Expanding on my Irish Clawthorne reading; That just adds to the whole story and the colonialism aspect and how the Wittebanes are of British descent, and the British colonized the Irish while declaring them 'savages' and the like, sound familiar?
Tumblr media
Big orange hair is such a thing for the family; Eda's hair can store objects in it, Lilith's was curly. And I dunno just; It's not just the angle of white folk colonizing America, it's also the Irish and we have Caleb learning to love Evelyn, whom people like to portray with orange hair. The consensus is that Dell, a ginger, is their direct descendant.
So there's also something to be said about Lilith as someone who was made to assimilate; In the Emperor's Coven, she was deliberately cut off from her family. She was 'taken in' by an older relative ashamed of his brother's fraternizing, who resented Lilith on multiple levels for her identity and for eventually scarring his face (in retaliation to manipulation and attempted murder).
Lilith was so blatantly abused in the Emperor's Coven, and there's a sick joke in how she wanted to be a historian, yet was made subordinate to Flora, who bastardized history on Belos' order, and also belittled Lilith. Lilith was constantly made to feel inferior and with how she was always more of a desk job than a field agent, unlike the coven heads, and it really feels like she was elected as a stunt, a prop to show off with; Look, see! Even a common wild witch like Lilith can rise to the top!
Tumblr media
But Lilith still had to assimilate, she had to conform; People like her can still fit under the coven banner, so long as they fit the mold and cut away those 'ugly' bits. So she straightens and dyes her hair a dark blue, cuts it down. Lilith hides herself, even her own Palisman is forced to constantly stay in staff form; A reminder that nature can only be allowed to exist as a tool, nothing else!!! And that's also dark because the Clawthornes are palismen carvers.
So yeah, we have Lilith trying to engage with her past and heritage, yet being deliberately blinded from it, made to participate in her own ignorance and erasure. Forced to hide physical aspects of herself to blend in, mistreated as more of a prop to show how any wild witch can be 'tamed', to prove a point to Belos himself. His own sick victory against Evelyn; A trophy seized from the locals, separated from her family and trying to pull them in with her because that's the best Lilith can have, even as she belittles them and thinks she was improved herself.
Tumblr media
Lilith obviously has personal agency and thus blame regarding the curse, and the finale's themes do assert that, as does Lilith’s effort to atone; But it was Belos' coven system that helped pit Lilith against her fellow witches and even family members, and estrange herself from them. Lilith WAS legitimately interested in magic, too... But because of the system, she cursed Eda.
And Lilith didn't use any old curse, she used one created by the Archivists, who came from another world to 'tame', that itself had reduced another wild, native creature to just a prop. That curse was used to dehumanize and delegitimize Eda's stance against the system. It reduced her connection to her bile magic, something also important to witches and Clawthornes, and especially Eda who loved and was great at it; And to mitigate the curse and take responsibility, Lilith also lost her bile magic.
Tumblr media
But at the same time, she and Eda re-established contact with glyphs, thanks to Luz; And Lilith made the breakthrough of rediscovering glyph combos! So there's an ancient practice, older than even the Deadwardian Era she obsessed over, that Lilith found and brought back, for a time at least; But that will still apply once King's glyphs so in full-swing. And Lilith even got to visit the Deadwardian Era, scar her abuser after he scarred her and so many others, and come to a better understanding about her own ancestral past, something that continues with Lilith’s self-actualization as the historian she always wanted to be; So now she’s helping everyone better understand their past and origins!
Lilith and the Clawthornes as a whole are still cut off from knowing about Evelyn and Caleb, and they may never know; But at least they got back Hunter, whom Lilith was also pitted against in the Emperor's Coven, which really divided Caleb and Evelyn's descendants. And what tops it all off is Lilith having parallels to Philip, what with the Wittebanes and Clawthorne sisters; One more open-minded and outdoorsy, going against society, while the other is bookish and bitterly insecure and absorbs prejudice to feel better about themselves. Even their names are structured similarly!
Tumblr media
They both wear blue coats and hurt a sibling they cared for but also resented... But Lilith grew beyond all that. She went above the hatred and jealousy. The system was more prevalent in her life, yet Lilith still chose to go against it, taking the chance to stop when it came and work for real happiness. She stopped needing to put down others to feel better about herself, Lilith made a friend with someone as strange as Hooty, who was once connected to the Titan and also forgot his past, but is now connected to Dell's old tower; Abandoned but given new life by Lilith's sister Eda. So the past is still lost to some extent and unrecognizable even, but it still lives on anyway.
Anyhow, Irish Lilith Clawthorne who is a victim of assimilation by British colonialism and that tried to erase her Irish features and make Lilith conform by cutting her off from her heritage and feeding her a bastardized, demonized version of her own past, while turning against her own people and culture and thinking herself superior for climbing up the ladder she left others at the base of; A promised justification of imperialism. But then Lilith breaks free from all of it and reconnects and re-embraces everything she lost, including her family and heritage, and just gets to be weird with other weirdoes like herself, so there's both blood and the covenant (not THAT type of coven tho).

More RW & TOH crossovers
Iterators, leeeet’s gooooooo
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lore explanation and some othe thoughts (RW spoilers):
For those who don’t know. Iterators are huge computers with AI,they work on living matter aka microbes and use huge amounts of water to cool their systems (they are the reason why it’s rain in Rain World lol). They were made to solve the Great Problem, aka to to find a way to commit a permanent suic*ide for the Ancients. But the Ancients didn’t wait for the solution and used Void Fluid to erase themselves from the existance. And iterators were left alone, trying to solve unsolvable problem. And they couldn’t just use the Void Fluid to erase themselves too, cuz Ancints wrote Taboo for this in their gemome. They had a special signal if they find a solution - Tripple affirmative: affirmative that a solution has been found, affirmative that the solution is portable, and affirmative that a technical implementation is possible and generally applicable.
And one day one of the iterators -  Sliver of Straw (Evelyn or Glance of the Ocean in the crossover) sent this affirmative. Everybody was very exited, but turned out than SoS is dead. Absolutely. And nobody knows what happen. Some decided that the solution was dangerous and killed her, sone thought that she didn’t find it and just died, and her dying system sent the signal by mistake. And some thought that death was the solution, that she has found a way to break the Taboo and kill herself. One of thothe who thought like that was Five Pebbles (Lilith or Five Lilies in the Crossover) and (probably) Seven Red Suns (Belos or Sever Sun Eclipses in the crossover). Pebbles decided to re-write part of his genome with the Taboo. He used many parallel processes and while it he used much more water than usual. And it could be not a broblem, but he had a neighbour - Looks to the Moon (Eda or Flying in the Night in the crossover), and they both used same water reservoir. So when Pebbles started using more water than usual, Moon didn’t have enough. And long story short, she collapsed. She tried to reach out to Pebbles and stop him, but she only ruined his work. Living matter of his systems was corrapted and turned into rot.
When Moon disappeared from local chats, other iterator, No Significant her (Caleb or Walking on the Edge in the crossover) decided to help Moon somehow, and sent Hunter (Hunter in crossover LOL) to LttM with a neuron, that could bring her back to live.
Phew. It’s much longer than I expected...
also I think Caleb and Philip can be Moon and Pebbles, and Eda and Lilith as NSH and 7RS. Or Caleb as SoS, since he’s dead, and SoS is dead too lol
Or Belos as NSH since he made Hunter (LOL) but his character? No way. Other way, Hunter can be Spearmaster (from DLC) or Wanderer (from RW Drought mod) (they created by 7RS). Well. When DLC will come out, I’ll see. Hehehe. Wanderer has jumps and Hunter has his dashes... it makes sence! But as I already know, Spermaster will suffer. Just what I like. So, Hunter as the Spearmaster? Maybe, maybe... and then it could be an AU with Huntlow since I already see Wilow as the Goumand, and I ship Spearmaster and Gourmand JSDOASKJKSDJKSSKS but eh
BUT HUNTER AS HUNTER STILL IS THE BEST THING FIGHT ME.

I don’t know if anyone has really talked about this, so imma throw out some thoughts I have of the new governing system/body that would preside over the Boiling Isle after Belos’ defeat.
My first initial thought, since we have that little scene of Darius and Eber keeping some of the previous coven heads away from Belos’ ruined throne, was that they had completely gotten rid of the idea of any one person having any ruling or governing power. Which I can only assume then that it’s ran more with a council of individuals meant to govern the whole of the Isles.
That said, I haven’t the slightest idea if it would be a council create through elected individuals or through a sort of succession system where someone on the council would chose their replacement when the time comes. However, I am leaning more towards the idea that they may be elected representatives that would be placed on the council.
As for how many would be on said council, I’m not sure on that. Of course, with the fall of Belos and the freedom to once again practice wild magic, the coven system that had been set up would be completely invalid and of no use, so I don’t see that there would be as many seats as there are types of magic as it might have previously been. It may be a considerable small council for the time being at the time of the series’ epilogue, but I do believe that Raine would be included within it as well as Darius, Eberwolf, and potentially Eda.
As, with the few glimpses of the Boiling Isles that we getting during the end credits epilogue, we of course as shown the new crest/symbol for the Boiling Isles, but only a few people are wearing the crest in the way an official badge would be worn. Raine, Darius, and Eberwolf being the only ones we see that have said badge displayed somewhere on their persons. However Eda’s position is questionable as, while the crest is present on her scarf, it could just be part of her headmaster outfit, something we also see on teachers at Hexside.
tl;dr: I think the most likely outcome of the new, budding ruling power of the Boiling Isles is probably going to consist of a governing council of elected representatives. Raine, Darius, and Eberwolf absolutely hold a position within said council and probably have a few other members with them that help keep order on the Isles. Eda may also have a seat at the council, but may also just be a general advisor (along with Lilith) rather than be an official member.

Conspiracy Corner 3.0
Welcome back once again to The Lampman's Conspiracy Corner! This is where I try to uncover the mysteries of The Owl House!
(A note for any newcomers: I am currently doing a mostly blind watchthrough of The Owl House. The last episode I saw was Edge of the World. No spoilers please!)
Tumblr media
Ta-da! Isn't that a lovely sight to behold? I'm really happy with how it turned out. The unicorn light strand was an inspired choice on my end, I feel. Shoutout to a friend of mine who gave me a bunch of awesome stuff that I used to make this new and improved version of the Corner. Including these really cool paperclips that look like lamp bulbs. Because I'm The Lampman!
I've overhauled pretty much the entire thing. The only things that are the same as the previous model are the tile and some of the glyphs. Oh, and two of the notes on the grimwalker section. Let's get a better look at some of the individual pieces, shall we?
Timeline
Tumblr media
We begin here with the timeline, expanded now that I know more about the past. As you can see, the past is divided into five eras.
•Distant Past Way back in the distant mists of the past, enormous Titans roamed the world of the Boiling Sea. But everything changed when The Collector attacked. For reasons as of yet unknown to me, The Collector came into conflict with the Titans. He formed the Titan Trappers under the title of the Grand Huntsman and became their god. The Collector and the Titan Trappers hunted the Titans to near extinction. At some point, the Titan I’ve been calling Ymir died and The Collector was trapped beneath its body. The implication seems to be that Ymir sacrificed itself to trap the enemy that could not be defeated.
•1600s The 1600s was a busy time, far too busy for me to include every important event on a single post-it note. To summarize, Gravesfield was founded in 1635 in Connecticut. In the young town lived the Brothers Wittebane. This was during the time of the Connecticut Witch Trials, and so the brothers grew up hearing stories about witches and played game where they fought witches. At some point, they met a real witch from the Demon Realm. One of them was scared, but the other brother was fascinated by the strange woman’s magics.
A bit of conjecture: Philip ran away, while his brother followed the witch back to the Demon Realm. Philip told others of the encounter, resulting in the legend of the brothers meeting the witch and being abducted living on into modern memory as we saw in Yesterday’s Lie. Philip somehow managed to make his way to the Demon Realm and set out to find his brother. On his travels he discovered glyph magic and started consuming palismen… for some reason. He did manage to track down his brother, and to his horror, he found his brother engaged in a sinful union with a witch.
This is likely what caused him to transform into his monstrous form. His brother, ever compassionate, does not run in fear from his horrifically mutated brother, but embraces him. Philip decided to take things into his own hands and attempts to murder the witch… but in the end, he ends up taking his own brother’s life. The witch chases him off, Philip barely escaping with his life.
Whatever sanity was left within Philip’s mind now gone, he sets about crafting a masterplan to eradicate all of demonkind. He begins constructing a portal back to the Human Realm. He also attempts to resurect his brother by creating creatures called grimwalkers. Sometime between 1660 and 1670 he encounters the crab maiden Luzura and her cool aunt Dirtrude, actually Luz the Human and Lilith Clawthorne from the future. They help him retrieve a disk that lets him contact The Collector, a figure that plays an important, if as of yet unknown part in Philip’s plans. He assumed the identity of Belos and began his campaign that would eventually see him as the Emperor of the Boiling Isles.
•1700-1800s Nothing of note happened here.
•1900s Belos declared himself as Emperor sometime during the 1970s and established the Coven system. The 1970s also saw the birth of both Edalyn and Lilith Clawthorne. Later, sometime during the early 1990s Eda became good friends with Raine Whispers, future head witch of the Bard Coven. The day before the tryouts for the Emperor’s Coven, Lilith cursed her sister with the Owlbeast curse to ensure she would win their duel… a duel Eda had already decided to forfeit.
Eda ended up running away from home as a result of her curse. She found the abandoned portal door to the Human Realm. She would go on to become a notorious outlaw and wild witch, known as Eda the Owl Lady. Parallel, Lilith rose through the ranks of the Emperor’s Coven until she became its leader, tasked with capturing Eda.
•2000s The 2000s saw the birth of many of the main characters like Luz, Amity, Willow, Gus, as well as the creation of Hunter.* Other important events during the 2000s include the death of Luz’ father and Eda adopting King.**
The present of the story takes place in 2022. This based on the anniversary of Camila’s husband’s death being on 22:nd of August, which was on a Monday in the present year. You can see I circled that year on the timeline with that calendar thing I used to figure it out.
*Note on Hunter: it’s not entirely clear how old he actually is, but Darius believed him to be around sixteen years. So it is likely he’s at least close to that age.
**Much like with Hunter, it’s ambiguous exactly how old King is. He was adopted eight years before the present events (so in 2014). But we don’t know how long he spent alone in the tower, or even how long his egg was incubating before it hatched.
The Wittebanes
Tumblr media
Here is a simple family tree for the messed up Wittebane Family. It starts with Mom and Dad Wittebane who sired Philip Wittebane and his brother.
Philip has remained unmarried and with no known romantic relationships in the past or present. Truly, the aro/ace icon we deserve.
That was a joke.
Ahem.
Brother Wittebane married, or at the very least was romantically involved with a witch whose name is to me unknown at the moment. There is a possibility she gave birth to their child later on, so there’s space left to extend the family tree further.
Hunter is… an interesting case. As the technology does not exist in the real world (yet, I’m working on it), the question of where exactly a clone fits in on a family tree is not a settled question. This particular case is made more complicated by the fact that Philip created Hunter, but Hunter was also based on Brother Wittebane. So in some ways, Hunter (and the other grimwalkers that I couldn’t fit on this page) is the progeny of both Philip and his brother.
Grimwalkers and Hunter
Tumblr media
Speaking of Grimwalkers, here is a page dedicated all to them.
Starting with grimwalkers, these sad pedestrians are biomagically engineered clones or replicas of people. More specifically of Philip Wittebane’s brother. The exact process of creating a grimwalker is unknown, but it is implied they grow in the ground like plants and that they can be created as full-grown adults.
It is unknown whether Philip created grimwalkers on his own, or if he got the recipe from some other source.
Speaking of the recipe, the known ingredients include Galdorstone, Palistrom wood, Stonesleeper lungs, Selkidomus scales, and Bone of ORTET.
(sidenote: In botany, an ortet is the original plant from which one or more clones are derived. This indicates that this ”Bones of ORTET” is a vital step in the cloning process)
I’ve also included two possible inspirations for the concept of grimwalkers (from a meta perspective, not Philip’s inspiration). Those are homunculus, artificial humans created via alchemy. A famous example in fiction is the homunculi from Fullmetal Alchemist. Another inspiration is Bakru, unruly children created out of wood by witches and wizards.
Hunter There have been many grimwalkers, at least sixteen prior to Hunter, possibly more. Hunter is special however, because he is a main character.
I talked a little before about some confusion surrounding his actual age in the Timeline segment. For now, his age is marked as 16.
This page includes some basic information. His palisman is Flapjack, he has no inherent magic but is branded with the Emperor’s Coven’s sigil. His alignment is… not entirely clear, but he’s probably going to be on the Owl House Crew’s side once he shows up again. His current location is also a mystery, because our heroes did not feel like going looking for him in Edge of the World.
I also included some notes on important relationships. His friends includes Willow, Gus, Skara, and Viney, all of whom he befriended in Any Sport in A Storm. Under the category of Family I included Belos Darius as a father figure and Luz as a sister… mainly because a certain someone I know will correct me if I call Luz anything but his sister. Under the ??? category we find Eda, King, and Amity. Once he does join up with the crew, they’ll most likely fall under the Friends or Family categories, but at this moment I’m not sure what he would consider them to be. The last time he saw Amity was when the two were fighting, after all.
The Collector
Tumblr media
Moving to the other side of the Conspiracy Corner, we find The Collector. I decorated this page with a lot of stars because of their space motif! And also a paperclip that looks like a lamp because stars are kinda like lamps.
The Collector is a very mysterious figure whose origins and motives remain largely a mystery. Even the full extent of their powers have yet to be truly revealed, though it’s safe to say it will be a lot. A lot of what I’m not sure yet, but it will be a lot.
What I do know is that The Collector also goes under the name of the Grand Huntsman, that he founded the Titan Trappers and is considered by them to be a god. The Collector founded the Titan Trappers to aid him in his fight against the massive Titans. At some point, likely several thousand years ago, he was imprisoned beneath the body of the Titan I call Ymir.
One of the many questions surrounding this character is what exactly it is they collect. I’m leaning towards it being strange and exotic beasts or creatures. But it might as well be anything The Collector finds the least bit interesting. It could also be something more nebulous like feelings or something.
Titans
Tumblr media
Much like their enemy The Collector, the Titans are shrouded in mystery and questions that will hopefully be answered later. What I do know is that these magnificent beasts once roamed the planet and could grow to enormous proportions, as large as islands. They possessed vast magical potential, their blood even capable of opening up rifts in reality, piercing into other dimensions or different times.
The Titans are today almost extinct, with only one known living individual remaining. Their extinction came as consequence of a war against The Collector, a powerful magical entity. The Collector formed the Titan Trappers, a warrior clan solely dedicated towards finding and killing Titans.
(i decorated this page with whale stickers because whales are big and titans are big!)
Ymir Ymir is the name I’ve given to the Titan whose body make up the Boiling Isles. Ymir is implied to have been the one to imprison The Collector, at the cost of their own life.
Ymir is also the source of magic on the Boiling Isles, leading to the people of the Isles revering it almost as a god, a fact exploited by Belos to further his evil plans.
The last thing I want to mention about Ymir is that there is a slight possibility that it is still, in some way, conscious or alive. The hints are few and far between, with there only ever really being two moments I can think of. The first one is during Adventures in the Elements, when Luz learns her second glyph. The scene, to me, seems to imply that the island itself helped her. Combine this with a comment Philip made in Elsewhere and Elsehwen, where he said that it took him years to find the glyphs, almost as if the world itself was trying to hide them from him.
Based on that, it seems to me like Ymir was, in some way, trying to hinder Philip from finding the glyphs and gaining power because it could sense the evil within him. When Luz came along, Ymir helped her along the way, because it could sense she was good and may be the thing that could stop Belos.
Like I said, there is really nothing else to support this theory other than these two very brief moments. And it may to be so much that Ymir is still conscious as more of an… residual will to protect the people of the Isles.
Another possibility is that Ymir has nothing to do with it, and it was just to demonstrate the differences between Philip and Luz. Luz, who came into the Demon Realm, fascinated and enamored with the magic and adventure connected with it and was able to find the glyphs easily once she set her mind to it.
Philip on the other hand despised the Demon Realm, seeing it a hellish realm of sin and darkness. His hatred for magic and the world he found himself in made him blind to the wonders of it and is what made it so difficult for him to find the glyphs in nature.
King King is, to my knowledge, the last living Titan. His biological parents are unknown, but he was adopted by Eda eight years ago. So he is at least eight years old, but his egg may have been in the tower for thousands of years as far as I know.
Bat-Queen
Tumblr media
Not much is known about this Chiroptera Queen. Her own memories of her past are muddy and unclear. All she can recall is that she once sat on the staff belonging to a giant thousands of years ago. It’s possible this giant was a Titan that fell in battle against The Collector or the Titan Trappers.
She protects broken and damaged palismen in her forest. The fact that Belos has never sent his forces to retrieve the palismen from her means that he either doesn’t know where she resides… or that she is powerful enough to repel any attempts to invade her domain.
Glyphs
Tumblr media
Not much to say about this section. These are jus the four basic glyphs as well as every glyph combo we’ve seen in the series so far, unless I missed something. Oh, and Philip’s teleportation array is not included, because ain’t no way I’m drawing that thing.
Of note is that right next to the petrification combo is a combo I created with the intention of reversing the effect.
I also included my Lightning/Thunder glyph combo that I created a while ago.
The Day of Unity
Tumblr media
This page is dedicated not to the event itself, but rather to the multiple factions that will play a role during this promised day.
The Empire In short, these are the bad guys. And if not bad, then in some way working for, supporting, or an unwitting pawn in Belos’ plan.
•Emperor Belos/Philip Wittebane The Pumpkin King of the Boiling Isles and the mastermind behind this whole event. He is very skilled with magic and can transform his body into a monstrous form. •6 Coven Head Witches These are the six Coven Head Witches still loyal to Belos. Those are the heads of the Healing Coven, Construction Coven, Potions Coven, Illusion Coven, Oracle Coven, and Plant Coven. They are all very powerful witches and are instrumental for the draining spell to work properly. •Warden Wrath Not sure why I included him on the list, he hasn’t really been a threat since episode one. •Coven Scouts The Coven Scouts comprise the army of the Boiling Isles and act as Belos’ main enforcers. There will be a lot of Scouts standing guard and while the typical guard doesn’t offer much challenge to our heroes, legions of them together could pose a serious problem. •Kikimora I forgot to include her on the list… although is she really a threat? I dunno, she might do something. She’ll probably fail, but still. Maybe she’ll faceplant in front of Eda and make her trip at a vital moment or something. •Abomatons These powerful guardian sentries make for a substantial threat to out heroes, unless they find some way to effectively deal with them. Cough, Alador, cough. •The General Populace Belos has the support of the general populace of the Boiling Isles. Pretty much every witch is going to be present during the Day of Unity.
There is one important factor I want to mention. Nearly every adult witch on the series, with exceedingly few exceptions, are members of a coven. This means that they have a coven sigil. And as we’ve seen, the sigils can be used to incapacitate witches with no real way for them to resist. This means that Belos could potentially render almost anyone and everyone incapable of fighting back. Who says that if the heroes rile the masses against him, that he can’t just flick his finger and have them all rendered unconscious?
The Owl House Crew A ragtag bunch of misfits, including a wild witch, a human, Lord Hooty, the last Titan, and a bunch of kids. These are our heroes that will save the day. Maybe.
•Luz Noceda Skilled with glyph magic and will potentially play an important role in rallying people against Belos. •Eda Clawthorne Though she lacks her magic powers, she has access to a harpy mode, granting her increased strength, speed, durability and flight. She also has some knowledge of glyph magic and potions. •King Clawthorne The last living Titan, he boasts a powerful scream capable of splitting solid rock asunder. •Hooty The mighty Lord Hooty is, of course, a god on Earth… or whatever it is the Demon Realm planet is called. You’d think that’d be more than enough, but keep in mind, The Collector is a god too. •Lilith Clawthorne She lacks magical powers, but has trained to use glyphs. May potentially have some valuable insider information. •Amity Blight A gifted young witch specializing in abomination magic. An awesome girlfriend. •Willow Park A natural when it comes to plant magic, her power has impressed adult witches in the past. •Gus Porter A talented student, his illusion magic is not to be underestimated. •Hunter Should I list his last name as Wittebane? Whatever, even though he’s gone at the moment, I think he’ll join up with the Owl House Crew shortly and help them during the Day of Unity. He may not have any magic of his own, but he is trained in combat and has Flapjack lending him some power. He may also have some valuable insider information. •Gwendolyn Clawthorne My list also includes Gwen, mainly because she said in Keeping Up A-fear-ances that she’d like to give Belos a piece of her mind, and unlike Dell who seems pretty frail, she is strong enough to help out in a fight.
There are some more potential allies, like the various witches and demons Luz and Gang has befriended on the Boiling Isles. Maybe some of their classmates from Hexside will join in on the fight. This could be especially valuable if Belos activates the sigils to put all the adults to sleep like i speculated.
Traitorous Trio These are the three Coven Head Witches that have decided to betray Belos and try to stop his mad scheme. All three of them are powerful and skilled witches, more than capable of holding their own in a fight.
•Raine Whispers The head of the Bard Coven, they’re a skilled musician and witch. Their refusal to involve Eda may become a weakness. •Darius The head of the Abomination Coven. His magics are unorthodox, reflecting how he puts a lot of value on independence and thinking for one self. Hunter’s dad. •Eberwolf This guys here too I guess? Um… probably pretty strong, but doesn’t seem to be much of a planner. •The Bards Against the Throne This lovable trio of bards are included here as they worked for and with Raine. While they were seemingly imprisoned back in Eda’s Requiem, a close examination of the brief scene revealed that they were thrown in an unlocked cell and could potentially just walk out of there. Their current status is unknown, but they might be able to help out.
Wildcards This category is reserved for some people whose role or allegiance I’m not entirely clear on just yet.
•Bat-Queen A pretty obvious ally. Eda still has that whistle and BQ owes her a favor. And I’m sure that once she finds out what Belos does to palismen, she’ll be more than happy to provide some assistance. Having Belos swarmed by a bunch of wounded palismen could be cool. If she doesn’t join the fight, I could see her maybe playing some role in getting the heroes out of a tough spot.
•Alador I’ve talked about this theory several times, but to recap: I think that Alador will see Amity fighting against the Emperor and decide that his family matter more than anything else. He will have some way of turning all the Abomatons against the Emperor’s forces and help turn the tide at an important moment. As for Odalia… she might do the right thing, I’m not saying she’s all evil or something like that, but at the same time… only one of the Blight parents had an important moment in an episode where they realized their treatment of their kids may have been hurtful, and it wasn’t her. Also, I’m not sure there is really much she brings to the table in terms of what she could actually do to help.
•The Titan Trappers I’m not really expecting them to play a role in the Day of Unity, but they could. Sure, their giant teleportation thing was destroyed, but they did have boats, modeled after viking longships. And the vikings made it to the americas And the Titan Trappers have magic, which the vikings didn’t (as far as you know at least). Then again, six days to sail halfway around the world seems a bit… unrealistic. So yeah, I don’t expect them to show up, not unless they’re able to fix their teleporter.
*The Collector The Grand Huntsman’s placement in the wildcard category might be a little puzzling to some. He’s allied with Belos, so shouldn’t that put him in The Empire category?
No. Here’s the thing: The Collector may be allied with Belos, but that doesn’t mean they’ll be on the same side of history once the dust settles. As far as I know, The Collector is just using Belos to break out of his imprisonment and once he’s free, they’ll toss Belos aside like the trash he is. Who knows, they might even go out of their way to stop Belos from exterminating all life in the Demon Realm. After all, that’s where all his prey lives.
So for now, The Collector remains the wildest of all the wildcards.
•Steve If you look closely at the picture, you can see that my sister made an addition to this entry. Steve is her favorite character and husbando. Her waifu is Neo from RWBY. And lets hope she never reads this, or I won’t live long enough to liveblog again.
Anyway, this character has appeared sporadically throughout the season. During the expedition to Eclipse Lake, talking to Hunter in Any Sport in A Storm, and most importantly in Elsewhere and Elsewhe. In that episode, he attended a party in the Owl House celebrating Lilith’s new job. Lilith, who is a known traitor, hanging out in the house of the most infamous wild witch of the modern era.
I actually have an idea for how he might join up with the good guys. Edge of the World ended with the Owl House surrounded by Coven Scouts. What if Steve is one of them, and when he sees his old boss and friend Lilith, he decides turn traitor and helps them fight off the other scouts?
And listen, I’m not saying he has an unrequited crush on Lilith, but-
In Conclusion This became a lot longer than I was expecting it to. But hey, I think it was worth it. I got to talk not just about what I know so far, but also a little about what I think will happen in the coming few episodes. But there is only one way to truly find out and that is to start watching the next episode. I’ll be back tomorrow with a brand new liveblog for you all! Until then, take care of the planet Earth and remember that anything can happen in space.

First time watching ToH S2E12 (Elsewhere and Elsewhen). Thoughts below:
Detailed thoughts:
WHAT AN EPISODE. There’s so much to unpack here it’s enough to make my head spin.
First thing’s first: the big reveal. Philip Wittebane is Emperor Belos. There’s so much to that reveal and what it means for Belos’ motivations and plan. The episode has made it abundantly clear that Philip hates witches and holds a vendetta against them. Presumably, it was a witch that cursed Philip, and possibly another that led to his brother’s death. Perhaps his brother was burned as a witch while Philip escaped into the Demon Realm.
Philip’s journal makes it clear that he considers the Demon Realm to be both horrid and fantastic, perhaps the writers were being clever and using fantastic in its original sense (describing something that is like a fantasy). Perhaps Philip’s fascination w/ the Demon Realm is limited solely to the world itself and not the witches that inhabit it. Though, if that was the case, then why did he donate his journal to the library?
If Philip just wanted to return home, he could have done that at any time once he created the portal. He likely has returned to the Human Realm, but what compelled him to come back? Why did he lose the portal door? Philip has stated his plans to unite the Demon Realm w/ the Human Realm, but to what end? Just to rule over it? Why do that now? What’s keeping him from recreating the portal door?
Is it the Collector? What is it that the Collector has or is able to do that makes seeking him out necessary to create a portal to the Human Realm? Does Belos need to find the Collector again? What happened to the glass disk to summon him?
If Philip is Belos, how did he change his appearance? We see him w/ pointed ears when he had his mask off. How has he lived for so long if he’s really been living since the 17th century? If Belos is actually a human, then what does that make Hunter? Is he part human too? Is Hunter the son of Philip’s missing brother?
What does Belos mean by the will of the Titan? Was that just convenient propaganda that he crafted based on the natural religious/spiritual beliefs of the Boiling Isle’s inhabitants? I mean, I suspected that was the case, but how does Belos actually substantiate his claim?
From what I can tell, Belos’ plan is to unite the Human and Demon Realms like he claims, but in the process, he plans on draining the magic of everyone else to do so (using what he learned from the Basilisks). Philip hates witches and I’d imagine he’d do anything to weaken them and break their power for good (the original purpose of the Coven system).
If witches can no longer use magic, then the only magic users that will remain are those that can master glyphs, “the worthy” that Belos often talks about. I assume that Belos also plans on continuing to drain the magic of witches after the Day of Unity by having them create more Palismen so he can drain the magic from them for his curse.
Belos has to have recognized Luz back from his days as Philip, but what does he want from her? Does he just want another sacrifice? A sacrifice for the Collector?
Is Hunter the sacrifice? When Philip gave his compliments to Lilith and Luz, it was right before he was going to sacrifice them to the Stone Sleeper behind the door. Now, Philip, as Belos, is doing the same thing to Hunter.
Stepping back from the hell that is that reveal, let’s move on to Eda. Like Raine said, Eda has always been one to run away from her problems, hiding her insecurities from others, running from her problems, pushing away those who try to help her, and blaming all of her problems on the Owl Beast.
While the Owl Beast was what directly caused events like Dell losing her eye, it was Eda’s unwillingness to be open w/ others that caused Raine to break up w/ her, and it was Eda’s choice to run away instead of talking to her parents. Even now, after all of the progress that she’s made, Eda is still unable to confront her father.
Eda views herself as unforgivable for what she did to her father, for injuring him to the point that he can’t continue working his job of making Palismen. Instead, Dell simply tells Eda to let the past go and to start moving on. It’s not Dell whom Eda needs forgiveness from, I doubt he ever blamed her, it’s herself.
While Belos turned his antipathy out toward the world and the countless innocent witches who are in no way responsible for what happened to him, Eda turned her antipathy towards inward, blaming herself and the Owl Beast for her problems.
The question is whether Belos is capable of the type of self-reflection that Eda has been going through recently. How much to blame are witches for his problems vs himself or just fate? Can Philip step back from the monster that he created that is Belos? I fear that it’s already too late for him.
General thoughts:
Luz is still working on understanding the portal door.
Lovely note from King and really cute that Luz has the same photo of her, Eda, and King on her board that Eda has by her mirror.
It’s stunning to see Luz go through all those books to find out where she went wrong when making the new portal door.
Lilith and Gwendolyn! Morton! NOSE GIRL! STEVE!!!
Lilith is the new assistant curator of the supernatural museum of history. How’d she get that job? Is Belos not on the hunt for her too? Is there an ordinary museum of history on the Boiling Isles?
Owl-pellet-tizers!
Flora’s an old teacher of Lilith’s.
Oh, Lilith got the job so Belos could keep an eye on her.
Flora Desplora. Man, I cannot believe we got another bad girl historian as a character. Also, Flora was part of the EC too? Is she still part of it?
“And I have questions about my life!” Don’t we all girl, don’t we all.
I don’t think the Titan wears socks.
OH NO WHAT HAPPENED TO THE INTRO?! Is it really going to be one of those episodes?
Another Philip flashback! How long has Philip been in the Demon Realm? Over 10 years at least, but likely much, much longer.
The Collector? Philip and his companions(!) must face what? Or whom?
Go back in time? Is this going to be a time travel episode? Is Lilith going to time travel w/ them to create her exhibit?
Twigfoot, Lenderman, and the fearsome Possum!
Time pools? Sounds a lot like those Titan’s Blood portals.
Lilith is a model maker! And a fan of architecture!
Cool aunt Lilith!
Hey! It’s Eaglebert out of his staff form!
Time pools do have to do w/ Titan’s Blood!
Lilith made a time pool finding device too! What can’t Lilith do?
Luz is really going to use the last of the Titan’s Blood she has to find this time pool. She really is determined to get back.
Oh! Time beach! It’s a time pool in the past but not the present! Aw, Lilith! :c
Yeah! In your face, self doubt!
Lilith is a dinosaur nut too! Man, this show is doing everything it can to make me love her, and it’s working!
That’s the fastest time b/w setup and payoff for a brick joke that I’ve seen a time travel story.
Baby’s Borough!
They’re both so excited about their discoveries!
I love that Luz thinks Lilith is cool but that dance is losing points from me.
Eda and Gwendolyn again! Eda’s still hiding from her problems. In this case, her dad and the eye he lost to her.
The Savage Ages were so much better! #born in the wrong generation
I LOVE LILITH! I LOVE THATCHWORK! LOVE HER LOVE HER LOVE HER!
Nobody knows Philip? Oh! There he is!
So Luz actually gets to meet Philip! And save him and his research!
Hawksley and Hooty keeping Eda from escaping.
What did happen to Blue Fang? Was it the Collector? WAIT IS LUZ PHILIP’S COMPANION FROM THE FLASHBACK?
Did Philip lose his brother in the Demon Realm too? Was it the Collector?
Luzura and Dirtrude. :3
Lying to Philip totally won’t backfire. Especially when Luz loses her helmet (which will definitely happen). Picto-glyphs? Philip used glyphs too?
What was w/ that facial expression?
LOOK AT THAT GLYPH ARRAY! That’s the most complicated magic we’ve ever seen!
Well, that’s a bold escape attempt.
OMG, Eda is really meeting her father again!
The Collector is in the Titan’s head? Philip created a teleportation spell?
The Titan’s head is sacred ground?
That door reminds me of the one in King’s castle.
Philip has met the Collector before hasn’t he? Is he going to sacrifice one of them to the Collector? Like Blue Fang?
What is that in Philip’s bag? IS THAT BLUE FANG’S FANG? IS THAT HIS PALISMAN TOO? I don’t like this... I don’t like what it’s implying. I don’t like this at all.
LILITH!
That glass disk, what is it? Does it summon the Collector?
I THOUGHT IT LOOKED LIKE A STONE SLEEPER!
A round boi!
YEAH! THE POWER OF PUNCHING WINS ONCE AGAIN!
COPE AND SEETHE!
The Owl House was Dell’s?! No wonder how Gwendolyn found Eda! They knew where she was for that long but Eda kept running from them that entire time? :c
TWENTY YEARS!
A Palistrom seed? Dell’s been working w/ the Bat Queen too?
;_;
THOSE ARE ALL PALISMANS! OH MY GOD, PHILIP IS BELOS!!!
HE HATES MAGIC AND WITCHES! HE WANTS TO TAKE ALL THEIR POWERS AWAY! THAT’S WHAT THE DAY OF UNITY IS ACTUALLY ABOUT! THAT’S WHAT THE BASILISKS ARE FOR!

“Ten years later” but like fluffy, like
Luz and Amity are married and live between the human and demon realms, traveling freely between them with a nifty door they (”they” being Luz, Eda, King and Hunter) built, going on adventures and still learning more and more about magic
King is well into his teenage phase and still lives with Eda, who is back together with Raine (not legally married but at the very least “common law” I guess you could say), and straight up calls them his parents. Hooty has taken over the house once more. They live in chaotic harmony, and Eda and Raine regularly hang out with Camilla as the “Luz’s parents” squad.
Vee still lives in the human realm and has created her own identity, of sorts. She’s living her best life going on adventures around Earth but always visits Camilla and Luz, since they’re her family. She loves bringing back little knicknacks and souvenirs for them.
Lilith is living her best life as a museum curator and is now an academic author, she’s doing well for herself. Hooty is still her best friend and half the time she visits Eda it’s so she can talk with Hooty. She has fully embraced her position as Luz and King’s aunt.
Gus and Mattholomule his partner are new parents to a young child (~5ish), and Gus is absolutely not allowed to fly with said child. Gus finding excuses to visit Luz and Amity’s human-realm home... Gus is, of course, a master illusionist and uses his illusions for entertainment purposes, as well as protection. He and Mattholomule are officially the guardians of the Looking Glass Graveyard.
Willow is an absolute queen. Not literally ofc, the monarchy has been dismantled, but you get the idea. She runs a shop selling rare plants, mostly for potion ingredients, and is one of the first to jump to when trouble is stirring. She played pro flyer derby for a while in her early twenties and still coaches on the side.
Hunter, who was officially adopted by Darius, is now a palisman carver and runs a palisman adopt-and-rescue, and acts as a bit of a protector to them to keep them safe from anyone who might try taking a page out of Belos’ book. He’s also helping raise his “little brother,” Belos’ final Grimwalker who was only a baby when Belos was defeated.
Principal Bump is still principal and he is still amazing. A lot of the up-and-coming students were, of course, between 2 and 6 years old during the Day of Unity, the first generation that won’t really remember Emperor Belos and the coven system, and Bump and the other teachers who fought against Belos are often asked to speak at events- partly for the historical event they lived through, partly as a way to remind people what happened now that it’s becoming history.
Mmm it’s 1 am and I can’t think of anything for anyone else help me

Tumblr media
I’ve always wanted to make my own AU from some fandom I’m in, and I think I can finally make it. Or rather half of it, because I’ve got inspired by this post from @drabbles-of-writing and I thought I would put my own spin on it. I also got little inspiration from anime Bungou Stray Dogs.
It’s still a sketchy idea and work in progress but if you’re interested, I wrote down below some short information about world building, Belos’ role and Hunter’s arc (Because I focused on the bad side here)
Belos' role:
- this is fantasy mafia AU so magic and creatures stays the same as in canon
- the story changes during time of Savage Ages, because Belos fails to get publicity as in original. But his idea gets picked up by some witches. Wanting to put stop to this lawless time they create government, later known as Main Coven. The heads of the nine covens are the one ruling. In general coven's system is the same as in canon, the only diffrence is that there is no emperor but a group of people
- attitude towards wild witches is slighty lighter, cause they're not sentenced to petrification but simply locked up
- that doesn't please Belos, who sees that his original plan is beginning to fall apart. He can't see any other way but to follow more violent path. He creates his Mafia and becomes Godfather
- Belos lives a double life: as the head of the mafia and as one of the respected and well-liked teachers in Potions Coven. He would use fake name Francis xD. While as a mafia Head he would conduct illegal activities and hunt for palismans, as a teacher from Hexside School he would build his reputation ( rose through the ranks until eventually gaining power)
- Eda's and Lilith's story is the same as canon, but the one who sold Lilith the curse scroll is mafia. Thanks to that Belos finds about incident with Eda. When Lilith gets promoted to Main Coven, he forces her to cooperate through blackmail. At the same time as a Francis, he "catches" her working with mafia and shows sympathy for her, gaining her trust. He promises to help her cure Eda (He gives her a stronger version of potions Eda uses in canon)
- Belos is still after the Portal. For this purpose he kidnaps Luz and uses her to negotiate with Eda: Portal for human. Eda agrees to this exchange and Luz manages to destroy the Portal. Shortly after Main Coven arrives on the scene, having been informed earlier about Eda's location by anonymous source. Belos retreats, while Eda fights the Coven protecting Luz. She uses all her power and transforms into Owl Beast and Coven captures her and locks away until her trial
- Lilith fears for her sister and opposes the Main Coven. Together with Eda, Luz and King, they run home (the same as in canon). Lilith loses her position and is replaced by satisfied Belos
- Apart from Belos/Francis, Hexside school is also being watched by other members of the mafia, who are looking for students’ data, materials or even potential recruits for the organization
-The Blight Family would be in partnership with the Mafia and would make weapons for them
- Main Coven would have suspicions about the existence of a criminal group
- When Eda meets Raine after helping their group escape, she tells them about her suspicions that the Coven has been corrupted by the Mafia. Raine promises her that they will look into it further and will inform her about anything. During their investigation, they are detected and captured by the mafia
- there probably would be some characters deaths in this AU
Hunter’s arc:
- there would be a rumor between mafia members: Godfather Belos has a deal with Titan himself and has Death by his side, making him immortal.  Only those who befriend Death or eliminate it will be able to kill Belos
- Hunter is  said Death and people call him Golden Death. He’s the head of the assasins. Under the order of Belos he’s hididng his face under mask to make sure no one knows his true identity
- Belos told him that his parents belonged to some small gang. One day there was a fight between them and the other gang. The only one surviving from his gang was Hunter, whose parents hid him safe. That fight happened on Belos teritory, so he got involed and when he found Hunter, he took him under his wing and started training him to become his personal weapon
- Belos is strict with Hunter.  Hunter fights really hard for his approval (same as canon I guess). Belos led him down a dark path, making his psyche much worse than canon.
- Kikimora would be trying to prove that Hunter doesn’t deserve his position. Their relationship at the beggining would be enemies on the same side. They would usually tease each other, while sabotaging the tasks of one another. (I wanted their relationship to develop into one where they start to respect the other one. Not friends, but they finally acknowledge other strength)
- first meeting with Luz would be like in canon: Luz and Eda cross paths with Golden Death during his mission to kill the Selkidomus (No, he wouldn’t make them kill for him). They would try to fight him a little and eventually would lose him in tunels of a cave (saving Selkidomus at the same time...or would they?)
- second meeting: Hunter goes to Latissa to report back after the mission, but loses his mask on the way. While searching for it, he spots Luz lurking near the mafia headquarters. He decides to speak to her as Hunter.  He learns that Kikimora has kidnapped some of the palismans from the school grounds, unknowingly taking Luz with her. She has attacked Kikimora, forcing her to stall her mission. Hunter decides to help Luz (to annoy Kikimora) and forms a friendship with her. After freeing palismans she invites him to the Owl House
- at first Hunter starts meeting with Luz only for information, but fastly learns that he actually enjoys time spent with her and others from the Owl House. He’s starting to have doubts about his life until now
- Eda would be suspecting Hunter of belonging to mafia, but she would be discreet about it.
- Amity would openly be hostile to Hunter and wouldn’t trust him.
- on the other side Hunter would also have Belos and Kikimora on his back, since he wouldn’t tell them about his little plan. I wanted to give him some challenge in juggling his two identities
So for now this is my base for this AU. If you have any remarks, asks or ideas for this, I will happily hear from you :DD I’m not a writer and I’m sure there are a lot of plot holes xd
But seriously I just wanted to draw some cool poses and Hunter in waistcoat lol XD

eclipse lake - s2e9 - thoughts
I loved this episode for a lot of reasons, and especially because we got to see our lovely characters when Luz wasn’t with them. It’s so clear how they’ve all changed, and I’m glad we’re getting to know them as separate people. What I loved most was that we learned about Amity and Hunter both through how they interacted with each other. There was a specific moment that hit for me which I’ll get to.
Here, the big conflict for Amity and Hunter both is needing to prove that they are worthy of their existence. They both have a use, as they were raised to, and if they don’t have that use, then what good are they?
Let’s talk about Amity first. This season is all about Amity breaking free from what she was raised to do and be - she is just learning how to be her own person instead of the person her parents want her to be. We see this explicitly when she stands up to Odalia in Escaping Expulsion, and again when she dyes her hair pink/purple. She’s coming into her own, and she’s a little uncomfortable - if she’s not living for her parents, for their legacy and reputation, then who is she living for? And because she’s started going out with Luz, she feels this duty to prove her worth to her as her girlfriend. So she really wants to succeed because she wants to help Luz, but she also really wants this for herself, to feel worthy of a place in Luz’s life. While I loved the yearning and crushing content, I’m glad we’re getting to know her now.
We see the Emperor’s Coven at the Eclipse Lake mineshaft with all their cronies as well as their Abomatons. The Abomatons are quite literally soldiers created by her parents who now have been enlisted into the Emperor’s army. Earlier in season 1, we learn that the Emperor’s Coven is intended to be her future, what with Lilith being her mentor and all. She, too, was a soldier raised by her parents to eventually end up in the Emperor’s Coven, to be one of the Emperor’s pawns. We don’t really know where she stands what that anymore, but we can infer pretty easily she’s not really set on the Emperor’s Coven anymore, since it isn’t actually what she wants, but what she was taught to want. In this episode, she quite literally has to fight not only the Coven witches but the Abomatons as well - she’s fighting against everything she was taught to be. This act of helping Luz and attacking the Emperor’s Coven is a rebellion against her upbringing and her wanting to forge a new path for herself.
This brings us to Hunter, who had little to no choice in his upbringing. He was enlisted into the Emperor’s Coven and doesn’t really have the option to leave. We learned this in Hunting Palismen, and it’s implied that he wishes he had to option to forge his own future as well. This episode explicitly shows just how similar Amity and Hunter are - they didn’t get to figure out who they were, and they both feel this need to prove their worth at any and all times. Hunter faces the same calamity as Amity - he’s worried about losing his spot next to the Emperor, and fears that he’s not proved his worth, and as such, he needs to do something to prove he deserves the place he has.
I love seeing Amity and Hunter together because we see the different sides of childhood abuse. We see now that Amity is healing - she’s got friends in her life that love her for her, and who encourage her to find herself and will support her. We see that Hunter is struggling - he has nobody in the Emperor’s Coven who can genuinely support him, except for his little red cardinal (who I shall refer to as Rascal for now). Rascal is so important because Hunter is a powerless witch - Hunter doesn’t feel like Rascal should have chosen him, and should’ve chosen someone else, someone better. We see just how much Amity has grown from the way she treats Hunter - she is kind to him when they are at the empty Eclipse Lake, telling him about her own journey to find herself and about her support system. She has no reason to trust him, and yet we see that she is trying to be better, to be kind, just the way Luz is.
Hunter has his task set out for him - he needs to prove his worth to Emperor Belos, and therefore he needs to get Titan’s blood in order to do that. The idea of the support system is enticing - he wants it for himself, but right now, he feels this duty to Emperor Belos that he can’t disobey. It’s scary, leaving the comfort of familiarity, and he has nothing outside of the Coven and Belos (and now Rascal). That’s something for him to think on, but that’s a back burner thought. That’s when he sees the portal key.
The portal key. It’s around Amity’s neck the whole time - it’s filled with the Titan’s blood which is what they were after in the first place, and perhaps it’s the only remaining amount of Titan’s blood in the Boiling Isles. It’s clever that our crew only learn about the blood being in the key through Hunter - it’s a way to force them to interact, and a way to show off the dichotomy that is Amity and Hunter. Storytelling genius aside, what happens with the key and the blood is so, so important. Amity grabs the key, and it’s only when Hunter threatens Luz that Amity squeezes the key, breaking it. She’s a smart girl - she knew exactly what she was doing when she broke it. She knows she needs to give the blood to Hunter because she doesn’t want him coming after Luz and hurting her in any way, but there’s another layer to this: she understands Hunter’s situation better than anyone, and sympathizes. She doesn’t want him to get punished, because she understands the consequences and the shame of failing a task that was supposed to prove your worth. So she compromises - Luz needs the Titan’s blood to make the portal to get back home, but Hunter needs it too so he can live to see another day, to feel safe for a little while and make up for his past failure - she takes as much blood as she can in her glove, but she leaves some behind in the key for Hunter. While she was mostly giving him some of the blood so that he wouldn’t attack Luz, she was also doing it out of kindness and sympathy as well, which shows us just how much she’s grown since she’s met Luz.
And then we see the frames where Hunter looks at the broken key with blood dripping out of it. Now we as the audience know that Hunter knows and understands what Amity’s done. It’s true, she wasn’t willing to risk Luz’s safety, but she also could’ve absolutely destroyed Hunter if she wanted to. (This is a kids’ show so obviously that wouldn’t have happened, but she had him at knifepoint, and totally could’ve threatened him with his own demise.) Hunter seeing the broken key lets him know not only that Amity is incredibly smart and also that she won’t give up that easily. Even more importantly, he knows that even though they’re on opposite sides, she recognizes his humanity and personhood, and understands that he’s in a bad place and this can help him be safe. (They’re obviously not thinking long term. No one really knows what Belos is trying to do.) Her recognition of his personhood is likely going to be a step towards what I believe will be a growth arc of some kind, one where he breaks free from the Coven and learns to be his own self.
I’m excited to see how the rest of this will play out. We’re getting so much more depth on these characters, and I’m curious to see what story Dana Terrace wants to tell.

Day 27 of the 31 day fan fiction challenge!!
Little angsty again.
Have fun!
Haunt
It was suppose to get easier after Belos was defeated. Everyone in the Isles are free of his tyranny and they are rebuilding. Witches can now study all tracks of magic now. Everyone is happy. All except one witch.
_______________________________________________
Luz haunts her everywhere she goes. Not in a bad way though. More of "everything reminds me of her." Amity has been trying to move on every since that fateful night.
*** "Has anyone seen Luz???" Eda yelled.
The group looked around and since Eda didn't have an answer, she yelled back to them.
"I'm going to fly and see if she's somewhere in the rubble."
They were able to defeat Belos, but Luz somehow got separated from them. Amity has a theory that Belos did that on purpose. The group was able to gather their palisman together to create a forcefield. Eda was the only one not affected by the blast.
"Okay everyone. Split up until we find Luz!" Amity shouted.
They checked for what seemed like hours until they heard King yell for Eda.
Amity was the person there after Eda and she can tell by Eda's posture that something happened.
"Is that all you found, King?" Eda asked.
King nodded and hugged his adoptive mother's leg.
Amity was starting to get nervous. The rest of the gang showed up and saw what was unfolding in front of them.
Eda turned around to Amity with tears in her eyes. She crouched down and gestured to Amity to hold out her hand. She dropped Luz's tamagotchi into Amity's hand.
Amity is in a state of disbelief. "No."
"I'm sorry, Amity," Eda cried.
"No, no, she can't be! SHE CAN'T BE!"
Amity flew off and cried for the rest of the night.***
She still holds on to that tamagotchi. She hopes one day that Luz will message her.
The group knows to leave Amity alone on this day. Amity walks to the statue that Lilith commissioned for Luz. Amity looks at the description on the base.
Luz Noceda- First Human Witch in the Boiling Isles-Trained by Eda, the Owl Lady-Savior of the Isles
"Hey Luz. It's been five years since we defeated Belos. Lilith is doing a good job rebuilding the Isles and the Coven system. Hunter is training new witches like himself, you know, no bile sac and all. Emira got married to Viney, which you would've loved because Puddles was a part of the wedding party." Amity chuckles. "Edric, surprisingly, has taken up the family business with my dad. Gus is teaching at Hexside, Human Studies of course. Eda is helping out at Hexside with teaching, but also helps Lilith with running the Isles. Willow runs a flower shop, and her and Hunter are going strong. I know, we never would've thought Willow and Hunter together?" Amity chuckles again. "They kind of remind me of us. You know, enemies to lovers. The classic love story...." Amity trails off. She starts to tear up. "I know I have to let you go at some point, but it's hard. You had such an impact on my life. I promised to keep you safe and I didn't do that. I know what you would say, it wasn't my fault, but I feel like I could've done something more," Amity cries. "As I said before, you always find a way to sneak into peoples' hearts, and you stay in there hearts. I just want to bring you back!" Amity lays her head on the base of the statue. "I miss you so much! I know everyone misses you and I would love to bring you back, but I can't. I'm trying to accept that you're gone, but I'm also a hopeless romantic. I hope that you somehow magically walk back into our lives and we would be together again." She looks up at Luz's statue. "I love you, Luz. And I will never stop loving you."
Amity wipes away her tears and turns around to leave.
"Thank Titan you're a hopeless romantic Amity Blight."
Amity looks up and her eyes go wide. "Luz?"
Luz smiles, "Sorry it took so long to get back. It takes longer to build a portal in the human realm."
They run towards each other, crying. 5 years of waiting for each other are gone as they kiss, looking forward to a new chapter in their lives.

(This isn't an anti-Eda, anti-Lilith or anti-Bump post. Just read this fully, please!)
Murder and violence are not ok!
This whole thing started literally after s1ep2 where Eda murdered a dude on screen.
What am I talking about?
"It's just a cartoon. Don't read too much into it."
I don't have a very strong opinion on this but I'm not a fan of normalizing murder. Also "Heroes that are genocidal maniacs, kill the villain cause he's awful." sounds extremely cringe.
And why are you reading a post that analyses a part of a cartoon right now?
"Death is normal on the Boiling isles, so that makes it ok."
Woah, woah! WHAT?
If everyone used that logic, slavery would still be a thing.
Just cause it's normalized in a culture doesn't mean it's less harmful or that everyone that comes from that culture does it.
It can be used to explain someone's actions, but not excuse them.
The ignorance of context.
1. Eda's murders
First I wanna point out that it was never emotional, it was all calculated. Remember when Tibbles scammed her, she didn't attack him back. None of her kills are revenge. She has always had something to win from them.
She has murdered two people, probably more, Adegast and Tibbles.
If she didn't kill Adegast. I can see this going two ways. He would starve to death, which means she put him out of his misery or he would slowly go back to full power which ties with Tibbles.
Batman kills the Joker.
No they are not as bad as the Joker but they would have continued trying to hurt her untill they got the idea of killing Willow and Gus in their sleep. TIBBLES KNEW THEIR ADDRESS!
Also if they were willing to do this. Who knows what else they have done to other people too. By doing this she has saved more lifes than she has taken (mostly kids).
Plus this willingness to kill is probably the reason Luz can go to school. Eda's enemies know that if they become an actual treat, things won't end well.
Her enemies are criminals. They are not stupid enough to think that she is helpless without magic. Especially now that she isn't running from the law.
- Now on to almost killing Amity in s1ep5 by making Luz cheat. That was messed up but not that badly.
Witches are harder to hurt, there were healers around who would help a Blight. She saw Amity use abomination so she knew mainly her traps were gonna be activated by a non-living thing.
Luz was going to be injured if that didn't happen. Amity was not in control of her strength and I don't think Lilith thought this trough. Though both sisters would have probably intervened when this got out of hand.
She also isn't the one to force Luz into the fight as many people have said. She has never on screen forced her opinion on someone else except in s1ep9 which was to protect her from school and changed in that episode. Luz just couldn't leave cause quitting ment never being able to perform magic.
Now I know that the right thing to do here was for her to try talk things through. I'm just saying it's not as bad as it seems.
2. Eda's scamming
To get my point across I'm gonna compare it to Wordlob.
Hers is the equivalent of you trying to buy gold and getting plastic. His is the equivalent of you're desperate for a cure and he promises to give it to you and then steals all your money and leaves you to die.
You're not going to try to buy gold when your desperate are you?
Scamming can take different forms and hers is the least harmful.
And consider this, what else can she do to put food on the table with her two adopted kids, Hooty and Owlbert. She can't find a legal job, cause that would be helping Belos, she'll die before she does that and she definitely knows ways to disguise herself but that puts her at risk as well.
3. Lilith's redemption arc still works
Yes, she did murder a bird in s1ep18, but the way it talked and acted. It seemed like it was mimicking speach.
Yes, she did almost kill a child, but she has made up for it probably in that week and a half that we didn't see considering this is the Boiling isles and everything is trying to kill you.
Plus, Eda only talked about the curse, considering "You hurt Luz, you cursed me!" She is not the person who would forget about her kid.
Bonus, she did make up for it on screen as well. In s2ep2 she saved King from Eda's experiments. In s2ep3 she saved Luz and King with her ice glyphs, when she could have just left, giving time for Eda to get them out of there. If Eda didn't show up Lilith would be dead.
4. Bump's jokes
- Dissecting Luz
I don't know why everyone talks about Bump and Amity trying to dissect Luz. They weren't certain if this was going to kill her. They weren't certain if she was alive. All they knew was that the lie will be broken if this would kill her.
Yes, they did try to catch her later on, but not to kill her. They wanted to make sense of what's going on and hopefully find her parents so she gets at the very least a talk on why she shouldn't do this.
Willow just overreacted which in return made Luz do the same.
- Bump's detention room
This room is a hypnosis one. Hypnosis is a job in real life. It can be dangerous but that can also be said about therapy if the therapist is bad. Depends on who does it.
"Impressive still alive!" This is a joke.
If a hypnotic session is stopped in the middle, you'd be too relaxed to be able to move. He was fine, he just needed some time.
- Bump's add
Everything that attacked Matt was alive. He probably did something to piss them off. But yeah Bump should have done something.
- Detention track
Guys knowing what he did for Willow in s1ep3, it's obvious that he was in a lot of stress. If he did what he did in that episode regularly. You just touch an orb and byeeeeee. Then this place should have been crowded.
Plus the wall with troublemakers' names had what six names and a portrait of lord calamity. Eda left school before three decades. And that's all we got.
He was probably not gonna keep them there even though he said so. He probably wasn't even planning that.
- Grom was very messed up. I have nothing to say except I wouldn't be surprised if the Emporer's coven forces this to be a thing and refuses to send actual adults, so the kids learn from a young age or whatever.
- Same with the photomemory class.
- "Bosha got away with murder. I can't say I approve, but at least she's trying new things."
This was a joke. Bosha's parents definitely have influence. His hands are tied like usual so he has learned to make jokes out of it. Plus since when are principals responsible for what happens out of school grounds.
5. The bat queen
She is a protector of palismans and I don't think she started to kill until the government was against her (I'm talking about her cave having bones all over it.)
I can't say it's completely justified like I did with Eda. But I don't see a way out of it where palisman wouldn't be extinct.
Now let's see our vilians' behaviour
1. Adegast
He was trying to kill Eda for his business by using a child as a bait.
2. Tibbles
He almost murdered four children so his stand is revenged.
3. Piniate
Is keeping people captive and literally is making them helpless as a punishment for not writing a book.
4. Demon hunters
They were gonna trow kids off a cliff. I'm not sure why actually.
5. The cat ladies
They were kidnapping children for their cafe.
6. The "coven" inspecture
She was stealing all the magic from none other than kids for power.
7. Wordlob
Who knows how many people have died, lost their jobs and so one, cause of his scams. All for money.
8. Warden wrath
He cut Eda's head so she goes out with him. Captures people for nothing.
9. Odalia and Alador
Alador was not stopping Odalia from trying to kill Luz. In their mind this was gonna help in combination with their child abuse, with their daughter helping their business. Everything they have done for now is for their business.
They backed up when Alador saw an opportunity for THEIR BUSINESS.
10. Kikimora
She tried to murder a child, cause of jealousy. Uses her authority to make the system even worse, cause how dare them look in her direction.
11. Belos
Is abusing a child and abused Lilith. Is the reason that palisman are getting extinct. Wild magic= death sentence. Basically created a horrible authority system that has created a lot of suffering and who knows how many it has killed. Probably all for power, though we don't know completely.

Adding a New Crack Idea for the Owl House.
Just like imagine Eda introducing someone to her huge family that she ends up gaining by the end of the series. Like after they over throw Belos or something.
Eda: This is one of my adopted dumb kids, Willow. She's the only one with common sense, the voice of reason, and probably the only reason we're all still sane.
Willow: LUZ. NO. SPIT IT OUT. SPIT THAT OUT RIGHT NOW. (Sighs as Luz ignores her and rubs her temples)
Eda: Aaaannnd, that would be Luz, my other adopted child who is the most precious thing cuz she lights up everyone's lives and if anyone hurts her I kill them.
Luz: Gus! Look! I can fit eighteen marshmallows in my mouth!(Chubby Bunny)
Gus: Fascinating. (Also cheering her on as Willow stares into the camera like the office.)
Eda: That’s dumb kid number three, and is the youngest of the bunch. His later teenage years are something I fear.
Amity: (storming into the room from the hallway) I SWEAR TO ALL THINGS UNDER THE SUN I AM COMMITTING A DOUBLE MURDER!
Eda: That’s the other addition to the dumb kid squad, but at least she remembers to breathe when she's around Luz nowadays. She's a feisty one. She beats up Hooty.
Ed and Em entering with smirks on their faces and Luz is quickly chewing her marshmallows so she can attempt to calm a very angry Amity. Gus, luckily remembers the hemlock remover to save Luz from choking and Willow is also attempting to plead with Amity's better nature.
Ed: Mittens, we were joking!
Em: It's not like anyone is going to find out!
Eda: Oh yes, Trouble 1 & Trouble 2. I take back any statements about Luz being the sole reason of giving me grey hairs, because those two helped create some. I never know if an explosion is because someone tried to attack or they blew something up. But keeps things lively.
King: WHO TOOK MY GENERAL?! WHICH ONE OF YOU LOWLIVES HAVE IT?! I DEMAND TO KNOW. (Screaming from the hallway as he approaches.)
Eda: Oh, and that's King, my oldest child who never fears to snark back and somedays I debate shaving him for the things he pulls. Love him to death though, but he doesn't and will never know that. Can't have him thinking I'm soft.
Lilith: FOR THE LOVE OF TITAN! (Holding a feral Amity back from her siblings while also scolding the Twins.) WE HAD ONE RULE. ONE. AND-
Eda: And then there's my sister, Lily, who hasn't realized a few things. One, she's a mother and the second she realizes that, I make bank off of the kids. Two, she's an aunt, but she's getting pretty close to that one. And three, (raises her voice) DESPITE CURSING ME (back to normal) my sister has grown into a better person.
Hooty: DON'T FORGET ABOUT ME HOOT, HOOT! I LIVE HERE TOO! I AM WHAT YOU LIVE IN AFTER ALLLLLLL!
Eda: Shut it before I give permission to muzzle you again!
Hooty: So rude! Geez! Hoot!
Eda: (Rubbing her temples) That is Hooty. My security system that at least everyone in this house minus myself, Willow, Gus, and Luz has nearly murdered at least once.
Camila: You know one of them is my child, correct?
Eda: How you feel about co-parenting?

oh snap, I was waiting to see your thoughts on the new TOH titles! 👀 Hollow Mind was the title that felt the most cryptic to me, but you're right, it does give off possession vibes... though my first, kind of vague thought, was that maybe this is the episode where Luz finally visits the Titan's skull? maybe even enters its hollowed-out brain cavity to communicate with it better? maybe it's a stretch, but I'm hopeful to see Luz communicate with the Titan somehow, and finally reveal some juicy details about its relation with Belos
Okay firstly; WOW that means a lot to hear from you, I really appreciate it!
Secondly, that’s a really good idea; Hollow Mind for a hollow head! The Titan’s mind is hollowed out... We’d probably see Dell then, since it was mentioned he was visiting the skull after all! So we’d probably get lore on the Wittebane brothers, and how Hunter’s ortet is Dell’s ancestor; Making Eda and Lilith part of the Wittebane lineage!
THIS would be an earth-shattering revelation, especially if Philip is Belos comes before or at the same time! And yeah, I’m itching to see what the Titan itself has to say on Belos, if anything; What is their actual relationship? Is it all bogus? Why the Titan, does Belos actually believe he was chosen and/or is it a handy excuse? Will we get more Titan lore, such as the Collector, and the other a Titan fragments; Leading us into the next episode, Edge of the World where we explore the seas for their pieces! Including the one from the Owl Beast’s flashback... If it DID come from a third realm entirely, this might be where its home and the Demon Realm intersect, hence the title!
So we could learn where the Titans came from and why only one is intact, their relationship with magic, the in-between, etc... Maybe Titans travel to other worlds and when they die, they bring magic to this world? Just another long cycle, and Belos is seeking to hurry it up by depositing the Boiling Isles Titan into the human world, rather than wait for a new Titan to grow and die there! Which could get into the theory that King’s species are Titans or related to them... If there’s inter species variation, it’d help explain any discrepancies!
That gets to the idea of King and his father as sources of blood, fixing some issues but also making them targets... Plus lore on King’s dad and the Portal and how he presumably helped Philip create it, and then was besieged by Belos in a failed attempt to make another one and/or bury the evidence. If King’s species travel across realms as nomads, it’d explain their knowledge of portals and tie into the idea of a Titan life cycle; Maybe one member of that species is uplifted via magic to become a Titan and in their sacrifice, grant magic? Either way Belos is trying to rush and control nature, which makes sense given where he came from and what he stands for.
And if we’re exploring Titan biology, perhaps Luz is looking to communicate with the Titan, so we finally get that speculation of her becoming a true speaker for it, not Belos! Maybe the Titan teaches her stuff about Belos and his magic, lets her connect to its nervous system to be one with the isles and find any kissing blood deposits. Help Luz get a feel for the ravages left by Belos and the history of the isles and its species that led to his rise, and maybe learn what’s up with that castle and the heart in its chest... Maybe a reveal that Belos is trying to resurrect the Titan under his control? And he’s hollowed out the skull and replaced it with some sort of automaton or something, to replace its mind with his own??? Could this be where Grimwalker Hunter comes into play; A subservient mind to become the Titan’s or, to host its reborn intellect? Gives new meaning to Hollow Mind beyond the literal one...!

talking about toh | season two, episode four: keeping up a-fear-ances
i ytfugijkvcghdt what
previous | first | next spoilers under the cut, as always
the beginning
my goodness that owl thing is terrifying! i think we saw it briefly in that one promo but still!
young eda is back!
honestly, i thought eda ran away from home after she was cursed. i guess i was wrong.
when the healing coven dude gives eda the gem and says it's in style for young witches, i'm reasonably sure that's a reference to the fact that her gem wasn't originally meant to be an indicator of her curse. if i'm correct, that idea didn't even come about until "the intruder".
i love how eda has a poster in her room for rats, clearly a paridy of the musical cats. musical theatre nerd eda? anyone?
i'll talk more about this later, but we finally get to meet eda's mom! i like how she isn't painted as good or evil, just in between. she also seems to share eda's distaste for the coven system (though not as severe).
so even eda doesn't know where the door to the human realm came from, huh? interesting.
it doesn't look like eda's nickname came from her mom, or from lilith, since they both call her "edalyn" a majority of the time. did she start going by eda in school? did it come from her dad? did it come from somewhere else? huh?
the plot
i think it's kinda neat how eda's gold fang isn't actually meant to be a tooth replacement. it just makes her look cool. very on-brand for eda.
we now have confirmation-- more or less-- as to how the elixir tastes. apparently it's gross.
big fan of eda's new outfit. very much her style.
when eda said "beans" i thought she said "memes".
i love some of the visual humor in this show. the tea leaves "shrugging" made me giggle.
poor luz, she really wants to see her mom again. i can't imagine what that's like given that my mom is mediocre at best and makes me feel like shit a lot of the time but that must really suck. oops, sorry, too personal? let's move on.
i am a huge fan of how much closer eda and lilith seem to be now. they aren't enemies anymore, and that's great.
so witches can't detatch their limbs unless they're cursed? for some reason i thought that was universal.
okay, now we can talk about mrs. clawthorne. i saw her in the trailer, and i knew she wasn't eda because of her palisman. as a matter of fact, it's interesting that all three known clawthornes have bird palismans (palismen?). "escape of the palisman" reveals that not every palisman is a bird. is it a coincidence? is it a family tradition? i'm leaning more toward the latter.
but wow, gwen clawthorne. right off the bat i knew there would be people simping for her. i mean, people simp for both of her daughters, so it only makes sense. now, i'm ace, so i don't know much about milf, but does this make her a gilf? since she'd the mother of two milfs? (or are they still milfs if i don't want to--? never mind.)
i was expecting to dislike gwen, but i honestly ended up enjoying her character. sure, she can be a bit... much... but she loves her daughters.
oh, here's an odd detail. both gwen and eda's names end with "lyn", but lilith's doesn't. coincidence? no?
i would love to hear gwen's "strong words" for belos. let him get told off by an old lady!
aww, poor lilith just wants her mom to acknowledge her. it's not fun being the least favorite. i feel you on that one, lily. the older child is always less favored.
canon confirmation that lilith dyes her hair! i think dana said she did in an ama but now it's truly canon.
i knew something was fishy with wartlock from the beginning. there is no way he could have been legit.
i feel so bad for king. now that he knows he has a dad out there, all he wants in the world is to find him. poor thing.
what the hell is "knife season"?! is that a thing?
not gonna lie, i thought king and lilith got drunk off that ice cream. or maybe they did, and i'm just that bad at recognizing that stuff.
also, loving the lilith-king development. always great when two characters bond over angst.
"you know things are bad when hooty is the voice of reason." ~me, to my friend
honestly, a jar of bees would certainly help me with existential dread. i love bees.
i can't say i'm surprised that gwen's "cure" was just a bunch of made up bs. there's no way they could heal eda so early in the season.
gotta say, owl beast lilith looks dope.
i'm really happy that gwen learned to listen to eda. that's not something every mother learns.
i noticed that gwen was from the beastkeeper coven since we saw her in the promo, because i'd recognized the logo on her arm, but i think her controlling the bees was really cool. maybe i know what coven i would join. then again, i'm pretty much with eda on the "covens bad individualism good" front.
also, it looks like badassery runs in the family just as much as bird palismen do.
can we start a petition to help morton stay in business? he deserves it.
it was really interesting to see eda's point of view when she's the owl beast. it looks like she has to fight with the creature from the beginning for dominance over her own body.
the end
hoo boy. h o o b o y .
okay, let's start at the beginning. of the end. okay.
first of all, it shatters my heart into pieces that lilith is going to live with her mom now. i was just growing to like her, too.
and poor hooty! he found someone who considered him a real friend, only to have her ripped away just three episodes later. i hope she comes back soon.
is episode five going to be the episode where we find out that amity works at the library? (don't answer that, it's a rhetorical question.)
okay, now let's get to the real mind-boggling part: false luz. what--or who--the heck is she?! i've seen a lot of theories about that, ever since we saw the letters at the end of "enchanting grom fright", and we have options. i'll go more into those in the next section.
predictions
belos being behind this new false luz makes a lot of sense, since he's the main bad guy as of now. it's the most likely theory for now, but i feel like it's a bit too predictable.
eda was an option before, but now that she has no powers or access to the human realm, that's off the table.
i've seen theories about amity being behind it, but i suggest a new (and probably false) one.
what about the twins? it could be a situation similar to gwen's determination to heal eda's curse. ed and em seem to care about their sister (more or less), so it makes sense that they would do anything for her to be happy, and for her to be with the person that makes her happy-- even if it means trapping said person in a realm that isn't her own. besides, they're both in the illusions track, and from what we've seen they're very good at it. what if they're the ones who made false luz? i don't know if illusions can interact with things around them, like false luz does with the tissue box, but maybe advanced ones can? also, can you cast illusions in the human realm without a portal? out of all of guesses so far it's probably the least likely, but it's still an interesting concept.
on the topic of illusionists, we also have gus as a suspect. however, we can tell when he's controlling illusions, so surely we would have seen it by now. that does provide an argument against the blight twins being the culprits, but they are both older and more experienced. i'm sure their expertise in their track is similar to amity's in the abominations track, if their parents' expectations of them are anything like their expectations of amity. maybe skilled illusionists can control their illusions with their minds alone? or they can create semi-sentient illusions?
okay, that's enough crazed conspiracy-theorist rambling for today. see y'all next week for episode five!

Could I ask for some more of the wonderful fluff that is Wilumity domestic headcannons? Or, possibly if you have any, some Camileda headcannons?
*GASPS*
ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS
Willumity:
Willow is the early-riser. She’s developed a habit of waking up early to check on her plants and do her workouts. Luz and Amity have no idea how she does this every single day (they often complain because she’s also a huge source of warmth and how dare she leave their little warmth cocoon).
Amity has Routines™️ that cannot be disrupted or she will freak out. It’s an autism thing for sure, but it’s also something Luz gets. Because Willow gets up so early they tend to have their own little morning routine together; stay in bed and cuddle for maybe another half hour or so (depending on how early Willow wakes up), then they get up and do their bathroom routines. I think.....Luz is the type to do night time showers due to having such short hair, so Amity showers while Luz brushes her teeth and washes her face. Luz is usually dressed by the time Amity gets out of the shower and she gives her a quick kiss on the cheek to let her know she’s headed to the kitchen to get coffee/breakfast started. There have been a couple times Luz has forgotten to give her her after-shower kiss and Amity was so thrown off that by the time she made it out to the kitchen, her eyes were red from crying because A) Did Luz not love her anymore??????????? (incorrect, but their routine had been broken) and B) Trying to continue with your routine with a step actively missing is hell and she’s been upset ever since. Luz has usually just been too tired to remember and will immediately cover Amity in kisses to make up for it (after they go through whatever process they need to to help Amity calm down). Amity hates that she gets so upset over something so small, but Luz reassures her that her routines are important to Amity and it’s okay to be upset when those routines are disrupted. Whenever Willow catches them like this after her workouts, she requests a kiss from each of her girls on either cheek before she goes into the shower herself (usually to lighten the mood because it always makes Amity happy when Willow mimics Amity’s routine habits [it always works]).
Surprisingly, Luz is the one that does the grocery shopping. Willow knows what fruits and veggies they can grow to add into meals and how to prep food for the plants that actually eat, but she’s not especially well-versed in like. Meals. Amity has like 3 meals she knows how to make properly because they’re her favorites. Luz, with her mom’s recipes in her arsenal along with whatever wild dishes Eda’s made for her over the years while she lived in the Owl House, has the largest repertoire of Human/Witch meals under her belt. Plus, she always ends up getting little treats for her wives while she’s at the market that they adore. (Luz both loves and hates when her girls ask to go with her to help; she loves spending time with them, but she hates that they don’t know Luz’s system. She’s got a pattern that she follows and they’re just all over the place whenever they come with her.)
Every Saturday night is Date Night and one person is assigned with coming up with what they do that night. They take turns every week; Willow enjoys quiet nights in at home with them, romantic dinners with candle light and soft music while they chat about their day // Amity enjoys taking them out for romantic picnics if the weather allows, they have a few Favorite Spots they picnic at, but sometimes they just climb up on the roof. Luz always asks them to tell her about the Demon Realms constellations and their history because she loves hearing them talk. // Luz enjoys taking them to the Human Realm to visit some of her favorite restaurants and walk around a local park and watch the stars afterwards. She’ll tell them about all of the constellations she can remember (Percy Jackson phase anyone? Yeah, we all knew those shits names and constellations when we were in it, huh?). She’ll tell them her favorite stories behind each kind of constellation and tell them which ones remind her of her girls.
I 100% do not know what kind of jobs these girls would have as adults. I mean, Willow more than likely has a public garden she maintains, but I have no idea with Luz and Amity. I’ve seen a lot of headcanons in fics and art about Luz going into politics after defeating Belos but like. Luz? Luz Noceda? In Politics???????? Even in the Demon Realm I highly doubt that would happen. I think she might want to continue researching magic and how she’d be able to find glyphs for specific kinds of magic, creating new magic, etc. She might write books? Both fiction and non-fiction. I think she writes some memoirs about her life before coming to the Boiling Isles and before defeating Belos, but she’s been wanting to be a fiction writer since she was 7 years old. She’s got her own fiction series for sure. Amity might get into politics but I also doubt that. She might just be the editor and publisher for Luz’s books. Or she might work at the Library. I really don’t know. But Luz Noceda, ADHD extraordinaire, going into politics? I’d sooner expect that of Willow. And she’s already got her girls and her gardens.
They’ve got a Wednesday night book club. But it’s just them in their living room reading their own separate books after dinner until they get tired. They’ll all cuddle up together either on the couch or the floor or in bed or wherever and just sit and read in comfortable silence. Often times one of them will start absentmindedly start running their fingers through one of their partner’s hair and cause that partner to fall asleep. It is not uncommon for them to wake up in the same spot they were in for their book club with their books laying about and cramps in their necks. It’s one of their favorite things they do together.
Camileda:
Camila likes to sneak pictures of Eda in the morning cuz she thinks she looks especially cute when she’s not fully conscious yet.
Camila has no idea what the fuck is up with Eda’s hair. She’s tried asking both Luz and even Lilith but neither were able to give her an answer. They both only have theories. Eda always spouts some new ridiculous thing whenever anyone asks (she actually has a small, contained black hole at the back of her head that she uses to just store random shit // she cast an enchantment on her hair years ago to be able to use it like a Bag of Holding so she didn’t actually ever have to carry a bag // she was just born with hair that can hold seemingly anything and has never questioned it // etc.), so one day Camila just asks her. Eda tells her the truth; she doesn’t know either.
Regardless of the fucking enigma that is Eda’s hair, she still enjoys helping her wash and maintain it. Eda refuses to admit in the few first months they start dating, but she adores when Camila plays with her hair. Her hair is an integral part of who she is and it’s shockingly more intimate to her than anyone would guess when the allows others to touch her hair. She loves listening to Camila talk about her day while she braids tiny details into her hair. One day, Camila was so angry about something that had happened at work that she ended up braiding some super intricate flower designs into Eda’s hair and actually used all of it. Lilith and Luz are both in shock and awe that Camila was able to tame Eda’s mane into something so gorgeous and Eda maybe didn’t take out the broads for a few days afterwards because she loved it so much.
They love learning about each other?? Their lives up to this point have been so culturally different that all of their stories have an air of magical mystery to them that the other is always dazzled by. Eda loves learning about how Camila grew up and how she decided to become a healer (a ‘nurse’ she insists but Eda doesn’t really know the difference). Camila loves listening to Eda’s many tales of mischief of her school days and after her school days; although she does get worried when Eda mentions that she’s been to jail (Eda insists that it was only for a little bit before she figured out how to bust out! And she made off with some extra cash to boot, so it was a double victory).
It’s one thing to hear about Luz’s accomplishments from her own daughter and from Eda; it’s another to hear them coming from her teachers. Camila goes with Eda to a Parent-Teacher conference at Hexside ready to hear about how much trouble she gets into and how she needs to sign off on different kinds of detention slips and reports of damage and whatever, but is pleasantly surprised to see all of the teachers actually praising her? Some are ecstatic about her presence in heir class? They’d all been taught that humans had no magical ability at all and Luz had come into their classrooms and proved them all wrong and even helped them understand some of the nuances of their own subjects they’d struggled with on their own. By the time the conference is over, (including an incredible review from Principal Bump that left even Eda feeling moved) Camila was clutching o Eda’s arms as they left the school and crying in happiness. Her daughter was doing so well in school. All of her teachers loved her! They didn’t have any complaints about her inattention or disruptive behavior because they knew she was learning her own way. And Eda had fought for Luz’s ability to attend the first school that made Luz actually feel good about herself. Let’s just say there were a lot of heartfelt kisses that night when they got home.
I personally like to think that Camila likes to dance. Like, profesional-levels of dance. Like she maybe minored in dance in college before buckling down on her medical degree. I like to think that sometimes Eda will find her humming along to some song playing from her phone and dancing an entire routine in tiny movements while she goes about doing whatever else. Sometimes Camila will just drop into a fucking perfect split while she’s trying to reach for something that rolled under a table or whatever that catches Eda so off guard that she has to leave the room to collect herself. (It’s Camila’s love for dance that made Luz want to try cheerleading at her human school. Her school didn’t have a formal dance team, so cheerleading was the next best thing. It’s also how Luz knows how to drop into a perfect split when she first tries on that Hexside uniform despite not ever attempting it before.)
Eda’s never had any formal dance training; she’s a head-banger kinda girl. During some of her earlier escapades into the human realm, she’d sneak into many concerts and blended in perfectly with the other attendees in the mosh pit. She loves when Camila tries to teach her some more formal dances that aren’t just a free-for-all. Eda does her best to learn how Merengue works but she often gets confused as to what point she’s supposed to lean or step or spin and she usually ends up dizzy with Camila giggling at her. Camila always helps her come out of her dizziness with little kisses pressed to Eda’s temples; Camila adores that Eda tries so hard.
They love teasing each other. That’s the whole headcanon. Nah, for real tho, they love trying to get under each other’s skin with little teasing remarks and eyebrow waggles and sticking their tongues out at each other when no one else is looking like they’re little kids. It’s one of the easiest ways to get the other to laugh and they love each other’s laughs. Eda brings out Camila’s deeply-buried immature goofball personality that she’s had to push down for years just due to the nature of her studies and work, as well as being a single mom. You don’t have a lot of space to be an immature goof when you’re responsible for a whole other human being. Eda helps coax that back out of her. (Luz can’t remember ever seeing her mom so happy as she is when she’s goofing off with Eda.)
Camila’s constantly poking at Eda’s elbows and hip bones and shoulders and muttering about how bony she is; Eda replies in kind by digging her elbows into Camila’s gut or directly into her face and hip-checking her.
In a similar vein, Eda adores Camila’s curves, and not even just in a sexy way. She just loves how soft and squishy Camila is because hugging her is so comfortable; Eda swears she could fall asleep standing up if she’s hugging Camila. She also swears by this because she knows that under all that squish is some serious muscle and Camila wouldn’t let her fall.
Not really a Camileda headcanon so much as it’s just a headcanon: Camila and Lilith have the same eyeglasses prescription. It’s bizarre, that doesn’t happen really, but somehow they have the exact same prescription. This is discovered one afternoon when Camila and Lilith both arrive at the Owl house at the same time. Camila removes her glasses and sets them on the coffee table to just relax for a while while she and Lilith make small talk (Long after Camila’s reluctant acceptance of her). Lilith goes picks out a book to read and sits on the other couch to settle in while Camila takes a cat nap and she just picks up Camila’s glasses out of years of habit of picking up her own glasses. She doesn’t even notice they’re not her glasses until Eda and Luz come home and ask why in the hell Lilith is wearing Camila’s glasses. Lilith is confused but takes off the glasses and blushes because for Titan’s sake, those aren’t her glasses, those are her sister’s girlfriend’s glasses!!!!!!! She sputters out her explanation while Eda laughs at her and Camila wakes up. They end up actually properly testing it out by swapping glasses and yup; exact same prescription. They end up accidentally hoarding stockpiling spare glasses all around the Owl House for either of them to grab when they need glasses.
Please always ask for Willumity and Camileda, those are the keys to my heart 💖💕💝✨💘💞✨💖💖💘💕💝💞

Luz IS a chosen one and here’s why
Tumblr media
Omg I deleted this the first time and have to start over from a super rough draft cuz I spelled chosen wrong in the image and I’m not even gunna fix it now cuz I’m bitter.
OK ok so I feel like I've seen most of this information theorized about individually but with wing it like witches I feel like a connected some dots and my brain's going to explode. So in this essay I will be telling you why Luz is a chosen one, who chose her, and why.
This theory contains some spoilers for wing it like witches, and potentially the show going forward.
So lets start with the theory and then we can go back and review the evidence.
Luz is a chosen one, she was chosen by the writer of the Azura books. This person wrote the Azura books to influence her and created Clone Lus so she can stay on the boiling isles. Her goal is to take down the emperors coven.
Now let me tell you why.
First, how do we know Luz has a clone?
Well we don't for sure, but the fact that when we are introduced to Gus's clone for the first time the show makes a point to show the clone misbehaving and having a personal identity outside of Gus makes me believe a clone developing it's own personality is something that will happen in the show. Now if Lus does have a clone that went to camp that means someone knew she was coming to the boiling isles. This was planned ahead of time. Owlbert is the one who leads Luz through the door, and it seems extremely intentional. This means it is someone who has a strong bond with Owlbert , which obviously leads to Eda, but I don't think it's her. Eda is genuinely surprised and confused by Luz, so that means it's someone who has a connection to Eda. Someone  Owlbert trusts and is willing to work for. Hmmm put a pin in that.
Now second, what evidence do we have that Luz is chosen and this was a long term scheme, not just a last minute decision?
The Azura books. With Wing it like witches I personally think it's impossible to ignore the blatant parallels between Luz, Amity, and the Azura books. I believe they were written and released in both dimensions to lead these girls in the right direction. They have had a ton of impact on both their lives and their relationship. Without these books they would not trust each other, and honestly would have missed out on a lot of character growth outside their relationship with each other. Luz wouldn't even have chosen to stay in the boiling isles if it wasn't for the cover art of an Azura book.
Not only that, but it’s pointed out MORE THAN ONCE that it’s strange that they have both read/watched Azura content. In the library Luz is surprised they are released on the boiling isles (letting us know this isn’t normal/expected) and amity is surprised in wlw that Luz has seen the same azura movie as her. I don’t believe this is a coincidence, the writers want us to be curious.
Third. Why Luz? What's so special about this human girl, and why would she be chosen for anything special?
Luz impacts everyone she meets, and the people she meets are important. She was intentionally matched with Eda, and not only has it softened Eda's heart but Luz gives her something to live for, to fight for. Twice in the first episode Eda seems willing to give in to capture only to change her mind when she realizes Luz is in danger. That's before she even knows Luz, what would she do for her now that she's her kid? Topple an entire oppressive government perhaps? Eda is a rebel but she’s not a revolutionary. She see’s the flaws with the system the way it is but she doesn’t have anything to push her to change it. Luz could be the key to that.
Now Amity, she freaking adores Luz, and that connection is only going to get stronger. The Azura books are pushing that connection hard. They WANT Amity to care about Luz. Why? Because Amity is connected to the emperors coven. She's a powerful witch well on her way to joining, and maybe eventually leading the emperors coven. Her mentor is the coven's leader and Amity likely has influence over her. Amity is intended to be the inside influence, or a spy, or something along those lines. Swaying her perspective can sway the power balance of the entire emperors coven if cards are played right.
And another reason Luz is chosen? She's powerful as HELL. Keep in mind she's only been learning magic for a FEW WEEKS, she only knows FIVE spells, and look what she's already accomplished. She has brought a house to life with her friends, and amplified Amity's magic enough to make a MASSIVE abomination. Theories are going around about that having to do with friendship or love or heart rates, but what if it's Luz? What if it's her connection to the island? Once she knows how to do a spell she doesn't struggle to cast it. If she has the glyph right she can cast it as big or small or as powerful as she likes regardless of the size of the glyph. She turns Grom into a massive tree with a glyph the size of a playing card. She is never tired after casting spells, she never runs out of magic, her form of magic combats creatures who can literally eat magic for dinner. Luz is no joke, she's a beast, and within weeks she's casting at levels on par with top students and graduated witches.
Now the final question. Who chose Luz?
The easy answer is Eda, because Owlbert is hers, but I don't think that's right. She seems too surprised by Luz and confused by her behaviors. She’s also too willing to let Luz leave. Emperor Belos is a decent guess too because we know he's trying to get to Eda, but why would he provide her with a powerful apprentice before he can even capture her? So I'm going to throw him out the window as well. Lilith? No, she was surprised Eda's apprentice was a human, and that she had an apprentice at all. Amity? lol no sorry. So who?
Someone we haven't met before. Mayhaps a character from season 2 that Dana is excited for??? Someone with access to powerful oracle magic to predict the future and identify Luz and what she needs to be guided down the right path, as well as illusion magic to create the Lus clone. Someone with close connections to Eda, that Owlbert would trust and work for. Someone who wants to take down Belos, and needs Eda's help to do it.
Maybe their relationship is strained, maybe Eda forgot her because of the curse, maybe there's a whole underground revolution and Eda's friend is just a part of it. I don't know, but I'm excited to find out if any of this theory is on par with what happens in canon.
hopefully I didn’t leave anything out. I’m so mad I deleted the post by mistake XD let me know what you think? Do you see any holes? Any additional evidence?

First time watching ToH S2E7 (Eda’s Requiem). Thoughts below:
Detailed thoughts:
I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again: I love how much Eda cares about Luz and King. After cutting contact w/ her mother and sister, those two really became her only family and, along w/ Willow and Gus, have really helped her get out of her shell and reconnect w/ the world. It’s touching to see how much she’s willing to do for them time and again, and crushing to see how she responds to the prospect of them one day leaving.
It’s for that reason why it’s so emotional for Eda to see King change his name to King Clawthorne. It’s a sign from him that, no matter what, Eda will always remain an important part of his life and that he won’t push her away for a father that he’s never known, but still wants to meet and reconnect.
I am curious whether that demon watching King’s video was actually his father and not another member of his family. I assume we’ll get to see them again one day, but I would accept it if that’s all we ever got about King’s father. Just knowing that his father did see King’s video and knows he’s doing well out there w/ a loving family is good enough for me.
I can’t say no to more Eda backstory, and this episode certainly provided that. I imagine Eda had to abandon her budding relationship w/ Raine after being cursed by Lilith and running away from home. The two haven’t seen each other since they were teenagers. Only now have the two gotten the chance to meet back up sometime past their 30s, and they still happen to have feelings for each other.
I really have to admire Raine for their dedication, willingly participating in the coven system and refining their skills until he could become the Coven Head and use the information he gathered to turn on Belos. Unfortunately, Raine’s courage to stand up and fight too, taking Eda’s advice to heart, leads to their movement being crushed the day after officially starting it.
At the end of the day, Raine is willing to give up their own life if it means protecting the lives of others, from going on raids to free wild witches to stopping Eda from continuing to play so that she can continue providing for Luz and King, recognizing that the main reason why Eda chose to join them was to run away from her own problems. Raine even confronts Darius and Eberwolf face-to-face and almost manages to escape from them too.
Hopefully, Raine’s performance in Bonesborough was enough to inspire others to resist too, whether now or later, especially since Bonesborough has resisted the Emperor’s will before in trying to get Eda freed. If Belos’ increased security after that incident can’t stop a few rebels from publicly humiliating him, then Belos might be in more trouble than he thinks, at least from his non-witch subjects.
Raine and their fate also gives us more information about Belos and his plan. Belos needs a lot of magic to unite the Human and Demon Realms, which will require the magic from all of the Coven Heads, wild witches, and judging by what we learned about the coven marks, every coven member in the Boiling Isles, which Belos will get from them, forcibly.
Speaking of Belos, what is his connection to the Human Realm? What’s w/ his fascination w/ it? He’s stated before that he doesn’t want to conquer it, w/ his vision to the Coven Heads showing that he plans on transporting the Titan to the Human Realm as part of his unification efforts, but why? Why the Human Realm specifically? Why go through the effort?
Furthermore, how does he know about the portal? Based on last episode, the portal was created by Philip Wittebane, who Luz figures must have lived during the 1600s, while Eda found the portal almost completely buried outside of an abandoned ruin. Was that Philip Wittebane’s house? Did Belos know Wittebane? We don’t know how old Belos is. He brought an end to the Savage Ages, but I don’t recall ever being told how long ago that was.
Belos states that his goal is to create a utopia, but for whom? Humans can’t innately perform magic. Since they lack a magical bile sac, they can only use glyphs. In that case, how does this benefit humans or witches? Who are the worthy that Belos is talking about? Also, how do demons fit into Belos’ vision of utopia?
If Hunter is unable to use magic, can Belos? Belos has an artificial magic staff like Hunter, but he doesn’t seem to need it to use his red telekinesis/ apparition powers. He reserves the right to mix magic for himself and the EC, which implies that he can, and he seems to use magic from the Beast Keeper and Construction Covens in his fight w/ Luz, although we don’t see him make any spell circles.
Is absorbing the bile from Palismen just for his curse? When Belos first appeared, his eyes were green after absorbing bile from a Palisman. Later on, his eyes were blue, which seems to be the default. Can people gain the ability to perform magic if they absorb magical bile? If so, then why not give Palismen to Hunter? Is it just because Belos needs so many for his curse?
General thoughts:
Eda keeps checklists and has been studying/experimenting w/ runes.
Eda keeps a picture of her, King, and Luz from Grom at her desk. c:
Aw, she loves them so much! <3
Is Eda worried about becoming an empty nester?
King mentioned leaving his closet, but he doesn’t mention leaving the Owl House.
Whatever’s going on w/ Eda’s magic seems concerning.
So winged scrolls are this world’s version of tablets?
I suppose we’re introducing the Coven Heads to phase out Hunter as an antagonist.
Goddammit Hooty! I had to curse at you this episode. How often does that happen?
The Gland Prix?
The power... of FISTS!
Also, Nose Girl’s back!
The Bards Against the Throne!
Man, bard magic seems incredibly powerful. I wonder why they don’t take advantage of it more?
Raine Whispers? Head of the Bard Coven and a resistance group? Don’t want to see what Belos does to them.
Hey! It’s the (Cat? Bat?) lady from the Conformatorium! Wow! Going an entire season before reappearing!
Oh, Eda still has a crush on Raine! ^^
Lean on him! Emotional support Hooty!
I suppose transporting the Titan to the Human Realm would require a tremendous amount of magic. Why does Belos want to unite the Human and Demon Realms anyway? Unless he does have a connection to them. Is that why he doesn’t take off his mask?
Eda had stage fright too?
Raine seems concerned about Eda’s curse destroying objects too.
Momma Eda! ^^
The Cup of Ephemeral Glory!
Is King going to give up his chance to find his dad to talk to Eda instead?
A tip about another raid sounded like a trap, and it turns it was.
Abomination magic can be used to transform and teleport people?
So tracking is part of the Beast Keeper Coven’s magic?
Does Raine want Eda to disintegrate them?
Beast keepers can perform summoning too?
Aww, Raine! ;-;
AWW, RAINE! ;_;
EDA’S ACTUALLY CRYING! ;_;
AWWW, EVERYONE’S WATCHING KING’S VIDEO!
IS THAT HIS DAD?!
AWWW, EDA AND LUZ ARE CRYING! ;_;
THE COVENS ARE A CONTROL SYSTEM, BUT IT’S EVEN MORE LITERAL THAN I THOUGHT!
