anyway i was thinking the other night about like. the importance and formative nature of one’s queer identity and how that shapes our perceptions etc of the world. additionally, how fluctuation and change in identity can impact us. i feel like The Captain is an identity that has thoroughly shaped cap as a person, and it’s going to be so hard for him to let go of that image of himself; just like, say, a queer person going through the motions of changing the language they use to describe their gender or sexuality. that’s a really difficult thing to go through, coming from my own experience lol. like, unlearning the whole thing of ‘this is who i am and how people see me and a thing i understand so intimately’. and then you realise, oh god, i’m not that, and it feels a bit like everything is falling apart because that was a place you belonged, and your sense of self. The Captain is cap’s sense of self even though it is inauthentic to his true self, and the military is a place he wants to belong despite his ostracisation in life, and going through that is a personal, complicated journey that i just delight in seeing portrayed this way. it’s fucking astounding writing and not only is it an important story in its own right, i think it’s a neat metaphor for queer people navigating self-actualisation and discovering labels (or the lack of labels) that make them feel like them :)

if i think too long about supernatural's general cosmic world building SPECIFICALLY with the relationship between death, the empty, the darkness, and the light, i start to crack like glass. it just feels like there is something there that could have been so much more interesting then what we got.

i know everyone has different theories on who the knight is but i haven’t seen anybody else here bring up how gaster is the man who gives you the egg, and egg in all caps wingdings which is how gaster talks is a hand pointing to the left and two hands pointing up, which is how the knight moves in chess (move one square, turn a corner, move two squares) coincidence? probably, but it’s interesting anyway
That's probably more a general one for Deltarune as a whole, since I have seen it mentioned before, but yeah, it's an interesting observation!

TOKYO REVENGERS SPOILERS (for reals, be careful)
Now that we know that Senju, Sanzu and Akashi (Takeomi now I guess) are all siblings I am even more intrigued by their family.
I was already a bit fascinated by Sanzu family cause that guy is nuts and I was very intrigued by his possibly family situation. And now that I know that he has, not one, but two siblings I am even more interested. Cause he said to Mucho in chapter 206 that he was an only child.
I am in need of more information. I really want to know the history. Specially cause Senju seems to like him a ton.
Speaking of Senju. Look at her in this chapter. I am in love with her. She is my child and I hope that absolutely nothing happens to her.

Watching the interview with Dana about the Clockwork Mansion left me with a lot more questions than answers, but one thing that stuck with me was when she said that Jindosh was researching if he invented ethics in the early models of the Assessment Chamber.
For those who haven't watched the video, please do, Dana is so great and I am so happy she designed my favourite level, but basically the old Assessment Chamber was supposed to be a huge obstacle course to test the Clockwork Soldier's ability to act on ethics and compassion. There would be traps where the Clockwork Soldier could choose one of two approaches - the easy one which would result in the death of a person or the more difficult one to save that person's life.
It's interesting to me that Jindosh who is considered a person without empathy, is willing to research that. And it's also ironic that he is willing to hurt people to teach ethics to machines. At the end of the day he didn't want to make just "killer robots", I think deep down that he knows what is right and wrong, he just considers himself outside of the equation. He has no regard to human life, yet he wanted machines that would regard human life. He doesn't care about the guards you kill, yet he harshly criticizes you for killing the staff and the guests. I think Jindosh has a binary system in his head where there are people he considers good and thus worthy of protection and people he considers bad and thus worthy of death. This kind of thinking is very in line with a child who had the perception that his own mother, a parent who should love you unconditionally hated him. He doesn't understand some ethical nuances, and sees himself as outside of the game of ethics he is trying to create.
I am glad that they scrapped that, because I don't need him to have a bigger body count, it makes his hard to defend him on here, but it's still a very interesting thought. And knowing this would've gone well with the originally intended option to leave him alone and not kill or electroshock him which was also scrapped. Jindosh was not an immediate threat to Emily once Sokolov was taken, and he is generally not a completely heartless mustache twisting supervillain. He has his own nuances and I am sad budget cuts prevented them from being explored.

WELCOME BACK TO ME OVERTHINKING OBEY ME!!! Today one specific game scene caught my eye and I wanna talk about it
Alright so, on the surface it seems pretty clear what he’s talking about right? People having sexual lust even if they seem all put together and perfect, however I think this line may be speaking more about the nature of lust and Asmo’s often boiled down character!
Let’s begin with the definition of lust itself
Okay so the first definition seems obvious right, all us smut fans and simps, but it’s the second one I’m more interested in:
A desire for something, not necessarily sexual! I think this is more connected to the screenshot. Despite Asmo’s personality being very Sex and flirting based I think he’s smart enough to know not everyone has sexual desires however everyone has some kind of desire, everyone lusts for something: money, power, love or really anything else that could be considered desirable! But not everyone will admit to it because it gives the impression you’re not content or lacking in some way.
Moving on, what does this say about Asmo as a character? Well I think it was a pretty early warning to people who wrote him off as nothing more then sex jokes that there’s more there then it seems, you see Asmo doesn’t get enough credit for being the perfect embodiment of his sin because he shows both definitions of lust to a T! He’s lustful in the traditional way yes but he also lusts for perfect beauty (shown in his very intense skin care rules and routines) as well at lusting for popularity (shown by his habit of posting everything to social media)!
But I’m probably overthinking it😅

Good morning! You mentioned how Gnosticism influenced your cosmology beliefs, and I think it's very interesting. So, can I ask if you can talk a little more about this? (I think cosmology is one of the most interesting parts when it comes to beliefs) Thank you have a lovely day.
"Influenced" would perhaps be not quite the right word; studying Gnosticism allowed me to clarify my beliefs for myself and put them into language.
I believe in the Creator - a source that makes existence possible and defines the nature of all, material and immaterial. It does not necessarily require veneration or has consciousness in the way humanity can recognise, really, as one would expect from an immeasurable multitude expressed thought an endless number of minds and items, separate and one through being contained within It. On the other hand, through the very awareness we are able to make the connection coscious; it can not be made or severed, as it is a matter of being itself. The Creator is infinitely good and kind, as, containing, experiencing, and being all at once, It can have nothing but acceptance, compassion, and love for all of Itself.
Through It are formed other spiritual beings, including what we would call gods; among them those that can be, with a certain backgroud knowledge, categorised as devils. Among them, too, is every other soul, friendly, hostile, hungry, giving, and everything in between.
Particular names aside, the one major disagreement I have with the mainstream Gnostic current is in the attitude towards the physical. In my personal and most humble opinion, the, well, badness of the earthly is a conclusion, not a prerequisite - and a conclusion one does not have to make.

I kinda hate how popular the Hades and Persephone myth got like every time I see the phrase “well actually she wanted to go” I always roll my eyes. It’s not even one of the more interesting ones either 😭
ik like rewriting a story once popularly titled "the r@pe of persephone" to make it romantic and say "actually, she wanted it!!" is not the slam dunk ww classics dweebs think it is. i'm sry ur horny for the Greek god of the underworld but maybe pick up a book or something to fill that gaping void in your life

A shape, y’know? Nothing firm. What is means is that the real world is essentially a simulation, anyway. I like that idea, that even if we’re not real, we represent a dynamic; a tiny finger tracing a line in the infinite. A shape. And then we’re gone.

one of my fave things about wei wuxian has gotta be the fact that he can play a song perfectly from memory, on nothing but a shitty piece of grass, after literally being dead for 16 years, after hearing the song ONCE as a teenager, while he was feverish, half-drowned, and mostly unconscious. but he still can't remember who fucking jin zixun is.

sometimes i get mad at the sequels for just how little info they give us about luke reforming the jedi order after the ot (and what info they do give us is GARBAGE) just bc i love imagining the sheer hilarity of luke running a week long jedi thinktank retreat on ach to with all the remaining surviving jedi to work out the rules of the new jedi order like can you imagine the CHAOS that would ensue??

maybe when i say "i want to have pride" i mean. i want to be unashamed. i want the whole structure, stem to stern, to make me unafraid to be what i am. i want it to be an afterthought. i want it to be a-fact-of-life, i want it to be like telling someone my star sign - totally without fear, without compromise, without flinch.
people tend to minimize it. oh, pride is just like (whatever). this is dangerous. i grew up in a time - not that long ago - that slapping a rainbow on something was entirely unheard of. i have this internal problem - i want kids to have access to every ugly target-brand mug. but i also don't think that the capitalism-as-a-friend is action enough.
because the shame of it is the problem. the shame on a desperate, personal level. that haunts us. the worry about going to new places; the fear on public transportation; the pause before we leave our homes. our pride isn't just wearing a rainbow. it is the courage we have to take with us, every day, to exist as we are.
i relax when i see someone in a rainbow shirt. i like when people put out their little flags. it feels like a second spring in june - there are places that slowly shake out their rainbow feathers. but a moment i am more fond of - when i take her hand, and i see someone else, just a little bit bolder for my courage, take his hand too.
and that courage cannot come from capitalism. it cannot come from policed expressions of the self or in the presence of police at all. that courage has to be personal, and it needs to be unashamed.
that is pride - our community, holding hands with each other, relying on each other for strength. saying - today, right now, you and i - we will not be afraid. that we are stronger together. we are an unstoppable wave if we stand with each other. our pride is also our extension of a little umbrella - i see you. you see me. you are safe and loved. i will help you be.
