Arven x Female Reader: Academy Prom
The entire academy is holding a prom. Everybody and their Pokémon are enjoying themselves. Pretty much the whole academy was focused on you and Arven. Cute cuddles near ending.
You were getting yourself and your female Mabosstiff, Barkley, ready for the Academy Prom. You were wearing a navy blue dress and Barkley had a bow atop her head. You were hoping to see Arven and his Mabosstiff attend the prom. But when you and Barkley showed up at the battlefield (where the prom was being held), you couldn’t see them anywhere among all the students and their Pokémon. That’s when you see Nemona and her Pawmot. “Nemona, have you seen Arven and Mabosstiff anywhere?” you asked her. “No,” Nemona said, “but hopefully they show up soon.”
Meanwhile, Arven was standing behind the doors with Director Clavell requesting a certain song for him and you to dance to. “Of course, Master Arven,” Clavell said, “we will also provide our special lights for the song. I will even play some other romantic songs for you two.” “Thank you, Director.” Arven said, straightening out his tie. Clavell nods and says, “Have a good time, Master Arven.”
Just then, the regular lights around the field went out. “What’s going on?” Penny asks. “It’s dark out here!” Nemona said. “Did we lose power or something?” a random student asked. “You still around, Barkley?” you called. “Boff!!” Barkley replied, still next to you.
Then the requested song, ‘Truly Madly Deeply’ by Savage Garden, started to play. “Aww, this is my favorite song!” you exclaim. Just then, a spotlight, along with some blue and green lights, come on. And right in front of you stood a sharply dressed Arven, holding his hand out to take yours. Everybody around the field cheered and clapped as you gracefully took Arven’s hand in yours after 10 seconds of your amazement and you both started to dance.
“You did this for me?” you asked Arven with a gentle smile. Arven caresses your jawline as he stares lovingly into your eyes. “I did it for us, darling.” he said. You rested your head against Arven’s chest as you both continued dancing. That’s when you feel his lips pressed on to the top of your head. Then you hear everybody on the field go, “AWWWW!!!!” at the little action. You blushed. Then you feel tears falling on your head. You look up to see Arven with tears streaming from his eyes. Sweet little tears of joy. “I love you, (Y/N)!” he says with a shaky breath. You wipe a tear away with your thumb and say, “I love you, too, Arven!” You and Arven hugged each other tight; his face in your shoulder.
Everybody around clapped as their Rotom Phones were floating in the air and snapping pics of you and Arven together. “Oh, they’re so cute together.” Nemona said. “Look at both their Mabosstiff together.” Penny said, pointing at Arven’s Mabosstiff and your Barkley nuzzled together and watching their trainers dancing and hugging each other.
Sometime later, you and Arven and both your Pokémon went back to his dorm room and went to cuddle on the bed. Arven looked into your shining (e/c) eyes and, in about thirty seconds, he kisses your lips. You return the kiss, running a hand through his long, wavy, blonde hair. Arven ran a hand slowly through your (h/c) hair, too. You two had spent the night together in Arven’s room after such a romantic night.
If anybody has a talented hand in artwork, please share in my inbox some drawings of Arven in a suit and Juliana in a dress. Thank you!

Hi,I've been thinking about your King/AK fanfictions for a long time, and ever since I first read them I've been wanting to ask you some stuff regarding these characters, but I wasn't sure if that would okay.If it is,I'd love to see your answers to these questions.
*Do you have any headcanons regarding AK I/II and King I/II?
*I absolutely adored the way you encapsulated AK I in your fics, and I was wondering if you'd be willing to speak about your interpretation of AK II? I'd love to see what you think of him, what kind of person you see him as,and maaybe what you think he might look like.
Your description of AK I was so on point,I can't help wondering what you might think AK II would look like too,and just..what you think of him in general.
*Do you have any more ideas regarding AK I and King I's relationship? I barely,if ever, see any content regarding them, and your fanfic about them was really touching (..I might've re-read it a bunch of times and cried a little bit over it.),It has made me want to know more of your interpretations and ideas you might have about them.
*In the chapter GRACE, AK said “I believe we do what we can with the time we have.”,and I wanted to know, were you referring to his heart disease in some way?
I felt like he said that because he himself was doing just that, his days were counted but he was doing what he could with the days he did have left.Never in his history is he shown to..stop? Like, not only is he written as a very adventurous man (travelling around the world, getting in fights with martial art masters just because he can,etc etc) but this trait appeared to show in every part of his life, not just in the form trouble-making/thrill seeking, but also in more serious situations. In T1,while literally spitting out blood and nearly passing out before a match,he kept going and stepped into the ring anyway,Armor King kept going up until his actual death, and appeared to have wanted to use all the time he had left as well as he could.
So,that line you wrote made think about all that and wonder if you intended it to be a subtle hint at his disease/health's state and the way you think he viewed.
*..Why did you give AK an accent? I liked that, but I'm curious lol,do you have any ideas of where he might be from,or is that just a little quirk you decided to give him?
*Your King I/King II fanfic touched me so deeply, and I admit that for a while,I couldn't stop reading it,I just kept coming back to it,honestly,it's become a bit of a comfort fanfic,it's just so sweet.Because of that,I would really like to know if you've got any more ideas regarding King II's childhood?
And that's all I wanted to ask,I hope these questions aren't a bother,I'm a big fan of your Tekken fanfics and reading your works just made me really want to see more of your thoughts on these characters.
Also, you've been a big inspiration for me and I absolutely adore your King/AK works, they are my favorite Tekken fanfictions ever and I hold them dearly,so,thank you for writing them!
Thank you so much for this ask! It's always a pleasure to read when one of my smaller stories has found a home with people who truly love the character. I'll try to answer some of your questions below!
Writing all of the Kings is something I find very peaceful and quite far removed from the hecticness of other Tekken characters. They all have this good solid honesty in them that I love writing.
In terms of headcanons, most my thoughts are more or less within the stories I've written for them. Father Sergio, the name I use for King I outside the ring, is taken from the irl Mexican wrestler and priest that King is based on. I headcanon King I as a Catholic Liberation theologian, and often draw from Gutiérrez, Boff, Romero and others for his ideas. It's something I'm quite familiar with and suits King's lifestyle well. Lots of these aspects of him leak into those around him too, and even though I hc AK1 as not sharing that faith, his faith is in King and the goodness he sees in him is something he wants to emulate. King II was raised in a Catholic orphanage and idolises his mentor, so I have him following this faith too. I headcanon the AK brothers as being Black and from Arizona, since that's where Armor King was trying to break up the fight with Craig Marduk that got him killed. I looked up videos on how people from his background might speak and I think elided some consonants from his speech, though mostly this was to distinguish his speech from King's and show a native familiarity with English. Those are probably my most significant hcs for them.
I think AKII is the hardest of the four of them, and he's got the most reason to be. He doesn't know King I as personally as his brother, and that gentleness that King leant to AK1 did not extend so much to AK2. AK2 made his livelihood in a tag team with an older brother he deeply respected, and rarely if ever do we see sympathy for his loss from other characters. I think he feels like King II's forgiveness of AK1's killer is a betrayal to AK1's legacy, and that Marduk isn't King's to forgive. It's him who lost a brother, a best friend, a business partner, a sparring partner. They were two halves of an act, and this remorseless killer continues to taunt him over this murder, as if this was part of ring drama and not real life. I think AKII is motivated by justice and taking matters into his own hand to look after his own. I don't recall if I have many hcs regarding his appearance. Possibly a short haircut for practicality.
For AK1 and King I's relationship, I think there's a kinship there akin to brotherhood, but also different from the kind of brotherhood the AKs share. King is someone AK1 admires, and he believes that just by being around him, he'll become a better person. For King, AK1 becomes his stability, the one place he doesn't have to be strong, because he's not in a pastoral role for him. To bring a fight to life, there is spectacle, trust, and art, which King and AK create together for others, but behind the scenes, there is grief, poverty, illness, frustration, despair, depression, loneliness, and I think the two of them find solace in one another and are pillars for when the other wavers.
Yes, the line in Grace, among other things is about AK's illness. His illness bookends that story, and he sets it aside to aid his friend. He too is facing mortality. The line is inspired by Gandalf's line to Frodo: "All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.” Yes, it is about AK who never stops, who always persists through the odds, but it's also a reflection of the wisdom he's gained from being around King, who rarely despairs despite the grimness of his situation. King is someone who strives to do good against insurmountable odds, so these words were to remind him also of his own strength.
At the moment I don't have many more ideas about King II's childhood, other than that I think he stepped up into a caring role for the other orphans because he idolised his teacher, and that this continued on after King's death. King II saw it as his duty to continue on that legacy at all costs, even if he might have preferred to go some other route in life himself. If I have any more thoughts though, you'll see them in another King or AK fic!
Thanks so much for these questions, I'm very happy to answer them and I know its quite a small fanbase for thinking about the lore and characters behind these guys. I definitely encourage you to write about them yourself - I think lots of your ideas and read of the characters sound great, and that you'd write some amazing stories about them!

SO TRUE about the trinity homilies!! I've gotten really bad ones and really 'meh' ones, and only 1 good one in my lifetime so far. any particular favorite articles online or things like that about the trinity that you favor?
BE STILL my beating heart. I'll give you some of my thoughts and then a list of book recs. Most of the articles that come to mind are academic ones that are behind a paywall - I tend not to read much of popular press, but you might find something if you search Catholic Women Preach, go through America Magazine, or even Youtube.
My thoughts:
The Trinity is one of the greatest mysteries of the Christian faith. A mystery meaning something to be pondered, rather than solved. It's a lot like trying to understand love, because love is so beautifully layered and complex and diverse. Who can fully comprehend the mysteriousness and depth of the human heart and its capacity for loving another? Take that and multiply it by infinity for God, who is love, who is loving itself, who is the act and existence and being of love, who loves into creation, loves unto death on a cross, and loves in sanctifying us and giving us strength. It's the noun of love, while verbing the act of love, and gerunding as the being of love. Love is boundless; there is the lover, the beloved, and the love itself. This is the Trinity in short: it is the lover (God), the beloved (Jesus, and through his humanity, all of us), and the love between them that is poured out on all humanity (the Holy Spirit). What a profound, beautiful mystery that reveals the diversity of God, the unity of God, and the outpouring of God Godself unto all of us.
Book Recs:
Catherine Mowry Lacugna, God for Us: The Trinity and Christian Life, 1993.
Karl Rahner, The Trinity, (Milestones in Catholic Theology) English transl. 1997
Anne Hunt, The Trinity and the Paschal Mystery: A Development in Recent Catholic Theology, 1997.
Sarah Coakley, God, Sexuality, and the Self: An Essay 'On the Trinity', 2013.
John Zizioulas, Being as Communion: Studies in Personhood and the Church, 1997.
St Augustine, De Trinitate, find it online here
Leonardo Boff, Trinity and Society, 1988.
St Thomas Aquinas, Summa Theologica, part 1, q.27-43, read online here.
I'd start with Catherine Mowry Lacugna *IF YOU ARE FAMILIAR* with Trinitarian theology as a whole.
If not, try Richard Rohr's The Divine Dance: The Trinity and Your Transformation. Rohr is great for laypersons and those looking for an intro into various parts of Catholic theology, spirituality, and mysticism.

The Dreams Started when I was Nine
"Just a threesome tonight? Where's your mates?" Gay Dave said with a wink at the three regulars who darkened the door.
Without skipping a beat, Boff upped the ante, "Fancy a foursome Gay Dave?"
In time and with the most flamboyant of flourishes, Gay Dave replied, "Oh Boff, you know I don't cop off with lads." With a smirk and a trill chuckle, Gay Dave blew a kiss to Neil. It had been two weeks since he last saw the band and it did strike him odd to not see them all together. Like knowing a man with ten arms, he would be immediately spotted in a lineup but the next time you see him he's only got nine arms. The man would still be a recognizable oddity but you'd want to know what happened to that tenth arm. "It's been over four weeks since you've paid me a visit. You're not seeing another bartender are you? I hate the thought of another man pouring you drinks. What'll you have Lou?"
"We've been in the recording studio. Pint of cider drink, all around." Lou replied flatly which sounded like she was excited but also on the brink of falling asleep. The truth of the matter is that she had some reservations about the new album. For her, to make music is to send a message and the message was a middle finger to the fascists in the House of Commons. The opening track had to shout that message through a bullhorn into the ass-end of another, bigger, bullhorn.
Boff winced, "I'm still cross that we've gone and changed labels. We've sold our souls to corporate media Gay Dave." Reaching for his cider, "We're bloody capitalists now Gay Dave. I'm surprised the Ffordey would even serve the likes of us." It's true that the Fforde Greene was host to all sorts of anachro-punk, but the Fforde Grene didn't pour pints for free.
Although Lou hadn't the foggiest idea how the album would begin, she was sure of where the band could go if given the resources, "Stop taking the piss out of the new album before it's even recorded. We're making the music we want to make only now some wanker in New York can hear our songs as well." Just the thought made her shiver. If a tosser in Northern Ireland couldn't get the message a dimwitted American wouldn't stand a chance. If violence is the voice of the unheard, the sound has to be so massive to blow up a stereo.
Hardly able to keep himself from chuckling, Neil quipped "It's always been my dream to make music for some nine year old in America to hear my music in a Lucozaid commercial." Lucoszaid is not sold in America.
Boff took the bait, "They don't sell Lucozaid in America." The radiant aura of his smugness only pulled the grin on Neil's face closer to his ears.
Neil smacked the bar unable to contain himself, "Something only a capitalist would know!"
To break the ice with her calculated reasoning Lou felt the need to interject, "We have access to a recording studio with bathrooms this time, I think it's an upgrade."
High off the laugh he had given himself, Neil had no choice but give in to the cider and continue, "Although some of us aren't used to playing on a finely tuned studio instrument." His grin has made contact with his ear lobes.
Gossip was Gay Dave's favorite subject and he had to test the waters, "What are you going on about?"
Before Neil could jump in, Lou kicked his shin light enough to be friendly in any other shoe than the Doc Martins she was wearing, "Dunstan didn't know that guitars need to be constantly tuned." The confusion this caused in the studio wasted an hour of recording time which Lou wasn't keen on, but at least everyone in the band now knows that instruments go out of tune, especially when handled with the grace of a dog attempting to scratch the top of it's head.
Glad to have the shame pointed in a different direction Boff was compelled, "Who needs to be in tune?"
Lou grumbled flatly, "A band."
Neil raised his glass and burst out in a familiar song, intentionally off key, "A turbulent time, to strike if you mine..." Boff and Lou both groan in second hand embarrassment. "...Industrial action, is just a reaction..."
"Stop your nonsense Neil. He's not even here to defend himself." Lou was still miffed at Dunstan but this out of tune protest song was taking years off her life and she could feel it, year by year, note by note.
As if summoned by the song of protest, Dunstan clapped  both the boys on the back, "Poverty stricken, communities are ruined, families go hungry, well this is modern Britain!" Four or five other patrons within earshot all shouting "Modern Britain" in time with the tune. Even a poorly sung ballad can be forgiven with enough alcohol.
Despite his jab, Neil was rather glad to see Dunstan, "You bell end, where were you all afternoon?"
Dunstan had a penchant for taking a punch in stride so with his hands on his hips, and an embarrassing thrust, "This rather large bell end went to the cinema!"
Gay Dave had watched Dunstan stumble into the Fforde Greene while the rest were having their laugh. He preemptively started pouring a glass, "Oh I just love the theater." somehow cramming an extra syllable into the word theater, "What did you see? Was it worth watching? Please do tell." With a wink and blowing a kiss Gay Dave slid Dunstan a cider drink.
Dunstan stood even taller and thrust himself further than the human body was built to thrust, "I snuck into a matinee of Brassed Off. It's a banger." Breaking character losing his rigidity, Dunstan confessed, "I might actually pay to see it again."
"I've spotted Ewan McGregor on the bill posts for that!" Gay Dave couldn't pass up the opportunity to fawn over Ewan McGregor, "The things I would do to that man..." Gay Dave now rolling his eyes in feigned pleasure.
The band all took a beat to nod in agreement that Ewan McGregor was proper fit. After taking drink, Dunstan continued, "Right, well there's this part, yeah, where this band plays that one orchestra tune, 'Ba-da-bump ba-da-bump ba-da-bumpbumpbump!'" Dunstan starts trotting about the other three around the bar. His legs were bowed as if perched on a saddle of a miniature pony wider than it is tall. Louder still and at the pace of a cantor, "'Ba-da-bump ba-da-bump ba-da-bumpbumpbump! ba-da-bump ba-da-bump ba-da-bumpbumpbump!'" With a tip of his invisible ten gallon hat to Lou with a chatoic yell, "Bd-da-baa[holding the high note for much to long]aa! ba-da-bumpbumpbump!"
Neil, "The William Tell Overture?"
Out of breath and regretting the three cigarettes he smoked on the way to the Fforde Greene, "Sure, whatever. So they smash it right. This crowd of stiffs go completely bonkers. Then this Geezer steps up to receive this trophy and he tells the rotten fucks to shove it up their arse. The man’s wearing a purple doublet telling the entire room to sod off. The legend!"
Gay Dave held up a mixing spoon like one would hold a trumpet except instead of pursed lips his mouth fell agape, "Does Ewan McGregor show his flugelhorn?"
Dunstan replied triumphantly, "He blows a hell of a lot more than that!"
Gay Dave melted to the bar with a sigh, "Only in my dreams."
Boff was desperately reaching to change the subject and fell back on taking the piss out of Neil, "Speaking of dreams Neil was just going on about his dreams of nine year-olds." A wave of regret made Boff's lower lips sink to the corners of his chin as Dunstan whipped around in excitement.
Never missing an opportunity to embarrass himself, Dunstan blurted, "I've had lots of dreams of kids." He knew exactly what he had just said and shot a glance over to Lou to savor her disappointment.
Lou’s eyes rolled into the back of her head and she dropped her forehead to the table, muttering into the sleek damp wood of the bar, "I'm surrounded by pedophiles."
The change in Dunstan's tone was enough to consider that he might be sincere, "You've got it all mix mashed. I'm the child in the dream."
Boff held his arms over Neil and Dunstan to bless their terrible matrimony, "Well aren't you two a match made in heaven."
Dunstan’s volume dropped which meant he was serious or he had just farted and wanted his mates to lean in, "No really, I'm not one to give much a thought to dreams, it's rubbish, yeah? Freud can take a piss. But this dream, this dream I've been having since I was a lad. It's the exact same dream every time. It starts with more of a feelin' than a full on dream, like I know a story is ‘bout to unfold. I'm three years old, maybe four, I'm nervous, I'm lost, surrounded by strange adults and let me tell you, as a four year old that alone can be intimidating bein' surrounded by people larger than you. It's just a forest of kneecaps. I don't quite know where I am but I'm being knocked about by these knobby knees. And out of nowhere, smash! Flat on my arse. Worse yet, I'm stuck. I try to move my legs and hands but I have that weakness you only experience in dreams. It's terrifying! I hate feelin’ trapped. Luckily it doesn't last long because I get picked up off the ground by this nutter. And just as it looks like he's about to say somethin' I wake up."
The band all took a moment to digest the tale Dunstan had blessed them with and it was Gay Dave who broke the tension, "That's rubbish."
Dunstan was shocked, "I have this dream every month. Swear to baby Jesus." He crossed his heart and held up his hand as if to swear to a god he didn't believe existed.
Gay Dave snapped back, "Oh I believe you have the dream, it's a rubbish dream."
Boff shook his head and groaned, "Terrible."
Neil squinted his eyes in the way one would admire the lack of wit, "Dreadful. Coulda been three sentences."
Lou gave a quick nod to Gay Dave and said, "After that story, Gay Dave, round of vodka drink.” Without even looking she oozed her contempt for Dunstan, “I regret defending you earlier."
And with that Boff, Neil, and Gay Dave burst into laughter as shots were passed all around. Confused but still in good spirits, smiling and laughing as if he understood the joke, Dunstan had to ask, "What do’ya mean?"
Before Dunstan had time to think, Boff had already raised his glass, "I've tuned out of the conversation. Let's have that drink. To the band!"
In unison, "To Chumbawumba!"

The [Widget], The [Wadget], and Boff by Theodore Sturgeon is my current read. Not totally through with it, but so far this is one of the best stories in this collected edition. It has some scenes that really stick in your head (like the single use gun or the speech about the importance of saving your life even if it means being embarrassed) and is just a super great story (from what I've read, like I said. Not totally through yet. It's a longer one.). When I finish this collected edition, I'll post which stories were my favorites. This one is probably going to be on there.

Who's your favorite ancient Greek philosopher?
None?
I tend to prefer the more modern liberal existentialist thought of H. Richard Niebuhr, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Thomas Merton, Leonardo Boff, Matthew Fox, and MLK. Those are just some of the better known. They’re also, annoyingly, all male. But then, so are most Greek philosophers.
Authors are also philosophers, and some of my favorites there are Toni Morrison, Iris Murdoch, Madeline L’Engle, Ursula Le Guin, Joy Harjo, and Leslie Marmon Silko.

do you know if tehre are blogs like this for all the other dwarves too? i'd love to follow all of them!
I’m sorry it took me so long to answer you, anon! I drafted my response, and then I forgot to finish it. But here we are:
Good question! I’m not sure. I know some blog owners have favorite Dwarve(s), but they might not post almost exclusively that character, like I do. I’ll do some research.
Ok, so I just remembered that there all of the ___ googles blogs. Balingoogles, bofurgoogles, filigoogles, etc. Heart breakingly, it doesn’t look like anyone has made a Bifur one.
i-want-to-boff-bofur seems pretty Bofur-centric.
bard--the--bowman post exclusively Bard content.
balinsawesome and anoldwarrior are both Balin themed.
asparklethatisblue posts a lot of Nori and Dwalin stuff, and their art is amazing.
Beyond that, I’m not sure!

If you are fed up with missing lifts and cutting sets short due to a slipping grip, keep reading. If you want to shatter personal records of all kinds, grab hold of this information. The strongmen of yore held the secret weapon of strength in their big, meaty paws.
Andy Bolton, the first man to deadlift over 1,000 pounds, credits two of the exercises in this very program as “the ones that have enabled a dream like a 1,008-pound deadlift to become a reality.”
Can you honestly say that grip is not a limiting factor for you?
Let’s be honest, it probably is. While you diligently train your heart, lung, chest and legs, you only THINK you train your arms. Sure, you do biceps curls and triceps extensions — you might even add in wrist curls — but you are still missing 90 percent of the lifts that will make you better.
What does this cost you?
Inches of dense muscle tissue. Hundreds of total pounds subtracted off of lifts. A higher risk of injury to elbows, wrists, and fingers, and for many, the shame of a weak, bony handshake.
IT DOESN’T HAVE TO BE THIS WAY!
Winning the Iron Mind Little Big Horn at 2012 IronMind Record Breaker
My name is Adam Glass, and I am the man who is going to teach you to build an indomitable grip. I hold 13 world records in grip strength and have some of the strongest hands in the entire world. As a performing strongman, I have destroyed metal spikes, torn thousands of decks of cards, scrolled miles of steel bars and horseshoes. I have made the impossible a reality by developing my body past the modern worlds perceived limit.
Over the years, I have trained thousands of people to develop stronger, healthier hands: bodybuilders, powerlifters, weightlifters, mixed martial artists, rock climbers, hockey players, musicians; the list goes on and on. Every time I share the missing link of grip strength with someone, his or her performance improves. What does that mean? It means I can help YOU realize your potential!
It’s a lot easier to reach a destination when the person giving you directions has been where you want to go.
Want powerful hands? I am the one to teach you.
What can specific grip training do for you?
Reduce your chance of injury in your training, your sporting events, and in day-to-day life.
Improve your ability to pull weights off the floor. Many people add 15 to 20 pounds to their best deadlift in the first two weeks of this program.
Add more weight to the bar in your pressing movements by fortifying the wrists. A weak wrist can cost you 15 to 25 percent of weight in pressing movements. Your brain will shut down power production if it detects a weak link!
Never miss a tackle and catch more passes on the field.
Add more yards to your golf swing with one simple drill.
Forge pliers-like strength between your thumb and fingers.
Crush your opponents on the mat. In every grappling sport, hand control is the first battle you must win. Every champion grappler is marked with a fierce grip.
Rehabilitate and regain more range of motion in your wrists and hands. Hundreds of thousands of people are plagued with pain and weakness in their hands; the good news is research demonstrates productive training can reduce and eliminate these problems in most people.
Dominate the boardroom with a true alpha male handshake. No one will doubt your power when they grip your thick, rugged hand.
There was a time when garage lifters, athletes, and coaches thought it was enough grip training to do deadlifts, pull-ups and rows. Now, the best trainers in the world have learned that specific grip training is absolutely necessary to unleash all the physical capacity a person has. The grip simply isn’t trained enough when only trained generally.
I have dedicated over a decade of my training to knowing everything there is to know about grip training, and how to do it most effectively. No matter what the grip goal, whether pulling a massive deadlift PR or competing at the highest levels in grip sport, I have armed others with the tools and information they’ve needed to crush their goals.
For the last two years, men and women across the globe have been smashing their personal bests using the secrets of Industrial Strength Grip Vol. 1. This summer I decided it was time to polish the course.
I added 23 new never-before-seen movements not available in any other grip product anywhere. I also filmed each drill from more angles and brought in some better technology to bring to you a beautifully crafted training DVD. This is not a DVD filmed on a cell phone in someone’s garage!
What EXACTLY will you learn in Industrial Strength Grip Vol 2?
The essentials of hand strength!
Section 1: Grippers
Tumblr media
You will be thrust in immediately with a lesson on the world’s favorite method of grip training, torsion spring grippers. Heed this word of warning: Ignore one common suggestion to avoid a painful hand injury and aching joints.
Next we delve into the block that has allowed me to best the strongest grip athletes in the world and capture 9 pinch lifting world records: how to use the thumb.
Section 2: Pinch
Pinch lifting is one of the fundamental movements in grip sport and grip training. No matter what your goals, training your pinch grip will produce gains in every area.
Why pinch training is a must if you lift kettlebells or barbells.
How to add 5 to 10 percent to your best lifts by adding just one extra exercise to your training.

Here it is, the best lift you’ve never heard of: Add this to your program and see 20 percent more upper back strength.
Conquer the Inch! My proven method to overcoming challenge dumbbells. Do this and you will make history.
Section 4: Thick-Bar Training
Some say the simple act of using a thick bar can transform the average man into a powerhouse. I leave nothing to chance by teaching you insiders’ tips for axle-lifting dominance.
This has been called the No. 1 movement for greater forearm development and strength by one of history’s greatest coaches.
Seek and Destroy! Fix these six errors and add 30 pounds to your pull tonight.
Learn the subtle adjustment that adds pounds to your lift and comfort to your wrist.
It will seem counterintuitive to some, but this single positional adjustment can take you from 3rd place to 1st place in one rep.
The quick way to find your strongest stance: Ignore this only if you are fine with making tortoise-like gains.
Section 5: The Forgotten Lifts
Plain and simple: You will not find these gems anywhere else. These movements are simply too rugged, too hardcore for your standard bench press and quarter-squat crowd. But do these and you will make more progress this year than the last three combined!
Three training exercises you will not find anywhere else that will add many pounds of thick muscle to your arms and back.
Do this single exercise and you never worry about a weak back.
One of the best hip-strengthening drills you will ever find: Pile on the plates and up your squat by 50 pounds soon enough.
One of my favorite lifts for freak-show finger strength. One set of these and you will be hooked!
How to maximize training time while getting the fastest arm-strengthening benefits.
If you ignore everything else I show you, do this one movement! A fantastic exercise to thicken the upper back and shoulders and bulletproof the wrists.
Section 6: One of the Coolest Feats of Hand Strength You Will Ever Learn: Card Tearing
Not only do I want you to build freaky hand strength, I want you to amaze your friends and family with it! One of the greatest lifters of all time, Vic Boff, said, “Everyone loves a strongman,” and indeed, everyone loves to see this incredible feat of strength.
How to legitimately tear a deck of plastic coated poker cards using hand strength. No magic tricks — just pure power.
How to position the deck. Many attempt to emulate me here, but nearly all fail because they don’t know this secret.
The exact progression I used to take me from failing to tear half a deck to tearing a deck into four pieces in six seconds.
How to avoid injuries and bag more PR’s with the No. 1 tearing assistance exercise.
The set-up that will work every time. Learn this and you never fail again.
And much more. This DVD is packed full of information, all of it can be immediately used by YOU right now to get stronger. There is no fluff, no filler.
“Adam Glass has quickly proven to be a force in the Grip World, skyrocketing up the ranks of the sport and laying waste to former records all along the way. His DVD should be a part of every aspiring Grip Athlete’s collection.”
– Jedd Johnson, CSCS, RKC, Red Nail & Captain of Crush Certified
“Adam does an amazing job. He is a natural speaker and teacher. I’m rarely captivated by a DVD, but this rocks! I recently set a new deadlift PR and without a doubt, grip work played the single biggest factor in my strength increase on the deadlift as it was my weak link.”
– Bret Contreras, CSCS, MA
A couple of years ago I mistook my left hand for a bush and trimmed it with my electric hedgeclippers. When the bandages came off I could barely hold a bottle of water in my left hand. During rehab, my left hand was only able to apply 40 psi to a dynamometer. I decided it was time to pursue grip training. Instead of asking Adam for help, I stalked him on the internet and watched all of his videos. Eventually we started talking. Soon after, I got stronger. Over the last two years I’ve made a remarkable comeback from that injury with Adam’s help.
In that time he has never told me to use a technique just because it worked for him or one of his mentors. Instead he taught me how to find the best technique for me. He taught me how to “balance” out the grip training with exercises that have kept me clear of overuse and injury. Most importantly I learned from Adam a way to choose appropriate exercises, weights, reps and sets to streamline my training and honor my body.
I have seen him work one-on-one with people and I’ve seen him work in larger groups and he is one of the greatest teachers I know. He is able to present the depth of knowledge that he has about grip training in a systematic, logical and approachable way that would benefit anyone interested in increasing their hand strength or health.
– Gary J. Berenbroick, Gym Owner & Instructor
“Before I had met adam I never really gave much to training my grip. What I have learned from Industrial Strength Grip is priceless. He gives you the tools to you need to build tremendous hand strength. Whether it be for sports, helping lifts in the gym or just carrying groceries in the house, this DVD will help everyone. For myself, it has helped me be able to plate curl a 35 pound plate for 7 reps, plate pinch 80 pounds one hand, close a CoC 2.5 and much more. Pick this product up you won’t be disappointed.
– Frank Berean, New York

2, 6, 8?
2. Headcanons about your main?
TONS. Some of them have shown up on @e-n-morwen, like that she’s still dealing with residual trauma from the events of the tutorial, or that she’s increasingly disillusioned with the Federation. Others have been hinted at, like that she’s connected somehow to the origins of Temporal Investigations.
6. Favorite and least favorite NPC?
Favorite NPC is definitely Sela. Her arc is such a wonderful tragedy! If you restrict it to NPCs original to the game, Obisek. (If I had it to do over, I would have started the game as a Romulan instead of a Fed. Who knew they’d be so much more interesting!) Least favorite NPC, no question, is Franklin Drake.
8. What do you most wish Cryptic would change?
Well, I can now put skants on my male BOFFs, so that’s the game’s biggest flaw taken care of. The main thing I want now--and I understand that this would be a major technical and design challenge--is more missions with light or no combat, ideally something which actually takes place on the player’s ship. The most recent DISC made me realize how much I miss Trek’s bottle episodes!

Cross Colors Midorima Route 13.3
Pillow fight!!! This scene is one of my favorite things in Cross Colors and I’ve been meaning to do a translation for a while. I split it into three parts because it’s kinda long. (The other parts will be linked at the end.) Please enjoy super intense pillow throwing Midorima!!
T/N: 1. The game they talk about playing (in Japanese 人生スゴロク, Jinsei Sugoroku) is clearly a parody of “Life” but has a slightly different name) 2. I’m experimenting with using “in fact” as a translation for Midorima’s “na no da yo”...I dunno if I like it that much, but I do like to show when he’s saying it.
Takao: All that’s left is to go back to our room and sleep… Takao: Well, we don’t have practice tomorrow morning, so we could stay up late tonight! Midorima: Do whatever you like. I’m going to bed, in fact. Takao: Wha…it was so fun when we played Life Game, I thought we could invite some of the guys from other schools… Takao: Hm? Nigou: Arf? Takao: Nigou!? You snuck out on your own again? Nigou: Arf! Takao: Did you get sick of being locked up in the same place? Midorima: Hmph. Seirin’s coach has been negligent again, in fact. Nigou: Arf arf! Takao: We can’t leave him here, should we take him to a Seirin room?
Midorima: I’ll go back to our room, in fact.
Takao: Don’t say that! Shin-chan, come with me! Midorima: ….. Takao: Okay, let’s go, Nigou! Nigou: Arf! …… Takao: Let’s see…Seirin’s room is… Takao: Around here, I think… Midorima: …It’s quite noisy in this room. Takao: ….? This is the big room.  Nigou: Arf arf! Takao: Hm? Is someone in here? Nigou: Arf! Takao: Well, whatever. Shin-chan, open this door. Midorima: Why me? Takao: I can’t, my hands are full with Nigou. Midorima: Honestly…I suppose it can’t be helped… Midorima: …!!! (sfx: boff) Takao: Wha—!? Shi—Shin-chan!? Takao: What’s this!? A pillow? Furihata: Jeez, Kagami, you threw it too hard! Kagami: Pillow fights are super fun! Don’t you think that was a perfect hit? Kuroko: …Kagami-kun, I think it was a perfect hit into someone unexpected.  Kagami: …Huh? Midorima: Is this your pillow…? Kagami: Wha—!? Wh—Why are you here, Midorima!? Midorima: Answer my question, in fact, Kagami.  Midorima: I asked if this is your pillow.  Kagami: Uh, uh, yeah, it is… Midorima: I see… Kagami: S—sorry! I didn’t expect anyone to come in right then… Midorima: Kagami. Kagami: Y—yeah! Midorima: When I receive something… Midorima: I always pay it back, in fact. Kagami: …Geh!!!
