Tumblr media
You felt so confident in your new outfit, so proud of yourself and feeling at your best. You’re ready to go to the movies with your friends. They’re showing your favorite on the big screen, and you wouldn’t miss it for the world.
But Shoto, your big brother, sees you through the little crack in your door from not shutting it properly. You’re fully dressed, so it’s no big deal.
But to Shoto, this is more than just a big deal.
Suddenly, he can’t stop himself from pushing the door open with his hand and glaring at you.
“What have I told you about closing your door properly? What? Did you get changed with the door like that?” he can’t help but spout question after question.
“I didn’t realize it wasn’t shut. Sorry, bro.”
He’s heard it before, and he’ll probably hear it again.
“Did you know Touya and Natsuo are home? What if they saw you…dressing? Anyone could see you with the way the door was cracked.”
You roll your eyes. “It’s not a big deal. I said I’m sorry.”
Anger. Frustration. You’re not listening to him. You’re not being a good girl. You’re not being his good baby sister.
“Watch it.”
“Watch what? The door?” You can’t help but tease with a tiny smirk.
And then he’s grabbing you by your upper arm and spinning you to look at him.
“Don’t. Don’t test me.” He looks you right in the eye, silently daring you to challenge his authority as your older brother.
“Nii, stop it!” You try to shake him off of you.
“Where are you even going dressed like that?”
“To the movies with my friends.”
“Did you ask your Nii-Chan for permission?”
“Touya doesn’t care.”
You know he’s not talking about Touya.
“Try again, Imoto.”
You can’t help your pouty little lips. “Can I go out, Nii?”
He bends down, making you fully aware of the height difference. His bangs sway slightly, he looks you dead in the eyes with his bi-colored orbs.
“No.”
“What? You can’t just say no! You’re not Dad!”
Shoto just laughs at your little outburst, an eerie chuckle that defies what you just said.
“I might as well be with how he’s never here. You’re not going out with your friends. You’re too immature to even be deciding who is a good influence or not, so I don’t trust the people you’re trying to hangout with.”
“The hell, Shoto?! You’re so controlling!”
Bad move. Oh, so fucking bad.
He’s no longer grabbing your bicep. Now, he’s pinching your ear and pulling you in close.
“I’m giving you once chance and one chance only to apologize.”
However, you take that chance and tell him to shove it up his ass.
If his eyes could narrow anymore, they would be akin to razor blades. He pulls you, by your ear, towards the closet. Opening it, he shoves you into your clothes before slamming the door shut. There’s no lock on your closet, so Shoto has to manually act as a lock by keeping it forcefully closed. You bang on the shoji door, try to use your hands to pry the door open.
But Shoto’s on the outside, and Shoto’s always been much stronger than you.
Panic sets in, and tears stream down your face in pathetic rivers.
“Shoto, let me out! Let me out! Nii-Chan!”
You act as if he can’t hear you. He can. He’s just ignoring you.
“You can come out when you apologize and tell me you’ll be good. I’ll be right here when you’re ready.”
You can’t tell if his words are meant to be condescending.
You kick the door out of anger and wipe away your salty tears. What the fuck! None of this is fucking fair!
You just wanted to go to the movies with your friends. How did all of this happen?!
Sliding down the wall, you’re not ready to give in yet. You sit on the floor and wait in agitation. Maybe you can even wait long enough until Shoto gives in.
But it’s dark, and you don’t even have your phone to pass the time, and you’re starting to feel hungry and thirsty, and your ass hurts from sitting on the hardwood floor.
And then two hours pass, at least you think it’s been two hours, and you realize there’s no point now.
“Shoto?”
“Yeah?” your big brother answers back.
“I…I’m sorry for being a brat. I’ll be a good girl now.”
“You’ll be my good little sister, right? You’ll stay home with Nii-Chan?”
“Yes, I’ll stay home with Nii-Chan.”
The door slides open, and it takes your eyes a few moments to adjust. They feel extra sensitive from all of the crying and irritation, but you don’t even care about that right now. You get up and immediately fall into Shoto’s arms, rambling about how you hated being in that closet and how you don’t ever want to go back in there again.
Shoto strokes your hair, making you feel safe, making you feel guilty about how you talked to him. How could you have been like that when he was just looking out for you?
“I only want what’s best for you. You know that, right?”
“Yeah, Nii…I know.”
He rubs your back and tells you that you two can watch a movie in his room. You take him up on the offer, and he makes the popcorn while you pick out the film.
And all is right in the world because Nii-Chan has his Imoto right by his side.

Hi! A prompt, if you don't mind. Since there's not many content with Todoroki siblings, maybe some family bonding with lee Shoto and lers Natsuo and Fuyumi. Like, Shoto finally feels comfortable and close to them enough for cuddles and affection, and they realise their baby brother is touch-starved (and unexpectedly ticklish)
I- I cannot even put into words how much I enjoyed this prompt! I absolutely loved every minute of writing this and I'm so glad you decided to send it to me! Poor Shouto is so touch starved and I love every opportunity I get to give him some much needed love! I really hope you guys like it!^^
Better Late than Never
Lers: Fuyumi and Natsuo Todoroki
Lee: Shouto Todoroki
"Hey. Can you guys tickle me?"
Fuyumi couldn't even blame Natsuo when he promptly started choking on the soda he'd been drinking in surprise. Of all the things that she would have expected her socially inept younger brother to say, it certainly wasn't that.
The three of them had been hanging out in the living room together, watching some animated movies that Shouto had borrowed from one of his classmates, Izuku Midoriya. That green haired kid that he'd fought during the UA Sports Festival.
Apparently, their youngest sibling had been doing some 'research' as he put it, on sibling bonding techniques, and had been interviewing a few of his classmates to figure out what they liked to do with their siblings. Tonight he'd suggested the three of them have a family movie night while their father was away on a business trip and he had some time off from school, an idea he'd gotten from his classmate, Hanta Sero.
Ecstatic that their little brother finally seemed ready to open up to them, they immediately agreed, and the three of them were currently cuddled up together in the impromptu blanket fort that Shouto had insisted was a must when it came to a proper family movie night because, 'Sero said so.'
And so it was.
Admittedly, things had been going pretty well up until now, when their stoic peppermint of a little brother had turned to them, family bonding list in hand, and had asked, in the most blank tone possible, if they could tickle him of all things.
"Shouto, um, if you don't mind me asking, what brought on that question?" Fuyumi asked after a moment, patting Natsuo's back firmly while he still struggled to catch his breath after almost drowning himself in Fanta. Shouto didn't even bat an eye at his older brother's near death experience, and instead kept his expression carefully emotionless. However, he was fiddling with the hem of his shirt slightly, as if he might be nervous.
"Oh. Well, Kirishima said he likes to bond with his younger siblings by tickling them. I'm the youngest, so I just thought maybe that's how it was supposed to go and that maybe we could do that too." He explained calmly, though there was a tad bit of barely noticeable apprehension there as well. "Is that… Wrong?" He asked hesitantly, tilting his head and taking on a rare expression of clear confusion as he started flipping through his notes again. Fuyumi couldn't decide whether the sight was adorable or flat out hilarious. Heck. Maybe it was a little of both.
"Oh! No! No of course it's not wrong! Just.. a little unexpected? I guess it's just surprising! Not bad though. It's good actually! Really good!" She answered hurriedly, not wanting to ruin this rare moment of trust Shouto was showing. He'd never really gotten the chance to bond with them properly when they were little, and his social skills definitely left something to be desired, so for him to be purposefully seeking out the opportunity to do normal siblings things with them? Especially things like physical displays of affection? Well, that was a pretty big deal.
He looked up at her and blinked, relaxing after a moment and setting his notes aside, seemingly satisfied with her hasty explanation.
"Oh." He said after a pause. "So.. You'll.. You'll do it then?" He asked quietly, and if she didn't know any better, it looked like he might even be blushing. Fuyumi couldn't help allowing herself a fond smile. When had her little brother gotten so adorable dang it?! There was definitely no way she could say no to that!
Rather than giving a verbal answer right away though, she instead let her expression morph into something a tad more mischievous and looked over at Natsuo, who had by some miracle managed to recover from his coughing fit. "Hey Natsu? Remember that thing Touya used to do to us when we were kids?" She asked with a smirk, suddenly scooping up their little brother from behind and pulling him into her lap when he wasn't looking, catching him off guard. She quickly wrapped her arms around his torso, trapping him effectively while simultaneously preventing him from being able to bring his arms all the way down, leaving him exposed.
Natsuo looked just as confused as Shouto did for a moment before realization suddenly seemed to hit him. Back when they were younger, sometimes Touya would scoop one of them up into his lap and trap them there, then he'd warningly tell them, "Don't laugh or flinch at all or else~" and wiggle his fingers just above their stomach, occasionally pretending to dip his hand down before bringing it back up again. This would go on until eventually they'd break and he'd finally start clawing into their sides or ribs or armpits. It was never the same spot, and so the inability to guess or prepare for it always made it so much worse. They loved it, and hopefully, so would Shouto now that he would actually have a chance to play.
He smiled slightly at the memory before crawling over to sit in front of his two siblings, the younger of them looking more than a little confused. "Um. What are you two doing? What did Touya used to do?" He asked, voice deceptively calm even as an anxious smile was starting to pull at his lips. Just because he'd never been allowed to participate didn't mean he hadn't seen his siblings playing this game before, and he had to admit, it was kind of exciting to finally be a part of it, even if he was a bit nervous.
"What do you mean 'what are we doing'? You wanted us to tickle you right? So what better time than now to teach our dear little Shouto about our favorite tickle game hm?" Fuyumi teased, making him squirm a bit in anticipation as he watched Natsuo slowly move his hands toward his stomach, which he sucked in instinctively.
"The rules are simple." Fuyumi began, "Don't laugh,"
"Or flinch at all-" Natsuo joined.
"Or else~" They finished together, and with that, the game had begun.
Shouto held up pretty good for about seven minutes. After all, due to both his extensive training on self control as a child and the countless tickle fights he'd already gotten into with his classmates back at the dorms, he'd managed to build up a fair amount of resistance, and he remained stubbornly quiet and still no matter how many times Natsuo tried to catch him off guard. That is until Fuyumi decided to cheat by pinching his side right at the exact moment Natsuo decided to bring his hand down again, and he arched his back in surprise right into his older brother's waiting fingers.
"GYAH- Ahahahahaha! No! Nohoho wait!! Fuyuhuhumi you cheheheheater!!!" He laughed, collapsing into his sister's chest as Natsuo started digging into his sides. "Cheater? Me? Are you hearing this Natsu? Shouto's accusing me of being a cheater! The nerve!" Fuyumi exclaimed, feigning outrage as she joined in by scribbling her fingers over his ribs and into his armpits, making him squeal adorably. By now, he'd been squirming around so much that his head had ended up cradled in her lap, giving her a perfect view of his joyful smile. The sight of her little brother, so happy and carefree in this moment, it almost brought her to tears, and she couldn't resist the urge to discretely snap a few quick pictures of the scene with her phone, both as a keepsake and to send to their mom later along with the others she'd gotten throughout the night.
"NONONONO!! NOT THEHEHERE! NOT THE FEET NATSUHUHU!! AHAHAHAHAHA!!!" Shouto honestly couldn't remember a time he'd felt this much joy. Tickle fights with his classmates were always fun, sure, but this? This level of closeness and affection being shared between him and his siblings right now? It was like having a hole filled that had been empty for far to long. He never wanted it to stop.
"What? Not here? Why not? Is someone a little sensitive riiight here~?"
"YEHEHEHES! I AHAHAM! PLEASE! PLEAHEASE STAHAHAHAP!!! I'M DONE FOR NOHOHOW!!""
Okay he didn't want it to stop, but maybe, um, maybe he did need to breathe though. His siblings seem to recognize this as well and quickly let up. He shot them both a grateful smile as he curled into a ball on his side, still giggling. This time, Natsuo was the one who couldn't resist the urge to record it.
"I.. I love you... Guys.." Shouto mumbled between giggles, and they both froze. Did- Did he really just?...
Shouto barely had time to process what was happening before he was literally being crushed in a bear hug between his two siblings, and despite his sudden inability to breathe again, he returned the embrace happily because maybe.. Maybe this is what he'd been missing all along.

Dont know if you like this sort of things but , Do you ever think about shoto being pampered by you and becoming so soft around you ? Like, litteraly. Softer thighs, a lil roll on his tummy , hips softer to grab when pegging him.. etc just, all the care and the freedom to indulge showing in his facial expression, the way he moans loudly and the way his body looks.
I’m just in love with the idea of him a lil soft because he’s well taken care of and blushing embarrassed and turned on when you undress him and praise him for being so good and looking so good , you know ?
(I would absolutely die to read your writing of softer submissive Shoto)
I do like this sort of thing (ღ˘⌣˘ღ) I haven’t actually put much thought into it, but soft Todoroki unlocks a whole new sex experience, just so full of passion and love he’s never felt before, and he just feels so warm and melts everytime you praise him-

Todoroki has put on some weight.
Okay, no, he’s simply gotten softer in areas he never thought he’d see be soft, not since he was a child.
He’s been on medical leave for some time now, ever since a battle against a villain kind of went downhill, but you’re glad he’s safe, especially him given his days of recovery under your shared roof rather than piling up unnecessary bills.
Well, okay, that’s not the reason why you’re glad he’s here sitting on the couch, eating some oatmeal he, for some reason, craved.
You’re glad because you can finally, finally, take care of him properly and shower him in love and affection you never found the opportunity or chance to do.
Sure, you’ve always cuddled him when he needed it, snuggled up to him to help lull him to sleep after rough nights, peppered him in kisses any given moment, simply spoiled him with lots of attention.
But never did you find the opportunity to actually cater to his needs:
He wants water? Here you go.
He wants milk tea? Here you go.
He wants cookies? Here you go.
He wants cold soba, just the way he specifically likes it? Here you go.
The word ‘no’ doesn’t exist, excluding sex and dangerous situations.
So with you catering to his needs and wants, necessities and desires, while being under the order to relax and allow his body to heal itself, you bet he’s gained a softer image.
He’s banned from going to the gym, and if he goes to the agency, his secretary or a sidekick keeps an eye out to make sure he doesn’t react to last-minute missions or emergencies.
You’re thankful so many other people care for him and about him, and how often his family seem to visit. Well, Fuyumi and Natsuo, on the rare occasion he is able to tag along, step through the door, but even with Shoto making amends with his father still, the older male mostly just drops off whatever he came to leave and heads back to work. Rei also visits from time to time, to the utter delight of both you and Shoto.
And in one of her latest visits, she dropped off some cute pastries she found on display. Shoto’s been mostly indulging in them, to your heart’s delight.
But then a few days later, and you catch Shoto staring at his body from the mirror, turning and checking all the small yet noticeable changes on his body. Your heart aches at his disappointment and pout, at the way his eyes already hold such a critical gaze that you realize what you haven’t been doing for such a long while.
When was the last time you’ve fucked him?
He was forbidden from going to the gym and training, but you’re sure sex isn’t out of the question. You’d just have to be more gentle, maybe not so fast.
You don’t really sneak up on him, he can hear and recognize your footsteps. But he startles when you wrap your arms around him from behind, placing your hands on his soft tummy and caressing the skin, tracing your name and your confessions of how much you love him. He can’t make it out, but the way you touch him has him letting out a shaky sigh, one that sounds so sad that you plant a kiss on his back.
Your hands go to his hips, squeezing them before you pull down his sweatpants, along with his boxers. Your eyes and his are on the mirror, watching how more and more of his skin begins to show and you feel how he’s trying to hide himself, try to cover up what he’s beginning to resent.
Not on your watch.
“Baby, get on the bed.”
And Shoto’s speaking gibberish after a while, his body rocking forward and back as you pound into him. He would’ve preferred you go faster, but he knows that it’s because you don’t want to hurt him.
He’d usually feel hurt, but right now? He feels like he’s glowing, whether because of your amount of praises over his new body and how much cuter he is, or because of the orgasm he was brought to a few seconds ago.
You angle your hips a certain way, rolling them as you try to reach him deeper and deeper, feeling him tremble under your hands as his hips twitch with every thrust, his plush thighs straining as they try not making him fall forward.
You’re not being as hard as you tended to be before his accident, yet he feels just as weak, even if his third orgasm is not even building as strong yet.
His drool is beginning to soak the bed, his eyes blinking back small tears as soft, high-pitched moans of what you think is “mommy” start growing louder. One of his hands near his head, gripping the sheets, slowly reaches towards his dick, whining in satisfaction as he times his strokes to your thrusts.
“You’re so good, baby.”
“Always my good boy.”
“You’re beautiful, yeah?”
“Love your softness, baby.”
“Mommy’s pretty boy, forever and always.”
And if Shoto cumming at that last sentence isn’t romantic enough for you, then him placing a hand on yours while thanking you through his happy tears should show you how much of a romantic your baby boy could be.

CLASSES
The Sun let its light brush against your skin, giving you a warm hug in the morning. You awoke to the pale blue skies that were painted so elegantly it made you stare. The cumulus clouds softly danced on its stage, etching a smile on your face. You looked around the room, checking for the clock to see what time it was currently.
10:00 a.m. - You were supposed to wake up at 8:00.
Worry rushed through you. The fear of you being late for class thrummed as you tried to get out of your bed.
Hint: tried.
You turned to your side and looked at the male beside you. His hands had found their way around your waist, pulling you in. His head was pressed against your shoulder. His twin-colored hair was disheveled thanks to him turning himself all through the night, His long eyelashes framed his closed lids, his lips slightly parted. Small snores came out in intervals as he snuggled into you, his vice grip around your body tightening even more.
You could help but trace his lips with your finger - it was so soft, you had to.
You pressed a kiss to his forehead, then laid your forehead against his.
“Get up, Sho - class starts in 10 minutes,” you said, rubbing his shoulder.
“I don’t want to, this is too comfortable,” he mumbled, rubbing his head on your shoulder.
“What are you, a cat?” You joked, placing your hands on his cheek, “Let me at least get my laptop on - I can tell Aizawa we’re sharing my laptop and we can just join the class here.”
“Getting the laptop means that you move - and you are not moving,” he said, tightening his grip on you.
“You know we’re going to be in trouble if we don’t join the class, right? Oh yeah, it starts in 5 minutes,” you said, slightly annoyed at him.
Shoto sighs in defeat, “Fine - but, hurry up,”
You pry his arms off of you and rush to your table to get the laptop on. Thankfully, you managed to join the class 3 minutes before it began.
“Aren’t you coming back in here?” Todoroki whined, patting the space beside him.
“Are you finally awake?” You question him.
“Kind of?”
“ ‘Kind of?’ “
“Yes, I am awake - I no longer need to sleep,” he groans.
You take your laptop and place it in the space between the two of you as you sit back on the bed. You pressed another kiss on his forehead, making him smile.
“Good morning, snowflake,” he says as he returns your kiss with one on your forehead.
“Good morning, Sho.”
“Now that you both have shown a great deal of affection, Y/N and Shoto,” Eraserhead says from your Zoom call, “Can my class finally begin?”
LUNCH BREAK
“I got the money from Aizawa for our meals! Can you all go through the menu and tell me what you want on the class group chat?” Momo shouted from the living room.
“Imagine eating great food for free?” Uraraka smiled, enjoying how our meals were paid for by the school itself, “The pandemic is amazing yet so annoying at the same time.”
You chuckle at the brown-haired girl, seeing her awe-filled expression.
“What are you getting?” You ask her.
“Hmm… maybe Udon? It’s been a long time since I ate it, and since it’s not coming from my pocket…” she eyed the menu, “I’m getting the most expensive one.”
“You know he gave a set amount for the whole class right?” You look at her mischievous expression.
“I’m pretty sure we can stay within the budget. Our class generally doesn’t spend much money on food, right?”
You looked across the room to see Kaminari and Kirishima going through the menu.
“You think those two will be reasonable with their spending? Knowing them, they’re most probably buying the whole menu plus snacks,” you say, looking at their joy-filled grins.
You saw Shoto walk beside Iida, heading towards the two males. Intrigued, you and Uraraka walked towards the group of four.
“Hey,” you say as you hug Shoto from the back, “Everything okay?”
“These two,” Iida said, anger laced in his words, “Ordered everything on the menu.”
You held back your laughter, unlike Uraraka.
“Your skills in predicting the future astound me, Y/N L/N,” she says, covering her mouth.
“Hush,” you say, smiling.
“The two of you…” Iida began, looking at the two wrongdoers, “I don’t know how your closer friends handle you two.”
You look at the scene unfolding in front of you, smiling.
Iida was full-on lecturing the two males, his hands moving in all ten directions. Kaminari and Kirishima just stood there, dumbfounded. You could see the two of them slowly spacing out from the ‘conversation’, but Iida kept going on.
“Hey,” Shoto whispered, “Wanna have a mini-date tonight? I’ll order a few things and get them sent here, and we can watch a movie together?”
“Don’t use the money Aizawa gave though - we don’t need a third victim of Iida’s lectures,” you whisper, earning a smile from the stoic male.
MINI-DATES
You opened the door to Shoto’s room, comfortably dressed in your Axolotl onesie. In your hands, you brought a hard drive filled with movies that you felt that you both would enjoy. Seeing that Shoto wasn’t in the room, you laid on his bed, waiting for the arrival of the owner of the room. Your eyes went straight to his mirror. He had slid multiple polaroid pictures of you and your friends in the corners of the mirror. Each one of the photos had a small remark, reminding you of all the memories you’ve made throughout your years in UA.
Your hands grazed on the photo he kept on the bedside table.
It was a picture of him and his mother smiling.
Your chest panged when you saw it. He had told you the story behind his scar and his life within the Todoroki household. His hatred for his father grew every day, yet he could never hate his mother - the very person who gave him the scar on his face.
“I love that picture, but not as much as I love this one,” Shoto said, pointing at a photo in the top-left corner of his mirror.
It was a picture of both of you visiting his mother with Fuyumi and Natsuo.
“I’ll admit Natsuo was not the most welcoming to the idea of me dating you, but he slowly loved you as a sibling. I did talk about you to Fuyumi a bunch of times, but she had her suspicions - that all changed when she met you, though. Mom…”
He hesitated, “...she didn’t like the idea of me dating anyone. Yet, you managed to make her like you so much, now she only asks about you whenever I call her,” he chuckled.
“My family loves you - except Endeavor, of course,” he groaned.
“He’ll come around, eventually. You, however,” you walk up to him and cup his face, “Need to talk to him properly - no filter, just say everything.”
You lie back down on the bed, patting the space beside you, “Hurry up - the snacks you bought are calling me.”
After multiple small banters, you both finally decided on Shrek and began to watch the movie.
After a while, you found yourself lying on Shoto’s chest, playing with his fingers as you focused on the movie. Shoto, however, stared at your cute expressions, taking mental notes of all the small things you did when a scene disgusted you, made you laugh or made you feel sad.
“Y/N,” he whispered in your ear once the movie ended, “Thanks for loving me.”
You turned to face the fire user, cupping his face in your hands. His fingers found their way in your hair, enjoying the feeling of your soft locks against his calloused skin. Your thumb began to move in circular motions, eager to feel his soft skin against yours. You stared into his dual-coloured eyes, enjoying the brown and icy blue flecks within each eye. He relaxed against your touch, warmth radiating from him to you.
“I love you so much, Sho - and I will no matter what happens later on.”
You shared a kiss under the glow of the pale moonlight, but all you cared about was how perfect the man you were kissing was.
TRAINING
“Hey Sho,” you say, nudging the male beside you, “You wanna train after this?”
“I can’t,” he said, looking down, “I asked Midoriya to help me with some things. The only time he’s free is after this, so…”
“Don’t worry, I’ll ask Uraraka!” you say, kissing him on the cheek, “Good luck with whatever you’re doing with Mido.”
Soon, both you and Uraraka headed to Ground Beta to train your hand-to-hand combat.
“Luckily all of us are vaccinated, or the training grounds wouldn’t be open,” you say, thinking.
“Okay, okay - you wanted to work on hand-to-hand combat, right?” You nodded.
Both you and Uraraka got into your positions, mentally preparing yourselves. You were ready to move towards her until you heard sounds coming from the entrance.
“Well, well, well - isn’t that two students from Class 3-A?” Monoma snickered.
You groaned before turning to face him.
“Hello, Monoma? Where’s Kendo?” you ask, hoping that the ginger would come and stop him.
“Kendo’s eating right now - don’t want to disturb her. I don’t mind messing with the two of you, though.”
“What’s the difference, Monoma?” Uraraka added, “We usually keep quiet, but Y/N and I would like to train, so it would be greatly appreciated if you either kept quiet or left.”
“Why would you want to train with them, though?” He said, looking at Uraraka, “They’re the weakest bitch in your whole class, aren’t they?”
“The fuck, Monoma?!” you shouted, “That’s going a bit too far, don’t you think?”
“What? I’m just stating facts; you entered the class later than everyone else, you’re quirkless since you depend on your weapons, you need to train with others so that you can win 10% of the time - don’t the facts say it all?”
“Monoma, you might want to - ”
“Stop? Why should I?” he laughed, “It’s about time someone told you the truth; you’re useless, unneeded, a waste of space, and never going to be a hero - not even a sidekick.”
“So, the student who single-handedly served you your own ass in a fight doesn’t deserve to stay, but your weak fucking self can stay?” Shoto chuckled darkly, his hand slowly freezing Monoma’s shoulder, “That’s a lot of self-confidence for someone who hasn’t fought well for 3 years straight.”
“Next time you talk shit about Y/N, don’t expect to leave without losing any limbs,” he shouted, scaring Monoma.
“Shoto,” you begin, “Let me fight my own battles.”
He stares at you and sighs. His vice grip on Monoma loosens as you walk towards him.
You run your sword against his hands, small cuts forming.
“Talk shit about me again and you won’t be standing. Get the fuck out, dumbass.”
Monoma runs out of Ground Beta, making you chuckle.
“Damn, Y/N,” Uraraka says from afar.
“That’s my lover,” Shoto says, smiling.
NIGHTMARES
You woke up to the sounds of Shoto whimpering in his sleep.
His clothes were soaked by his sweat, trails of tears strung down his face.
He was shaking - shivering.
Small screams of Natsuo, Fuyumi and Rei’s names escaped his lips along with soft sobs.
“Shoto!” You shouted, shaking him, “Wake up, it’s only a dream - they’re okay, they’re alive.”
You heard your name.
You heard his voice become louder, screaming your name in pain.
“I’m here, I’m fine,” you whisper in his ear.
“I’m right here, Shoto - I haven’t left you. I am here, hugging you. Wake up, okay?’
You heard his whimpers stop as he wrapped his arms around you. He nuzzled his face into your chest as you patted his head.
“Y/N…” you heard him mumble, “Y/N… you’re fine, right?”
“I’m fine, Sho. I’m here hugging you, aren’t I?”
He nodded, pressing his head against your chest.
“You want to talk about it?”
“No…” he trailed off.
“Okay, don’t worry,” you say, kissing him on his head.
“You want me to get you something? Milk, water…?” you ask him, slowly prying yourself off of him.
“Don’t go anywhere.”
“Ok then, koala - I’m not going anywhere,” you say, chuckling.
You hummed a song as you rubbed Shoto’s back, giving him warmth. You wiped the trail of tears and pressed kisses on his cheek.
If he needs you to be his haven, you’ll be an oasis from all the bad.
CLASS FUN
“Ok, so - everyone is here, right?” Mina said as she stood in the middle of the living room.
You looked at everyone in the living room. Everyone was excited - after all, it’s been a long time since you all did something together as a class.
“I think everyone’s here, Mina,” Shouji said, passing you your drink.
Shoto placed his head on your shoulder, groaning.
“What’s wrong with you?” you ask, worried.
“I wanted to just sleep in today…” he said, sulking.
“Come on, it’s been a long time since we did something as a class - who knows? This might be our last little thing as a class,” you retort.
He hummed in agreement, “Fine.”
“Great! Let’s bring back an old classic, shall we? The game that made all the couples in this classroom, the game that made the impossible possible,” she looked at Bakugou and Izuku, “Spin the Bottle Truth or Dare!”
“This fucking game?” Bakugo cussed.
“Relax, Kacchan~,” Kaminari said, teasing the other blonde.
“Shut up, dunce face,” Bakugo said with anger.
“Keep quiet, you two. Mina’s getting angry,” Kirishima said, eyeing the pink-haired female.
“So what if-”
“Kacchan, shush,” Izuku said, glaring at his partner.
“Thank you, my green-haired savior,” Mina said, smiling at Izuku.
“Let me re-explain how the game works; Person A will spin the bottle in the middle of the circle until it stops on Person B. Person A will play truth or dare with Person B. Clear?” Mina said, smiling.
The game soon spiraled out of control, just like everyone expected.
Kaminari danced in a maid dress, Shinsou was forced to call Aizawa and Present Mic ‘dads’ in a call on speaker, Kirishima was forced to scream “I’m hard!” out loud, and Mina sang Baby Shark to her lover - something we never thought Kirishima would enjoy.
In the last round, the bottle landed on Shoto.
The person who spun the bottle was Sero.
You knew he had something planned - you could see it in his eyes.
“Shoto Todoroki, truth or dare?” He said, smirking.
You looked at him, begging him to not choose dare.
“Truth, I guess?” he said, looking at you.
Phew.
“What do you and Y/N do when you’re alone?”
Shit.
“Take dare, take the dare, take the dare…” you mumbled under your breath, hoping he’d listen.
“Can I take the dare?” Shoto said, questioning your actions.
Phew.
“Make out with Y/N right here.”
Shit.
“Give them some privacy, Sero!” Uraraka shouted on your behalf.
“He already evaded the truth question, I’m not modifying the dare,” Sero said, huffing.
“Y/N,” Shoto said, looking at you, “Is it okay?”
You sigh in frustration, “I put us in this situation, Sho. Let’s just get it over with.”
Shoto smiled, looking at your pissed expression.
“Look at me,” he whispered in your ear, raising small goosebumps on your skin.
His hands slowly went to your cheeks, eyeing the flecks in your eyes - how they sparkled just for him and him alone. His thumb reached your lips and parted it - enjoying how you were putty in his hands. His hand slowly went from your cheek to your chin, raising it to make your forehead meet his.
“Geez, Y/N,” he said, lust filling his eyes, “You’re so perfect.”
He softly pressed his lips against yours. He sucked on your lips, enjoying the strawberry lip balm you put just before you entered the living room. Your hands gripped on his dual-colored hair, fingers entangled.
The soft kiss soon turned desperate, needy.
In, out, in, out - the synchronization of your lips.
The need for breath soon came and your lips parted from his.
“Well, that was something,” you said, laughing.

It was raining. The weather forecast hadn't said anything about showers, yet it was almost a storm. Luckily you only had about a block left before you reached Shoto's home. You were going there to spend some time together, since you had been dating for a while. Neither of you had said a word about it to anyone, but you both wanted to meet each other's families even if they just saw you as "the friend". Shoto's hand was holding yours tightly, leading the way to his home. At this point you didn't care about the rain, you were just happy to hold his hand. The two of you weren't exactly at a PDA stage, considering the fact that your relationship was secret and you were both very awkward when it came to love. Classic case of the first love. With your fingers intertwined you were still able to feel warm, despite the cold raindrops swatting at your face.
When you finally got to his house you didn't even get a chance to look at the outside. In fear of getting a cold, and let's be honest you're not going to stand out in the rain to look at a house, you ran inside as quickly as possible together. "I'll get you a change of clothes.", Shoto said between deep breaths, "... and maybe a shower." "That sounds good.", you chuckled and tried your best to not get water all over the floor by standing as still as possible. "Shoto, you know we could've gotten you a driver-", a woman was standing in the hallway, "Oh! You brought a friend with you?" You turned to Shoto, who was looking down at the floor. "You didn't tell anyone?", you whispered to him and since he didn't answer you turned your attention back to the woman, "I'm so sorry I didn't mean to intrued." "Oh, not at all! Don't worry about it, I was just not expecting it.", the woman smiled at you and went up to shake your hand, "I'm Fuyumi." "Y/N... it's really nice to meet you and I would shake your hand... but I'm kind of drenched at the moment.", you laughed awkwardly. "Right! I could show you to our bathroom and you could take a quick shower.", she said happily, "And I'm sure Shoto wouldn't mind sharing his clothes with you." "Actually I was thinking maybe she could borrow your clothes...", Shoto interrupted, "... so that they could fit better, you know." Fuyumi looked back and forth between you and Shoto. She narrowed her eyes slightly and it seemed as if something had clicked in her head. As if a lightbulb had turned off, shining light on a mischevious idea. "My clothes are all in the wash, just let her borrow your clothes.", she folded her arms over her chest, "Or do you have a problem with that?" "What? No, I just thought that you're clothes would fit better- and surely all of your clothes can't be in the wash.", Shoto said. "I said what I said.", Fuyumi huffed. "I don't mind, Shoto.", you said softly. Inside you were freaking out, you had never worn his clothes before! That's what cute couples do with one another, and you had barely even kissed yet! "See? She said she doesn't mind. Let's go, sweetie, I'll take you to the bathroom.", she said. You looked back on Shoto with an apologetic smile before following Fuyumi out of the corridor.
You're shower was really quick, considering you felt awkward using their shower products. Fuyumi had put a towel and a nicely folded pile of clothes for you to wear on a little table beside the sink. The towel was surprisingly soft. Together with the warm air of the bathroom you almost didn't want to leave. You looked over at the pile of clothes and instantly you felt intimidated. Shoto's clothes... for you to wear. With careful hands you put on the big hoodie along with the sweatpants. The legs of the sweatpants were too long so you had to roll them up to fit you. After putting on the slippers that were left for you, they were almost as soft as the towel, you made your way out of the bathroom.
Since you didn't know where to go you followed what you thought were Fuyumi's voice, along with another man's voice. When you reached your destination you found yourself in the kitchen. "I'm telling you, they're totally crush-", Fuyumi saw you in the corner of the eye and stopped talking, "Oh! You're done, great!" "Where's Shoto..?", you said a bit awkwardly. "He's in the bathroom.", the man with white hair answered. "Oh... you have two bathrooms?", you said, mostly to yourself. "Come here, I made some tea.", Fuyumi called you over to sit by the table, "And this is Natsuo, my brother." "It's nice to meet you. Shoto doesn't usually bring a lot of people home, it's great to see he's making friends.", he said with a gentle smile. You nodded and sat down by the table, immediately being offered a cup of tea. "The clothes... they're not uncomfortable right?", Fuyumi asked. "Not at all.", you answered and took a sip of the tea, "Thank you so much for letting me borrow your bathroom." "Of course, I couldn't just let you catch a cold.", she smiled. "So is Shoto doing well in school?", Natsuo asked. It almost felt like you were being interrogated. "Yes of course... I mean, you saw the tournament didn't you? He's at the top of our class." "I mean socially." "Oh... well, from what I've seen he's getting more comfortable around everyone.", you thought for a while before adding, "Some people have described him as distant, but I don't see it." "Maybe he's just like that around-", Fuyumi started but got cut off by someone walking into the room. "Y/N.", Shoto said from behind you, "Let's go." You looked over your shoulder and nodded to him. He was wearing an oversized light blue sweater along with a black pair of, what you assumed was, jeans. His hair wasn't damp, it seemed as if he had used a hairdryer, but he still had a towel hung over his shoulder. "Thank you for the tea.", you got up and bowed slightly, "It's been nice to meet you both." "No problem." Fuyumi said and you could feel her eyes on you as you walked away. When you got up to Shoto he didn't start walking like you thought he would. Instead he took the towel off his shoulder and put it over your still damp hair. "I knew you wouldn't dry your hair properly...", he muttered, "What's the point of showering to not get sick if you're gonna leave your hair wet and get cold?" He started ruffling your hair to dry it. Even though it was a sweet gesture, and the towel was very soft and nice, you could still feel Fuyumi watching you. You grabbed Shoto's wrist and, despite your flustered face, tried to look him in the eye. His face also turned red when he realized what he was doing. You heard his siblings snicker to each other, but before you could look Shoto turned you around and started walking in the other direction.
You reached his room and sat down on the nearest surface, which just happened to be on his bed. There you reached up to your head, where the towel was still laying, and just like Shoto had done before - you started drying it by ruffling it around. "If the clothes are too big I can go ask Fuyumi again if you can borrow her clothes. I'm sure all of her clothes can't be in the wash.", Shoto said as he softly looked at you. "She already asked me, actually.", you put the towel around your shoulders and looked up at Shoto, "I don't mind... your clothes are nice." "Ah...", he looked away from you with burning cheeks, "... thank you." "No problem.", you chuckled with a bright smile. When you looked around you noticed a big bookshelf. Curiosity took over and you walked over to it. There were so many books, counting them would possibly take hours. Yet, you took your time skimming through the titles. The wind's twelve quarters, Human acts, The bluest eye... your counting was interrupted when you felt Shoto's eyes on you. When you looked back at him he had a soft, unintelligible, look on his face. "Would you mind reading for me?", you asked and picked out the book right in front of you. "... sure. But I wouldn't recommend that one, the beginning's a bit boring. You'll just fall asleep immediately.", he got up from his place in an armchair. He stood right behind you and reached a bit higher up on the bookshelf. Your eyes studied his hand as it moved from book to book until he found the one he wanted. The Remains of the Day. "Maybe this one?", he asked. "Sure.", you nodded. Though you regret your desicion quickly. Not because you realized it was a bad choice of book. But because as soon as the word slipped out your mouth Shoto backed away. The closest thing to a back hug was gone in a few seconds by the hand of author Kazuo Ishiguro. "Do you want to lie down while we read?", Shoto asked, bringing you out of your thoughts. "Hm? Oh, sure." Shoto layed down on top of the covers of his bed and you followed after him. He was slightly lifted up by his pillows, since reading while laying completely flat would be a bit hard. Unsure of what to do, you sat down beside him instead of laying down. "You can lay here.", he patted on the place next to him. Without saying anything, because you simply couldn't muster a word, you laid down on his arm, right by his shoulder. You were so close to his chest you could hear his heart beating. Slow and rhythmic beats. In comparison, you seemed to have run a marathon. Shoto brought his arm up so that it was wrapped around you and so that he could hold the book with both hands. That meant that you couldn't lay on his arm anymore. By the power of simple anatomy, when he lifted his arm up it was like he was hugging you closer. You were about to roll over, so you put your hand on his shoulder that furthest away from you and put one of your legs over his body. Now you were in a full on cuddling position. His jaw was right next to your forehead and you didn't dare look up. "Are you comfortable?", he asked and you could feel his breath on your face. "... yes.", you muttered out, "Are you?" "I'm good... I should start reading then...", he seemed calm enough, "It seemed increasingly likely that I really..." Distracted by his soft voice, you closed your eyes and let yourself relax fully. Your head ended up in the crook of his neck and now you could really hear his heartbeat. It was way faster than you thought at first, which meant he was more nervous then it seemed. Somehow you found this comforting, and it made you more daring. You nuzzled your face a bit closer to him, which in response he stopped reading. "Is this okay?", you asked carefully, now keeping completely still. "Yeah... it's nice.", he muttered, barely audible. After you hummed in response he kept reading. You started drawing small shaped with the hand that was on his shoulder. He didn't interrupt the story this time so you kept doing it. The sound of his voice, the rhythmic beating of his heart, and the rain smattering against the window made for an
amazing atmosphere. Not to mention the room smelled like him. Comfortingly so. It was enough for you to close your eyes and slowly drift off to sleep. Once Shoto realized that you were no longer awake he carefully put the book away and wrapped his arms around you, closing his eyes as well.
A knock at the door woke you both up. When you realized the position you were in the two of you scrambled to get away from each other. "Yeah?", Shoto said as he was trying to compose himself. You got off the bed and pretended to look at his bookshelf again. The door opened, it was Fuyumi. "Sorry to bother you. I have your clothes, fresh from the dryer, and I just wanted to know if Y/N wants to eat here or not.", she said with a soft smile. "Wait, what time is it?", you asked. "It's already six pm, didn't you know?", she was surprised, "Well I guess time flies." "Oh- I should really get home, I totally forgot the time.", you said and looked back at Shoto. You noticed that his hair was a bit messy and you guessed that yours was as well. By the look in Fuyumi's eyes your guess was correct. She held out a bag with your clothes in it for you to grab. "Here you go.", she smiled brightly. You thanked her and then rushed to the bathroom, leaving Shoto alone with his sister.
When you got back Fuyumi wasn't there anymore. "Thank you for bringing me over... and sorry I fell asleep while you were reading.", you said to Shoto while handing him his clothes. "To be honest I haven't slept that well in a while.", he smiled warmly and put the clothes on his bed. "Really? So... then...", you were hesitant to say it but it was now or never, "... could we do it again?" "... sure.", he nodded.
The two of you made your way to the front door. As you were putting on your shoes you heard footsteps approaching. "It was nice meeting you.", Fuyumi said from further down the hall. "Even if Shoto practically dragged you away from us.", Natsuo added. As you finished tying your shoes and were about to say goodbye but you didn't have time before Shoto grabbed your hand and led you out the door. You heard Fuyumi excitedly gasp and Natsuo mumble "I told you so". Shoto turned around and looked at his siblings. "What? Am I not allowed to hold my girlfriends hand without you making a fuss?", he told them before taking you home, still hand in hand. You could hear Fuyumi and Natsuo talking loudly behind you. If it weren't for the shock you would've been laughing right now. Still, you could only stare at Shoto in awe. "I thought you said you didn't want them to know.", you said after walking for a while. "They would pester me about it if they didn't.", he shrugged, "And I don't see the point in hiding you."

You frown down at the mysterious text from the unknown number. Something about it gave you an uneasy feeling but you brush it aside for now. You have other things to focus on. Other things like the fact that the way to Shoto’s house is looking awfully familiar. “Do you still live in our old neighborhood?” you ask suddenly as you and Shoto walk side by side. “Yes. Different house but same neighborhood, why?” he asks. “This is where we moved back to,” you explain, “my house is down that way.” “In that case do you want to invite your mom as well?” Shoto asks but you shake your head. “She’s working a shift right now. Maybe next time?” you offer. “Next time,” Shoto replies with a soft smile.
Something warm blooms in his chest at your mention of a next time. He’d missed you over the years certainly, but he didn’t realize just how much until he finally had you back. You’re different now, sure, but so is he. Neither of you are the children you once were and yet reconnecting had been as natural as anything else. The two of you had slipped back into a rhythm as if no time had passed and he was forever grateful for that. He watched your face as the two of you walk, your eyes lit up with a combination of nerves and excitement, and he has a flickering thought that you look absolutely beautiful that way. “Is there something on my face?” you ask suddenly. “What?” he asks, blinking at you in confusion. “You’re staring Sho,” you laugh. “Oh! Sorry,” he says, a light flush dusting his cheeks as he sharply turns his gaze away. “It’s fine! It’s still weird being friends again for me too,” you assure him. “Yes... Yes you’re right, that’s it,” Shoto says, more to himself than you, as you finally arrive at his house.
Shoto pushes open the door, calling out to let the family know he’s arrived. Rei comes from the kitchen, wiping her hands off on a dish rag, but stops in her tracks when she spots you. You freeze in place as you wait to see how she’ll react. You haven’t seen her since her hospitalization. There are more wrinkles at the corners of her eyes then the last time you saw her and you hope it’s from smiling more since she was released after the Dabi incident. You start to see tears gathering in the corners of her eyes but before you can apologize for upsetting her, she’s striding forward to pull you into a hug. It takes you a second to process what’s happening but then you eagerly return the hug, clutching her tightly to you. Her hand strokes over your hair gently a couple times before she pulls back to look at you properly. “You’ve gotten so big! And your performance at the sports festival was truly incredible,” she compliments you. “Ah thank you,” you reply sheepishly. “Come in, come in. How’s your mother doing? I’ve missed her,” Rei asks as she ushers you through to the dining room. “She’s doing well! Work keeps her busy most of the time though,” you respond.
Shoto trails behind, watching fondly as his mother fawns over you. He stops in the kitchen to say hi to his sister who is attending to the food still cooking. “You brought a new friend home instead of Midoriya and Bakugo,” she notes. “Not a new friend, look closer,” Shoto corrects as he leans against the counter next to his sister. She stops what she’s doing to take a closer look at you, eyes widening in disbelief after a moment. “Is that-“ “Yep.” “I thought you said she hated you.” “We made up at the sports festival.” “I’m happy for you,” Fuyumi smiles. “Thank you,” Shoto replies as his eyes wander back to where his mother continues to chatter away with you at the kitchen table. He startles slightly as a hand claps him on the shoulder, turning to find Natsuo has finally arrived. “Been a minute baby bro. The living nightmare hasn’t arrived yet has he?” Natsuo asks casually. “Blissfully no, although I doubt that will last much longer,” Shoto acknowledges. “Will you two play nice? Shoto brought a guest,” Fuyumi chides. “Oh dumpster fire mentioned that, is it not the usual two?” Natsuo asks curiously. “Nope,” Shoto replies. “It’s sweet little (y/n). Remember her?” Fuyumi exclaims. “Ah she’s a little different than you remember,” Shoto chuckles but before he can elaborate Rei is returning to shoo all of her children into the dining room while she finishes up.
It’s nice talking to the Todoroki siblings and catching up. You’d never really known Natsuo and Fuyumi growing up so you appreciate getting the opportunity to now. You’d even managed not to get too outlandish as you joked around with them, your self-proclaimed gremlin nature laying dormant. At least until Endeavor finally returned home. None of you heard the front door open, too wrapped up in your conversation. He walks into the room and although he’s initially happy to see his family laughing and talking together, his eyes narrow as he spots you. “What are you doing here?” he asks, standing to his full height. “Shoto did you hear that? Sounds like a little bitch talking,” you snap instinctively, as you turn to glare at the new arrival. Everyone but Shoto and Endeavor look surprised. “Shoto I was under the impression you’d be bringing a friend along,” Endeavor replies through gritted teeth. “I did bring a friend,” Shoto replies easily. “You said she hated you,” Endeavor fires back. “Past tense! We settled our differences through the only language you and my father taught us. Violence,” you cut in, grin a little feral. “Do not lump me in with that villain,” Endeavor all but growls. “But that was your training buddy,” Shoto refutes with a straight face. “I do recall you two proclaiming you’d die for each other on multiple occasions,” you taunt. “Ah yes, everyone knows best friends who abuse children together, stay together,” Shoto adds. Fuyumi and Rei watch on stunned as Natsuo barely suppresses his surprised laughter at you and Shoto’s comments. “I, at least, am trying to be better,” Endeavor snaps. “Try harder,” you and Shoto both say at the exact same time. Endeavor looks as if he’s about to growl out another response but Rei is swiftly out of her seat to put a placating hand on Endeavor’s chest. “Ok, ok, let’s call a truce. Enji you go get changed out of your work uniform and then we can all just sit down for a nice meal,” Rei proposes. Endeavor mutters something under his breath but agrees none the less before storming off to go get changed. “Ok, petition for (y/n) to replace dad at all family functions?” Natsuo grins. “Natsuo,” Rei chides gently. “I second the petition,” Shoto replies, causing you to cackle. The fondly exasperated look on Rei’s face makes dealing with Endeavor worth it.
The dinner goes surprisingly smoothly even with Endeavor there. He seems far less intimidating when he’s not in his hero costume, which only further enables you and Shoto’s belligerence any time the man dares make his displeasure with your presence known. You can’t imagine why you were worried about them accepting you. The entire night is suffused with a warmth you’ve missed. You love your mother but the past several years have been difficult for her. To suddenly be solely responsible for supporting both of you financially all while dealing with the stigma of her husband’s reputation has meant work is twice as hard and keeps her twice as busy as it did when you were younger. You had missed having Mrs. Todoroki to lean on and in many ways she feels like a second mother to you. Not to mention finally getting to interact properly with Natsuo and Fuyumi. When dinner is finished, Endeavor and Rei are the ones to clear up the plates and begin cleaning up the kitchen. You keep talking with Fuyumi, Natsuo, and Shoto for awhile before you finally decide to get up and grab some water from the kitchen. You excuse yourself from the table and head that direction, but just before you enter the other room you notice Rei and Enji speaking in hushed voices to each other. Curiosity drives you closer and you decide to hover on the other side of the doorway and eavesdrop.
“I thought you and Shoto were making progress. What happened?” Rei asks with concern as Endeavor scrubs away at a dish. “That girl happened,” Endeavor replies. “That girl has a name,” Rei says warningly. “Yes she does. It’s (Y/l/n) and I seem to be the only one who remembers that fact,” Enji retorts. “You cannot judge her by the sins of her father.” “She was there Rei. He brought her for a reason.” “Yes, just as you took Touya out to the woods that day for a reason. Just because you have a certain intent doesn’t mean your children will share it. You should know better than anyone that being related to a villain doesn’t make someone one.” “I’m just trying to protect Shoto from the betrayal and pain I felt. I don’t want her hurting him.” “I know but whether she’s going to hurt him or not, that’s a mistake he’ll have to make himself.”
You try not to flinch at Rei’s words. You’re used to people doubting your intentions because of your father but to hear it from Rei stings. You’d expected her to insist you’d never hurt Shoto. You decide you don’t want to hear anymore and head back to the dining room, water glass still empty. “I thought you went to grab water,” Fuyumi points out as you return. “Oh, I ended up drinking it on the way back over here and I’m too lazy to go refill it again,” you lie. She and Natsuo seem to accept the lie easily, resuming the conversation they’d been having, but Shoto gives you a concerned look. He scans your face as if he could ascertain what’s wrong if he looked hard enough. He catches your eye and mouths “what’s wrong?” but you simply shake your head and give him what you hope is a reassuring smile.
Eventually it’s time for you and Shoto to head back to the dorms. You swallow down your hurt as you hug Rei goodbye and then say your goodbyes to the other Todoroki siblings. Endeavor hovers in the doorway out of obligation, saying his goodbyes to Shoto before staring at you warily. “Good seeing you too, fuckface,” you tell him with a roll of your eyes. You count Shoto’s amused smile as a win. As the two of you start walking to the train that will take you back towards campus, part of you worries that Shoto will grill you on what’s wrong now that the two of you are alone. He looks somewhat deep in thought as the two of you walk and you brace yourself for the question you’re not prepared to answer as he finally opens his mouth. “Want to have another movie night tonight?” he finally asks. You blink at him in confusion for a moment as the words process. When you fully realize he’s not pressuring you to tell him what’s wrong, relief washes over you like a wave. “That sounds perfect,” you sigh, some of the tension leaving your body on the exhale. “Great,” Shoto affirms and when the two of you make eye contact you know he understands how you’re feeling perfectly. The two of you continue on your way in companionable silence and, not for the first time, you find yourself incredibly grateful to have Shoto by your side again.
A/N: I live for Shoto and (y/n) roasting Endeavor tbh. Also Rei only phrased things the way she did because she was trying to appeal to Endeavor and didn’t think the kids would hear her. This is why you shouldn’t eavesdrop 🥲 Anyway, next chapter we’ll finally find out what exactly happened when (y/n) was 8 and why her father is so hated.

Relative
Families sure are complicated, aren’t they.
It’s been a long time since you’ve felt this nervous. You’re a hero, what are you even worried about? The week before you learned you were pregnant, you took down six villains armed with more guns than brains without breaking a sweat. Meeting your illegitimate child’s sibling shouldn’t be this stressful compared to your regular job!
You already know things won’t go well when Endeavor says he’ll be telling his other children about their baby sister, and you can understand their feelings. Poor Fuyumi is heartbroken at this final act of betrayal from her father and can’t bring herself to face you. Natsuo is furious and chooses to cut the few ties he still has to Enji. Shoto just stares at the older man in silent disappointment, never saying a word about the issue. You hear about all of this later, the next time he visits your daughter. You two don’t talk about it much but he never shows any anger towards their reactions, just a quiet acceptance that he’s failed them yet again.
It’s been almost three months since he dropped that bomb on them. You don’t expect any of them to be interested in Hikari, and you can’t blame them for wanting nothing to do with her. It’s a surprise to you one day when he mentions that Shoto’s asked about her and is willing to meet your daughter. You agree, cautiously optimistic that she could have some relationship with the rest of her family.
The day arrives, and you’re far too anxious for what should be a simple introduction. You clean your apartment top to bottom until it’s spotless; you can’t remember the last time your living room looked this good. Hikari fusses over the bath you give her, and even more as you change your mind again and again on her clothes before you finally settle on an adorable yellow dress decorated with a bright orange sun. You’re not as worried about your own outfit; if you wanted to make a good impression you probably shouldn’t have had an affair. You double check that everything is in order and sit down to read Hikari one of her picture books while you wait for your guests.
“I’m sure I don’t have to tell you this, but be nice.” You hear the familiar deep voice through the door before he can knock. You swallow and force yourself to take a deep breath, hoisting your daughter onto your hip and going to greet them.
“Hi!” Your voice is a little too loud and shrill, betraying your nerves. You clear your throat and try again. “Hi. Come in, please.” You get your first good look at Hikari’s older brother and your stomach twists into a knot at the huge scar across his face. You don’t know the full details about what happened, it was never your place to ask, but you’ve pieced together that Enji was at least partially responsible for the injury. You’re not afraid that he might repeat whatever he did, but the idea still makes you feel sick.
Your little girl doesn’t notice the awkward silence in the room, only that her father is here and she’d rather be in his arms now. He takes her from you, and you wonder if the small smile he gives her makes any of this better or worse for the boy next to him. “So, you must be Shoto,” you say, introducing yourself as he shakes you hand without a word. “I, um, I really appreciate that you came. She’s still so young, but it’d be nice if Hikari can get to know any of you.”
His expression remains blank. “Do you really expect Endeavor to be a good father?” The kid doesn’t mince words and you have to admit, you can respect that.
You’re caught off guard and stammer your way through a response. “Well...I mean, we obviously...I wasn’t--” You sigh and run a hand through your hair. “He’s trying, you know? I understand that he did a lot of things wrong with you guys, and I don’t know everything about that.” The man in question is still standing in front of you, and you meet his eyes for a moment. “But our situation is different, and I’m willing to give him the chance to be there for her. It’s been going okay so far.”
Shoto only gives you a half-hearted shrug, clearly not convinced with your assessment. Hikari, on the other hand, has finally become aware of this new person in her home and stares at him with interest. When he looks back, you can see the wheels in his head turning as he recognizes their matching blue eyes and fully realizes that the two of them are inescapably connected. “This is my sister,” he says, more to himself than you.
“You can hold her, if you want,” you suggest, prodding Endeavor to offer the baby to him. Shoto seems almost confused as he reaches out for her, grabbing the infant by her sides and keeping her at arm’s length. The two stare at each other with near-identical expressions, both seeming baffled by their sibling. Then finally, her tiny arms reach out to him and a toothless grin spreads across her face. You gasp and grab onto Enji’s arm automatically. “Look, she smiled! Oh my god, she’s never done that before!”
“Is that normal?”
“It’s better than normal,” you insist, all your awkward feelings vanishing in the excitement. You adjust his arms so he can cradle her properly, and he lets you reposition him without question. “Babies don’t know how to smile, not really. It’s kind of just an instinct at first, and it takes a couple months for them to figure out what it actually means.” She’s still beaming up at him, her little feet kicking out energetically as she babbles a few happy noises. “I think she’s happy to meet you.”
Shoto watches her silently, clearly unsure of how to feel about this new development. “She’s happy?” You nod, watching intently as the two of them get to know each other. He’s surprisingly comfortable with her for someone who’s never spent much time around babies before. You manage to keep things pleasant while you tell him about her life, when she was born and what her personality seems like so far.
Of course, it isn’t an entirely cheerful conversation. He has some pretty reasonable questions about exactly how his father ended up with another child, and you do your best to explain yourself. You may feel guilty about what you’ve done, but you love Hikari more than you ever imagined and you could never regret the path that’s led you to your daughter. He doesn’t seem entirely satisfied with your answer, but his baby sister coos at him and he focuses on her instead. Really, this little meeting has gone remarkably well considering the circumstances. Endeavor’s been unexpectedly quiet for the most part as he’s observed his children, which is honestly more of a blessing than anything.
They don’t stay much longer before the agency calls with a request for support and they’re obligated to head back. Hikari’s fallen asleep in her brother’s arms, she lets out a little whine but doesn’t wake up when you take her from him. You walk them to your door and thank them for coming, speaking quietly to avoid waking the baby.
Shoto takes a long look at her before he leaves. “I’d like to see her again.”
“She’d like that too,” you agree. “Let me know when you want to come over again.” You close the door behind them, and immediately the baby stirs and starts wailing. “Don’t worry, sweetheart. I’m sure Big Brother will come back and visit you soon.”

A/N: This is my first fic on my new blog and I am so excited about it! I hope you enjoy
**************************
You knew hero work wasn't going to be easy but there was still a tiny part of you that thought you'd be snatched up by a top agency right away with your flashy suit and unique quirk. That wasn't quite the case.
In fact the opposite happened, your strong quirk had very little drawbacks and many people saw it as dangerous, the nature of your quirk drew villain organisations to you. You defeated them, reported, even 'disposed' of some of them but there was one organisation you couldn't quite shake.
It was your loyalty to the side of heroes and your impressive skill set showcased in your fights that caught the eye of the Endeavour agency. Today was your first day at the agency, it had been a full year since your graduation from shiketsu, and it hadn't properly sank in yet until you were pulling on your hero suit in the women's changing room and a fiery haired sidekick basically pounced on you.
"Aren't you the new girl? I'm Moe Kamiji, my hero name is Burnin'"
She was beautiful, her hair was unique and her loud personality made you envy her. Her inquisitive staring distracted you and you almost tripped pulling up your body suit. She chuckled and helped steady you before offering to help you zip up.
"I'm y/n l/n, my hero name is Phantom Light"
"from what I've seen of your quirk, you're like a ghost type pokemon! that's so cool"
If she sensed your nervousness or felt the heat rising in your face, she didn't mention it. She instead just waited for you to tug on your boots and rambled about how much she loves working at the agency. Her bright attitude was nowhere near what you expected walking into a workplace run by the most intimidating man you've ever seen. She had a natural warmth to her that seemed to calm your fears. You guessed that they sic her on all the newbies at the agency because of that.
"well I'll show you around, newbie"
She looked confident and comfortable as she showed you around the main floors and you only hoped to feel the same way soon. You had already seen the reception and social media/pr team offices as they were on the way to the changing room but Moe had shown you the gyms with in-house saunas, break rooms, conferences rooms, and investigation rooms. The place was huge and despite being full of people, felt empty. It was terrifying, but still exactly what you expected from the new number one. Moe's phone beeped as you passed into another hallway and she pulled it from her bra to check.
"I regret not asking for pockets on this thing" she growled "shit, I'm being called to a villain attack not far from here, you're on your own for now, newbie." she turned to run down the hallway.
"Thank you Kami-"
"Call me Moe!" and before you could even respond she was gone. Your nerves suddenly came flooding back without your new friend there to ease them. With your 'almost fall' in the changing room and Moe leaving when you needed her most, it seemed lady luck was not on your side today. Right as you turned the corner you smacked right into someone exiting an office and they spilled their coffee down your shirt.
“Oh i’m so sorry!”
“It's ok, my hero suit is quite thick so it's not that bad” you attempted to laugh it off but paused as you finally looked up. Your blood ran cold as you realised who you bumped into. The six foot five figure of your boss loomed over you. On your first day you just so happened to bump into Endeavour's son and cause a coffee spill right in front of the man himself. “I-it was my fault any-”
“You just started today and you’re already causing problems, we scouted you because of your impressive skill set but -”
“Shut up, old man” Endeavour's face immediately twitched in anger but he listened to his son, not wanting to cause a scene with him. “It was an accident and it was both of our faults” Endeavour looked embarrassed but grunted something inaudible under his breath. “I'm Natsuo, I'm sorry about your suit, take this” he held his jacket out to you.
“Its ok, it's just a stain”
“Please I insist”
You took it, not wanting him to be offended, and you got a chance to get a proper look at him. He awkwardly scratched his neck as you put on the jacket. There was a brief moment of awkward silence before Endeavour pushed Natsuo past you and carried on walking down the hall. You shook your head to try and rid you of your shame, you hoped you had not just ruined your big shot in the hero world. You walked back down to the offices, keeping your head down as you passed Endeavour and Natsuo to avoid the awkward eye contact. Endeavour was immensely intimidating so you wanted to avoid getting further onto his bad side as much as possible. You filled out the last of your paperwork and set out on your daily patrol.
You kept the jacket on during your patrol and kept in mind that you should take it off to fight but hoped that wouldn't be necessary. You wandered your designated streets, taking in the general hustle and bustle of the town. Bike bells and shop doors opening were sounds you considered comforting. You nodded at people as you passed them, even stopping to say hi to some kids, and stopped at a cafe for a drink. You walked with your drink, hoping for a peaceful end to your work day, until the bird chirping and happy kids turned to screams for help. Your feet, as if on autopilot, followed the sounds until you turned a corner and came face to face with a guy harassing a group of high school girls. You recognised his face from the news, he was a low level villain who had abducted some high school students over the last 3 weeks. He didn't have any strong quirk that you knew of so you went straight in with a strong punch. However, in your haste, you failed to notice the knife he had concealed until he swung it in your direction and he caught your stomach. It wasn't so deep that it needed immediate attention so you continued to fight him off. you had shouted at the girls to leave the alley but they were frozen in place. Fear sometimes acts as an invisible paralytic,
one that we can't or struggle to fight against.
He had gotten in a couple of good swings but once you knocked the knife out of his hand he was pretty much useless. You gave him a harsh elbow to the nose that definitely broke it, a noise that you didn't wanna admit made you feel good and all but knocked him out with the hardest punch you could throw. While he was incapacitated you leaned down to slip him under your control into his body to possess him to make him easier to carry. Your quirk was called 'ghost' which not only gave you the ghostly ability to walk through walls but also to possess people and communicate with the dead. Your possession ability works like a telepathically controlled puppet instead of a typical spirit possession. Once you had his unconscious form up and ready to walk himself to the nearby police you made an attempt to calm the girls and make sure they followed you to the police so police could do safety checks and collect statements. You found it was easy to keep them distracted from their feelings by talking to them and answering questions they might have. You learned one of the girls, a short girl with black hair and black bunny ears, was named Hoshi.
"Are you a pro hero?"
"yup! I started at the Endeavour agency today!"
"Saturday is a weird day to start a new job"
"There's no such thing as weekends when you're a hero" you chuckled at the way she rolled her eyes.
"Don't I know it. My dad is a pro too"
"oh really?"
"yeah but he's away visiting my stepdad"
Your conversation abruptly stopped when police arrived on the scene and took both the unconscious villain and Hoshi away from your custody. The only thing left to do now was find where you had left Natsuo's jacket and head back to the agency to get stitched up. You ran back to a bench you passed to luckily find Natsuo's jacket still there. you didn't wanna get blood on it so you carried it back to the agency instead.
When you walked back in the agency building, Endeavour was standing in the office, handing paperwork to the receptionist, and he noticed you almost immediately.
"Phantom Light, what happened?"
"I got that guy who was abducting high school kids, the one that's been all over local news" Your chest felt heavy as you struggled to pant out your sentence. You were holding your free hand over the wound, putting as much pressure as possible on it to reduce bleeding.
"You're gonna need stitches, I'll take you to our in house doctor" He seemed a lot less tense than he did earlier and Natsuo was nowhere to be seen. You muttered a thank you and slowly walked behind him. He led you to a white door with a black metal name plate on it reading 'Dr.Kita'. You thanked Endeavour again and wandered into the room.
"Good work today, Phantom Light'' was the last thing he said before he shut the door behind you. He was being a lot nicer and even attempting to be encouraging which you figured was his own way of apologising for yelling at you earlier.
The doctor was a tall guy around forty with yellow eyes and brunette hair that was already starting to grey. He welcomed you and got you to lie down on the bench so that he could stitch you back up. He was very talkative, as most doctors are as a way to distract from pain, and he asked about a couple other visible scars to focus your mind elsewhere.
"I got the skin graft about a year ago, I got in a fight with some villain who had a fire quirk. I wasn't even at an agency yet, I was still looking to get scouted, but I walked past him harassing this man for money and I couldn't just walk past it" The doctor nodded as you told the story of the man with white hair and some nasty facial scars who burned you last year. You hissed as the final stitch went through and the doctor clasped his hands together.
"that's you all fixed up, now you just need to change and go home" he said, helping you off the bench and shaking your hand.
You walked back to the changing room and shoved your coffee and blood stained clothes in a bag and changed into your normal clothes. On your way out the building you passed Moe who all but begged for your phone number before you left.
The walk home was quiet and peaceful, The sunset was pretty and nice to watch as you made your way to the train station. The subway ride home had very few people and it was nice to have some time to yourself. You almost missed your stop though because your mind kept drifting back to white fluffy hair and pretty grey eyes. Natsuo was all you could think about. It didn't help that you had his jacket wrapped around you. The smell of an expensive cologne lingered around the collar, it was faint and softer than the cologne you expected him to wear. It was nice and comforting, a smell you could get used to.
Once you got back to your house you used your quirk to pass through the door - which is always locked because you used your quirk and had no reason to open it unless you were expecting food delivery. When you turned around to kick off your shoes you noticed the chain lock had been busted open. You quickly looked around the entrance to your house to check if anything was missing but everything was exactly as you left it in the morning. You dumped your duffle bag full of dirty clothes on the floor and went to check around the rest of the house. You upturned cushions, sifted through cupboards and looked underneath your copious number of house plants but everything seemed normal and in its right place. The only place left to check was your bedroom. Your hand shook as you grasped the door handle nervous to see if anything had been taken but when you walked in you couldn't see anything out of place until you turned your head to the dresser and there it was. Tucked into the frame of a photo of you and your brother sat a playing card, the ace of spades to be exact, with a time written on it.

Y/N Finds Out|-Todoroki Chat| The School Incident| Sero’s Torture
The School Incident
Pulling into the school parking lot Y/N parked her car. Softly she leaned forward placing her head on the steering wheel. Evening her breaths she tried to curb the rage she was feeling towards her family. Sometimes they could be so fucking ridiculous. Huffing she clapped her hands, they’d get what was coming to them; but first she needed to deal with this stupid meeting.
Stepping out of her car she noticed another person that had parked next to her. Smiling politely he nodded in return. Silently the both of them made their way to the front of the school. As they reached the door, the man next to her grabbed it ushering her in before him. Muttering a thank you, Y/N continued forward towards the administration office. Taking in the art on the walls, the man next to her finally spoke. “Are you here for a parent teacher conference?” he asked softly. Y/N smiled tightly nodding her answer. “I’d like to apologize in advance for whatever it is my granddaughter did.” he huffed out, shaking his head. Y/N tipped her head back bell like laughter reaching the stranger’s ears. “I’m sure whatever is, my son is partially responsible. He has a bit of a mouth on him” she stated grinning fondly. The stranger snorted. “So does my granddaughter.” he paused slightly. “I don’t know if my husband is to blame, or her fathers; but I guess we’ll find out.” Nodding they carried on in silence.
Walking past her sons class, Y/N peeked through the little window to see that his normal teacher wasn’t in there. Letting out a low whine she stomped her foot childishly. The man next to her took a peek as well and stepped back with a grimace. “Of course that crazy bitch would be in the meeting.” she sneered arms crossing as they continued on. Letting out a chuckle the man next to her responded. “So Aiko-san doesn’t like you either?” rolling her eyes, Y/N waved her arm in front of her. “Of course she doesn’t like me. I’m a single mom to a 6 year old boy. Naturally, I’m the scum of the earth to miss priss.” Side eyeing him she asked, “Why doesn’t she like you? She sad you’ve got a husband or something?” Chuckling deeply he shook his head. “No...She doesn’t like me because every time there is something remotely related to school my husband and I come in place of her two dads.” “Are you...are you fucking serious?” Y/N huffed out in disbelief. “Like does she not understand that they’re gay or like?” eyes moving to the wall sentence trailing off. Choking out a bark of laughter he continued. “They’re not gay, by any means...my son found his daughter on his doorstep one night when she was a baby, and he and his best friend decided they would raise her with their girlfriend at the time...” he stated trailing off his sentence as well. Y/N could sense the tension in the subject and let it drop. She was never one to pry in anyone’s business. The man next to her found a respect for that.
Making idle chit chat the two adults made it to the office. Sliding the door aside, Y/N stepped through first, the man following behind her. Immediately her eyes fell upon the woman in front of her. Fake saccharine smile on her face. Bowing, she gave her greeting. “Good morning sir, Aiko-san.” Clapping his hands, the Principle bowed greeting them. “Ms. L/N, Mr. Aizawa thanks for coming in so early. We wanted to handle the situation as soon as possible.” He made a motion for the two to take a seat. With a start Aiko spoke a tight lipped smile on her face. “Mr. Aizawa, I was under the impression that Eri-chan’s fathers would be here today.” Y/N seized Aizawa’s sleeve squeezing as she tried to keep the screech she wanted to release at bay. He smirked trying to hold in his own laughter and turned to answer the statement. “Yes well, they had an urgent business meeting that needed their attention. My husband had classes and I was available. Apologies if that is not what you were expecting.” he nodded matching saccharine smile on his face.
“As fun as this is, can we please get started, I have errands to run; and I wouldn’t want to pull Ryuji and Eri-chan from their studies Aiko-san.” Y/N declared voice sickeningly sweet. Nodding along the principal spoke. “There seemed to be an incident invovling Eri-chan and Ryuji-kun yesterday on the playground. Typically Eri-chan is a very sweet tempered child, but it honestly floored the faculty when the words came out of her mouth.” The principal stated quite uncomfortable. Nodding her head Y/N made a forward motion with her hand. “Ryuji-kun in turn retaliated and that resulted in the two of them getting into a physical altercation.” Y/N sat trying to internalize the words the principal was telling her.
“I’d like to speak to my son and the little girl, before we discuss further action.” she stated unclenching Aizawa’s sleeve. “That won’t be necessary L/N-san we’ve already decided what ac-” interrupting her Aizawa spoke. “I would also like to speak to the children Aiko-san. No offense, but it’s not up to the faculty to dish-out the punishment regarding two children.” the principal nodded his head. “Aizawa-san makes a valid point Aiko-san.” Squaring her shoulders she sneered. “This is the first time I’ve heard of this sir, I was under the impression that we were the ones in charge of the children, not the other way around.” Standing toe to toe with the woman, Y/N crossed her arms. “And I was under the impression that university taught you, how to properly handles small children. Sadly, the education system must have failed you.” Turning, she made her way out of the office. “I’d like to speak to my son now.”
The hallway was silent, as the four adults made their way to the classroom. Aizawa’s thoughts were surrounded by the woman next to him. Something about her seemed familiar, but he couldn’t put his finger on it. He had to admit that she seemed like a tough nut to crack. She had to be if she’s been a single mom for the last six years. Next to him Y/N was trying to think of what that child could have possibly said to cause such a reaction out of her son. Ryuji knows better than to put his hands on another person, unless he was provoked; but even then he knew better than to put his hands on a girl. Watching his Auntie Miruko beat up Keigo taught him that much at least.
The foursome made it to the classroom and Aiko-san slide the door open with a huff. She was hoping to talk to Mr. Shinsou and Mr. Bakugo, but maybe they’d come by next week for open house. Surely, she’d get her chance to show them; that she would be a perfect fit for them and their daughter. Stepping into the classroom, the children looked up. Eri’s smile left her face immediately upon the site of her grandfather. She had hoped one of her papa’s had come, she knew if they did she wouldn’t get in any trouble. Ryuji on the other hand sunk lower in his seat...He had hoped uncle Dabi or even Uncle Natsuo would come. They wouldn’t give him the whoopin he was sure to get from mama for hitting a girl.
With a gesture of her hand Y/N spoke. “Come out here Ryuji L/N, we’d like to discuss what exactly happened yesterday.” with a sigh, he nodded picking himself up and slowly dragging his feet as he made his way out the room. One look from Aizawa told Eri he expected the same.
Standing next to each other the boy and the girl swayed on the balls of their feet. Neither one of them wanted to speak first, so Aizawa stepped forward crouching down to their level. “I’d like to know which one of you started it.” he stated eyeing the two children in front of them. Immediately both children started yelling and pointing at the other throwing around wild accusations. “I can tell you that it was definitely Ryuji-kun. He’s always been a problem c-”Y/N cut Aiko off with glare. “ I believe Aizawa-san was asking the children, not you Aiko-san.” she shivered slightly at the cold look in Y/N’s eyes.
The children’s voices rose as they continued to blame the other for the incident. With a huff, Y/N cleared her throat eyes narrowing slightly, arms crossed. At the sound of his mother’s throat clearing Ryuji’s body tensed. His hands clenched as he stopped the onslaught of words that were ready to come out. Eri, noticing his silence focused her eyes on the direction the sound came from. Meeting the cold eyes of the woman in front of her, the words on Eri’s lips vanished as she too tensed, hands folding together in front of her. Aizwa’s eyes widened slightly, mildly impressed. Very few people could force that kind of reaction out of Eri...Just who the hell was this woman?
“Now one at a time, I’d like to hear what was exchanged and why.” she declared, voice firm. Shuffling his feet Ryuji, looked up blue eyes filled with unshed tears. “I’m not going to fall for that Ryuji, I’m not uncle Shoto. Now tell me the truth.” she muttered eyes narrowing. “I guess...it was kind of my fault... I was...It was arts and crafts time, and I was making something. The other kids were talking about how they were making things to show their parents for open house next week.” he mumbled softly. Y/N crouched down titling his chin up. “Speak clearly, Ryuji, so I can hear you properly.” “ Someone asked me if I was going to make anything for my parents; when one of the kids said I didn’t have any parents.” he sniffed. Next to him, Eri took his hand. “ It’s my fault too ma’am... I was sitting at that table...and I didn’t say anything to stop it.” shaking her head Eri continued. “I was...jealous?” she questioned looking to her grandfather. Aizawa nodded to confirm that she had been using the right word. “I was jealous...Ryuji talks about his mom all the time, and how great she is and how cool she is.” she mumbled. “He talks about how she makes him lunches and bakes treats for him when he’s having a bad day.” Y/N’s heart squeezed as she listened to the little girl ramble on. Ryuji scoffed, squeezing Eri’s hand. “I mean yeah, I’ve got a mom; but you have two dads!” “Do you know how cool it would be if I had even one of those?” Eri snorted. “They aren’t that great, one of them only likes to cook spicey food and the other one tells really lame jokes.” Aizawa chuckled fondly.
“So you were jealous of the other person and you let your emotions get the better of you?” Y/N asked smiling fondly at the children in front of her. Both of them nodded eyes wide with unshed tears. “What did you two say to each other?” shaking his head Ryuji answered. “I feel really shitty about it now ma, but I told her that her mom didn’t love her and that’s why she’d never have a cool one like mine.” Y/N reached out pinching his arm. “Ow! I said I felt shitty about it okay?” he swore rubbing the soreness away. “I told him he’d never get a dad cause his mom was probably a loose lipped whore.” Eri stated refusing to look at her grandfather. Aizawa choked on his spit, as Y/N’s lips opened peals of laughter falling out. “Where the hell did you learn that from?” he demanded. “I heard Uncle D bring it up one time.” In that moment, Aizawa was sure he was going to murder his sons assistant, slowly and brutally.
“Now, who hit who first?” Y/N asked eye brow raised at her son. “Well, technically she hit me first, cause I called her a dumb bitch, and then we were tumbling on the ground.” Ryuji declared scratching the back of his neck. Heaving a sigh, Y/N shook her head. ‘I’ve really got to get on those idiots about his language.’ Aizawa looked between the two children eyes in comic disbelief. “ And what made you decide to hit him Eri” he asked heading coming as he knew her answer would closely resemble something Bakugo would say. “Tch, papa taught me that I don’t let anyone talk to me that way. I wasn’t gonna let some stupid extra do it.” she huffed. Clapping her hands Y/N stood. “ I think, that under the circumstance they can apologize and that will be that, what say you Aizawa-san?” Turning he nodded. “I think that would be fine as well.” Both children turned apologizing. “Now say something nice to each other.”
“I think you’ve got a really good punch Eri!” clapping her hands she smiled. “Thanks! My dad’s taught me, your punch is really good too, it packs a lot of power for someone so small.” Ryuji nodded a sense of pride. “My mom taught me, she’s the best fighter of the family.” Clapping his hands the principal ushered the children back into the classroom. The two of them already making plans to color and swap stories at play time. Y/N turned to Aiko and spoke, “Next time this happens I want a conference scheduled immediately, just because you yourself do not have children does not mean you fully understand the struggles they themselves go through.” Aiko opened her mouth to respond when Aizawa stepped forward, “It would do well to remember that I am a tenured professor in the UA district. If something like this isn’t treated properly again I’ll have your job.” he sneered; turning at following Y/N out. Smiling softly he asked. “Would you like to grab a cup of coffee?” he asked. Nodding she responded, “I would, actually I’d like to pick your brain a little bit Aizawa-san.” And the two carried down the hallway plans made. Shouta knew Y/N was going to change the lives of everyone around him and he couldn’t wait to see it come into effect.

Passing of the Torch
Passing of the Torch Fandom: My Hero Academia Pairing: TodoMomo Summary: TodoMomo Positivity Week Day 4 Prompt Fill: An evening is spent where the Todoroki and Yaoyorozu families finally have the chance to meet and get more familiar with one another. And Shoto gets the sinking feeling that his girlfriend’s father may not be his biggest fan. Standard Disclaimer: If you read and enjoy this, please give it a like/ reblog so I know if I should write more.
Shoto took a deep breath as they approached the upscale barbeque restaurant, feeling unusually nervous. He was normally a rather composed sort but this situation was not something he had ever been faced with before. After a year of dating, the time had finally come for him to finally meet Momo’s parents and, in turn, for his family to meet Momo proper. Natsuo and Fuyumi had had plenty of run-ins with his girlfriend before they were dating and even since, but this was going to be the first time they’d be having a meal together. It was also to be the first time his Mom and Father would be meeting her under the proper terms of being his girlfriend.
“Relax, Shoto,” Mom’s voice giggled softly in his ear, causing him to jump and glance at her. She giggled and reached out to gently smooth his bangs back out of his face. “If you don’t breathe a bit, they’ll be able to see how tense you are the moment we walk in.”
“Yeah, Sho!” Natuso agreed as he came up on his other side, grey eyes twinkling in mirth. “I mean, so long as you don’t spill tea all over them, I doubt you could make a worse first impression than Keigo did.”
“I heard you insulted Nezumi-San’s older sister the first time you met her family,” Fuyumi chirped behind them, leaning a bit closer to her own fiancee as she spoke. The blonde man flashed Natsuo a smug smirk, clearly unashamed to let Fuyumi fight his battle for him.
Natsuo puffed his cheeks out. “I’m starting to think that there’s a problem with you and my girlfriend getting along so well,”
“If you ever gather enough courage to ask for her hand,” Father chimed in flatly from his position beside Fuyumi, “shouldn’t that be a good thing?”
Natsu looked like he had some snarky retort ready but a quick snap from Mom silenced them both. “Mind your manners, boys. Tonight is very important to Shoto and I do not want either of you ruining this for him,” she said evenly, smiling as both men dipped their heads and let out grumbled agreements. Shoto himself let out a small, relieved breath and silently thanked whatever greater forces were at work for Mom.
Upon entering and offering their name, they were whisked away to the back of the restaurant. There was a spacious booth area in the back, where three figures were already settled in. Momo was easy to spot, with what could only be her parents settled in beside her. Her mother and she had many similarities, he noticed, in the curve of jaw, shape of cheeks and jet black hair. Her mother’s eyes, however, were a striking orange hue and more narrowed, the shape reminding him a bit of an almond. To her other side was a frail, pale man with dark purple hair. His eyes were a perfect match to Momo’s in both shape and hue, watching her as she shared some story with a softness that left him a little shaken. Her mother perked up and blinked. “Ah, Todorokis, I see you’ve made it in one piece,” she said, carefully moving out of her seat to greet them properly. “I am Yaoyorozu Miran, Momo’s mother, and this is my husband and her father, Umeo.”
Umeo squirmed his way out, his movements slow, but righted himself with his cane as they went through introductions. As he and Shoto shook hands, his grip tightened a surprising bit. When he stole a glance up at the older man, the look in his eyes was unreadable and his smile cryptic. For a moment, all of Shoto’s worst fears pushed to the forefront of his mind again, panicked that he’d already somehow gotten off on the wrong foot.He was snapped out of it as he was ushered into the booth, Mom insisting that he and Momo sit next to each other. He resolved himself to try and redeem himself for whatever transgression he’d committed against Yaoyorozu-Sama.
Which, as it turned out, was near impossible.
Yaoyorosu-San ended up taking the spot beside Momo, with Yaoyorozu-Sama taking the seat on her other side, placing him at the far end of the table. There wasn’t an extraordinary amount of space between them, but it was a bit difficult. He tried a handful of times to strike up conversation with him, only to have his words drowned out by some large proclamation by Keigo or a inquiry regarding business ventures from Yaoyorozu-San to Father. Momo took his hand under the table, giving a small reassuring smile when he turned to face her. He let himself relax and get swept up in a conversation about a recent mall trip she’d made with Jirou and Uraraka.
When he was paying attention again, their food was being delivered and he noticed Yaoyorozu-Sama staring him down, expression blank. A knot settled itself in the pit of his stomach.
As they ate, he tried a handful more times to speak with his girlfriend’s father between conversations with her, but the man seemed to be outright ignoring him. Instead, when he saw Shoto opening his mouth, he would direct his attention to a different Todoroki. He would ask Fuyumi about her work as a school teacher, or what he was to be his specialized area once he completed med school. He even prompted Father about a discussion regarding the changes to Pro Heroics in the time between their high school years and the modern era, which seemed to take over the rest of their meal time.
While they awaited the checks, Shoto excused himself to the restroom. He splashed a bit of water on his face, using his right side to chill it up and help refresh himself. He stared at his own reflection and tried to mull over what, exactly, he could have done to perturb the older man so terribly. Did he think that the fact they were only meeting after Shoto and Momo had been together a year was a bad sign? He’d heard that normally introduction happened a few months sooner than they had done, but it didn’t seem to be such a large issue to warrant being ignored. Or perhaps he was concerned based strictly on Shoto’s family name alone? The Todoroki family certainly didn’t have the most pristine reputation around. But his being a Todoroki didn’t seem to bother Yaoyorozu-San.
But it wasn’t Yaoyorozu-San that worried him. He knew from what Momo herself said that she was closer to her father than her mother. Yaoyorozu-Sama’s opinion, he reasoned, would therefore be the one that could make or break their relationship. He shook his head and headed out, telling himself that the likelihood of Momo breaking up with him just because her father did not completely approve was slim to none.
But that didn’t stop him from following after than man when he saw him stepping outside while everyone else tended to the check.
The other man was leaning against the wall beside the restaurant when Shoto stepped outside, his eyes closed. He steeled his nerves as he walked over. “Yaoyorozu-Sama,” he said.
The other perked up, blinking at him in clear surprise. “Ah, Shoto-Sama! I didn’t realize you had come outside as well,”
“I want to apologize,” Shoto said while quickly bowing, “if I have said or done anything to offend you this evening. It was not my intention and, if told how I stepped out of line, promise to never do so again.”
A small chuckle came from the older man. Shoto tilted his head to peek at him through his bangs. The other man was covering his mouth to try and muffle the laughs escaping him, a gesture he’d seen Momo imitate multiple times. “I’m sorry, Shoto-Sama,” he said, clearly his throat and letting his hand fall away. Any sense of mystery in his expression was completely dissipated, revealing only genuine amusement. “Please rise. You’ve done nothing to offend myself or Mikan.”
He blinked as he stood back up at his full height. “I do not understand. If I haven’t crossed a line, why did you seem to be ignoring and dodging me when I attempted to speak with you?”
Yaoyorozu-Sama smiled. “Because I wanted to observe how you interacted with my daughter as opposed to how you would address me,” he said simply.
Shoto blinked a few times before tilting his head at him. “I don’t understand,”
“If you’ll be kind enough to humor an old man, Shoto-Sama,” he hummed, his gaze shifting to the stars above, “allow me to explain. If there is something I observed frequently in my youth, it was the idea of presenting oneself in a specific light for a specific audience. When speaking from the lens of Pro Heroics, it makes sense. One must be attractive to the public to have any level of true success. But… When it comes to courtship and romance, I saw this frequently as well. I saw peers pretend to be someone they were not in front of their partner’s families, just in hopes of impressing them. I decided, then, that I wanted my opinion to be based on who my Momochi’s partner was when they were with her. Because… That is what is truly important, especially if you intend to be with her for the foreseeable future. The person you are towards my daughter will forever be more important than who you try to be to me.”
“The foreseeable future?”
“You two are young. There could come a day where one of you wakes up and realizes that the love is gone between you,” he said patiently. He let his gaze turn away from the stars to Shoto, still smiling but his eyes bright with conviction. “I am asking you, as her father, that if that day comes you be a real man about it and walk away as gently as you can. To be honest and upfront, to not play games. And if it is she who decides to end it, let her go with grace and dignity, in a way deserving of the kind of love you claim to hold for her.”
The request caught him off guard. The idea of someday being with someone else? FInding a partner other than Momo? He took a deep breath as he tried to sort out the thoughts in his head to something cohesive. “I do not see such a day ever occurring. The only partner I can ever see by my side is Momo. A future we are not facing together, as a team, is impossible for me to envision. However… I promise to fulfill this request, if such a day should ever come to pass,” he said, squaring his shoulders and holding the other’s eye the whole time he spoke.
Grey eyes gleamed before he chuckled, closing his eyes as he nodded. “Thank you for your honestly and promise, Shoto-Sama,”
He nodded. “Though, in the spirit of honesty, if I may say one thing, Yaoyorozu-Sama?”
“Of course,”
“I feel as if there were better ways to accomplish your goal without spending most of the evening ignoring me, thus leading me to believe I had somehow started out with making a bad impression with you,”
That got a hearty laugh out of the other man. “My, you don’t hold you back, do you? How charming to see that level of honesty from a man so young!” His laughter only lasted a bit before he started coughing, pulling a handkerchief from his coat pocket and coughing into it. “Forgive me. I’m afraid I fall into coughing fits much easier than I did in my younger years.”
He opened his mouth to tell him there was no need to apologize when Momo appeared beside them with a worried frown. “Father, are you okay? Are you pushing yourself too hard again?”
Yaoyorozu-Sama flashed her a bright smile and shook his head. “Not at all, Momochi. Shoto-Sama just said something incredibly clever,”
She visibly relaxed. “I am glad that the two of you are getting along, though I would appreciate you stay close to Mother or I if you need help,”
“Of course, darling,” he hummed, taking one of her hands in his own. He stroked the top of her hand gently before offering it to Shoto. “Now, why don’t you two go on ahead while this old timer catches up with the grown ups again?”
There was no hesitation as Shoto took Momo’s hand in his own, offering a small smile to her father. “Thank you for your time, Yaoyorozu-Sama,” The older man smiled and tipped his head before moving past. Without needing to say it, Shoto knew what this gesture had meant.
He squeezed Momo’s hand gently at the inquisitive look she flashed him, choosing to leave it at that for now.

A Winter’s Flight

Chapter 7: Discussions
Back at the Todoroki residence, Shoto is now living at the school dorms but Natsuo is in the living room cleaning up a bit when a Enji appears in a blue flash, startling him. Then Fuyumi and Keigo appear, followed finally by yourself. Natsuo just looks in shock as he sees everyone is being controlled by you.
N: “Um…(Y/N), what is going on?”
You begin to loosen your control on everyone as you sit down. “Why don’t they tell you? You are to speak one at a time. I’m not afraid to stop you again if I have to.”
Everyone is too frightened to speak, just standing still in the room. Eventually, Keigo gains some confidence and is the first to speak.
K: “Fuyumi, why didn’t you tell me your father is Endeavor?”
E: “You didn’t know?” Sounding confused.
K: “I only found out today at the dinner by accident. The waiter said her last name and it finally clicked.”
F: “I didn’t tell you because I was afraid of how you might react. I think you would be fine but I was so worried about how my father would react I kept it a secret from you.  I guess I was right. I’m sorry if I deceived you, Keigo.” She finishes her sentence by holding her left arm.
K: “That’s ok. Everything you told me about your family makes a lot more sense now.”
E: “This explains how you have been getting home so fast. But I have a right now know who you are dating!”
(Y/N): “Enji…” You say squinting.
N: “You better calm down dad, he is serious.”
E: “Fine.”
F: “Dad, why can’t you trust me?”
E: “What? Of course I trust you; I don’t trust him!”
F: “You know you are acting exactly how I thought you would, being overprotective and unreasonable.”
E: “Wait, what? Am I that predictable?”
N: “Yeah…”
F: “Yes you are, I knew you wouldn’t like me dating Keigo.”
E: “Am I…. I didn’t… I…
(Y/N): “Go ahead, Enji. Say it.”
E: With a long sigh “I’m sorry. I never wanted to make you feel like you have to keep a secret from me. I just want the best for you. But why him?” Looking at Keigo.
F: “He is the one that recused me from the car accident.
E: “What? He was the hero that saved you? You said you got out yourself.”
N: “We both agreed to lie, we knew you wouldn’t like to hear anything about Hawks after his speech. You were ranting about him for the whole week.”
E: “I did do that…. But when did you start dating?”
F: “We meet about a month later and I wanted to thank him by buying him lunch. We just hit it off, I guess. I know he can be a little conceited but he makes me feel special, he cares about me. Isn’t that enough?”
Enji just stares blankly for a moment before he can speak again. “And I guess you didn’t tell me he saved you for the same reason you didn’t tell me you were dating…. I can’t believe I made you feel like you had to do that. God, I feel like a horrible father.
K: “No you are not. Fuyumi has told me all of the things you do now. How you have changed so much. Your heart is in the right place but you can be a little much from what I was told.”
E: “You speak that highly of me?”
F: “Yes, sometimes you are a bit much but I love you. You still make mistakes but you are human and so much better now. But you need to remember that I am my own person.”
Enji is just standing in the middle of the room while everyone is silent. He lowers his head so no one will notice his face starting to turn red as he begins to speak in a low voice. “I…. It’s just…. Y-you look so much like your mother…. I-I can’t lose you too….” He is stumbling over his words as he tries to contain his emotions.
(Y/N): “Enji… I didn’t even think about that. I’m sorry.” You hug him tightly as he slowly wraps his arms around you, slumping down in your grip and tightly closing his eyes, trying to hold it together. “I knew the car accident was affecting you but I didn’t know it was this bad.” As he is standing there in your embrace, he starts shaking just a little, only enough for you to notice.
E: Under his breath, eyes still shut tight: “Damn it….”
(Y/N): “It’s ok. I’m here.”
E: “Why am I like this?”
(Y/N): “You are afraid for your daughter, it’s normal to act like that.”
E: “But I have been acting like him again.”
(Y/N): “Enji….” You sigh.
K: “Him? Him who?”
Looking over your shoulder “His old self. The person he hates more than anything.” You turn back to Enji and whisper “Please, don’t go there again. You are better than that. You are not him.”
Enji responds by tightening his grip slightly. The tremors begin to spread to his legs as he talks to you through gritted teeth. “I don’t want to be seen like this…. not in front of my kids or him.”
“Don’t worry, no one cares about that right now. Just pretend I’m the only one in the room. Ok?” You say while moving a hand to the back of his head. “I know you’re hurting.” You whisper.
The hero begins to let his guard down and tears start to form in his eyes. He is crying softly in your arms as you rub his back to comfort him. Even though his sobs are silent, his words are still interrupted by his shaking breath. “I-I was so worried…. when I received the call…. I never really stopped…. I’m so sorry…. I already lost two… I can’t handle losing anyone else.”
F: “I didn’t know this is how you felt.” Hugging the both of you “Dad, nothing or no one is ever going to take me away from you. I promise.”
N: Reluctantly following Fuyumi “If she was in danger, I would have told you.”
E: “I don’t know how to apologize more…”
(Y/N): “We understand, emotions are hard for you.”
K: “Who would have thought, the number 2 hero has a soft side.”
(Y/N): “It is why I married him.”
The four of you release the hug and Enji regains his composure. “Keigo. I never got to thank you properly for saving my daughter.” Putting a hand out “Thank you for saving and protecting her. I don’t know what I would do if she…”
K: Shaking Enji’s hand “No need to say anything else. I will always protect those in need.”
F: “Does that mean you approve of us dating?”
E: “No.”
N: “Well that’s not a surprise.”
(Y/N): “Enji, explain yourself.”
E: “Fuyumi can date who ever she likes but I don’t have to approve of it. I am open to changing my opinion once I get to know Keigo better. Got it?” Looking at Keigo with a stern glare.
K: “I will not disappoint you or Fuyumi.”
(Y/N): “That’s probably as good as your going to get out of your father right now. Now that you’re here, Keigo. Did you want to have some tea? I still wanted to apologize for controlling you earlier.”
K: “Eh… You had to do it. It did feel strange at the time.”
Z: Appearing behind you “It always is at first. (Y/N), can I have some earl grey?”
K: “Make that 2, that sounds good right now.”
“Sure thing.” You come back from the kitchen to find everyone talking causally, well everyone except Enji. He is just sitting in his chair tending to his wounds. You come over to him and help him wrap his hand and just whisper “Please give him a chance. For her.” He only responds by squeezing your hand a little. The rest of the evening was more relaxed and Enji did eventually open up but everyone can tell he is uncomfortable. When Keigo leaves, Fuyumi thanks her father for giving Keigo a chance. He just hugs her without a word.

BNHA Chapter 302 Spoiler Thoughts: Y’all Need Therapy
Part 2 of the story that started last chapter and THINGS GOT WORSE!!!  I’m crying through the pain.  There’s a lot going on in this one.  Lots of guilt, lots of abuse, lots of crying, but thankfully some gleam of hope at the end.  A broken family can heal.  This is a step in the right direction.  Though, I’m already seeing the BNHA fandom going up in flames because everyone’s playing the blame game.  I hope I don’t end up accidentally stepping on that landmine after posting this.  Here we go (thoughts are based off summary translations by @redandblonde420 on Twitter and panel images are from @BKIS2327 on Twitter!):
(OP Note: Please don’t DM me with your complaints about my opinions on the Todoroki Family matter.  It’s bad enough that this storyline has people getting pissed off at each other for taking different sides.  The last thing the BNHA fandom needs is more conflict amongst ourselves.)
Chapter 302 picks up where we last left off.  Enji and Rei managed to stop Touya from attacking Shoto (it’s not explained how) and the whole family except from them are asleep.  Enji tells Rei that he doesn’t want any of the kids anywhere near Shoto anymore in fear that they would try to harm him.  Enji also fired a servant because he was so busy at work and he asks Rei to not let Touya out of her sight.  The other reason why Enji won’t watch over Touya himself is because Enji’s presence would only be a constant reminder of the hero world to Touya.  While Enji thinks he’s protecting Touya, Rei says he’s just running away.  A few things here:
1. I get not wanting Touya anywhere near baby Shoto since he did try to kill the tyke.  Touya was pretty much bent on his hatred for his little brother at that point that even seeing him stroked his dangerous jealousy.  But, I don’t know about Fuyumi and Natsuo.  Neither of them showed any hatred towards Shoto (and still haven’t as far as we know).  They’ve shown no signs of violence or anything that would imply wanting to hurt Shoto.  So, why keep them away too?
2. This is probably going to be the start of me getting shit on by the fandom, but I think Enji and Rei are both right.  We saw in the last chapter that Enji did legitimately care for Touya to the point where he tried to convince him to leave his ambitions of being a hero primarily so that he would stop hurting himself.  Just Endeavor being there is a reminder of the hero world.  Which would only provoke Touya more.  And Endeavor can’t just leave his job; he was the #2 after all.  At the same time, Enji is running away from the problem by not trying to talk to Touya more and helping him to control his flames at least.  He was trying to save Touya from himself, but he was also ignoring the real problem.
3. Side note (and because I just 💙 Shoto), the manga panels show baby Shoto sleeping on his little bed with a frosty snot bubble coming out of his nose 🥺!  Not only is it adorable, but it seems like Shoto had his quirk since he was very young.
Time skip 5 years later!  This is back when Shoto was being dragged along by Enji while watching his siblings play ball WAY back in Shoto’s Origin chapter what a throwback, Horikoshi (Season 2 Ep. 10 in the anime; I think Chapter 39 in the manga)!  Fuyumi is 12 yrs old, Natsuo is 8 yrs old, and Touya is 13 yrs old.  So, that confirms that Touya is 1 year older than Fuyumi, Natsuo is 4 years younger than Fuyumi, and Shoto is 3 years younger than Natsuo since Shoto was 5 then.  God, they looked so cute back then!  I’m honestly amazed how freaking TALL Natsuo is at 8 YEARS OLD!  He’s taller than Fuyumi here and probably Touya.  Someone put this kid in the Haikyuu!! universe and teach him volleyball!  He’d be great, I know it!
We see a few panels of what is basically a remastered version of what we saw during Shoto’s Origin story.  Shoto really wanted to play ball with his siblings, but Enji wouldn’t let him 😭.  I know Natsuo and Shoto try to play ball in present day in the 5th(?) light novel.  Natsuo plays it properly, but Shoto accidentally smacks the shit out of it 🤣.  It’s a very bittersweet scene and I suggest you guys read the translations of it if you can find it.  *AHEM* Anyway while Shoto is looking at them with sadness, Touya is looking back at Shoto with malice in his eyes.  Touya clearly still hated Shoto...
Next, we see Touya trying to talk to Natsuo in bed.  While he admits that he was wrong for trying to attack Shoto, he thinks Enji is to blame as well.  Ok, Enji lit Touya’s figurative flame, but Enji did not attack Shoto.  That was all Touya’s doing.  Had he listened to his father and not been so driven to jealousy, he wouldn’t have attacked.  Enji did a lot of things, but he did not provoke that attack.
Natsuo was too tired to listen to Touya talk, so he suggested that he talk to Fuyumi instead.  Touya thought that Natsuo was the only one who could understand and he didn’t talk to Fuyumi because “all the women in the family were no good”.  OKAY, I don’t know if this is straight up sexism  or something else, but goddamn Touya.  That is-, that’s not okay.  At all.  Respect women pls, my dude.  Hell, Fuyumi and Rei probably would’ve been a good people to talk to back then.
One day, Touya is trying to leave the house probably to go train again.  Rei tries to convince him to play with his friends instead, but of course Touya refuses.  Because Rei feels shackled to her marriage, she wants Touya to look at a world outside of heroism so he can be someone he really wants to be.  This is basically what Enji told Touya before and Rei’s echoing his words.  And they are right, but Touya’s too driven to really think of anything else.
Touya gets mad and starts insulting Rei.  He says because his mother sold Rei to Enji, she’s conspiring to all of this.  Touya’s losing his mind and Rei’s scared of him.  I want to point out that one translation I read say that Rei’s mother’s side of the family was actually poor so Rei was actually bought via money like I remembered.  But, that doesn’t mean she intended to hurt Touya.
Next panel reveals that Touya was born between Jan. 1st and April. 1st.  We know Dabi’s B-Day is on Jan. 18th based off his profile page.  Though, this could be a lie for all we know.  The guy’s still a big mystery.  Anyway, Touya’s fire is growing stronger and finally turns into that iconic blue fire.  When his emotions are heightened his flames get more powerful, but he starts crying too.  Enji learns of Touya’s secret training and gets mad at him again.  Touya just wants to prove that Enji was right for creating him.  Touya’s gone completely insane at this point.  The fire that Enji lit could not be put out.  It was too late at this point.
And the abuse... JFC...  Enji was mad at Rei for letting Touya train and he abuses her (looks like he hit her).  Little 5 yr old Shoto steps up and tries to stop his father from hurting his mother.  Fuyumi and Natsuo are hiding and crying, and Fuyumi is covering both their ears.  Rei reflects that she chose to be married to Enji and she truly thought she could have a family full of laughter.  Th-this just hurts.  No emoji can express how awful this situation is.  Enji looks like a monster in these panels (we still don’t know exactly when the abuse started, but I think it was either after Touya tried to kill Shoto or here when Rei failed to stop Touya from training).  Shoto’s crying and yelling at Enji to protect his mom.  His siblings too if you think about it.  Even back then, Shoto was a hero even when he really shouldn’t had been.
The present goes back and forth with the past here.  Touya waited for Enji to come see him train, but he never came.  Rei also ignored Touya even though she knew of his problems.  Touya was truly alone on that mountain.  And here’s where Rei’s blame comes in.  She was a good mother, I think.  But she did ignore Touya when he needed her most.  She kind of ran away too.
Back to Dabi, he reminisces of how he faked his own “death” back on that mountain after Enji didn’t show up.  He didn’t know how to stop the fire because Enji only taught him to increase the fire.  Touya started a whole wildfire.  The whole place turned to ash.  Enji tried looking for his son, but was devastated when he couldn’t.  Gotta say, these panels are brutal.  Like, Tenko Shimura’s Origin chapters were dark, but this is a different kind of dark.
Back to the present.  Enji says that after Touya “died” he didn’t know what to do other than to focus on Shoto (the panel shows a dark figure of Enji looming over a sad Shoto similar to that image of Overhaul looming over Eri because she wasn’t saved yet).  Rei got more disgusted just seeing Enji and she started seeing his shadow when she saw her kids, specifically Shoto and Natsuo (maybe because Natsuo is more built like Enji?).  Fuyumi and Natsuo blame themselves for not doing anything and thinking things were okay even though they knew what was going on.  Natsuo still blames Enji of course because Enji started this all.  And I can’t say that Natsuo’s wrong, but Enji doesn’t shoulder the whole blame.  And yeah, Fuyumi and Natsuo were still just kids when this happened, but a little extra push from them could’ve helped.  It’s just the “It’s my fault” game with the Todoroki’s except for Shoto.
Natsuo’s taking a big hit here.  He was closest to Touya and if Natsuo took more action to help Touya, Dabi probably wouldn’t have been born.  Touya could’ve even treated Shoto to some soba 😭.  That’s a nice thought, Natsu, but we all know what did happen in the end.
So, Rei concludes that everyone is shouldering some blame towards their family’s problems and that it isn’t completely Enji’s fault (this I agree with).  Even so, Rei says that his family would still help him get back up even if he fell.  Coming from Rei, the woman who was abused and put in a mental hospital, this is saying A LOT!  We saw some of this back in the Pro Heroes arc (Endeavor Vs. High End), but here it’s said out loud.  Even a family as broken as the Todorokis can still heal.
Rei then calls Shoto the family hero as if it weren’t for him going to UA, making friends, and taking action to repair his family, then none of this would’ve happened.  There’s a page that shows present day injured Shoto at the center and that iconic “IT’S YOUR QUIRK, NOT HIS” scene from the Sports Fest. in the background.  TDDK or not, this is such a damn good throwback!  I love everything about it.  Again, Shoto’s the family hero, but Izuku’s the true hero in all this.  If he didn’t meddle with Shoto’s family problems, then Shoto and his family would still be a broken mess. Izuku might as well be an honorary Todoroki at this point 💙💚
Endeavor is still crying hard (the man’s literally shook) and Shoto finally speaks (his speech bubbles are shakey, so his voice might be raspier than usual).  Shoto talked with Rei about how he plans to face Dabi on his own.  Rei said “no”.  Shoto concludes that everyone’s going to help stop Dabi, including Enji.  The panel shows Shoto LITERALLY REACHING OUT to Enji!!!  His face shows that he’s still kind of reluctant, but this is a sign that Shoto’s is close to forgiveness.  He’s not there yet and he can turn back whenever he wants.  But, this is Shoto’s choice and I’m so freaking proud of him.  I love this ❄️🔥 boy so much, guys 💙😭!
The final panel shows Haws and Best Jeanist outside of Enji’s hospital room and they heard pretty much everything.  Very similar to how Bakugo accidentally eavesdropped on Shoto and Izuku back in the Sports Fest haha!  Neither of them look mad or sad, but more contempt I think.  Massive problems in the Todoroki family that’s lasted over 20 years is finally being fixed.  Shoto rebuilding his relationship with his family was good, but THIS is a big step since it’s not just Shoto taking action.  It’s the whole family.
Wooo... I think that’s it.  Again, the Todoroki Family storyline is one of my favorites in the BNHA series.  Probably the most controversial and dividing, but still damn good.  I feel bad for everyone in this family.  Everyone but Shoto feels some kind of blame and ultimately they are at fault here to some degree.  The biggest ones are obviously Enji and Touya himself.  Rei’s also a big reason why things went wrong (she really could’ve helped Touya more), but not NEARLY as much as the big two.  Shoto’s the only one who isn’t at fault at all yet he’s still willing to step up to the plate to help his family.  Again, I love this kid so damn much 💙!  I’m sorry if I missed any details btw.  I might make edits to fix them when the official release comes out on Sunday.

Hi, I saw your art for the AU where Touya weakness is a medical conditon and I wanted to know if there is a story based on it or a one shot ?
PS: I love your art, is amazing
Hi!! Sorry that I’m so late to respond, I never check my inbox so I was surprised to find so many kind messages there!!!!
The concept for Touya with a quirk-based medical condition is my own idea, so while there is no fanfiction it was based off of, I do have a work in progress for the story! It’s nowhere near finished but here’s an excerpt just for you 😘
(read under cut)
(Important side note- in this au, Endeavor and Rei are good parents who do everything possible to help Touya’s condition. They do inadvertently give less attention to the other kids, but it’s in no way malicious since he has different and more urgent needs)
Touya had always been a small kid.
It was his small stature perhaps, that gave him that spark in his eye. That determined gaze, setting his jaw and taking the world on every step of the way. If he had to fight to be heard, to be seen, then so be it. He refused to be forgotten, lost to a cloud of strangers who were taller, stronger, better.
Natsuo knew this more than anyone.
He had always admired his big brother, always looked at him through the eager eyes of a child. Touya radiated warmth- he was gentle and kind and smiled in the face of pain, if only to comfort his younger siblings- and Natsuo loved him more than anything else in the world.
Touya had always been different. He was always a little unbalanced, always heasitant to rush into things. Always looking out for himself, everywhere he went, lest he take one wrong step and land right back in the emergency room.
For as long as Natsuo could remember, Touya had been sick, but he never let that stop him.
-
He recieved the diagnosis two weeks before his sixth birthday.
It was a cloudy winter day, wind whistling around the walls of the Todoroki estate and cold air seeping through the cracks of thin wooden doors.
This couldn’t have mattered less to six-year-old Touya, however, as he played with his father in the training room. Well, not exactly playing. His dad referred to it as training, but Touya loved it anyways. Hurling brilliant bursts of fire at his father and dodging blasts in return was thrilling. He loved the crackling whoosh of the flames, and their dancing warmth on his skin. He loved running around, laughing, spending time with his dad.
Nothing, it seemed, could ruin this moment of joy as he barely managed to dodge a fireball and it tickled his ear. He emitted a small giggle as he rolled onto the floor. He looked back up at his opponent, towering above his tiny form, and grinned mischeviously. He feigned taking a moment to catch his breath, using it to focus all his power into his hands and create one small, brilliant ball of  sparkling blue flame. As Touya stepped up off the floor, the flame flickered violently, roaring like a caged lion- yearning to be set free. He posed properly, as he had been taught, and reeled his arms to his side.
With a shout of victory he thrust his arms forward, and a wall of flame engulfed the room. It was blinding. The bright light engulfed everything, the walls, the floor, the ceiling. Everything was white, and suddenly Touya felt a wave of exhaustion wash over him. His body went limp, and the last thing he saw as the white faded to black were his father’s eyes, contorted with worry.
-
He woke up in the hospital. He only recognized the scene from movies, white-washed walls, a large window obscured by sheer curtains and a steady beep…beep…beeping sound coming from somewhere behind him. He lay in a small bed, just as white as the rest of the room. A tube stuck out of his hand that hurt a bit whenever he wiggled his fingers, and it seemed to have some sort of liquid running through it. On his other hand was some sort of weird clip, and right below his nose was another tube that itched his nostrils. He looked around the room again, hoping someone was there that he could talk to. Nope. He did his best to sit up without moving any of the wires, and just as he crossed his legs the door peeked open.
“Touya!” His mom stepped in the room, and nearly ran to pull him into a gentle hug, her cold hands making his skin prickle.
“Hi, sweetie…how do you feel?”
“…I’m hungry.”
“That’s okay, the nurse should be in soon with a meal.”
“What time is it?”
“It’s past your bedtime.” His mom laughed softly. “It’s almost eleven o’ clock.”
Touya looked up at her with wide eyes. He had never stayed up this late before. It felt like he was a grown-up or something. He glanced at the tube in his hand. Maybe he didn’t want to be a grown up. It seemed scary.
“Am I going to die?”
His mom looked at him, eyes bright and wide.
“Oh, no, sweetheart, you aren’t going to die.”
She reached over and took his hand. “Everything’s going to be okay.”
“Then why am I here? Isn’t this where people die? What is this for?” He fired off all his questions at once, embellishing the final one with a tug on the tube that sat awkwardly on his face. His mom gently guided his hand away from it.
“You passed out when you were training with your father. We brought you here just to be safe. The doctors have to run a couple tests, but you’ll probably be allowed to leave first thing tomorrow morning.”
“Where’s dad and Fuyumi and everyone?”
“Your father had to go home to tuck them in. We switched places to look after Natsuo, because babies can get cranky in hospitals.” She brushed the hair out of his face, fingers heasitating for a second as they raked through the fresh streak of white in his dark red hair.
Touya closed his eyes as his mother leaned in and softly pressed her lips to his forehead. The motion was calming, and he relaxed as another bout of exhaustion called to him, lulling him to sleep once again.
-
A week later, the only evidence Touya had of having been in the hospital was an All-Might band-aid on his right hand, where the weird tube had poked his skin. He stared out the window of the moving car, counting mailboxes and trees as they flew past. His mom and dad said they needed to talk to the doctor again, because Touya had a test. He didn’t remember taking a test, but he hoped he didn’t fail it, anyways. His little siblings got to stay at home with a babysitter to watch a movie. He was jealous of them.
Once they got to the doctors office, a nurse led them through identical hallways until they got to a small room. Inside was a countertop, and a big chair, and some normal chairs. Touya got to sit in the big chair. His feet were so high off the ground! His mom sat in a small chair next to him, and his father stood. The nurse left them there alone for a few minutes.
Touya swung his feet lazily as he waited for something to happen. He watched the clock. He hummed a song.
Eventually the door opened, and a short, round man with similarly round glasses stepped in. He shook hands with Touya’s dad, then his mom, then Touya. He said he was the doctor and they were going to figure out what was wrong with him. Touya didn’t know there was anything wrong with him. He looked to his mom for reassurance, and she smiled and took his hand.
The doctor settled down in the second chair. He reached into a pocket on his white coat and pulled out an envelope. He said a few words before slitting it open, and retrieving a single piece of paper. He said some big words that Touya didn’t umderstand. He talked for a few minutes, but Touya was bored so he ignored him. He looked around the room- the bright lights on the ceiling; his father taking up the whole corner; his worn sneakers with stomp-lights that didn’t work anymore. His mom squeezed his hand, and he turned to look at her.
Was mommy…crying?
She reached up with her free hand to wipe her face and smiled at him again, but this time her smile was different. It was a sad smile, like the ones she used whenever Touya scraped his knee or ran to her crying after he fell off his bike. Touya stared back at her. He didn’t know how to feel. He didn’t understand what was going on. His mom turned again and asked the doctor a question. He answered patiently. Then another one. He answered that one too. And on it went, until the doctor finally stood up, shook his parents’ hands once more, and left without a word.
The room was silent for a moment, then Touya’s dad reached down and picked him up off his chair, holding him to his chest with one arm. With the other, he grasped his mom’s shoulder. She had her face covered with her hands, but in a few seconds she sniffled softly and took the hand on her shoulder, allowing herself to trail behind them as they headed back out to the car.
-
“I’m afraid your son has a rare quirk disease.” The doctor looked up from the creased paper containing the damning lab results.
Rei’s heart dropped. She turned to look at her husband. He was stoic, standing frozen in the corner, face shadowed by the ceiling light. She let her eyes rest on her child, seated closer to her, fidgeting with the zipper on his sweatshirt. Touya, her eldest child. Her baby. She took a deep breath and turned back to the doctor, who continued.
“It is known as Degenerative Quirk Disease.” He paused. “The cause of the disease is unknown, but the essence of it is that the quirk preys on the life force of the user. The more he uses his quirk the faster his body will deteriorate, and unfortunately once the damage is done there is no known way to reverse it. As per the name of the disease, it is degenerative and will get worse over time. Unfortunately this does mean that your son will have a shorter lifespan. All known cases have eventually proven to be fatal.”
The room was silent for a moment. Rei’s vision blurred with tears. She squeezed Touya’s hand and he looked down at her, wide-eyed and innocent.
“Mommy?”
Rei smiled softly at him as tears broke her waterline. She haistily swiped them away. She couldn’t bring herself to reassure him. What a terrible mother she was.
She turned away, looking back at the doctor.
“Is there anything we can do?”
He nodded slowly.
“While there is no known cure, there is treatment available. In fact, just recently a villain-strength quirk suppresant was approved for medical use. The only way to slow the disease is to prevent the usage of his quirk as much as possible. This is the best option available, as even among those who thoroughly abstain from using their quirks, there are still accidents and passive attributes to most quirks that would expedite the disease, such as fire-resistance.” He nodded at the man in the corner. His face, normally highlighted with dancing flames, was dark and unreadable.
Rei prompted him further, eager to learn how to save her child.
“What does treatment entail?”
“The most promising option available is a weekly IV treatment supplemented with oral medication.  Both help to suppress quirk usage as much as possible to delay progression of the disease. With regular use his lifespan could be expanded by up to five years, compared to manually abstaining. Now I know this doesn’t sound like the most effective treatment, but given the life expectancy without treatment, five more years of life is the best gift you could give him right now.”

That’s all I have for now! If I ever decide to finish it I’ll upload it to my Ao3, and if you like my writing you can find more of it there as well :)
Again, thank you so much for the support! I’m so glad you like my art so I’ll be sure to keep on creating!

some feelings abt touya and bnha 302 in general! (long post)
jesus this whooooole chapter makes me so so so sad for touya, like he's canonically a crier and i just have all these images now of him crying off to the side while enji looks at his other kids and gives them the time of day. knowing that he was/is a frustrated crier makes the fact that dabi cant cry cuz of his burned tear ducts that much sadder ohhman
one of the things i cant get over is how touya was SO shunned by his dad that when he went to go tell enji about his fire turning from red to blue, he says "i might be as awesome as shouto sooner or later!" like?? this boy is 13 and shouto is 5 yet he's talking like the brother that's eight years younger than him is better than him and thar it's just a fact. the sky is blue, enji wants to beat all might one day, and shouto is better than the rest of his siblings. nevermind that he's only five and just wants to play with his siblings (and dont even mention to me how shouto says he wants to play with "touya and them" cuz im gonna fucking cry abt it. like even though touya's accepted he's bottom of the ladder in this family, shouto clearly wants some sort of acknowledgement from his older siblings and especially his older brother. IM FVCKN SOBBN). enji has made it clear in this family that shouto was what he was looking for and everyone else is not as important, and i knew this from shouto's pov but it's kinda wild to see it implied so casually in touya's words.
"you'll be glad you created me! i just know it!" HOLY SHIT. god my heart. oh my fuck. literally all enji had to do was show up to the fucking mountain, and he couldnt even do that? what the hell?? your son asks you to go to the mountain, you tell your wife not to let him go traim but she said she couldnt stop him, and instead of going yourself to make sure he's okay and BECAUSE HE ASKED YOU TO COME (and with an actually valid reason, no less! fire changing colour is kind of a big fucking deal!!!) you just?? let him go and let him stay there??? my god the amount of times touya must have burned himself and the trees with tears in his eyes. ahhhHHH!!!
what kills me (and touya too soon?) was that we thought before the back story started that enji forced touya to train till he burned up. then when 290 came out--and definitely after 301--we thought maybe touya overtrained himself and burned up. and sure, he was definitely overtraining, but to find out that the burns that "killed" him started just bc he was crying so much he lost control and didnt know how to ease up on his flames? he was upset and literally trying to get himself to stop crying, and then he just set himself aflame and burned up cuz of all his emotions??? that HURTS. holy fuck.
i cant believe natsuo's feeling lowkey guilty for not socking enji in the face like he wasnt EIGHT???? and let's be real, enji woukdnt have fucking listened to natsuo telling him to talk to touya--he already wasnt listening when touya would straight up say "look at me" and when even rei said touya just wanted enji to look at him and notice him. listen, i know sometimes miscommunications happen in families and children are embarrassed to admit they want attention and so their parents remain unaware that theyre not giving their kid something they want, but touya was as clear as can be on MANY occasions, and even rei agreed touya needed the attention and enji just wasnt listening.
also i know there was discourse abt touya being sexist by telling natsu that "the women in this house are good for nothing" and mb it was partly diff translations cuz i feel like saying "this house" makes it specific to rei and yumi instead of all women everywhere, but even disregarding that--i think it's a valid thought for him to have when rei wasnt standing up for him (where he could see, at least) and yumi admitted herself that she was too scared to interfere and so just tried to fix things and keep appearances. i feel like based on what touya's seen from them, it makes sense that he has that opinion. (also gonna mention that i think rei's and yumi's choices also make sense and i think they were valid, seeing as how they were afraid as well.)
and poor natsu being woken up in the middle of the night (what was implied to be often enough, esp cuz it seemed they share a room and their futons are close) bc of touya's pain. that's a lot of emotional responsibility for an eight year old, and it is also so sad that at 13, touya didnt have anyone else to turn to but his kid brother. at 13, i remember being fully aware of the distinction in maturity between an 8 year old and myself, and it sucks that touya couldnt go to anyone but a younger child with all his pain. i bet yumi being too scared to interfere translated to touya as "she wouldnt help me" and thats another reason he didnt go to the 2nd oldest when he needed to vent. (also not related to this but how the FUCK was natsuo so tall at 8 years old? wh a t)
this chapter. this fucking chapter. my heart aches for touya, and it's just such a huge fucking shame he didnt get the attention and validation and support he needed. there must have been workarounds so that touya could safely use his quirk. there weere DEFINITELY better ways to support your son through a self-destructive quirk, ways that involved actually being there and seeing him. i feel like if someone showed him the attention he needed and talked him through how to better control his emotions (and by extension, his flames) and a positive and healthy way, he could have been someone so great. and if he ever learned how to set aside the way he felt infefior to shouto and saw that shouto just wanted to play with his cool older siblings, it might have been really beneficial to see that there was someone there who thinks he's cool and gave him attention just bc he was an older brother, who needed him when everyone else in the househild didnt seem to need him.
and lastly, the fact that the chapter ends with rei saying that shouto is the family hero and that shouto will have to face dabi?? and it makes me angry that shouto has to take on that responsibility. that he was five and suffering for things he wasnt even a part of, couldnt be properly aware of, bc he was so young. he just saw that he was separated from his siblings and that his dad bullied his mom, then grew up shouldering enji's heavy goals and high expectations and abusive training alongside the barely-there memories of his older brother who died (i say barely there bc if natsu didnt even know shouto liked cold soba, shouto was definitely not around enough to have solid memories of touya before he "died"), and now he has to do the emotional labour of fighting his villain brother (who i bet shouto lowkey empathizes with when he thinks abt it late at night) as well as suffer the physical consequences of that agni kai. and it makes me angry that he has to do that, bc he's a Good Guy and he probably feels he has some sort of filial and familial responsibility. he's only 16. he just wanted to play with touya and them, and now he has to deal with this horse shit dabi's causing cuz his dad's an emotionally neglecting asshat who couldnt see past his dumb fucking ego until he saw shouto play with a bunch of kids during shou's remedial exam a decade after his eldest son burned himself to death. what the fuckety fuck.
lastly, since we saw touya burn uo the way he did... did he really just like... burn so much his jaw fell off, and that's how they found the jawbone? cuz holy hot (BURNING too soon???) damn that must have been painful as all hell. i wonder if next chapter we get to see if someone found touya at the park and helped him out and sorted out the jaw bone thing, or if we finally get to see if deku wakes up lol.
anyways this chapter hurt my heart big time, and i kinda wanna draw kid touya crying while being overlooked by his family to let out some of those feelings but we'll see.
and i still stand by my idealistic and naively optimistic hope that dabi gets redeemed and they soend some actually time together as a family (without enji. or at least, with an enji that has apologized to touya in seiza. like, forehead-to-floor apologize.)
does this hope sort out how dabi redeems himself, seeing as how he's murdered people in cold blood and shouldnt be excused for that bc those actions are also inarguably terrible? no. not sure how he could redeem himself for that kinda stuff honestly, but it doesnt mean i dont still somehow want the todoroki sibs to get along, cuz im weak for mending families.
also id like to send a huge kudos out into the world to rei todoroki for being firm for once and for also not running away from her mistakes like her asshole husband has been. i really admire and respect that. she was afraid and being abused, but now that she's been away from enji and has had time to heal, now that her and shouto are in the mend and she's seen that her eldest son is alive and a villain, she's a place where she can acknowledge that even though she was a victim too, she played a part in touya's emotional neglect and she's taking responsibility and that speaks to some incredible fucking strength. damn.
i hope one day that dabi realizes the same in regards to his mother and natsuo, who shouldered a lot of his emotional pain and suffered the consequences of his outbursts (even though his emotions are valid and his outbursts understandable, he still hurt rei and put a lot of pressure on natsu), and i also hope he sees that for all that he hates his father, his whole existence revolves around enji and it's a shitty place to be (and then he'll have ANGST abt it and that shit will be!! so good!!!)
yeah i think those were all my feelings. i had so many lol. their family situation is so difficult, i hope they all turn out okay and alive and healing.
oh i guess i also wanted to say that i kept calling enji an asshat and asshole cuz he was for sure, but i still think his redemption is valid and im glad he's taking those steps to be a better person by being a better father. i dont know if id want his family to forgive him for all that horrible shit he put them through (im personally hoping that no matter what anyone else does, natsuo will choose to to cooperate in the healing of his family as a unit but will never forgive enji) but i think it's good of people to try to be better than they were yesterday regardless of whether or not they get forgiveness. i dont personally like enji, but i dont hate that he's getting a redemption. i just hope it's a redemption that makes sense and forces him to put in the work, and isnt something like a death sacrifice for shouto or dabi. i want him to be alive and i want his redemption process to hurt like a fucking bitch while he forces himself to make better choices and be a better person, cuz redemption isnt supposed to be easy in the slightest. i GUESS all the crying he did in 302 was a good start.
anyways, if for some reason you read all the way down to the bottom--hello! and thanks for reading haha. cheers! :)))

inner turbulence
summary: hinata shoyo is an empathetic person. he didn’t need to go through pain to understand another person’s pain. all he needed to understand was perspective. and that was all there was to it.
in japan, the legal age that entitles a person to enter the mafia was unknown. all that was known was once you were recruited, any past experiences, memories and relationships were all lost once you started training.
unlike most, hinata was lucky. most of his friends were already accustomed to the culture so the cutting of other relationships didn’t feel like such a heavy burden.
all he needed to understand was that in some instances, two wrongs do make a right. and in his case, that came in the form of bloodshed.
it’s twelve am in the country he’s returning from.
the last station had been a false alarm so their journey of three days had been for nought. besides from the odd stares for his brightly coloured hair and unexpected optimism, the assignment hadn’t been too taxing, just a few checkups here and there - he wouldn’t even be on this vehicle if it weren’t for miya’s laziness and tendency to take full advantage of the seniority role.
“it’s tradition to make the newbie take all the assignments at first for a week.” he could see the sympathetic glances from his other teammates and clearly this was a regular occurrence.
he’s forcing his eyes to remain awake despite the unholy hour it was, letting his thumb scroll through countless socials and trying to still submerge himself into his previous life, one that wasn’t filled with so many abnormalities and secrets.
if he concentrates long enough, sometimes he can still hear his sister nagging him for leaving without any further notice, leaving his mother distraught. it makes his heart heavy with emotions he doesn’t particularly enjoy experiencing nor speaking too much about but he knew there wasn’t anything he could do about that.
it’s ten minutes past 3 when he finally dozes off, the phone slipping out of the grip of his fingertips slightly and resting comfortably in his palms. with the position he was sleeping in, there was no doubt that he’ll have to find time to stretch all his limbs out.
ten minutes then twenty minutes go by before his phone vibrates. the sound is deep and hollow but ten seconds follow after that, the sound reverberating in his ears.
it takes five vibrations for hinata to wake up, brushing away the particles of sleep that had accumulated, telling him that his body had finally managed to rest.
miya atsumu: yer awake?
miya atsumu: oi
miya atsumu: i know yer ignorin’ me
miya atsumu: at least respond!
miya atsumu: answer the phone dammit!
if he wasn’t so tired, he would have scowled. following on from that, he would have preferred to ignore the message but seeing as miya didn’t look to be stepping down from texting him, it didn’t look like the conversation would die down anytime soon.
hinata shoyo: it’s 3am
miya atsumu: and it’s midday in japan. time zones exist
hinata’s lips pull into a pout. if you know that, then why are you even texting me at this time.
hinata shoyo: what is it?
miya atsumu: well i can’t discuss it over the phone cos of security issues and that but we’ve got another assignment
what?
hinata shoyo: wdym another assignment? i haven’t even gotten enough rest from this current one!
miya atsumu: well take that up with meian not me.
he knows that it was most likely atsumu who convinced meian to administer this mission not the other way around.
hinata shoyo: when is it?
miya atsumu: twenty-first of june
of all days? assignments would usually take a few hours or possibly a few days; hence why sleep was such an important thing to have if you were doing them back to back. on the plus side, the longer assignments were usually worth a lot more money since not everyone was willing to take them on.
unfortunately miya atsumu wasn’t “everyone” so he brought any new assignment to meian who administers and arbitrates it, resulting in the four of them (i.e. bokuto and sakusa if he was feeling up for it) to set off and complete the task.
on the rare occasion that the assignment could not be completed, a supplementary team would be sent out - something which atsumu never took pride in because it didn’t sit right with him that another person was completing something that he wanted to do initially.
despite being in a group together, they were already ahearsed with his tendencies, hence why they don’t even question his bad mood when they’ve failed their mission.
hinata dozes off after sending another message to miya, briefly telling him that he'll think it over after he returns to the main quarters.

“i hope you’ve been eating properly.” the voice his mother makes is stern and fixed. he wasn’t expecting a call from her at this time, especially since he left without saying goodbye. she was forgiving, but that forgiveness could only get you so far…
hinata replies with a sound that was followed by a breath of relief coming from the other line. “i haven’t changed anything about my diet. just added some more protein and increased my calories by a small amount. nothing too alarming.”
“that’s… good.” it goes silent for a few minutes before she clears her throat. he’s old enough to know that there was something wrong. there was a certain tone that she would take; mannerisms that she would often hint at to let you know that something was bothering her.
natsu wasn’t old enough to understand but when their mother was in this state, any slight tremor could set her off.
“well, i’ve got to unpack my things now so i’ll talk to you soon.” he hopes that’s enough to ward her away. his teeth bite the inner flesh of his cheek. was she satisfied? he hates the idea of treading on eggshells around her but hates lying to her even more.
“yes, i suppose that does take some concentration. i’ll call you again later in the week shoyo. me and natsuo miss you.” don’t say that. “she won’t say it but she misses not having you there to play volleyball with.” please don’t say anything else. “we love you.”
“i love you too.” the line cuts as he discards his phone into the pile of clothes waiting to be folded and put into his wardrobe. saying those three words gets harder every time he has to hear them. hearing those three words gets harder because he knows that she’ll break if he stops saying them.
hinata questions the reason why he decided to work for the mafia.
was it because of the money? the danger? the thrill of becoming a criminal of society? no. it definitely wasn’t any of those reasons. because if you asked anyone here if they were happy, they would struggle to answer truthfully knowing what they knew now.
perhaps that’s why miya lost the spark in his eyes the last time he saw him those few years ago or how bokuto seems less chirpier than usual or why sakusa seems so mellow as opposed to his usual level of aloofness.
as he’s packing away his belongings into their respective slots and drawers, a knock at the door reaches his ears. an infamous splash of blonde catches his peripheral and the ginger is quick to shout a “come in” to allow him to enter.
miya is sporting a black turtleneck and a matching pair of straight leg jeans. out of respect, he removes his shoes to reveal the grey socks that stopped briefly before his ankle.
taking the vacant spot on his bed, he releases a breath of relief.
“so how was the mission?”
“not very eventful. they made a mistake with the request so we still get the money but they’re currently sending out a notice to meian to let him know about the error,” hinata shrugs.
“is that so?” the relaxed tone of his voice irritated hinata for some reason. “anyway, i still need to get yer up to speed with the new assignment.”
“ahh you mean the one that you said you couldn’t tell me about at three o’clock in the morning.”
“how many times do i need to tell yer that it was an honest mistake shoyo?” he hisses. “can we talk about that later though? i still need to explain the details.”
hinata nods, letting miya relax once again.
“okay so i went on an expedition with bokuto a few days ago in regards to a rumour i heard a while back.”
“you mean the one about the daughter of the man that runs that big fire armoury? i thought she died after going missing? isn’t that what the report said?”
“yer really think she died?”  miya asks. “because something about that report didn’t sit right with me.”
hinata frowns. “but you’re always saying that and most of the time there isn’t anything wrong.”
“bokuto thought the same actually. he didn’t read through it all but he noticed there was something odd about the dates they wrote down.” hinata turns to hear the sound of papers being ruffled around, looking at the beige coloured file containing a few miscellaneous sheets, held together by a few staples. “turn to the third page. and read out the first two dates.”
the three dates he recalled were said in the following order: “date of birth, 27th december 1996; date of first recorded absence, 20th august 2010; date of recorded death, 23rd december, 2010.” *the dates look normal to me.
“anything weird about those dates?” miya asks to which hinata shakes his head, confused. “that’s what i thought initially until i gave it to bokuto a week ago. he thinks someone tampered with the dates.”
with that, he looks at the report once more, staring at the black print for a straight minute or so until his head pops up like a recoiled spring.
“yeah you’re right! it used to say august instead of december!” he points out. “but why is that significant?”
this idiot notices one small detail and doesn’t even understand the significance behind it? atsumu thinks to himself, narrowing his eyes.
“well don’t yer think it’s odd that her death was recorded just three days after her first absence? in fact, the person must’ve been missing for about six months before they can put it down as a death. only issue is that the paperwork gets really annoying to fill out.” he grimaces. just the thought of all those sheets to sign, read through and tick seemed too tiring for him.
“really? i didn’t know that!”
‘course you didn’t.
“yeah it was something sakusa actually told me during our lunch break. so i brought it up with meian and he said that we could investigate and report any findings.”
“well did you find anything?”
“nothing. even took a train to the north to check but we didn’t find anything,” he sighs. “so we came back to tokyo and decided to treat ourselves with a drink at this club i recently found. they offer shows at night provided that you book in advance.”
“why is any of that important?” says hinata who was aware of the infamous club he was talking about. the one that their head nurse hated because of how uncomfortable the men at that place made her feel. judging from the face of disgust that she made, he could only imagine how horrid the place must be.
“well whilst we were wallowing in self-pity, one of the waitresses caught my eye.” miya smirks and tells him to turn to the first page.
he looks at the picture of the supposedly dead girl. “what’s so special about the photo?” apart from the poor quality of the images, his eyes catch onto the family photo of four individuals, the girl in question standing in the middle.
he doesn’t remember seeing a family photo that looked so hostile.
“every member of that family is identified by this specific tattoo. i don’t know why it’s necessary but whilst that waitress was cleaning, i noticed that she also had a tattoo on the lower side of her navel.”
“that doesn’t sound like a decent thing to do.”
“i didn’t stare okay! it was just a glance. but it looked really similar so i got to thinking and started comparing the image. they looked very very similar.”
miya continues to explain his findings to hinata as he cleans up his room. the conversation lasts for around ten more minutes until he’s finished folding away his clothes and miya is satisfied with what he has to say. compared to other missions, this one seemed like one that he was extremely persistent about completing, the reason unknown to him.
when he feels the bed dip, miya looks at hinata.
“so what do yer think? does it sound cool?”
he shrugs. “i don’t know. just sounds off to me that we’re going to kidnap someone and give them away for some leverage.”
“it’s just something you’ll have to get used to shoyo. things like this are normal.”
he doesn’t reply. instead he flops onto his bed, rubbing strands of his hair away from his face to stare at his ceiling. is this what the mafia was about? getting innocents involved in dark business? treating people like objects? was this something that seemed like fun to him?
conclusion: he couldn’t think of one, to say. says that it’s because his mind wasn’t in that “proper mindset.” [2.2k]

Spidershouto:Into The Spiderverse part 2
Please do not read this part without reading part 1,which can be found in my 'itsv au tag' tag
Warnings:Murder,lowkey gore
Shouto is,as he predicted, late to school but the tingly happiness he feels makes the stern scolding from Mr.Aizawa worth it.He apologizes sincerely when he's finished and sits down in his usual seat-and notices they have a new student.
They're chubby and just barely shorter than him, with a strong nose, plump lips and curly black hair styled in a ponytail with baby hairs and pink tips and beautiful eyes of a matching color.Their skin is the darkest he's ever seen and it's absolutely gorgeous. They're gorgeous and their kind smile when he sits down next to them makes them look downright enchanting.
Mr.Aizawa starts the film and he takes the distraction to talk to them."Hey."He whispers and they subtly look back at him."Hey."They whisper back."Are you new?I'm Todoroki." "Yes,i am.I'm Yaoyorozu." "Do you want me to show you around?I don't really talk to anyone so i do a lot of wandering around and i know this place by heart by now." "I'd love it if you did that. You seem really nice."He feels himself blush and hopes the darkened room and his brown skin hides it."Thanks.I feel the same way about you."The two friends(they are,he's sure of it)then proceeded to actually pay attention to the video and once class is over,Yaoyorozu waits for him outside the classroom door with their Spiderman school bag.
"Hi Todoroki!"He can actually hear their voice properly now and holy shit,it's freaking angelic."Ready to show me around?" "Yeah!Let's go, Yaoyorozu!"While he started showing her around,he finally noticed the pins on their bag.A trans flag one and a 'she/her' pronouns one."Wait!"He pointed to them,"You're like me!"He's literally vibrating. He'd never met another trans person before!Yaoyorozu tucked a black curl behind her hair, surprised."Wait, what do you mean?" "I'm trans too!"He jabs a thumb into his chest and pulls down his school shirt enough to reveal the black binder he was wearing today.Yaoyorozu gasped, stars in her eyes, and grabs his hands, which makes him blush again."It's official,we're friends!"She said excitedly and he can't help but hug her.To his relief, she hugs him back immediately and they stay like that for a few seconds before continuing their tour but holding hands this time, ignoring the suspicious looks they get from their classmates.
For the rest of the school day,Shouto and Yaoyorozu(her first name is Momo, she'd told him,and it suited her so much)didn't leave eachother's side and talked in-between classes. She didn't say much about her home life and he didn't force her.Afterall,he didn't want to talk about his either. He told her about his art and she,in thanks, told him about how she played the drums. They found out they both loved neapolitan ice cream, calming video games and cats and they laughed about the differences in their countries spanish dialects(a cute girl AND she was trans AND latina. He hoped she didn't transfer to another school). When it ended, they hugged goodbye and he went to his dorm room to pick up his art supplies, nodding in greeting to Midoriya.
He took the bus to Touya's apartment(after calling Fuyumi and telling him he'd be there, obviously)and peeked through the window to look for Touya. He found him laying on the couch, flipping through channels.Anyone could tell they were brothers and for that matter, that Natsuo and Fuyumi were their siblings. They all took after Mami(same brown skin, same nose, same thick lips and same hair texture-although Touya and Natsuo opted to leave their hair like it naturally was and taking care it while him and Fuyumi put theirs into locs). He squished his face into the glasses and moved it around while calling out to him."Big Bro Touyaaaa!Big Bro Touya!"Touya snapped his head towards him and burst out laughing when he saw him.He missed making him do that.
Shouto curled up into Touya's arms as they layed on the couch together and he told him about his day. When it was Shouto's turn,Touya looked incredibly interested."You made a friend!Fuckin' finally! But you like Yaoyorozu, yeah?" "...Maybe."He refused to make eye contact and felt his body vibrate with his eldest brother's deep chuckles."C'mon, you can tell me.I won't tell anyone, not even Fuyumi." "...Yes,i like Yaoyorozu. But just like.I'm not in love with her." "Yet." "Shut up!"Touya laughed more loudly this time,"Alright!Anyway, let's go do what you came here for."Shouto stopped pouting and beamed as Touya ruffled his hair.
They went down to the train station and Shouto stood on Touya's shoulders as the latter held him by his ankles(Despite barely being taller than him and not having much muscle,Touya was INCREDIBLY strong). He spray-painted a sunflower onto the wall, mentally blasting the song that had inspired it,and Touya put him down to admire his work when he finished."You're better than ever!I'm so proud of you!"Shouto beamed at Touya's words but gasped in pain when he felt a sudden pain on his hand.Touya swatted away the spider that had bitten him there and crushed it under his foot."You okay?" "Yeah,i'm fi-"Touya jerked back all of a sudden, his expression alarmed."Shouto,go home.Now."
"What? Why?" "Shouto, please!Just listen to me!"He was desperate and Shouto nodded slowly and hopped onto the train that was headed in the direction of his home.Once Touya couldn't see him anymore,he got out and tried to look for him.Instead,he found Spiderman chasing the man he recognized as Kingpin, his blue hair, pale skin and red eyes making him easily recognizable. He felt an odd feeling all of a sudden-like he had to follow them. His legs moved on their own as he listened to this new feeling, even though he was so unsure wether it was a good idea.He couldn't hold back a gasp when they arrived to an abandoned building with some of giant machine-he wasn't sure what it was called but it looked dangerous.
He hid from Kingpin and watched with wide eyes as Spiderman fought against him without a hint of fear. He'd been protecting the city for 10 years now but he couldn't help but be impressed. He surpressed a yell when the machine exploded with Spiderman inside and Spiderman was blasted to his hiding spot.He was coated in blood and was missing an arm but surely,if he got him to the hospital in time-
"TOUYA?!"His face was cut up but he'd know his eldest brother's face anywhere.Touya was Spiderman. It would have been a beyond cool discocery in other circumstances but not now, when he was barely alive!"Touya!"He sobbed it out this time, teary eyed,as he placed his head in his lap."S-Shouto...!I'm sorry you had to find out like this but please, take this and don't let Kingpin or any of his cronies have it!"The raspiness of his voice made more tears come but he took the USB flash drive from his hand and flinched when he heard Kingpin approaching. He scurried to another hiding spot and covered his mouth to hide the loud sob that escaped his mouth when Kingpin crushed Touya's face with his brass knuckles. He knew what a kill looked like.Touya was dead.
Shouto managed to get back home without Kingpin spotting him, feeling numb the entire way there. As he snuck back into his bedroom through the window, realization hit him.Touya was dead,Mami was dead. He'd seen them be killed. He wasn't even in his second year of high school yet and he'd seen his mom AND one of his brother's be murdered. He would never not be grateful for when Fuyumi and Natsuo walked in.He ran into their arms, his legs barely carrying him,and cried his heart out. They're never coming back, they're never coming back.
They hugged him back and didn't ask what was wrong and he was once again grateful. He couldn't talk about it-he didn't WANT to talk about it.Later,as they watched the news,he closed his eyes as tightly as he could when Touya's smiling, dead face popped up as they explained his identity and he shrunk into himself when he heard his remaining siblings horrified gasps. They broke down along with him and he wished he had the ability to time travel,to do something.
And he was going to.He couldn't bring back Touya but like hell he was going to let his death be in vain.He was going to defeat Kingpin.Somehow.
