ALRIGHT YOU KILLJOY MOTHERFUCKERS, DO YOU WANT PARTY POISON HAIR? HERES HOW. DONE BY ME.
(A note before we start: i have shoulder length, level 4-5 dark brown hair, so thats what these instructions are for. tweak the bleaching rounds and dye measurements as needed. in total i spent about $80 on the bleach/dye, so if you buy the same products i did from ulta, then expect this to cost ~$80 not including supplies (mixing bowls, clips, combs etc.))
GRAB SOME ARCTIC FOX HAIR BLEACH OR ANY LEVEL 35 LIGHTENER. SLATHER THAT SHIT IN YOUR HAIR FOR THE RECOMMENDED TIME. I USED ARCTIC FOX BLEACH PLEASE FROM ULTA. YOU NEED ENOUGH FOR TWO ROUNDS. ONE BOX WAS JUST ENOUGH FOR MY HAIR (1cm away from roots to ends)
DONT WASH YOUR HAIR FOR A MONTH. GET THAT SHIT REAL NICE AND GREASY. HAS IT BEEN A MONTH? GOOD. SLATHER ANOTHER BATCH OF THAT BLEACH ON THERE. (Putting this in lowercase bcs it’s important: This takes TIME. You need to allow your hair some recovery time so you don’t absolutely obliterate it. I recommend using a hair mask after the first bleach and to leave it on for 30 minutes.) IF YOUR NATURAL HAIR IS SIMILAR TO MINE THEN YOU SHOULD BE AT AROUND A LEVEL 8-9 WHEN YOURE DONE WITH THIS. IF YOURE GOING TO DYE YOUR HAIR RIGHT AFTER THIS, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DONT PUT CONDITIONER AFTER WASHING THE BLEACH OUT.
MAKE SURE YOUR HAIR IS DRY. ITS BETTER TO AIR DRY IT BUT IF YOU REALLY CANT WAIT YOU CAN BLOW DRY IT. !!!ALWAYS PAT DRY YOUR HAIR, NEVER SQUEEZE AND PULL!!! YOU CAN DYE YOUR HAIR THE SAME DAY YOU BLEACHED IT. I USED ARCTIC FOX DYE, THE BIG BOY BOTTLES (8oz, i got em from ulta) AND I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU DO TOO. ITS EXPENSIVE ($17 per bottle depending on where you buy) BUT IF YOU WANT NICE RESULTS YOU CANT BE CHEAP.
YOU NEED TWO BOTTLES. ONE IN POISON RED AND ONE IN SUNSET ORANGE. FIGURE OUT HOW MUCH YOU NEED, AND THEN MIX THEM 50/50. I HAVE SHOULDER LENGTH HAIR, AND I NEEDED ABOUT 2/3 A BOTTLE EACH COLOR WITH SOME LEFTOVER. MIX WELL. SLATHER THAT SHIT IN YOUR HAIR. MAKE SURE YOUR HAIR IS SATURATED AND ALL THE BLONDE IS COVERED. LET IT SIT FOR 30-35 MINUTES. NO LONGER OR YOU RISK MAKING THE COLOR COME OUT TOO DARK.
WASH AND RINSE YOUR HAIR IN COLD WATER, COOL WATER IF YOU CANT DO COLD, AND LUKEWARM WATER AT HOTTEST. THIS WILL HELP PRESERVE THE COLOR. GO ABSOLUTELY NUTS ON THE CONDITIONER IF YOU WANT, BUT DO NOTE THAT THE DYE IS ACTUALLY REally conditioning and it makes your hair super soft, so too much conditioner isnt really necessary. BUT GO OFF ON THE CONDITIONER I GUESS.
LET IT DRY. CONGRATULATIONS. NOW YOU LOOK LIKE PARTY POISON. TIME TO WALK AROUND LOOKING LIKE THE SASSIEST MOTHERFUCKER THIS PLANET HAS TO OFFER.

Hello!! I was wanting to get into the whole collecting bones and things community 🙋 I was wondering what products you use for everything cuz all your work and bones is so pretty! So like. . . what do I need to complete the whole process (maceration,de greasing, bleaching etc.) and where can I buy those things!? Thanks 😊
hello! of course the obligatory: CHECK YOUR COUNTRY/STATE’S LAWS! in regards to both animals and products!
MACERATION: requires AIR-TIGHT CONTAINERS, WATER. i macerate most things which consists of leaving a head or bodypart in a jar of tap water and leaving it. i store these on top of the boiler as the airing cabinet is in my room, this keeps the water very warm consistently which speeds up the process. i always skin and occasionally deflesh whatever is going in to macerate as skin can be quite tough and the more defleshing, the less time it’ll take. the jars i use are food jars, like the ones you get pasta sauce or pickles in, as they tend to have a very airtight seal. you can probably ask around your family and friends to keep these jars around, or buy a jar of pickled onions and eat them all lol. theyll need a good rinse of course. you can heat maceration by leaving things next to a radiator as well, which i used to do a year ago, or changing a third of the water with hot water daily. another thing is apparently rain or pond water works better with maceration if you cant heat as theyre rife with bacteria already VS tap water which is sterilized. maceration also STINKS. it beats maggot smell but still! it also doubles as degreasing if heated for me,. i leave greasy parts i.e. wings and legs in maceration longer than i would typically need to to degrease as well.
DEGREASING: requires CONTAINER, WATER, WASHING-UP LIQUID or ACETONE. i actually dont degrease nearly as much as i should! but it consists leaving a flesh-free skull post maceration in a container with warm water and either washing up liquid or acetone. the best brand here in the UK is fairy, i use the green stuff. avoid anything with citrus because the acid apparently can damage bone. ive never worked with acetone but its more heavy duty, i believe it can be bought on ebay. a greasey skull will have yellow or even orange patches that feel oily to the touch. it doesnt affect the integrity of the bone but it just kinda looks ugly lol. degreasing can take a long time as well, heating it can cut the time but for especially greasy creatures like domestics can take months. all you do is put the skull in the soapy water and forget about it, you only really need to change the water when it gets super cloudy. of course if you take it out to dry and it isnt actually done you can just put it back in! this also isnt as smelly as maceration by a mile but it does have a weird smell.
WHITENING: requires NON-AIRTIGHT CONTAINER, HYDROGEN PEROXIDE, and WATER. a lot of the community say ‘whitening’ instead of bleaching because using actual bleach will indeed whiten a skull, but it will also completely ruin it! never ever use bleach on anything organic. hydrogen peroxide is safe on bone and organics - hell, its used in hair bleach! this is where you'll wanna check laws because some countries like the UK ban percentages over a limit, i.e. we need a strict license over here to have percentages over 12%. peroxide can be bought on ebay here, i get lucemill brand and it costs 8 pounds to get a litre that lasts a month or two. you can use it as is or dilute it further, the latter is marginally safer though theres not much risk, and saves peroxide. i usually use a quarter peroxide to three quarters water. you can tell its working if when you put a bone in it starts ‘fizzing’! leave the container somewhere away from direct sunlight too, if possible. for me it only takes overnight to whiten most bones. peroxiding straight after degreasing is also a good way to see if theres more grease or if its just discolouration. this stuff is also an irritant! it causes your skin to go a weird white for a while and feel uncomfortably tingly. personally i dont get anything unless i touch the undiluted full 12%, i can dunk my whole hand in my whitening batches just fine. its worth wearing gloves if you have sensitive skin. learn from my mistake as well and rinse bones before moving them into whitening batches, youll want to keep debris out of it! its just a pain otherwise. one batch can last a long time, i dont dump one until it takes a substantial time to whiten or its gone very cloudy. it can just be flushed down toilets as far as i know.every time you take bones out of one mixture dont flush anything away until youre confident you have every piece. ive cleaned skulls for so long i have a pretty solid mental map of every piece of a skull or skeleton, this can vary between species. youll have to get hands on with your grosswater lol, sieves can be a lifesaver as well. this’ll make any inevitable puzzle so much easier. empty into another container through a sieve in case anything is too small.i hope that wasnt too longwinded? when i first got into cleaning bones i struggled a bit because i find i need thorough guides for stuff lol. if you have anymore questions dont be afraid to ask!

drop the name of the oil you used, I'm going to lush this week and need aome recs 👀👀
it was this baby!! melting marshmallow moment ugh she smells so good like candy…. i really like the sweet scents so i’ll give you a few recs based off that but if sweet isnt ur thing then just go smell them all, honestly you cant go wrong at lush!
ok first of all honey i washed the kids…. oh my god this is my favorite scent in the entire world
i use the scrubee fairly religiously as well, it has that same honey/toffee scent and i love the way it basically makes you feel like you already put on lotion when you get out of the shower. i wish they made it without the exfoliating pieces so i could have that feeling all the time
they do have king of skin which is a similar thing but it doesnt have the same smell and its like highkey expensive lmao and frankly i use it up too fast to be paying for it that regularly but like, it is very nice if u want that
i use big as my regular shampoo, frankly i dont even know if it actually gives me volume but it makes me feel so clean and its a good scalp exfoliator and on top of that it lasts FOREVER, i’ve had my current jar for a year now so although it’s $$$ it gives you your money’s worth
i dont use a lush conditioner as my regular conditioner because my hair is really long so it gets dry super fast, but i do use veganese on my scalp because i need conditioner there (i dont care WHAT everyone says i gotta condition my ROOTS) and veganese is a really light conditioner that does the job without making me greasy,,, see above regarding price to use ratio
r&b hair moisturizer…… life changing. a goddess. smells like jasmine and everything delicious. i put the tiniest bit on my ends when they’re dry and the scent lingers all day and they look good as new….. where has this been all my life
i’m not a big bath bomb person and i haven’t used any of their face stuff but HIGHLY recommend lush because it’s a great company with ethical and environmentally friendly practices!!! im never disappointed with the stuff i buy there and the salespeople are always so wonderful and helpful and you can tell they genuinely love the products.

Did you catch the glimmer on the middle ingredient? . . It’s cappuccino mica and it’s my secret ingredient to a stunning head of unwashed hair (going on 7 days😉) it gives you all the #luxe sheen and vibrant luster you want without an oily scalp and greasy look. . . I’ve been learning a thing or two about keeping a healthy head of hair form @jasmineraehairco and most are surprised to learn, washing isn’t included in her recommendations. . . Also, see my previous post on the amount of time I am saving myself every week with not washing my hair. . . Now, the old me would call bullshit (I use to be a strict washer-everydayer) buuuuuuut 🤨 not washing my hair has actually changed the entirety of my hair’s health!! 😲 #itstrue . . I am an #aunaturel kind of gal- I am somebody who likes to think about the kinds of products I am using on, around and in my body. #chemicalfreelife . . Store bought dry shampoos won’t work for me because: A. Aerosol cans are just bad in general *google that shit* B. The product is a mix of toxic chemicals and man made fragrance. . . Both of which have been linked to cancer, eczema, respiratory issues and more . . No thank you! . . This DIY dry shampoo is whipped up in less than two minutes. I use a powdered makeup brush to apply but I mostly use clean finger tips. I flip my head upside down over the bathtub or shower floor, dip my fingers into dry shampoo powder and massage into my hair line, scalp, behind my ears & nape of the neck hair line. . . Ingredients: 2 TBSP of Cocoa powder. It’s the exact same stuff you bake with (or add to smoothies) 2TBSP of ArrowRoot Powder (doubles as all natural bum powder) 1TBSP Cappuccino Mica Powder (because I have dark roots) 5 drops each of dōterra’s Peppermint, Rosemary & Lavender (promotes healthy hair follicles) Mix together with a spoon or airtight lid and shake & voila 🤗 #DIY #dryshampoo #momswhoswear #thinkdirty #shopclean #diybodycare #edgymom #essentialoilparlour #ōgoddesstribe (at The Southern Gulf Islands) https://www.instagram.com/p/BuFNhYlB0RT/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=sd643s7h6af0
