What are dead man walking tornadoes? :O

it’s a multi-vortex tornado. i dont remember the tribe it originates from (i think it was cherokee), but there’s a native american legend…? saying? that goes “if you see a man in a tornado, you are about to die.”

the most infamous shot of a dead man walking tornado hit jarrell, texas in 1997

it did so much damage to the town it caused the scale that tornados are measured by, the fijita scale, undergo revisions, and it made anchoring buildings in the tornado alley region pretty much mandatory. (it took the entire town off the map. only those who had taken shelter outside of the town or in underground bunkers survived.)

two more examples of dead man walking tornadoes looking like a person are a tornado from 2011 that hit cullman, alabama

and a tornado from 1975 that hit xenia, ohio

an ex-zionist jewish man recently went a bit viral on tiktok for sharing exactly how he sees zionism tie israel to the jewish identity and his personal experience with breaking away from it - I think it’s a really great watch.

He also made a follow up talking specifically about how he learned to humanise Palestinians, and a really integral part of it was his school, which would often bring in Palestinian speakers who’d share their perspective (here’s a link to it).

When I was a child, I always trusted 'authority figures' and thought they always did the right thing and could be trusted, but I've had multiple very traumatic experiences with healthcare professionals, who at that particular time had control over my health and wellbeing, who have treated me so so poorly, to the extent that I have panic attacks every time I think about one particular incident (something that happened last year in A&E), and I know that I need to talk about it when I start therapy again but I'm terrified that they'll gaslight me into thinking that it was somehow my fault and that I've made it up in my head, even though I know I haven't, because I've had awful therapists in the past who have bullied and threatened me so I have massive trust issues with health services now... I don't really know why I'm rambling about this, I think because I'll be starting therapy again soon and I'm scared that I'm gonna get someone mean and controlling :(
