One thing about being in translation is that you end up noticing how weird some things would sound if they were translated in a literal way into English.

Today the lady at the cafeteria asked me "Multibanco, princesa?" Which is an absolute hell to translate even though it contains just two words. What she was asking me was if I wanted to pay using the portable ATM machine. Then she addressed me as "princesa" which literally translates to princess.

And that's totally normal here but from what I understand of English the only situations you'd ever refer to an adult like me as princess would be if

You're flirting

You're joking or mocking the person you're addressing. It's a way of calling someone spoiled.

However in this case it meant that the lady saw me as someone younger than her and she wanted to be extra nice so instead of going to the more formal "menina" (miss) she went with a nickname that would denote some endearment. I'd say the closest thing in English would be the term "dear".

so we suspect one of our dogs grew up abused which is. a terrible way to start this. but we've had her for five or six years now and she still retains a lot of her habits but its very cute to see how our love for her has changed her. youll see her all curled up tail tucked in ears flat as you approach but shes making these tiny little tail wags anyway.

#when we first adopted her she was soo scared she hid and bit and ran away. and shes still very scared but in a shaky way not a running way. #she loves getting pets from me lol. #and she could not handle my dad for the longest time and she still fairly cautious but now she'll come up to him for pets! its so sweet #and when a lot of people when come over she used to nip at heels but i think shes taught herself to just hide under the bed instead #and even then! sometimes she comes down of her own accord! #she loves belly rubs. and when i hold her tiny head between my hands and grind down on her skull. #now that shes getting up there in age + we think she was a mom before we adopted her she has difficulty getting onto couches #and shes been doing this thing where when you sit down and she wants to join when you bend down to pick her up she'll run from your hand #and i think she likes it because shes like running and jumping and wagging her tail and showing her belly. shes such a freak. #and she jumps like a bunny rabbit for treats its so cute its my moms nickname for her. #and shes always walking underfoot because shes a freak #and occasionally if you pet her wrong she'll snap and you and then immediately get really apologetic and wanting pets its so sad #this has just been me talking about my dog. i love my dog. ill post a picture of my dog.

Anyway, I had an original design for this type of look on the Ipad, ended up not looking at it once since I apparently have memory. Kinda glad I didn't since I could go just by memory and figure it out as I went along ya know. (ps, for those who don't normally read tags just like, please do, i put so many lil things in there lolz)

Okay SO, I have this lil headcanon, nothin big, that Jersey didn't used to wear shorts until like 2000 or something, maybe a bit before then. This is because he has some scars on his legs, just from over the years, and wearing shorts not only shows those but also make it easier for him to get scrapes and such.

He was fine wearing shorts around NY, Del, and Rhode, occasionally Mass as well if he happened to be around at the time. He couldn't wear them around anyone else for a long time, some scars had Memories(tm) attached to them, some good most bad, so he just never wore shorts.

He's gotten a lot more comfortable wearing them around the other states over the years, mainly because of Covid where Mass unfortunately wouldn't let him keep wearing the same two pairs of pants. So he's fine now, if still a lil uncomfortable around some states (the west mainly), you just won't see him wearing them until it's the first day over 60 in state.

Anyway I love NJ but this isn't surprising, I live here. I am NOT a simp for this bitch, he's my state, I have to like him, 'sides who else would I attach to? Pennsylvania? Florida? Or god forbid NEW YORK!? Absolutely not, that's sacrilegious that is.

What is an amphibia

Oh, man. As im rewatching it, too.

Amphibia is an animated show that i could best compare to The Owl House. It is a Disney show that aired in 2019(?) And ended last year. Unlike The Owl House, it does not have as much lgbt representation, so do not go into it expecting that. For a lot of the show, it is more "filler" episodes. Though, this does not mean that they aren't important and should be skipped over. In my opinion, it has a very good story, and its themes are done really well. I absolutely love the characters, and i think their development is done soooo well.

Onca again, it is a bit slow, especially in the beginning, but it is worth getting through, in my opinion. It is my favorite show ever, and i think you should definitely give it a watch!

Saw a dead fox today... It's haunting me

#im so fine with seeing dead animals because i grew up in the countryside #and my dad used to shoot pheasants and my mum would pluck them at the table #and ive had cats all my life #so like sure dead animal very sad but also im okay with it it happens #but this was at the house i garden at #and the owner is away so im doing some work occasionally whilst shes not home #and it was just me and the tree surgeon in the garden #and in the corner of the garden was just a fox corpse #cant have been more than a few days old at most #but it didnt have any eyes #and it was just laying there #and no one had been around #so this fox had stumbled into the garden ill #and just died on its own #and so i got the tree surgeon to put it in a bag and take it to the country with him when he left #and he was being so kind and delicate to this dead fox #it just spooked me because i was rushing about working and doing my day and #just being stared at by the beautiful peaceful eyeless corpse of a dead fox... #anyway #tw animal death #maybe a bit late for that lmao #al is talking
