TAMAKI SUOH + valentines special !!
tamaki suoh (ohshc) x reader ; fluff
short wip that has been stuck in my documents for so long. i decided that it was finally time for me to release it to the world 'cause why not 🤩.
Tumblr media
“welcome!”
he had beautiful shimmering blond hair that shone brightly when came in contact with the sun, gorgeous violet orbs that were similar to that of an amethyst, he was gorgeous.
tamaki suoh.
you've thought of him as an annoying ego-centered rich idiot the moment you saw him—especially when he mistakenly found your sister, haruhi, a male.
only those with excellent social standing, and those from filthy rich families, are lucky enough to spend their time here at the elite private school, ouran academy.
and the ouran host club is where the school's handsomest boys with too much time on their hands entertain young ladies who also have way too much time on their hands—just think of it as ouran academy's elegant playground for the super rich and beautiful!”
scratch that, you knew he was an annoying ego-centered rich idiot the moment you saw him.
you and your sister only ever wanted peace in an abandoned music room. unfortunately, the both of you stumbled across a group of filthy rich brats.
you remembered the time you grabbed your sister's hand after hearing the ‘oh-so-wonderful’ speech that was delivered by the dumb blond, only for haruhi to stumble upon a vase that caused the both of you to change your lives forever.
he really was annoying.
Tumblr media
“a little water wouldn't hurt anyone. besides, people are always telling me i'm dripping with good looks!”
he would always praise himself or rather his face. At first, it annoyed you every time—sometimes you would even reply with a sarcastic statement, in which he would only shrug.
but as time moved on, you found it amusing. You found him amusing. his way of showing fatherly love to the members of the club, to you and Haruhi. he was a nice man—an ideal one, as some would say.
“yeah, you are.”
you replied, which only made his eyes grow large. he blinked a few times, only to see your brows fusing together as you gave him a confused look.
“this…—this is the first time you didn't reply sarcastically! i knew you'd eventually fall for me—"
you smacked his head, only to earn a small groan from the blond. he held his nape as he once again lifted his head to turn to you. he pouted his lips and eventually sulked mushrooms in the corner again.
you shrugged at his childish ways, turned around and walked away from him.
fall for him? ha, what an idiot.
you did.
Tumblr media
“what good are dreams if all you do is work? there's more to life than hitting the books you know”
you stopped at his statement. he… actually had a point for once. after spending time with him in the host club, repaying your's and haruhi's debt, you noticed that he wasn't really dumb as you thought he would be.
rather than just being an idiotic spoiled child that had too much time on their hands, you realized that he was somewhat intelligent in one's feelings—even if he mistakenly thinks of his romanticly love for Haruhi as a fatherly one.
yes, you know he loves haruhi.
“thanks, but i am quite aware of that”
you thanked him for the advice and walked away, just for him not to notice the tears that were about to stream from your face. you didn't care where your feet would take you, as long as it isn't in a place where he is.
you didn't know why but you were angry, frustrated, and even… jealous.
gou knew that tamaki has always held haruhi in a special place in his heart, it was obvious. and it was also transparent on how he feels the opposite to you.
he would speak to her in a loving and sweet tone—not the one he would use to entertain girls. one that seemed genuine, one where it seemed like he wasn't just doing it because of his charming prince persona. heck, he even saved her when she fell off the cliff… he even got mad because he was furious at the thought of losing her—ouch.
but when it came to you…
the past few days, your relationship with him just became complicated. when you would come up to him, he would avoid you. before he would just tease you with the same mischievous and charming smile he had if you ever did. he would lean in on you and ask you if you're already running to him to get yourself in his arms.
and even how annoying he is, you missed that.
Tumblr media
“hey, you okay?”
your eyes widened as you heard a familiar voice. It was tamaki. your hands immediately wiped the tears from your face, as if nothing happened. You looked at him and gave him a reassuring smile to his question.
“y-yeah, i'm okay...”
he seemed unconvinced to say the least. nonetheless, he sat next to you. not uttering a single word as he does so. the both of you were silent, sitting in silence next to a blossoming sakura tree.
“you know it kind of awkward—the atmosphere, i mean. don't you think?”
he tries to start a conversation, with the same charming smile he uses with the customers of the club. you look at him and give him a quiet nod. agreeing silently.
“well, i assume you're still not going to talk,”—he says, rolling his lips before continuing—“are you cursed? have you become the princess who lost her voice?”
he chuckles, attempting to lighten the silence. but still not earning a response from you. You only sat there, staring at him soundlessly.
“my heart beat is increasing,” he says after minutes of no response from you. he looks up at the pink-flowered tree, his eyes gazing on the petals that fall.
“w-what?”
he turns to you, a small tint of red appearing from his cheeks as he smiles at you. he moves his hand and held it in front of his face, then turned away.
“y-you... everytime I get closer to you, my heart would beat loudly that i couldn't hear anything but it. I was suppose to be the one to bewitch women but why am i the one bewitched by you?”
he continues his confession with a flushed face, still not turning in your direction, “i-i... i tried to avoid you to stop these. but whenever you walk into the room, my eyes follow your figure—making me forget about what i was suppose to do as a host. you were just so—you became and overwhelming presence near me that made me wonder whether mythology's goddess of love and beauty should've been you. and it made me seek out help from haruhi, she just told me to be honest with you. so i—”
you feel emotions mixing inside you at his words, before holding his nape and pulling him closer to you by impulse. not letting him finish, knowing what his next words are gonna be. soon, the both of your lips slowly touched, feeling both of the warmth of each other's mouth. you let your feelings flow through the kiss, responding through actions to his interuppted confession.
at that moment, it was only you, him, a sakura kiss, in a beautiful spring. but he was still an annoying ego-centered rich idiot. this time, your annoying ego-centered rich idiot.
Tumblr media
hello, this thing probs have lots of error and seems incomplete cince i didn't really proofread it—but, um, PLEASE DON'T HATE ME. I'LL DO BETTER!!

Ohshc Headcannon
OHSHC - Y/n in a uncomfortable situation head-cannons
saw someone else do something similar and wanted to put my own spin on it :))
TW: creepy males making y/n uncomfy
gender neutral x host club members
Tumblr media
Haruhi 💗
Tumblr media
You’ve decided to go visit the girl while she’s working.
She’s busy talking to one of her guests so you decided to wait and sit at one of the couches
One of the men quickly walked over, he was here to drop off some shipments but thinks that now you’re a new host/hostess
He sits across from you, just staring for a moment before striking a conversation
“So, you seem like a cutie, are you new here?”
Your eyes widen a bit, taken aback by his presence and how blunt he was
“I’m not apart of this club,” You awkwardly chuckle, hoping that Haruhi is almost finished because now you are starting to feel uncomfortable
“Good, good, that just means I don’t have to share you with anyone,” They wink, standing up and now sitting besides you
Haruhi, stops her conversation with the girls, hearing that awkward chuckle of yours her head turns
At first, she just thinks your talking with one of the boys, one telling a inappropriate joke and you just trying to be kind
But soon realizes that’s not the case, and excuses herself
Haruhi doesn’t exactly feel jealous, just a bit confused, and frankly worried
She can tell by your apparent facial expressions that you’re also worried yourself
Finding a empty tea tray, she grabs it, and rushes over with it, then taking a seat besides you
“Y/n!” She smiles, handing you a tea cup, not even filled. “I’m glad you waited for me, sorry to waist your time,”
You’re overjoyed she’s here, the man sending you some interesting glares and you didn’t want to cause a scene
“I’ll do better at watching the time. Um, i’m sorry you don’t look familiar,” She looks at the man while taking one of your hands and intertwining it with hers
“Oh, you were waiting for someone?” He asks you. “You should have told me, it was like you were leading me on,” he scoffs, standing up and leaving
Haruhi looks at you with a small smile
“What a jerk, would you like me to make some actual tea now?”
The both of you laugh, you feeling much more comfortable with her being by your side
Tamaki 💞
Tumblr media
He was so excited to spend today with you!
You didn’t feel like doing much, just wanting to maybe go to a cafe with the man
He had tons of things planned, zoos, cafes, shopping, musicals, etc
If there was something fun, he had it planned for you two to do soon
After spending half a day planning the dates you’d have when you both had off, today the both of you would go to a pet shop
Tamaki always expressed how much he loved animals, ever since he was able to go to one, and it’s something he still enjoys indulging in
The both of you were outside the shop, he had some money almost spilling out of his wallet, prepared to buy some animals
Leaving you to make sure he doesn’t, or at least doesn’t go overboard...
Once inside the worker set up a room for you two to play with the puppy
Unfortunately, today was a busy day and many people were also coming, so you were paired up with another group of guys
They had a harsher look, not being so friendly, and smelled kind of gross
You weren’t one to judge, sometimes, but something about them gave off a weird feeling
“Gosh, aren’t these puppies adorable!” Tamaki beamed, picking up the little dog into his arms, then bringing it up to his face
“Tamaki, you have to share with the rest of us,” You reminded him, taking the puppy from him and placing it on the ground
The man sat on your other side, quickly went to grab the dog, his hand touching yours a bit
“But Y/n, I didn’t get enough time with him,” He whined, shaking your shoulders a bit while the other men stifled chuckles
“Y/n, that’s a nice name,” The man on your side commented, sending a smile
“Um, thanks,” You just messed with your fingers, not looking at him
“So,” The one man tried to start up a conversation with Tamaki, giving his friend the chance to talk to you
Tamaki knew they were trying to do something, so he made sure to keep a eye on you, making sure you felt okay
“You know, we don’t have plans after this, what if you came and hung out with us?” The man asked you, moving closer
“Sweetie! Don’t forget that you promised to go get ice cream with me after. It’s the perfect end to our date,” Tamaki smiled widely, grabbing your arm and standing up “Ah, I think i’ve seen enough puppies for today,” He put a hand on your cheek and kissed your lips. “Bye now!”
Kyoya 🤍
Tumblr media
His father was hosting a dinner party tonight
The Ootori group just opened a new high tech hospital, with the helps of your families business
It was great to see both families interacting well, and felt good to have his father like you, even if you didn’t really like him
Kyoya was thankful that his father was okay with you, worried it would affect his opportunity in being the heir eventually
You were all dressed up for the night, told to keep a smile and kind words the whole time
But you were mostly planning on spending it by Kyoya’s side..
Eventually he was moved away because his father wanted to introduce all his children to a potential business partner
Your family did the same, to a different man, one who kind of seemed to take a particular interest in you
“I love your hair,” The older, 40 year old man complimented you, your father just smiling lightly and soon walking away
“I should go find, uh, Kyoya!” You smiled oddly at the older man, about to walk away
“Wait up handsome/beautiful,” The man wrapped his chubby fingers around your wrist, tugging on it, and pulling you to stand right in front of him
You frantically looked around, your father talking to someone else, and the mans smile was fretting away from friendly
Kyoya had just finished talking to some painting company CEO, someone he could care less about
He wanted to use this time to do things with you, talk more, hear about your day maybe, just see your smile and hear your laughter
Luckily he turned around at the right moment, seeing the man yank you back and his facial feature turning to a wicked expression
He quickly, but respectfully, whisked over, titling his glasses down a bit and reaching a hand across your lower back to wrap around your waist, pulling you into his side
“Darling, who is this?” Kyoya asked, seeing your expression change to a grateful one
“Um, I never caught his name....?”
“It’s Toling, from America,” He smiled at you, his ‘smile’ changing when looking at Kyoya. “You have a boyfriend?”
“And your from America?” Kyoya questioned back, not letting you answer his. “What exactly is your position, my father, Ootori, he also told me no one from out of country would be here. Why are you here? I don’t think you were invited, this seems like a appropriate moment to call security, do you agree, dear?” He looked at you
“Yeah, I think so,” You grinned at him, pecking his cheek while the older man ran off towards the front door.
Hikaru 💓
Tumblr media
The two of you heard about this new performance group in the area
They weren’t anything professional but still interested you both, maybe being so bad you could make a couple jokes about it
It started off... well interesting to say the least...
You both couldn’t figure out where it was going, what the overall theme of it was, I mean someone spilt their ‘prop’ on the stage floor
It was a disaster in the beginning, the both of you already having jokes in mind, but being respectful to wait till the end to say them
During the performance a hand intertwined with yours, that being Hikaru’s of course
When it was finished, the both of you had no words, just tears?
You didn’t know when they got there, or how the performance all of a sudden changed sad, but it was there
You got up to walk by a concession area, hoping to purchase a pack of tissues
Someone was behind you in line, and you could just feel their gaze on your behind
“Do you have a pack of tissues on hand?” You asked, pulling out some money and the women handing it to you
“Tissues, I could have given you those for free,” The man behind you smiled. “Now, what’s a attractive kid like you doing here?”
“Watching a show, like everyone else,” You motioned with your hand, taking a tissue and wiping your eyes
“You’re a funny one, sparky. How about I treat you to a meal?”
“No, thanks,” You scratched the back of your head, trying to step away, but him just blocking you
“Come on now,” He chuckled, reaching for your arm before you pulled back.
“Y/n, hey, you got them,” Hikaru pushed past him, planting a longer kiss on your lips and swinging his arm to rest over your shoulders. “Do you mind? We’re on a date,” He told the older man, guiding you away from him. “You okay, that man sure was a idiot trying to take you away from me,”
Kaoru 💝
Tumblr media
He was honestly super pumped about getting to spend time with just you
He saw how much his stubborn twin could fall in love with Haruhi and become a better person, to mature, he wanted that with someone and that was you
To say he was nervous, was a understatement, this was your guys’s first date and he wanted it to be great
Sure you had been dating for a while, but still
You both decided on just going to a carnival thing in town
Sounded fun and would let you both get loose a bit, chat about life, truly have a break from everything and everyone
(not everyone, the club was secretly there making sure it went great)
After a long day, and many rides, Kaoru went to go order some food for the both of you while you waited on the bench
“Is this seat taken?” A man around your age questioned, you nodded you head no, and moved over on the bench to give him some space
“Go ahead,”
“Thanks, wow, uh your eyes are really pretty,” He complimented, taking a sip of his drink
“Oh, thanks?” You shyly smiled, tapping you finger on the bench to a beat, waiting for Kaoru to come back
The man kept asking random questions about yourself though, like ‘how old are you’ ‘what do you think of the weather today’ ‘did you like that ride over there?’ it was awkward for you to answer
Kaoru had just bought the food, starting to walk over, but quickly noticing you chatting with the man
He felt, jealous?
This perfect day he was having, and you’re talking to another guy?!
But wait, he remembered his brother talking about really looking at someone’s actions to truly understand, things they say, really paying attention
He soon realized that you weren’t really liking the conversation, your eyes widening after he spoke, slowly returning the comment to him
He whisked over there, honestly just plopping himself in between the two of you, in the (little) empty space
“I, uh, got the food,” He waved it in the air a bit, not spilling it. “You still hungry, babe?”
“Thank you Kaoru, you’re so kind,” You grinned, kissing him on the lips, his cheeks beating up.
“Mhm, let’s go eat somewhere else, just the two of us!”
Mori 💜
Tumblr media
Mori and you weren’t big on doing a bunch of stuff for dates
You both mostly ended up at one another’s house, lounging there, maybe a cafe, who knew
But today he kind of wanted you to watch his practice, he was a bit awkward which you noticed quickly
“Takashi, you okay?” You asked him, tapping his shoulder. “What do you want to do today?”
He wanted to straight out say ‘come watch me practice’ but also didn’t want to be inconsiderate of what you wanted to do
He shrugged his shoulders, cracking his knuckles a bit, hoping you got the sign...?
“You know, I haven’t seen you practiced yet, that could be fun!”
He was beaming inside
So it was set, the two of you planning to meet up at the place he practiced at
It was something nice to do, he worked on his moves for a while, you starting some homework but still watching
One of his partners he worked on some of the skills with sat near you
“Hey, what are you working on?” You two chatted a little, trying to be kind, but you knew he was just trying to speed up the small talk into something more fun, for him
“Anyways, I need to focus,” You told him, standing up and getting prepared to move to a different space
“I think you should take a break, what do you say?”
“I can’t, I have a test tomorrow, need to get this done,”
“Don’t be like that, i’ll help you study after our break,” He was slowly/quickly closing the distance between you two
Mori just finished throwing a man, going to have a drink of water and see how you’re doing, but seeing that ‘opponent’ of his flirting with you?
“Y/n,” He walked up, leaning down to kiss your forehead. “I’m done here, let’s go,”
You nodded, the man across from you shaken up a bit at the stare Mori sent afterwards
Honey 💛
Tumblr media
Honey was babbling about a new cafe that popped up, very VERY excited about it
Apparently it was cute, had a nice seating area, and the BEST cake in town
So, of course, he had to decide that himself
(I think he secretly has a blog online dedicated to trying and critiquing cakes)
He thought this would be a perfect time to catch up and share the lovely moment with
You agreed, wanting to spend time with the boy you liked so much, always enjoying sharing treats with him
After school you both headed right there
The place was nice, and a little packed, since it did just open
You both found a little booth in the back, away from the crowd a bit
Honey ordered, almost, one of every cake they sold
“I’ll just try one of his,” You told the waitress, who looked like her eyes were going to pop out of her head due to Honey’s order
“If you want Y/n-chan!” He smiled at you, soon going into a ramble about one place he bought a bad cake at
Usa-chan also wasn’t pleased with the taste of it
Once a few of the pieces came, he gave you Usa-chan to hold, to make sure he didn’t get dirty
You spent the time, watching him eat cake, feeding him cake, eating some yourself, and chatting about the Host Club
He eventually had to go to the bathroom, telling you he would be right back and to watch Usa-chan
While he left another man came up, figuring you were by yourself
“Aren’t these a lot of treats for you?” He asked, secretly judging you
“I’m sure it’s not your place to decide what’s enough for me,” You scoffed, looking the other way
“And you have a stuffed bear? So cute. Let me buy you something else, for a little kid like you,” He placed some money on the table, trying to reach for Usa-chan
major pedo vibes ....
You moved away from him, not letting his dirty hands touch your boyfriends precious bunny
“Aw come on now,”
“Y/n-chan, let’s go now!” Honey walked over, you climbing out the empty way of the booth, standing near Honey
“Aw you’re here with your brother,” The man cooed, standing up himself.
You grabbed Honey’s hand, not wanting to interact any longer with the man, and leaving the cafe
“Sorry Honey, I- I just really don’t-”
There the man was, he followed the both of you out
He was moving to touch/grab you from behind, Honey quickly noticing and pushing you out of the way a bit
Pulling a classic move, the older man was on the ground
The surrounding crowds were in awe, you were still a bit surprised from his strength sometimes
“That’s not nice, please don’t touch Y/n-chan or I’ll have to call the cops!” He smiled at him, soon grabbing your hand and the two of you walking away like nothing happened

Tall man gets love
Description : Mori was always with Honey. But what happens when they split up for a bit, thankfully Mori will always have his family to help him.
Or in other words, Ouran High School Host Club is perfect for agere stuff and there’s not enough of it on here.
This was my first OHSHC fic and it took me a while to get the courage to write thing but I’m pretty impressed with it. This was very inspired by DannyFANtom and Mcschnuggles who have awesome fics, I really recommend checking them out.
https://archiveofourown.org/works/30654551
Mori was walking the halls looking as if he was in some kind of trance. He looked lost, and confused. As if his mind was off somewhere else. He couldn't find Honey and that made him a little... nervous.
They were always together.
He could feel his mind start to get... fuzzier. It was slowly getting harder to focus on stuff. He tried to remember where he was and where his cousin was but, nothing came to his mind.
So there he was, roaming the hallways after school hours looking for Honey. He vaguely remembers him having to get something from class but he should've been back by now.
That's when his eyes landed on it.
Music room 3.
He gasped. He knew this room! Mori quickly walked towards the music room, taking shaky steps. He was having a hard time focusing on anything. Especially walking.
He felt his mind begging him to be small. It's been a little while which he knew wasn't good.
He tried to regress at least once a week but missed the last few weeks.
The only person who knew was his cousin, Honey. He watched him when he felt small and always took care of him. Kind of like a caregiver...
Mori slowly opened the door trying to be as quiet as possible.
Thankfully all the guests had gone.
Unfortunately, the other hosts where there.
Mori attempted to enter as quietly as possible, not wanting to cause attention to himself, sadly, this never worked.
"Hey, Mori-Senpai!" Haruhi called to him, smiling at him with a little wave. The other hosts smiled and greeted him as well. He smiled a small sad smile at her.
His mouth quivered a bit.
His day had been so stressful so far and he hadn't seen Honey in a long time.
So it's not a surprise that he couldn't keep the tears that fell down his face. His lip quivered as more came.
Seeing all his friends so happy to see him made him want to slip even more.
As hard as he tried, he couldn't help it.
The usually quiet man sat down and put his face in his hands as he cried. The other hosts looked confused and went over to him.
This was concerning since they’ve never seen him like this. So... sad. It was very out of character since usually they would be lucky to get any reaction out of him. He was a man of few words.
"Mori-Senpai. What's wrong?"
"Why are you crying?"
"Where's Honey-Senpai?"
All these questions were beginning to get too much for him.
Mori removed his hands from his face and put them to cover his ears. He tried to block out the noise. His eyes shut tight.
Without him knowing, he felt a gentle hand pressed against his shoulder. Mori gently opened his eyes to see Tamaki placing a hand on his shoulder.
Tamaki was looking down on him, smiling a comforting and reassuring smile to him.
Mori felt himself get calmer. He could feel the tears slowing down as he sniffled. He rubbed his eyes and that's when another hand passed him a tissue.
Looking up again he saw Kyoya with the same type of comforting and reassuring smile that Tamaki had.
Mori wiped his nose and his eyes. He stopped crying. They could tell he was trying to go back to his neutral expressionless face but was struggling a significant amount.
“Senpai? Are you any better?” Haruhi asked him calmly. He gently nodded.
“Why were you so upset before?” Hikaru asked him.
“Yeah, I don’t think I’ve ever seen him like that before.” Kaoru said, nodding in agreement.
Mori only sniffled and wiped his nose a bit.
Even if the other didn’t notice of it right away. Haruhi definitely did. The way he was acting and his expression. As if he was thinking about something else, his mind far away. She doesn’t know why but... he looked so... innocent in her eyes. Almost like a child...
No one was expecting what happened next...
Mori felt so safe at this moment with his family surrounding him that he clung into the closest person.
This, of course, was Tamaki.
He couldn’t help it when he wrapped his arms around the blond and tried to hide his face in his chest. At this point he had fully slipped.
And Tamaki, being the great friend that he is, didn’t hesitate to wrap his arms around him in a loving embrace and whisper soft things into his ear to calm him down.
All the other hosts looked a little confused, but Tamaki made it seem like an every day thing. Comforting him as if he’s done it a thousand times.
Being in the arms of the blonde, it didn’t take him long to calm down. His was no longer freaking out, but even so, he didn’t want to leave his friends embrace.
Out of embarrassment or fear of freaking out again, he wasn’t sure.
That is until another certain blonde came through the door.
Honey looked very worried and concerned.
“Takashi!” He yelled running over to him. Immediately he wrapped his arms around his neck. Mori gently broke off from Tamaki and wrapped his arms around his cousin.
“Mitsukuni...” He mumbled into his hair.
“Is that the reason he got to upset earlier? Because he wasn’t with Honey-Senpai?” Hikaru asked them.
“Yes, I had to go back to my class really fast so I could get one of my books I forgot and I told Takashi to wait for me by the window. He must’ve slipped and forgot about it, so he got scared. I’m just glad he found you guys. Thanks for watching and taking good care of him Tama-Chan!” Honey thanked them smiling gleefully.
Instead of smiling back, the others were rightfully confused.
“Why do you mean Mori-Senpai slipped?”
“Yeah and he’s been away from you before Honey-Senpai, why did it make him so sad now?” The twins asked one after the other.
Tamaki was surprisingly quiet and Kyoya was just waiting for an explanation. He was quite intrigued.
However, before anyone could say anything, Haruhi was the only one to notice what was actually going on.
“Mori-Senpai, how old are you?” She asked gently and softly. She lowered and softened it as if she was talking to a child, which she had a feeling that she was.
Honey gasped then smiled, in all honesty he wasn’t very surprised that Haruhi was the one to figure it out first.
Mori put up three fingers, before switching to two.
Kyoya’s eyes went wide.
He understood now.
“How long have you been?...” He asked, like Haruhi he had softened his voice. He sounded calming and concerned. He really was the mom of the group.
“For a few months now. I help him and watch over him so he doesn’t get hurt.” Honey explained.
“Would you guys please just tell us what you’re talking about? It makes no sense!” Tamaki exclaimed trying not to be too loud since he was right beside Mori.
“Is it ok if I tell them?” Honey asked. Once receiving a head nod from his cousin, he started his explanation.
Mori figured they’d want an explanation anyways, why not just tell them everything.
After all, they were a family.
No.
Wait.
They were his family.
“Takashi is a little.” Honey told them. Mori nodded.
The twins looked confused for a sec before figuring out what he meant.
“A little what?” Tamaki asked.
Everyone started laughing.
Even though it wasn’t that funny, they all thought it was.
“No, Senpai, what he means is that he regresses. To deal with stress.” Haruhi explained to him.
Ohhhhhhh.
It took Tamaki a few seconds before the realization hit him like a truck.
“Ohhhh. Awwww.” He couldn’t help but coo. He vaguely remembered them talking about that and he always thought it was absolutely adorable, and has even considered trying it once or twice but reprimanded himself because it was ‘too childish’. He’d spent so much time trying to convince himself that he shouldn’t, he kinda forgot about it all together.
“Why didn’t he tell us in the first place?” Kaoru asked.
“Probably because he was afraid. Which is understandable, this stuff can be very personal to some people.” Kyoya explained to him who nodded.
“Well now that we do know, if you ever need someone to watch you, we’ll always be available.” Tamaki offered, smiling at the little.
Not used to getting so much attention, Moi started blushing a bit. He didn’t know why he was so nervous to tell his friends, no, his family something like this.
He must’ve been pretty silly if he thought that they would mock him or judge him for this.
“Thank you! I know he doesn’t really express it often, but I know he’s very happy to have you guys as friends and that are willing to help him.” Honey told them. And in all honesty, he was happy too. Happy that his friends were so open and accepting for them.
“Well we’re a family, families help each other. Now, how about we get some snacks, I bet everyone’s a little hungry.” Tamaki suggested. They others all agreed and started making their way towards the food.
Mori and Honey walked hand in hand. Like they should be.
“I’m sorry I left you alone when you were small. I promise it won’t happen again.” Honey apologized. He felt a little guilty about it.
“Iss ok.” Mori said softly. It wasn’t like his usual voice. This one definitely made him sound like a child.
They smiled at each other before joining the others.
Mori was glad he told them.
And now, he felt closer to them than ever before.

“Welcome~”
The Ouran host club was open for business, much like everyday, and the king was gliding around the room, dazzling the costumers. The hosts seemed to be in high spirits, there was no particular reason as to why, that day just seemed to bring a certain happiness to everyone. Well, almost everyone. Hikaru let out another disdainful sigh as he sat on the windowsill, watching crowds of students below mingle.
He didn’t get it, why wasn’t it working. His charms had never failed him before, well except with Haruhi, but that was different. Sure he had liked her once upon a time, but...this, it felt like his heart was breaking every time he was shut down. Hikaru didn’t think the boy was doing it on purpose, he probably didn’t even understand that Hikaru liked him. Y/N wasn’t just a game for him, he wasn’t a toy like everyone else. He was special, he was beautiful, and he was going to be his.
“Um, excuse me? Hikaru? Are you okay? We brought you some cake if you’d like? It’s strange when you’re not happy and playing with Kaoru,” one of his guests questioned, approaching as if he were a wounded animal ready to strike. He glanced over at her before letting another sigh slip from his lips. His face then broke out in a grin as he made his way over to Kaoru.
“I’m sorry, ladies. I didn’t mean to be so depressing during our time together, let me make it up to you!”
The guests squealed after his sentence, watching in awe as he turned his brothers gaze to face his own. Their look of pure love cause a few girls to faint from happiness. Truth be told, the girls disgusted Hikaru. They were so loud and obnoxious, all they wanted was to see him and his brothers “forbidden love.” What a load of crap. He couldn’t wait for club hours to finish for the day.
Once club hours ended Hikaru reclaimed his spot at the window. He knew he had to make Y/N his but he wasn’t sure how. He knew he couldn’t rely on Kaoru for this, if he wanted Y/N to like him he knew he would have to flirt on his own. But, none of his usual methods were working; was Y/N just not into him? He quickly shook his head, no he couldn’t think like that. Maybe he just wasn’t being clear enough. That had to be it! Hikaru started to feel his spirits lift. Starting tomorrow he was going to woo Y/N for sure.

Y/N made his way towards his class the next day, eyes downcast as not to draw attention to himself. His thoughts always trailed back to one thing, what’s for dinner tonight. He entered the classroom with that thought on his mind, not noticing the lone orange haired twin seated at Y/N’s desk. Looking up to set his bag down, he finally recognized that there was someone in his seat.
“Huh?”
The short boy was so confused; did the seating arrangement change? Wait, was Hikaru even in this class? No, he wasn’t, Hikaru is in class A, Y/N is in class B...what’s this guy even doing here? Maybe Y/N was in the wrong room? It’s possible, he wasn’t exactly looking where he was going, maybe he stepped into the wrong classroom?
Y/N’s thoughts were interrupted by an arm being slung over his shoulder.
“Hey there, chibi-chan~”
What is happening? Why is he here? Why’s he touching me?
All these thoughts raced through the boy’s head before Hikaru cleared his throat, once again interrupting Y/N’s thoughts.
“You come here often?”
What the hell, Hikaru, is that the best you’ve got? Hikaru forced a cheesy grin, looking down at the shorter boy.
“Uh? Yes? I mean...it’s my classroom. Aren’t you in the wrong room, Hikaru-kun?”
“I-uh...I just-uh, nothing!”Hikaru quickly retracted his arm from around Y/N’s shoulders, a frown now settling on his lips, "doesn’t even matter, you’re too plain to understand anyways.”
“Um...okay?”
Y/N sat in his chair, watching in confusion as Hikaru visibly turned more upset.
Was Hikaru just not good enough? Was Y/N just playing dumb to get him to leave him alone? Why wasn’t anything working? A type of panic settled in Hikaru’s chest as he thought of the possiblity that maybe, Y/N just didn’t like him. He never reacted to any of his lines and always seemed so uncomfortable around him. Maybe...maybe Y/N didn’t like him.
As that thought hit him, class B’s teacher walked in, immediately spotting him seeing as he was not one of her students.
“Hitachiin-kun, could you please go to your own classroom?” she asked politely, not wanting to potentially piss off an rich heir.
Hikaru scowled and turned on his heel facing away from Y/N, "didn’t wanna be here anyways. Hmph!” Then like a toddler, he stormed out of the classroom in anger and sadness.
Y/N was left at his desk, staring at the empty doorway Hikaru had left through.
“What...What just happened?” he whispered to himself.
Meanwhile, Hikaru made his way down the hall, his entire demeanor screamed depressed. As he passed people, there were sure that he was in fact growing mushrooms out of his body.
In a sudden movement, he stopped, his face holding a new found determination. He would talk to Y/N after school, no he was going to confess! Yes! He was so tired of messing up and Y/N not getting his feelings, it was time to confess!

After the school day had ended, Hikaru busted his ass to get to the host club. Throwing open the doors panting, he doubled over, exhausted. Kaoru, walking up beside him calmly, frowned placing a hand on his shoulder.
“Hikaru? What’s gotten into you? I could barely keep up!”
“I’m not coming to club today, I have something very important to take care of!”
After his exclamation, he once again ran off, tearing down the halls of the school in search of the short boy plaguing his thoughts.
Tamaki pouted, "If we don’t have our twin package...then what’s the point of club today? Let’s follow him and see what that shady twin is up to!” Kaoru rolled his eyes at the name but crossed his arms and nodded in agreement anyways.
The host club quickly followed Hikaru out of the room, though they didn’t really get the idea of covertly following him. They watched as Hikaru burst into a classroom, then slouch dejectedly before shaking his head in determination. He then ran down the hall towards the official club rooms.
Hikaru burst into the ____ club, searching for the short boy.
“Oh, sorry, excuse me! Does anyone here know where L/N-San is?”
“Uh...yeah? He just went to the roof to get some supplies from the shed. Would you like to wait for him here?”
“No, thank you! I’ll be on my way then!”
After that he slammed the door are tore off running to the staircase leading to the roof.
“Okay, then?”
The host’s meanwhile were whispering among themselves.
“Who’s L/N-San?”
“Isn’t he that short guy in class 1-B?”
“L/N, Y/N. First year here at ouran academy. His mother and father are of the L/N group. They are not as prominent a family as ours are but they still hold a high standing. His grades are average as are his looks, the one thing that is striking about him is his height. It seems that he is below average height at around 154cm (5’0”),” Kyoya explained, looking up from his black book afterwards, a glint shining off his glasses.
“So he’s completely average, except for his height, what does that have to do with Hikaru?”
“It seems to me...if I may, that Hitachiin-kun might have a crush on him,” a voice spoke from behind the hosts, startling them from the huddle. A first year girl stood at the door to Y/N’s club, "he comes to our class almost every day to talk to Y/N...he tried to use his hosting tactics or whatever on him, but Y/N is kind of dense...so he doesn’t really notice. But Hitachiin-kun hasn’t given up yet. It seems to me that he’s gone to confess to him...but that’s just a theory.”
The hosts thanked the girl before making their way to the roof where they froze when they saw Hikaru standing in front of a small yet relatively cute boy.
“Hey there, shorty.”
Y/N tensed, turning to look at the taller boy behind him.
“Hitachiin-kun, how can I help you?”
“I was looking for you,” Hikaru breathed. It was then that Y/N seemed to notice how out of breath Hikaru actually was.
“Uh, have you been running?”
“No! That-that’s not important! Don’t be dumb!”
Y/N flinched, frowning causing Hikaru to grimace.
“Ah wait, no, I didn’t mean that-“
“Why are you always so mean to me?” Tears started to well up in the shorter boys eyes cause Hikaru to flinch. Y/N reached up, wiping the wettness away from his eyes, "I don’t get it, all I’ve ever been to you is nice, yet you call me names all the time and harass me in my class room! If you came here to bully me then just leave! I’m sick of it!”
Tamaki frowned as he watched from the doorway alongside the other hosts, "I can’t believe he made him cry, what kind of host makes their love interest cry!” He moved to jump out and yell at the orange haired twin before he was grabbed by both Haruhi and Kaoru.
“Just let it play out boss,” Kaoru reasoned, watching his brother intently.
“Y/N...I-“
“No!” The short boy cut him off, "just leave me alone.” He then turned away from Hikaru, going back to the storage shed to get his supplies.
“Y/N-Kun, listen to me, please. You don’t even have to listen, just let me say this...I’m sorry for everything I’ve said to you. I know you might hate me for the things I say, I really don’t mean anything rude by it. I just...I have a hard time expressing myself, you know? It’s always been just me and Kaoru, so when I realized that I have feelings that might bring someone else into that mix, I got nervous and said stupid things. Irrational things. I was trying to be like suave or whatever but I just ended up making things worse. I was really just trying to flirt with you honestly, I-“
“Wait...flirting with me? Hold on, stop right there,” Y/N put a hand up, facing Hikaru once more. Thousands of thoughts and questions started racing through his head all at once, "a-are you saying that you like me?”
“W-well...uh, I mean, I-uh...”
Y/N started to giggle through his tears, wiping their face again before bursting into a fit of laughter. Hikaru last face showed a look of mild embarrassment as well as sadness, almost betrayal as the boy continued to laugh.
“So you’re telling me this whole time, you’ve been trying to flirt with me? I-wow, okay, I guess I really am oblivious, heh. I’m sorry Hikaru-kun for not noticing...I really thought you were trying to bully me.”
“I-so, okay, you get it now though, right? So, uh...no, I mean, do you...um, do you like me back?” Hikaru’s face was the color of a tomato as he rambled through his sentence, one of his hands coming to cover his mouth in embarrassment.
“You’re so dumb, Hikaru-kun,” Y/N answered and pulled him down in an attempt to kiss him. Instead he only reached Hikaru’s chin leading to an awkward peck to his under chin. This caused Y/N’s face to explode in color, embarassed about his height and the kiss itself.
“So...I’m gonna take that as a yes, then?”
“Yes, Hikaru...it’s a yes, I do like you...I do have a request though...”
“Anything!”
“Can you stop calling me short? It hurts my feelings.”
“Of course, chibi-chan~” Hikaru cooed at his now lover. Y/N pouted, lightly punching Hikaru’s arm.
“WOO! WAY TO GO HIKARU!” Tamaki shouted from the door. The two boy’s heads whipped to see who’s voice it was before Hikaru started to speed walk angrily away from Y/N towards the other hosts.
“I’ll give you three seconds to explain...”
Meanwhile, Y/N once again wears his normal expression of complete and absolute confusion.

Shadow boy
Day six of @ohshc-week : childhood friends/lovers or first/last kiss
Mrs Ootori was known for her love of fashion, every time there was an event, she wore a new, custom made dress. It just so happened that there was a huge event soon, with people all over the world, the who's who of the global medical industry- and top scientists too. Her only duty was to hang off of her husband's arm and look pretty, but she always made it her mission to show him up. Because of this, she'd enlisted the help of Yuzuha Hitachiin to make her a stunning new gown.
Yuzuha knew her well, having made previous gowns for her- they weren't friends persay, Mrs Ootori was too stuck up for that, but Yuzuha liked to bring her son's with her whenever she came. Mrs Ootori had many sons, one of which was only a year older than her boys.
The twin sought out the shadow boy out, they did this every time, they wanted to know more about him- he was a mystery. Today they'd found their way into the library, not being able to read yet, they ignored the books in exchange for searching for their favourite mystery. They found him in the fiction section, fitting for such a mystery.
The shadow boy never liked the light much, he preferred the darkness and shade. His hair was as dark as the woman their mother helped, but his eyes weren't brown like hers, they were a shimmering silver- the twins had almost thought he was monochrome when they first found him. The boy smiled when he noticed them, standing and approaching them, stopping on the border of the shadows.
The twins smiled back, they were holding hands, but let go to run forward towards their friend, "shadow boy! Hello!" He'd never told them his name, he'd never actually spoken to him either, he was silent in his friendship. He didn't let them touch him either, so they gave him an air-hug.
He showed them a ladder, and led them up on top of the bookshelves, it was dark up here, and the twins and their shadow friend had to crawl, he wanted to show them something- he always wanted to show them something.
He led the twins through a vent, it was a large one, big enough for all of them… they were only three, and their shadow friend was four… it didn't take that big of a vent to hold them all. When they got out of the vent, they were in an office, make-up on one side table, paperwork on another. The desk was a vanity, the computer was new and shiny.
The twins looked around, their eyes already adjusted to the darkness, but Kaoru had brought a torch, making sure to avoid getting the shadow boy with it. They couldn't read, but by the images and make-up, the twins understood that this was Mrs Ootori's office. They wondered why the shadow boy would bring them here, what purpose did they have here?
But the shadow boy grabbed a stool, dragging it over to a wall, reaching up and going to grab a book. He brought it down to show them, placing it on the floor. Kaoru carefully trained his torch on it, it was a book; a big, leather bound, storybook. Hikaru was the one who opened the book, "woah… this is awesome!"
Kaoru nodded, noticing how the shadow boy smiled, "yeah! Amazing! Do you want us to read the voices? Our maids do that for us." The boy's eyes lit up, and the twins both saw his hands ball up happily, he nodded at them, almost silently gasping- the loudest sound they'd heard from him.
The twins once again, couldn't read- it seemed the shadow boy hadn't realised yet. His surprised expression when the twins made up their own dialogue based on the images, making it much funnier then the stories actually were- at least in their opinion; they'd given the villain a horrible voice, made the princess sound like an old man, and their worst offence of all; they gave the prince charming the squeakiest voice they could muster.
This upset the shadow boy.
He'd stood up, turning and hammering on the door until a maid unlocked it for him, the maid asked him how he got in there, since the door was locked. This surprised the twins- other people could see their shadow friend? This was news to them, they didn't think he could be seen. But he didn't seem to see her, running past, completely ignoring the light he was so usually avoidant of.
The twins gave chase, they'd never see their shadow friend so upset- they've seen him cry, sure, but never run straight into the light, he hated the light. So they ran, calling out for their shadow friend to stop, trying to ask what's wrong. After a few seconds, and corridors, later, the twins realise that their friend is headed towards the room where their mother and Mrs Ootori were- and Mrs Ootori was famed for her temper, so they were scared what would happen.
He burst into the room, clearly more terrified than sad by how bright the room was, running to the side of Mrs Ootori and clinging to her, sobbing into her gown. The twins entered soon after, pausing at this sight. All eyes were now on them; their mother looked alarmed, and Mrs Ootori looked furious. "What did you do to my baby?"
She had asked them a simple question, commanding and demeaning- but the twins weren't listening, they didn't care about her dumb status. "That's not your baby, that's our shadow friend!" They huffed in unison, Hikaru hopping up to turn the light off as Kaoru switched the torch on.
Both adults were surprised by both the words and the actions of the twins, Mrs Ootori was even more angered by this. She stomped forward, knocking the shadow boy to the floor- who quickly got up and hid under a table, hands over his head. Mrs Ootori, she must have been around six foot, she towered over the boys, glaring, "how dare you! My son is no one's shadow!" The twins were shaking now, having never been yelled at like this by an adult before, the woman continued; "have you been bullying him?? Why is he crying?"
"Leave my sons alone!" Their mother snapped at her, "they haven't done anything to deserve getting screamed at, they're kids for heaven's sake!" The twins mother was an angel, she stood up to the demon woman, standing and glaring.
The demon scoffed, "oh no wonder they're such brats if you never yell at them! I yell at my sons all the time and they all turn out perfectly." The twins both bristle at the idea of this monster yelling at their poor sweet shadow friend, this demon was terrifying.
They'd blocked that day out of their memory.
Losing their first friend, being yelled at for the first time, their mother had gotten so frustrated she'd punched her mannequin… they didn't want to remember it; so they didn't.
Years later, they had friends, real friends- nothing like the ghost of that old mansion. They had Honey-senpai and Mori-senpai, who sat in the corner making tea and coffee. They had Haruhi, who was watching everything with a tired but lovable expression. They had Tamaki… who was being an idiot, he was floundering around, crying about something or other Haruhi had said.
"My darling daughter hates me! Oh woe is I!"
The twins snickered at that, rolling their eyes. Tamaki must have noticed that, because he gasped, looking at them, "how dare you mock my misery! What's so funny about a daughter hating her father?"
Hikaru raised an eyebrow at that, "oh come on boss…" he and Kaoru shared a glance, before looking back at Tamaki, putting on the fake whining voice used to mock stupid people; "ooh~ my darling daughter hates me! Oh woe- oh woe is I~!"
There was a scoff from behind them, from a table not far back, Kyoya was rolling his eyes, "what is it with you two and giving princes squeaky voices?" He had chuckled to himself, but the question had made the twins freeze… Kyoya was right, they did use that voice for all princes, and had since they were little. But there was no way for Kyoya to know that, only the twins' family had heard them read stories, family and- oh. Oh.
"Wh!" The twins span around at lightning speed, looking at Kyoya with wide eyes, "You were the shadow boy??"
This got the other hosts' attention fast, though Kyoya just raised an eyebrow, "you weren't aware? I did wonder why you started out just as distant to me as you were with Tamaki," he chuckled lightly, actually smiling slightly, "I know you were four but please; a year older than you, we were always at my house, your mother did the gowns for mine- what other conclusion could you have come to?"
The twins… felt a little stupid at that, but Hikaru admitted to their belief, "we honestly thought you were a ghost, hence the whole 'shadow boy' thing…"
"A ghost?" Kyoya seemed to find the whole thing amusing, and the twins noticed how the light reflected off of his her black hair, how the light made his eyes shine behind his glasses… why had he used to hate it so? "I suppose your little nickname fits now, what with people referring to me as the 'shadow king', seems I've gotten a promotion." He had paused, and the twins glanced around to see the confusion in the other hosts' faces, but they didn't matter right now, not in the face of their shadow friend. "Why did you believe me to be a spirit?"
"Oh that's easy!" Kaoru smiled, beginning to list of all the reason their shadow friend was different; "you always hid in dark spaces, never came out to play anywhere bright, we never saw you anywhere but the mansion, you were never there when we arrived, we always had to go searching for you, you always had something to show us, it was always a secret- plus you never once spoke to us dude, you didn't ever even introduce yourself the entire time."
Hikaru spoke up at that, looking thoughtful, "why did you never speak the whole time we knew you?"
Kyoya paused at that, "oh, well some people have- ...things, that they can't do properly, and sometimes those things are amplified by situations, but like a lot of things, they can be learnt from, and moved past," he stopped for a moment, before nodding to himself, "yes, I had quite a bit of trouble with speaking when I was younger, it's nothing to be ashamed of personally, but some people are ashamed of me nonetheless." Was that a joke..? That was a really sad joke, the twins didn't quite know how to take it.
They didn't have to respond though, as Honey hopped over towards them, "wow Kyo-chan! Do you have the same fear as Nekozawa-chan?"
Kyoya shook his head, "well I did when I was five, I grew out of it by the time I was around six or seven, I couldn't have been able to do all too well in school otherwise." He shrugs, going back to his book, "either way, you never answered my question about the voices, why do you insist on such dreadful voices for prince characters?"
The twins had to shrug at that, smiling, "we just think it's funny."
"Well I still don't, it's rather immature. But at least it isn't in a moment of vulnerability this time," and with that, the conversation was over, Kyoya clearly wasn't going to respond to further questioning, so everyone went back to how they were before.
But not Kaoru, Kaoru got closer to Kyoya's table, hands resting on it in fact, "out of curiosity, do you still have that book?"
Kyoya just nodded, "I've had it since I was a baby, it'd be a shame to throw it out now."
Kaoru nodded slowly, a mischievous smirk growing on his face, "and how would you feel if I read you the stories again, using proper voices this time?" He watched Kyoya pause, glancing up at him but clearly not wanting Kaoru to know he's looking, so Kaoru does something even more daring; he winks.
Kyoya chuckles lightly at that, "as long as we can have the lights off."
It was a funny feeling; Kyoya having been his first friend. The idea that this money grubbing mastermind was once his sweet shadow friend, the silent, always watching shadow king- he was once actually silent. He remembers first joining the club, looking at Kyoya and wondering why Tamaki hung out with such an asshole, before realising he and Hikaru were also assholes and that this must be, like, Tamaki's hobby or something. But about a month in Kaoru was wondering why Kyoya hung out with Tamaki, Kyoya was of a much higher calibre- and he knew it. Though it was clear he considered Tamaki to be superior, even though Tamaki's only real power was as club president- and family-wise too Kaoru supposed.
They were sitting in the dark now, Kaoru had a torch- it wasn't the same torch, that old thing was long gone- but it felt the same… yet somehow completely different. They were older now, they knew who they were a little more, Kyoya could speak now- he could audibly react to the things Kaoru was saying, he could laugh… Kaoru loved that laugh, he'd only ever heard Kyoya chuckle before, his laugh was wonderful; it was a full on villain laugh, but not a cackle, not anything malicious, just a genuine powerful laugh, the kind you'd see of a kid villain- but not the bratty kind. It was also different because Kaoru was here of his own accord, every time he'd visited the Ootori mansion before he'd been dragged there by someone else, this time he was he because he'd decided to be- and he was here without Hikaru.
Kaoru had just finished reading the third story in the book; Cinderella- but at some point, Kyoya had taken a pen, and changed all of Cinderella's pronouns to his own- he'd done that for every character that was his favourite in each story. The ending was always different if he wasn't the princess, his favourite always got a prince of their own- even when it wasn't the main prince. Kaoru found it amusing, if a little concerned, was it reflected of the chances he had with Kyoya? After all; they already had a prince character, and Kaoru wasn't charming at all.
He glanced to his side, Kyoya was completely relaxed, somehow having slid under the covers of the bed without Kaoru having noticed, he truly was a shadow wasn't he? "You're going to get cold like that, you should copy me." Oh, he wanted Kaoru to get into bed with him? Well Kaoru was never one to turn down an offer like that, especially if it was completely innocent- he loved a good cuddle.
Surprisingly enough, Kyoya had actually leaned into him halfway through the princess and the frog, mouthing the words along as Kaoru had said them, how sweet… But when Kaoru got to a line that read: 'but I'm only a small frog, who would ever kiss me?', he heard Kyoya mutter words verbally- but a little different to how it was written…
"...but I'm only a shadow, who would ever kiss me..?"
Kaoru paused, knowing he wasn't meant to hear that, but maybe he was meant to hear it… it sounded like fate. He did it without thinking; he tilted Kyoya's head up and gave him a gentle kiss on the lips, before muttering back, "you'll find your prince someday…"
He knew there was no chance of getting with Kyoya, it was safe to assume the shadow had his eyes on a prince already- Kaoru was nowhere near being a prince. But just one kiss, a stolen one at that- if that was all he got, he was happy with that, he didn't need anything special-
"...I don't think I even want a prince anymore…" Kyoya hadn't moved even an inch from the position Kaoru had put him in, but the moment Kaoru looked down at him, Kyoya got up onto his knees. He looked at Kaoru with something Kaoru had only ever seen in girls before, just before their hearts were shattered… "I want to be a shadow boy forever."
Oh. It was Kaoru's heart that felt something painful, but it was a good pain- like his heart had taken a sharp gasp of its own accord. He smiled softly, putting the book down- but not closing it, and turning his torch off, it was pitch black now. "You… are so much more than a shadow boy now, Kyoya- you're a shadow king, it's not some dumb title. It's your truth… and I love the truth."
It wasn't a love confession, Kaoru couldn't do those, and neither could Kyoya- they were simply both too closed off and quiet to express themselves without the aid of their respective extroverts assistance, though Kaoru realised Hikaru was definitely more of an ambivert at this point. It might not have been a confession of love, but it was a confession of something alright, and they kissed, more than just a quick stolen one- this kiss was real, this kiss was warm, and it tasted of coffee…
They broke the kiss after a while, sitting in pitch black as they sat in silence. Neither of them wanted to speak, so they didn't. Kaoru wanted to know the time, but he didn't want to check his phone, so he sat there, wondering. It was clearly dark, from the little he could see of the outside, from the windows downstairs, so he could be forgiven if he fell asleep here…
The book had been moved, and so had the torch, Kaoru hadn't even noticed. He now glanced down at Kyoya who was laying down, looking up at him, and the little light present reflected in his eyes- though Kaoru couldn't see much else of him at all. Instead of seeing, Kaoru felt, realising how Kyoya was allowing him to touch now, the shadow boy would have always been too scared to even high five, Kyoya let Kaoru rest a hand on his hip as he lay down- Kyoya had let Kaoru kiss him. Soon, they were laying down next to each other; facing each other, Kaoru noticed how Kyoya shuffled closer, bowing his head slightly but leaving it to Kaoru to close the gap, to cuddle him.
Kaoru was the smaller of the two, but Kyoya was the one resting his head near Kaoru's chest, though the shadow boy had always been soft- Kaoru couldn't blame him, or complain in the slightest. It was strange to be sleeping next to someone other than Hikaru, but it was nice- completely different though: with Hikaru they'd squabble over who had the most cover, over who got to sleep what side, they rarely cuddled- contrary to popular belief, plus they only really held hands when they could do it comfortably. But with Kyoya, Kaoru found himself making sure Kyoya had enough blanket, he found himself almost cradling the taller boy as if was prone to shatter at any moment, he even found himself humming one of the many disney songs he'd learnt the tube to through osmosis, he was fairly sure this was a love song- either way it was relaxing and sweet.
He remembered being shown this room, though there was a fortress here then, made of cardboard and plastic and paint, a safe haven that the shadow boy had loved to show to the twins, though he'd gotten visibly upset when Hikaru had tried to climb over the walls instead of using the door. Kaoru remembered this fondly, glancing down to realise that said shadow boy had fallen asleep in his arms. Kaoru then allowed himself to stop humming, yawning and nuzzling Kyoya's hair before settling his head down on the pillow, quickly drifting off to a funny thought that made him feel fuzzy inside:
It was a funny feeling; Kyoya having been his first friend and his first kiss.

Meeting with a side of friendship//OHSHC
Tamaki
The only reason you were at this school was because of a scholarship you didn’t want to waste.
You wouldn’t even be here if it wasn’t worth so much. By the first week, you met the Host Club.
Your favorite host was Mori, you could appreciate I quiet man with a powerful aura.
But Suoh was… interesting, not because of his ‘princely’ and dumbass demeanor but because he was honestly the definition of mysterious.
You could be overthinking it but there is no way that this is all he has going for him. It was from then on you decided to stick around to 1. See if you’re right and if there is anything else happening with him 2. Honestly he was a good friend and you could tell by the way he talked to everyone Tamaki he easily accepted you into his life so you became friends.
You also love how much of a dumbass he is.
Honestly you match energy well, s
Kyoya
You met randomly in the middle of the school year when you and your dumbass friends decided to play Hide and Seek Tag.
You instantly started running once they started counting and you just freaking ran (quickly walked for me) without thinking.
You ended up on the other side of the school next to a music room and met the host club that faithful day.
You were quickly clingy to Kyoya, not as bad as Renge but enough to annoy him, like Tamaki.
You guys never became friends officially you kinda just stuck around and he kinda just accepted the fact you weren’t gonna leave.
You consider him your best friend and Kyoya considers you to be... a little more than a client a little less than a friend(??)
The Hitachiin Twins(that’s right we’re doing poly mah boys)
You always held your feelings together and never really had a problem with your emotions.
You always tried to think logically and keep it together cause it’s what you’ve known but everyone knows how emotional you can be.
And today WAS NOT a good day, you we’re having a hell of a hard time. You were randomly wanting to start crying and throwing things in the middle of class, it was bad.
You were eating right, you were hydrated, you weren’t on your period, nothing was making sense that day or even week.
You quickly left class and just stayed in a supplies closet for a half an hour quietly crying to yourself. The door opened and you saw two boys, twins, just looking at you completely shocked.
You stood up to quickly leave but they quickly started asking questions. You explained to them that you were just having a bad day and was looking for a place not to be embarrassed.
But oh how that worked. They laughed at that and then for the rest of the day hung out with you trying to make you laugh.
You quickly became friends. All you know is that as soon as you met them, all logic you have ever known was out the window.
Mori
Well, to put it lightly you were weak. Like super weak… and short (about as tall as Haruhi so you decided to join karate. Good right?
Nope. Your first and only thing to do was to break a board (You know those kids board that literally take 10 pounds and a little bit of pressure?) and no matter what you did, how much force, what people told you to do, and no matter what board, you just couldn’t break one.
You were jumping on it, kicking it, hitting it and everything, nothing was working.
Although it was fun for the day you were there you decided karate was not for you.
You did, however, become best friends with the hottest guy and the two strongest people you knew.
The thing was you were always so full of energy, like honey took naps but you didn’t. Takashi has tried to get you to but to no avail.
It’s like you on a sugar rush 24/7. He doesn’t understand how when someone has as much energy as you do how they can be so… petite.
He’s always looking out for you none the less. And despite many accusations he honestly has fun and enjoys watching out for his cousin and all of his friends too.
Haruhi
You weren't friends but you've known the host club for a while.
You visited every so often so when all of the sudden there was a new member you got SUPER curious.
When you first requested them you both just kinda... sat there. Like, what were you supposed to say?? You were a weeb and geek so there was no way you could start a convo with out fangirling.
Luckily they started “So... Why dont you wear a uniform?” I smile, “Cause I don’t appreciate being confused for a monkeys lunch.” They chuckle.
Luckily the interaction wasn't ba at all. At first it was awkward but by the end, if there was silence, it was a comfortable one.
By the end you learned that they go mostly by she/they pronouns though that was a ‘secret’ between you too. So he/him in front of other people.
You also learned you have a potential friend, and you are super excited to see them again.

OHSHC- Askings Each Other Out
Tumblr media
Tamaki
It was two months into knowing him and you were endlessly flirting with him and each and every pick up line was going STRAIGHT OVER HIS HEAD. Like seriously this guy is the embodiment of r/Woooosh. When ever you did anything to give him a clue the you like him he would either ask you what you mean, ignore it, or say something completely different. At least that's what you thought. You talked to Kyoya about it cause it was annoying the duck out of you. Welp when you told him he closed his book rubbed his temples and sighed "Just tell him." You looked at him awhile and then sighed yourself realizing he was right. So then after a while of trying to ask him out, face turning red, stuttering, and him thinking you meant going to town with the whole host club you just gave up. Two weeks later Kyoya explained to Tamaki what you meant and he instantly apologized profusely hoping you'd give him a chance. You did if course you just felt a lot happier now.
Kyoya
It was a month and a half and you never actually told him but you knew he knew and he knew you knew. You never hid it and you were very touchy with him, never sexually though. You always were touchy unless he was in a bad mood. You always hugged him, sat in his lap, held his hand, and always his behind him when you were shy or scared. He didn't mind as long as you kept quite when he was doing paperwork and you didn't stop him from having his fun. Most of the time people just assumed you were dating. It wasn't until the Twins asked what you were to each-other that neither of you answered and you both just gave each other a side glance and a shrugged. You kinda just silently agreed you were a thing before so now you have to actually talk about it. Which Kyoya will have fun with.
The Hitachiin Twins
Now y'all have been friends for about 6 months. Your as close to those two, as those two are to each other. You have a serious crush on the both of them but you've been ignoring it for the facts that; polygamy relationships aren't very well looked upon, you don't even know if they like you back, logically people only like one person. Maybe it was platonic and you were confusing yourself?? They are twins, they're your friends and for the fact that they work as a host a would cause multiple problems client wise. So you talked to Kyoya and Tamaki about becoming the first official hostess and expanding it. Those two agreed buttttt Hikaru and Kaoru were pissed when they learned that you were joining as a hostess. At the end of the day the two dragged you to a private room where they corned you to a wall and were on either sides of you, Kabedon to the max. Them confronting you had your heart beating so loudly you were sure they could hear it (Doki Doki??). You're face completely red, not making eye contact, stuttering. It actually gave them both relief you were acting like this so they can confess. Now your dating secretly and all three of you are working as a host(ess).
Mori
Mori kept distracting you so you wouldn't bother all the host from working during a meeting. You were pretty much a kid. What seemed to work the most though was to give you his hand and you would just like quietly play with it. You thought you were already a couple so you had no problem holding his hand and sitting in his lap. While he had all sorts of doubt cause you never actually said anything you being your forgetful, naive and short attention span self. It wasn't until you were talking with Haruhi and she asked whether or not you two were together realizing he needed that clarification. You said 'Duh' which let Mori give out a sigh of relief and griping your hand. You realized why he sighed and gave him a lop sided smile while giving him an oops.
Honey
Hi! Would you like some sweets? I have strawberry cake

Host (Chapter 1, Part 1)
I’m sort of getting back in to the OHSHC fandom again. It was my first anime that I watched, but it’s been forever
Tumblr media
Its a new day, but the first day of a new school. Your new school, well, is the top of the top. Not only with smart students, but also filthy rich people. You, are not rich. You can’t even afford a proper uniform, so you go in the nicest thing you can find. It’s basically just ripped jeans and a sweatshirt. Your hair makes you look like a boy, but it was still nice. You get your bag ready and straighten up your outfit.
At the front of the school, the cherry blossom petals seem like they are having a ball, floating in the air like that. Instead of the petals, the first thing you see is the huge clock tower. You gasp at the beauty and the sun shining on the top of it. You get distracted while walking and fall on the ground. “Ah shoot!” You scream and everyone looks at you. “Hey! Are you okay?” You hear a voice behind you. Oh, there’s a girl there. “Yeah I’m fine.” She helps you with your stuff and gives it to you. “You didn’t have to help me you know.” “Well, I’m guessing that you are new here. I’m Haruhi Fugioka.” The short haired girl smiled. “I’m Y/N.” You return the smile. “Where are you off to, Haruhi?” You dust yourself off and she gives you your stuff. “Oh, I’m off to the host club. I had to get some coffee and snacks.” The both of you started to walk. “Uhm, Haruhi?” “Yeah?” “Is it okay that I know that you are a girl?” Haruhi smiles slightly and nods. “It’s fine, but don’t tell anyone. I know you are a girl too, but I’m not going to tell the other hosts.” You start to ask her questions about the club and school.
“This is where the club is. Now, I want you to feel welcomed, so I’ll call for you when we are ready. Again, I won’t tell them that you are a girl.” She winks and closes the door. Now you are stuck in the middle of an empty hallway, in front of an abandoned music room. “Is the host club just a place where you can find extra help with school work?” You ask your self. Haruhi knocks on the door, so you open it. Rose petals blow on your face and you hear a group say, “welcome” in unison. Once you see the full group, your heart stopped. Why are these good looking men in here? “Oh my, it seems like we have a new host.” A blonde haired guy with purple eyes walks up to you, making you feel tiny. “Good day sir. I may welcome you to the Ouran High School Host Club. I am the president, Tamaki Suoh.” You start to get nervous and slowly back away. “Oh- Uhm- Nice to meet you?” Your back hits a person and you tense up. “I am Kyoya Ootori. I am delighted to see you in our club.” Your face turns into a deep shade of red. “Aww look Kaoru. Our new guest is blushing.” You look around trying to find Haruhi, but it felt like your vision is blurring from the panic attack. “Why, he’s worse than me.” Twins pop up in front of you and you fall on the floor. “Y/N! Are you okay?” Haruhi helps you up. “Y-yeah I’m fine. I wasn’t expecting that I would act like that.” She smiles and takes you to a table in the corner.
Haruhi tells you the story on how she became a host and her first impressions. It felt nice knowing that you weren’t the only one who reacted like that. “I think that I need to introduce myself more formally.” “Hey Y/N chan. Are you okay?” You flinch at the sudden, cute voice. You look down and see a boy with big eyes and a bunny plush. Behind him was a taller, quiet man. “I’m Honey, and this is Mori Takashi.” Honey bounces up and down. You smile at his cuteness. “Nice to meet you two. I am going to introduce myself properly to everyone. All of you go to the front of the room. The hosts look at you. “Hello, my name is Y/N and I am the new honors student.” You bow down and start to get shy again. “Why, I am glad that you calmed down. Hey, Kyoya. Do you mind if you can find our new host a uniform?” You widen your eyes. “Yes. I’ll be right back.” Kyoya walks away to find a uniform for you. He comes back and takes you to the dressing room. Why does he seem like he knows your real gender? You change into the uniform and sit back down at the table you were at. Many girls come your way. “Hey, I’ve never seen you before. Are you a new host?” You look at them and smile. “Yes I am. I’m still in training though. I don’t even know what I am doing?” You stand up and walk to Haruhi. “You should really teach me how to be a host.”
“Well I’m still learning myself. You should ask some of the other hosts.” You slowly look at Tamaki, who is surrounded by girls. “Is it usually like this daily?” “Yes, it is always like that.” You roll your eyes and walk to Tamaki. “Tamaki, who is that walking our way.” Tamaki looks at you. “Why he is our new host. This is Y/N.” You smile slightly. “Tamaki, can I talk to you for a bit?” He nods his head. “Tamaki, where are you going.” One of the girls asked. “I have to help our new host. Don’t worry. I will always keep you in my mind.” The girls squeal and go head over heels from his statement. Oh great. You walk away with Tamaki. “You didn’t tell me how I can be a good host.” You cross your arms over your chest. “A good host comes within your personality. What do you like to do in your free time?” Tamaki asks with a prince like voice. “Well, I do like drawing.” He caresses his chin with his fingers, thinking. “You should show some of the girls your drawings. They love artistic type men.” You nod your head and hum in agreement. “Thank you Tamaki.” You walk to your table and take out your sketch book.
Girls come up to you and ask if they can talk to you. You smile and tell them that they can. “So, Y/N, what do you like to do for fun?” One of the girls asks. “I like to draw. I gotta say, all of you girls have the features of a portrait.” They blush and giggle. “Can we see some of your drawings?” “Sure.” You open up your sketchbook to your favorite drawing. They each look at your drawing, passing the book down. “Wow, you are really talented. Can you draw me?” “No draw me!” “I want to get drawn to!” You giggle at the girls little argument. “Ladies, ladies. I can just draw all of you. I’ll make sure to draw each of you as quick as I can. All of you are beautiful, so I’m going to make this a picture fit for you queens.” You get your pencils out and start drawing all three of the girls. One of them pick up a cup of tea to drink. “Wait. leave the cup there.” The girl listened to you and took a sip, leaving the cup at her lips. You make sure to add the beautiful antiques.
“And... done.” You put the pencil down and show the girls. They gasp and scream with happiness. “So talented!” They say in unison. You blush in embarrassment. Tamaki runs over to your table. “What’s going on?” You shake your head and show him the drawing. “Wow. That is some talent you got there. He really made sure to get you girls’ features.” Tamaki looks at you and smiles. “You are learning fast. You are now the shy artistic type.” You get confused at the word, ‘type’. “What do you mean by type?” Kyoya pops up out of nowhere. “All of us in the host club have different personality types. The twins are the mischievous type, Honey senpai is the boy Lolita type, Mori senpai is the quiet type, Tamaki is the prince type, and I’m the cool type.” You look around and find Haruhi. “Well, what about Haruhi?” Kyoya looks at Haruhi. “Oh, Haruhi is the natural type.” Haruhi walks up and says, “I don’t even think I am a natural at this.” You sigh. “Do any of you mind if I walk around, just to figure out your ‘types’ in closer detail?” All of them nod and you walk around.

[🌄 @michiyonakamura requested one (1) regular Ouran High School Host Club matchup. I have just the ingredients for that! Sit tight while I get to work.🌌]
Not to sound weird, but I love your energy 😭!! I admire the fact that you have such a good sense of self. I’ll make you proud, bud! 😤
(Btw, since you didn’t clarify your pronouns, I’ll just use they/them for now. I’ll change them if you want!)
And, it looks like you have an admirer:
🌷Tamaki Suoh🌷
Tumblr media
🌱Humble Beginnings🌱
In school, even in your second year middle school class, you knew the rumors far too well. The whispers that reminded you of viper hisses that kept one name relevant in your mind
The bastard son of Yuzuru Suoh, Tamaki
Despite the other kids explaining to you (Multiple times, at that) that the boy wasn’t worth talking to, you never understood the stigma around him
Maybe it was because your parents didn’t treat illegitimate children like the sin it was in the elite professional community?? But, you were genuinely confused at your classmates, who were so ready to deny the humanity of the new kid (Because of something he couldn’t control, no less)
You eventually asked for the opinion of your “friend”, Kyoya Ootori (Really, it was just an acquaintanceship built off the request of Kyoya’s parents. You knew that, but decided not to say anything out of liking spending time with him.). To which he responded that building a relationship with someone with such a horrible status held no benefit. But, he also knew that fact would hardly stop you
And it didn’t ❤️
You started your mini-mission with simple observation
Through watching at a distance, you learned that even though Tamaki was lowkey (highkey) shunned by his classmates, he was still the sweetest person imaginable towards them
Something told you he understood why he had the social standing he did. But, the fact that he chose to not act bitter made you feel warmer on the inside
You really, really wanted to talk to Tamaki. And hardly because you pitied him. But, because he seemed like too good and interesting a person to pass off
After further observation, you found out that Tamaki also loved music! (As he took a classical music elective)
And suddenly, you had your peace offering
The day after your discovery, you went to the library on campus and got to work. The idea was that you’d print out a ton of sheet music for piano and offer your friendship by giving it to Tamaki
You ended up printing out “’Moonlight’ Sonata”, “The Entertainer”, “Brandenburg Concerto No. 3″, and many others like them, putting them in a folder with a sticky note signed with your name:
“Wanna sit together at lunch sometime? :D —(Y/N)”
After that, you left the decision up to Tamaki. Sure, you wanted to be friends with him, but letting him come to you would be a surefire way to gauge his interest
The next day, you sat at your usual spot with Kyoya at lunch, who expressed his doubts about your efforts paying off
And while you did acknowledge that your little plan could always fall through, you kept your hopes up. The notion of making your life a bit brighter with The Power Of Friendship™️ made you giddy
As your talking veered into the subject of your curiosities about how the cafeteria’s gourmet lunches managed to be so good every day, you noticed a shift in Kyoya’s gaze. Instead of looking straight at you, his line of vision looked like it was going just past you
“Ah, excuse me? You’re (L/N) (F/N), right?”
You immediately turned around at the sound of the polite voice behind you
Well, what do you know!!
The lean boy behind you stood patiently, familiar folder in hand. His blond hair and near violet eyes only complimented his sweet-looking face. He was exactly who you were hoping to see!!
“Oh! Uh, yeah, that’s me!”
“I got the music you left on my desk, and I wanted to thank you! You have amazing taste in music.”
Your heart: ❤️✨😊🌺☀️
“Oh- geez, thanks! I kinda thought you’d like them. Wanna, maybe...sit and talk about ‘em?”
Tamaki brightened and you both looked towards Kyoya for permission. The two of you faced each other again once he gave a brief, exasperated nod
“Of course!”
🌳Flourishing Love🌳
Together, you, Kyoya, and Tamaki became the respective heart, mind, and soul of the Ouran High School Host Club
As the naturally likable manager, you were often a bridge between the two conflicting views of leadership. You brought a certain empathetic sense of responsibility to the table, which helped in most club functions
Tamaki, who you became rather close to, began to fall for your love of life, and your love for others
Even he was surprised by how many other clubs you helped out in, and made it his mission to make sure you don’t spread yourself too thin ((like he often did-))
Through you, Tamaki began to learn about all of your hobbies. And every day, he’d love you a little more
Your crush developed more slowly, but surely. You started seeing Tamaki as a romantic option when he started asking for you to teach him about the many things you enjoy. No one had shown that type of interest before, and honestly?? It was a little flustering
Soon enough, Tamaki couldn’t take it anymore. He needed to ask you out before the opportunity went away!
(((Sure, there was the issue of his customers being upset about his relationship. But, Tamaki would cross that bridge when he got to it, wouldn’t he?)))
It was actually in the library that Tamaki officially confessed. He gave you a book that you had already read, insisting that you look through it again. Albeit, confused, you complied by opening to the page bookmarked by a red rose. There, you saw a sticky note with a specific paragraph number written on it
The paragraph you read was a love confession that perfectly described Tamaki’s feelings
You looked up from the book to meet Tamaki’s eyes, that were free of the exaggerated version of himself. He was serious about this, and serious about you
After you two got together, Tamaki would’ve loved to flaunt his new relationship, but you eventually convinced him to keep it under wraps for now
In fact, he found the Secret Forbidden Relationship™️ shtick kind of ✨exciting✨
However, he will at some point get impatient and accidentally out your little romance to the Host Club (Kyoya had known all along of course)
One of your first dates was watching a “light” thriller at your place. In other words, the movie scared the crap out of Tamaki, while you comforted him like the knight in shining armor you are ☺️
Being as compassionate as he is, Tamaki would love easing you into becoming more verbally expressive. The improvement isn’t necessarily for him, since his higher understanding of other people means he can interpret how you feel too. But, he knows that taking that change is important to you, whether you’ve outright said it or not
Tamaki will become a lot more adventurous with you and all of your interests. The rest of his friends are actually concerned about his physical health 😅
During the winter months, you and Tamaki made it a habit of going out on days below freezing, and cuddling at a library/cafe
Expect many, many chocolate roses from Tamaki in the places you frequent, with sweet little love notes attached to the stem
^The notes also include polite reminders of tasks you may have forgotten throughout the day
The reason Tamaki loved dating you (And not just you in general) was because you two had gotten together of your own volition. No outside forces like wealthy family or meddling friends were involved. This relationship belonged to only you two, and that fact couldn’t be taken away 💕
\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/
[🌌 There you go bud! That’s one matchup for the road. Hopefully it lasts for a while, but if it doesn’t, feel free to come back! I’d be thrilled to see you again.🌄] —Reagan

hi! sorry for sending in 4 asks last time! here’s take 2: can i rq an ohshc & mha matchup? i’m she/her. i prefer males, please! i’m around 4'10", shoulder length black hair & dark brown eyes. personality-wise, i’m not very expressive & seem apathetic unless i’m close to someone. i can act really childish & immature with people i’m close to, & i love teasing/pulling pranks on my friends. i’m a very messy person + i swear a lot. i like horror, psychological thrillers & action comedies. ♡ part 1!
random information; i’m a cancer. intj-t/intp-t. kind of changes. 3w4. ravenclaw + slytherin. i also really like spicy food- i dislike crowds & parties. i’m a very competitive person as well. i can be quite the sadist asdfghjk- i like cats too :,) i can play the piano & i have basic knowledge of a few other instruments. i like to draw, sing & sometimes write. i’m bad at comforting people- i give sorta good advice, but i always sound harsh. + i’m a night owl- i hate waking up in the morning. ♡ 2!
forgot to add: i’d like a romantic matchup please! i have a dog, but i prefer cats more. i can speak filipino, english, basic japanese & a teensy bit of swedish. i like indoor dates, but i also like dates in public aquariums & zoos! i’m also interested in things science-related, mostly biology, chemistry or anything space-related. i think that’s it. thanks in advance!! ♡ 3!
♡︎ matchup for @cherrycolaxo
howdy! that's okay, i understand the length can easily slip! i'm sorry your matchup took me almost two months to get to—hopefully it is worth the wait |ω・`)

Tumblr media
umehito nekozawa
• it was the matching first impressions vs reality that influenced me the most to put you together !! you both appear intimidating at first but in truth you're different and a lot more than what people make of you.
• i also think you can be a positive influence on Nekozawa. he is not good with people but your free-spirited nature encourages him to try a bit harder ♡︎
• he was looking for members for the black magic club when you first met. he asked you to join, expecting to be let down again, but then you agreed!
• instead of finding him creepy you thought he was an interesting character and that the club could be fun. plus, the Beelzenef puppet was cute; you got your own(ΦωΦ)
• through club activities you got to know each other and grew close. Nekozawa was scared to take the subject elsewhere than black magic at first, but soon learnt you share your love for cats and horror, and dislike for crowds.
• he felt like someone finally understood him outside his family and liked him despite his strange ways.
• likes to talk about your interests as well as the languages you speak. though into the supernatural, Nekozawa probably educated himself on science so he would know how seperate the two. now he's glad it's come in handy again.
• was admittedly taken off-guard by your change of character. you began teasing him playfully and pulling harmless pranks on him, and boy was just extremely confused????
• until he understood that's how you show you think of him as someone close. he cried.
• with you his days became more lively, and he learnt to enjoy himself. finds it hardcore that you can be a bit sadistic. a good trait for cursing people!
• once taught you russian to scare Tamaki who was convinced you were putting a voodoo spell on him.
• "mommy, there's two of them now!!!"
• you can't tell me wasn't crushing on you for months before he finally tried to do something about it. his dark soul could not handle the fluffy and fuzzy feelings consuming his being.
• proceeded to make the mistake of asking the host club for help and utterly embarrassed himself when trying to confess to you. it was chaos.
• you had to chase him down for two weeks before he agreed to show his face to you again.
• the rest is history. welcome to the dark side (ฅº₩ºฅ)
• your dates usually take place indoors because you both prefer it that way. despite his photophobia, Nekozawa occasionally manages to overcome his extreme goth levels to visit the aquarium with you.
• night dwellers™
• you skip school parties to practice black magic and tell stories in the dark, candle-lit club room. most students just assume you're in a cult now.
• the best person to share your drawings and writing with. he gets excited about everything you're willing to show him and actually gives great feedback, especially if it's magic or horror related.
• writes you dark and romantic poems. leaves them for you to find sometimes with a black rose next to the piece of paper ♥︎
• also says i love you by telling you to stay safe whenever you go outside and he can't come with you.
• you have to insinuate anything beyond hand-holding for a while though, because as much as Nekozawa wants to show you physical affection, he's too shy.
• you stop doing it though eventually, just to tease him, so you're surprised when he awkwardly nuzzles Beelzenef against your cheek.
• he got paranoid and thought you lost interest in him to be with the host club
• just kiss the puppet back and he's happy for the next three days. when embarrassed or shy he'll also use the puppet to convey his emotions. you've come to be a pro at reading puppet expressions.
• romantically your relationship advances slow and steady. it's very stong, built from lots of memories, trust and mutual understanding.
• tbh he doesn't need the sun when he's got you to brighten up his life ♥︎

denki kaminari
• your personalities fit together like chocolate and vanilla ice-cream. you add the richness and denki the sweetness to the taste — in result your combination has the best flavor!
• the moment Denki first laid eyes on you he thought you were supe cute, so naturally his mind went 'a person who looks like she doesn't want to be talked to? *cracks knuckles* imma 'bout the change that.'
• your apathetic demeanor didn't throw him off his game, no sir. he just kept talking, flirting and hanging around you until you warmed up to him.
• quest accomplished :D
• i mean, he thought it was attractive how chill you were in the beginning, but uncovering that childish, prankster side of you was like finding a real gem ♡︎
• you can be chaotic together now! loves that you're not afraid to curse. so badass.
• developing feelings for you was an entirely different story, however. they came so naturally as you hung out that when Mina brought it up Denki just short-circuited.
• "You and y/n hang out a lot right?"
• "Yeah, we're super close!"
• "So you like her?"
• "Of course!"
• "Are you finally gonna ask her on a date then?"
• cue surprised pikachu face
• needless to say, he asked you on that date right away the next weekend. you went to the zoo, and he did a bunch of research beforehand to impress you.
• was still shooketh that he only just realised his feelings for you so all his attemps to be smooth were yeeted out the window.
• you still thought it was sweet how genuinely hard he tried to make your day enjoyable so thanked him with a kiss on the cheek.
• boy almost lost his final braincell from the shock and happiness.
• a very doting boyfriend! the type to be at your door with your favourite snacks at 2am if you text him you had a bad day.
• you don't even have to say anything because as your best friend/boyfriend he knows how you act when under the weather.

Lonely Hearts Club//Tamaki Suoh
Word Count: 2k
Rating: General
Prompt: “Lonely Hearts Club” By Marina and The Diamonds
Warnings: N/A
Notes: I wrote this after I started watching OHSHC and it’s an accurate representation of me immediately falling in love with Tamaki. It’s shameless fluff and I don’t regret it. This was also written just after I moved and was written completely on my phone. Just... be warned.
I think that my favourite time of day is after school when I'm the only one in the hallways, save a few people leaving clubs. It was nice, being able to go where I wanted, my earbuds in and my music turned all the way up, dancing through the halls. I liked the feeling of freedom it brought me, being able to do things that would usually get me in trouble. I hummed softly along to the music, exploring a part of the school I'd never been to before.
I looked at a sign above the door of a room I'd never been in before. ‘Music room three’ it read. I shrugged, pausing the song I had playing, before unplugging my earbuds and dropping them and my phone into the small bag at my side. I gently pushed open the door, stumbling back a little as rose petals inexplicably flew from the room at my face.
“Welcome,” a voice greeted from inside the room. The light faded after a moment, and I was face to face with a handful of cute guys, all positioned around the one who seemed to be the leader sitting on a throne.
“I-I'm sorry, I think I have the wrong room,” I stammered out as the blonde on the throne stood up and offered me a rose. I took the rose, slightly confused,  even more so when he gently pressed a kiss to my knuckles. He didn't seem to hear my previous comment and continued on his little tirade.
“I'm certain I've never seen you around. I would have remembered a face as beautiful as yours,” he purred, causing me to blush deeply. I pulled my hand away from his, panicking a little.
“I-I'm really really sorry, I have the wrong room and uh, I should…” I trailed off, finding myself getting lost in his vibrant purple eyes.
“Actually, you know what, I could stay for a little…” I murmured softly, not entirely in control of myself anymore. He grinned brightly, obviously glad to have another… what? Patron? Client? Whatever they were, I was perfectly content to be one.
“So, my darling, what type of boy do you like? The princely type, such as myself? Or perhaps the devilish type? Or-” he went to continue his mini tirade, but I interjected. I had no idea what this was, and despite being absolutely head over heels for a boy I hadn't known for more than five minutes, I wanted to be sure that whatever I was about to get into wasn't weird or illegal.
“I-I'm sorry, but what exactly is this club? I've never been on this side of the school before…” I trailed off, desperately wanting him to keep on talking.
“Ah, of course, my dear. This is the Ouran highschool host club, where the most attractive boys with too much time on their hands entertain girls also with too much time on their hands. Just think of it as a sort of playground for the super-rich and beautiful,” he rambled off, explaining how it works to me.
“So… I just request to sit with one of you, and you talk to me and pretend to be in love with me for a while?” it seemed simple enough, and if I could at least pretend the boy in front of me truly loved me for just a few hours, then I would be satisfied.
“Yep! So, which host would you like to request?” he asked brightly. I looked at the floor, murmuring my answer incoherently.
“What was that?” he asked, confused. I flushed deeper, still staring at my shoes.
“I-I'd like t-to request you if that's okay?” God, I sounded like I was still in middle school.
“Of course, princess,” he beamed, leading me to a spot to sit. I carefully pulled my legs up underneath me, almost subconsciously trying to make myself smaller. It seemed to be a tactic I adopted whenever I had feelings for someone, as though tucking into myself could make me more attractive.
He had opted to get the tea for us and left me alone with my thoughts for a moment. I realized I had never asked for his name, which I'm sure made me seem like an inconsiderate person. Soon, he came back, gently placing a teacup with a beautiful flower design in front of me.
“I-I'm sorry, but I don't think I ever caught your name,” I blurted out, bright red. I carefully combed my fingers through my orange hair, already beginning to become self-conscious of everything about myself. From the purple streak in my hair, which all my friends assured me looked good, to my kind of childish hairpins, all the way down to my weight.
“Tamaki Suoh. And does the lovely flower before me have a name?” he asked, causing me to become a flustered mess yet again.
“Oh, I'm, um, I'm Akira. Yamasaki,” I said, all too fast, carefully taking out my hairpin with a small white cat face on it and self consciously fiddling with it.
“Is something wrong, my lady?” he asked, gently tilting my chin up so I was just a few inches from his face. I was desperately trying not to look like an idiot in front of this perfect human being, reassuring myself it was just an act and that he wouldn't actually kiss me. My hands were clenched tightly around my hairpin, and I held it close to my chest. Despite every cell in my body screaming at me not to pull away, I did so anyway, quickly affixing my pin back in its place.
“I, erm, no, nothing's wrong… it's just that no one's ever been so kind to me before and I just… don't know how to react…” I trailed off. It sounded really pathetic, but I just had an overwhelming feeling of safety, like I could talk about everything that had ever hurt me and Tamaki would still be right there for me. God, he was a good actor. I needed to leave before I said something I'd regret.
“I'm sorry, I should really be going, I just have a lot of homework and my family is waiting for me and…” I stammered out a thousand and one bullshit excuses before promising I'd be back soon.
I raced out of the room as soon as I could, quickly stumbling into the room next door, which was (thankfully) abandoned. I slid down a far wall, fumbling with my phone and earbuds before finally just relaxing, closing my eyes, the music turned up so loud that I couldn't hear myself think. This was exactly the way I liked it, my heart thumping along to the music, my breathing slow and calm, all the white noise my mind liked to create being completely cancelled out, replaced with my favourite song lyrics. This was the only reason I didn't notice a tall figure slip into the room near silently as I began to sing along to my favourite song.
“Laugh track on a tv show
Echoes in the dark alone
I go to bed feeling bad
That I'm the reason that you're sad
The song always held a special meaning for me, although I could never exactly explain why. I had fallen for plenty of people, sure, but I've never really had a relationship before.
“January to December
Do you want to be a member?
Lonely hearts club
Do you want to be with somebody like me?
Oh, lonely hearts club
Do you want to be with somebody like me?
Despite my music being turned up all the way, at this point I couldn't push the image of Tamaki’s face out of my mind. Especially not when I had just seen him close enough that I could practically taste him.
“I feel like if I'm too kind
Then you will only change your mind
Take advantage of my heart
And I'll go back into the dark
This was all too complicated. I had feelings for a boy I had met less than an hour ago, who in that time shamelessly flirted with me, very nearly kissed me, and reduced me into a stuttering mess the second I laid eyes on him.
“Love will never be forever
Feelings are just like the weather
January to December
Do you want to be a member?
I was barely aware of someone sliding down the wall next to me, but I just chalked it up to my imagination. It wouldn't have been the first time I imagined something that wasn't there while I was listening to music.
“Lonely hearts club
Do you want to be with somebody like me?
Oh, lonely hearts club
Do you want to be with somebody like me?
Somebody like me, somebody like me, somebody like me?
Lonely hearts club Do you want to be with somebody like me? Lonely hearts club Do you want to be with somebody like me? Lonely hearts club Do you want to be with somebody like me? Do you want to be with somebody like me? Lonely hearts club Do you want to be with somebody like me?”
As the song ended, I turned off my phone, taking my earbuds out and setting them down next to me. However, as I placed my things down, my hand brushed someone else's, causing me to jump a little. My eyes snapped open, and I was once again only a few inches from a pair of gorgeous violet eyes.
“I… um… why- what- How long have you been here?” I questioned, feeling heat crawling up my neck. Tamaki was here, we were alone, he may or may not have just heard me singing, and there is absolutely no reason for him to pretend he cared about me.
So then, why was he here? I allowed my mind to wander to even the most ridiculous possibilities, entertaining the thought that maybe he actually cared for me.
“You have a beautiful voice, my darling,” he said softly, resting his hand on top of mine.  I flushed darker, stammering out a small ‘thanks’.
“I-I'm sorry, but wh-why are you here? I thought you r-ran the club or something?” I panicked, because oh god it sounds like I don't want him here but I do I want him to stay here with me forever I'm such an idiot.
“I was worried about you, princess,” he said softly, tilting his head gently, his brilliant eyes softening as he noticed the growing confusion in my dull brown ones. He was worried about me? Oh God this couldn't really be happening, right?
“Wha- Why?” I asked, suddenly a hundred times more aware of the distance between us; or rather, lack thereof. As far as I knew, today was the first time we had ever interacted, and I'm sure I would have noticed him before if we had any classes together.
“It is the goal of the Host club to make every woman happy. And when you left so quickly, I wanted to make sure I didn't do anything to upset you,” he said, a gentle smile gracing his handsome features.
“So, are you alright?” he asked his easygoing smile once more melting into a look of concern. I practically melted onto the floor.
“I… um… I'm fine,” I affirmed shakily. If I was any braver I might have just kissed him instead of answering. But I wasn't that brave. Instead, I just decided that I would go out of my way to see Tamaki as often as possible, despite not having any classes with him.
He smiled serenely, gently placing a kiss to my knuckles once again, before standing up.
“And will I be able to see you again, princess?” he asked, producing another bright red rose from God knows where and offering it to me.
I accepted the flower with a timid nod, not entirely trusting my own voice. Even after he left, I sat in that room, staring at the rose I was handed, jumbled thoughts clouding my mind.
                I'm definitely going back.

30 Day Writing Challenge
Day Six: Shatter
Fandom: Ouran High School Host Club
Pairing: Takashi Morinozuka/Haruhi Fujioka
Disclaimer: I do not own OHSHC.
Shatter
-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-
Everything happened almost too quickly when Haruhi bumped into the pedestal, adrenaline running through her body as she tried to stay away from this so called Host Club “King” who was so eager to disregard her personal space , touching her without permission like it was something that was acceptable.
Her eyes flickered to the ground and around the room, sounds muffled as she tried to breathe deeply and not panic at the sight of the shattered pieces of porcelain on the floor.
“Aww, now you've gone and done it. That rune vase was supposed to be featured in the school auction.” Hikaru informed, amused by the reactions they were getting from the normally silent and composed honour student.
“What are we going to do? We were going to start the bidding at eight million yen.” Kaoru tacks on, sighing and shaking his head in false disappointment.
The numbers flashed in Haruhi's head as she tried to figure out immediately just how many payments that was. Ridiculous, was the conclusion she came to.
“I'm going to have to pay you back...” She trailed off, body still on edge, all of her senses screaming for her to get out of the room and as far away from these people as she could. They were insane. She would never understand rich people.
“How are you meant to do that when you can't even afford the school uniform?” The twins spoke at the same time, condescension clear in their tones and making Haruhi bristle, panic forgotten for the moment.
“I'll figure it out. I'm assuming you know where to find me, Kyoya-senpai. If you'll excuse me, I have some money to go organise.” Haruhi informed briskly before turning heel and leaving the room before anyone could say another word.
The twins pouted, immediately bored again before turning to find something else to do.
From off to the side of the room, Honey-senpai tugged gently on Mori's uniform sleeve making the quiet member look down at his cousin.
“That wasn't very nice, was it Takashi?” He commented, voice a little sad at the scene he'd witnessed. He cared for his friends, but there were times when they were a little bit mean.
It wasn't like that vase was all that important after all.
Mori only grunted in response, but something about the way that he'd looked at the door after Haru-chan had left gave the older boy hope for his cousin. It was time that he found someone else to look out for other than Honey-senpai.
Despite the incident however, hosting continued as normal for the rest of the afternoon and by the end it seemed that Tamaki and the twins had already completely forgotten everything that had happened.
The same could not be said for Takashi who waited until the room was almost empty to get a chance to speak with Kyoya.
Giving his cousin a knowing look, Honey smiled brightly. “I'll wait for you in the car, okay Takashi?”
He would just go home on his own but that was moving a little too fast for his friend. Baby steps.
Mori grunted, waiting for the door to click shut before he walked over to Kyoya who was beginning to pack his things up.
“Mori-senpai. What can I do for you?”
“I'll pay.”
If it was anyone else, they would have been confused, but Kyoya Ootori was not anyone else. Pushing up his glasses, he tried to understand where Mori was coming from, what he would gain from this, before giving up and shrugging.
“If you're sure.” He said finally. “I'll await your transaction. I'm assuming it will be complete tonight?”
Mori grunted in assent, before turning and leaving the room, content now that the problem was solved.
But who would tell the honour student?
Frowning further, Takashi sighed internally. He'd have to do it himself the next time they were in school. At least she would be easy enough to find. He knew the twins were in her class and he knew where their first class was.
'Tomorrow.' He decided, before slipping into the car with Mitsukini and grunting when he asked if everything had gone fine.
“I think we should visit Haru-chan and make sure that she's okay tomorrow.” Honey informed, easily understanding what his cousin wouldn't know how to request.
Mori smiled a little, grateful, before nodding.
The first plan was in place.
The next day left Haruhi with the sinking feeling that it was going to be harder than she thought to pay off the debt for that vase. Not impossible, but definitely detrimental to her own studying. Thus far her father had no problems supporting them and making enough money to keep them going, but if they were to pay off an 80 000 yen vase, she'd have to pick up a part-time job.
That of course meant getting permission from the school board to be able to take up paid work, and then proving that she could keep her studies up while juggling said job which wouldn't be an ideal situation, but she'd have to make do.
Sighing, she stepped into her home room and took her seat, ignoring the twins on either side of her easily enough and pulling out her notebooks to get some extra study in before classes started.
Or at least that was her plan.
“Haru-chan!”
The brunette's head snapped up at the sound of her name being called like that, eyebrows furrowing when she spotted the third-year duo that had been in the club room yesterday.
Sighing, she pushed herself away from the desk and walked over to the door, ignoring the stares she was getting from her classmates with practised ease.
“Look Takashi, she heard me.” Honey pointed out excitedly as he stepped out of the doorway so that they could talk in the hall.
There was a grunt of agreement.
Wracking her brains, Haruhi tried to remember their names. Mori-senpai and honey-senpai?
“Can I help you?” She asked, not seeing a reason to beat around the bush when they could get this over with.
Honey pouted a little at the no-nonsense attitude but brightened immediately after, flowers seeming to float in the air around him.
“We just wanted to stop by and say 'hi'. We're sorry for how everyone treated you yesterday. Takashi paid for the vase so you don't need to worry about it at all, kay?”
It took Haruhi a moment to comprehend the words before her eyes went wide.
“You did what?” She managed to choke out finally, looking over at the taller man to direct her question.
He just shrugged a shoulder slightly in response making her sigh.
“You didn't need to do that. I would have figured something out.” She insisted, still a little shocked.
Honey giggled a little. Haru-chan was so cute.
“Wasn't your fault.” Mori said finally.
Haruhi didn't argue against that. She knew exactly whose fault it had been. “Not yours either.” She pointed out.
Honey giggled as her cousin shrugged a shoulder again.
Sighing, Haruhi rubbed her temples to stave off the oncoming headache.
“And what do you want in exchange?”
Honey titled his head in confusion, a similar look appearing on Mori's face.
Shaking her head, Haruhi gave them a pointed look. “I've learnt that no-one in this school gives anything for free. And even if this was some form of no strings attached debt payment, I'd rather not have it weighing on my conscious. So, what do you want in exchange?”
Mori frowned. “80 000 yen is pocket change for us. I don't need anything.” He insisted finally.
Huffing, Haruhi crossed her arms and looked up at him with an unwavering gaze. “Then consider things like this. You have done me a favour and I am now in your debt whether you acknowledge it or not. I'm honour bound to do something equal to make up for the service you've done for me. Please choose something.” She insisted.
Watching his cousin struggle, Mitsukini couldn't help but grin wider. Without meaning to, Haru-chan had just increased the pace of his plans exponentially.
“Haru-chan could help with the clean up at Judo and Kendo club?” He suggested, looking up at Takashi with wide eyes.
Mori hesitated. He didn't want to make the honour student do anything, but it was hard to argue against her fierce determination. Being honour bound was an idea that he understood well and it felt wrong to ignore that the concept did apply in this situation.
“Fine.” He agreed, exasperation clear in his eyes for anyone that cared to look closer.
Haruhi nodded, feeling relieved to finally have a solution to her problem. “In that case I will see you both at kendo and judo?”
Nodding, Honey grinned widely. “Of course. We have kendo on Wednesday afternoons and judo on Friday afternoons.” He informed.
Haruhi nodded, noting the information. At least she knew where the dojo was. Today was Tuesday so it would be tomorrow when she saw them again. And giving up a couple of hours on two afternoons a week was much easier to juggle than an entire work schedule.
Noticing the teacher walking towards the classroom, Haruhi gave them a small smile. “Thank you. I'll see you both tomorrow afternoon. You'd better hurry if you don't want to be late to class.” She pointed out, waving to them as she heading back inside and took up her seat.
Ignoring the other students she couldn't help but be in a good mood, situation lifted off her shoulders.
'Maybe all rich people aren't the same after all.' She admitted to herself.
The rest of the day seemed to fly by and before either Mori or Haruhi knew it, it was Wednesday afternoon and he was getting ready to go to kendo, having been released from class ten minutes early so that he could get to club before anyone else.
“Do you think Haru-chan knows where to go?” Mitsukini asked, titling his head in worry and trying not to smirk at the small show of concern that flashed on Takashi's face.
“She'll be fine.”
Honey pouted. Why did his cousin have to be so stubborn?
“You should go get her just in case. I can get things ready, just this once.” He suggested, looking up with wide eyes.
Narrowing his eyes, Mori tried to follow the thoughts that were running through Mitsukini's head but found himself unable to understand what was going on. But despite knowing that something was a ploy – even if he didn't know the why yet – he found himself unable to refuse the almost-order.
“Just this once.” He grunted, giving his cousin a stern look before he turned to head towards Haruhi's last class to grab her.
Honey giggled, not in the least worried by Takashi's knowing look before turning and skipping towards the dojo, more excited than ever to attend kendo.
Haruhi sighed in relief when the majority of class had left the room finally, rushing out like being in school for a moment longer was going to kill them.
Rolling her eyes, she slung her bag over her shoulder and headed towards the door, stepping out and turning right to start heading towards the dojo only to almost bump into a familiar, tall boy.
Stumbling back, she blinked when she felt herself being righted quickly, preventing the tumble she'd been prepared for.
“Thank you.” She said, manners on autopilot before the situation started to make sense and she titled her head at Mori-senpai. Was it just her imagination or did he look a little amused?
Shaking that thought from her head, she focused on more important matters. “Why are you here Mori-senpai? I was just about to head over to the dojo and I would have seen you there...”
Mori gave her a look in an attempt to convey his meaning, offering to take her bag.
Shaking her head, Haruhi smiled to soften her refusal. “It's fine, I'm capable of carrying my own things.” She insisted, tightening her hold on the bag just in case.
Even though it didn't feel right, Mori let it go, starting off in the direction of the dojo at a slow pace so that Haruhi could keep up with her shorter legs.
“You're here to help me find the dojo then? I did have some idea of where to do, but it occurred to me later that this damned school might have more than one dojo.” She informed him.
Mori's lips twitched slightly and he nodded.
“I thought so. In that case, thank you for the escort.”
The rest of the walk passed in silence, and before Haruhi knew it they were standing in front of a very different dojo to the one that she'd been preparing to go to.
Watching curiously, she observed as Mori opened the door and stepped into the dojo, bowing when he entered as a sign of respect and immediately removing his shoes.
Following suit, Haruhi also bowed in an attempt to be respectful and took her own shoes off.
“Study.” Mori stated- pointing towards an area off to the side.
If she was going to insist on helping out then he could at least give her a semi-quiet place to work before clean up.
Haruhi smiled and nodded. “Alright. Thank you, senpai.”
Mori watched as she padded over to the corner quietly, absently noting that her posture and quiet movements would be perfect for martial arts, before shaking the thought away. It was time to focus on kendo now.
“Hi, Haru-chan!”
The sudden call of her name breaking her from her work was quickly becoming something that she was getting used to, jolting out of the equation she had been trying to solve.
“Hello, senpai.” She greeted, voice much softer, but she couldn't help but smile at his attitude. “Is it time to finish up already?”
Honey nodded. “Yup. Takashi and will show you how clean up usually goes. Thanks for helping out, it'll make everything run even smoother.”
Haruhi shook her head, packing her things into her bag before leaving it in the corner. “It's fine. I'm more than willing to help out. I owe Mori-senpai.” She reminded.
Pouting, Honey wanted to huff at her bold response. It wasn't like he had expected anything other than Haru-chan being debt bound right now though, so he let it go, instead focussing on showing her around the dojo with enthusiasm an demonstrating how to clean up and where everything went.
Picking up one of the shinai from the ground, she tilted her head at it.
Noting her interest, Mori padded over to her, standing nearby but not touching her.
He nodded towards her hands in request when he finally got her attention.
“You want to show me how to hold it properly?” Haruhi guessed, quickly becoming accustomed to his tendency to use gestures as opposed to words.
Mori nodded.
Haruhi smiled. “Sure.” She agreed, loosening her grip and letting the bigger hands dwarf over her own, adjusting her grip and showing her how to hold it correctly.
She picked it easy enough and grinned. “Thanks, senpai.”
Mori shook his head, lips twitching. “Would you like to learn?” He offered.
Biting her lip, Haruhi shook her head sadly. “I'm not against it, but I don't have the time for hobbies right now...” She trailed off.
Understanding, Mori couldn't help but place a gentle hand on her head, similar to how he did whenever Mitsukini was upset, and shook his head to show he wasn't sad.
“If you ever change your mind.” He offered.
Haruhi smiled softly, nodding in agreement.
From across the room, Honey grinned at the sight of his cousin getting along so well and openly with someone else, satisfied that step two had been going so well.
Now all he had to do was convince Haruhi that it was a good idea to pick up kendo and he could progress to step three.
But they had plenty of time to get that far. They barely knew each other and Honey was just as keen to get to know Haru-chan. There was something about the way she'd spoken of being duty bound that made him wonder what kind of life she'd had until now.
Perhaps, it was time to investigate.

Birthday cake
Day three of @ohshc-week : kitchen/baking or self-discovery
"He doesn't like sweets! We can't use icing!"
"We're making a cake boss! It's gonna be sweet either way!"
Haruhi sighed, they were supposed to be making a birthday cake for Kyoya… but it was dissolved into messes and fighting. Honey and Mori were working on making little purple roses out of icing, well Honey was, Mori was more focused on stopping Honey from eating any of the ingredients.
The twins were fighting with Tamaki over how to decorate the cake, meanwhile poor Haruhi was the only one actually making the cake. Dark chocolate, with some cherries in, Haruhi couldn't help to notice how it was practically a black forest gateau but with some alterations to make it more enjoyable to the shadow king. She found it rather funny how Kyoya preferred a sharper taste to something sweet, it fit him so well, she was happy to use some tricks her mother had taught her; such as adding a pinch of salt with the sugar to keep the taste less sweet, or melting the butter a little before adding it so it's easier to mix. The hosts would probably be very confused by it, if they were paying attention to the actual cake instead of the decorations of it.
The twins were still arguing with Tamaki, they had been for around twenty minutes now. Haruhi sighed and walked over, arms crossed. "Are you three finished with your arguing yet? I need the cake bases now."
They glanced at her, and Tamaki practically melted into whining, "Haaarruuuuhuiii! Tell them we can't use icing! Kyoya doesn't like sweet things!!" He clung to her, pouting and just doing those horrid puppy eyes.
Haruhi just rolled her eyes, crossing her arms, "not liking sweet things doesn't mean we should leave the cake plain, we can just use a drizzle… how about a caramel sauce?"
The trio watched closely as Haruhi mixed the cream with the sugar and caramel, adding salt in spite of the concern that the hosts had. "Have you boys never cooked before? Of course you put salt in, otherwise it'd be too sweet," she didn't know why she'd even asked that, of course this gaggle of spoiled brats had never cooked before, they all had gourmet chefs working for them. She let the twins put the cake in the oven, barely glancing to make sure they got the settings right, as she was preoccupied with the huge bowl of caramel sauce. Tamaki however, was just sat there doing nothing, so Haruhi sighed, turning to him, "senpai, can't you think of something to do?"
The king pouted, resting his head on the counter, "noo… I'm bored…" he glanced up at Haruhi, big puppy eyes on full blast.
She sighed, rolling her eyes at him, "why don't you just make some little marzipan balls for decoration? That should keep you busy." She slid the tray of marzipan towards him, smiling softly when he instantly got to work, rolling little orbs of white and black.
After the decorations were all ready, sitting on their trays, ready for the cake to finish baking. Tamaki perked up slightly, "do you think Kyoya's back from spending time with his brothers yet? I wanna give him his cards and gifts!"
The twins shrugged, "we don't know, we asked him to text us but he hasn't yet."
Honey giggled, "his brothers probably don't want to stop hanging out with him! I know I wouldn't want to stop spending time with Chika." Oh yeah, Honey definitely had a unique perspective on this situation, having a younger sibling of his own, Mori, having one too, nods in agreement.
Haruhi sighs, finally relaxing, "we've only got an hour to wait until the cake's done, then we wait half an hour before we decorate it, so we wouldn't even be able to spend that much time with him without leaving again."
At these words, the hosts all collectively pouted, it was Kyoya's birthday after all, and all they wanted was to spend time with their beloved shadow king. They sat and waited in silence after that, staring at the oven as the cakes were baking. As much as they joked that Kyoya was heartless and cruel, he was mommy for a reason; he went out of his way to make sure everyone was doing the best they could, he took care of 80% of the duties that were really supposed to be Tamaki's job, he always had a bag or two of sweets in his bag- even though he wasn't that big of a fan of sweet things, really he was the mother of the group, no matter how much he tried to deny it. They all loved him with all their hearts, and wanted The best for him, unfortunately Kyoya isn't very open to love and affection, so the hosts have to be sneaky when showing their care with him.
The more Haruhi thought about it, the more Kyoya was like a particularly feral cat- one that was suddenly been shown affection and warmth; he was entirely self-sufficient, he treated literally everyone as if they were incapable and needed him to keep them going, was disgusted by the idea of affections, but silently craved being seen in a positive light, he was loving and caring but denied ever being such things, hiding it behind a rough and cruel exterior. The thought made her smile fondly, though she did wish they could just tell him how much they cared, instead of having to dance it around and hope he understands.
She knew what almost everyone had bought Kyoya, they'd all shown off happily. She felt a little bad about her measly little scarf she'd made him, but he always seemed too cold, hands shaking almost every time she saw them, he did so much for everyone- Haruhi just wanted to do something considerate back. The boys, as is typical of rich people, used gift being as an unwitting display of wealth; each gift more ornate and expensive then the next.
The twins had gotten him a four piece suit, complete with a male corset and rather impressive shoes. It was black and purple, with silver details, they'd even bought practically a bucketful of accessories, stating that Kyoya's outfits were always so plain. The accessories were quite tasteful, although some may be too feminine for Kyoya's tastes.
Honey of course, had gotten Kyoya many different squishies and stress balls and other fidgety, stimulating toys. Haruhi thought this was a great idea, even if some of them are a tad cutesy, Kyoya's always so angry, he's definitely going to appreciate them! Then she saw him pull out a fidget toy with opals on it, sure it was pretty, but do they have to flaunt wealth at every point? At least Honey had a good reason, stating that black opal was Kyoya's favourite gemstone. Another good thing about these toys, is that honey had them custom made, and claimed that they were made to be practically indestructible, which was rather impressive- and needed too, Haruhi had seen Kyoya dent an armoured car in a fit of rage, any toys he had would have to be able to put up with that level of violence.
Mori had bought a couple of books he thought Kyoya might find interesting, as well as a new usb with pdf copies of each book, Haruhi honestly thought that was one of the best gifts, thoughtful and subtle, then Mori showed them the books and they were all first edition copies. Haruhi had sat there, cursing the frivolous spending of these boys, was this a competition to them?
Tamaki had happily shown off the gift he'd gotten for Kyoya, pens, lots and lots of pens, a whole briefcase of them; fountain pens, gel pens, erasable pens, gold, diamonds, opals- just the most decadent set of pens you've ever seen, the fountain pens had refilled in every known colour, and the briefcase itself had gold embellishments. Haruhi was, in all honesty, blown away even imagining how much that had coated, did he have to spend so much money on pens? Although she knew Kyoya would appreciate pens, he broke one practically every week, and wrote like nobody's business. He was the only person haruhi had even known to actually run out of ink in a pen.
So it was clear the hosts were vying for the most expensive gift, and Haruhi couldn't help but feel slightly inferior for the little purple and green scarf she'd made Kyoya, it was rather nice looking in her opinion, and it has taken her quite a while… she really hoped Kyoya would appreciate it.
By now, the cakes had not only finished baking, but they'd cooled as well, so the twins placed the first layer, about the size of a wheel, on the plate. Honey added the whipped cream before Mori put the second layer on top, there were four layers in total, stacking up nice and high. Haruhi had got a chair to stand on and poured the caramel sauce over the cake, making sure it was entirely coated, with a nice pool at the bottom. She'd then stepped back, letting Tamaki and the twins place the marzipan balls that Tamaki had made whilst Mori and Honey placed the little purple roses made out of icing, life size and miniature too.
When they were finished, the cake looked beautiful, they were all so proud of it. Proud… and covered in the ingredients, they really looked a mess, they should probably clean up before leaving the kitchen. Haruhi was the least covered in eggs and flour, she only had some caramel on her sleeve. So she was the one to add the candles, purple and white striped ones, all 18 of them. God, this was a big birthday huh, he was an adult now. No wonder his family finally wanted to spend time with him.
Kyoya had returned, rolling his eyes at how excited Tamaki was, the blonde hanging off his arm. He glanced around the room, clearly taking in the sigh of all the gifts and cards gotten for him, there was a table full of things from the guests, and each host was holding the gift they'd gotten for him. He just sighed, adjusting his jumper, it was big, grey and oversized, not the kind of thing he'd normally wear. He put his shopping bags down, glancing over at the hosts, "why are we making a fuss about this? It's just getting a little older."
"But Kyoya! Don't think of it like aging! Think of it more like… surviving yet another year? Isn't that something worth celebrating?" Tamaki smiles, hugging Kyoya's arm.
Kyoya visibly pauses, thinking over what Tamaki had said, almost looking sad, just for a moment, then he smiled slightly, nodding, "ok, sure… You know Tamaki, you sound just like Fiyumi sometimes, she says that, every year…" Tamaki stops for a moment, turning and looking at Kyoya in silence, he then rushed over, hugging Kyoya.
"Hey come on! Let's not focus on the idea of the other end of things! Let's celebrate! We all got you something!" He beamed, stepping back and gesturing to the other hosts, "come see what we got you!"
They had Kyoya sit down in Tamaki's big chair, handing him gift after gift after gift. They had opened the ones from the guests first, all sorts of cute and shiny nonsense, too many chocolate boxes to count- for the last requested host, Kyoya sure had a lot of fans. Then they came to the gifts gotten by each host, the gift the twins had gotten Kyoya made him smile, he'd rolled his eyes, "god, Yuuichi tells me that every day, he says I dress strangely, he got me this jumper, he says I look better when I dress cutely." They'd laughed at that, and Honey had handed him the gift he'd gotten.
That gift had made Kyoya pause for a bit, picking some up and looking at them, before fiddling with one of the fidget toys, and getting entirely engrossed in it, until Tamaki shakes him gently. Kyoya sighed then turned to Honey, nodding gently, "thank you." Honey had beamed at that, happily pointing out that it was indestructible, because he'd seen how destructive Kyoya can be without even realising. Kyoya had frozen at that, looking down at the toy in his hands, something seemingly coming to mind, something he very openly didn't like, dropping the toy back into the box. It seemed Mori had noticed that, nudging the box aside with his foot and placing the gift he had gotten, onto Kyoya's lap, a little hum of assurance.
Kyoya opened the gift, looking at it for a moment before picking one up, running a finger along the spine before reading the blurb on the back of the book, then another, then another. Slowly, Kyoya read the blurbs of each of the books, before carefully placing them all back into their box, he turned to Mori, nodding, "these all seem like very interesting books, Thank you." Mori hums again, placing a gentle hand on the top of Kyoya's head, a gesture that did not go unnoticed. Kyoya sighed softly, closing his eyes for a second, the closest any of the hosts had ever seen to him reciprocating affection, and Tamaki's eyes lit up, if just for a moment. But the king stepped aside, and let Haruhi hand Kyoya her gift first.
The shadow king looked down at the brown paper wrapping, nothing he was at all used to, he used his nails, surprisingly sharp as they were, to tear into it, playing around with the texture for a moment or two, before tearing into the paper. He looked almost surprised at the soft wooden scarf that lay across his lap now, the greens and the purple sitting in unison, he picked it up, testing the feel of it in his fingers… he smiled. He slowly wrapped the scarf around his neck, clearly pleased by how soft it was, he glanced at Haruhi, curiosity clear in his eyes, "did you make this?" Haruhi had nodded, telling him how it took her over a month, he glanced back down at the scarf, rubbing the wool between his fingers, "hm, it's very good quality, welldone Haruhi, and thank you." These words sent Tamaki into a frenzy, going on about how Mommy and darling daughter were getting along so well, and Haruhi noticed how Kyoya just smiled softly at that, watching the king flounder about with adoring eyes.
Haruhi had paused, she'd glanced across at the twins, then to Honey, then Mori, then finally to Tamaki, she was beginning to notice how much all of them loved each other, how much she loved all of them. She wondered if they were aware of how much they loved each other, or was that just a Tamaki thing… she wasn't even sure Tamaki was all too aware.
When Kyoya saw the pens Tamaki had bought him, he was near tears- of course that was an exaggeration, an Ootori never cried, they were infamous for such, but Kyoya's eyes were certainly wet as he stared down at all those shimmering beauties, his hand twitched, clearly wanting to hold them, but he glanced up at Tamaki instead, "I can't take these, I break pens so easily, I'd just ruin them…" his voice, it was shaking, if Haruhi didn't know any better, she'd say Kyoya sounded scared of breaking the pens.
Tamaki had smiled softly, putting a gentle hand over Kyoya's shaking one, "don't worry Kyoya! I don't mind if you break them, as long as you enjoy writing with them. Not everything is meant to stay forever, no matter how beautiful!" Kyoya clearly didn't believe him, so Tamaki sighed, continuing, "and even if they do break, they'll still be beautiful, I know beautiful things that break and break and break and they're still as beautiful as the day I saw them first, even if they can't be used for their original purpose, besides, you can always fix them can't you?"
She'd been suspicious of something for a while now, since that night near the beach, with that thunderstorm… and Kyoya, being just as much of a feel as the other boy's… she'd thought about her theory as he'd told her how the club was formed, when Kyoya's father had slapped him, as she watched him watch Tamaki's car leave during the festival, when they stood together under the fireworks and Kyoya had kept a couple of steps distance, and right now… She hoped to god Tamaki didn't mean what she thought he did, standing next to Kyoya, her hand went to his forearm, smiling at him as he looked at her, "those are pretty pens senpai, I'd be a shame if you didn't write with them. If you break them then that's not your fault, pens aren't anything like people, so you shouldn't feel too bad if you break it."
Kyoya had paused for a moment, ruminating on something, before he nodded, "you're right, both of you, I'd love to write with these pens, thank you Tamaki- it's a wonderful gift." There was silence, just a comfortable, soft silence, everyone was smiling, everyone was happy.
Then Honey piped up, jumping up and down, "cake time! Cake time!"
Kyoya had glanced back at him in alarm, "cake? But I-"
The twins shrugged at that, speaking in unison, "well you have to have a cake, it's your birthday." Kyoya didn't seem to want to argue with that, so he just let Haruhi turn the lights off, and take out a camera as Mori brought the cake in, with Honey hopping around behind him.
They sang happy birthday, though Tamaki had decided to make his way to the piano, playing them a melody to sing to, he himself was singing the words in french, that blended into the Japanese to create a strange sound, one that felt comforting to them all, they didn't understand the words Tamaki sang, but they knew their meaning. Mori brought the cake over and placed it on a table in front of Kyoya, who looked at it, in… what had to be awe. Everyone knew Kyoya wasn't one for sweets, but the way he stared at that cake, Haruhi had to wonder if it wasn't so much a dislike, as it was a show, a character he was building.
He stood up to blow the candles out, rolling his eyes as everyone clapped, but when they had finished he did have one question, "did you make this?" Everyone nodded, happily explaining the things they had done, and the steps taken to make sure that Kyoya enjoys it. With every word spoken, it's clear that Kyoya becomes more and more touched by the notion, then when he would argue the need for a cake not five minutes ago.
They each got a slice, though Kyoya got the biggest- Honey had talked his way into getting the second biggest of course, the cake was actually delicious, not as sweet as they'd expected, though they never saw Haruhi add the salt, she was rather proud of her baking personally, though she had to admit the things the others did were indeed vital for the cakes success. She had glanced over to Kyoya, noticing how slowly he was eating his cake, other than Tamaki and the twins rambling on about something or other, it was quiet, and Haruhi just watched Kyoya eat. It was strange, she genuinely couldn't tell if he was happy or not, he'd seemed happy throughout the gift giving, but now his expression was blank. She wondered if his so-called hatred for sweet things outlived his love for his friends, or maybe he just didn't know how to deal with enjoying something. The last time Haruhi had watched him eat like she was right now, they'd been in a mcdonald's, and he had shown terrible table manners, but right now, he was moving as perfectly polite and daintily as a human possibly could, especially for a human that breaks things on a daily basis, Haruhi was forced to come to the conclusion that… maybe Kyoya was monitoring his own behaviour, he must be enjoying the cake the same way he enjoyed everything, with massive amounts of guilt.
