2017: my complicated af beaN layla. idek what’s going on with her at this point. 2020: i’m screaming i can’t believe i thought 2017 layla was complicated. i had no idea what was to come. i picked up biel not long after that. also had katalina aka brucey’s wifey n i miss her. juliana is a fairly recent addition and, i’m about to spill the beans, a glücksburg is coming.

2017: american / lots of white european and the other half o’ me is ashkenazi jewish / right now i’m back and forth between pst and mst. homeland is mst though. 2020: obvs nothing has changed except no more back and forth with timezones. strictly mst now.

2017: it’s the first day of spring and we almost reached 100 degrees F :’) we don’t really have autumn or spring here tho. it’s either hot as balls summer or frozen. no in between. like, as soon as temps get below 70 F people break out their jackets. 2020: welcome to the desert, “it’s a dry heat”

2017: lmAO well rn i work in the kitchen of a gas station (sah classy). 2020: went from working in the store to working in corporate *finger guns* apparently i never said what i was studying but i was still in school then. justice studies with a minor in military leadership and certifications in human rights and socio-legal studies. then i studied astrophysics with minors in cyber intel + security and math for a semester, but i didn’t want any more debt ajskdf

009. what’s your dream occupation?

2017: IDK but it has to involve happiness and a nice salary. i have to feed my zoo somehow. 2020: what r dreams lmao

2017: single then. single now. single forever. 2020: every time i think about putting myself out there, something happens. i don’t have time to date atm

2017: goD they’re nuts. i’m the middle child out of all my siblings but the youngest on my dad’s side. large age gaps are common, like half my sisters are old enough to be my mom. lots of grand babies and great grand babies. when we’re all together (like this past weekend) it’s ….wild. communication is v poor too. i only have one brother out of my eight siblings, and all those siblings are only half-related to me. at 5′5 i’m one of the tallest in the fam which says a lot. 2020: they’re still nuts n i don’t speak to my mother anymore. i should probs add that my parents have been divorced since i was a few months old so she hasn’t been in the pic for a while. even when she had custody of me jaksldf find me ron howard i’ll give him the rights to my life story

2017: sports !!! i’m a grade a heaux for sports. tennis, archery, golf. anything that doesn’t require lots of muscle ya feel. one of my ~hobbies~ i guess is organizing things. i have multiple planners and use them all daily. 2020: i miss how sporty n active i was jkasdf this is my hobby.

I was rooting around the Kozue tag bc Kozue is my fandom rn. But, even though I enjoyed my time in the tags, I am feeling kind of uncomfortable with the amount of ppl calling Kozue a slut or hyperfocusing on her promiscuity. I’m not talking about people bashing her or villainising her (although that is far worse) - I’m talking about people reclaiming the term slut or the idea of a promiscuous woman as something self-affirming and empowering. While I understand the need to reclaim the idea that a woman can be self-respecting and have a libido or be sexually assertive, it seems kind of grossly misplaced in this context. And, like, I understand where it comes from when Kozue’s brother has written her off for falling on the wrong side of the madonna-whore dichotomy, but let’s just forget about Miki and how he views this situation for a minute bc Miki is an idiot. Let’s just amass some evidence here:

- We know Kozue has a parade of boyfriends and that she never switches them out so much as amasses new ones. But we also know, when she tells us this, she is not bragging so much as relaying as she sits apart from her peers at the poolside, hunched in on herself.

- We know Kozue's parents functionally abandoned her and her brother in the fallout of their divorce, and we know Kozue seems to feel that abandonment much more acutely given how outwardly angry she is about it and how disparagingly she speaks of her parents. (“we’re wild animals after all”)

- We know Kozue is 13 and, while I think it may be a mistake to understand the characters in Utena as being functional and accurate portrayal of where teenagers at these ages would be child development wise (bc anime and bc utena) I don’t think the narrative has ever been shy about stressing the fact that Kozue-Miki-Nanami are meaningfully younger than Anthy-Utena-Wakaba in the same way it stresses that Saionji-Touga are meaningfully older.

- We don’t know who most of Kozue’s suitors are, but the only two we do know include Akio and Touga, who we know are predatory af. To some extent I think we can take them as exemplative of the kinds of relationships Kozue is pursuing.

- And, well, we also know that, at least to some extent, Kozue flaunts her sexuality to get Miki’s attention. (Let’s not go into how the narrative meant this, or what kind of attention she wants, or whether or not the narrative fumbled this point. The only point is that- regardless of whether or not Kozue should want Miki’s attention, whether or not she should value it so highly- she does. And I don’t think it’s strange that she does given he’s the only family left in her life.) Kozue at several points noticeably attempts to provoke Miki, changes her outward demeanor with regards to her romantic life for Miki’s benefit, and sometimes pushes away suitors whose advances she was welcoming only a moment before based on how Miki’s attention has wandered. Kozue’s hot-and-cold attitude towards her suitors itself has been somewhat thematic even when Miki isn’t immediately present, and I think you can take that in of itself to be indicative of her having mixed feelings about what she wants. At the end of the Black Rose Arc, for instance, she reverts back to wanting sweets and to be put to bed like a child.

So I’m not saying that there’s nothing physically or emotionally pleasing about sex that makes Kozue pursue it - like, I hope she’s enjoying herself at least a little - but I think it’s a mistake to read this sexuality as empowering or envision it as not primarily being part of a story where a neglected teenage girl is performing to the desires of the abusive men around her in order to have a very basic emotional need for attention met. I realise there needs to be a greater recognition of the fact that women can and do pursue sex and multiple partners for reasons that are not born of that kind of powerlessness, and that that’s something that should be celebrated instead of scorned. But... that’s not what this story was about, and I think it’s kind of disingenuous and disturbing to read it as such.

A small group of actors (10) are preforming a play for Charity at retirement homes and hospitals. Would we need insurance to perform there? Someone was concerned that we might accidentally fall over and break our arm or fall over and break someone else's. blair warner - she’s rich af and can be super conceited, but she knows how to have a good time and has a little bit of a devious streak. depending on the verse - is either in law school or a lawyer. intelligent altho ppl don’t expect it.

emily gilmore - a socialite altho she prefers the term “philanthropist.” emily might seem “evil” to some people, but she has good intentions (in her mind). she only does things when she thinks they’re the “right” thing to do (at least, before the revival), but she also has a bit of a mischievous streak that’ll come along every now and then. her upbringing instilled certain lessons in her that she’s unlearning little by little.

meredith quill - she loves classic rock, motown, her son, and the world. she’s one of those people who’s in love with life, and her enthusiasm is genuine.

alice longbottom - she’s kind and altruistic. however, she’s not a pushover. my alice isn’t “soft” alice. she’s “u said something super ignorant and im gonna tell you why youre wrong” alice. gryffindor.

arthur weasley - arthur wants to learn everything he can about the world around him. a bit of an absent-minded professor, even tho his mind is always turning. he just has so many thoughts happening all at once, he can tend to jump from subject to subject without connecting them sometimes. gryffindor (altho he was almost a ravenclaw)

effie trinket - seems like an airhead, but effie is smarter than you think. she grew up in a society where certain things were expected so she fulfilled them. her upbringing was also extremely different in the sense that she was fed propaganda from a young age and never knew differently, but her experiences in district 12 (or other verse equivalents) have shown her that the world isn’t what she thought it was, and she’s learning what life actually is little by little

katniss everdeen - i won’t write katniss a lot just bc it takes me into a place that’s harder to get out of, but my katniss is a sacrifice of her circumstances. she never wanted to be a revolutionary figure and never felt comfortable with her position in it even after the war was over. her “toughness” that people seem to see is just katniss trying to survive. survival is her driving aspect.

jane villanueva - jane is a mama who is also an incredible writer whose first book is in the process of being published. she writes romance novels so essentially she’s just like us! she likes having a plan for everything, and her family is number ONE in her life

michael cordero a detective. is also a major nerd. thinks he could be a comedian, but he’s not actually that funny. like maybe if you have a certain sense of humor. he lives with a certain code of ethics, however, they might get bent at points if he thinks it’s for the best of the situation.

ryan atwood - he came from not a great family, and then he got adopted by this uber rich fam in the oc (orange county, california). he’s navigating his new life, and grappling with who exactly he is and what his place is in the world. just know that he’s deeply loyal and cares a lot about people

pam beesly - receptionist at dunder-mifflin paper company. insecure, but is slowly coming out of her shell. is an artist and outlawed at chili’s. is a huge dork, but also adorable.

fitzwilliam darcy - super rich bc he inherited everything from his parents after they died. they died when he was young, so he was thrust into responsibility at an early age which is part of why he is the way he is. seems stuck-up (and kind of is), but he just doesn’t care of societal expectations of friendliness even though he gets caught in what society expects when it pertains to manners, etc. is his sister’s guardian, and she means more to him than anything else in the world

jane bennet - pure, the sweetest. the oldest sister of five. in modern verses, i have her as a preschool teacher

queen clarisse renaldi - queen of genovia. a literal queen. tries to be diplomatic. expects people to do as she tells them bc she’s a queen. has dealt with some shit in her life - her husband died, her SON died. tries to stay optimistic.

sabrina fairchild - suicide attempt tw: her father is a chauffeur for a super rich fam. suffered from depression. attempted suicide, but thankfully, was found before it was too late. after that, she was sent to paris and attended cooking school. fell in love with paris, and also healed. developed a love for life. became a fashion designer.

capheus onyango - son of a local leader who was murdered when capehus was young. was raised by his mother who he loves more than this earth. spent awhile driving a bus called the “van damme.” is a sensate, meaning he is connected to seven other people. idealistic, kind, and too good for this world.

princess fiona - i’ll mostly be playing her with a real life fc. she’s a princess, an actual princess, and her parents had her in a tower for years bc there was a spell on her that turned her into an ogre at night. so kinda like the swan princess but instead of a swan, she’s an ogre. black belt. enjoys burping.
