There's a good chance you've read this before, but for a good throwback and for anyone that didn't see it - might I refer you back to this little thread with Aith? More along the lines of these two getting distracted from slow dancing, but it's so amusing to me lol.

That aside - I like to think Noct finds it cute to see a more tentative side Nyx when he's learning something new. Not to say that Nyx doesn't get silly (or distracted like in the thread lol) and turn the steps into more of a salsa until they get reprimanded and put back on track. Whenever that happens, they try to Stay Serious, but then not really because Nyx also whispers or mouths silly nonsense to Noct like "I have a confession: I kinda have a crush on you", or, "Are you single?"

Which means Noct has to try reaaally really hard not to snicker and giggle lest they wish to get yelled at. Then of course when the instructor (who may very potentially be Iggy) looks away for just a second, Nyx steals little kisses and pecks from Noct.

Basically, they're insufferable students. They still learn, though, and maybe once they're left alone in a big giant ballroom they decide to dance all on their own. Slow, a little more graceful than last time, and this time the things Nyx whispers to Noct are more like sweet nothings that are meant for just them.

Surprising No One - Nyx is the one up first of course. If he's lucky, he's Not trapped by/underneath a sleeping prince. If he's unlucky, he just waits for his opportunity for Noct to move enough so that Nyx can slip out from under him. Some days, though, Noct will wake up early-ish and Nyx will say "Good morning" with a smile, but then Noct will just make a groggy noise and cling to him and go right back to sleep. That can happen at least two or three more times before Noct wakes up enough to form words.

Sometimes even if Nyx manages to get out of bed for coffee, he'll still return to bed just to lay with Noct and enjoy the morning quiet. Maybe catch up on some reading until Noct finally stirs awake beside him.

Then there's those mornings where they're both struggling to get out of bed, just all comfortably curled up to each other. Mornings like this is when Nyx will be half asleep waking Noct up with lazy little kisses; arm slung his Prince's waist, kisses starting at his shoulder, to his neck and cheek and ear. Then - this has definitely been in a fic or two - it turns into teasing scruff tickles. Imagine Noct's soft sleepy giggles with me, IMAGINE!! ;u; Soft sleepy giggles and halfhearted wriggling in Nyx's arms while his neck is nuzzled by scruff.

And then eventually "I'm up. I'm upppppp."

Turning around in Nyx's arms to be met with a "Morning, sleepy head."

"Five more minutes, Hero."

They stay in bed for another ten, fifteen minutes maybe. Nyx snuggles Noct the whole time to make up for waking him in the first place.

He has NO idea how to handle it. Kaaras knows people can get jealous, but he’s never actually emotionally experienced jealousy before. He’s always been very thankful for the things he’s had. And while he definitely has been envious of people, that’s not jealousy. Jealousy is feeling threatened because of his own insecurities, and MAN his insecurities ARE bad, especially when Talan comes around.

Talan is loud, obnoxious, but people love him. Kaaras feels like he’s awkward, quiet, and honestly he’s being tossed into the ‘little brother’ role now, because Talan is his older half-sibling. Kaaras doesn’t know how to feel about it. He also doesn’t know what he is feeling is JEALOUSY. And MAN does it hit him like a hammer. 

I think it’s amusing, even if intense for Kaaras, because his whole life, he’s never been jealous of ANYTHING or anyone, not even when it’s come to lovers, because he simply cherishes WHAT he has and when he has it. But when Talan arrives, he’s filled with this intense jealousy he doesn’t understand or know how to cope with, and he’s like WHY? This is my brother, why do I feel threatened? Why do I feel this way? Why does he annoy me so much?

It’s really a struggle for Kaaras to even put a word on it, and when he figures it out (or someone tells him he’s experiencing jealousy), he honestly feels awful and guilty, and even a bit in denial because why would he feel something over his brother? 

Basically... Kaaras got a serious kick in the nuts to middle child syndrome X’D Family is everything to Kaaras. It’s more important than anything else. He loves Talan, and in time, he warms up to him, but that initial shock to him being a part of his life, Kaaras is really upright about it all. But if anyone ever did anything to upset or hurt Talan, you bet your arse Kaaras would be there to protect him and defend him. 

There’s no denying Talan is annoying (he IS lol I love him but he’s annoying as heck XD), but man Kaaras becomes a moody arse around him because of all of this.

The Farmhouse.

// So I made a very ROUGH (or what I could) diagram of Kaaras’ house on the farm in Southron Hills through Sims 4. Again, this is pretty rough and limited to what the BASE game gives me (since I only have the base game). Also, this is what the farm looks like now, not what it did a good 20 years ago, which was far more run down and derelict.

The house they live in WAS abandoned, so technically... Kaaras and his family were total squatters, but considering they live in Ferelden, they are considered commoners and would have been put to work on land that wasn’t their own anyway, so... Now, however, Aban owns the land, has extended the farm and has people working on her land to harvest and produce :) 

Here’s your basic structure: 

To the front, there’s a veranda, which has some plants and a seat on it. :3 Basic. It’s a farmhouse, so it’s all made of wood, including walls and floorboards. When you enter, it’s the living area. To the left, there’s a fireplace and a lounge. That’s also where Aith sleeps. Sometimes she’ll sleep upstairs in Kaaras’ room (and they always slept together as children) but yeah, in current time period, she often sleeps on the lounge by the fire. 

To the far left, that’s Aban’s room (which is beneath Kaaras’ room and identical in shape). The room looks a bit bigger than it SHOULD be cause Sims is a bit funky with fitting furniture into rooms and needing space for things, so... there’s definitely room for improvement in this diagram. >.< Overall, the house isn’t HUGE and should be a bit more squished in, plus it would also appear smaller because they are qunari.

To the right, that’s the kitchen. Obvs there’s no fridge... but Sims! The stove is to the front, and counters are where they would be, packed with flour pots and sugar, and other things. 

Ignore the water feature... I legit just wanted to throw that in there for funsies. It’s not canon. But to the right, outside, there are garden patches of fruits and veggies, and at the back is the outhouse.

At the back of the kitchen/dining area, the stairs leads up to Kaaras’ room. There is no door, and it’s pretty much a loft like room. No wall to give him much privacy, it’s rather open (but sims was weird so I had to give it walls to give it a roof and shit so...) This is the ROUGH idea of Kaaras’ room:

The bed is totally wrong. Kaaras didn’t actually HAVE a bed. It’s a bedroll. Also, pelts and wool were used for bedding materials as well. But, you get the idea. Around the corner to the left of the pic, that’s actually where a few chests are. Storage for clothes and things. Kaaras still had a few old clothes there, including kilts and things he wore when he was working the farm. Just another angle here:

Kaaras has a view of the kitchen bellow over the loft balcony, because there’s actually no wall there, it’s just a barrier/railing. Excuse my lack of Sims 4 knowledge, I’ve only ever played it once prior to this, so I’m learning, lol. 

To the back of the house, this is where the outhouse is. This is actually JUST a toilet. There’s no shower/bath in there. The BARN it at the far right of this image (to the left of the actual house if facing the front) is where the barn is. I didn’t make the barn because my lot of land was not big enough... But this is where the toilet is, and it’s literally just a tiny outhouse shack like in any horror movie you’d watch XD Or if you’ve ever actually been to the country before... It’s just a toilet. 

Where the barn is, is where the tub is. It’s just a basic wooden tub, and there’s a well just outside of it and a pump to get fresh water from. At the back of the house is the line of the Bricilian Forest. There was always fresh water growing up by the stream nearby within the forest, but overtime, the well that was there was put back into working order and they can now get fresh water from the pump there. :) 

Sorry it’s so limited and not ENTIRELY canon, but I did want to get a BASIC idea of what the farmhouse looked like. Of course, all of this was far more run down when Kaaras was little and growing up, and this was the house they moved into AFTER the previous barn burnt down when Kaaras’ father was killed. A little further South on the map from where they were previously.

3. What is your Inquisitor’s worst memory?

Easily when his father died, but I’m pretty sure we all know that by now. It’s something he struggles with a lot still, and only really starts to overcome when he gets a LI in Inquisition. It is an important part of getting to know Kaaras as a whole, and if he’s told you about this part of his life, then it means he trusts you.

4. What is your Inquisitor’s most treasured possession?

His father’s ring. It’s a cobalt coloured band with a green stone in it. He wears it everywhere and only takes it off if he fears it might get lost or something might happen to it. He wears it on his left pointer finger (which will relocate thanks to Trespasser...) 

5. What makes your Inquisitor laugh?

Any good sense of humour. This is IMPORTANT to Kaaras, actually! If your muse can make Kaaras laugh, it puts him at ease and it makes him feel comfortable around your muse. It is also something that will attract him to your muse. If you muse has no sense of humour, he will struggle. Let’s be honest, he’s a fucking dork sometimes, and if your muse doesn’t get his sense of humour as well? Then they might struggle. XD 

Seriously, though, Kaaras laughs A LOT, he’s easy to please, and he chuckles more than outright cackles, lol. It’s gotta be something REALLY funny to make him lose his shit, considering he’s rather composed. But he chuckles like in every goddamn thread I write. 8| Go read a fucking thread (not an angsty one) and realise just how much he laughs and smiles. He’s a silly thing

6. Does your Inquisitor have any siblings?

Yes. One adopted younger sister, who is Aith Adaar, a Dalish elf he came across when a young child (clan unknown). Kaaras, as Inquisitor, finds out he has a half brother under the Qun (who turns Tal Vashoth to stay with him under protection), Talan-ash, an older brother from his father’s side. He also has multiple siblings from his father’s side under the Qun, but they are unknown and when Talan raided the records, he ended up destroying them so no one else could learn.

7. Who is the Inquisitor’s closest friend?

It might come as a surprise, but outside of his family and his LI, it’s actually Dorian Pavus. Dorian and Kaaras have a very close friendship, one that could have flourished into a romance if it weren’t for Kaaras’ feelings for Bull. 

They are both outcasts, they both went through Redcliffe together, and they are both deeply caring people. Initially, they connected after Redcliffe because of the horrors and deaths they’d seen and the only two to remember it, but then their bond became a lot stronger thanks to being mages, their sense of fashion, and a HUGE step for them both was about Dorian’s dad.

It opened up severely raw wounds for Kaaras, and early on in the game. Dorian is actually the first person in Inquisition to know about his father, and it’s because of his personal mission with his own father. Kaaras encourages him to get in contact with him and talk things through. That’s important for the both of them, and they really connected all throughout the game, to the point where Dorian gives Kaaras the little crystal that they can talk to.

Kaaras finds it easy to talk to Dorian. Although they might not seem it on an outside perspective, Dorian and Kaaras’ relationship is VERY deep and emotional, and Kaaras can talk to Dorian about things he finds he can’t talk to his LI about.

Trespasser fucking breaks me. Because Kaaras hits a very hard time in his life after his arm. He gets overwhelmed by so much, and he literally just breaks down and cries while “on the phone” with Dorian. It’s fucking awful and sad and it breaks me, but that’s how close they are. Dorian leaving cuts him up because he misses him so much. But they talk whenever they can.

8. Does your Inquisitor need a plan or are they happy to wing it?

9. How much care does your Inquisitor take with their appearance?

10. Where did your Inquisitor learn most of their skills and abilities?

He learned most of his training from his trainer, Saarebas. She was a Tal-vashoth saarebas (obviously). She kept her name to remind the Qun that she was a dangerous thing, and she’d kill them all. She was incredibly disciplined though, and that’s where Kaaras gets a lot of it from (as well as his mother XD Kaaras absolutely gets his dorkiness from his father!) 

She was a very skilled mage, though, and has been teaching Kaaras since he came into his magic, which was VERY early. I think most people come into it around their teens? Kaaras showed magic when he was 5. :/ But I do headcanon that qunari are super powerful mages considering their own species is damn strong, but yeah... that’s just me, lol. 

Everything Kaaras knows, though, is thanks to her. Magic, hand to hand, meditation, etc. The only thing he learns outside of that is things on the road here and there, and of course knight enchanting from Helaine in Skyhold.
