Having someone who can understand her and relate to her way of being is such an immense joy for Miko. Kitsune are nowhere near as numerous as they were back in the day, so having a handsome, charming and attractive one as her husband is a true blessing.
As a fellow fox envoy, you have more than the necessary knowledge on fur care, so she'll gladly use your skills. Gentle brushes through her tails not only help keep them in pristine condition, but also feel wonderful. Nothing compares to your ear massages, however. When she lies in your arms and your hands scratch at them lightly, she just melts away, quietly mumbling about her day.
If Miko feels more cuddly than usual, she will have no problem with asking you for some fox cuddles. Fox bodies are a great deal better for cuddles, with the fluffy fur and flexible, small bodies. There's no better thing than curling up on the beanbag in your bedroom on cold days. It adjusts so perfectly to your little, furry bodies, and retains warmth very well. If she's in the mood for scritches, you will be able to tell as she always lies down on the couch, belly up and ready for affection.
Since you molt too, the ever-present hair is not as much of an annoyance for you. It also helps in diffusing the responsibility for stray hairs in food. Both of you have pink fur, so how will you prove it’s hers?
Not transforming into her other form recklessly granted her one big advantage - anonymity. Even if she is a fox of rather refined taste, who said that simple and silly pleasures don't interest her? The rumors of two small foxes zooming around and playing in the woods under the cover of night always bring a smile to her face. Her mind still can't understand just why and how sprinting around and tackling each other is so fun. And when you’ve had enough fun, you can either go back home or find one of your well-furnished hiding spots and spend the night there, curled into each other without a care in the world.
Affection towards you comes naturally to her, obviously, but your Kitsune blood pokes at the more foxy part of her mind. When you’re alone, no matter the form, Miko has a tendency to nibble on you. It can be your shoulder, your lip, ear or finger. Her teeth are very sharp, true, but her gentleness removes any risk of harm to you. Just this simple and natural (for Kitsune) act tends to get some nice reactions out of you with how openly she admits it. The small, barely visible teeth marks look so good on your skin, so why should she hold herself back?
When the exhaustion from your secret zoomies kicks in, Miko will gladly have you climb up on the roof of your residence and stargaze. A single blanket and your hand in hers improves on the experience, changing it from grim and lonely to comforting and familiar. Four hundred years is a lot of time, but one day, both of you will roam the skies as Kitsune Ascendants, together, for as long as the universe itself exists. Miko never stops the dreamy sigh from escaping her lips while considering the future you two have before you. Perhaps, with enough time, you will even become genuine fox deities.
For now, however, using life for all it's worth seems like a sound plan. Whenever a particular gust of boredom hits you, Miko will coax you into participating in her schemes. Her favorite type of activity is creating problems in the shrine - especially those of the "What would happen if Lady Guuji saw this?!" variety. As the shrine maidens would struggle to solve the conundrum, you and Miko would wait in your fox forms, hidden in some dark nook of the shrine, listening and waiting for the right moment. When it eventually comes, you would emerge from the hiding spot and turn back into human forms behind a corner, and approach the maiden seemingly out of nowhere. The looks of terror on their faces are sure to stick in her mind for weeks, if not months to come.
Of course, turning into inanimate objects is also a possibility, but is a lot more risky. Since there's no mobility to be had, an escape in case of someone trying to use the item for its intended purpose, oblivious to the fact that it's actually you and Miko playing a prank would require a shift back to human form, which in turn would reveal Miko's fairly childish sense of humor. The only people she can fool recklessly are the maids, but they've learned by now that, in a Kitsune's home, nothing is as it seems. Pranking you is out of the question since you can easily pick up her scent, though it doesn't mean that she won't try to mask it with perfume or cook distractingly delicious food. Beware!
Occasionally, when you wrap your tails around each other and love for the other fills you to the absolute limit, you might just experience shared dreams. Your adventures are very varied in activities and locations, but all have just one thing in common - you.
Having and raising kids, especially as many as you were gifted with, is an enormous task, but as most things in life, does not go without its benefits. They are cute, amusingly chaotic and so lovely. They way they stalk finches and other birds, their irises expanding before pouncing and failing to catch it never fails to make her chuckle. Their play fights look concerning, but Miko knows better than to break them up. A few bruises and scratches never killed anyone. No matter what they do or what form they take, they are always eight balls of pure, chaotic Kitsune energy.
Even if their stamina for spreading entropy is baffling, it's not infinite. They will drag themselves home eventually, dirty, exhausted, but absolutely happy - as children in that state usually are. After a big meal and a thorough bath, the kids will turn into their animal forms and snuggle up to you and Miko, thus forming a big pile of fur, ears, tails and snouts. It's extremely cozy, warm and relaxing, but the sheer amount of Kitsune makes it hard to crawl out of it in the morning. That said, getting a bigger beanbag is a good idea - who said those eight are the last kids Miko wants?

It’s such a refreshment, to have someone who perfectly fits her needs. The chemistry between the two of you is natural, as in a world of noisy humans, feline blood guarantees at least a little quiet.
Sure, she loves her brothers, but even they tend to be louder than she can take. Moving to your house was a notable step up in Lynette’s overall living comfort. Your movements, as silent and graceful as hers, never disturb her sleep nor catch her attention. Although for a child of The House that would be concerning, she never once caught you lying or acting even slightly suspicious.
Speaking of silence, most onlookers would never guess that you’re a couple if they were to examine your average day. Very few words are exchanged between you - your tails and ears, as well as subtle facial expressions, can signal almost everything. The right gaze into your eyes can get her exactly where she wants to be - be that an outing to a cafe, a cuddle session or an intimate moment - without the need to utter a single word. Frequently, your house is filled with nothing but the silent ticking of the clock.
Having never experienced real intimacy, Lynette longs for your touch. She likes her cuddles tight and warm. There is no need for a fireplace to comfort her when she can snuggle into your arms and rest on your chest. The heat radiating from you is addictive, just as the rhythmic beating of your heart and gentle breathing are. Your touch is precise and skilled, scratching and caressing just the right spots to make her drowsy just after a few moments. What’s even more wonderful is the simple fact that you are nocturnal as well, meaning that you will never judge or get upset over her sleeping most of the day. Napping is her favorite activity, and should you join her, feels like heaven.
Night is when you truly feel at home. The delightful stillness of the capital encourages exploration of the streets, now free of the crowds and bothersome noise. For somebody as agile as you two, scaling the outer walls is no problem, so the highest tier tends to be your hangout spot. Thanks to the wonders of portable kettles, it’s quite easy to have tea in the moonlight with Lynette, along with delectable biscuits. The nightly chill helps cool down the beverage, and in your excellent company, time flies by at breakneck speed. Before long, the sun rises again, and the Court Of Fontaine awakes. It’s not as much of a problem as it is an annoyance.
Being in a similar body to her means you face the same problems as she does, as well as share a few preferences. Your lifelong enjoyment of fish dishes means your skill in cooking them is up to par. Even despite being able to cook various exquisite and complex meals, such as the renowned Squirrel Fish, Lynette tends to ask for mostly simple salmon sushi. The strong taste of the raw fish coupled with the gentle base of rice tickles her taste buds in all the right ways.
When it comes to ear and tail hygiene, she prefers to do it herself, but the care you provide on demand is undeniably pleasant. Lynette would much rather groom yours, without much real thought behind the reason as to why. Perhaps interacting with your unique features eases the feeling of standing out from the crowd?
Sometimes, instead of a standard kiss, she might bump your cheek or touch your nose with hers. It's a silly little gesture, one that she will do her best to keep under wraps. One morning, however, somnolent Lynette did just that while greeting you in her family home. Luck had it that Freminet was the only witness… What would be if Lyney saw it? She wouldn't hear the end of it for at least a week, that's certain.
Lynette is no stranger to catnip. Her sense of smell is as developed as that of a cat, and the plant still activates her hormones all the same. The magician used it only on a handful of occasions, scared of both clouding her mind and her brothers finding out. Now that she lives with you, the threat of the latter is no more, and she can enjoy her narcotic with you in privacy. Though the sober Lynette is reserved, the high Lynette is an absolute cuddlebug with her purring matching the dishwasher in volume. The sleep afterwards remains one of the best things in life in her opinion.
Just use it in moderation. Addiction to catnip is a real problem amongst the feline population, and she doesn't want either of you going down that path.

“What the hell?!” Y/N shrieked, jumping away from Remus. She stared at him with wide eyes, waiting for him to do it again.
The boys stared at him, too. They’d never seen Remus act like this before. “Rem,” Sirius whispered, his brows furrowed. Remus, possessive? He never thought he’d see the day.
“Okay, No,” Y/N said and moved further away from this. “If you’re going to be like this, you will be attending tea alone, Prince Remus. Good day!” She said and bowed. After that, Y/N turned to Sir James. “Please, take me back to my room,” she said.
James gave Remus a look, one eyebrow raised, pushed his glasses up his nose and offered his arm to Y/N. Glaring at Remus, Y/N took his arm and allowed James lead her back towards the castle.
When Remus nodded, James took Y/N back towards the castle. He knew that look meant something, just not what it meant. Remus had something up his sleeve, James knew, he just wasn’t sure he wanted to know what it was.
“Ugh, I can’t believe him!” Y/N expressed as soon as they were far enough away. “I mean, how can you be that much of a… a…” But she couldn’t find the word, letting out a frustrated scream.
“Your highness,” James began, but Y/N held up her hands, stopping him.
“Just Y/N, remember?”
He sucked in a breath. “Y/N, I’ve never seen him do anything like that before,” James said. “I swear to you, he didn’t mean anything by it.”
Before James could say anything more, Y/N stopped walking. They were in an empty corridor, an alcove beside them. The next second James was in the alcove, Y/N’s lips against his. For a second, he didn’t kiss back, but then he did, his hands on her waist. Y/N was slow and gentle and James let her lead.
It must have been minutes before she pulled away. “I knew it,” she whispered and stepped out of the alcove. “I fucking knew it. You’re the guard to my future husband, yet you kissed me back.”
“Y/N”
“Better hope that Prince of yours gets his act together, James.”
***
Y/N didn’t know what was going through her head. Sure, all he did was growl at her, but wait, he fucking growled at her! Her face became hot as she thought about it again. “Ass,” She whispered as she walked over to her window.
They were still down there, Remus and Sirius. Y/N couldn’t hear what they were saying, but they were very animated.
Distracted, good. Y/N changed out of her dress, really dressing down. She donned pants and a hat, hiding herself. “Lily?” She shouted, and, when she got no response, she walked out of her room.
Y/N hoped the queen had Lily busy doing something enjoyable. Because, if not, Y/N was about to get her in a boat load of trouble.
With the hat covering her head, Y/N headed out of the castle. Nobody stopped her, nobody forced her to bring an escort. She practically skipped her way out of the castle and down to the town.
The tavern where she first met Sirius was full of life. People celebrating. Y/N didn’t know what they were celebrating, but she joined in. She found a small group of maidens in the tavern, bought them a couple of drinks and instantly made friends with them.
“It’s a joyous day!” The maiden shouted and climbed onto the table. She held out the drink in front of her and began dancing, pulling Y/N up with her. Y/N cheered, but she didn’t know why.
Stepping down from the table, Y/N turned to another one of the maidens. “What are we celebrating?” She asked, taking a swig of her drink.
“The castle is throwing a ball! The entire kingdom has been invited!”
Y/N froze up. The castle. Throwing a ball. It was most definitely for her. And she’d have to be there with Remus. The man she had just run away from. “What’s the matter?” Asked the maiden.
Shaking her head, Y/N finished off her drink at an impressive speed. It was incredible, how quickly it disappeared. “Who wants another!” She shouted across the tavern and everybody cheered once again.
***
Remus could hear the tavern before he could see it.
When the princess was discovered missing, Sirius admitted he could’ve known where she was. The three of them dressed down, became unrecognisable to the people of the town, and walked down to the tavern.
When Remus walked in, Y/N was standing on a table. He clocked her instantly, but Y/N remained unaware. Remus pulled Sirius close. "Catch her here a lot?" He asked and Sirius shook his head, his hair bouncing everywhere.
But he could understand it now - they both could. There was no harm in trying to live a little before becoming tied to a man you hardly knew.
After a few minutes of all three boys trying to navigate around the patrons of the tavern, Y/N spotted them. They clearly weren't regulars, with little to no idea how to react in an environment such as this. Back home, Y/N was the one to get the crowds up and singing. She thrived in this joyous chaos.
In her head, Y/N screamed at herself to turn and run. To get lost in the woods. But she stayed, her legs moving her closer to the bar.
"What can I get you fellas?" She asked the three of them, fishing through her pockets for coins.
For a minute, Remus said nothing. He called for three ales and refused her coin. Y/N got herself another tankard of something. When they all had their drinks, Remus held out his hand. “I’m Remus,” he said and gave her a look. He just had to hope she could pick up what that look meant.
There was a second where Y/N couldn’t work out whether he was joking or not. There was no way he didn’t know it was her, not since her hat had gone missing in the crowd. But then Y/N picked up on the look. “Y/N, pleasure to meet you,” she said and shook his hand.
Now you, dear reader, may be wondering what’s going on. What is Remus thinking, and why is he pretending to not know Y/N? How are they going to tell everybody that the princess has been found? My instincts tell me to leave things on a cliffhanger, but I’m not that much of a bitch.
Remus hadn’t thought about what he was going to do when Y/N finally noticed him. But his plan went like this: When she finally saw him he was going to pretend like they were strangers, act as though they had never met. Get to know each other outside of all of the formality. For this afternoon they wouldn’t be royal. He’d be getting the tea he’d wanted to attend, but in the form of ale.
James and Sirius stepped back. It wasn’t their place to interrupt, to pull Y/N’s attention away from Remus. They watched from afar as the pair began talking, taking a swig of their drinks between every sentence. Several young maidens came up to Sirius and James, but they shook their heads and sent them on their way. Both men knew what they wanted and they didn’t know how to settle for anything less.
“Yeah!” Y/N shouted, her drink spilling as she leaned towards the bar. Remus had asked her something and she’d instantly burst into a story from her childhood. “We were riding through the forest and, I shit you not, I saw a fairy! Flew right in front of me!”
Remus laughed. It wasn’t impossible, he’d be the first to tell you that. “Well, when I was a kid, I went into the woods, and–”
But he wasn’t supposed to say that. He stopped himself before he said too much, before he revealed what he really was.
“You know what, Y/N? I think I’d like to take you home.”
Things became slightly real then, for the both of them. But in her intoxicated state, Y/N didn’t notice. “I think you should kiss me first, Remus.”
And he did kiss her. They’d kissed before, sure, but this was different. They were strangers now, Remus supposed. But her tongue was down his throat and Remus knew he’d never get enough of it.

Jaune Vol 10 Character Analysis
You know what I planned to make this a few pages long, but screw it, let’s talk about it. In Volume 10, I want Jaune to have that same energy back in Volumes 9 and 6. I’m sorry, but after everything Jaune has been through should not go back to being a comic relief character. No, not a chance, considering they're in the kingdom of Vacuo.
Vacuo, the desert kingdom might as well be the crime invested, savage, and brutal nation in all of Remnant. And this was the best place to bring thousands of people to? Imagine the amount of stress Jaune will be under due to the amount of work needed just to have stability. And he just got back from the Ever After. Imagine how hard it will be for him to readjust to Remnant, especially if the people start losing faith in the hunters. Not only that despite being reverted to the age he left in, he still is mentally older than everyone else.
Remember what Jaune’s mother told him, “A stranger is a friend you haven't met yet.” Well, that’s debatable now after being betrayed by so many people. So imagine Jaune thinking twice about trusting anyone, regardless of good intentions. Hell, have him question Emerald so she can prove herself or his allies for a change considering they barely do anything for him. Either way, Jaune… won’t be as trusting as before.
Next, after failing his friends multiple times at least story-wise…Jaune might as well be more obsessed with getting stronger than ever before. Even though Weiss, Yang, and Blake slightly helped him, it’s not enough to help him move past the amount of pain he went through like isolation, paranoia, and self-doubt. These things can make Jaune question himself, and lead him to want to quit, leaving the hunter world for good. Or die. This isn’t a good idea, considering Jaune is needed and is a hero in other people's eyes. (Jaune has been doing a better job than most characters, despite being the weakest in the group.)
Sadly, his friends may be unable to talk to him about it. I’m talking about Ren and Nora, mainly due to relating. But it's because they are both horrible teammates.
Okay, I explain my beef with these two. Ren and Nora, I tolerated at the beginning volumes. However, after volumes four to eight, I got frustrated with them enough that I didn’t mind if either of them or both of them died. Jaune always has to be there for both of them but neither is there for him when he truly needs them. I get it he is their leader but still. And before you all say “Ren and Nora have moments with Jaune.” My counterpoint is that most of them are forgettable and were outweighed by their other actions. Don’t believe me? Then let us discuss the volumes.
In volume four, it’s crazy that Ruby knows what Jaune has been doing more than his team. Let’s not forget during a fight with a Nuckalavee they were conversing while Jaune and Ruby were fighting for their lives. Look I understand, the Nuckalavee killed Ren’s parents but still. And don’t get me started on how they were willing to stand aside in the fight with Tyrian. At least Jaune was trying to help in response to Ruby jumping in between Qrow and Tyrian’s fight by herself.
Volume five, not going to lie, Nora was worried about Jaune but that was in a trap set up by Cinder and Raven. And to make matters worse they fought one man together while Jaune faced a maiden alone. Then when Jaune was healing Weiss, not knowing how long it would take, the moment Ren got hurt, Nora rushed in to help him, knowing Jaune may need protection. (I know it was under Jaune’s orders but come on.)
Volume six…. No. Let us skip this because even though it was a bad time, at least Nora and Ren said the sweetest thing ever. It’s too bad I can’t say those same words held up for volume seven. Nora and Ren were barely with Jaune at all. Jaune is more with Oscar than they were combined. Then they were useless in the fight with Neo and argued half the volume onto volume eight.
In volume eight, I truly started hating these two even more. Nora seems to care more about Oscar, to the where she has hugged him more than once, while I don’t recall one time she ever hugs Jaune. So far, in many volumes, she was straight-up rude to him. And even when he and Ren return from almost certain death she never says “Hi” and after healing her, Nora and Ren start having their moment again. Nora never said “Thank you”.
Speaking of Ren, we can’t forget this man calling Jaune out like he did, over something they all agreed to do. Understand, the circumstances they were in. Oscar got kidnapped by an unknown enemy. They were in a snow field with no shelter insight and they could die. All while Oscar was in enemy clutches with no way to reach him. With the facts in mind, was addressing any of what Ren said, important? “No. Why?” because not only was it not of any importance, there were too many counterpoints to his statements.
And what makes this worse, is when the portal to Vacuo, appears before them, they immediately use Jaune as a test subject instead of Emerald. Nope, these two are unless to Jaune if he starts going on the deep end. Emerald and Oscar might be a better choice than either of them. Hell, I’ll take the red-haired woman over them. I want Raven to talk to him or at least Qrow.
I want Raven to come back and talk to him, due to being one of the same. The only difference is Jaune’s actions were based on circumstances, while Raven’s were purely by choice. Imagine Raven telling Jaune every cruel thing she’s ever done. And how some of the decisions she’s made in her life, caused her more grief and hardship than good. She tells Jaune not to make the same mistakes she did. Telling him to press forward despite everything he has gone through. I wouldn’t mind if Raven bothers to train him if Jaune asks of her. And if that can't happen then give that role to Qrow. However, there is one person Jaune needs to stay away from and kill. Tyrian.
Tyrian is one of those toxic individuals, who will use and manipulate people to do things recklessly. Like I said before, the people's faith in the hunters could be diminishing. People like Tyrian will take advantage of this by using violence and chaos as a solution. When it's simply him pushing his own agenda. Tyrian was already interested in Jaune, but he never expressed why. Tyrian, in theory was like Jaune but life changed him somehow to be a monster. Jaune who's already close to insanity might as well be another reason fueling Tyrian’s curiosity. Tyrian wants to see how long it will take to break the knight’s spirit until he becomes just like him. Or push him to become another ally for Salem. Basically, instead of like Marco where he just forgets and moves on with his life, Jaune, I agree, becomes more like Samurai Jack. Or in this case, Odysseus, who I probably talk about later.
Samurai Jack, as many know was a Samurai, sent to the future and out for revenge against a demon known as Aku. He has experienced multiple failures, especially trying to find a way home to the past. Soon, he lost all chances of getting home to his family. And to make matters worse, he loses his sword and his way. This led to Jack being on the run and hiding from Aku. Sending him into a downward spiral as he felt all hope was lost. It wasn't until he met Ashi and remembered the good he had done for the people is when he rose to fight again, overcoming his demons. Odysseus, on the other hand, learns a different lesson. Again later.
If that’s the direction Jaune’s character is taking, then these are the requirements. Jaune moves on and embraces the reality that he isn’t the same person he once was before the Ever After. And he needs to find his strength once again. Planning and making better choices than the supposed headmasters and rulers of the world. And the best way to do that is to work on himself while separating from the group. What I’m theorizing is, when Alyx said “You’re not meant to be the hero.”, what could she have meant by it? Probably because while being a hero is good, being a ruler and leader for the people is a lot better.

Hi there, I wanted to request a second part for your a/b/o eddie munson fic where the reader is pregnant. The idea was eddie being protective of the reader and just helping reader around comforting him when he needed it. When the baby comes eddie is the sweetest dad and partner ever. Sorry if this not too specific and if you don't feel comfortable writing it, it's cool. Thank you ❤️
Dude you're fine dw
X
After (name) told Eddie he was pregnant the Alpha was far more protective, not letting (name) hold anything heavier than a cup and scenting him whenever he could and even bringing him to D&D nights or hosting them at their house to make sure his mate was in his line of sight.
Be also had Dustin and his friends help out whenever they could though he didn't really have to ask Dustin, the teenager was more than happy to help his older brother.
At the 21 week mark (name) felt his baby kick for the first time, dropping his glass at the sudden shock and thankful the cup was plastic as Eddie ran into the room in a panic "fuck! You ok?!" As the others ran out as well to see (name) staring at his stomach in awe "he kicked..." He said softly and Eddie stared back at him "he did?"
(Name) gently took his hands and placed them where he felt the kick and after a minute Eddie felt a little foot against his hand "holy shit..." Eddie was in awe as the others gathered around and (name) let them feel "whoa, that's a weird feeling" Lukas mumbled and (name) chuckled at his words "go sit down baby, we can clean this up" Eddie finally said as he got his mate another drink.
Something everyone noticed was Eddie maturing far more after he learned about his unborn son, still silly and playful but he was finally becoming an adult.
(Name) was wandering around the malls baby stores with Robin, looking at some clothes "oh god robin!" (Name) said with teary eyes as he held a tiny iron maiden shirt "He can match Eddie!"
"But (name)...look at this" Robin said as she held up a tiny Dungeons and dragons fuzzy onsie with various dice in them in fun colors "oh that's so cute!"
The two ended up leaving with both items and a few others, robin getting him out of there before he cried and lactated again.
"I wonder what he's gonna look like... I hope he has Eddie's eyes" (name) mumbled as he took another bite of his ice cream, the duo taking a break to let (name) rest his feet "all I can imagine is him coming out full vest and perm" Robin laughed and (name) snorted at this playfully.
When (name) came home he wasn't expecting the entire D&D club + Eddie's shop employees Yelling while they set up the baby room, Mike, Steve and Dustin arguing over where they should place shelves while Luke and Will helped Eddie put together frantically and growing frustrated at the stupid instructions.
"What's all this?" (Name) asked as the alphas and betas halted to look at the pregnant Omega and the pups god mother who were staring in a mixture of shock and amusement "babe! You aren't supposed to be back till four!"
"It's four thirty..." (Name) said softly as Eddie came up and immediately put his hands on the omegas belly "what's going on?"
"We were trying to surprise you with the baby room set up..." Mike said awkwardly as the men looked almost shy that they got caught "O-oh..well I can go back and you guys can finish!"
"Don't worry baby, just go relax... What's in the bag?" Eddie asked as he eyed the bags in Robin and (name)s hands and noticed the Cinnabon bag"I got some Cinnabon, you guys can come out and grab one if you like" everyone perked up at this and practically abandoned the task at hand "I also got some more baby stuff... I couldn't help myself!"
The blood and found family gathered in the small kitchen and ate, Eddie having (name) in his lap and his alpha instincts began showing as he fed his mate but no one commented knowing it was common for alphas to act like this with a pregnant omega, hell half the room struggled not to feed (name) who just looked almost dazed
(Name) was eight months pregnant as he waddled into the shop, greeting some people he knew as he carried Eddie's lunch, summer had begun and the shop was packed as the Satan panic had long died out.
Dustin and the others took a part time job at the shop, Eddie thankful for the extra hands while Max and Eleven came in every so often to annoy them.
"Dusty where's Eddie?" (Name) asked with a slight grunt while avoiding anything hitting his bump, the teens immediately swarming the Omega and taking the stuff of his hands "dude you're way too pregnant to be walking out and about! Eddie told me you're supposed to be resting!" Dustin scolded his elder brother who pinched him in turn "I have been laying down all day, he forgot his lunch and don't worry! Mom drove me!" (Name) said happily and got the teens to stop crowding him "baby? What are you doing here?" Eddie said as he popped from the back area, monitoring the board game area when he smelt (name)s sweet honey and (scent/scents) pharamones the second he entered the store even over the smell of b.o and teens who couldn't control their pharamones.
"You forgot your lunch, don't worry my mom drove me here" (name) said with a huff as he let his alpha hold him close "you should be resting" Eddie was constantly worried and Dustin noticed the look on his brothers face and took a step back.
He hadn't seen that look since the time billy tried to get into (name)s pants back in (name)s high school days.
"I sat all day! I'm fine!" He snapped back and Eddie didn't know what to do, (name) was never really the barky type of person more soft and up beat.
"I know baby but ---"
"I just wanted to see you and give you your lunch!" (Name) said as his anger shifted to sadness and tears welled up in his eyes.
This was something Eddie knew how to deal with, the omegas constant mood shifts were common at the munson household and gently he led (name) to the employee area and set him in his lap and began crooning and scenting the Omega to calm him down "shhh it's ok sweetheart"
"I-Im sorry Eddie, I'm a mess" (name) cried out as he hid his face in his alphas neck, clinging to him while Eddie rubbed his bump "it's on baby, it's hard on you"
Eventually (name) calmed down and Eddie smiled at him, the smile that made (name) fall for him.
"There's my angel" Eddie said softly as he kissed (name) gently "my shift ends in two hours, how about you get us some snacks and when I get off we can watch a movie and I rub your feet"
He could hear (name) purr at the offer and grind slightly against him only to get stopped "not here baby" ever since (name) got pregnant be was insatiable in more than one way and Eddie was kind of loving it.
"Later?"
"I promise angel, is your mom still here?"
"I think she had to go see my aunt..."
"Wheeler!" Eddie yelled out and Mike popped his head in "yeah?"
"Drive (name) to the store and then home yeah?"
Mike didn't bother arguing as he helped (name) out of the store, letting the Omega fix his hair instinctively.
It was 2 am when (name)s water broke, four days before the due date "EDDIE!" (Name) yelled panicked as his mate jumped up "what?!"
"He's coming!"
"Who? oh shit!" Eddie immediately went into action and got the go bag, helping (name) out of bed before the two managed to get to the car, Eddie driving like a mad man to the hospital only to get pulled over half way by Hop.
"Why the hell are you driving so fast?!" Hop asked incredulously as he flashed a light in "the baby is coming!" Eddie panicked and hop looked over to see an in pain (name) "shit--"
"Hop dismissed them and Eddie went back to driving to the hospital.
Due to being a male Omega (name) had a C-section, a little loopy from the pain meds he held his son close, a spitting image of Eddie, short curly brown tuffs of hair and those warm chocolate eyes "he's so small..." Eddie said softly as he gently touched the babes chubby cheek "our little pup..."
"God he's beautiful"

So what even is “Renegade Au?”
So people have been wondering what exactly the Renegade Au is, the very short of it is basically “What if Jaune and Cinder bonded during Beacon?” With the exception of a few character changes, the Renegade Au follows closely to the canon story line up until after the Batlle of Haven. (Had to dial Adam WAY back from his original canon writing in order for him to work in this lol In Renegades he’s less of a psychotic abusive ex boyfriend and more like the love child of Prince Zuko and Kevin Eleven.)
This Au was something I used to think about all the time back in the day when Volume Six was just coming out, but I didn’t have the skills or time to write about it. I eventually put it to the back of my mind and eventually was inspired to write JNRZ Au!
The Renegade Au is mentally stored away in eight different parts, and the posts I’ve recently been making with Jaune, Cinder, Adam, and Neo, this takes place in Part 4 smack dab in the middle of the whole story. Now, these are going to be massively edited summaries of the first four parts of the Au, and will be missing a whole lot of certain nuances and important moments, but pretty much give gist of what led up to the formation of the Renegades.
Part 1: Beacon. Jaune and Cinder meet and essentially become friends during the Vytal Festival event of Volume 2 and 3. They have friendly banter, assist each other with training and advice, and even go on a couple of “sort of dates”. Cinder, knowing how this is going to end, makes it clear to Jaune that she's not interested in anything serious. Despite this, they continue to spend time together and almost become intimate at one point. In contrast to the typical Knightfall Beacon narrative, Cinder STILL goes through with the plan, almost blowing it by giving Jaune the “Don’t come to school tomorrow”. The Fall of Beacon still takes place, Pyrrha dies, and Cinder gets annihilated by Ruby's Silver Eyes. The only real major difference is that Jaune is forced to kill Penny on national television instead of Pyrrha. (Does that mean I kinda called it several years in advance???)
Part 2: Wanderers. In this section, the events of Volume 4 and 5 are closely followed as Team RNJR journeys through Mistral while Salem's gang continues their usual schemes. The main focus of this part, however, is on how Jaune and Cinder are coping with the aftermath of the Beacon incident. While Cinder recovers from the effects of the Silver Eyes and trains to master her Maiden powers, she finds that her success is a hollow victory that leaves her with conflicting emotions and a frightening realization that she may never be truly satisfied. On the other hand, Jaune is fixated on the idea of killing Cinder, having honed his Aura-enhancing techniques to the point where he can now start pulling off superhuman strength feats. The story reaches a climax in Part 2 with the Battle of Haven, where Jaune and Cinder engage in a 1v1 fight that tears up an entire wing of the school. Despite ultimately overpowering Jaune, Cinder spares his life, and goes down to the vault to get owned by Raven.
Part 3: Reconciliation. begins right after the Battle of Haven and continues into Volume 6, with a dying Cinder contacting Jaune on his scroll, which she remembers from their time at Beacon. Instead of seeking revenge, Jaune finds Cinder by the riverbed and uses his newly discovered Semblance to heal her. Despite still harboring hatred towards Cinder, Jaune realizes that he felt emptier when he thought she was gone, so he can't bring himself to kill her even when she's at her most vulnerable. In return for saving her life, Cinder offers to help Jaune in any way she can. They make a deal that Cinder will help Jaune find Pyrrha's parents so that he can properly pay his respects and grieve for her passing. Together, they embark on a journey across Mistral, overcoming obstacles and emotional barriers, and having plenty of screaming, crying, and heart-to-heart conversations. Eventually, they find Pyrrha's parents at the southernmost point of Mistral (Instead of Argus this time), where Cinder shares Pyrrha's last words and her own regrets, stopping short of confessing to murdering her. From this moment here, Jaune and Cinder have pretty much given closure to their shared past and have essentially started back at square one.
Part 4: Renegades. This part of the story takes place in Volume 7, specifically during the four or five months skipped over in the original show before Salem's attack on Atlas. It begins with Jaune and Cinder dining in a dive bar for thugs and rogues when news of a record-breaking bounty on their heads, placed upon them by Clay Forester, a creepy and mysterious Grimm Poacher they met and fought during part, who also has a strange fixation on Cinder.bThe entire block erupts into chaos as bounty hunters, criminals, Jaune and Cinder, along with the unexpected aid of Adam Taurus (There to join up with Cinder) and Neo Politan (Originally there to kill Cinder, they cool now though), fight for survival. After the battle, Neo and Adam express their desire for revenge against Team RWBY. Jaune, having just gone on a journey of forgiveness with Cinder, invites them to join him in forming a new team called The Renegades. Despite Cinder's reluctance, they set out on a journey across Mistral, taking jobs for money and supplies while fighting off every bounty hunter, bandit, and monster that stands in their way on their way to Atlas.
Again, this the TL:DR of what’s happened so far in Renegades Au in terms of the posts I’ve shown so far, so there’s a TON of intricate details missing. When I open Asks back up after this Weekend you are all more than welcome to ask me anything you want about this Au.

Escape to the Underworld.
 Alpha! Hades! Shouta Aizawa x  Omega! Persephone! Reader.
(I don’t own Shouta Aizawa/ Eraserhead. He belongs to Horikoshi Kohei. If this isn’t your cup of tea, blend of spices, or brew of coffee, move on. Reader discretion is advised.)
Tumblr media
TW: kidnapping, coercion, ABO Dynamics, sex scene.
WC: 3,856
Hades was sitting on his throne, observing the underworld, his assistants were on either side of him. He was looking over the current list of freshly dead souls that had made their way into his realm and sighed. With a wave of his hand, he made the list go away.  He pinched the bridge of his nose as he felt the symptoms of his next rut came closer. He looked up when there was a peel of thunder and a bolt of lightning striking the floor of his throne room. He glared at the spot as the tile was now ruined but it would be fixed later. He looked to see his friend appear and he smiled softly. “What brings you here to my realm?” He asked and stood up from his throne and walked down the steps to greet the Sky God. “You know that goddess Persephone you have a crush on? I found out recently that she’s an Omega, I think you should go for it and take her as your wife! Why not? Its about time you got hitched! Also you’ve been a bit tense recently. You should get a mate to help with the monthly stress, you know?” Zeus spoke and slapped the back of the Underworld God. Hades flinched and gave him a thumbs up.
“You know this isn’t a very rational idea but I do like her, alright. Let me get my chariot together and my armor on.” He spoke and left to go put his armor on with the help of one of his assistants while the stable hands assembled his chariot. Once he had his armor on, Hades went to the front steps of his fortress-like castle and mounted his chariot. He spurred his steeds on and rode his way to the surface and the overworld. On the surface, You were sitting in a flower field gathering some flowers to display in your home with your hand maiden nearby. You felt the ground below you rumble and watched as a section of the Earth split open nearby and the very chariot of Hades with the Lord of the Underworld driving the chariot with the four jet-black horses pulling the cart. He flew out of the fissure and ran down the field, the crevasse closing up and disappearing as if it was never there.
You watched the shadowy chariot leave a trail of withered flowers and turn around, heading right for you. You were now terrified. You didn’t know what he wanted and why he was charging his chariot right for you. He drew closer and you didn’t move. You shut your eyes, expecting him to trample you to bits but instead of feeling the pounding of hooves on your flesh and bones, you were scooped up and held close to him. You were close enough to take in his scent. He smelled like cedarwood and mint with an undertone of black coffee and jasmine. This isn’t what you thought he would smell like but you shook the thoughts away and watched as another ravine appeared before you and the chariot plummeted down into the opening in the Earth. You screamed in fear that you’d be crushed and gripped onto his robes. He looked down to you as he drove his chariot down deeper and deeper until they entered the Underworld again, the horses pulling the chariot right alongside the River Styx and to the stables of Hades palace. He stopped the horses and looked to you.
“I know this isn’t the best place that you would expect to be today but welcome to the Underworld. Am I to assume that you know who I am?” He asked and stepped out of the chariot. He offered his hand to you and you took it and he helped you out of the chariot which you appreciated. You looked around before looking back at him. “Why did you bring me here?” You asked him. He looked a little surprised as he held your hand. “Well, for a long time I have had my eye on you.” He spoke and smiled sheepishly.
“So, you have a crush on me? Why didn’t you say something earlier?” You asked him as you gave him a smile. You knew that your mom would be furious about this as she never wanted you to get married. She was probably looking for you right now. You didn’t care. You had been literally swept off your feet by a very handsome Lord of the Underworld and had been proposed to by him all in the same afternoon. Hades then took you inside and gave you a tour of the place. You were amazed by the place. He took you to the throne room and showed you where you would rule by his side for all eternity. You looked to the black marble floor that was inlayed with precious metals and back up to Hades. He kissed your cheek and he took in your scent that you didn’t know you were emitting. He looked to you and kissed you gently before the two of you were interrupted by one of the skeleton guards to be alerted that a minister was ready for the two of you to be wed. You were taken away to your dressing room where there were some spirits waiting to help you into your ebony wedding dress and veil. You let them help you and you looked into a full-length mirror. You looked lovely but you were nervous. You knew that this would be something that would last forever… that’s a long time. you arrived to the marriage which was carried out by Zeus himself. You exchanged your vows and kissed Hades, now binding yourself to him for all eternity. He held your hand as he led you out of the wedding hall and down a few halls and into the honeymoon suite. You looked around the place and you suddenly realized where you were. Your face flushed bright red as Hades led you to the bed.
“We don’t have to do it you know. It’s up to you. I won’t pressure you into doing anything you don’t want to do.” He spoke and began to undress. You watched him unbutton his robes and peel them off layer by layer until he was standing before you shirtless. He walked closer to you and bent down to kiss you gently. You pulled away and pressed your hand against his chest to push him away. “As much as I’d like to do this now, I’m missing home. I miss my mom and I’m sure she’s searching the cosmos for me. Also this place… it’s so void of life. It’s so dead and depressing. Can’t I liven things up a bit around here, especially if I’m to be living her for eternity?” You asked. You saw the courtyard when he gave you a tour of the palace and it made you sad to see nothing but bushes of brambles and thorns covering the place. Hades looked to you as the fireplace In the room crackled on, giving a faint glow to his eyes as he looked at you. He chuckled a little then kissed you on the cheek.
“Of course you can liven things up here. But you should know, this is the land of the dead, my love. How would you like to give life to our realm?” He asked as he sat next to you. “That courtyard you showed me earlier, can I turn it into my own garden?” You asked and he nodded while smiling. “You may have whatever you like… within reason. You may have your own garden if that makes you happy.” He told you and laid back on the bed. You stood up and went to the window that overlooked the River Styx as Charon was pushing is boat to the land of souls that would hopefully be resting in peace. You looked back at your husband and let your face flush deep red. “Can you help me out of my dress? I’d like to change.” You asked. He nodded and helped unlace the corset of the dress and slip the dress off your frame to set it aside. He helped you pick out another dress to change into and you put that dress on. It was a lovely tee-length gown that was a deep purple color with matching crystals of purple agate and jasper stitched into the hemline of the skirt and along the scoop neckline of the bodice. Your husband looked at you and smiled. “You look lovely my dear. Also you smell good too.” He told you with a smirk across his face. “What do I smell like to you?” You asked him. He took in your scent again and smiled. “Bergamot, almond, and vanilla. Didn’t expect that for an Omega such as yourself.” He told you. You didn’t remember telling him what your dynamic but you figured it was your aunt Aphrodite going around telling who was what in her spare time.
“I’m glad you like the smell.” You told him. He kissed you gently. “You’re welcome, my Queen. We should head to the throne room since we aren’t going to do anything here yet.” He told you. He took your hand and led you out of the room and down a series of halls and into a spacious room where there was two black onyx thrones side by side, overlooking the land, the noise of souls wailing outside. You were a bit unnerved by the noise but Hades took his seat in the larger throne, looking at you. “Come and sit. The throne over here is for you.” He told you. You nodded and sat down in the throne next to him. You watched as a crown black as night and made of obsidian inlaid with rubies appeared on your head. You liked the crown but you still thought of your mother who was probably looking frantically throughout the Cosmos for you. You shook the thought off and decided to begin enjoying your new life you’re your new husband. He held your hand as the two of you looked at the view of the Underworld. Over the next few months, you began working on your garden, cultivating many different plants including a small pomegranate orchard that thrived in your garden. You brought some of the first fruits to Hades to show the progress of your garden. The two of you shared the fruit and he kissed you. You kissed him back and he gave you a smirk. “It’s that time of the month for you again, isn’t it?” You asked. He nodded and led you back to their bedroom where he closed and locked the door. You looked at him with the same blush you had on their wedding night. He walked over to you and kissed you again gently, helping peel the layers of the clothes you were wearing when you worked in the garden. He went down to your neck and bit softly, growling lowly in his chest and let his teeth sink deeper into your flesh. You let out a moan, making Hades pulled you closer to him.
He picked you up and laid you down on the bed, kissing you over and over, leaving marks over your neck and collarbone. You felt your mind cloud over with pleasure as he made out with you. Your hands found the belt of his pants and undid them, finding him aroused and ready to give you children. You laid back down and he climbed on top of you, making out with you and slowly spread your legs so he could slide between them and enter your slick-ridden entrance. Once he was in, he pulled you up into a mating press, thrusting into you at a rapid pace, growling like one of the hell hounds he kept in his throne room. He came into you soon after he had hit your g-spot, making you clench around him and prompting him to give you his seed. He dumped his load into you and pulled out slowly, kissing you along your neck, telling you how good you were for him. He laid next to you and put a hand on your lower stomach, kissing your cheek and soon passing out.
A few months pass and you’re out spending the afternoon tending to your garden and leaning back to wipe the sweat from your brow, looking up to see Hades coming out to the garden with a form of refreshment for you. “How are things going out here?” He asked as he set the tray down to help you up to your feet and give you the refreshment. You thanked him and showed him the small pomegranate tree you had been growing and the tree was finally producing the first fruits. You plucked one off and handed it to him.
“Thank you.” He spoke and broke open the fruit, taking some of the seeds and eating them, before handing you some. You took them, not even thinking about it and ate them. You then gathered up your things and put them away in the shed and then joining Hades to walk back inside the castle and you got changed into black floor length dress with rubies along the neckline and the sleeves. You joined Hades in the throne room and you sat next to him on your own throne.
You glanced over at what your husband was doing and saw that Hades was looking at a chart that was showing an increase in dead souls entering the Underworld. Just as you were about to ask him about the rise in dead souls and if you could visit your mother for a little while, Hermes landed in the throne room.  The messenger god approached the thrones and bowed respectfully. “I don’t mean to be rude, but have you noticed the rise in souls of the dead entering your realm, Lord Hades?” Hermes asked. He looked up at Hades then his eyes wandered over to you. “Persephone, It’s your mother that’s behind the rise in deaths. Since you were taken from her, she stopped the growth of all the crops and plants, sending the overworld into a kind of endless cold where nothing can grow. She has said that she won’t make things change until you come back.”
“That’s not good. You should go visit her, my love.” Hades told you. You nodded and stood from the throne, walking over to Hermes so he could guide you out of the Underworld. Before you leave though, Hades leaves his throne to take your hands in his. “My love, Please don’t be sad. I promise to be the best husband for you, I’ll make sure that you will be the best queen, better than the rest, you will be the ruler alongside me as we will rule this realm together, King and Queen of the Dead, and dare I say, you’ll be the highest amongst the goddesses in all of Olympus.” He spoke and kissed the back of your hands. You blushed hard and kissed him deeply before Hermes coughed to interrupt their somewhat long goodbye. Hades, being afraid of his bride never returning to him, he snuck six pomegranate seeds into her skirt pocket, with you being none the wiser. You took the arm of Hermes and he shot off out of the Underworld and took you to the overworld, and back to your mother.
Hades watched as you left, and once you were out of sight, he felt cold and alone again. He frowned and balled his fist, entering the castle again and taking up his throne again as nothing had ever happened. But deep down inside, he deeply missed you. He wanted you back but he knew that he would have to wait until you came back. Back on the surface, you were confused as you thought you didn’t leave the Underworld. The Overworld now looked like a cold and desolate wasteland. Hermes took you to the nearby and newly constructed temple to your mother, Demeter. She was hiding in said temple as she was full of sorrow that you were gone. Once you set foot on the frigid and oxidized copper of the steps to the temple, some plants grew around your feet, a symbol of you being a daughter of the goddess of the Harvest. Demeter looked up at you and was happy to see you. She ran to you and held you in her embrace, leaving a trail of sunflowers to behind her. You hugged her back and took in your mother’s calming scent of orange blossom, cloves, and cinnamon as the two of you were reunited. Soon, she pulled away from you to get a look at you.
“Where have you been? I’ve been searching the Cosmos for you.” She spoke. “Well, it’s an interesting story.” You told her and Demeter led you inside to talk. You told your mom of how you were taken by Hades how his brother Zeus had ordered for the two of you to be married. Demeter wasn’t happy about this but Hermes was also explaining to her that you can’t be away from the Underworld for too long. Then with a bolt of lighting, Zeus appears to tell Demeter that you will have to spend third to half a year away from her in the underworld since Hades slipped the pomegranate seeds into your pocket, binding you to his realm.
 Demeter also didn’t like this but she didn’t care. She had you back and that was enough to make her happy enough to stop the endless cold and bring back the growth of everything, stopping the death of all the humans.
You spent the next few months with your mom, enjoying the flowers and the sunshine. But you missed your husband. You wrote Hades a letter, telling him about the Overworld and how you missed him. You were counting the days until you could return to him, as you wanted to be by his side desperately.  You then sent the letter off with Hermes to your husband, hoping to see him soon. The days began to grow shorter, yet your mother kept the growth of all plants going for the humans to finish their autumn harvests. You watched as Apollo rode his chariot over the horizon and down past the mountains as Artemis began her hunt for the night. You looked to your mother who had returned to her temple for the evening and exhaled. “Mother, I should return to Hades soon. I feel like my time here on the surface will soon be over.” You told her as the two of you settled down for dinner even though you didn’t need to eat.
“I am aware of that. I’d hate to see you leave again, but I know it must happen eventually.” She spoke and picked at some of the grains on her plate. You looked down at your plate and ate some as well, thankful that people still sent you offerings. After dinner, you went to sleep… well tried to sleep. Your mind still raced with thoughts of your husband and that you would soon be reunited with him. You waited until the beginning rays of Apollo’s chariot peeked over the mountains for you to sneak out of the temple, leaving a note for your mother and summoned Hermes to take you back to the Underworld.
You saw Hermes appear before you, rubbing his eyes as heh wasn’t awake yet. Once he saw who had summoned him, he straightened up. “Persephone, what may I do for the Queen of the Dead?” He asked. “I’d liked to go back to the Underworld. Please take me there.” You spoke and handed him a drachma, the currency of the Gods and the humans below. It was also a coin used to give Charon, the ferryman that guided the souls of the dead to the Underworld via the River Styx. Hermes took the coin and hooked your arm with his and leapt into the sky. You held onto him before he dove down, opening another crevasse in the Earth and plunging into it, taking you back to the fiery hellscape that you called home. You closed your eyes until you were stopped at the front steps of the palace. You thanked Hermes and walked up the steps and into the palace where you were greeted by two of the Hellhounds that your husband kept. You weren’t scared of them and you approached them, petting their heads, and receiving pleasant whines from them.
“Who dares ent-“ You heard Hades’s voice sound as he emerged from the maze of hallways that was the interior of his palace, he stopped when he saw you, his bident dropping and clanging loudly when it made contact with the dark tile of the floor. You ran to him and hugged him tightly. He held you close to his body as heh didn’t want to let you go. He looked at you for a moment then kissed your head. “You’re a sight for sore eyes. You don’t know how much I’ve missed you these past few months.” He told you. “I’ve missed you too.” You responded and kissed him again. He looked horrible without you. “I got your letters each day. They kept me going while you were gone.” He told you. this made you smile You cupped his face with your hand and he held it against his skin. “I’m glad they helped you. I’m just glad to be back down here.” You told him. “Let’s get you cleaned up. You look like a mess.” You told him as his hair was long and unkempt. He also had dark circles under his eyes and he had let his beard grow out. He followed you to the bathroom where you washed his hair and cut it, you also gave his beard a trim and cooked a meal for the two of you to eat.  After all of this, he was passed out with his head in your lap, while the two of you were cuddling in your bedroom.
You ran your fingers through his hair, enjoying this life you now had, spending half the year on the surface and the other half down here with your husband.  You wouldn’t change a thing about these changes as you were happy. You rested your head against the headboard and let your eyes close.  You felt good being the bride of Hades, maybe one day you’d have a child with him, give him an heir one day. But that was in the future. You now just had to adjust to the change in the seasons… the changes in your life. The end.

Mount Shasta- April 2022
“DJ(JD?) was hung today. He was a good boy.”
Tumblr media
The first time I read that line was on the first trip I brought Erin up to spend time alone with my grandparents. On the bottom shelf of the bedside table in the room we slept in, that’s where the book was.
That’s my grandma’s aunt’s journal she kept on their homestead. Both my grandma and grandpa grew up there. I can’t remember if his name was DJ or JD -I should have written it down- he was my grandma’s cousin. Johnson was his last name, that is my grandmother’s maiden name too.
It was the books we bought on this trip together that I think helped me solve who he was.
Tumblr media
It was another fire that brought us to where we live today. A literal fire. The 2021 Greenwood fire. The lake we live on now is a seaport, the lodge needed people to help feed the firefighters they were housing. They were still open and operating as well. I served in the restaurant, we saved up enough to take our first vacation alone together.
I wanted to see the ocean. I’ve never seen it before. We were going on a road trip to California. First stop would be Omaha to see family, and Jimmy/his girlfriend. We rented a car and drove the first 13 hours.
This squirrel didn’t want Erin’s trash in the can.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In Iowa we drove next to a tornado. The winds at the rest stop were so strong they tore the flag.
Tumblr media
We spent the night at Jimmy’s and his now fiancé’s place our first night. Jimmy constantly brings up how embarrassed he is of their dog, Lemon, and how she treated me when we finally met in person for the first time. Just stared at me and made grumbling chirps. Single barked, and left uninterested. Sour. She warmed up, you just have to be patient.
The four of us shared food, went to the zoo, then parted ways. Erin and I went to my parent’s house. My brother and his wife came too. We all looked together at some pictures my dad put on a flash drive for me to take with.
One of those was of the golden orb weaver that would visit us at our garden year after year, I was thrilled. Vibrating. I didn’t even ask him to do this, and it was one of the few “photos of a photo” that he put on that flash drive.
Tumblr media
My dad taught me about leaving bread crumbs.
He loves symbolism. He also has to process and communicate differently than when I was a child, has for almost two decades now. There’s nothing wrong with that.
My dad taught me to catch grasshoppers, and give them to the orb weavers. The grasshoppers were eating our vegetables. It was such a rush pouncing on them, and fascinating to watch the orb weavers spin around and around.
Spiders spin their webs with intent. They are traps for fuel. Some people are scared of spiders, but they are good omens. Blood drinking insects, vegetation eating insects, things that steal from humans… all can fall into an orb weaver’s trap.
What was my dad telling me. Was he wanting me to become the orb weaver? Evolve and spin my dreams and webs to help people? Trap the bugs myself?
It doesn’t feel right.
Did he want me to find an orb weaver? Offer them grasshoppers that would in some weird way, help humanity? Protect the gardens.
My mom’s voice is warning me. The first nightmare I ever had was when I was around four or five. In real life, she caught me in the garden feeding the orb weavers. Panic and scolding.
“What are you doing?! Spiders are venomous, if you get bit you will die.”
She didn’t give me time to explain. Dad taught me how to identify an orb weaver versus a black widow by their bodies, legs, and webs. I knew what not to feed.
We went inside and washed my hands. That night I had my first nightmare, a giant tarantula the size of a t-rex was crushing all the trailers in the park. I was so afraid, when I woke up I felt silly though. Tarantulas can’t get that big, can they?
I have to find the right type of spider. I don’t know how to find my orb weavers, my dad’s mind changed before we could graduate from identifying spiders to people.

ok I'm finally doing it I'm finally drafting up this post. if you've spoken to me about shaman king literally ever or even followed this blog for more than two days you know this one
goose's Renmei Thoughts™ aka:
Tumblr media
(thanks @gelatinous-jellyfish for making me this wonderful image a while back)
(quick explanation for everyone unaware, renmei is the canon relationship between iron maiden jeanne and tao ren from the sk sequels. I never explain this in the post but if you want to read it and don't know that's what this is. also I mention this takei guy a lot he's the mangaka)
so pov you're me circa feburary 2022, currently unaware of the kzb manga ending or sequels because you got into sk 6 months ago and the 2021 anime isn't over yet. you're innocently googling your girl jeanne for idk drawing references or whatever and BOOM autocomplete drops the most confusing spoiler of all time on you
that's how I remember finding out renmei exists, and at the time I'm pretty sure I was like "oh this must just be a popular het pairing from the Olden Days or something it'd be ridiculous if that was-" it was it was canon. cue a terrible amount of suffering april 21st 2022 when episode 52 of the new anime aired and it was what it is
of course I was upset but in an attempt to not be That One Annoying Fandom Person I sat down and thought about it and gave the concept the benefit of the doubt for a bit and now I have a pretty solid idea of how I feel about it. my renmei thesis is basically:
well that could have been a good idea but wow did takei completely fumble it
part a why it's not conceptually terrible: this one's really simple it's just that they're both similar characters. I'm anticipating you the reader have actually read/watched shaman king so I'm just gonna present you with the chart I made a few months back
murderous child -> oh shit -> what now it's quite similar
Tumblr media
btw this file was named "the.png". that is such an unhelpful file name I had to DIG to find it. wtf past me
basically if it was actually written properly I think we could have gotten some cool things out of a romantic relationship between these two characters. however
part b: we didn't
my favourite way to describe renmei is that it just wasn't written. because it wasn't. across over 300 chapters of mainline and spinoff manga they have maybe four interactions, three of which were after they were already a couple (and the fourth one is that time she raised him from the dead and they didn't speak. does that really even count?). and those three actual interactions were flashbacks and not... actually important. I think one of them was just about cheese. as a reader your experience is
2 characters who never interacted -> literally what the fuck when did that happen -> she's DEAD???
when my friend was reading the manga I had to tell her to reread a scene because the panel where they explain it is such a blink-and-you-miss-it moment
literally the same pacing and payoff as CANON DESTIEL.
their entire actual relationship happens during the downtime between the main manga ending and the sequels beginning. and I'm going to bring osp into this because I think this graphic is helpful
(side note as I was scrolling through this trope talk I noticed a problem red brings up that does apply to the sk sequels but that's for another post...)
Tumblr media
this is from the osp trope talk on sequels, and it shows the difference in Stuff Happening levels between plot time (red) and down time (grey). the issue with renmei is that it is an IMPORTANT PLOT EVENT (two characters with little interaction having an entire love story) that happens during DOWN TIME, when the audience only sees things through flashbacks in snippets. and it doesn't help that we never get any flashbacks to before the event happened, before they got together. it's jarring because the ENTIRE THING happens during down time. plot time 1 (the main manga) ends with no interactions between them, and ONE scene that's supposed to set ren up for getting Straight Married that in my opinion didn't work. because it is stupid. plot time 2 (every sequel manga) starts after jeanne's death. it's literally the inciting incident for red crimson. their entire 7+ year relationship is encapsulated in foggy down time, and we're expected to care.
and this especially doesn't work because we aren't set up to care. again, 1 interaction in the main manga, where they don't talk (but I will go to bat for the inherent intimacy of raising someone from the dead like we could have done something there). it's pretty clear to me from rereading the manga that takei didn't know these two would get together when he was writing it. that one scene I mentioned where he tries to set up ren getting Straight Married? if you've read it you know it's incredibly vague and with how takei wrote literally everything else it sure doesn't work as intended. or I'm too aromantic and yaoipilled to understand his literary genius idk. it's clear from some other missed opportunities that the jeanne part of the equation wasn't exactly planned from the beginning. which is even more insulting tbh
part c jeanne character assassination: out of the both of them jeanne really got the short end of the stick in terms of characterization in the sequels. I say this because I actually really like ren in the sequels I like the way takei took his character, so holy shit does sequels jeanne look even worse in comparison. the whole housewife thing is eeeeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhhhh, not really a fan of that but I'm also not mad enough to comment. her death I do have some thoughts about. conceptually the beheading herself with shamash thing is BADASS AS HELL and I do like it conceptually, I also know like, the themes. yeah remember that time "atoning for your crimes with your death isn't the right thing to do" was an important part of the plot. TWICE. FUCK THAT I GUESS. there is some equivalent exchange bullshit happening with these two and the continuation of main manga themes and I want it to stop please
part d tao men: one thing I've thought about a lot is Why. why fumble this so badly. why do this at all. what do we get out of this. and the answer is an inciting incident and tao men. and the fumble bag continues because tao men deserved better this is a tao men appreciation account. we could have done some cool shit with his revenge thing but nope fuck that I guess. poor guy
part e contrast: so the sequel manga where renmei is most relevant is red crimson. I absolutely love red crimson I recommend it to everyone. and that's because of jun and pairon (and chapter 9 full transparency). jun and pairon in red crimson have one of the most beautiful relationships I've ever seen. they have an established dynamic and baggage to work through and that's what the manga focuses on. and it works it works really well. however this is also the Renmei Manga, and having most of that stuff right next to jun and pairon just makes it look worse
those are all my renmei thoughts I remembered while writing this post, I think that covers most of it but I may reblog this later with stuff I forgot

~~~~~
Your little band of miscreants was currently sat in Eddie's living room. Iron Maiden played from the speakers when Jonathan walked through the front door, kicking it closed behind him as Steve and Eddie took the takeout bags from his hands.
"Hey," he said quietly to nobody in particular.
Nancy stood from her spot on the couch and walked toward him, a lit joint in her hand. He took it from her and brought the end to his lips without question. He coughed a quiet thanks as Nancy took her spot back on the couch next to Robin, who sat one the middle.
You sat on her other side, one arm over her shoulders as she rested against you. Her eyes were closed as the hit she'd just taken from the joint you were sharing took effect.
Eddie sat in his usual recliner while Steve took the one that Wayne typically used. Jonathan huffed as he sat down on the floor. His back was against the couch, right beside Nancy's calves.
"You wanna squeeze in up here?" Robin asked him.
"'M fine." He grumbled.
"You wanna squeeze in here, big boy?" Eddie asked, raising his hands over his head and shaking his long curls while circling his hips in his seat.
"Fuck off, man." Jonathan laughed as he reached over to smack his leg. "I went out in the middle of a blizzard to bring you your damn dumplings and you wanna fuck around?" He laughed again.
You looked out the window of Eddie's living room. It was certainly snowing, but nowhere near a blizzard. It was only December, after all and everyone knows that the bad snows don't come to Indiana until the middle of January at least.
It was two days to Christmas and you'd all gathered for your annual Christmas get together. Eddie's house had been chosen this year. You smiled to yourself as you looked around at your friends.
But your smile grew when you looked down to Robin, whose head was nestled nicely into your shoulder. She looked so lovely, her sandy hair against the blue of the sweater she'd bought you.
You'd been "official" since that night at the park. Both of you cried as you confessed your feelings to each other under the dim street lights. Looking back, you couldn't help but feel a little silly about the whole thing. But, silly or not, that's how your story started.
You still had to remain pretty low key with your relationship. The Midwest is not the most forward thinking part of the country. The only time you felt comfortable to be yourselves was when you were with your friends, when nobody that could judge you was around. But the two of you had spent countless hours talking about all the places you'd go to once you were able. New York, San Francisco, Paris. Endless trips around the world were planned in hushed whispers. Your own little secret globetrotting adventures.
You looked from your girlfriend up to Eddie, who's chair was situated closest to where you sat on the end of the couch. You felt just a bit emotional when you thought about the night you had told your group about your relationship. You remembered pulling him to the side and quietly thanking him for the night that you told him everything.
"Don't gotta thank me," he told you as he pulled you to his chest in a warm hug. "Freaks gotta have each other's backs out here."
That was also the night he told you the he'd known about Robin's crush on you for a while. It was a shock, to say the least, when he admitted that it was a relief to not have to keep her secret anymore.
"You call me her girl, like, once a week," you giggled.
"Was trying to, ya know" he laughed, pushing his palms together. "Just glad you two finally talked." He told you with a fond smile. You wondered to yourself if he had any idea how special he was to you.
Soon, all the food that Jonathan had brought with him had been passed out to everyone on paper plates. The laughter that filled the small, warm home was music to your ears. It was a special kind of magic to be able to have everyone you love in one place, making the most beautiful memories together. You wished it could be like this always.
Jonathan had brought his nicer camera with him, opting to leave the Polaroid at home. He spent most of the night snapping off pictures. The flash of his camera signaling another memory for someone's scrapbook.
Robin was standing with Steve near the coffee table when Jonathan asked them to pose. You laughed from the kitchen as you watched them do their version of poses. Robin puffed out her cheeks, crossing her eyes while she pulled her ears with her hands. Steve did his rendition of a magazine supermodel photoshoot, turning his back to the camera and pushing his hips out dramatically while looking over his shoulder with a pout on his lips.
"Baby!" Robin called, waking the butterflies in your stomach. She'd been calling you that for nearly four months but it never stopped being the most wonderful sound in the world. You hoped it never would.
She gently pushed Steve away from her as you got closer. Taking your hands in hers she gently moved you, making you take two steps backwards as she looked up at the ceiling. When she was happy with your position she smirked, her eyebrows raising as she looked from you to the ceiling. She's placed you directly under the mistletoe you hadn't even noticed was hanging from the ceiling.
You smiled at her as your hands wrapped around her waist. She leaned into you, her arms finding their usual place around your neck. You pulled her into you, your bodies flush together. You hardly noticed the flash of Jonathan's camera as he snapped a picture of the moment. When Robin broke the kiss you heard a collective "awww" from your friends.
You felt a warm blush crawl over your cheeks as she pulled her arms from you, one hand tracing down your arm to take your hand in hers. She led you back to the couch. You sat down and she immediately made herself comfortable on your lap. You wrapped your arms around her as she put one hand behind your head, her fingers tangling into your hair.
As her fingers danced softly through your hair, you couldn't help but wonder how the picture turned out. You knew that Jonathan would get you a copy after the holidays. But you almost couldn't wait to see it. You'd have to hide it from your parents, obviously. It would spend its days tucked into an old copy of Alice In Wonderland that sat inconspicuously between other books on the shelf in your room. That was the hiding spot for any and all evidence of your relationship.
But you knew that someday, when you were both older, it would be freed. You'd proudly frame the photo and hang it in the living room of the home you'd someday share with Robin. You imagined it as you relaxed into her touch, your body seeming to sink deeper into Eddie's couch. Tonight's picture would be encased in a simple black frame, you decided. You could tuck the Polaroid from Steve's pool party into the corner of it. It would be perfect.
"The girls are cuddlin' again!" Eddie called out, a smile evident in his sing-song voice even though you couldn't see him. Robin's eyes shined as she grinned at you before leaning in to kiss you once more.
"Jealous she doesn't wanna cuddle you?" She asked him, looking over your shoulder to where he stood in the kitchen.
"Nah," he answered. "Never steal your girl, Buck."
She looked back at you, her smile somehow wider. "Yeah," she whispered. "All mine."
And she was right. Not just for tonight. Not just because you were both inebriated. But forever. Everyday. For as long as she would put up with you, you were all hers. And she was all yours. You finally had everything you'd ever wanted.
Henry Danger Reader Insert | Captain Man x Reader: SEASON 2
Episode 4: Henry & the Woodpeckers
~The Man Cave~
It had been a long weekend for everyone. Henry had begrudgingly accepted a job helping Piper's basketball team after his little sister had pleaded and begged with him to take up the job. It was crap, but being the kind brother he was, he was going to try and get the Woodpeckers to the top of the league.
(y/n) had also had a particularly trying weekend. Ray and Schwoz had gone on a guys-only weekend camping trip, and her being a girl meant she was stuck in the Man Cave watching out for any major crimes that would need him to come back.
It had been absolute agony for her. It was rare he took any time off and if he did, it was normally with her and some other friends. She almost whimpered when he left her on Friday afternoon, Schwoz pulling him away so they could get driving as quickly as possible. The three days and four nights dragged by with nothing untoward happening, no crimes, just movies and ice cream, meaning she could only hope he was having a better time than she was.
And he was, sort of. It was nice to get away from it all and just be a normal guy on a relaxing break, but at the same time, it sucked that he couldn't bring (y/n) along.
Like her, Ray was so used to having her within an arm's reach, that the dreary nights in the tent with only Schwoz to keep him company were almost unbearable. All he could think about was going back to her and the next time he went to the lake, he'd bring her too, possibly on a long romantic break if he ever plucked up the courage to confess to her. It was the thought of returning to her embrace that combated his loneliness.
Monday afternoon eventually came around and (y/n) had been nervously awaiting her love's return, like a fair maiden anticipating her brave knight. Henry and Charlotte had reported into work to find her pacing around the room like a madwoman, and it had taken them ten minutes to get her to sit down. She couldn't help it, not having Ray around made her feel antsy and lonely. When he left, it was like he had taken a piece of her heart with him and she had kept a piece of his. Only together were they complete.
"Anything happening?" She asked the teens at the supercomputer, wanting to monitor their progress as a method of distraction.
"Not yet." Charlotte smiled at her, making the woman sigh in frustration. Her wait was soon over though as the tubes came down and two dirty, smelly, bearded men came down with a horde of camping gear. They had arrived.
"We're back!" Ray smiled at the kids and his best friend as he and Schwoz stepped out of the tubes. They looked rough like they had just spent nearly four days in the wild, which they had. (y/n)'s eyes lit up and Ray smiled at her and she squealed as she ran over to him. The young woman tackled the superhero in a huge, warm hug, making him drop the bags he was holding so he could return it. God, he'd missed her.
"Oh my god, I've missed you!" She giggled at him as they squeezed each other tight, causing Schowz, Henry and Charlotte to roll their eyes. It had only been like three days of being apart, sheesh.
"How was your camping trip?" The teen girl as Schwoz as Ray was preoccupied from burying his nose into his best friend's hair. She smelt so familiar, like fruity flowers and she felt like home.
"Oh, it was so much fun. I went swimming in Lake Swellview..." Schwoz recalled, making Ray chuckle bitterly as (y/n) let go, the smell of his unshowered body and wrinkled clothes finally getting to her.
"Yeah, which would've been great if you brought a swimsuit." He joked, shuddering slightly from both the gross memory and how (y/n) seemed to be studying him with sharp eyes.
"What's wrong with swimming naked?" The genius asked his friend, making (y/n) take her eyes off Ray for a second.
"You probably scare the fish." She joked, making the large man next to her laugh as he began to unpack his bag.
"I'm going to my room and shave off my beard," Schwoz told everyone after ignoring (y/n)'s teasing, but his comment made Ray laugh even harder.
"You call that a beard?" He asked the smaller man, making the woman and kids look at the two in amusement. Was this some kind of competition?
"Yeah, what else would I call this?" Schwoz asked Ray. (y/n) stood on her tiptoes and ran her fingers over Ray's jaw, inspecting the way his stubble was starting to grow out. She had never seen him with this much facial hair and she had to say, it was very hot. He looked rugged, manly like he had triumphed over nature in the outdoors, and she certainly liked it. Ray liked her reaction too, noticing the way she couldn't take her eyes off his cheeks and sharp jawline. The gliding fingertips made a shiver go down his spine and a fire burn in his belly, his body feeling hot and cold at the same time.
"You could call it a face bush," Henry told Schwoz as the couple had their moment of checking each other out. Ray snapped out of his trance as (y/n) pulled away from his face and looked back at his stuff in the bag, her cheeks tinged pink from desire. How would that stubble feel on her skin?
"I'm just saying, uh, this is the start of a real man's beard." The superhero bragged, his blood pumping with testosterone from his interaction with (y/n). He couldn't help but feel manlier, like he had proven himself to be attractive in the eyes of his girl and it showed from how he puffed out his chest.
"Pish. I can grow more hair on my rump, then you can grow on your face." Schwoz told him defensively, his temper flaring slightly at the insinuation that he was less of a man than Ray.
"Your rump has no match for my face," Ray growled back, the tension growing thick between the two friends.
"All right, boys, let's not go getting all stupid." Charlotte butted in, seeing how worked up they were getting. (y/n) agreed; Sure, Ray looked unbelievably hot with his facial hair, but that didn't mean she'd tolerate any animosity from him or Schwoz.
"Yeah, can we stop talking about Schwoz's ass?" She asked rhetorically, her tone conveying that she, like Charlotte, wanted to nip the problem in the bud before they could fight much more.
"You guys should have a beard battle." Henry piped up, making the girls roll their eyes. He always knew how to egg them on.
"Yes!" Ray and Schwoz agreed, thinking that it was an excellent idea, even though to anyone else it was really, really dumb.
"You little shit." (y/n) hissed at Henry, making his smile drop a bit as she and Charlotte glared at him.
"Six weeks. Whoever grows the biggest beard wins." Ray told Schwoz. He could beat the puny man easily.
"Loser has to..." Schwoz couldn't think of a suitable forfeit, but Ray could.
"...Eat the winner's beard hair." He challenged, causing Henry to laugh. He was easily amused by their petty rivalry.
"It's a bet." The genius scowled at the larger man as they shook on the deal, not seeing how (y/n) pinched her nose in frustration.
"No, no, no. You see, we said don't go getting all stupid." Charlotte reiterated, but the men weren't listening. Ray had a girl to impress and Schwoz wanted to prove himself; they weren't backing down now.
~The next day~
"Can't believe I'm doing this." (y/n) growled as she pinned up two pictures on a 'beard-growing chart'. One was of Schwoz and the other was of Ray with his cheesy grin. If this carried on much longer, she'd go and help Henry coach his league of small basketball players. Schwoz had finished setting up a workout bench with Charlotte, who had picked up a bunch of balloons on her way to work. What the hell was he planning?
"What are you doing?" She asked the genius, who was busy tying the balloons to the end of his scraggly beard as he laid back on the bench. He looked at her briefly, trying to ignore the way the tugging of the helium-filled balloons stung his chin.
"I'm tying the balloons to my beard so it will grow quicker." He explained as she coloured in the two men's progress so far on the chart. Charlotte had never heard of something so ridiculous in all her life.
"That's not how hair grows." She scoffed, thinking that Schwoz, being a scientist, should've known that. He grabbed a pair of scissors and cut the safety string attaching the balloons to the bench and grunted when he felt the full force of the balloon's pull on his beard. Was all this worth it just for some stupid competition?
Ray, on the other side of the Man Cave, was also trying out a hair-brained idea. He thought if he could tie his beard to some weights, he could stretch it out. Plus, he'd get a free workout with it too. (y/n) walked over to him with Charlotte, wanting to see his progress. Sure, his beard was longer, but that was just due to his hair's natural growth. Still, at least she got to see the sight of him in a tight, grey wifebeater, even if he did look like a hobo.
He groaned as he lifted the weights, his face feeling like it was on fire. The girls looked at him in alarm, thinking that he was insane.
"Uh, Ray, are you sure that's safe?" (y/n) asked timidly, not wanting him to hurt himself, despite the fact he was indestructible. His muscles flexed as he strained against the weights, her eyes raking over his toned torso. God, he suited the lumberjack look.
~Later~
As per (y/n)'s instructions, Ray had left the Man Cave and his endeavours to make his beard longer in favour of joining her and Charlotte on a shopping trip. He couldn't help but say yes to her puppy-dog eyes and fluttering eyelashes and had immediately put down his weights and threw on one of her favourite loud t-shirts. Sure, his beard was getting a bit too long for her liking, but she could easily look past that and see the soul she connected with and happily held his hand as they walked out of Junk-N-Stuff.
A trip to the mall later, and Charlotte and (y/n) stepped into the elevator with Ray, laughing and giggling about their day out.
He had treated them to lunch and had even footed the bill for a few items of clothing for (y/n), despite her strong protests that he didn't need to buy her anything. He couldn't help it, he loved spoiling her and watching her blush as he slammed down his credit card. Carrying her bags made him feel like her boyfriend, even if it was for just one afternoon. He loved the way she linked arms with him and asked his opinion for every shirt, blouse or pair of jeans she tried on.
It gave him a glimpse of what being her boyfriend would mean, and he fell in love with her more.
To some, it would seem mundane, sitting on a shitty stool outside the curtain for ages, but when he gave her his honest opinion that she looked beautiful and she grinned bashfully, it all seemed worth it.
Charlotte had had a good time too, she watched with curiosity as they explored the mall, seeing how everyone around them assumed they were boyfriend and girlfriend. Hell, an old lady even pinched his cheeks and called him a gentleman when (y/n) was in the changing rooms and he didn't correct her when she said his girlfriend was a lucky lady. How they couldn't see that they were only one step away from having that relationship was beyond the dark-haired girl.
They stepped out of the elevator, the three of them enjoying their conversation, but their happiness died down when they saw that Schwoz had his face stuck in some kind of machine. Oh, shit.
Ray put a finger to his lips so that they'd stay quiet as Schwoz hadn't noticed their arrival yet. He was twitching and convulsing as the machine zapped and lit up and Ray had a sneaking suspicion that he knew what he was up to. Passing the bags in his hands to (y/n), Ray snuck up on the genius and frowned.
"Schwoz!" He yelled, his booming voice causing the little man to fall off his chair.
"Hi, hey there, hey." He stuttered nervously, standing up and putting his flat cap back on his head as Charlotte shared a confused look with (y/n).
"Cheater. You're a dirty cheater!" The superhero growled, knowing that he had been using the machine to stimulate his beard into growing even longer.
"Why's he a cheater?" Charlotte asked, completely baffled by what was happening.
"That machine is a B.E.D. A beard enhancement device. Basically, it makes beards grow really long, really quickly." (y/n) explained as Ray seethed. He despised cheaters, especially when they made him feel inferior. He wanted to appear tough and manly, he thought that it was the only thing he could use that (y/n) could notice.
In reality, she saw beyond his macho exterior and knew that he was also goofy, kind, caring and deep down, sensitive. He had lost so many people in his life over the years, people he thought would be there forever and he was so torn apart from that. It had taken her years to repair the damage and he couldn't let go of the thing that was holding him together.
"No, it's not. I swear...I swear to the gods, it's not! I swear on my life. I swear on Charlotte's life. I swear on (y/n)'s life! I'm telling the truth." Schwoz lied, hoping that if he brought the girls into this then Ray would soften up, especially if he mentioned his girl. The nerve of swearing on her life when it was an obvious lie.
"No, you're lying!" Ray frowned at him, seeing through his fib.
"AH, SO WHAT?!" Schwoz growled back, not seeing the big deal. He used his brains to work out a way to grow it faster. That wasn't cheating in his eyes - that was smart.
"Now, you listen to me, you fuzzy little cheater! I---" Ray squared up to Schwoz, but (y/n) stepped in between them before they could actually start throwing fists.
"All right, that's enough!" She snapped at the men, pushing Schwoz away by his head and keeping her hand on Ray's chest. She could feel his strong heartbeat through his shirt and resisted the temptation to slide her hand over his chiselled stomach.
"No one said there was a rule against using beard-enhancement devices," Charlotte stated, causing Schwoz to laugh at his boss, who looked at the teen in shock. He also glared at Schwoz over (y/n)'s head since with her in the way he had no chance of slapping that stupid smirk off his face.
"O-O-okay! Okay, fine! I thought we were gonna have a fair and natural beard-growing contest, but since we're not, maybe I'll just use this thing myself!" He growled, moving his best friend out of the way by putting his hands under her arms and gently lifting her to the side. He shoved past Schwoz much more roughly and plopped down into the wheeled chair in front of the B.E.D.
"Hey, get of out my machine!" Schwoz whined and tried to force the large man out of his seat, but he wouldn't budge.
"This is just sad." The young woman sighed as she stepped back to Charlotte's side. The girl said nothing, just took out her phone and began to record their fight.
"Not the beard!" Ray screeched as Schwoz climbed onto the back of the chair and began to yank his long facial hair. They were like children and the sight they made was hilarious for the two girls fliming.
~The next day~
Okay, this was getting ridiculous. Ray and Schwoz had been using the beard enhancement device all night and when (y/n) came down the sprocket stairs in the morning, she nearly had a heart attack at the sight that greeted her. The men's beards were at least a metre long, possibly even two. They stretched down past their knees and were unbelievably thick.
"Oh. My. God." (y/n) breathed out, looking at the hair in horrified wonder. How had they even managed to get it that long? Ray smiled at the sight of his favourite person, but she couldn't return it. She was definitely starting to hate beards.
"Look it! My beard wins!" Schwoz smiled at her, thinking his was by far the most impressive, but Ray was inclined to disagree.
"No way, mine's way longer! (y/n/n), who wins?" Ray asked his helper, hoping that their friendship would sway her over to his side. However, she wasn't sure if there could even be a winner since they were both borderline repulsive.
"Errrrr, I've got to fill in the...chart, 'cause...hair." She stumbled out, quickly backing off so she could colour in the beard chart and look away from them. She didn't know why but seeing him with that much hair freaked her out. How she longed for the stubble that he had only two days prior.
The elevator dinged and out stepped Charlotte, reporting for work with a can of soda in her hand. She took a swig of it, only for her to nearly choke as she saw Ray and Schwoz standing near the supercomputer.
"Hey." Ray greeted her as he lent on the console, not liking how he hadn't received his morning hug from (y/n) yet. It was their little tradition, but it seemed like the young woman wouldn't go near him with the extreme hair on his face and that made him sulk.
"Hello," Schwoz said too, standing next to his boss with an aching back. His beard was starting to pull on his face and it was a struggle for his small frame to stay upright. Charlotte dribbled all of the soda in her mouth down her front as she stood in shock.
"The, uh, beard enhancement device works really well," Ray told her in a tired voice, feeling the need to sleep creep upon him suddenly. Pulling an all-nighter just to grow his beard had really taken a toll on him. He could just crawl into bed right now, a snoozing (y/n) next to him and he could just imagine holding her in his arms as he drifted off.
"Also, you dribbled on your sweater," Schwoz said, pointing his hand through his beard. (y/n) swiftly grabbed a tissue from a box she had lying around and passed it to the bewildered girl. Charlotte looked at her for an explanation, but like her, (y/n) knew nothing.
"I have nothing to do with those...monstrosities." She told the teen, shuddering at the sight of Ray's beard. Okay, if she didn't like it, he'd have to get rid of it snappy.
~Later in the afternoon~
It was time for the big weigh-in. Charlotte had spent the last fifteen minutes help (y/n) set up a table with large weighing scales, the older woman looking forward to seeing the hair gone.
"Beard contest. Dumbest thing I ever heard." Charlotte mentioned as she put a glass bowl down on the table, making her friend laugh. At least she wasn't the only one who thought the boys were being ridiculous.
"I know right. Thank god it's nearly over." She replied, her excitement bubbling in her stomach when the elevator dropped down. The door slid open, but to her and Charlotte's surprise, the men who stepped out were beardless. What?
"Hey, Charlotte. Hey, (y/n/n)." Ray greeted them with a fresh face, smirking at how his best friend's eyes widened at the sight of his smooth cheeks. Oh, how she had missed his hairless appearance.
"All right, we're ready to--" Charlotte turned around, but was rendered speechless like (y/n) when she saw their lack of beards.
"Notice anything different?" Ray teased them as he and Schwoz giggled.
"What happened to your beards?" (y/n) gasped, walking over to him so she could give him his morning hug that she had missed. She took the opportunity to feel his freshly shaved skin, smiling at how soft his jaw felt. Ray couldn't help but lightly lean his cheek into her palm, relishing the fact that with the beard gone, she was her usual self around him again.
"Ah, they were too long and itchy." He replied as he curled an arm around her waist, wanting to keep her next to him.
"Yeah, so uncomfortable," Schwoz added as he smiled at the sight of his friends. He had to admit, they were always so cute together.
"That whole beard contest thing was a stupid idea!" Ray laughed.
"Yeah, so stupid!" The smaller man laughed too, making (y/n) swat her best friend on the arm in annoyance.
"Oh, really?" Charlotte asked. sarcastically, hating how they were only now seeing sense, but that was them all over. They only listened to her and (y/n)'s advice at the last minute.
"But, you know that woman, Vacilla, who knows how to knit?" Ray asked the girls as he let go of (y/n)'s waist so he could open a white box in his hand.
"No."
"You've never mentioned anyone of that name." They told him, as he and Schwoz held the box. (y/n) stood between them, wondering what could be inside it and who was this knitting woman.
"Well, she's a woman and...we had her make you this! Ta-dah!" The young woman soon got her answer and was horrified at what they pulled out of the box. It was a sweater, way too small for her, so it must have been made for Charlotte and it was completely made from...beard hair. Ew.
"Holy shit, that's gross." She mumbled, standing back from the garment as Ray held it up for Charlotte, who looked at it with a frown.
"It's a sweater!" Schwoz told the teen excitedly, thinking she'd like it.
"Made from our beard hair!" Ray clarified, causing Charlotte to fake smile at their generous gift.
"Thank you so much." She told them slowly and nervously, trying to appear like she was grateful, despite her stomach feeling queasy.
"Well, go try it on." Ray passed her the hair sweater, the girl taking it with a gulp as she held it away from her body. This was the most disgusting thing she had ever been given.
"Sorry, we couldn't make you one, (y/n), we didn't have enough beard left," Schwoz told the young woman as Charlotte shuffled off to put the sweater on and (y/n) had never been more relieved, but she hid it from them so she didn't offend her friends.
"Oh, what a shame." She laughed politely, thanking God that she didn't have to wear any hair too. Ray turned to her and put his hands on his hips, sticking out his chin for her to see.
"So, sweet girl, what do you think of the new-old look?" He asked her as she smiled softly at the nickname and stroked his smooth face again, their soppy interaction making Schwoz roll his eyes.
"You look so much better." She told him truthfully, standing on her tiptoes so she could press a kiss to his shaved cheek just so she could feel his skin on her face for a split second. Ray felt like he had died and gone to heaven as his angel gave him her kiss. He felt lightheaded at the action, wanting to experience it for the rest of his life.
"Guys, we have to leave for Henry's basketball game." Schwoz butted in, knowing that even though they just wanted to stay like that forever, they had places to be.
"Oh right, his big match as head coach, we better go. Charlotte, come on!" (y/n) jumped into action, running off to grab her purse and jacket, which made Ray scowl at his resident handyman.
"You just had to ruin the moment, didn't you?" He complained to the smaller man, who just smirked in response. He couldn't help it if he was so whipped for the girl that he lost track of time. He also couldn't help that Ray was too chicken to ask her out, knowing that if he did, he'd have all day to kiss her and not worry about when the next opportunity would come along.
~Swellview High's gym~
Ray guided (y/n) through the halls, Charlotte trailing behind them in embarrassment as both parents and students alike stared at her jumper. Ray had insisted that she wear it to the game, which made her and (y/n) cringe as she trudged out of the door. She knew he saw it as a sign of their friendship, but it was so itchy and gross, she hated it.
Walking through the doors to the gymnasium, the two adults spotted Henry talking to the basketball officials that had been giving him insurmountable amounts of grief over the past few games. They had insisted that the boy dumb down the game so the kids wouldn't feel bad if they lost, which Henry saw as ridiculous. Every kid needs to experience failure, it's what made them more resilient for adulthood, not that they listened to anything he said. He had just made a mockery in front of them for the entire match and was more than happy to mock them now as his boss and his not-girlfriend came up to them.
"Hey, you guys won!" Ray smiled at his sidekick as they slapped their hands together in greeting.
"I know!" Henry replied excitedly, glad that he had gotten the chance to show those dumb officials what for.
"Come on, Ray's taking us and your team and Charlotte out to celebrate." (y/n) giggled from the happy moment, her heart melting at Ray's generosity. It practically became a puddle when he failed to let go of her hand, him being happy to just show off that he had this gorgeous woman next to him as his best friend.
"Okay. Where's Charlotte?" Henry asked, looking around for his friend, but she was nowhere to be seen.
"Oh, she's...Charlotte?" Ray and (y/n) searched around for the girl, thinking she had been right behind them.
"Charlotte!" Ray called her in when he noticed her loitering outside the door, causing her to shyly walk into the gym, her eyes glued to the floor as Henry gawped at her hairy sweater. Ray looked extremely pleased with his gift as (y/n) rolled her eyes. Poor Charlotte, she looked so uncomfortable.
"What are you wearing?" Henry asked in disgust.
"Beard hair." She replied in a timid voice, feeling like everyone's eyes were on her. Ray grinned and gestured to his face, indicating to Henry that he had been the one to donate the hair.
"That's disgusting." The boy told Charlotte, who silently agreed with him. She felt so icky.
"Don't worry, I'll put it in the incinerator when we get back to the Man Cave." (y/n) hissed in her ear, knowing that what Ray didn't know couldn't hurt him. She loved him, but God, sometimes, he could be so dumb.
End of Summer
Summary: Depressed after dropping out of college and being forced to move in with family in Hawkins you reconnect with your childhood friend Eddie
Set either just before or during season four
Warnings/tags: reference to eating disorders, childhood friends, romantic/sexual tension
Notes: I wanted to get this out while I'm still in the middle of Eddie brainrot. I have more written but it's just snippets right now lol.
you can also read this fic on AO3
You wander the snack aisle of the convenience store with a five dollar bill in your pocket just waiting to be spent. The little store in Hawkins has barely changed since the last time you were there. Most of Hawkins has barely changed, if you're honest. And yet things feel different. It's a little eerie.
You contemplate a big bag of licorice ropes. It could be fun to eat them in front of the TV until you puke. That's a normal thing to want to do, right?
"'Scuse me."
"Huh? Oh, sorry." you glance over as you take a step back to let someone past. They're dressed like a biker or something in a beat to shit denim vest covered in pins and patches over a leather jacket. Something about his face, framed by a mane of wild frizzy curls, seems familiar. He thanks you as he walks past and the two of you lock eyes for the briefest of seconds.
Seeing those big dark eyes brings it all back.
The grass under your feet. The sun burning your shoulders. The way he'd slipped his headphones over your ears as he'd lightheartedly chastised you for your taste in music.
"This is Iron Maiden. Way better than that disco shit."
"The Number of the Beast," you read off the cassette tape, "Does that mean you're into satanic worship?"
For a second you'd thought the joke didn't land but then he'd broken into a wide smile.
And then, without breaking eye contact, he'd reached over and pressed play on his walkman. It had been your introduction to metal. And your first kiss.
"What, like black mass? Sacrificing virgins?" he'd leaned in close as he said it. Your whole face had gone red at that.
It takes effort to ground yourself back in reality.
"Ed? Eddie?"
He blinks dumbly at you like he's trying to figure out if he knows you. Maybe you're wrong. Maybe this is someone else.
"You... are Eddie Munson, right? We used to hang out over summer vacation as kids."
His face lights up with recognition and his eyebrows go up. He repeats your full name back at you.
"Holy shit. It's been a while. I didn't recognize you with th- the shorter hair." He gestures wildly at his own, much longer, hair, "What the hell are you doing back in Hawkins? Visiting family or what?"
"You remember my aunt Margaret? Her health's not so great anymore and she needs someone to help out around the house." You tell him. It's maybe not the whole truth but it's close enough.
"No shit? So you're not in school then? I thought you were planning on doing state college."
You're torn between being happy that he remembered and wishing he hadn't.
"I'm taking a semester off." more half-lies. "What about you? What are you up to these days?"
"Um, I am... still working on graduating high school. Didn't have enough credits last year."
"That's rough."
An awkward silence falls between the two of you. It's not really a surprise that Eddie hasn't gotten his shit together but it is a disappointment. Somehow, you'd hoped you hadn't run into him because he was off somewhere touring with a band or at college far away from Hawkins. You remind yourself that you're not in a place to judge considering just how well your own life is going.
"Do you - do you want to go grab lunch?" Eddie finally breaks the silence to ask.
"Yeah. Yeah, I'd love to."
Tumblr media
"Henderson's a fucking genius!" Stacy exclaimed as her eyes traveled down the ceiling of the more gruesome duplicate of Eddie's trailer.
Soaked in sweat and dirt, moldy air clutching onto her hair, she stood up firmly with the hands on her hips. The sudden outburst of confidence, caused by the thrill of the getaway that was only millimeters away, made a petite, although a confident smile entering her face.
"Don't say it out loud. You'll only feed this kid's abundant ego even more," her brother scolded her, sighing.
"And what's wrong with that?" Stacy replied challengingly.
"Uh, I don't know... everything?! He's not going to stop blabbering about it!"
Shaken by a chuckle due to Steve's annoyed expression, she watched Max and Lucas tying two white sheets together, alongside Dustin bringing a mattress in quite questionable condition.
"Those stains are, uh..." Eddie started, glancing awkwardly at the four, who were stuck beside him in the alternate dimension. "I don't know what those stains are," he added rapidly.
"Mhmm," Robin murmured, her eyebrows raised.
"Just admit you wet your bed each time you listen to Dave Mustaine's shredding his guitar solo," Stacy chuckled quietly, nudging the metalhead.
"Oh, shush," he quieted her in a cumbersome tone, however, he couldn't help but smirk at her conceited remark.
As the makeshift rope appeared in front of Stacy and her friends, all of them looked at each other, searching for a volunteer, who would risk the escape between two alternate worlds first.
"I guess I'll be the guinea pig," Robin stated, gripping onto the bedsheets.
A salve of cheers sprouted out the kids mouth the moment she landed on the mattress, nearly unharmed.
"Stace." Steve pointed out at the gate while staring with anticipation at his younger sister.
If it was up to her, she would've preferred to be the last, who crossed the barrier between the two dimensions after making sure everyone was secured first. However, dense circumstances, especially those involving monsters and slimy veins, required adequate measures. Therefore, Stacy knew arguing would be pointless.
"Just don't hang out without me too much," she replied in a light-hearted tone, trying to bring even a tiniest amount of closure to the rest. "See you on the other side," she added, climbing herself up.
Having no idea where the strength to lift up her whole body came from, she gritted her teeth as she made her way towards the exit. The whole process of shifting dimensions could be compared to a ride on a rollercoaster — the suspense of approaching its highest point, only to temporarily loose all of the senses when the labyrinth in the inner ear was going crazy.
That was exactly what happened before she slammed onto the mattress, hissing a quiet, "Fuck, ouch," underneath her breath.
The moment she tried to pick herself up and clear the space for others to land, she felt her leg being crushed by the weight of a very certain, curly-haired person.
"You couldn't wait two more seconds, could you?" she joked, noticing the embarrassment painted all over Eddie's cheeks.
"Sorry... I slipped," he smirked watching the dramatic frown displayed by her. "That was... fun."
As Dustin helped them both got up, Stacy and Eddie made their way towards the kitchen counter, awaiting for Steve and Nancy to join them.
With the unexplainable urge, probably caused by the adrenaline and excitement of getting out the Upside Down, Stacy smiled widely, her arms wrapping around Eddie. As the same feeling of relief took over him, the metalhead's fingers traveled to Stacy's hair, pulling her closer.
"Now we just need Iron Maiden playing," he smiled, referring to the conversation they had before getting to the Wheeler's house.
"Ew, gross. Get a room," Dustin scoffed, causing the two to awkwardly let go of each other.
"Nancy! Nancy! Open your eyes!" The terrified screams of her brother felt like a steak going through Stacy's heart, paralyzing her immediately.
"Oh, fuck. Oh, fuck. No, no, no," she gasped in frenzy after peeking through the gate and noticing Nancy Wheeler in the exact same state she saw Patrick a day before.
"Not again," Eddie let out, terror sinking his body. The blank eyes, prepared for the mortifying picture he had witnessed not one, but two times kept him from moving.
"Shit! Robin! Come with me!" Stacy yelled, merely regaining control of her mind.
Running towards the bedroom she was so well-acquainted with, she pulled out the drawer Eddie kept his cassettes in, rapidly starting rummaging through it.
Her fingers moved in frenzy, her panicked brain failed to notice everyone except Erica Sinclair joining her search. Muttering curses underneath her breath, she tried to find anything Nancy could possibly listen to.
"Steve says you need to hurry!" Erica yelled.
Stacy's fingers felt like the blood circulation had been cut off of them. That, however, didn't stop her from throwing a bunch of tapes on Eddie's bed in hopes of Robin helping her.
"What is all this shit?!" the Family Video employee screamed.
"What are you even looking for?!" Eddie shouted, just as panicked as anyone else in his trailer.
"Madonna, Blondie, Bowie, Beatles! Music! We need music!" she explained frantically, holding out a cassette.
"This! Is! Music!" Eddie growled, taking the Iron Maiden recording from her.
His yell acted like a switch in Stacy's head, bringing the wave of clear vision. Without a word, she shoved her hand into his back pocket.
"Stacy, what are..!"
"I have Talking Heads on this," she breathed out, taking out the mixtape she gave to Eddie right after the murder of Chrissy happened. "Nancy's boyfriend listens to it, right?!" she asked, looking for any sign of confirmation from the others.
"I... I guess!" Lucas answered, recalling the time he spent at the Byer's house during which Johnatan blasted the '77 album.
"Let's fucking hope it works!" Stacy exclaimed, grabbing Eddie's Walkman from his desk before she made her way back to the living room. "Steve! Grab this!" she yelled before she was ready to throw him the device, however...
...Nancy's eyes had already open as she now mortifyingly clutched onto Eddie's vest Steve was wearing.
"What the..." Stacy whispered. "Steve! Get her out of there!" she screamed, watching her brother helping the Wheeler girl climb up the rope.
Stumbling on her feet, the substantial panic washing away, Stacy subsided by the wall, letting her body slide down without control.
As the group approached the terrified girl, who had just encountered Vecna, Stacy pinched the sides of her nose before getting back up. On legs that felt like they were made out of cotton candy, she failed to notice her trembling hands that cupped Nancy's face.
"Hey, hey. You're okay. Everything's fine now," she whispered to her, examining her face.
Nancy didn't answer. Her gaze was absent. How couldn't it be after the tremendously petrifying experience?
"Can you... give her some space," Steve mumbled, wrapping his arms around Wheeler's shoulders.
With a single nod, Stacy escorted Robin and the kids on the couches in Eddie's living room, herself making her way to the tap to get Nancy some water.
"You're bleeding again," Eddie pointed out the second she turned her back to him.
Confused, Stacy looked down at the bat bite on her collarbone. He was right. The fall must've opened it once more.
"Come here," he whispered and grabbing her hand, he led her to the tiny bathroom. Taking out a bottle of rubbing alcohol and some cotton pads, he wordlessly offered to clean up her wound.
"No," she stopped him before he got a chance to do so. "I have to do it myself... I hate the stinging," she explained with a small, apologetic smile, approaching the mirror to take a better look at her injury.
Gritting her teeth as she began disinfecting it, she felt Eddie carefully sweeping the hair from the nape of her neck.
"Thank you... Shit!" she hissed after the alcohol made contact with her skin. Looking at the cotton pad that was now soaked with crimson liquid, her eyes met Eddie's. "Nasty, don't you agree?" she joked, trying to cheer up the both of them.
"Quite badass if you asked me," he chuckled, stroking her hair. With the other hand, he reached out for the box of beige band aids, scrunching the nose the moment he noticed they were too small to put on the wound.
"In my wildest dreams, I wouldn't have suspected Eddie Munson of owning band aids," she giggled, taking the box from him.
"Well, I do play guitar," he smirked, showing her his calloused fingers that often required such treatment.
"Oh... stupid me," Stacy shrugged, taping another cotton pad with two plasters. "Look. It's an innovation. Temporary and amateur… but an innovation," she pointed out at her now secured wound.
Eddie shook his head, his brown curls covering his sight as he laughed at her comment.
"Do you want... like a T-shirt, or something? That one you're wearing is kind of..." he stopped himself, glancing at the dirty white blouse stained with blood.
"Yeah," she whispered awkwardly, following him back to his bedroom.
"In my wildest dreams," he repeated her words before he handed her a shirt. "I would've never thought I'd be providing the Harringtons with clothes."
Stacy bursted out in laughter, taking off her denim jacket. Her good humor lasted until she noticed the handmade band logo on the piece of fabric.
"Slayer? Really? I've told you it's not my cup of tea," she complained in a lofty manner.
"Maybe that's why I kind of wanted to see you wear it," he replied in a hushed tone, toying his curls. A serious expression washed his smile the moment he realized, "I-If you want to get changed I'll lea..."
"No," Stacy interrupted him, feeling a sudden burning on her cheeks. "I-I mean, if you're not comfortable then you can… but I might need some help taking this off," she pointed at the white fabric that stuck to her skin due to the dried blood.
It looked too painful to begin with.
"...and besides," she continued, looking away. "I don't want to stay alone."
Her vulnerable tone made Eddie's heart flutter as he walked up to her, grabbing the sides of the shirt she was wearing. Trying his best not to catch a glimpse of her chest, now covered only by a bra, he gently lifted up the fabric.
"You look so silly," Stacy chuckled, pointing at his focused expression. "Haven't seen a topless girl before?"
He was bright red. And the worst part about this being he couldn't hide his reaction as he was only few steps away from her.
"It's just... I'd never thought I'd be undressing the Stacy Harrington," he confessed, trying to sound as if he was joking.
Stacy slammed her head on his chest, silent giggles coming over her body.
"The Stacy," she repeated in the exact same mannerism. "Eddie, it's not that big of a deal... I'm not that big of a deal."
"That's a lie," he disagreed before cupping her chin in his left hand. Locking eyes with her, he added softly, "You have no idea how big of a deal you are, buttercup."
She wanted to close her eyes. She wanted to lean forward and plant the most passionate kiss on his lips while he was holding her so tightly. She wanted to forget about the whole world around them.
And yet, she pulled away. Hence she knew she couldn't. Emotions would only jeopardize her rational thinking.
"We... should go back to them," she murmured, timidly glancing at her boots.
"Yeah, right, sorry." Eddie's apologetic coyness shattered her heart in pieces.
Before she got a chance to grab his hand and ensure him she was feeling the exact same, he had already left his bedroom, guilty whether or not he imposed himself on her.
"Fuck!" Stacy growled, hitting the hard surface of the wall with her fist.
After we deal with it, she promised herself before joining Eddie and the others in his living room.
When the sun rose, nothing could prepare the others for the story Nancy had begun telling. The story of what Vecna had showed her. Dead soldiers, an army of monsters, gates spreading over Hawkins... It was enough to frighten anyone. Even those who had experienced the horrid things that happened over the span of the last years.
If her weight wasn't supported by the windowsill, Stacy would've definitely slide down, allowing her body to uncontrollably tremble. Yet, something on the brim of her mind ordered her to neglect her own fear and made her attention focused on sorting the information.
She knew before they had no other option than to stop Vecna. And Nancy's confession made it even more vivid, more real... A final stroke of what was bound to happen.
While Max disclosed the four chimes were signaling four victims, all of them immediately realized she was holding onto a thread that stopped her from being the final one.
"We need to get back to the Upside Down," Nancy stated, her voice firm and steady.
It was Steve and Eddie that bursted out in disagreement, roaming it was abdominally atrocious idea.
"She's right," Stacy whispered, turning everyone's attention to her. "There's no other way we could stop this massacre from happening..."
No matter how dearly she wanted to convince herself it wasn't the case, no matter how tremendously she feared it wasn't going to go auspicious. No matter how panic-stricken she was at the thought of losing anyone else, she was aware they had no other choice.
That's when Dustin suggested they could use knowing Eleven as an advantage, Stacy nodded her head.
"If we snuck to the Upside Down while he attacks, we would have the time to..." Her voice painfully dropped the second her eyes focused on Eddie.
Covering his face as to hide his expression, she didn't fail to notice a subtle shake, the tiniest amount of trepidation that was enough to tell her he was on the verge of tears. And for some reason realizing that was more painful than the idea of Stacy getting hurt herself.
"...kill him," she ended, hiding her shaking hands behind her back.
"Yeah, yeah, and how are we gonna do that, smartass?" Steve argued, although his tone was far from angry... He was immensely afraid.
"We don't even know who he's going to attack next," Robin agreed, finishing the thought Stacy interrupted her.
"Yeah, we do." Max's distant whisper was like an arctic breath of death on everyone's necks.
Atmosphere became unbearably eerie when she explained she could still feel him. It reached its peak when she suggested to be a distraction whilst the others focus on annihilating the teen-killing monster.
Max spoke in frenzy yet still, Stacy admired her bravery in designation. Digging her nails into her fragile skin, she held her disapproval inside. Now the substantial matter were to stop Vecna before he got the chance to possess the redhead girl.
It felt like walking into a morgue; the realization that took over each member of the party pierced their minds as the sight of the gaping mouths of skeletons.
Nancy was the one, who broke the silence once again, kneeling down next to a coffee table. Dividing the group on three, she distributed the tasks, or rather the primal ideas of how they were going to fulfill their duty. Originally, Stacy was supposed to join her, Robin and Steve on the venture to the Creel's house in the Upside Down. Yet, after hearing Eddie and Dustin were assigned to fight the flying creatures they encountered the night before, she rose up from the windowsill, slowly shaking her head.
"I don't like this," she mumbled, her terrified gaze fixed on the opposite window.
"No shit," Steve scoffed, visibly agitated by his own panic.
"No, no..." She crossed her arms before looking back at him. "The bats. We saw how hard it is to fight them. While their swarming, it's impossible for anyone to defend themselves... I-I know them and Vecna are connected but… it's still bold to assume they'll die after you guys defeat him... And after Dustin and Eddie flee, they'll still be around the trailer," she explained, noticing Nancy's mouth opening.
"So what do you suggest?"
Stacy took a deep breath, ready to vocalize her part of the plan. "Someone needs to be a distraction... That way you'll be able to come back," she stated, noticing how distinctly Eddie glanced at Steve. Almost like he was seeking for help.
"Stacy..." her brother started, his thoughts identical to what the metalhead wanted to express.
"I'll hide in the woods and when Dustin's gives me sign over the walkie, I'll..."
"Hey, I think you'll getting too carried away," Eddie interrupted her, quickly standing up.
"Will you guys let me finish?" Stacy hissed.
Her inner anger only soothing when she realized Steve and Eddie weren't skeptical of her plan... They were afraid of her distracting the bats alone.
"I-I'll be fine. In the woods, it'd be harder for them to even get to me. And if you'll get me a gun, I'll just fire it and sprint right away to safety," she promised, her voice loosing all of its previous harshness, her face softening.
"Do you even know how to use a gun?" Eddie furrowed his brow, still not sold on her idea.
"She taught me," Stacy smirked, pointing at Nancy, who reciprocated her expression. "So? Does everyone agree? It's not a matter to be discussed anyway, I'm just asking for the formalities."
The girls nodded her head immediately, their reactions only to be followed by Steve and Eddie's resigned scoffs. It didn't take long for them to disclose the further parts of the plan, realizing they needed to obtain weapons. That's when Eddie's input of the store War Zone occurred. Met with pitiful whines of Erica and Robin, he took out the map, pointing towards the directions they were going to head. Now the only problem remaining — their source of transport.
Stacy hated the sly smirk that appeared on the metalhead's face as she immediately knew it didn't indicate anything legal. Therefore, it didn't surprise her when he asked Max for a ski mask. Carefully exiting his trailer as though no one would see them, the group ran to the Mayfield's property in search for the spoken item.
Despite the grave situation Stacy couldn't help but burst into laughter when the redhead girl brought back a Mike Myers mask from her room.
"Thought you didn't want to draw attention," she chuckled, watching Eddie putting on the latex Halloween costume.
"Kinda fits with the serial murderer theme," he replied, his remark sounding awfully self-deprecating.
Crouching like a soldiers on a mission, the team found themselves sneaking around the trailer park. As Eddie ordered them to get into one of the RV vans through an open window, Stacy bit her lip at the irrational tint of the situation. Although her face displayed no sense of shock nor confusion as it did on the others. Frankly, it seemed quite accustomed.
"Should I be worried you seem so used to breaking into a van?" Robin asked her the moment they all set their foot in the vehicle, Eddie and Steve making their way to the front.
"I've been friends with him for the past half of the year... At this point rarely anything surprises me," Stacy chuckled, adjusting the sleeve of the Slayer T-shirt.
"We'll talk about that in a second," Robin pointed out at her clothing before her face dropped as she speeded towards the driver's seat.
Following her, Stacy caught a glimpse of Eddie messing with the wires.
"Uh, Eddie? I'm not sure I like the idea of you driving," Robin exclaimed, leaning over Steve's shoulder.
With his usual cocky grin, the curly-haired man looked up, saying, "Oh, I'm just starting this sucker... Harrington's got her, don't ya' big boy?"
"Are you flirting with my brother, Munson?" Stacy busted out laughing the moment the engine fired.
"Jealous?" His nonchalance soon disappeared after noticing the owners of the RV yelling and banging on the side of the car.
"Shit! Let's go!"
Bumping into one of the backseats when Steve maniacally started the van, Stacy felt her hand being pulled as though protect her from collapsing.
"Gotcha," Eddie smirked, supporting her waist to help her get back up.
Murmuring her thanks, she watched his smug expression disappeared once more. This time, however, it wasn't due to visible danger as a moment before. Now, Stacy sensed timidity and audible abashment as his muffled, "No problem," reached her ears.
I fucked up, she thought. I gravely fucked up.
It quieted down when Steve drove away for a safe distance, the relief causing everyone to take proper seats and relax. Or rather, try to relax as the moments of sweet peace before the storm seemed to bottle up in the vehicle.
Max and Lucas sat on the back couch, deep in a conversation. Nancy took a seat in the front and Robin was arguing about something with Dustin. Even Eddie, who situated himself opposite of them appeared to be taking advantage of the mere sensation of serenity.
It was only Stacy, who was still standing at that point. Nervously picking the skin around her fingers, she beat herself up in her thoughts for making the metalhead uncomfortable, hence she knew the fault laid in her behavior.
The sudden need of confession overpowered her. She wanted to tell him about the way her face lightened up each time she saw him. She wanted to describe the butterflies that firstly seemed so outrageously disruptive but now became a pleasant reality. And mostly, she felt the urge to reassure him she reciprocated his feelings.
She didn't mean to pull away. She didn't mean it , but still it was the only option she had. Otherwise even stronger connection would form between them — that leading to a disastrous doom if...
...if one of them didn't survive.
Seeing the corpses of the people she knew last summer, watching what a Demogorgon could do to a person was enough for her to form a habit of always needing to protect others.
It was for his own good, she repeated in her mind. If she was to die during the next couple of hours at least he would mourn her only as a friend, which, of course, would still tore his soul but objectively — of the two evils, that option was lesser drastic.
This moment of self-realization made her aware thorough all this time she had been preparing herself not to make it out alive. Trying to defend anyone but herself, trying to make sure they were secured, Stacy had been entirely lost in the need of accepting her death. A death that lured closer with every second.
That was why she offered to distract the bats. She had no interest in her own well-being. The only thing that mattered was for people she cared about to make it out safe.
Gathering their things, Steve, Nancy and Robin headed towards the exit when the RV was parked near War Zone's. With the intent to follow them, she stopped after the trim her shirt had been pulled by Eddie.
"You shouldn't go. The police knows you're involved," he reminded her, recalling she gave a testimony after the tragedy that took place on the Lover's Lake.
"Right," she agreed, waving at her brother and the girls as a sign she won't be joining them.
Swallowing the gulp of awkwardness, she rested on the front seat, just in case neither the kids nor Eddie were interested in talking to her. She didn't know whether to be glad or allow the panic to take over when the metalhead took a seat opposite of her.
"Hey..."
"Hi," she smiled softly as he touched her knee with his.
The silence consumed them for the next couple of seconds, each of them having no idea how to strike a conversation. Eddie looked away, playing with his hair, meanwhile Stacy bounced her feet anxiously, hoping for the right words to come.
"That hot-wire thing you did... pretty impressive," she started, crossing her legs as though she was meant to hide her nervousness.
"Yeah, and I swore I wouldn't be like my pops," he chuckled, dismay coming from his tone.
Noticing what she meant as a compliment completely backfired as a brutal reminder of his past, she placed a hand over his knee, "You're not. You're a good person, Edds."
He scoffed at the irrationality of her words, chuckling pitifully, "A good person, who's wanted for murder and grand theft auto... Kinda contradictory, ain't it?"
"Eddie, look at me... please," Stacy whispered, shifting on her seat as his tired eyes met hers.
It hurt.
It hurt to see him like this.
"Have you heard Dustin rambling on about how great of a friend you are? That always makes Steve jealous... He can talk about the campaign you came up with for hours. And about how courageous and outspoken you..."
"Stacy, I'm not coura..."
"Edds," Stacy interrupted him, knowing his answer lead only to denial. "You are. You take care of the misfit kids, you make them feel important. And that's something stupendous. Something monumental to admire..."
"You're using fancy words again," he chuckled at the habit he had grown so used to for the last half of a year.
"Because I mean it! And because... because it hits too close to home." Her voice lowered near the second sentence, causing Eddie to quiet down, waiting for her to explain what she meant by that. "You're the most astounding person I've ever met. A-and I had no idea I was like those freshmen you take under your wings... lost, and you've... you've made me feel wanted. I'll never be able to properly thank you for that."
With her last words, Stacy lifted herself up, embracing Eddie in a tight hug. She hadn't notice the sob that came through her body when she rested her head in the nape of his neck. It was only the single, sentimental tear that revealed the truth to her. She wanted to say so much more.
Slowly pulling away, she put on her usual smile, wiping off her left cheek as she glanced back at him. He was silent.
It didn't trouble her, however, hence she didn't expect an answer. In fact, her priority was to make him feel better.
Therefore, taking a cassette out of her pocket, she offered one thing she knew would've always lighted him up, "Do you wanna listen to some music?"
Eddie awkwardly chuckled, showing his hands into his pockets.
"U-uh, about that..." he started, hesitantly taking out the Walkman she lend him a few days prior. "I've been meaning to tell you about this earlier but..." he never finished. He never meant to because it was self-explanatory. The moment he took the device out of his pocket and opened the tape disposal, a few drops of water poured down on the ground.
"Oh," Stacy bit her bottom lip.
"Well, it's been in water... twice," he stated, not being able to hold a steady expression as he watched her giggle. "You're not mad?" he asked, visibly confused.
"Eddie, we're going to fight outer-dimensional monsters. How could I be mad about a Walkman?" Her joke didn't come off as planned, hence his eyes rapidly sunken as he murmured a few words in agreement.
Awful stillness overwhelmed them once more. This time, however, it was due to the awareness what was awaiting... and what had happened a few hours before. Guilt took over Stacy's thoughts as she recalled her indelicacy. Simultaneously, a sudden notion of bravery roamed through her mind.
"So..."
"Listen..."
They started in unison, busting in silent laughter at the atrocity of the situation.
"Go on, buttercup," Eddie smirked, flushing ever so slightly.
"No, you go first. I interrupted you," she disagreed, wanting to postpone the confession she was bound to make.
"What kind of a gentleman would I be if I didn't let the fair lady speak?" he asked nonchalantly, masking the identical thought.
"The fair lady can wait," Stacy smiled, watching Eddie giving up on their pointless exchange of words.
"I, uh..." he started, his face hidden by his hair. "I wanted to apologize."
"What for? I've told you the Walkman..."
"It's not about that," he interjected, getting even more nervous than before. "I-It's about what happened in my trailer... I didn't want to make you uncomfortable and..."
"Oh, Eddie," Stacy cut off his rambling, coming to the conclusion their topics of the conversation aligned. "It's not like that... but I... I don't, shit. I have no clue how to phrase it."
Eddie let out a breath of understanding, nodding his head rapidly as he accepted his fate.
"You don't have to. It's on me I thought you could have been interested in someone like me... I-I really don't blame you, though. Let's just forget about it," he blabbered, getting more anxious with every word that left his mouth.
"No, fuck, no. That's not what I meant," Stacy panicked, realizing giving him mixed signals finally turned into an understatement.
His doe eyes widened as he murmured a coy, "No?"
This was it. Now there was no return.
"Eddie, I like you. Very, very much. But I just can't risk it now... Not now, when we're a few steps away from sure death," she stopped for a moment, feeling the salty tears covering her sight, her voice getting hoarse. "I-I... I don't know what's going to happen and I've seen so many terrifying, horrendous things that could happen because of this..." She threw her hands in the air, getting tangled up in her own words.
Her worst nightmare was coming true — destroying what was going on between them because of her inability to express her fears.
"I understand." Eddie's silent voice stopped the stream of her tears.
"You... really?"
He let out a chuckle, his fingers tangling with hers, "Partially, but I got used to you not making much sense anyway."
The look of acknowledgment he gave her was enough to calm her down. It was just as he could read her mind.
With trembling fingers, she raised up his hand, planting the most subtle and delicate kiss before she snuggled it up to her cheek as a nonverbal thank you.
"But after this hellish campaign is over and we're not playing live-action DnD, do I have permission to take you out for dinner?" he spoke softly, watching as Stacy's face lightened up.
"Dinners are a bit overrated, don't you think?" she replied challengingly, a wide smile covering up her whole face. "But... permission granted," she added in a chuckle.
"We need to go!" The ringing order of Steve beamed through the metal walls of the RV, causing both Eddie, Stacy and the kids to take back their seats. As they headed towards a destitute location, safe from jocks Nancy claimed they had acquainted in the weapon supply store, Stacy toyed with the cassette that was probably in the exact same conditions as her Walkman.
"That idea with Talking Heads," Robin started, her mind immediately traveling to the instance reminded her because of the tape. "Do you think it would've worked?"
Seated between Dustin and Eddie, Stacy tilted her head, ready to explain her reasoning, "It's merely an assumption... You know, Johnatan's a fan of them and they'd probably listened to their songs on repeat. Even if Nancy didn't like their music, she'd at least recognize it and have some pleasant memories of her and her boyfriend on mind. Even the bands you don't enjoy on your own can sound good if you're listening to them with someone you love..."
"So that's why you're wearing this T-shirt?" Robin chuckled, causing Stacy's cheeks to burn bright red. Hearing into the conversation, Eddie couldn't help but smirk.
"Even if I listened to Slayer with Tom Cruise, I'd still hate them with passion," she replied, trying to cover her expression.
"Ooh, someone's mad," Erica Sinclair pointed out in her usual manner. "Don't try to pretend that's not true. I've seen you throwing your arms over him a second ago!"
"She did what?!" Coming from the front the car, Steve's voice called.
"Eyes on the road!" Nancy scolded him.
"Excuse me? Why is this stray child bullying me?" Stacy huffed, rapidly crossing her arms.
"I might be a child but at least I'm not throwing a temper tantrum like a two-year-old," Erica snapped, a smile of victory on her face.
"Hey, hold your horses, Lady Applejack," Eddie smirked, visibly amused by the turn the conversation took.
"Oh? And who are you to give orders, you long-haired freak?" the little girl scoffed, her face vibrantly expressive.
"Steve! One of your kids is out of control!" Stacy called.
"She's got a point!" her brother answered her, purely entertained by what was going on in the back of the RV.
A few minutes in, he stopped the car on the top of a hill, just a fair distance from Hawkins. Taking out the supplies, Nancy once again divided the tasks amongst the group members. Spread across the field, Stacy took her place in between her brother and Robin, setting up their homemade station for preparing the Molotov cocktails.
"This looks like a fifty-year-old man's formal attire," Stacy complained after Steve handed her a spare jacket they had bought for her at the War Zone. The brown leather that appeared slightly worn down despite being brand new, the U.S.A tag plastered to its sleeve, and even the zipper with the propeller manufactured on it... it all added up pretty quickly in Stacy's mind.
"Don't complain, fashion queen. Either that or you'll be running butt-naked in the Upside Down," Steve replied, placing the first can of kerosine fuel in front of him. "Chop, chop. We need to get to work, girls."
A blot of disgust took over Robin as she complained, "Ew, don't say that ever again."
"Ditto," Stacy shrugged before pouring the flammable substance into the bottle Steve was holding.
The first potion of ammunition didn't take long to finish. It certainly required less strength than what Dustin and Eddie were doing — hammering nails into the trash can lids. Focusing her eyes on them every now and then, a smile flourished her face each time she noticed the metalhead cracking a joke and the freshman bursting in laughter. The comforting picture brought serenity to her soul, as if simply watching them was substantially better than any other pleasantries. Glancing over the bickering Sinclairs and Nancy conversing with Max was equally sentimental.
It was just like she was stargazing — observing still points in the sky, knowing nothing could change the sight. Yet, the intrusive thoughts that swarmed around the dark scenarios displaying on the edge of her consciousness were like a ginormous meteorite, demolishing everything on its way.
Stacy would've lied if she claimed she didn't do anything in her power to stop herself from overthinking. Quite the opposite — she had tried every single method she could possibly come up with. Still, the only thing that brought her any sense of stillness was watching Eddie. Who, on the contrary, was now play-fighting his younger curly-haired friend.
She failed to see the subtle nudge Robin gave Steve before she claimed she was going inside the RV for another can of kerosine. Therefore, hearing Steve speak up for the first time in few minutes made her jump.
"He's a cool guy," he claimed out of nowhere, confusing his little sister.
"Who?"
"Oh, come on. You've been smiling at him this whole time," he explained, pointing at the silhouette in the distance. Stacy's mouth opened to prevent the awkward conversation, however, Steve spoke before her, "The way you look at him... the way he looks at you... I'm not gonna lie, it makes me kind of jealous no girl acted that way towards me."
"Steve..."
"Firstly, I hated it. You're my sister and of course seeing you romantically interested in anyone makes me want to barf, but... as an advice of an experienced older brother... Don't waste your chance," he finished his monologue, nostalgia coming over him.
"It's funny coming from you," Stacy chuckled, showing a cloth down the neck of the bottle.
"Why? Because my love life is a failure?"
"Geez, no!" Stacy squealed, jokingly hitting his shoulder. "Because we don't usually have this kind of talks."
Steve scoffed, giving his sister a side-eye, "That's 'cause you're an annoying little shit."
"And look at you... You've adopted four more of them," she replied, pointing at the Sinclair's, Max and Dustin.
"Talk to him, Stace," Steve returned to his previous point. "At least one of the Harringtons deserves to be happily head over heals," he added, patting her back.
"I need a cigarette," Stacy stated, getting back from her seat and heading to the opposite side of the van.
Crouching, head in her hands, she tried to reevaluate everything that was going on inside her head — her worries, her fears. She wondered if her brother was right. If his statements were true. Taking a chance seemed so distant to her, so irrational at the brim of the battle they were going to endure. Simultaneously, Steve's words echoed in her mind, confirming each other with every second she reconsidered them.
"Your big brother told me you went for a cigarette... Is it invisible or something?" The voice that calmed her so many times before asked, seeming extraordinarily cheerful in comparison to the last few days.
Standing before her, Eddie Munson held a package of Red Marlboro's, one of his hands supporting his hip.
"Have you ever listened to Baba O'Riley by The Who?" Stacy wondered, her fingers mindlessly taking one of the cigarettes.
"Yeah. What kind of question is that?" Eddie chuckled, siting right beside her and he lend her his lighter.
"Did you know people confuse its title with Teenage Wasteland because the phrase repeats so many times in the song?" she asked, continuing her far-fetched statement. "To be honest, for the longest time I though this song was called that way, too. It fits well with the rest of their discography because most of them focus on the troubles of teenager-hood..."
"You sound like you're high," he smirked, watching her inhale the first puff of nicotine.
"Brings back memories, huh?" she joked as she handed him the cigarette. Shared, like the first time they smoked his supply together.
"Only back then I wasn't proclaimed Eddie the Banished."
"No one's even calling you that," Stacy giggled.
"Dustin does!" Eddie argued playfully, seemingly offended at her statement.
"All right, Eddie the Banished," Stacy shook her head in disbelief, continuing to smoke before adding, "I'm waiting ‘til someone'll address me as Stacy the Goblin Princess."
"That’s a shitty title to have," he claimed, pouting childishly.
"Didn't remember asking you what you think about it," Stacy scoffed dramatically.
"Atrociously uncreative if you will," he replied, not realizing the both of them got closer to each other during the span of their small bicker.
"You're the one that's atrocious," she chuckled, placing her head on his shoulder.
"Considering I came here to give you cigarettes? Totally."
Stacy took a deep breath to stop the small giggles from escaping her mouth, failing miserably as laughter devoured the both of them.
"I realized that I'm in an emotional destitute lately," she confessed out of the blue, moving a bit further to take a better look at him.
"Where's that coming from?" Eddie asked with a smirk on his face.
"The Who song," Stacy murmured. "Let's get together before we get much older," she sang quietly watching his confusion only furthering.
She couldn't believe her brother was right.
"I don't even listen to them that much but for some reason... Those lyrics have been stuck in my head ever since I got behind this goddamn RV," she disclosed, holding his hand before she hummed another line of the song, "Sally, take my hand. We'll travel south cross land."
"Did you just call me Sally?" Eddie bursted out, not being able to hold a serious expression.
"What else do you prefer? Buttercup maybe?" Stacy asked, her tone still hushed.
"Hey! Now that's stealing," he claimed as his arm wrapped around her waist.
"Right. That's atrociously uncreative as well," she giggled, her hands finding their way to his neck.
This time, she didn't close her eyes when she leaned forward. Tangling her fingers in between Eddie's hair, she pulled him ever so slightly towards her, however... it was him, who now backed away.
"A-and what about what you've said earlier?" he asked, making sure her decision was fully conscious.
"Decided I should change my mind... or rather Steve did," she explained softly.
"God, I'll be thanking him for the rest of my life," Eddie breathed out seconds before he draw her to his arms, their lips crashing.
Ever since Stacy had started fantasizing about this moment, she had never imagined it would've be that magical. With her hands in his hair, her body shifting to his lap as he supported her by the waist, Stacy felt the butterflies she thought to be captured in her stomach forever fly far above her head. In the hazy state of mesmerizing warmness, she deepened the kiss, allowing his lips to fully capture hers. She noticed she was smiling the whole time only when holding her expression became painful. Yet, there was no other way she would imagine to be whilst Eddie's hands moved higher to hug her even tighter. The uncomfortable position didn't bother them since their wet lips and short breaths were the only things they could focus on. Even the taste of the cigarette smoked before seemed to entirely evaporate, leaving only a sweet sensation of pleasure.
It was when Stacy realized the preparations for her early death were pointless.
They were, because now she was going to do everything to survive.
CFV IfMate (Or as I call it, Legion Mate 2 Electric Boogaloo)
A canon divergent verse combining the aspects of the seasons of Legion Mate and IF with flair from Vanguard G!
Featured Muses: Emi Sendou, Aichi Sendou, Misaki Tokura, Asaka Narumi, and Rekka Tatsunagi (Possibly Yuri and Takuto if I can figure out a place for each of them)
Exclusive To: All of @abysseeker ‘s CFV blogs & @extremebattler
The long dream should have ended with Toshiki Kai’s victory. He was supposed to have beaten Aichi Sendou, releasing the dormant Link Joker seed from within him and with help from Blaster Blade, spread it’s broken pieces across the world and begin the acceptance of the entity as a clan on Planet Cray. That was what the correct history should have been.
But it wasn’t.
Toshiki Kai was defeated at the hands of Aichi Sendou, and as a result, he had to honor the promise he made. After all, the results of a Vanguard fight are sacred to Vanguard Cardfighters. Aichi does the same to Leon, Ren, and Naoki, defeating them and thus forcing them to honor their promises as well.
And with that...the world was once again a place where no one remembered the legendary hero known as Aichi Sendou, whose slumber was guarded by four Quatre Knights and a maiden knight who will protect his sealed form forever...
Three years pass since the world’s memories were once again manipulated, and everyone’s lives had continued on. Emi Sendou and Kamui Katsuragi graduated middle school and entered into high school. Misaki Tokura and Miwa Taishi had graduated high school and entered university, and the second Card Capital Shop had been built with Kamui as an employee. Rekka Tatsunagi and Suiko Tatsunagi continued as a pop idol duo, with no one remembering their third member. Asaka continued to be a prime member of Asteroid, doing what she can to manage the falling organization whose leader went missing.
One day, Emi Sendou makes contact with Toshiki Kai again, a strong cardfighter and regular at Card Capital that had gone to the Euro League after he graduated. He often had stopped by the Sendou Residence prior to his departure, providing them with baked goods or offered to do housework for them. Even being away, he still sent them things in the mail. She didn’t ever understand why an acquaintance would go out of their way for them, but Kai always explained it as he was just helping them out like any good neighbor would.
Seeing him visiting Japan again, when his friends said they hadn’t seen him in years, makes her start to question things, but he doesn’t give her a straight answer. But...something about what he says, a little slip of the tongue, causes a crack that eventually breaks the barrier blocking her to her sealed memories.
Emi Sendou had a brother, a brother who went missing, a brother who was loved by all, a brother who saved the world... And she was now the only one among the regular folk who remembered him.
Following down a similar path as Toshiki Kai did before her, Emi slowly starts gathering ‘mates’, comrades who she begins to help slowly remember Aichi. Together, they not only desire to bring him back home, but also bring back the missing people from their lives, Ren, Leon, Naoki, Kourin, and Kai, who had been honor bound into doing something they all desperately didn’t want to happen in the first place...
Will history repeat itself with the mates failing to save the forgotten Vanguard, or will it be second times the charm? Guess only time will tell as the story unfolds...
How do you think things would have happened in Ironwood's office if the Seer Grimm wasn't thier. The positive side of me wants to believe that things could have been talked over. Their would be hurt feelings yes, but sometimes just saying how you feel can make things better. The cynical side of me thinks that everything in Vol 8 would have happened nearly the same way.
I guess that really depends o a few things. He already sent Winter to get the powers because of the chess piece. If he was already planning on leaving at that point then I think things would be roughly the same because nobody in that room would’ve had another plan. If it ends in RWBY getting warrants then Clover still dies and things go to hell.
If Ironwood only wanted to leave immediately because of Salem showing up and the news of army of grimm coming, then maybe things would’ve been different. I think the immediate sting that would have to happen is Weiss telling Ironwood she knows the way to the winter maiden and she should take Ruby there if Cinder is involved because silver eyes.
Jaune would eventually call about Oscar missing. I think good faith would be sending one Ace Op like Harriet and then you send Blake while everyone else goes back to Mantle and have Robyn join them. Now you have the teams mixed again and nobody is about to pull a fast one without someone not from their team knowing and bad guys in Mantle fighting a lot of people.
Then everyone feels good until a fucking whale shows up nobody expected. Hopefully more people have been evacuated at this point but unless Oscar cares to bring up the staff to everyone or anyone gets a plan besides Ironwood, then I think you gotta leave. 😅
I think that’s probably my most optimistic view on how things could be different. They argue, work together because of Cinder and Neo, gain a little bit reconciliation, everyone is now together when discussing the whale. I know Ruby and her friends are all morally aligned, but think it would’ve helped to have people like Qrow, Ren, Oscar, and Jaune because everyone else either heavily on Mantle’s side or follow chain of command like proper soldiers. Those four just want things to workout and are pretty middle. Clover and Penny might be on that line too.
Who knows, maybe of Oscar was there Oz would’ve came back and been like “Everyone shut up. I got ideas.” I bet James would’ve listened to him! All he wanted to do was speak to Oz again for help.
charmed 1998 what if’s/au (these are what if’s i came up with and saw and like from across the internet)
what if the sisters found out about paige earlier because she was phoebe’s high school stoner buddie/apart of phoebe’s high school rebellious clique
What if Phoebe met Paige in New York?
what if paige grew up with her sisters
What if leo got with phoebe instead of piper
What if phoebe got with dan instead of piper?
What if paige was the result of an act of teenage rebellion, (before she met victor) her conception being not only part demon but bring older then the sisters this being the reason she was given up for adoption?
What if melinda cursed the warren line?
What if the Source of all Evil was an ancestor of the Halliwells?
What if paige was the source's heir that's why he thought he could bring her to his side so easily then the queen of the underworld plot would go to paige the heir to the throne
What if after her her parents died instead of becoming a social worker paige became a doctor or a psychiatrist while still in their internship she met ava nicolae they became friends and she decided to listen to her "crazy" aunt and became aware of the witch world.
What if paige worked at a hospital doing social work where she met ava nicolae?
What if the sisters met Paige in Season Three and became friends with her before finding out that she was their half-sister in Season Four - so she could truly mourn Prue as her friend?
What if Billie was the fourth sister in Season Four?
What if Paige and Billie were twins who made up the ultimate power. this scenario is obviously for a prue survived the s3 finale. Also instead of christy being a character the triad kidnapped Billie and she has her powers and Paige has billie’s because projection is such a Paige power.
What if it was Paige who was kidnapped by the Triad as a child and raised by demons, and Prue, Piper and Phoebe learned of her existence in Season Eight, after they helped Paige’s adopted sister and Leo’s new charge – Billie – rescue her?
What if Billie and Christy's last name was Warren rather than Jenkins (that the females in their family truly kept their maiden names) and Paige was *their* half-sister and together *they* were stronger than Prue, Piper and Phoebe - that *they* were the true Charmed Ones (obviously in this scenario, 'The Witch is Back' never happened)?
What if Paige was raised with Billie and Christy as their adoptive sister and never meet her birth family?
What if paige had a mortal great niece or nephew via sam
What if after the the sisters took care of kali her powers get left inside of aviva
What if aviva was slightly older and the college roommate of Paige
What if after binding her powers, Patty and Sam gave Baby Paige to Andy's parents who raised her as their own, while still living next door to the Halliwells, so Patty and Grams could keep an eye on her?
What if Andy had a child with his first wife?
What if Sam was a darklighter (who fell in love with patty)?
What if Sam and Patty gave Baby Paige to Victor who raised her?
What if Sam was the Charmed Ones’ whitelighter rather than Leo?
What if Prue’s second power was levitation and Phoebe’s second power was astral projection, with Phoebe getting hers before Prue got hers?
What if Paige knew about her powers before Season Four and used them to help innocents long before she met Piper and Phoebe, so she continued to use them that way even when her half-sisters didn’t?
What if Paige was already a mother before she discovered she was a witchlighter, Charmed One and was related to the Halliwells?
What if whitelighter didn't exist but instead they have traditionally angels i.e castiel from supernatural
Continuation What if paige was a nephilim and her dad was samael aka lucifer
Continue, what if all church were bound by the "safe haven" law witches, reformed demons and warlocks etc. All magical creatures can find esylium at a church because the gorgylse protect them from evil.
What if instead of waiting a month for Piper and Leo to return in season 3 premiere, hoping to find piper Prue and Phoebe cast the lost witch spell which eventually leads them to discovering Paige?
What if Piper truly couldn't accept Leo's marriage proposal because she truly wasn't ready to get married, so the Elders took Leo away until she was older and more mature which only happened after Prue died and Paige use her social service skills to help Piper get over both Prue’s and Leo’s loss?
What if during ‘Love Hurts’, when Piper told Leo not to give up his powers, since then he wouldn’t be able to save the next Daisy, he left and never returned until they met Paige and her husband/whitelighter - Leo?
What if Paige was the future whiteligher that Leo had the sisters protect from the dark lighter
What if leo had daughter with his first wife
Phoebe was Nicholas' daughter (the warlock from that 70s episode) and not Victor's?
What if Grams died while the sisters were still kids and the Matthews, who had already adopted Paige, decided to adopt the Halliwell sisters, too, especially because once Grams died, all of their powers came unbound and the Matthews were also witches?
What if one of Paige’s adopted parent survived the car crash?
What if the diner Patty worked at was their family diner allowing piper to take over the family business?
What if phoebe opened p3 instead of piper
What if Grams didn't ruin Prue's plans to study photojournalism out East?
What if due to the pressure Grams was putting on her, Prue ran away from home when she was a teenager and never came back, so Piper, Phoebe and Paige were the Charmed Ones from the start?
What if one of the Halliwells died while her powers were still bound, forcing Grams to consider introducing the remaining two to Paige so the Charmed Ones could fulfill their destiny?
What if around the time she got sick grams told the sisters about paige
What if patty keep baby paige in spite of the elders who couldn't take away the girls birthright because they needed them.
What if paige grew up with her sisters being the twice blessed child and her sisters being the charmed ones
What if piper died in awakened and they found paige then.
what if paige actually died in that accident with her parents that’s how she unlocked her whitelighter side “without dying”?
what if paige got placed back with her birth family after her parents died?
What if phoebe gave birth to "twins" her and Cole's child and the seer and source child
What if Grams was right about Wyatt, that he was not the baby Piper was supposed to have and was instead Phoebe and Cole’s baby while Piper was supposed to have Prudence Melinda?
What if wyatt was Mathew the son of paige and simon marks? That's why he's so powerful not that twice blessed plot hole.
What if the Valkyries didn't exist on an island in the middle of the ocean but instead was Valhalla as depicted in Norse mythology so the sisters have to battle the actual Norse gods like Odin, Thor and Loki?
What if Andy’s spirit was a warrior in Valhalla and was the one Darryl had to fight?
What if the demons and their powers were a little bit more literal
What if paige was the friend that pratt killed in ‘Morality Bites’?
What if Grams and Patty never died and all five of them lived in the manor with Paige eventually making it six?
What if Penny didn't strip the Charmed Ones powers and instead trained them?
What if Piper really were unable to conceive as the doctors thought?
What if Darryl died in place of Andy and became their new Whitelighter (after Leo died in Love Hurts)? Then all the Whitelighter-having-a-family drama comes from Darryl's storyline with Sheila and their son?
What if at the end of ‘The Magic Hour’, Leo's soul was recycled because he tried to secretly marry Piper?
What if Piper died in AHBL instead of Prue?
What if in ‘All Hell Breaks Loose’, Leo was made human as punishment for losing Prue?
What if phoebe ended up with the cupid from s2 instead of coop?
What if phoebe was the daughter of a cupid or eros the god of love
What if the sister ages, power and love interest were swamped, paige being the oldest pheobe being next (a la fiona Gallagher) with telekinesis, prue having the power to freeze and piper able to see the future.
What if "Piper you were born in the middle" what if there was a larger age gap between prue and phoebe that why they seem so distant because they feel like only children and piper is spack dab in the middle of it (I was thinking of a twelve year difference between prue and phoebe kinda lilo and nani but more extreme but with an peace maker sister in the middle paige is stitch if your wondering. Being irish twins like so close ppl think they are twins)
What if whitelighters (or Elders) and guardian angels didn’t exist, so witches grew up and learnt their powers by forming or joining covens, so the sisters had to join the coven they met in ‘Witch Trial’ or Grams’ old one with ‘Aunt Gail’?
What if Phoebe became a psychiatrist instead of an advice columnist?
what if Paige didn't resign from South Bay social services and she accepted her promotion to social worker?
What if Phoebe swore off men? Became more like Grams?
What if Paige was allowed to be the Only Child she was raised to be, so that once she knew about witchcraft, she could become the leader of the Charmed Ones, but treated her older half-sisters as adults rather than children as Prue did, letting Piper and Phoebe grow up and truly become adults?
what if Paige figured out how to orb up to the elders and kept orbing in unannounced asking too many questions and making too many demands to the point the elders eventually started forcefully orbing her back to her room in the manor each time. Just like in the way Cole forcefully teleported piper back to the couch in the manor in the mummy episode.
 What if Phoebe disliked Cole from the outset and he had to try to seduce one of her sisters?
What if Paige and Gideon got romantically involved?
What if Phoebe wrote books for children as was implied by Prue in season 1
What if Victor was born into a warlock family and assumed a role like Brendon and turned good but Grams didn't believe he could change and why he left?
What if Chris got the charge he slept with in 'Forget Me Not' pregnant?
What if the sisters grew to adapt to their lifes as witches
What if Paige was the only sister to survive Something Wicca This Way Goes? and raised Wyatt and Chris with Leo and Victor
