Actually? Can't stop thinking about this possibly expanded Time-Loop Of Bad Ideas AU? Because EVERYONE could get one! That Idol was made for Life Lessons and good at it's job!
Why NOT Moar Loops~☆?
And? Was GOING to suggest the whole BatFam. But this time not together. BUT THEN? My muse(adhd brain) smacked me and called me a coward! Go BIGGER they demanded! That sexy, sexy genius(me)!
That bust was probably not in Gotham! Or at least, not FULLY in Gotham. Maybe it was Superman, maybe someone else, but SOMEONE saw the Idol when Bruce found it.
We have PROTOCOLS, Batman.
That YOU made.
GDI. He sighs, but admits it's true. And Magic Bullshitry means getting scanned for Curses and Compulsions. Everyone up to the Watchtower. *various Bat Children groans of annoyance* No getting out of it. Come on, better this then getting possessed.
They Zeta up. Annoyed but here.
It's late and they'll probably miss dinner.
Come to find out? Fuckin EVERYONE but Captian Marval and Wonder Woman, who knows Magic, is off doing "Magic". Just... unspecified, vauge, could be anywhere, "Magic".
REALLY?!
AND they get pulled into a last minute, emergency, meeting about where they should store the Idol. Because all Wonder Woman and Marvel can TELL them about it? Is "Yep, Cursed. Probably."
And so they are annoyed. Everyone is arguing. Tensions are getting higher and higher. Somebody mutters a snide comment about somebody ELSE'S sidekick, and? Punching breaks out. Shoving. The big three stand to break it up.
But it's too late.
Some IDIOT throws a CHAIR. Their target, being a trained hero, OBVIOUSLY dodges. Which means it sails right across the table and HITS THE IDOL. Crash!
BOOM.
Everyone is slammed back by a lightshow and huge wall of air. Wonder Woman is FURIOUS. Marvel scared. Everyone gets checked out. Everyone, Go Home and isolate for AT LEAST 24 hours. Report any symptoms or strange thoughts.
They go home. Go to bed. Midnight.
Click.
Everyone locked in their own little Loops.
Now, some of those affected? Lesbians. Married and grossly, gooey, shmoopy, "No, yooou~♡" hang-up type In Love. Or just not in to him.
But! How many people in Loops? Do you think? Get that Bad Idea impulse~
Feel their eyes get drawn towards the Highly Competent and Sexy, Red Robin? Pretty-boy Tim Drake? Their Friend, colleague, or the son of such? It's a time loop. Who would ever know? They HAVE always been... curious.
I mean, they'd treat him right. It's not like they're HURTING anybody! Doing anything against his consent. It's just a Bad Idea.
Batman would murder them. Nightwing would help. Launch them straight into the nearest black hole. Or it would CHANGE things. Their relationship altered forever. Or... well, he's their Brother. Their Son.
So many reasons Not Too.
But it's a Time Loop.
They wear you down. Mentally and emotionally. You get lonely. A little bit crazy. Start doing things you know you shouldn't.
Like eating out your Boy until he's sloppy and ruined, fingering him for hours. Just to feel that sweet heat in your hand. Lazily resting you head on a trembling stomach, not letting him escape. Not hearing him ask for it to end, only whimper that it's too much. Because he's so good for you. And always has been.
Or finally breaking down, when the loneliness gets unbearable. And clinging like an octopus, as you bend your little Tim in HALF. Rolling and snapping your hips like you want to crawl inside his skin. Soaking in the pleasured cries your punching out with every thrust. How CLOSE you finally are.
Sneaking in windows, early in the morning. Teammates, Supers and Speedsters. Crimelords, here to pound him rough and sweet on his own bed. People who should NOT, but do~
Why so early? Uncle Clark?
What brings you to Gotham, Hal Jordan?
Hi, Roy, looking for Jason?
Even crossing paths, as choices diverge things. Ah, Aquaman! Your Majesty, what did you need me for?
All while Tim is, in his OWN Loop? Discovering that Sex is actually kinda awesome. And that he should never be left unsupervised. But mostly the first one!
And THIS time? Because I am a generous and benevolent Enabling Jackass? He DEFINITELY steals Dick's "time to threaten Deathstroke" burner phone. And uses it for purposes other then intended.
One stack of info, several shiny new crates of ammo, and showing up in Dick's Robin costume later? He's in Cairo getting his guts destroyed by a supersoldier. The day resets before Slade even breaks a sweat. Tim on the other hand? Passed "fucked incoherent" about three hours back and would probably shoot him, if the dick weren't making him too uncoordinated and stupid.
Nonetheless? Bats pull miracles. And Tim finds Constantine. Who refuses to TOUCH anything of the "learn a life lesson" variety. Since too many deity have it out for him.
But he is just a man.
And finds himself suddenly MUCH more agreeable and willing to try, after being dragged into another room and slammed against a wall. Blown by Batman's kid.
Nothing like face fucking a Robin to motivate a man to greatness, he discovers.
Which? Is when everyone gets their assorted bank of Loop memories. Lot of boredom for a few. Lovey Dovey bonding for others. Life lessons etc.
But?
Oh.
Oh My God.
Kon is panicking. As it filters in. Tim, bro, he can EXPLAIN! Constantine has cut off in amusement. Because, see? This? This right here is why he avoids- blah blah blah- *white noise* *Distant sound of Kon panicking and his Phone trying to explode itself with texts*
Because HOLY SHIT. Tim stares into the middle distance and realizes? So... SO many people jumped at the chance to fuck him. Like... A LOT.
So many.
His head is FULL of getting RAILED. Kon looks like he's gonna cry. Clark is ripping the door off the hinges. He can explain! Kon no longer looks like he's gonna cry. Explain WHAT, Clark?!
Tim fucked...So Many People.
Or was it Fucked By?
Both?
Does.... does he have Boyfriends now? Bootycalls? A harem?
..............whoops?
*arguing over Tim only gets louder as more Heros show up*
-🐼🐼🐼
all of them taking the opportunity to fuck tim- including some people tim's horny brain hadn't even gotten to considered but now had memories of fucking!😭😭

part eight
❝ DAY ONE (AND A HALF) ❞
SATURDAY — 6:29PM BENTLEY FINALLY TOOK A SHOWER. He went through the wringer trying to keep his hand and forehead out of the water as much as possible, but the bandages on his hand still ended up soggy. It’d been a while since Bruce checked on him (though he probably stuck his head in when Bentley was taking an hour long shower.) but he didn’t mind. He’d taken time to look around the room and decide it wasn’t actually that much like home.
For example, Bentley had a grandfather clock sitting by the door at home, but here, there was a little digital one on the nightstand. The wardrobe wasn’t full of crisp meeting clothes, but of some hand-me-down looking items that had been organized by color before he arrived. The windows didn’t have annoying decorative velvet drapes, but had actual, useful blackout curtains. It was low on decor simply from being uninhabited, not because Bentley’s father forbade him from having toys or trinkets to mess with.
He’d been laying on his bed for a while now, watching the digital clock count each passing second in a multicolored neon. He wasn’t sure when he was supposed to go downstairs. Sure, Bruce told him he could whenever he wanted to, but last time he’d left his room without explicitly being told to…
He eyed the bandages on his hand. Yeah. He’d rather just stay in the bedroom. Staying couldn’t make anyone mad. No one had told him he hadto come out — so staying in sounded safe enough. Plus, he’d already determined he’d survive a drop from the windows should the need arise, and that he would might be able to brute force them open if he had to. He wasn’t so sure how to escape from the rest of the house if Damian decided to pull a sword on him, and he knew he couldn’t beat the Robin at a foot race.
A room with many points of escape was safest for someone on the defensive. Which he would be, if that child assassin was perusing him with a katana.
He was so busy thinking through what exactly he’d do if Damian tried to impale him that he flinched when there was a light knock on the door.
His father never knocked on his door. What do you say when someone knocks on the door?
He straightened, moving to the edge of the bed and dangling his legs off. “Yes?”
It sounded more like a self-aimed question than an actual response to the knock, but the person slowly opened the door anyways.
“Hey, bud. Just coming to let you know dinner is ready. Would you like to come down, or for me to bring it up?” Bruce peeked into the room with a sheepish look on his face, as though he hadn’t raised, like, seven kids before Bentley got there.
The child didn’t respond immediately. The Wayne’s just cooked for everyone in the house, even if Bentley hadn’t done anything for them?
Or maybe it was to get Bentley to do something for them. Nightwing cooked for Bentley before he asked him if he would come to the Wayne’s. Wasn’t that kind of like his father giving him a protein bar if he did good during a meeting?
“Uh…” He started, glancing down at his tennis shoes. He’d pulled on the same pair of Damian’s clothes Nightwing had given him after his shower, because he didn’t want to mess with anything from the wardrobe he wasn’t supposed to. “I…”
He couldn’t stay in one place forever. Plus, if he met Damian at the dinner table, maybe he wouldn’t murder him.
Bentley was definitely not more afraid of Robin than he was of Batman. (Or that’s what he kept telling himself.)
“I’ll… come,”
There was a silence, so Bentley glanced up at the doorway to make sure Bruce was still there. He was.
“Okay,”
Bentley pushed himself off the bed and willed his body onward, through the door that Bruce widened when he approached. He let the sleeves of the hoodie slide over his hands so he couldn’t see the bandages.
“Tim is still at the office, so it’ll just be me, you, Alfred, Damian, and Duke,” He explained quietly as they made their way through the halls. Bentley was thankful he was near the stairs, or he’d never find his way off the top floor without an escort. “Damian is eleven, and Duke is seventeen.”
Bruce headed down the stairs, and Bentley followed silently behind like a good dog.
Luckily, the dining room was only a few turns away from the front door, should he need to run from katana wielding super-sidekicks. The table was large — really large — already set nicely for five people. Several different kinds of food Bentley hadn’t seen before sat steaming in the middle of the table. The dining room was lined with windows, golden sunlight shining through, and everything from the fixtures to the actual plates and forks seemed to be in just the perfect places.
Bentley promptly avoided making eye contact with the pair already seated in the dining room.
“Bentley, this is Duke and Damian. Duke, Damian, this is Bentley,”
Bentley stayed silent, and did nothing but glance back and forth between them.
Damian was in the leftmost seat on the right side of the table, eyeballing the other child  with a trained skepticism. He looked just like the pictures Bentley’s father had shown him, all the way from his spiky black hair to his menacing aura. Now that he and Bruce were in the same room, Bentley could see he was much darker than his father, and their eyes were on complete opposite sides of the blue spectrum. Bruce’s were an icy grey, while Damian’s were nearly green. If Bentley didn’t know Damian was Arabian because of his mother, he’d have guessed he was adopted like the rest of Bruce’s kids.
Duke was sitting next to him with a sheepish smile, his rich brown skin shining in the golden dining room. His black hair was cropped close to his head. Bentley really hoped he wasn’t planning on whipping out his fancy superpowers anytime soon.
Duke’s deep brown eyes sparkled as he spoke: “Hey, Bentley. Nice to meet you.”
Bentley blinked. He highly doubted that.
“… Hi,” Was the child’s muted reply.
Damian spoke up: “I suppose it is nice to make your acquaintance.”
Bentley shivered. Because his inflection, his vocabulary, the way he spoke with just enough elegance and dignity to hide the venomous undertones reminded him so much of his father.
“Bentley, why don’t you have a seat wherever you’d like, alright?” Bruce stated with a small smile, pulling out the seat at the head of the table next to Damian for himself. Really, Bentley would’ve been fine upstairs in the bedroom, but he sat on the other side of Bruce instead. Right across from Damian, who seemed to glare daggers naturally. Not to mention he was probably carrying daggers.
Bentley went to pull his knees up on impulse, but decided he probably didn’t need to put his feet in Bruce’s nice chairs. Instead, he took to staring at the tabletop.
(Last time Bentley put his shoes on a piece of furniture, he got hit with them. And nasty, grubby tennis shoes to the face didn’t sound fun.)
Dinner was fine, if not a little long. Alfred had made some kind of fancy alfredo that Bentley struggled to eat a plate of. He could’ve swore, between Nightwing’s experimental pancakes and Alfred’s dinner, he’d never eaten so much food in his entire life. Up until then he’d lived solely off of whatever protein bars, cracker sleeves, and small snacks his father tossed his way when he was behaving. Maybe the occasional meal when his dad was feeling chipper. If the Wayne’s were going to keep giving him food like this, he’d need to develop a second stomach. It had been hard enough for him to choke down both of the meals in one day.
Thankfully, they didn’t talk to Bentley much throughout the meal. Bruce did, and Duke a few times, but other than that it was mostly conversation about Duke and Damian’s days, school, and the like. Bentley listened intently, gathering as much information as he could.
He noticed Damian didn’t say any names or speak about anyone other than Grayson (Bentley assumed he meant Dick Grayson) and Drake (Tim Drake, Bentley also assumed.) Even when he spoke about school, the only other people he actually named were teachers.
So Robin wasn’t one for friends, then. Being raised by assassins probably wouldn’t give someone great people skills anyhow.
Bentley added that to his growing list of leverage.
Duke spoke more about his classmates, and studying for some upcoming test he called SATs. He seemed to really want to make a good grade on it. Bentley didn’t pick up on anything leverage-worthy when he spoke, unless a mysterious school test was enough to break him.
“Master Bentley,” The child flinched when his name was spoken, and his fork clattered against his plate embarrassingly. He felt all four pairs of eyes on him and he didn’t like it. But he turned toward Alfred nonetheless.
He was sitting a chair away from Bentley, only eating now that everybody had been attended to. “How old are you?”
Thankfully, that was a question he didn’t have to lie about.
“I, uh… just turned ten,” He replied softly, staring down at his plate. He saw Duke and Bruce shift in the corner of his eye, and Damian stayed eerily still, like he was trying to internalize every single syllable that came out of Bentley’s mouth. “…last week.”
“Happy belated birthday, then,” Alfred continued with a small smile and nod.
Bentley blinked. When was the last time anyone told him happy birthday?
Bentley found himself hiding his confusion behind a small, forced smile. “Thanks.”
“Of course,”
The table fell silent again. Alfred excused himself to begin cleaning and packing up the food, and Duke and Damian both left the table soon after.
Bruce sighed as he stood up from his seat. “How are you feeling? I know this is all new…”
Bentley glanced down at his hands, fiddling with them in his lap. “Good.” Was what he said, despite feeling terribly guilty that he had to destroy them and utterly terrified they’d find out beforehand.
“Duke and Damian are probably off to their rooms. You can go, too, or I can give you a tour. Or if you wanted to watch a movie or read something we could do that, too. Whatever you’d prefer,”
Bentley hated having so many options.
“I… think I just want to go to bed,” He stated. Bruce nodded on the immediate.
“Would you like me to walk you back to your room?”
“No, I can do it,” Bentley said a little too quick for his own liking. “… thanks.” He added, just so he didn’t sound rude.
“Don’t hesitate to find one of us if you need anything,”
Bentley nodded as he pushed himself out of the dining chair, sliding it back under the table. One thing he definitely would not be doing was bothering unarmed Wayne’s at seven-thirty.
He managed to work his way back to the front door and staircase alone, and thankfully, made it to bed without having to speak to anyone else.
Being surrounded by so many people could be exhausting, and he hadn’t even done anything.

Owls!OT4
continued from here (moved to a new thread to use Beta editor):
When Rye leans into the kiss that Jayn presses to her head, Jayn already knows what her friend, her college sweetheart, is going to do. She's smiling on the inside, and that makes her feel sick--guilty, because it's the little bit of Owl that she hasn't scraped off. It's the part of her that goes into a bloodthirsty rage when she's confronting someone who's hurt innocent people, especially children. It's the part of her that used to seduce tall men with dark hair and green eyes, or curvy women with red hair, telling them whatever they wanted to hear so they wouldn't mind too much when she came on their fingers screaming someone else's name. It's the part of her that she fears she was born with, evidenced by when she looks back and sees all the times she got in trouble with her mom. She feels horrible because she knows she told Rye exactly what she needed to, in order to get the girl to say yes.
Janice Wayne was an Owl. But Jayn Katherine Loren isn't.
"I think Rye should be with me a couple of hours before. Just me." She holds her hand up in Tim's direction, stopping him before he can bark some snippy retort or start planning her '"accidental" death. "If it's like this again, where it's all four of us together, Dick will know we're planning something." They'd all been trained to be paranoid enough. "He knows that Rye and I have a past, and it'll seem like we're just catching up, which we are. We'll talk...and then I'm going to train her. The way Selina trained me." Selina, bless her, actually wasn't a creep of any kind, so she hadn't touched Jayn so much as let her watch while the Pussycat (it was the name of her establishment, but you were supposed to call her Mistress) showed her some seduction techniques. "It'll keep Dick satisfied...until we come in." She also planned on giving Rye a nice bath, maybe with some candles, to help her wind down, but Tim didn't need to know that. He'd die of jealousy.
Tim feels like a goddamn raccoon trying to hiss and fend off the asshole humans who are dumb enough to ask for their trash back. Why is Jason seriously trying to fight for Jayn's affection when she's obviously got her own agenda?, he's wondering. Tim was pretty fucking sure that she hadn't bothered trying to contact her lost love since she first left. Jason should've given up on her and buried his face in the cunt of Ultraman's niece Kara, like he seemed so eager to do the few times that they happened to be in the same room together. She might've (accidentally) killed him, depending on how she liked it, but at least he wouldn't be pining and looking pathetic now. And of course, Tim's glaring daggers at Jayn every second he isn't focused on trying to murder Dick. Why did she conveniently arrive the night he privately announced his engagement to Rye? Maybe Jayn's whole presence is just a test from their father...but he can't attack her yet. As much as he hates to admit it, Jayn is part of Rye's chance to survive her time alone with Dick.
So when Jayn gives Rye a chaste kiss, Tim is initially livid. If Rye hadn't come back to him a second after Jayn kissed her head, he would have found a reason to put the brunette in a chokehold. But Rye manages to calm him with her yes. He wraps his arm (possessively) around her waist, whispering how she's gonna be perfect, and he'll never see it coming. When Jayn begins to deliver the specifics of her plan, he clenches his jaw (something his dentist had warned him against doing any more than he already had). "It's up to you," he tells Rye, and he means it. Because once Dick (and Bruce, since he won't stand for his oldest's assassination) was dead, Rye would be Tim's forever. He'd seen how she looked at him when the Court of Owls introduced them, compared to how she looked at him now. He had already won her over. She'd get her engagement ring after she slept with Dick, since it would be a distraction (or knowing the Talon, a weapon). The wedding was just a formality--one of many luxuries that Rye would be able to enjoy as his new wife.

thursday thots
Happy Thursday!
Okay… happy couple getting engaged right at the start of a cold open only for them to get immediately targeted?? Didn’t we do this on svu like two weeks ago.. ugh..
Also I JUST finished last week’s OC before this started and I’d like to say: jet, amazing, love her so much, her and Danielle absolutely CRUSHED their performances. I’m also salty murphy got away, and lowkey salty that Elliot stopped Ayanna from shooting him, because you cannot tell me that if he knew about lewis he would have murdered him with his own bare hands to get revenge for olivia….
ANYWAY, back to this week:
Listen… OC needs to get their shit together about how they’re running the show. I don’t mind doing the ONE perp over the ENTIRE season, but they only managed that with Wheatley, s2 was split between Elliot UC and the brotherhood, and s3 has somehow linked the whiney casino man into the murphy arc and that’s now over but also not really over, and it only spanned like, 3 episodes… like.. FIGURE IT OUT guys…
January 91… excuse me… I’m 99% sure Elliot started as a detective in 89… but why do I even THINK the writers, esp of different shows would bother to look into that kinda shit before scripting it…
Yeah I’m not here for this, I’ve already stopped paying attention. LOL
3d printed GUNS!?? Wtf….
This bruce guy is obsessed with jet. Like.. do not blame him, but LOVING the protective mama bear Ayanna giving him a death glare.
Yeah… did not care about that AT ALL.
Mothership:
I missed the very first start, just caught the part of shaw being frisked by uni’s. fucking oof.
“smells like he bathed in merlot”  “that bottle’s probably the murder weapon.” This girl has sass. Love her.
This uni comes to “apologize” to shaw ONLY because he’s up for detective and doesn’t want to risk that promotion?! Maybe you shouldn’t be a racist POS before you get to be detective. “the colour blue” yah go FUCK yourself….
I’M SORRY. Was I LISTENING CORRECTLY!?? Was that guy’s name Donnelly?!! Come ON.
Okay… but are we actually ignoring the connection of the victim, his ex wife’s new bf who works with the perp?? Even if it was self defense there’s still something fishy going on…
I fucking KNEW IT!!! I KNEW IT!!! THE NEW BF SET HIM UP FUCKING CALLED IT.
Okay so it may not be the new bf, but there’s definitel still some kind of connection going on, im only half paying attention, y’all know this already lol.
Okay, overall, a decent good episode for once. Not enough sam but that’s always the case.
SVU time. Finally
Wow… what a fucking SAPPY start to the cold open jfc…
“who’re we interrogating?”  “you.”
Jesus. This is cold. Like how is this going to work out? What angle were they going with this story line? What is the POINT??
At least its giving octavio a good chance to show off his acting.
Honestly this episode is beautiful, heart wrenching but beautiful
More churlish!!!???? Tbh  I really like her, so I’m totally down if she joins the squad. And we already know she’s got more eps coming up thx to molly’s insta story…
“you’re 180 lbs of water in the shape of a man, you take the shape of whatever you’re poured into.” Olivia benson when did you become a profiler because you are spot on. Poor boy’s been through so much trauma he’ll do basically whatever to stay alive. He’s always wanted to do what’s right, to make good of the wrong’s he’s done in the past, let’s stick with that arc, okay? (also 180… cmon…)
Okay, overall, great episode. Now I wish we could get back to the full ensemble cast eps and cut this crap of not seeing someone for 2 weeks at a time. Ugh.

I may... have gone insane and started writing a fanfic with Bruce Wayne and Harvey Dent at the aftermath of the Wayne family murders. (We need more Bruce and Harvey being best friends content)
Like all comic book writers, I kinda messed with the timeline a bit and made it so that Harvey knew Bruce before his parent's deaths. Bruce and Harvey are supposed to be around eleven years old here.
Anyways here's what I've written so far!!
Alfred could not imagine a more horrible thing.
The Waynes... Martha and Thomas, whom he loved so dearly - gone. He could hardly bear to think of the two of them gunned down in an alleyway, with Bruce unable to do anything to stop it. An awful death for the two people that least deserved it.
The police had arrived much too late, finding Bruce huddled on the ground of the alley, tears streaming down his face and hands gripping his mother's clothes, unable to let go.
They had told Alfred that Bruce was unable to say anything about what had transpired. He hadn't said a word since they had found him.
But Alfred had heard his sobbing at night and that was all he needed to hear.
Rain soaked streets.
The exiting of a theater.
Blood and pearls scattered in the night.
Carried by the rain into the sewers of Gotham.
Gone, just like Bruce's mother and father were.
Alfred shook his head, hoping to clear away the images his brain conjured up at the thought. He did not want to dwell on what Thomas and Martha might have looked in their final moments.
But the Wayne family murders seemed to be the only thing anyone else wanted to talk about. The paparazzi outside of Wayne Manor was proof of that. Dozens of people making camp outside of their home, hoping to get the first look at little Bruce after the tragedy.
It was awful.
It seemed like, to the paparazzi, Bruce Wayne was no more than a character from a film. One who you could watch from a distance. Separate from reality.
Heaven forbid that he was an actual person with feelings, who would be affected by a dozen strangers camping out on his front lawn, asking how he felt about his mother and father having had their brains blown out.
It had gotten so bad that in between the phone calls offering their condolences there were some from reporters hoping to talk to the last remaining Wayne.
Alfred could not fathom how some people thought calling for that was a god idea. The nerve.
He had already disconnect most of the phones. One was left connected, in case of emergencies, but everything else remained unplugged.
It so happened that said phone kept ringing. It angered Alfred greatly. He had already hung up without bothering to check who it was around five times already.
The phone rang again.
Alfred stared at it for a moment, realizing that it would be better to get the phone call over with. He picked it up, trying not to let his irritation show.
"Oh good!" The voice was distorted but relieved, happy to finally have someone pick up the phone. "I've called like a million times already! You kept hanging up!"
"I'm sorry, who is this?" Alfred replied, as dry as possible. His finger hovered over the phone's hook switch.
"Alfred? It's Harvey!" the voice said, disbelieving.
Embarrassment crept into Alfred's cheeks. How had he not recognized Harvey's loud and bombastic tone? He cleared his throat, "Ah, yes, I'm sorry Harvey. What can I do for you?"
"It's alright," Harvey mumbled, "I was calling to ask... well, about Bruce."
He paused, as he prepared to make his next question.
"Is... is he alright?" he asked, voice softer. The question was absurd. Of course Bruce was not doing well. But Alfred realized that Harvey was genuinely worried, but didn't know what to say.
"I... I heard the news. On the bus." Poor boy, Alfred thought, what was a best friend to do in a situation like this?
"Do you think I could talk to him?" Harvey asked.
"I'm sorry, I don't think that would be a good idea. He's not in the mood to talk to anyone."
"Maybe I could come over?" Harvey prompted, "I could just... be there. He wouldn't need to talk."
Alfred glanced at the hallway, which led to Bruce's room. He wondered wether he would appreciate Harvey coming. He had not been very responsive to Alfred's attempts to coax him out.
"I'm afraid that would be wrong. Bruce's upset and grieving."
"Please. I need to see him." Harvey's tone grew desperate. "I want to be there."
Guilt clawed its way up Alfred's throat.
"Alright."
He heard a rush of air breathed into the phone's receiver. "Thank you Alfred!" He heard muffled talking as Harvey held the phone up to his chest to silence a conversation he was having with someone. After a moment, he spoke, voice clear again, "I can be there in a couple of minutes."
"I'll be on the lookout," Alfred replied, "Careful with the reporters."
He moved the phone away from his ear.
"Reporters?" He heard Harvey's voice rise as he hung up.
Alfred wondered wether he had made the right decision. He knew that Harvey always managed to get Bruce's spirits up, and if there was someone who could get him to talk it was him. Still, he worried that he wouldn't be able to handle it. The Waynes had been like a second family to Harvey. Their death had surely affected him.
He looked at the phone for a moment, wondering if Harvey would actually show up. He figured that he had to be at school, given the hour. Perhaps he had been talking to the principal, asking for permission to cut class.
Alfred shrugged, he had to give him credit for his persistence.

The Bat-Man Recap #8
In issue 34 of Detective Comics, we join Batman back in Paris. He never left and this continues from Issue 32's story. This isn't relevant. I wonder if this was a backtrack or an issue that caused them to jump over this story. Maybe they just had an idea for Paris and then thought why make an excuse to go back.
Tumblr media
Ya think the guy without the face would be the important part of this story, but no him having no face has nothing to do with the plot. It's just a fucked up thing that happened to him. I know there's a character without a face that shows up in DC later (Nevermind, he's a character from the 60s that DC brought. Faceless characters are just a thing I guess). No, our plot starts with a random woman getting into Bruce's taxi.
Tumblr media
So this is gonna be Racist, isn't it? Why are Native Americans the villains in a European city? No, clue. So I google Apache to see if it refer to anything else. I did find a disturbing British Public information film about the dangers of farms. Maybe it was really about the danger of cultural appropriation.
Tumblr media
Okay, it's actually some old-timey racism where a gang of violent criminals in Paris were referred to as the "Apaches" during the early 1900s. I guess in 1939, the audience would have known this immediately. So the term comes from a racist place but maybe there will be no racism in this story directly. I don't know if the faceless things comes from that or if it was added for some spice. How does he eat if he has no features? He's not blind so it doesn't make any sense. I know comic.
Tumblr media
Bruce Wayne's secret identity is about as secret as needing water to live. I guess this is the first time he does something so blatant. He discovers Julie Madison as Batman by chance so there's deniability as Batman does get invested in people quickly.
Tumblr media
Batman loves a sewer. Also, a death trap.
Tumblr media
This is the newest game show hitting the airwaves...as soon as TV shows become a thing, they retooled into Wheel of Fortune as even then the legality of strapping contestants was questionable. Batman escapes into a interesting garden that causes him to have a breakdown for a bit.
Tumblr media
Do the garden of human faces come up ever again? Not in this comic. These are girl faces so maybe there's a garden of male faces or something. I'm starting to wonder if this was stolen from something or if Garder Fox was just writing things from his nightmares. A lot of Batman came from pulp novels, so the French Apaches were in novels and films.
Tumblr media
Can you imagine telling a stranger to kill someone for you, I guess word has sprand about Batman being serial killer.
So
Tumblr media
Another one bites to dust. This is less murder as kidnapping someone comes with these risks. Also, he steals faces which reminds me of how horrifying the DC universe gets.
Tumblr media
A secret that is completely obvious if thought about for a second. Lucky for Batman, only he can think in his universe.

#also the context for this is#bruce was framed for murder as bruce wayne#it was almost impossible to prove his innocence but bruce obviously didn't murder anyone because he's batman#obviously the bat fam is trying to prove his innocence#but they can't find anything#and so some of them actually start to think maybe bruce did murder someone#but then bruce goes stir crazy in jail#breaks out#decides to throw away his identity as bruce wayne and only live as batman#obviously the bat fam confronts him and is like hey you didn't actually murder someone right?#and bruce fucking refuses to answer#FOR NO REASON#he literally could just say no and that would be the end of it#anyway bruce tries to run away but dick stops him and is like hey i never once doubted you and also you're my dad so what the fuck#bruce and dick get in a fight#dick accidentally shatters the memorial to jason#bruce escapes and then monologues about how he expected more from them and now he's finally 'free'#it's an interesting concept for an arc but poorly executed#also if bruce just waited for the bat fam to prove his innocence and worked with them none of this would have happened#god i hate it when dc is like batman works alone#ok then why does he have robin#why does he adopt his sidekicks#why did he join the justice league#why is he friends with superman#why does he train new heroes#why does he allow people to know his secret identity#why does he work with gorden#why does he keep Alfred around#hell even in this arc he wouldn't have been able to escape jail without alfred so don't give me that bullshit#he's nothing without the people around him

More Alfred as a complicated, flawed human being.
Because let's dig into Alfred often disapproving of Bruce's decisions and delivering dry wit, yet rarely actually pushing against him. Let's dig into the times he has fought with Bruce or tendered his resignation--sometimes followed by very petty acts! Let's dig into the ways he is and isn't responsible for Bruce's treatment of the kids--the things he doesn't know about because he’s not omniscient, the things he knows and tacitly approves of, the things he doesn’t approve of but also doesn't push back on enough. And the ways Alfred can fail to understand the kids when Bruce does (because in this DC universe of child sidekicks, a lot of these kids did need Robin, which Bruce could see but Alfred didn't get). Or how about just the simple fact that Alfred is, indeed, a stiff and stoic British man, and though he inarguably loves his family, he may not always be as expressive as some of these kids need or want.
Alfred who is stiff and British and not at all like the warmth and exuberance Dick is used to, leading Dick to initially believe Alfred hates him. And Alfred who maybe is skeptical of Bruce taking in a kid, let alone helping that kid solve a murder, because he doesn't quite understand what Bruce and Dick share. But he eventually sees that he doesn't fully need to, because Bruce and Dick are both better for it. Alfred who (sometimes uncomfortably, sometimes even reluctantly) learns to meet Dick halfway in his gestures and expressions of love.
And Alfred who sees Bruce getting colder to Dick years later, but can never quite figure out how to mitigate it. Who eventually sees Dick made to feel unwelcome in his own home and fails to stop it.
Alfred who is skeptical again of Bruce bringing in a second kid, and so soon after Dick. Maybe who is, pettily, initially disinclined to love this apparent replacement for the pseudo-son that just left...but winds up finding a grandson in Jason anyway. And Alfred who doesn't call to tell Dick any of this. Doesn't keep him informed of the news. Seemingly may not even keep in touch. Alfred who tries to help Bruce after Jason’s death, but is himself mourning a beloved child and can’t just play therapist to others.
Alfred who, at last, does endorse this third Robin, because he's finally come around to see Robin as healing to both its keeper and to Bruce--but still hasn't quite figured out how to protect Robins from Bruce. He supports this child trying to be responsible for an adult’s well-being. Alfred who makes a point of sticking with Tim and helping him after resigning with Bruce, because he cares about Tim--but also because he is pettily sticking it to Bruce.
Alfred who is cold, borderline mean to Stephanie at first, because he has fully decided to take Tim's side and doesn't think she's good enough for him--even if Tim himself would be upset to learn of this. Maybe looks down at her. At some point, realizes he was wrong, and decides either to make amends or to quietly brush past it; ends up friendly with Steph.
Alfred who initially knows Cassandra only from the messes he cleans up for her, only later meets this baffling young woman who never even realized someone had to clean. Alfred who buys clothes for her because she needs them, but also picks out...strappy cocktail dresses, things Cass would never be comfortable in.
Alfred who simultaneously recognizes that Damian is a child in need of support, and is incredibly annoyed by him. Who only manages to truly bond with the child when it is just three of them and Bruce is gone.
Alfred, looking back, knowing he has made mistakes. Wondering if he didn't try hard enough to help, if he didn't fight hard enough against certain ills. Having gotten a bad start with some of his charges, and yet found wonderful and sweet relationships with each of them nonetheless.
(And the majority of this, for the record, being directly pulled from comics.)
..it's just. It's so much more compelling to me than: Alfred, the all-seeing, all-knowing, always perfect man who everyone loves instantly.

hi!! adore your work love. could you maybe do smth where stark!reader has to get her wisdom teeth out but HATES the dentist so she brings her boyf peter and her dad w her?? and then when they get home the avengers are all waiting with like comical amounts of flowers and stuffed animals and then reader says some funny shiii and thor thinks she’s like dying lol. idk if that made sense but i’m getting my wisdom teeth out soon and i’m scared😭 thank u so so much love u babe
pairing: peter parker x stark!reader
a/n: tysm lovely :,) i rushed through this like my life depended on it, but i hope i’m not too late. either way, i hope you’re okay! it’s frightening but those bad boys gotta go because we don’t need that kind of energy in our lives. enjoy x
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
wisdom teeth? more like wisdoom
y/n has to get her wisdom teeth removed and it’s the singular most dreadful thing she’s ever had to do, which says a lot because her dad is tony richling stark
doing dreadful things she doesn’t want to do but still somehow end up doing just because she can is a personality trait at this point
no one really makes a big deal out of it since ~death~ is part of their job description, but y/n is terrified
and when a stark is terrified the only thing that will keep them one step from insanity is researching the hell out of it
that information will be info dumped into every conversation for the next few weeks leading up to the appointment
“y/n you need anything from the store?” "no thanks, did you know the side effects of getting your wisdom teeth out include ✨sudden death or blood clots✨ tho” “……..i have a coupon?”
the day of the appointment, peter comes along and literally doesn’t let go of y/n’s hand. he keeps touching her to let her know that he’s there and it’s so. adorable
he would rest his hand on her knee, gently stroke her back while holding her, or just play with her hair
happy drops them off and he’s too Cool™ for emotions but he knows y/n’s a wreck, so he just fist bumps her with a single nod and she almost breaks down bc it’s really affectionate
y/n is sitting in the dentist chair and genuinely nothing is happening yet, but she’s squeezing peter’s hand like it’s a sponge
peter might have a high pain tolerance but he’s in pain pain and he prays that his hand won’t just explode on him
the dentist notices how peter tries to keep it together and chuckles
“you okay there, son?” “yea it’s fine, had a better time when a building fell on me tho haha” “pardon?” “oh i mean i didn’t have a good time, i just had a better time”
because y/n is running Anxious Town™, the dentist gives her a sedative to help her relax
plus, an injection of local anaesthetic to numb the tooth and surrounding area
she doesn’t feel anything and it’s GREAT
the procedure is quicker than expected and now the real fun begins
she tries to walk but she falls down so peter scoops her up bridal style and happy stays glued at her side
y/n doesn’t mind although she literally doesn’t recognise them and they’re practically strangers to her
but girly sees an opportunity and tries to flirt with peter bc why wouldn’t she
“you’re pretty” *blushes* “why thanks” “you should let your girlfriend know” “i should let her know i’m pretty?” “so you do have a gf? :(” “yea it’s you” “:)”
they stop for gas and peter goes in to get some water for y/n, and in her infinite wisdom, she decides it’s burger time
her mouth is completely numb and she’s practically leaving a trail of drool behind her, but she’d kill for a burger right now
so she wobbles around aimlessly for an hour on some random parking lot as if the ground might just magically open up like a rabbit hole and lead her to five guys
she’s going places. not back to the car. definitely not five guys. they’re closed. but places
peter finally finds her and he’s drenched from head to toe in sweat. he doEsn’T wAnt tO tALk abOut iT tho so she lets him take her to subway instead
normally, she would know that peter’s usual subway order is bread-lettuce-jalapeño
but in her drugged-up state, it had simply slipped her mind so now she’s staring at him like he’d just murdered someone right in front of her
“that- that’s your order?? no meat or anything just bread, lettuce, and a little spice?”
meanwhile at the compound, sam and steve are ordering everyone around bc they want to decorate this place before y/n gets home to surprise her
they take it very seriously too. they’ve watched like one HGTV show and said it’s our time
they finally get home and tony gives y/n a big hug, asking her what took so long
happy tells him that she was keen on getting burgers bc apparently someone has taught her that stressful times call for ~cheeseburgers~
he proceeds to look at tony with a pointed look
tony just shrugs and goes “she was a problem child. we don’t mention her dark past”
she’s swaying on the spot and keeps grinning like a fool and thor just stares at her weirdly before elbowing bruce and whispering loudly,
“what’s wrong with her? is she dying? should i start collecting leaves, i know this remedy—"
no one can tell if y/n is just happy to see the newly decorated home or if she’s just delighted to see everyone but then she goes around hugging the entire team
she doesn’t even acknowledge the sky-high pile of teddy bears and flowers everywhere bc she’s just squeezing everybody
y/n is so high, she just starts to spill all of her feelings about everyone and they’re already so overwhelmed by the hug chain they can’t take this too
“wanda i just want you to know that you’re like my big sister and you’re always taking care of me and i know you and vision are just going to make such good parents one day”
“bucky you absolute PRICK, you FIEND, you’re the best chess player ever and that’ll never change and i wouldn’t be good without you, i hate to say it but you deserve happiness even after you made me lose five times in a row yesterday”
“dad, you’re so strong and smart, even though we’re like never on the same page, you’re always along for the ride, i want to be like you when i grow up, i swear i’m gonna try to be as good to the avengers as you were to us” “aww- wait makes you think i'll be the first to die“
“nat you’re such a bitch about your protein shakes but you’re my best friend and i wouldn’t have it any other way, you can try out as many make up looks on me as you want”
“bruce, brucey, i would live with you in your lab for the rest of my days if i had to, whenever you ask me to hand you stuff i feel useful and important”
“laura’s way out of your league clint i have no idea how the fuck you got her but don’t lose her and i want to be your next child’s godmother”
“steve…we’re your family now. we’re always gonna be your family now. okay?”
“loki you’re not fooling anyone with your attitude, we all know you’re part of the family, you were just misunderstood and messed up bc of your dad–FUCK him by the way–but i realised everyone deserves as many chances as they need because of you”
“sam i would genuinely kill anyone who wronged you, even if they cut you in line at the grocery store, i would knife them no hesitation”
“thor, you poor golden retriever have been through so much, on my way here i made a wish on an eyelash for you bc you deserve better, your postcards always make my day, love you”
she mumbles something to peter that no one else can hear but he blushes and chokes back a sob
y/n orders hot soup and bucky brings it to her but before he even has time to react peter drops everything and ZOOMS across the room in .3 seconds
he barrels into bucky so hard they both go flying, but peter just smoothly rolls out of it and onto his feet like some kind of super ninja
“DUDE WHAT THE HELL” “😠 y/n is not supposed to drink hot liquids 😠”
all of this happens in mere seconds but sam has filmed it all and now slow mo clips go viral online of some mysterious kid knocking over the winter soldier
y/n’s a little in and out after that, but when she fully regains consciousness, she’s on a pile of blankets, surrounded by the team on the floor <3

You know what? I feel like talking about Edward's character arc in Gotham, because instead of focusing the whole "obsession with women" that he did, they should have focused on the very first issue that was presented with Ed's character and that is how he was treated by others, especially the cops. We constantly see Ed being treated like shit by everyone for being "weird", including Kristen, and instead of punishing this type of behavior Gotham pretty much condones it by showing that Edward is actually really messed up.
Tumblr media
Now, granted, the best way to deal with this at all would have been for Edward not to snap at all and prove all of those cops wrong, but I think that having Edward snap would have worked way better than him killing his girlfriend "by accident." It would have made more sense for Dougherty's death to be an accident/self defense (which it kinda is) and then having Ed realize that it feels good to punish those who are bad, specially corrupt cops. I think it would have been very interesting to have that whole thing with Pyg in s4 happen with Ed in either s1 or s2 abd Edward goes vigilante at first. Then it would make sense to have Jim start investigate the murders and for Ed to target him, not out of hatred and paranoia, but because Ed is getting close to being caught. This could make Ed a much more dangerous and terrifying character. I also think he shouldn't hate Jim, at least not at first. Sure, he should act superior as his ego gets the best of him the more he kills, but Jim is the one cop Ed always admired since he never treated him poorly and actually did his job. Maybe Ed still blames him for the murders, he could definitely pull that off, and then he is ultimately bested by Jim, Bruce, Harvey and Selina thanks to the power of friendship or whatever.
S3 should start the same with Os getting Ed out of jail and you could even add the whole love triangle plot by adding a woman who actually genuinely appreciates Edward's work (and does NOT look like miss Kringle!) Then Oswald either kills her or scares her off into running away and then Edward becomes convinced that Oswald is just messing with him like the other cops. Even when Oswald tells him that he loves him (that happens earlier) he doesn't believe it. He thinks it was just like what happened with miss Kringle where she acted she liked him only so she could make fun of him behind his back. This is where Ed's paranoia and selfloathing really start kicking in. He is so traumatized by someone in his treating him like shit, he can't believe or understand that he could be loved. So the rest of the season goes pretty much as normal because, hot take, I think later s3 is not half bad.
Tumblr media
I will make one alteration to the last episode of S3 where instead of freezing Edward Oswald looks at him and just lets him go as proof that he actually does indeed love him and if Ed. Edward leaves and we don't see him for a while after that.
We start s4 with Oswald trying to learn about any news on Ed but learning nothing new about him. Edward seems to be hiding from him. And he is, he has been staying low for a while trying to understand his own feelings and the fact that maybe, just maybe he could be wrong when he runs into Grundy who kind of starts following him. Not wanting to keep him around but also being unable to kill him, Ed brings him to Sherry's place where big strong guys go to fight and make a buck. Unexpectedly, Grundy wins and Ed decides to stick around him for a little while to make some easy cash. That's when he meets Lee, and this is very important, there is no romance between them because the romance between these two literally kills both of their character arcs and makes no sense. Instead, they become reluctant friends since Lee is a familiar face and kinda sorta understands the whole feelings business, so he goes to her for guidance and they grow close. Eventually they bond over their mutual distate for corrupt cops and inability to find love to make the Narrows a better place, with Edward focusing on the more gruesome like keeping people out of the Narrows and Lee dealing with the rest. Eventually Edward goes back to Oswald and helps him from Arkham and maybe- just maybe- Ed decides to give Oswald another chance as well as this whole dating thing. Or maybe they are just friends because, let's face it, F*x is homophobic.
Maybe in s5 he sees Oswald's frustrations regarding Jim and males his duty to prove to everyone he isn't the saint they see him as (I don't like Ed's plot in early s5) and then he just goes to make the sub.
I think that Gotham focuses too much on Ed's obsession itself rather than what he obsesses with. Ed isn't just obsessed, he needs to be the best. He is prideful and arrogant and while he is in Gotham they make it seem like it is all about the women which was never the point? Out of all of Gotham's main villains Riddler and Ivy are definitely the oddest choices in the show, because all of the other iconic characters had at least a period where you could very clearly see how they became their true selves and the show wasn't sure how to use them anymore. With Ivy and Ed that isn't the case though since both of them seem quite different from their personas from the get go. Now, please understand that I love Gotham's Edward, I really do. I think he has some great moments and an... interesting... arc, but he is so farfetched from all other Riddlers? And yeah, new takes and all that but Idk it just feels a little odd when a lot of Gotham's adaptations could very well become the versions you find in the comics

AGREED DO THE ULTIMATE FIC REC
Thank you so much for asking!! Okay, here we go!
DC fics that I got a few paragraphs into and already KNEW were going to be AMAZING:
1. The Jason Project by loosingletters
Warnings: Major Character Death
Jason had just wanted to see his autopsy report, he had only wanted to know what information Bruce had about his death. And when Bruce hadn't given it to him, he had stolen it. He hadn’t meant to stumble upon the bucket list of a dead child and the footage of a grieving father crossing one item after another off the list.
My thoughts: I don't often cry (which isn't healthy lmao) but this fic made me cry (happy tears!). It is absolutely wonderful and while angsty it has such a beautiful ending. I can't recommend it enough!
2. Little bird by Ididloveyou_once
Warnings: Creator Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings
Tim knew he was fucked if only for the way that his brain was chanting Jason, like a litany. So he definitely didn’t need to hear the cold, mechanical chuckle or the chillingly delighted 'lucky me' to know that this was not good.
He took a second to look down at his coffee mournfully.
Then, he threw it at Hood’s helmet and bolted down the Tower corridor.
Or: Tim is supposed to be at Gotham Academy for a parent-teacher conference. Hood has other plans (Titans Tower AU).
My thoughts: One of the best Titans Tower AU fics I have ever had the pleasure of reading. The ending is to die for and so fluffy - it never fails to warm my heart <3
3. Straight to Voicemail by cabbagetop
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
“Red Hood. I need you to incapacitate Timothy Drake-Wayne.” “Aw, man,” Jason sighs, shouldering through the old wooden doors and out into the street with his books under his arm. “You and half the northern hemisphere. What’d he do this time?”
Jason's phone is blowing up about one Timothy Drake-Wayne (who is Jason's responsibility since when, exactly?). Jason comfort-eats. Jason suffers long. Jason reluctantly tries to keep this Raphus cucullatus of a human being alive, and maybe finds himself sidling back into the family while he's at it.
My thoughts: I was crying with laughter by the third sentence. If you want free serotonin, you will find it here folks, I guarantee it. Brilliantly written and hilarious and such a fantastic interpretation of Jason's character. Please read this lmao <3
4. miss me? by envysparkler
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Jason’s plan to observe his family’s reactions to his resurrection…does not go as intended.
My thoughts: I think I've recommended this one at least once before, but I will do so again because it is one of the best stories I have ever had the honour of reading on AO3. It has a happy ending, but was another fic which actually made me tear up. It is just beautiful and I'm sure some of you have read it before. Read it again even if you have - it's that good.
5. No Pain, All Gain by @sohotthateveryonedied
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Bruce checks Tim’s IV. “Are you in any pain? Do you need more morphine?”
Tim’s pupils are so wide that only the faintest ring of blue can be seen. He watches Bruce the way a five-year-old watches cartoons. “I’m all good, B-dog. All Gucci, like we cool teens say." His words are slurred almost beyond recognition, but Tim doesn’t seem to notice or care. "I could fight Superman right now.”
My thoughts: I know of only about 3 or 4 fics featuring Tim absolutely high out of his mind on some drug or another and this has got to be one of the absolute best of them. Whenever I feel the Depression(TM) crawling in and I need to laugh INSTANTLY I read this. It has not failed me yet. I can't recommend it enough it's so funny and a great read <3 The line below from the fic makes me scream laugh EVERY TIME:
“He’s not in his right mind.” “So? Neither are you half the time but you’re still in charge of everything.”
6. The Ouija Boy by SunnyBlue
Warnings: Graphic Depictions Of Violence
Timothy Drake was a stillborn baby. He was born dead, stayed that way for a solid five minutes, and was then resuscitated in the delivery room. He was a child who grew up alone, but for his imaginary friends. He had so many imaginary friends, in fact, that his parents sent him to get evaluated several times over the course of his childhood, which was spent with Tim as the only heartbeat in that house.
But that didn’t mean he was alone.
---
Tim sees dead people. When a Batboys murder investigation is going nowhere, he realizes his only chance at solving the case is to speak to the ghost of one of the victims. He has to reveal his secret to his brothers -- or risk the killer getting away.
My thoughts: STAND BACK FOR POSSIBLY ONE OF MY TOP TEN FAVOURITE FICS OF ALL TIME. I'm pretty sure I've recommended this one before but I will do so again. The story is impeccable, the mystery is ELITE and everything about it is literally perfect. I re-read this at least once a month so I can bask in its greatness and become a better person for having read it.
7. there but for the grace of god by TheResurrectionist
Warnings: Creator Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings
From a tumblr prompt.
AKA, "A Justice League fic where everyone argues about who's the most beautiful and intimidating sexy from the Big Three and everyone has valid points."
My thoughts: I'm going to let the note I added to the bookmark I made of this fic speak for itself. Here's what I wrote: "This was so funny - shoutout Jason for undeniable lad vibes plus the fact he felt he needed to neatly organise and write down the big three's sexiest traits."
8. American Ninja Worrier by DangerBeckett
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
It's just like Tim to give a poor college student a start in the business world. Kid's a bleeding heart, and usually, that's the sort of thing Jason avoids at all costs. He prefers his bleeding hearts on the literal side, and despite Bruce's best efforts, he's never had a head for business.
Unfortunately, though, this time the business is ninjas, and that's the sort of thing that makes Jason take notice. Because Bruce is useless, and someone's gotta make sure Tim's new internship program doesn't take down all of Gotham.
That's Jason's job, after all.
My thoughts: Please GOD just read the first few paragraphs. You'll know exactly what I mean when I say that this fic is it. Hilarious, badass and adorable. I mean, see the title of this fic rec. I just knew this fic was going to be amazing from the first line.
I have many, many more of course, but I'll leave this here for now as it's getting to be a pretty long post. Anyway, these are all fics - short and long! - that I knew were going to be absolutely perfect within the first few moments of reading. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did!

Taking Chances Ch. 2 Finding Out (Family/Friends)
Prev
AO3
@maribat-bdbwm
“Mari!” Adrien yells, running past Batman to sweep her up in a hug. Marinette’s face instantly heats up, but she buries herself into the hug. After all, it’s not every day she faces a supervillain determined to kill her with a dangerous weapon...without her suit, anyway.
“I’m okay. I’m okay.” Marinette reassures him, relishing in the comfort. A cleared throat makes her jump back and look at Batman who, despite clearing his throat and cutting off the most amazing hug ever, has no emotions on his face. Whatsoever. Cause that’s not intimidating or anything.
“The police will need your statement, Miss Dupain Cheng.” Batman says. Marinette nods, squeaking when Adrien reaches down and entwines his fingers with hers. Following Batman’s directions to the awaiting police, Marinette feels nerves flood her systerm as she sees the sheer number of officers on the other side of the door. Sucking in a deep breath, she feels Adrien squeeze her hand. Shooting him a thankful smile, Marinette uses her unattached hand to open the door and step out into the mess of personnel. A man with a mustache and square glasses steps forward immediately, his hand extended.
“Hello Miss Dupain Cheng. I’m Commissioner Jim Gordon. We were in communication with Batman while he was inside so we heard some of what happened. Would you be comfortable telling us what happened? We can get you checked over by paramedics first, if you want.” Commissioner Gordon says.
“Oh, no, no. I’m fine. I don’t-” She starts to say, but a gruff voice cuts her off.
“She should be examined immediately, Gordon. She may have inhaled smoke from the smoke bombs due to proximity. She also could have burns to her face or ears from Joker’s gun. He shot it and then proceeded to prod her with it.” Batman says, the last part of his ‘report’ slightly more gruff than the first. Was he…..worried about her? Marinette shakes that thought off almost immediately. Why would Batman be worried about her? Wait, was he really going to make her see the paramedics when all she wanted to do was talk to the officers so she could get back to the trip?
“I assure you, Monsieur Batman, Monsieur Gordon, I don’t need to see the paramedics. I’m a little shaky, but that’s all. I mean, I was held at gunpoint. I think shaky is appropriate, non?” Marinette asks, flashing the two a bright smile. Gordon raises an eyebrow and glances at Batman who shakes his head stiffly.
“She gets examined.” He says, leaving no room for questions as he pulls his grappling hook (?!?!) out and retreats to the rooftop.
“You heard the man. We can talk as you’re examined, if you’d prefer. I’m sure you just want to put this whole business behind you.” Commissioner Gordon says kindly. Marinette sighs in relief and nods, smiling again at the man. Hopefully this would be taken care of quickly. --- Bruce Wayne was slightly panicking, though he would never admit it. When reports of the Joker being spotted at the Gotham City Museum of Modern Art first rolled in, he assumed his biggest challenge would be keeping Jason from murdering the clown. He did not expect to see a small girl being held at gunpoint. A girl who looked like a strange mix between his mother, and someone else. But he couldn’t place his- of course. Memories flood his mind as he thinks back to the woman who was so clearly related to the small girl. Bridgette Le. A woman that he, at one time, thought he would be able to spend the rest of his life with. Until she left Gotham and cut off all contact between the two. Oh god. She wouldn’t….would she? --- “I don’t understand why that older paramedic looked like she’d seen a ghost.” Marinette says with a pout as she continues working on the embroidery for a jacket for Jagged. Design never sleeps.
“What d’ya mean?” Adrien asks from his nest of blankets on her bed. Marinette tries to focus on keeping her blush down. Apparently, the attack at the museum had scared Adrien more than her, though she imagined he was scared on her behalf. But she couldn’t quite understand why...nevertheless, he had become attached at her hip and hadn’t left her side since they got back to the hotel. Even though all she really wanted was a little alone time to talk to Tikki. Especially about the chance of the Miraculous Cure working here. Maybe if she was in the battle…
“Didn’t you notice? He was fine til he looked into my eyes and then he got super pale. He looked like he was going to say something, but Monsieur Gordon stopped him before he could.” Marinette recounts, remembering the way the paramedic had to switch out since his hands wouldn’t stop shaking.
“I didn’t notice that. That’s weird. Anything else happen like that today?” Adrien asks, finally sitting up and giving her his full attention. Marinette pauses her stitching and purses her lips as she runs the days events back through her head. The paramedic. Batman. Joker. Arriving late to the museum. The cab ride. Being left at the hotel. Coffee-
“Well,” Marinette starts, furrowing her eyebrows as she tries to rationalize the man’s actions in addition to the actions of the paramedic. But something wasn’t adding up. “There was my cab ride to the museum.”
“What happened? Was someone creepy? I can fight them for you!” Adrien offers, a little too cheery. Marinette freezes as she studies his face, searching for something. Adrien had been off all day. More protective than he’d been in awhile. And the few times Lila had spoken, he had scowled at her instead of ignored her. Was he finally coming around to the idea that the high road would not work with Lila? Pushing those thoughts off for another time, Marinette shakes her head.
“No, no. Nothing like that. But as I was leaving, he called me Miss Wayne.” Marinette admits, not expecting Adrien’s uncontrollable laughter.
“He, you, oh my god!” He laughs, clutching his sides. Marinette’s eyebrows furrow in confusion as she sets the jacket down on the desk.
“What?” She asks, completely and totally frustrated with the situation. Adrien laughs for another minute before calming down, wiping tears from his eyes and shooting her a blinding smile. Not his model smile. An actual smile that warms her heart and her cheeks.
“I’m so sorry Mari. It’s just, I think he was referring to the fact that you look like the typical kid Bruce Wayne adopts.” Adrien says and Marinette’s blood freezes.
“Did you say Bruce Wayne?” Marinette asks and Adrien nods, his previous mirth wiped from his face.
“Yeah, Mari, are you okay?” He asks. Marinette nods, then shakes her head, then groans and throws up her arms in frustration.
“I don’t know! I just- you remember how I told you I’m adopted?” She asks. Adrien nods, then stops. A look of mixed terror and awe flooding his face.
“Oh god, Mari. You never told me the name. Your birth father-”
“His name is Bruce Wayne. But there’s gotta be hundreds if not thousands of Bruce Waynes in the US right?” Marinette asks, even as her hope in that idea dwindles.
“The US? He’s confirmed from the US?” Adrien asks, already pulling out his phone.
“Yes. Adrien, what are you doing?” She asks, suddenly worried as she jumps onto the bed next to him, desperately trying to see his phone.
“I’m googling Bruce Wayne and Bridgette Le as a combined search. Wayne is one of the most prominent figures in Gotham, all of his previous relationships have photographic evidence. Except for whoever the mother of his youngest is. But that’s probably because he wasn’t in the country at that time.” Adrien says, typing away furiously on his phone. Marinette’s eyebrow quirks up in amusement.
“Since when were you a master researcher?” She asks with a grin.
“Since one of my best friends found out she’s adopted and it could be the man who hosts the only palatable high society parties. Seriously. And they’d be much better if you were there and-holy shit. Your bio mom looks just like you!” Adrien exclaims, turning the phone to her. Marinette inhales deeply and thanks whatever power there is that she’s not in Paris right now. The emotions running over her at an indescribable speed...not all of them are positive. And they’re all overwhelming as she looks at a picture that very clearly shows her bio mom with Bruce Wayne. As in the Gotham Bruce Wayne. Not a different unknown Bruce Wayne across the country somewhere. Nope. A man who is apparently prominent enough that Monsieur Agreste makes his son go to the man’s parties.
“I don’t suppose she just had a type for men named Bruce Wayne?” Marinette says weakly. This was not what she expected. --- This was exactly what he expected. Looking at the birth records for one Marinette Le, where he’s noted as the father. Though why he wasn’t notified before the girl’s custody was signed over to Sabine Cheng, he’ll never understand. His jaw clenches as he continues reading, eyes scanning over Bridgette’s death certificate before glancing back at Marinette’s birth certificate. A daughter. He had a daughter. Another child that he would never be able to hold when they were small. Another child that grew up without him. Another child that he didn’t meet until they were already a person. Someone with their own experiences individual from his own, someone that may not even know he had found them. And that he wanted nothing more than to get to know someone who was brave enough to stand between the Joker and her friends. Someone who was determined not to let what should have been the most traumatic experience in her life be a set back. He had a daughter. And he wanted to meet her.
***
Next
Note, my headcannon is that the paramedic that panicked did so because he was one of the first responders the night that the Waynes were murdered. And while she looks a lot like her birth mom, Marinette also definitely has Martha Wayne’s eyes and the paramedic could NOT deal. Also, let me know if you want tagged!

Part of why I harp on about Last Laugh all the time is because its not just about Dick killing the Joker which is what Jason always wanted someone to do for him, to know that he mattered enough for that......but also when you erase Last Laugh or discard it because it just doesn’t fit into your perception of the characters as fanon has dictated, like.......another huge factor of the Jason-Bruce-Dick dynamic falls by the wayside as well.
And that’s how Jason’s not only always been convinced that Bruce would kill to avenge Dick’s death.....but in ADDITION, Jason has always been convinced that Bruce would be more forgiving of the kinds of actions Jason has taken, aka murder, if Dick had been the one doing it.
Because see....the other thing Last Laugh showed aside from Dick’s feelings about Jason’s death......is that Bruce very much was NOT okay with what Dick had done. Bruce always said he brought back the Joker because he knew Dick wouldn’t be able to live with having done that, but IMO it was NEVER about what Dick could or couldn’t live with, it was about what BRUCE could live with Dick having done.
Because regardless of the Joker being resuscitated.....Dick was still keenly aware of the fact that he’d still beaten him to death first. Jason’s resurrection, Dick being revived after his own death, those never erased the impact of their actual deaths, rendered them moot, and neither did resuscitating the Joker. If Jason died and it matters? Coming back doesn’t make that unmatter. If Dick only was dead for a couple minutes tops, that doesn’t mean Luthor DIDN’T kill him and he wasn’t still dead; he’d still actually died.
The same is true of the Joker’s death, no matter how short-lived it was. Dick still DID it. Dick was still very cognizant of that. Dick actually struggled with this for a number of issues, though I don’t think that really was about regretting what he’d done so much as that he’d let the Joker ‘win’.....AND it was ALSO about how Bruce saw him now.
And IMO you can’t argue that Bruce only resuscitated the Joker for DICK’S sake and because DICK couldn’t live with that.....when Bruce notably, distinctly, NEVER EVER EVER actually....engaged Dick on the topic of what he’d done there.
Ever.
He went back to Gotham and never made a single appearance to help Dick process things, even when others like Wally showed up in Bludhaven while Dick was holing himself away from the world. Bruce and Dick literally NEVER spoke of it again. Because Bruce wasn’t okay with what Dick had done. He didn’t know how to forgive him or look past it, so he basically did everything in his power to make it so it basically never happened.
And the difference with UTRH is....when Jason showed up, by the time Bruce knew it was him, pretending Jason hadn’t done the things that Jason wasn’t the least bit ashamed of was never actually even an option.
So I don’t actually think Bruce is any more inclined to forgive Dick of things like murder because its Dick.....I think Bruce had to force+quit all thoughts of Dick actually killing, in order to preserve his relationship with Dick.
(Even though his relationship with Dick still suffered, because Dick was still keenly aware that Bruce was not okay with what he’d done, and like, not trying to understand WHY Dick had done it or that he was actually maybe okay with having done it albeit outside of the context of it having played into what the Joker wanted him to do. Like, Dick after Last Laugh still very much angsted about Bruce’s assessment of him after it, and did need that reassurance that Bruce still loved him and forgave him....and what Bruce actually gave him is “I’ll agree to never reference it as having happened and look past it for the sake of our relationship” which is very much NOT the same thing. And with, as I’ve also gone into before, this no doubt being HUGELY central to why Dick was so lost and shaken by his fears of having let Bruce down AGAIN by letting Blockbuster die. These things are absolutely connected.)
The flip side of this is that......I don’t think Bruce was any LESS inclined to ‘forgive’ Jason of murder just because he was Jason and not Dick. In that case, it was just more about the fact that there was no way for Bruce to even TRY to force+quit out of his awareness of what Jason had done. Denial wasn’t going to cut it in the same way it had with Dick, because Dick’s ‘crime’ had been one and done.
But THEN, the flip side of THAT - or maybe we’re just on a tangent now, oh hell, who can keep track, let’s all just agree that flips were flipped and tangents were...tangented - like, the other interesting facet of this for me is if Bruce HADN’T been so intent on forcibly ignoring or forgetting that Dick had killed the Joker, for the sake of their relationship or whatever, or if someone else had brought it up - not only could this have improved Dick and Jason’s relationship, it also could have forced Bruce to confront the logical fallacy inherent in like...his MAIN ARGUMENT for why he was so deadset against Jason’s choices.
And that all goes back to how Bruce has a tendency to project his own worst flaws onto his children, and be paranoid that they’re going to go down the same dark paths he constantly is trying to keep himself from straying down - ironically in part due to how he uses his childrens’ similarities to him in order to build common ground and see a place and purpose for himself in their lives in the first place. He sees himself in his children, that’s what draws him to them in the first place, and makes him act to bring them into his own life and build a home for them....but there’s a double-edged sword element to this too, as Bruce I think often perceives his worst fears for HIMSELF in his childrens’ actions and choices....and acts based on that. Rather than keeping centered his awareness that for all that they are LIKE him in various ways, they are their own people. As different from him as they are alike.
See, because like....Bruce’s primary reason for why he can’t ever allow himself to kill, even someone like the Joker....is because he KNOWS himself, and knows that if he ever allowed himself to cite precedent by doing it even just once.....he’d open up the door and progress through it past a point of no return, whereupon he’d never STOP being able to come up with justifications for why he should also kill this villain and this one and this one. Its the slippery slope argument. He can’t ever start down that slope, because he doesn’t trust himself to ever stop.
And he projects this same logic onto his children, who he seems so much of himself in....the good AND the bad. And so his fears AND his judgment, for both Jason AND Dick when they kill, even just in one special case....is that it sets them both on the same slippery slope. Because they are after all just like him, right?
But also they’re not....as evidenced by the fact that Dick DOESN’T KEEP KILLING. The Last Laugh is basically an outlier (assuming we don’t count Creighton, which I don’t rate the same because while I think Dick definitely did kill him, it was a clear cut case of self-defense and thus a totally different ballgame). Its significant that Dick killed, not just because he did it, and not just because Bruce didn’t actually ever forgive him for it....but also because...despite Bruce being afraid to face or acknowledge it because of how it played into his own fears for his own worst self and choices.....Bruce facing it is exactly what needs to happen in order for Bruce to ever acknowledge that his actual fears of the slippery slope....DID NOT HAPPEN, with Dick. Dick’s never used what happened with the Joker to cite a precedent, to justify to himself the choice to do that again with another villain he had just as much reason to hate.
And from THERE....once you connect all these dots and all these parallels and contrasts and intersections......its notable not just that Jason has killed, and with intent and without regret....but also that there IS no rationale for taking it for granted that Bruce acts differently with Jason’s crimes than he would if Dick committed them, just because its Jason and not Dick.....because the key difference is not WHICH of them did it, its the CIRCUMSTANCES of them doing it....and Jason’s circumstances not affording Bruce the same luxury of denial.
And then from THERE, finally, the coup de grace at the end of it all:
Is it also makes it equally notable that....just as Dick’s lack of killing again after the Joker, like, establishes a counter argument for Bruce’s fears that such a thing is inevitable once Dick killed even once....and with this fear being WHY he comes down so hard on the topic of even his children killing villains guilty of heinous crimes....
Dick’s lack of killing others after the Joker ALSO establishes a PRECEDENT....for the fact that no, killing someone does not make it IMPOSSIBLE to ever step BACK from that ledge if one so chooses. ‘Pulling the trigger’ as it were, even just once, initially....does not doom one of Bruce’s children to a lifetime of never being anything BUT a remorseless killer who can never choose a different path.
And of course, the fact that Jason killing certain people DOESN’T mean that he can’t ever stop, like....this is actually central to the entire Batfam’s dynamics as a whole?
Because after all.....literally every canon story, continuity or fanfic that has Jason reunite with the family to ANY degree, after having killed....which is like, basically all of them.....
These all take it as a given that....Jason is absolutely fully capable of choosing not to kill. He is not LOCKED into anything, beyond the possibility of having any kind of relationship with his family whatsoever, just because he’s killed....with the proof being like....literally all the stories where he still has a relationship with his family despite having killed previously or even still killing in some circumstances in the present!
The slippery slope does not rule all, is the thing. And the proof that Bruce’s fears of the slippery slope once slipped upon, being a one way street straight the fuck to hell, like.....the proof that that’s more a HIM problem than a hard and fast rule that can only ever play out one way for everybody Bruce see himself reflected in?
That proof literally begins with Last Laugh. With Dick. Paving the way for Jason there, rather than making a case for how actually things with Jason and Bruce would look totally different if it had just been Dick and Bruce there instead.
The second you acknowledge that the comics and most fanfics ALREADY take it as a given that Bruce’s projection of his own fears of the slippery murder slope is like....NOT actually any more of an inevitable death knell for Jason’s relationship with his family than Jason’s own actual death knell meant shit about his own longterm survival.....
Then Dick’s killing of the Joker in Last Laugh becomes extremely relevant not just because of what it reveals about how Bruce’s views on murder and his sons doing the murder is NOT actually conditional, based just on which son it is that does the deed most dirty....
It also becomes extremely relevant because of the precedent it establishes in countering the very argument/view that is central to keeping Jason from having any real relationship with his family until Bruce gets the fuck out of his own and everyone else’s way on this front.

Batfam Among Us Headcanons
I just got a 97.5 on my psych final and I am going to ride that high as long as I can so have some fluff
The world’s greatest detectives are extra okay and of course this transfers into how they play games together
They all arrange desks in one of the guest rooms and set up those testing folders to hide their screens
Bruce bought extra computers just for playing among us, they have about fifty just stacked in the middle of the room in case
They used to use their personal computers but they haven’t since The IncidentTM
(The Incident was when Tim killed Damian for the fifth time that night and Damian nearly strangled him with a computer charger... while it was still attached to a computer... and it fell off the desk and died)
(They also started having assigned seats after that, with Tim and Damian on opposite sides of the circle, but that’s just a coincidence, right?)
Dick
“I’m just happy to spend time with you guys”
It sounds like a lie but he genuinely is just happy to have family time, he’s been suggesting it for years
Who knew all it would take was a murder mystery game with little bean people
Too bad he’s so awful at it
Smiles a lot more when he’s imposter
Sometimes giggles a little when he commits a murder
Everyone is lowkey concerned with how much he’s enjoying killing them
But they don’t think about that or mention it because J’ACCUSE!
He insists it’s part of his strategy and that he does it on purpose
Longest long con in the history of gaming
It’s still going, even
(It’s not on purpose)
Jason
“If Bruce is the first one dead it’s Jason”
It makes him very easy to frame
But by god will he continue to do it
Problem is, after a while it became impossible to know if it was him or someone framing him again
And he doesn’t make it easy to figure out
This man hasn’t given a straight answer in his life
“Did you kill him” “No. Yes. Maybe. But I’m gonna say no.”
“What was I doing? Tasks, duh. Where? Places.”
They lowkey hate him
Babs
Originally didn’t play
But eventually wanted to know what the fuss was about
Is now addicted
Even plays when the rest of the family isn’t there
She really only likes the tasks, though
The fact that there’s a murderer on the ship is irrelevant
It’s really obvious when she’s just been killed (at least by bat standards) because she goes “oh”
And then she goes straight back to tasks
Absolutely throws the game when she’s imposter
“Was it you?” “Maybe but have you considered that he deserved it”
Tim
He has made it his mission to figure out who the imposters are every round
Throws accusations everywhere no matter what, he figures he has to be right at some point
His points are all valid but he has trouble giving an actually convincing argument
Trust him guys he knows what he’s saying you’re just s t u p i d
“When I get communication skills it’s over for all of you!”
He does not, in fact, ever get communication skills
When he’s the imposter though…
He also tries to keep up the constant accusations
The reasoning is worse when he’s imposter
But that’s okay because no one understands what he’s saying either way
Kills and then hides in the vents for the rest of the round
They try and stack on vents to catch him out
He always knows
A l w a y s
Steph
She doesn’t care who gets mad at her, she is going to win this if it’s the last thing she does
And what’s her strategy to do so?
She doesn’t really have one
But it’s working
She’s so bold that most the time she stuns people into silence
Blatant lies all around
Will self report and lie her ass off
Will kill in a crowd of people
Will lie and say she was with you even if you only saw her for a few seconds
No one knows when she’s telling the truth
They don’t even know if SHE knows if she’s telling the truth because she is so confident about it
Cass
Isn’t allowed to play
She was allowed to for One Round
The screen comes up and she just says “It’s Bruce and Tim”
It was, in fact, Bruce and Tim
They were not happy with this
Now she sits in the corner and watches them all
It’s a little bit creepy but it’s better than her spoiling the game sooooo
Damian
Plays third imposter when Dick is imposter
Dick will find him alone and run around him in a circle and then off they go
This is never reciprocated
And yet Damian is always shocked when Dick turns him in
Always gets angry when he gets accused
Everyone loves throwing him under the bus
Do they usually think it’s him? No. Are they going to vote for him anyways to watch him get all pouty and whiney? Yes. Absolutely
What else are siblings for?
“I will kill you all!” “That sounds like something an imposter would say” “Not like that!” “That sounds like something an imposter would say”
Duke
Definitely just there to watch them all fight
If this was a few years ago he would have suggested monopoly
He wants to watch the world as we know it burn
But no one ever suspects him of it
They just think he’s too nice
You’d think they’d learn their lesson eventually but this family only has one braincell collectively and, unfortunately, Cass isn’t allowed to play
Sometimes Duke will literally walk away from a body and they won’t even try to throw sus on him
“Duke was standing over a body on cams” “That sounds like something an imposter would --”
Bruce
He takes red so Jason and Tim don’t fight over it
He usually figures out who the imposters are pretty quickly
Too bad he’s always killed first round
“If B makes it to second round it’s him”
That’s okay. He doesn’t like the game anyways
Or, at least, that’s what he tells himself
Whatever helps him sleep at night, I guess

what's the difference between what wanda did to those people in wandavision and what tony did with ultron?
I have so many asks about this. Hate asks, and people wondering what’s going on. This is the only one I’m answering.
Both of them are responsible for their actions. I’ve seen people try and take away either Tony’s responsibility for that or Wanda’s engagement and accountability.
In Tony’s case, the Ultron program was supposed to be a global peacekeeping program to protect the people, acting as a suit around the world to prevent events like the Battle of New York. He was doing it in the name of peace and safety. Tony was rightfully scared because he was the only one who knew what was coming. Wanda intentionally enhanced that fear in him and this drove him to create Ultron with Bruce. He has responsibility for it. Same as Bruce. He owns up to this, he took full responsibility and agreed that they needed to be regulated.
Tony Stark: A few years ago, I almost lost her, so I trashed all my suits. Then, we had to mop up HYDRA... and then Ultron. My fault.
--
Tony Stark: There's no decision-making process here. We need to be put in check! Whatever form that takes, I'm game. If we can't accept limitations, if we're boundary-less, we're no better than the bad guys.
--
Tony Stark: That's good. That's why I'm here. When I realized what my weapons were capable of in the wrong hands, I shut it down and stop manufacturing.
--
If people think he needs to be in jail for it, then I’m guessing the rest of the Avengers too since all of them have made mistakes and killed people too. As a matter of fact, after the events of Wandavision, I’m sure that Wanda should be in the Raft, but because she’s ‘a poor baby’ yall won’t think she deserves that.
SPOILERS
It’s a big possibility that we don’t have all the info about what happened in Wandavision but we’re going to go with what we know so far.
In Wanda’s case, she did it to appease her grief and pain, and I can understand why she would get to that point, she’s been through a lot and maybe she was about to lose her mind. Instead of recruiting Wanda after the Sokovia incident, they should’ve given this girl treatment for her mental health problems. She just lost her brother and passed through a very traumatic war zone, of course she needs assistance. Cap and Natasha were the ones responsible for her because they were training the ‘new’ avengers. Sam was with them and he used to be a counselor to veterans with PTSD. He could’ve helped Wanda with some of her traumas. As shown in the series, Wanda did the whole hex business before meeting Agatha, which means creating that little reality was all Wanda’s responsibility. Hayward and Agatha did exactly what Wanda did to Tony (and the avengers/other people) in AOU. They manipulated her and played with her emotional traumas. Hayward showed her Vision’s body parts and Agatha started to pull strings to know how Wanda did what she did and her real powers while orchestrating against her.
Both of them have made mistakes. No one is better than the other. I don’t understand why some fans want to make someone responsible more than the other or blame one character for the other. While Wanda gave Tony that vision and pushed his self-destructive side to obsess over saving the world, he did create Ultron, what Tony didn’t predict was that the robot was going to corrupt itself. Same with Wanda, while Agatha and Hayward contributed to her trauma, she held hostage and isolated 3,892 people to create her perfect reality, ripping these people away from their identities and free will to fit her own fantasy. Don’t turn this into ‘omg poor her, it’s Tony fault that she’s this way'. I can’t believe I have to repeat this but you don’t see Peter Parker obsessively looking for the person who manufactured the gun instead of the criminal who actually killed Uncle Ben. Ridiculous that I have to repeat this example.
Oh and about Vision’s body (damn yall have a gift to turn everything into Tony’s fault for some reason). I can’t believe some of you think Tony (while grieving for 5 years) would give Vision to Hayward. You’re either pulling stuff out of your asses or you didn’t pay attention to the show. Maria Rambeau founded and was the Director of S.W.O.R.D. In 2018 (when IW happened), this is where she came up with a new policy within S.W.O.R.D. to ground snapped agents in case they ever returned. Maria was diagnosed with cancer, then two years later (2020), she passed away. Then, Hayward was promoted to Director of S.W.O.R.D., in his first years (2020-2022) he refocused the organization’s work from extraterrestrial operations to robotics, nanotechnology and artificial intelligence, etc. There, that was the 5 years. Then in 2023 it’s when he started project Cataract, which revolved around rebuilding Vision as a sentient weapon. Tony was dead when this happened. How come yall don’t get this part? I don’t understand, do you really think his dead corpse signed some papers to give Vision to those people? LMAO
Instead of thinking Tony would give up Vision just like that, think (possibilities):
Maria was the head of S.W.O.R.D., she might have just been keeping his body safe without doing anything with him. Maybe she trusted Hayward and he, obviously, betrayed her because he’s turning her organization into something else after her death.
One of the Sokovia Accords regulations states that the use of technology to bestow individuals (the term ‘enhanced individual’ in this book is defined as any person, human or otherwise, with superhuman capabilities) with innate capabilities is strictly regulated by the government, as is the use and distribution of highly advanced technology. Vision signed those accords ('I'm saying there may be a casualty. Our very strength invites challenge. Challenge incites conflict. And conflict... breeds catastrophe. Oversight...oversight is not an idea that can be dismissed out of hand’) The Avengers were no longer be a private organization and they operate under the supervision of the United Nations. This means they (UN) were the ones that referred Vision’s body to S.W.O.R.D., to a trustworthy leader, Maria.
Vision died in Wakanda, not in New York. Tony was missing for 22 days after the snap, the rest of the avengers should’ve taken responsibility for his body.
Why is it always Tony’s fault but never consider that other parties are also involved in this?
I want to address some other asks with this one. I know some of you are angry because people are starting to blame Tony all over again, so a few things to remember:
Tony did not create the Accords. The Accords were the result of all the collective actions the Avengers have done in their superhero careers. All of them have made mistakes and the collateral damage of that was taken into consideration by the government and 117 countries around the world. He signed the accords because he knew that he could amend them with the support of the rest of the avengers and he knew about Thanos (something big was coming).
Obadiah Stane (it’s so bizarre for me seeing that some people don’t know who this guy is, I’m guessing that the people who are watching Wandavision are too young to remember or didn’t watch the Iron Man movies at all which is highly probable) was the one selling weapons to the wrong people, not Tony. Obadiah was the CEO of Stark industries and became second-in-command for two decades. He grew jealous of Tony and began cooperating with the Ten Rings in Afghanistan, selling them Stark Industries weapons illegally. Imagine blaming all of it on Tony when Obadiah basically murdered thousands only because he felt a little green. If someone who you trust (he had no reasons to doubt Obadiah since he was like a second father-figure for him) does something behind your back (take into consideration that people like Pepper; who was Tony’s assistant and had knowledge of all of Tony’s activities and responsibilities, Rhodey; who was the liaison between the military in the department of acquisitions and Stark Industries, and Happy Hogan; who was his personal bodyguard and Head of Security of Stark Industries, didn’t know what Stane was doing either), how are you going to know about it? Tony trusted him. And when he realized what was going on he immediately stopped all of it. He worked hard to be better and people overlook that because they want other characters to look better.
Don’t act like Tony was the only one assisting the military. All of the avengers assisted in one way or another. Natasha (who used to be an assassin) was in the Red Room, trained in the Black Widow Program in association with Leviathan and the Soviet Armed Forces, served for KGB, etc. Bruce Banner used to work for the United States government and was commissioned to create a super serum for them. Same goes with the rest, Sam, Clint, etc. Steve Rogers was a soldier lmaoooooooooooooo like, what happened to Tony with Obadiah happened to Steve with SHIELD/HYDRA in TWS. He trusted the people working in there (SHIELD), served for them, did missions for them and as soon as he found out what they were doing behind his back he turned against them.
Knowing all of this, how is Tony always the villain for yall? I’m guessing because Tony’s popularity in the MCU, but still, aren’t yall tired of not understanding the plot and having people repeat it to you constantly? Watch the movies if you want to understand the franchise, people. Stop following the crowd.
Also, Wanda is not a kid, she’s a 35 year old woman in Wandavision, she was 26 in AOU and 27 in CW. Hardly a child. Tony had almost her same age (38) when he realized Obadiah was selling illegal weaponry behind his back. The only reason people don’t fully forgive Tony is because 1. he’s a man and 2. he’s a billionaire. Even if Wanda was poor she still killed and hurt many people over the course of her life. Stop trying to make Tony the villain only to downplay Wanda’s actions.
Both have killed people, both have made mistakes. They’re both responsible for them.
