My NOTP for them - Zuko/Ty Lee. I don't hate it. I just don't really care for it.

My BROTP for them - Zuko/Toph or Zuko/Aang. They have such sibling energy and I'm sad that Zuko and Toph didn't get a lot of screen time together.

My OTP for them - Sokka/Zuko. I just love them together.

My second choice pairing for them - Katara/Zuko. Zutara is really cute and has so many possibilities throughout the series.

My fluffy pairing for them - Mai/Zuko. The Beach showed me how cute they are together. Plus it’s canon so there are a lot of potential fluffy moments for them.

My angsty pairing for them - Jet/Zuko. There is so much potential for angst. Them begin together then breaking up when Jet realizes Zuko is a firebender. Zuko never knowing Jet died and always planning on going to find him after the war.

My favorite poly ship for them - Sokka/Suki/Zuko. I love this poly ship so much. The one thing that makes Zukka better? Add Suki.

My weirdest pairing for them - I don’t think it’s weird but Yue/Zuko is my most unusual ship cause I have no reason to ship them but I find it cute.

Doesn’t everyone? 😂 to name a few:

—Sam, Aisha, Demetri, and Eli were all childhood friends (the “Nerd Quartet”)

—Barry loves comics because of his mom, and that’s part of his motivation to be a superhero (comics canon! Headcanon in DCTV/Arrowverse)

—Ned’s the first one to figure Peter out, when they do their special handshake

—When they were supposed to be asleep, Iris used to sneak into Barry’s room, and they turned his bed into a mini pillow-fort 😂

—Barry’s Flashpoint adventure ~did~ change Caitlin’s past and give her powers—I’ll die on this hill, it’s the only way things make some amount of sense (and it’s no more ridiculous than the OTHER Flashpoint changes)

—Thawne was actually lying in s4 when he said he “hated every minute of [being Harrison Wells]”. Because literally wtf was THAT, writers??

—Maiko had two weddings: one for their close friends, and one for the Fire Nation. They were the first of the Gaang to get married…though they didn’t have Izumi until after Kataang got married. They wanted most of the “so, when are you having kids?” bs to die down first

—Lando introduced Luke (and Lucy) to hot chocolate, and Luke and Lucy love it 💞 (Legends canon I believe…tho ofc not Lucy since she’s not canon. In proper canon tho, this is just a headcanon)

—Barry makes the best hot chocolate ever

—Iris can bake better than she cooks…tho she gets easily distracted, hence the burnt/lumpy pancakes sometimes 😅 still, I gotta believe someone brownie-obsessed can make good brownies

—Finn is a legend among his former stormtroopers…as an enemy to some, as an inspiration to others

Happy FFWF! I see what you're doing....👀

There are actually two non-romantic relationships that I really want to explore.

Katara and Yue: They're both Water Tribe and the daughter of a chieftain, but their stories couldn't be more different. In fact, they almost feel like foils for each other. Yue is bound by duty and her destiny was determined on the day she was born, and there's nothing she can do to change that. Katara's destiny is more unformed and isn't set in stone, although it clearly involves Aang in some way, and she has agency where Yue did not. Yue was not free to love Sokka, whereas Katara was free to love Aang. Also, Yue became the moon, and Katara, a waterbender, draws strength from the moon! There's so much potential to explore in their relationship, especially with Yue as the moon spirit...and I plan on doing this soon 👀

Zuko and Aang: Zukaang friendship my beloved, my brotp ❤️ I almost low key ship Zukaang but not quite. My personal preference is Zukaang as friends...I almost said "just" friends but I feel like they're more than that, but not in a romantic way, because in some ways friendships are more intimate and interconnected than romantic relationships. There are parts of ourselves that we can show to friends, or ways in which friends know us, that romantic partners cannot. That said, I absolutely eat up Zukaang friendship fics, but I haven't written any of my own. I have no idea why....maybe I haven't had the right inspiration yet. But I would like to, one day....one day.

Sexuality Headcanon: i know this is a mad unpopular opinion on this site, but straight. i totally get why people hc zuko as gay/bi/ace, especially when his arc with his dad is so sadly reminiscent of the relationship many queer kids have with their parents, but he just radiates straight "i love my bi wife" energy to me.

Gender Headcanon: cis

A ship I have with said character: gee, i wonder if anyone can possibly tell who i ship zuko with (zutara trash till the day i die)

A BROTP I have with said character: zuko and sokka! i love their friendship, and i can totally see sokka calling them the sword bros or something equally cringey. i also like them as a ship in fanon, but following canon alone i think these two would have the most epic bromance ever.

A NOTP I have with said character: mai/ko. kill it with fire. i will despise this ship even in my grave.

A random headcanon: zuko is ambidextrous. look at all that dual sword wielding!

General Opinion over said character: zuko is the definition of "people hating on a popular character solely to be contrary/because they're bitter their fave isn't as popular". the complete lack of empathy people seem to have toward zuko in favour of propping up other characters (looking at you, hardcore aang/azula stans) is just astounding. his character arc is so beloved and lauded for a reason. you aren't "seeing the truth" where the oh so unintelligent masses got taken in; you're purposefully and completely misreading canon to support your own batshit stupid interpretation. please develop some critical thinking skills.

iroh

Sexuality Headcanon: unlabeled. i see iroh being a firm proponent of the whole "love is love" idea and just doing whatever he wants with whoever he wants. or maybe he's just into tea, who knows.

Gender Headcanon: cis

A ship I have with said character: iroh x tea i don't really ship iroh with anyone but if i had to choose, aunt wu or piandao could be interesting.

A BROTP I have with said character: iroh and toph. they would 100% be those friends that play pai sho and gossip the whole afternoon over tea.

A NOTP I have with said character: i'm not invested enough in iroh's love life for this.

A random headcanon: iroh is the one who first notices zuko's natural athletic skill and arranges for piandao to teach zuko.

General Opinion over said character: i wasn't aware that the hague or geneva conventions existed in the atla universe, but apparently i was wrong since everyone and their mother enjoys calling iroh a war criminal. just say you dislike this character for being popular instead of pretending that you genuinely want to apply modern standards of warfare to this fantasy children's show regarding a character who repented and then did whatever he could to take down the regime he regretted supporting.

-How I feel about this character: I like him!

-All the people I ship romantically with this character: Azula, Katara, Zuko, Toph

-My BROTP for this character: Sokka & Zuko on occasion too lol

-My unpopular opinion about this character: I'm pretty sure this isn't exactly unpopular, but I think he's definitely overhated; I generally see more discourse and criticism about Aang than I see for Iroh, and that's saying something about this fandom.

-One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon:

This is a complaint more about the writing of the series itself than Aang as a character, but I wish Bryke would've come up with something better than the lionturtle, just to introduce an ass-pull Option C at the last moment instead of using techniques and elements previously established in the show. I've read one fic where Aang used Katara's bloodbending and Ty Lee's chi-blocking to obstruct Ozai's bending permanently and I think that was a solid solution.

As for the comics (they always deserve a mention in the complaints category <3), it makes exactly ZERO sense for Aang (the no-compromise PACIFIST, as Bryke and Yang seemingly forgot) to agree to kill Zuko as a failsafe as quickly as he did. Aang went out of his way to spare Ozai's life, so him not even arguing against Zuko's wish (who was in a bad mental state in general at that time) is nothing less than simply shitty writing. I'm certain there's more grief with his character in the comics, but I haven't bothered to read them all after suffering through the trilogy of garbage that was The Promise, The Search & Smoke and Shadow.

Katara is in love with Aang and is heartbroken, but will do her duty for her people. Sokka finds a loophole that they can carefully and craftily exploit.

Aka they lie. They lie so hard and Sokka becomes the one betrothed to Fire Lord Zuko. He is sure there will be no consequences to the plan. Certainly not going to fall in love with the man he is lying to. At all. Nope indeedy, no love on the menu. Dang it.

Set in a Thedas where when you meet your soulmate you see in colour. The only problem is that the Chantry has never mentioned to people that when the templars take lyrium it dampens that connection and they never realize they have met their soulmate.

As Cullen slowly deals with withdrawal and the lyrium leaving his system, he notices colours bleeding in. Somewhere he had met his soulmate and didn't know. He can only hope to find them. Thank the maker for the friendship he has grown with Dorian, the sad man always near and helpful. He just wonders why Dorian always seems to be sad around Cullen.
