If someone has hurt you a lot, either accidentally or intentionally, And then he realise his mistake and apologizes.

So should you forgive him or should you ignore his apology and hurt him because he has also hurt you?

so definitely don't hurt him back because he hurt you. cause that's just a very toxic way of going about it and like you are gonna end up feeling guilty as fuck which is never fun in any situation. as far as forgetting and/or forgiving goes it really depends on you and what his mistake actually was. i have seen people who can forget but who never forgive and i have seen people who can forgive but never forget. so, it really does depend on you as a person and your boundaries. some mistakes are forgivable of course. but some mistakes just cross a personal boundary and do lead to the end of a relationship/friendship. so my advice would be that you take a moment and think about whether his mistake is something that you can come back from. if it isn't, then let him go for good. if it is, then you can start the forgive and/or forget debate.

#what a daaaaay #it was SHIT #one of our colleague wasn't here today during the previous shift so there was only one person #and she left us a lot of work #then we had even more samples #then i made one tiny mistake that meant i hate to throw a whole batch of samples away #and start over #then one of the device malfunctionned and i lost one sample #we had soooo many things to do and our boss calles us to tell us some of it was urgent urgent #then there was an emergency on something and i had to do it but it's not supposed to be my job #bc the person that should be doing this is on a loooong sick leave #they didn't give me all the information so i had to hunt it down #then i did the thing #i was supposed to tell the result to the chief of the plant (???? idk what's the name) #but couldn't fine him #and production on that part was fully stopped and time was ticking and 💸💸💸 #aaaaah i hate when people are like this #ok then he asked me if the result was good or not #BUT #as i said im not the person supposed to do these #so i legally can't say if it's ok or not #not to dox myself or anything but it's improtant safety pieces of something and we can't just fuck around with it #i made him check himself bc i don't have time for this lol #anywaaaay WHAT A DAY #almost had a full breakdown in my car lol #alex and liam what a day dot mp4

i’m writing this from the perspective of someone who grew up in a cesspool of awful, cult-like rural churches—which is its own situation—but i see similar shit happening in online communities all the time, both within and 800 miles outside of my own ideological principles. yes, every toxicass radfem i block seems to be trapped in a version of this vicious cycle, but i also see it happening in random queer circles and niche fandom communities. no one is immune, not even me. i’ve watched people fall into this shit and never make it out. be careful

”getting thicker skin” is great in theory but I think for some people “get better at handling your thin skin” is gonna be way more helpful advice. I have strong emotional reactions to criticism and they might never go away, but i can continue to try and handle each situation maturely and that’s the important part. Sometimes irrational feelings are chronic and living with them is better than trying to beat yourself up into not having them.
