WASTELAND, BABY!– ellie williams x reader
hi! I'm writing a new series that happens after the events of TLOU II. it's an enemies to lovers. A story about ellie eventually finding happiness and love again. She finds her light; and so do you.
Before you read the summary– please read this. Free Palestine. Do not consume tlou fanfics without educating yourself about its zionist themes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
*SUMMARY: You had decided to give life one last try. That was it. After the events in The Last of Us Part II, Ellie decides that the only way to find peace is to turn herself in to the fireflies. She finds a lead; they tell her to find you, a young woman who wanders around with no purpose. When she eventually does, you refuse to tell her where the fireflies are; if she finds them, everything that you did in your past would've been for nothing.
You embark on a journey together, walking through rain, snow and through the darkest places this cruel world has to offer. What neither of you expect, broken and traumatized, is to find the light again in each other.
LINKS: read it here. playlist.
C.W/GENERAL TAGS: enemies to lovers, AFAB reader, eventual smut, gun violence, ellie kinda kidnaps you?, suicidal ideation (both ellie and reader), r! is wounded, PTSD and trauma, triggering flashbacks. canon violence in the game, depression. Overall heavy themes, but happy ending i promise!
"For the world is Hell, and people are on the one hand the tormented souls and on other the devils in it." (Schopenhauer, On the suffering of the world)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
CHAPTER 1: One last try. You encounter Ellie. She follows the trail of blood you were leaving. You refuse to give her the information she wants. So, she drags you through the entire state of Montana. "You’re bold for someone unarmed and bruised, with a gun pointed to their head"
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
CHAPTER 2: Courage, dear heart. A small flame inside you ignites. you finally have a purpose; to mislead her, and to escape from her. You come up with a plan, and that involves earning her trust. just enough until she becomes sloppy. But you can't let her see your skills; she might see you as a threat. That plan quickly goes to waste when you encounter a large group of clickers.
“I could kill you right now,” she said, holding your own knife against your throat. Her knuckles were white from how much force she was using. Her features were almost unrecognizable.  “Then you’d break your promise,” you said. “Promises mean nothing in this world.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
CHAPTER 3: No one left to sing to
The rain doesn't stop, so you and this strange girl are forced to stay inside the cave. You're feverish, disoriented. After a conversation in which she mentions the fireflies, you decide to go through her journal to find answers. And you do.
"Are you a firefly?" she asked, like she had just read your mind, or you were thinking out loud. “not a firefly,” you said. you held back a laugh, but she saw the flash of a smirk. You, the reason why they were gone after Salt Lake City, a firefly. “Definitely not.” you paused.  “are you?” you asked.“No.” She analyzed your features, trying to read you.“Do you want to become one?”Her gaze drifted towards the wall behind you, and not your eyes anymore. Somewhere in you, you knew that for some reason it was a sensitive topic for her. “it’s not that– I owe them something. I have for a long time”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
CHAPTER 4– Your blinding light Summer 2033, Boston QZ You waited for Hannah to come to you. Life in the QZ was simple for you; being confined in between four walls, listening to your mom's Beatles cassettes, and sneaking out past curfew. That is, until your mom slowly starts abandoning you. "Maybe Hannah was the only one you had, after all"
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
CHAPTER 5– This darkness i'm condemned to
Ellie and you finally reach the nearest town. And your plan is successful; you finally lead her to danger. What you failed to account for is that this danger can harm you, too.
“took them out right?" you said, trying to test the waters. Trying to sound lighthearted, but failing completely at it.  "Damn right you did," she said.

dunno where this came from bc i honestly just wanted a short ramble and not smthn long but here we are :'D this is an extension from my rambling yesterday about simon x reader but it's a dowry of blood au (brides of dracula retelling). i havent finished the book yet tbh but if ur planning on reading it, i do just wanna give a warning that it's dark and prose-heavy
cw: death/massacre; blood drinking; vampire-turning and stuff; inaccurate references to dracula lore
Tumblr media
the village is gone. burnt. fire crackles amidst the broken hymns of the dead—they don't sing, not anymore of course, but their losses are catastrophic. you never realized how the apocalypse could be so loud.
you stand at the centre of the chaos, bloodied. bruised. ruined. the lone survivor.
the only one who was lucky enough to be saved.
brought out from the pyre, you were dragged into the shadowed corners and hidden from the pillagers who slaughtered everyone you loved and everyone you knew. you shook in your grief, screams erupting from the base of your throat, but all were silenced by an ice-cold palm over your mouth.
"shh, little one," he said. the first of his words; the first of his kindness. "you must be quiet."
your fury sputtered into anguish, the loss descending to you like the first drop of snow. tears spring from your strained eyes, staining even his hand; you did not know how to compress the bloating agony that was pressing into your lungs. your only comfort was that he seemed to favour you enough to keep you safe, even if just for a moment.
rain had fallen by then—it seemed like it knew that tragedy had struck this little place. it extinguished enough of the fire, washing away the smell of ashes and leaving only the pungence of iron. blood.
with it, your adrenaline wore off, and you began to feel the extent of your pain. of course, you were not unscathed, but you didn’t expect your body to be so brittle.
you fell, tumbling into the muddy ground and right before his feet. you croaked in pain, lungs constricting. it was becoming a lot more difficult to breathe, to speak. you wondered why death came to you slowly.
he knelt down by your side, cold hand brushing away at your dirty hair. he was speaking to you softly, words passing through his lips in soft lilts. you struggled to hear him, your ears ringing, numb, as your mind pulsed in your skull.
you groaned, begging him to stop. to go away. you had nothing to pay him back with, nothing to entertain him, so you told him just as much. you told him to let you die in silence because how else could he save you?
“that is troubling,” was all he said, his words were rumbled from the depths of his chest like he hadn't used his voice in eons.
you peeled your eyes open, wondering what it must be that he was after, then you finally saw what he was—pale skin gleaming underneath the moonlight with eyes dark like wine. he was not a human. he couldn’t have been one.
your mother told you tales of the wicked. of those cursed and abandoned by the almighty father—she told you of their beauty, of their wealth, of their hunger.
(they do not know how to love, she said as she tucked you underneath your sheets. they only know how to deceive.)
your body locked, heart congested with fear—your body knew then, didn’t it? that this being that held you close was far more terrifying than the invaders. that your body survived the fire, the greed of humanity, only to be devoured by the devil.
“please,” you whimpered, the will to live burning inside you once again. you didn’t care about the pillagers, you didn’t want their mercy, but this being. this creature of the dark, oh how you craved his clemency.
“please, save me.”
“i cannot save you,” he said.
his hand fell to your throat, grasping it gently, almost reverently. he swiped his thumb along the expanse of your skin to feel the way you swallowed.
“but i can help.”
you tried to reply, to beg once more, but the words could not be sounded out, your throat having been too ruined for any prayer. you shook with your desperation, turning your eyes to him to express your ragged hope. you prayed that he may see your plea. you prayed that he may bless you with his curse.
he smiled, fangs glinting before your eyes. then, he murmured, “of course.”
(mama? how do you know when your prayers are answered?
well, sometimes it starts off painful.
painful?
yes, little star. but then, it becomes euphoric. freeing. good suffering.)
his teeth tore into your skin, ripping apart the muscles as it hunted for the blood. you screamed, throat scratching at the intensity of your pain; it was unbearable, burning unlike that of fire, scalding as it slithered down your very being. something was happening then. something unholy.
you were being remade. reshaped. taken apart one bloodied fragment at a time.
you felt like you were at the precipice of death, so close to the edge and into eternal damnation, but he would not let you. chained to his hunger, your body writhed underneath the extent of his power; burning. burning. burning.
he was your new pyre.
he was hell.
you begged for anything to subdue the pain; for a touch kinder, warmer; for the ceasing of it all.
and it did.
his lips left the sensitive patch of your neck, pulling away with a hummed smile as though it were ambrosia he was sucking out of you. you stared at his lips, stained with your blood, and, within a fraction of a heartbeat, unrelenting hunger coursed through you.
you yowled, your mind heavy and your body sore. you felt lost; you felt like you were drained and left as nothing but a shell of what you once were.
“good. that’s good,” he crooned, his eyes wrinkled in his joy. “this hunger is proof of your new life.”
he brought his wrist to his lips and bit into his own skin. the first puncture oozed out with blood; you watched it pool, beading, before it trickled down the length of his arm. your throat constricted, tongue heavy all of a sudden in your mouth.
a taste. you craved for a taste.
he smiled as he pressed his wrist to your lips. “go on,” he murmured. “drink.”
you were delirious, or you must be, for you to have listened to him—your weak hands grasped at his wounded arm, pulling it closer to your maw.
you drank.
that experience of having the first drop on your tongue was indescribable. it was like you have never eaten before; like you have never been fed. never been nourished.
it was like anything that sustained you before had been erased from your memories; you don’t remember the taste of your mother’s cooking anymore, nor the sweets that your grandmother brought home with her for you on occasions when her mistress remembered to reward her, nor the milk from your father’s cows.
every sweet memory was washed away by the blood pouring down your throat; every gulp a sinister promise of what would be irreversible.
your body sang, skin mending itself, and bones healing underneath torn muscles. numbness filtered in—it had never felt like salvation before.
lost in your new paradise, you didn't notice as your saviour cupped your cheek once more. his touch was gentle. it was kind.
he leant forward and kissed your forehead—a reward for surviving.
“my name’s simon,” he whispered, nuzzling you. “and you will be my bride, won’t you, my dark miracle?”
your mouth left his arm, reluctant but necessary, because even before he said his name, you knew he was your master. you knew that in exchange for this new life he’s cursed you with, you were to be obedient to him no matter what.
you nodded, breathless and ragged.
“yes, my lord.”

Warm Me Through
Tumblr media
Captain Rex x reader
Summary: If this cold and miserable planet has taught Rex anything, it's that he's most definitely more warm blooded. The fact that you seem to have taken a liking to his new armour makes the cold slightly easier to endure though.
Word Count: 1k
C/W: absolutely none
A/N: Guess who's back from the fucking dead lmao. This one's short and sweet, just some good old tooth rotting fluff with our favourite boi🩵
my masterlist
Kamino wasn't always sunshine and rainbows - actually it never was. But Rex would still take the constant wind and rain of Tipoca City over this bitting cold any day.
White snow spread as far as the eye could see, all the trees and bushes coverd in thick sprinkling layers of it. The cold wind licking up the sides of his armour, somehow managing to seep through all his thermal layers and freezing him from the inside out.
Yes, this planet was officially his least favourite so far.
Annoyingly, you didn't seem to be suffering half as much. Despite the numbing cold you’d been in an unusually good mood today, all smiles and giggles.
And Rex couldnt for the life of him figure out what there was to be so happy about. In fact is was starting to get on his nerves. Every time you talked, looked, or so much as mearly glanced over at him, you broke your usual ‘jedi general’ front and started giggling and grinning like a cadet.
The first couple of times he’d brushed it off, thinking it must've just been a coincidence. But after you do it one time too many, he’s starting to get suspicious.
He trudges through the snow up to you, datapad in hand and ready to brief you on the status of the recon team that had just touched base . As soon as he calls yor name, you turn to look at him, cheeky smile instantly spreading on your face.
Of course.
He tries to ignore it, finially coming to a stop in front of you and clearing his throat ready to debrief you when he glances up at you, cutting himself off and doing a doble take when you notices your pathetic attempt at concielling a smile.
He glances around quickly to make sure nobody is within earshot before he's leaning closer to you and whispering exasperatedly
“Why do you keep kriffing looking at me like that??”
You try to further straigthen the smile on your face, failing miserably when you eyes betray your amusment
“What do you mean? Looking at you like what?”
“Oh you know exacty how. Every time you look my way you keep smiling and giggling like an idiot”
The same smile breaks onto your face again, hand coming up to hide it as you speak through giggles “What? No I don't"
“You're doing it right now!! What is it? Do I have something on my helmet?” he lifts his hand to check his helmet self conciously and you shake your head through the giggles, grabbing his gloved hand in your own and tugging it down gently.
“No it’s not that, you’re fine Rex. Handsome as ever.”
He feels heat rissing to his cheeks at your words, but quickly tries to squash it down. You’re not getting away that easy, he’s going to find out what’s going on with you today if it’s the last thing he does.
“Okay fine, then what is it? What’s so funny?”
“It's just- Well ” - you lean closer, whipering through your smile- “ you look really cute in this armour”
His back straigthers in surprise. That’s… definitely not what he was expecting.
“…Cute?”
You chuckle, nodding “Yeah, really really fucking cute”
“Cute," he huffs, shaking his head in disbelief, "Only you would think a soldier of the Grand Army of the Republic is ‘cute’ "
You grin, taking a step closer and blinking up at his visor teasingly “Yknow, it’s only because I know just how much of a softie is hidden under there” you tease, poking at his chest plate.
His scoff crackles through the modulator.
“I am not soft” he grumbles and you laugh. You can imagine exactly how he’s rolling his eyes under that helmet, a hint of a smile gracing his face
“Sure… You keep telling yourself that Captain”
He take a minute to glance around again quickly, double checking that nobody is watching the two of you before he’s turning back, lifting his helmet off with a soft hiss.
Sure enough, just as you predicted he’s got that gorgeous smile you’ve come to love so much, all love and softness as he looks down at you. You gasp dramatically, putting a hand to your chest in faux shock.
“Stars! He’s even cuter underneath the helmet!”
He rolls his eyes at you, but the grin splitting his face betrays how much he secretly appreciated the comment. Before you can point it out to him, you feel a hand slip around your waist, tugging hard until you fall forward into is chest. A small shower of snow falls of your gloves as your hands shoot forward to catch yourself on his chest plate.
“Y’know I can think of something much cuter right now” he purrs, warm breath fogging up againt you face.
And suddenly just like that, with you in his arms, the air doesn't feel quite so cold, the chill of the snow not quite as unbareable.
His eyes flick down to your lips, watching as you bite the tip of one of your gloves fingers. You slide it off, bringing your now bare hand up to tenderly cup his jaw.
He grumbles slightly about how cold your hand is, but doesn't try to pull away. Instead he's smiling that same gentle smile as he tils his head just so to press a light kiss to the palm of your hand, his lips feeling as warm and soft as rays of sun on a cold winter morning.
Your heart melts at the small display of affection, smile widening impossibly further.
“What was that earlier about not being a softie?” you tease and he rolls his eyes fondly.
“Shut up”
“Oh? How about you make me Captain”
He raises a brow at you, challenging as he leans closer, enough that his lips brush yours as he whisperes his next words
“Oh don’t tempt me meshla”

Eddie is up on the roof when Steve pulls into the driveway. His first thought is that the rain pipe must be leaking again, but then he sees the giant letters his boyfriend is wrestling into submission on the snow-covered roof and sighs.
"Eds?" he calls out as he gets from the car. Eddie yelps and almost slips and Steve has a brief mental image of spending Christmas Eve at the emergency room. "I thought we agreed to not put them up this year?"
He wasn't even sure which of the many unopened boxes they were in - just knew that Eddie had not-so-sneakily grabbed all of the old Christmas decorations from the house in Loch Nora on the day Steve moved out. Not that Steve minded. His parents haven't been home for the holidays in forever, it's not like they'll miss the stuff.
"Okay, I know, but listen!" Eddie flashes him a toothy grin as he skids down the roof and to the ladder that's leaning against the wall. Steve watches him, hip popped against the side of the car, as he comes wading towards him in the fresh layer of snow. "I know we said we'd skip it this year, what with still getting settled and stuff, but I was unpacking some of the boxes earlier, and I found the letters, and I just had to put them up. It's our little tradition, Stevie. Would be bad luck not to observe it in our first year in the new place."
He has drifted into Steve’s space and put his hands in his coat pockets to pull him closer, all disarming, dimpled smile and large brown eyes. Steve hums in mock-annoyance as Eddie leans in to steal a kiss.
"So does it actually say what it's supposed to this year?"
Eddie cocks his head at him.
"I have no idea what you-"
"Eds?" Steve quirks an eyebrow and Eddie falls silent.
Because, yes, the letters have become a bit of a tradition ever since their first Christmas together, and Steve would be lying if he said they don’t make him feel all warm and fuzzy.
Another tradition is that they never actually spell the right thing.
And while the MERRY SMAX sparkling from the roof of the Harrington house for all the neighborhood to see in the first year was still an accident, Eddie has since embarked on a mission to outdo himself with increasingly absurd creations.
Steve still fondly remembers SEXY MARRM, ARSEY MR XM, and - last year's zinger - SMARMY REX.
And judging by the entirely too innocent grin gracing Eddie’s face now, he's in for another treat.
"Eddie?" he tries again, one hand coming up to pinch the bridge of his nose. "What is it this year?"
"Dunno what you mean, baby," Eddie singsongs, and prances over to the switch for the outdoor power supply like a particularly merry Christmas elf. Steve can't quite conceal his fond grin as he is tugged along. "It says exactly what it's supposed to say. How about you do the honors?"
Steve rolls his eyes but obediently pushes the switch. The letters flicker to life, casting the snowy front yard in a haze of sparkling white. Steve can't see the roof from where they're standing, so he takes a few steps down the driveway. Eddie hovers by his shoulder, suddenly tense and silent, and oh God, what has he done now?
"Eddie," he starts, "I swear, if I have to explain to the neighbors why our roof says stuff about axes, I'll-"
And then he stops.
Steve feels how his mouth drops open and how his eyes bulge, and he's faintly aware that he must look like a complete idiot, but he's powerless to do anything about it.
Because he has just turned and now he sees what the words say.
Because Eddie has actually left out some of the letters this time and he has no idea what he was expecting, but it certainly wasn't this.
Because every single bit of mental capacity is focused on playing the words sparkling down at him on repeat in his head.
MARRY ME
"See?" Eddie has stepped up beside him and taken his limp hand to entangle their fingers, but his voice is hesitant all of a sudden. When Steve manages to turn his head, those dark, pretty eyes are refusing to meet his, pointedly trained on the roof instead. "Exactly what it's meant to say."
Steve gapes at him. Eddie cringes and pulls a strand of hair in front of his face with his free hand. The other is trembling around Steve's fingers.
"So, I know we can't really," he mumbles. "Like, legally or shit. But … you've literally pulled me from hell and I know it sounds totally cheesy, but it feels like you skipped boring old Earth and dragged me straight on into heaven and I totally would, if I could. Marry you, I mean. So if it's cool with you, I'll get you a ring or something, promise to stick with you forever, all that lame-ass stuff."
Steve stares. Swallows, tries to speak, but no words come out. Eddie sighs.
"And if it isn't, that's also fine. I just … wanted to put it out there, y'know. Like, literally. I'm sorry, I'll… I'll just take these down."
And Steve still can't talk, isn't sure when he'll be able to again. But he also doesn’t need to. Because what he can do is tighten his grip on Eddie’s hand as it threatens to slip from his.
What he can do is pull him back in, body against body and sling an arm around his waist to keep him from getting away.
What he can do is crash their mouths together in a kiss so searing he's surprised the snow doesn't melt all around them.
What he can do is hope that this will be enough of an answer.
From the way Eddie grins against his lips, it is.

The One With The Test
Tumblr media
I just want to say rip to a one of a kind actor, Matthew Perry. I still can't believe it :( May he finally rest in peace.
Summary: I watched Fools Rush In Today and this sparked the idea for this fic. I hope you enjoy!
It was New Year's Eve in New York City. People were out partying and hanging out with their family and friends. Snow was slowly falling down in the cold crisp air. This was yet another New Years eve party without a date. You weren't particularly upset as you grown used to this. You were currently standing outside on the balcony watching the snowflakes fall all around. "somebody kiss me at midnight!" You heard Chandler go around asking each one of your friends in the apartment. You let out a small laugh. Oh sweet Chandler. You haven't told no one but you were starting to develop feelings for your best friend. You were just afraid to say anything in fear it might ruin the relationship the two of you have. You bit your lip, an idea popping into your mind. You had a lot to drink tonight so you had more courage than usual. You were going to catch Chandler off guard and kiss him at midnight.
---
Everyone was gathered around the tv counting down from ten. 10 9 Rachel was with Ross. Phoebe with Mike. 8 7 Monica with Richard Joey with one of his flings. 6 5 You took a deep breath as you walked up to Chandler. 4 3 You grabbed a fist full of Chandler's shirt. 2 1 Cheers erupted, people clapped at the start of the New Year as you pulled Chandler close and pressed your lips to his. Chandler tensed for a moment before you felt his lips kissing you back. His hand fell to your waist. "You wanted someone to kiss you at midnight." You whispered breathlessly as you pulled apart from him. You were flustered as Chandler pushed a piece of your hair behind your ear. "You have no idea how long I wanted this." Chandler finally spoke, giving you one of his charming smiles.
---
After the party, you ended up at Chandler and Joey's. Both you and Chandler were a little more than tipsy. After a hot, passionate round of the best sex you ever had, you were cuddled up to Chandler's side. "Wow." was the only words to escape your and Chandler's mouth.
---
Three Months Later Since that night on New Year's, you and Chandler decided to make it official. Everything was wonderful and you were so happy until three months later you were sitting on the bathroom tiled floor holding a positive pregnancy test. You've never been this scared in your life. You knew this would freak Chandler out and run him off. This would most likely be the end of the relationship and you might be a single mom. Before you could think about the future, there was a knock on the bathroom. "Y|N, you okay?" It was Chandler. With a shaky breath, you stood up with the positive pregnancy test. With trembling hands, you opened the door revealing Chandler. Concern was written on his face as you were in the bathroom for quite a while. His eyes flickered down to the test in your hands. His eyes widen and he jumped back. "Y|N. Please don't tell me that-" He stopped speaking. A tear slipped down your face as you nodded. You couldn't look at him. "I used a condom. Lot's of them." "Well, one didn't work." "But that's its job! It's whole purpose in life is... to work!!" Chandler was freaking out at this point. He ran his hand through his hair, pacing back and worth. He went into the kitchen got a glass of water and chugged it down. You started playing with the test in your hands out of nervousness. "I'm keeping the baby" You stammered. Chandler's eyes flew up to yours. "What?" He questioned. He was not ready to be a father. You knew he was expecting the other options that you were going to do. Keeping the baby was not one of them. He looked upset and this was where the relationship would end. You dropped the test on the counter, tears falling down your face. "Goodbye Chandler." You whispered before running out of the apartment.
-----
Rain droplets fell into the night in New York City. You were currently at Monica's, sitting on the couch with a leg pulled up to your chest. Monica, Rachel and Phoebe were all sitting around trying to comfort you. It's been a little over twenty four hours since you and Chandler had the falling out regarding the baby. "I'm sure it's a simple misunderstanding. You guys are having a baby! Chandler would never leave you alone to deal with this. He's probably just scared." Monica said, rubbing your back. "You should've seen the look on his face. It was full of fear, concern and he was just upset. He didn't have words." You cried, wiping your eyes with a tissue. Before anyone could say anything, the door opened and Chandler walked in. You looked down at your hands in your lap. He had one hand in his pocket and the other scratching the back of his neck. Monica, Phoebe and Rachel got the queue and grabbed their things and left. "Hey." Chandler spoke softly, walking over. "Hi." You sniffled. Chandler came around and sat on the coffee table right in front of you. "I'm sorry Y|N. I panicked and didn't have the words to comfort you and to be there when you needed me. This is big news." Chandler spoke up. "If you don't want to be in the baby's life, that's fine. I can do this on my own." At this point you still couldn't look at Chandler. You felt sick to your stomach, whether that was morning sickness or your nerves you weren't sure. "Just wait a minute. Look at me, Y|N." Chandler spoke, taking your hands in his. You finally looked up into his eyes. He was staring with so much adoration in his eyes at you. "This afternoon, I couldn't decide between a Texas burger and a tuna melt, but my life made sense, you know? And now I know exactly want I want, and my life doesn't make any sense. And I was doing fine this afternoon. I was doing great. That was me. It was me then. And now I'm with you and I don't know what happened between the tuna melt and the Texas burger but I WANT this with you Y|N. I never thought about my future before until we happened. I want this with our baby." By the time Chandler finished his speech, you had tears rolling down your face. Chandler slid over to the couch right next to you and pulled you close. You buried your face into his chest as he rubbed your back, kissing the top of your head. "Everything is going to be okay, Y|N. I love you so much and I already love this baby."

Your breath fogs up the window as you look outside one last time, sighing heavily as you watch puffy snowflakes rain down from the sky, scattering through the pale yellow shafts of light from the street lamps. You peer up and down the quiet street, frowning at the sight of all the twinkling lights and festive candles that decorated so many of the townhouses, feeling decidedly un-cheery this year.
Deciding that it wasn’t worth it to torture yourself further, you pad up the stairs to your bedroom, trying to ignore the soft glow from the Christmas tree in the front room. Your footsteps sound much louder than normal in the quiet house since your parents were out for the evening, attending some holiday party at a friend's house, one that you were in much too foul of a mood to even consider attending.
You’ve hardly had the chance to change your clothes before the phone in your room starts ringing loudly, making you jump. Sitting on your bed, you roll your eyes as you reach for it, expecting it to be your parents or some friend, calling half drunk from a party no doubt.
“Hello?” You sigh, pressing the phone to your ear as you stare disdainfully out the window, watching more and more of the traitorous snow fall from the dark sky.
“Well, try not to sound too excited.” A familiar voice chuckles, instantly making you perk up.
“Tom?!” Your eyes widen as you press the phone harder against your ear, “Where are you? Are you okay? I thought you said you’d be home this afternoon!”
You can hear him laugh on the other end of the line at your rushed questions. “Relax, love, I’m fine,” he sighs, you can hear springs squeak softly in the background, like he’d sat down on a bed, “The train’s just got delayed, ice on the rails or some fucking nonsense, and with the damn snowstorm, well…” He sighs heavily.
“Delayed for how long?” You ask, crestfallen.
“Dunno, the man at the station said maybe a day, maybe two,” you can practically hear his frustrated sneer, “What with it being Christmas eve, everything’s just a damn wreck, apparently.”
“Oh…” You try not to sound too heartbroken, not wanting him to feel worse, “Well, did you find somewhere to stay in the meantime? I hate the idea of you sitting at the station.”
“Yeah,” he scoffs, “Some shoddy little inn. The train had to stop at some farming town in the middle of God knows where, but a bed’s a bed, I suppose.” You can hear two thuds in the background, no doubt him tossing his boots off somewhere carelessly.
“I’m glad you’re somewhere safe, Tommy,” you smile sadly, idly fidgeting with the bottom of your night shirt, well, really his nightshirt, “I wish you were with me, though.” You whisper, trying to ignore the sad little squeeze your heart gave.
“Wish I was too, love.”
The two of you sit in a comfortable silence for a moment, happy to simply listen to each other breathe after so many months apart. You really are trying not to let it get to you too much, but he only got so many days of leave from the RN and once he got shipped back out… you dare not think about it too deeply.
There’s some rustling on the other end of the line and you furrow your brows as you listen, hoping the storm isn’t interfering with the phone lines too.
“Tom?”
“‘M here,” he reassures you, springs creaking again as he settles back on the hotel bed, “Was just taking off my shirt.” He cooed, making you roll your eyes as you picture his playful smirk, your cheeks flushing as you imagined that cheeky little head bop that followed most of his lewd comments.
“Now there’s a sight I’d like to see.” You hum, reclining back against the many pillows on your bed with a small smirk.
“Bet you’d be falling all over yourself for it,” he laughs, propping up a knee, “It’s a miracle you’ve lasted this long without it.”
“Without what?”
“My cock.” He answers, voice confident and cocky.
“Tommy!” You squeak, giggling despite yourself, which makes him chuckle on the other end, “And here I was hoping months away would turn you into a romantic!”
“Fat chance, love.” He laughs heartily, smiling genuinely for the first time in months.
Again, a comfortable silence washes over the two of you, each of you clinging to the phone like it was truly a lifeline, feeling closer than you have in months although you’re God knows how many kilometers apart.
He sighs again, though this one makes you smile. It’s a familiar sigh, one he only does before he says something he knows will get a rise out of you.
“What’re you wearing?” You can hear his smirk, you can practically feel it on you as he speaks, his voice already low and raspy.
You can’t help the tittering little giggle you let out, biting your lip as your cheeks flush further. “Erm, just your button down, actually,” you say, shy all of a sudden as you squirm atop your covers, “The one you wore in secondary some days… oh, and knickers.”
“And knickers,” he murmurs, quiet for a moment before continuing, “My girl in my shirt n’ I’m not there to see it. A real shame.”
“Yeah…” you whisper, fidgeting with the small buttons lining the front.
“D’you have my shirt buttoned, love?”
“Yes?”
“You think you could unbutton it for me?”
The way he asks for it has your heart racing, excitement building steadily within you as you rub your thighs together, already seeking something to lessen the tension within you. Almost automatically, your hands reach for the buttons as you cradle the phone on your shoulder, holding it in place with your cheek.
“Yes, Tommy.”
“That’s a good girl, love.” He praises, chuckling lowly as a small, delicate whimper just barely makes it through the phone lines.
You scramble, all but ripping the shirt in two until finally the fabric falls away. You’re already breathing heavier, chest heaving enough to have the shirt slip off your chest instantly; your nipples harden quickly in the cool air of your bedroom, the small radiator only doing so much to heat the space.
“It’s unbuttoned.” You breathe, squeezing your eyes shut as you desperately try to envision him doing the same.
“God, I wish I was there,” he sighs and your ears perk up when you hear a soft tinkling in the background, cheeks heating up at the thought of him slowly taking off his belt, “I miss those perfect fucking tits, lovely girl. Got off thinking about them every night.”
“Yeah?” You ask breathily, your fingers skimming softly over your stomach, coming to rest in the valley between your breasts.
“Mhm,” he murmurs, already breathing hotly into the phone, “Pinch them for me, pretty girl, yeah? Like I would.”
You gasp and quickly do as he requests, not being able to hold off any longer yourself. You whimper into the receiver as you tweak your nipples, your eyes roll back in your head at the thrill that shoots down your spine and settles right between your legs.
“Fuck, good girl.” He praises again, sounding like he’s speaking through clenched teeth.
“What’re you wearing?” You ask breathily, lightly tugging at your stiff nipples still as you rub your thighs together, your center already aching, “What’re you doing?”
“‘M rubbing my cock through my boxers,” he sighs heavily, “S’all I’ve got on.”
The thought makes you whimper again, imagining him cupping his already twitching length through the thin fabric of his underwear. Your mouth waters as you picture a wet patch near the tip, his cock leaking at the thought of you.
“Tommy,” you sigh as your back arches into your own touch, “Can I?”
Your meek question makes him chuckle. “Can you do what, love? You’ll need to be specific.”
You whine this time, biting your lip as your cheeks flush. “C-Can I…” you start, still feeling so impossibly shy around him sometimes, “Can I touch myself?”
“Thought you were already touching your tits?”
“Tommy!”
“C’mon, pretty,” he laughs, licking his lips as he imagines how cute you must look, cheeks all blushed with embarrassment, “Y’know what I wanna hear.”
“Can I touch my cunt?” You murmur, voice high-pitched and breathy.
“Fuck,” he breathes, head lolling back against his pillow, “Yeah, y’can, love, lemme hear you.”
Mindlessly, your hand drifts down. You don’t even bother to take off your panties, too impatient to go to the trouble as you shove your hand inside. A moan is punched out of you at the first touch, your core already throbbing as you glide your fingers through your slick folds. Tom groans along with you as your fingers finally begin swirling around your clit, your thighs spreading further.
“What, shit,” you sigh, a shudder rippling up your spine, “What’re you doing now?”
“Got my cock out,” he rasps, his voice catching, “Thinking about you while I fuck my hand, God, I wish it was your tight cunt, pretty girl.”
You whine again, back arching once more as your fingers skim over your clit before dipping down to gather more slick from your dripping entrance. You all but see stars when you rub yourself again, core clenching around nothing.
“Wish you were here…” You murmur, breath catching as you move your hand a little quicker.
“Yeah?” He asks in a low voice, “What would you want me to do?”
“Fuck me,” you whine, wiggling your hips impatiently, like he was just at the end of the bed teasing you instead of lost somewhere in the countryside, “Want you to fuck me, Tommy.”
He groans, louder than he probably should in a small inn. Your face flushes when you hear him spit, imaging his cock glistening as he uses it to stroke himself.
“Christ, I miss that pretty cunt,” he mutters, breath catching, probably speeding up in time with you, “Get a finger in there, love, fuck yourself like I would.”
Obediently, you do as he says, rutting against your own hand as you unceremoniously push two fingers into yourself, marveling at how tightly your walls already clench around them.
“Fuck, Tommy!” You squeak, clit tingling every time your palm smacks against it as you fuck youself.
“God, that’s it,” he groans, “Keep going, fuck, ‘m not gonna last.” He warns, knowing it’s been too long since he’d last had any privacy.
“‘M not going to either,” you assure him, shaking your head to your empty room as if he could see you, “Feels too good, oh!” You gasp, your whole body tensing up as you crook your fingers up, expertly locating that sensitive spot within you.
The two of you pleasure yourselves together for another few moments, heavy breaths and moans passing between the phones. Finally, Tom groans lowly again and swears through gritted teeth.
“Fuck, ‘m gonna cum,” he pants, the slick sound of his hand streaking over his cock in the background nearly makes you unravel, “Cum with me, pretty girl, please.”
The whiny way he says please is your undoing and you finally break, calling out his name breathily as you arch against your sheets. Slick sounds fill your bedroom as you peak, breathless at the way your core clenches rhythmically over your fingers.
Tom isn’t far behind you, his rough groans only adding to your pleasure. You whimper when he hisses out your name as he finishes, envisioning the way he paints his lower stomach with spend, cock twitching against his palm.
You breathe heavily for a moment as you both come down before you dissolve into giggles, your sour mood from earlier almost completely gone.
“Fucked you dumb n’ I’m not even there,” Tom gloats, sighing as he wipes away his cum with his boxers, too tired to get up and clean himself off properly, “You’re gonna make me blush, love.”
“Tommy!” You groan playfully, admonishing him through a giggle, “You’re horrible.”
“You love it.” He laughs tiredly, yawning quietly.
“Tired?”
“Yeah,” he huffs, the bed squeaking again as he makes himself comfortable, “Sorry love, s’been a long day.”
“I would imagine so,” you smile sadly still, twirling the phone cord around a finger, “I’ll let you sleep.”
“I’ll get to you tomorrow,” he promises, his voice heavy with sleep, “I swear, told you I’d be back for Christmas.”
“Tommy…” You sigh, glancing out the window to see snow still pouring from the sky.
“I mean it,” he murmurs tiredly, “A promise is a promise.”
Tumblr media
You wake with a start, jerking up in bed as you look around blearily, unsure of what woke you. Your eyes narrow as you glance at the clock on your bedside table, too early still for even your alarm to be going off.
You jump as you hear a knock from downstairs, someone pounding at the door. Rolling your eyes, you slip on a robe before making your way downstairs.
“I’m coming, I’m coming.” You sigh, rubbing sleep from your eyes as you reach for the doorknob, tugging it open with a frown.
“Wha–” You stop in your tracks, gasping loudly.
“Y’gonna let me in or are you gonna leave me out here to freeze my bollocks off?” Tom asks with a grin, laughing when you practically leap into his arms and pull him into a suffocating hug.
“Tommy!” You gasp, clinging to him, “How did you, when did you?” You stutter, a million questions running through your mind. Finally, you pull back just enough to look at him, nearly crying as you at last look into his familiar blue eyes, “How?” You breathe.
“A very nice famer with a truck,” he laughs, holding you tightly to him, “Told ya I’d get home to you by Christmas.”
Not being able to hold off anymore, you press your lips against his, feeling warm despite the cold.

Vision users accidentally resonating/releasing elemental energy when feeling overwhelmed or emotional.
Making Diluc blush so much he turns his head to the side to cough out fire just to cool down. You tease him a little more that he's acting like a cute dragon. If you look closely at a candle while having a particularly enjoyable moment with him, you'd see the flames sway side to side like a dog's tail. If someone's rude to you in the tavern, watch the flames on every candle blaze chaotically.
Kaeya who sneezes out frost. It embarrasses him a little and he tries to cover up his mouth whenever he sneezes. If you surprise him (something that rarely happens) he'd let out a quick version of his burst, freezing the area around his feet and cooling the air by several degrees. It's all fun and games until you're in a bathtub with him. When it's snowing, watch the snowflakes dance and fall gently around him as he looks at you with adoration.
Hutao pranking Zhongli, causing little quakes and pillars to pop from the ground. One time, he was pranked so bad that pillars of rock rose up everywhere but on you. Hm... how odd. He actually has pretty great control over his elemental energy but since becoming human, he allowed himself to let go more.
Ayato who absolutely despises the inconvenience of getting his clothes wet whenever his vision gets a little out of control. If you caused it, then expect to be brought under the rain of his elemental burst as well. He'll grab you by both wrists, pulling you into the circle and hold you still as you screech over your hair getting wet. Better prepare a towel or an extra outfit!
Thoma who tries to act completely normal when teased but suddenly every motion of his limbs are followed by a flow of fire. You find it beautiful how flames seem to follow his hands, or flash from every step of his feet, but he tells you to keep your distance for a bit as he calms himself.
bonus: Klee popping up those little dodoco plushies whenever she gets excited. like, oh! her eyes get all starry and she's shaking in excitement while plushies pop out of her hands non stop like magic and everyone's panicking but they can't be the assh0le and tell her to not be happy.
Diluc whose father's death numbed him but Kaeya's confession brought forth uncontrollable flames, the phoenix flapping wildly, the heat only aiding in his rage to bring forth his claymore. Later on, he comes to regret his outburst, blaming himself for going on the offensive against his own little brother and in his shame— he leaves Mondstadt for 4 years.
Kaeya whose first emotional outburst was also the first time he'd received his vision. Circling frost protecting him from searing wings of flame. Ice and fire and rain, such a dangerous combo for two people to fight in. He's hated any form of emotional outburst since then.

posted a doodle of Diluc's bit here

Literally Sleeping Together Prompts
it's cute, lol.
WARNINGS: Suggestive. Nightmares. Parents fighting.
Tumblr media
1) We’re sleeping over at a friend’s house, but both the bed and the couch are taken. We end up on the floor in a cocoon of blankets. And, I don’t know how we got here, but I woke up with your chest pressed to my back.
2) Preferring to sleep with the other person even though there’s another bed open.
3) After a “there’s only one bed” kind of event, I slept next to you. But now, my bed seems so empty, and yours seems so comfortable.
4) I’m damn freezing, and I know you run warm. You wouldn’t mind if I…
5) One character falling asleep watching the other’s chest rise and fall—basking in the vulnerability of it all.
6) We’re only halfway through our road trip, and there’s no hotel for miles. Thankfully, the trunk is wide open, and I have a few blankets.
7) This marriage has been nothing but a fake since the start. But we’re staying over at your parent’s home, and they’re expecting us to act like we’re in love… which side of the bed are you, regretfully, taking?
8) I fell asleep on the couch because I’m sick, and it’s the only way I’ve been able to fall asleep. I woke to you sleeping on the floor next to me.
9) Nightmares have been coming and going for me all night, but you offer to watch over me and “keep them away.” I know you’re not going to make it five minutes, but thank you.
10) As a bodyguard, you’ve been posted in my bedroom. Just… come sleep next to me. That way I can be safe, and you can be comfortable. Deal?
11) I may hate your guts, but I’m not going to just leave you here when you’re like that. Roll over.
12) Rain is pouring down the windows, and I have no will to go out. Neither do you, coincidentally. Curled around each other, we fall asleep to the television murmuring.
13) You’ve just come home from work, and are obviously worked up. In an attempt to distract you, I’m running my fingers down your chest, across your belt, down your sides, but you stop me. Embarrassed, you admit you just want to be held, maybe even to fall asleep in my arms. Never be embarrassed about that.
14) “What are we?” you asked, curled around me and buried underneath the sheets. “I don’t know,” I responded, listening to your heart. Do friends usually snuggle until the sun rises over the horizon?
15) The rings underneath your eyes are terrifying. Sit your ass down and go to sleep. And to make sure that you actually sleep, I’ll be right here beside you.
16) All the other hotel rooms are booked, and even though you are my ex, I would rather sleep next to you than a stranger, or even go back out into the snow. Move over, and let’s not talk about it.
17) You’re seriously allergic to the softener the cabin uses on their sheets. Thankfully, I bring my own—let me just move over.
18) I’ll kill your friends for showing you that horror movie with the knowledge that you scare easily, but for now, let me hold you and promise that the monsters underneath the bed don’t exist.
19) My neighbors are partying. Let me sleep over. Please.
20) It’s 2 a.m. but you call, asking if you can sleep over because your parents are fighting. Oh, darling…

“Y/N, get your stuff together, sweetie.” your teacher instructed once she hung up the phone with the main office. You were over at your desk practicing your vocabulary words with your friend Matthew, “Am I in trouble?” you wondered. Was she kicking you out? Did you do something wrong? You’ve never had to pack your bag in the middle of the day.
“No, no, of course not,” your teacher assured, “Your guardian is here to pick you up early,” she explained
“Early?” you weren’t told anything about this before you were dropped off, “Yes, she’s here now, better not to keep her waiting.” she urged.
After getting your things together you hurried to the main office to meet Wanda, or at least that’s who you were expecting. Your confusion continued when you saw Natasha waiting for you alone, “Natty? Where Mama?”
“Hi, Y/N. Oh, Wanda is just waiting for us at home, no need to worry,” she informed you with an eerily wide smile as she ushered you out of the building. Everything felt off, Nat always picked you up into her arms as soon as she saw you after camp. Maybe she was just in a hurry, so you stopped walking, “Natty, uppie?” you suggested with your arms up.
“Oh, sure come here,” she responded as she took you into her arms. The closer the two of you got to the parking lot, you could feel her rustling around in her pockets for something but you ignored it as you rested your head on her shoulder, “Guess what I learned 'bout today!” you offered, since usually, that was the first thing Nat would ask when she picked you up from camp.
“What?” she responded distractedly, not really interested in what you had to say.
“You s'posed to guess,” you urged.
“Ugh, I don’t know kid, 2+2?” she snapped back. You weren’t expecting such a negative response, usually, Natasha was so happy to see you.
“No, I a'ready know dat. I learned dat water uhm, can go from being water, uhm, den it can go into da air and up into da sky and den it comes back down when it rains from da sky. OH and when it gets cold, like really cold water turns solwid like ice and if it's raining den it’s snowing.” you explained with lots of excitement and exclaimated expressions on your face.
“Cool,” Natasha replied unimpressed. As the two of you got closer to the car and further from the school, the parking lot became more desolate. Once you were in a spot that was tucked away and out of the public eye, you noticed that she finally pulled whatever she was looking for out of her pocket.
“Natty, you ok?” you wondered if something was wrong since she seemed so off and uninterested in you.
“Hm? Oh yea, everything is fine,” she assured as you felt a stabbing pain in your left leg causing you to jolt slightly in shock, “OW! Natty, wha's dat?” almost instantly you felt your muscles relax so much that you no longer had control over them, “Na'y?” you fought out as you slumped over. Trying to focus on anything proved to be a challenge as you struggled to keep your eyes from closing. It didn’t take long before it was too much to fight and you slowly drifted away into unconsciousness in her arms.
Tumblr media
When dismissal time rolled around, Wanda and Nat were there 5 minutes early like always. Your teacher was quite concerned to see them there waiting for you when you had already left for the day so she immediately approached the couple with a perplexed expression adorning her features, “What brings you two back here today?”
The two werent expecting to be questioned for something so mundane, “What do you mean? We’re here for Y/N, of course.” Wanda politely chuckled, hoping the teacher was just joking around.
“Y/N already left, you were were here around lunch time to pick her up for early dismissal,” Your teacher informed as she motioned towards Natasha.
Wandas, heartbeat immediately picked up as she began to dial in on her senses, “Early dismissal? This is the first time I’ve been here all day,” Natasha answered and Wanda could see that the teacher wasn’t lying, but neither was Natasha.
Tumblr media
You began to stir slowly, thinking you were down for a nap in your bed. It wasn’t until your eyes fluttered open and you began to focus on the details around you that you noticed you were back in a cell. Once you’re fully awake, you stand up to inspect the door holding you captive. In an attempt to break out, you try to concentrate your powers and quake the door open even though didn’t have high hopes as you have never had full control of your powers, but you figured it was worth a shot. Unfortunately, your captors were one step ahead of you. Instantly you fell to the ground with an intense pain emanating from the inhibitor they had placed around your neck.
Memories from earlier quickly flooded back to the front of your mind as you quickly jolted yourself into the corner and curled your body into the fetal position. Tears began threatening to spill from your eyes as you remembered who was responsible for your trip back to the cell. Natasha. How could she do this? One of the people you trusted most just betrayed you so easily. Though, that wasn’t anything new for you, in fact, you think to yourself that you really should’ve seen it coming. It’s what they all do. Seems like no one is ever really on your side.
Your spiraling thoughts are interrupted when the door to your cell swings open and 3 people flood in. You try to fold in on yourself and become as small as you can but you're already tight-knit in the corner.
As if your vivid memories weren’t enough, Natasha Romanoff stands before you, and you see every detail in her face with your judicious eyes, “Oh good, étoile, you’re awake.”
The nickname caught your attention. Étoile? Nat never called you étoile. You haven’t heard that nickname since hydra had taken you away. Still, you stayed silent.
Noticing your silent demeanor, the women in front of you continues, “What’s the matter, y/n? Aren’t you happy to be home?”
“dis not home.” you shakenly spat out, “Where's mama?” you cried out.
Squatting down to your level, she peeled the digital cloaking device from her face and sinisterly said, “Don’t worry sweetie, mama is right here.”
You were nothing short of shocked as you saw the true face of the person that took you. To be truthful, you never expected to see your birth mother again, “Ma?” you mumbled unsure of your own eyes.
“It’s me, Étoile.” she assured, “Now be a good girl and behave while they administer your tests for the day,” she instructed.
“We go home? No Poke, please!” you cried, remembering how tortuous your experience was last time you were in a cell.
“Oh, Étoile. You are home. Don’t you understand? This is what you were made for.” she said with a cheeky grin as she waved over the 2 scientists.
Made for? You didn’t understand, you always thought that Hydra stole you away from your mother. Everything you remembered about her was positive, but you didn’t have much time to reflect before you were being tied to a chair and then poked and prodded with needles. Your mother left the cell swiftly before the process began, not to be bothered by your screams of torture.

Wanda's heart pounded in her chest as she stood in the dimly lit briefing room, empty to everyone but her and the one she called her best friend. Her hands trembled, anger and desperation fueling her determination. You, the child she had accepted wholeheartedly as her own, had been taken by Hydra, and Wanda was consumed by an overwhelming sense of fear, anguish, and guilt. How could she let this happen? She was supposed to be there to protect you.
Tears streamed down her face as she turned to Natasha, her eyes pleading for strength and support. In that moment, Natasha knew that she had to be Wanda's rock, the unwavering presence by her side, offering solace and steadfast determination.
Natasha stepped forward, her voice filled with conviction and a touch of tenderness. "Wanda, we will get Y/N back. We won't rest until she’s safe with us again. I promise you that." she assured as she took Wanda into a sturdy embrace, letting her sob into her shoulder.
Wanda pulled back once the tears began to slow and looked at Natasha, her eyes filled with gratitude and a glimmer of hope amidst the darkness. She clung to Natasha's words, finding comfort in her support. "How?"
Nat thought for a moment, “Tony’s got the team on it, once they have a lead we’ll be the first one’s out of here,” she explained, but that wasn’t good enough for Wanda, “No, I- I can’t just sit around here and do nothing.” she sobbed until it clicked, “Wait- let me try something.” she said as she took a seat and closed her eyes to focus her energy on you. The two of you had never connected from this far before but anything was worth a shot if it meant getting you back safe and sound.
Tumblr media
Once the tests were completed, you were left in your cell alone to recover. The dimly lit, virtually windowless chamber located deep within a hidden underground facility was a chilling embodiment of Hydra’s sinister intentions and scientific pursuits. The walls are made of reinforced steel and painted in a lifeless gray color. There are no windows or openings to the outside world, reinforcing the feeling of being trapped and the cell door is heavy and secured by an electronic lock, with no visible handle from the inside. It has a small, reinforced window that allows guards to monitor the occupant. A place where the subject’s powers are studied and manipulated, and the surroundings are deliberately designed to break their spirit and hope.
The only furnishing that adorns the room consists of a worn-out mattress on the floor, a small table with a basic chair, and restraints that are attached to the bed and the chair. The table is usually cluttered with scientific instruments and notebooks. Not to mention, the air in the cell is perpetually cool, contributing to a sense of discomfort and unease.
As you’re laying there drifting in and out of sleep, you hear Wanda’s voice and immediately wonder if you’re dreaming, “Y/N, can you hear me?”
“Mama?” you answer back telepathically, “detka, oh my god, are you ok?” she was so relieved to solidify the connection with you.
“Mama, where are you? Wanna come home” you answered back, wanting nothing more than to be back at the compound with Wanda. Safe with her.
“I know sweetie, we’re going to come and get you, I promise. Are you hurt? Do you know where you are?” she tried to assure you as much as she could, maybe even believing her own words more as she said them.
You explained everything that you had gone through today and tried your hardest to describe where you were being held but you didn’t know exactly where they were holding you. As Wanda's determined thoughts intertwined with yours, she was able to take in all the information you had. In the midst of darkness, your telepathic conversation became a lifeline of hope and reassurance. Wanda's thoughts were a beacon of love, guiding you through the darkness and fear.
“It was her birth mother.” Wanda uttered to Nat in shock once she concluded the conversation with you.
Tumblr media
With a better understanding of what they were dealing with, the two of them went to brief the team on their new findings. Everyone in the compound worked on overdrive to try and find a lead as to where you were being held. Days turned into weeks as they chased leads, infiltrated secret hideouts, and fought their way through Hydra's defenses.
Through it all, Wanda would reach out to you every day to check in, update you on their efforts, and try to provide any sense of comfort that she could and Natasha remained Wanda's constant pillar of strength, offering a reassuring presence in the face of adversity. During sleepless nights and moments of doubt, Natasha was there, holding Wanda close, reminding her that they were in this together. "We're going to bring Y/N home, Wanda. She’s our family, and nothing will stop us from finding her."
Their search for the Hydra base was a strenuous journey through a web of secrecy and deception. It began with a series of covert operations, hacking into encrypted files, and gathering intelligence from their extensive network of contacts. The leads were scarce, but their determination was unyielding.
This night, in particular, the weight of the situation finally became too much for Wanda to bear. She had retreated to her room, her heart heavy with a sense of helplessness that she had become far too familiar with from the loss of her parents and her brother, except this time, it felt different. This time, she had the chance to save you, to protect you and she just kept failing. Sitting on the edge of her bed, her hands trembling, she buried her face in her palms and let out a choked sob. The frustration, fear, and guilt that had been building inside her finally erupted in a torrent of tears.
She cried for the innocent child who had been taken, for the suffering you were going through, and for her own inability to bring you back. Her breakdown was a raw and cathartic release of emotions that she had been holding back for far too long, unintentionally expressing her powers in a way that could be felt throughout the whole compound. Instead of trying to calm her, the team thought it best for her to let it out in that moment instead, and if it got to be too much they would intervene. Truthfully, Natasha would've been right by her side in an instant if she didn't feel like she was on the cusp of important intel.
As the tears flowed, Wanda's mind raced, and in her anguish, she began to replay every detail of the situation, every piece of information they had gathered, searching for something, anything that they might have missed.
It was in this vulnerable moment, as she let herself fully feel the depth of her emotions, that a small glimmer of insight emerged. Amidst her tears, Wanda's mind began to connect the dots in a way it hadn't before. She realized that the clues they had gathered pointed to a location they hadn't considered – a place that she had heard whispers about during her time at Hydra but had never been to herself.
Wanda's breathing steadied as she wiped away her tears, her mind now focused and clear. She knew what needed to be done. Without wasting another moment, she rushed downstairs to find Natasha
Meanwhile, Natasha managed to intercept a coded message from an anonymous source containing coordinates and a cryptic message that hinted at Hydra's involvement in a desolate region.
As Wanda rounded the corner to the lab, the two of them locked eyes and from the look on each other's faces, they could both tell that they shared a similar realization, "She's in Norway!" They both shouted in unison, "How do you know?" Wanda questioned, wondering what led Nat to the realization, "Come, look at this," Nat waved her over to show her the intel she had intercepted.
Without hesitation, Wanda and Natasha gathered the team to follow this lead, their hope renewed by the prospect of finally locating the hidden base.
The coordinates led them to a remote forested area far away from populated regions in Norway. As they cautiously ventured deeper into the wilderness, they discovered signs of recent human activity that didn't match the surrounding environment. A faint humming sound filled the air, a sign of advanced technology hidden beneath the surface.
Using their combined skills, Natasha and Tony uncovered a concealed entrance to an underground facility. The entrance was camouflaged to blend seamlessly with the natural landscape, a tactic Hydra often employed to evade detection. The two Avengers shared a knowing glance, their determination solidified as they realized they were closing in on their target.
With stealth and caution, the team navigated through the dimly lit corridors of the underground base. The air was heavy with tension, the walls seemingly holding the secrets of Hydra's sinister operations. As they approached a heavily guarded door, Wanda’s telepathic connection proved invaluable as she sensed the presence of minds within, confirming that they were on the right track.
Tony's hacking skills came into play as he disabled security measures, allowing them to breach the inner chambers of the base. What they discovered left them both horrified and fueled their determination further. Among the confidential documents and experimentation records, they found references to you, confirming some of their worst fears.
“This is it, I know it.” Wanda confirmed, feeling it in her gut that you weren’t far.
Once they breached the main door, there were several hallways that led in different directions, so they set off in smaller groups to cover ground.
In the dimly lit corridors of the Hydra base, Wanda and Natasha's hearts pounded in unison. Their steps were silent, every movement calculated to avoid detection while they closed in on your location. As they turned a corner, they encountered a group of Hydra operatives standing guard outside a reinforced door. Wanda raised her hand slightly, gesturing for Natasha to stand back.
Wanda’s telepathic powers allowed them to communicate silently, sharing a plan without a word spoken. Natasha nodded in agreement, her eyes narrowing with determination. With a focused look, Wanda unleashed her telekinetic powers, sending nearby metal pipes hurtling toward the operatives. The clang of metal striking metal echoed through the corridor as chaos erupted.
Startled by the sudden assault, the operatives scrambled to defend themselves, drawing their weapons in an attempt to fight back. On cue, Natasha emerged from the shadows, her movements a blur of precise strikes and calculated maneuvers. She incapacitated one after another with her lethal grace, using her combat skills to disarm and disable the threat swiftly.
Wanda's crimson energy flared as she repelled bullets and incoming attacks with a deft wave of her hand. The walls themselves seemed to respond to her power, creating barriers and distractions that kept the Hydra agents off balance. As she engaged in the battle, her mind remained focused on the task at hand: reaching you before it was too late.
The sound of a distant alarm reverberated through the corridors, signaling the base's heightened state of alert. Wanda's determination burned brighter, her powers intensifying as she fought to clear a path toward your cell. Natasha's acrobatic maneuvers and sharpshooting skills cleared the way ahead, allowing Wanda to push forward without hesitation.
As they breached the inner chambers of the base, they confronted a larger group of Hydra operatives led by Brock Rumlow. The stakes were higher, but Wanda and Natasha's resolve remained unshaken. Wanda's hands glowed with raw energy, her telekinesis and telepathy intertwining in a symphony of power that left Hydra agents disoriented and vulnerable.
Natasha's movements were a fluid dance of combat expertise, as she used her environment to her advantage. She disarmed opponents with precision, her strikes quick and lethal. With every enemy she incapacitated, her gaze remained locked on Rumlow, their silent exchange a testament to the intensity of the battle.
Amidst the chaos, Rumlow's laughter rang out, confident that his forces would overcome the duo. But he underestimated the strength of their bond and the depth of their love for you. As the battle raged on, Wanda's emotions ignited her powers to unprecedented heights, causing the very walls of the hideout to tremble.
With a fierce cry, Wanda sent a wave of energy surging towards Rumlow, disorienting him long enough for Natasha to close the distance. Their combined assault was relentless, their every move coordinated and precise. In a final, climactic clash, Wanda's telekinetic force collided with Natasha's formidable combat skills, overwhelming Rumlow's defenses.
As the dust settled, the once menacing Hydra operatives lay defeated on the ground, and Rumlow himself was immobilized. Wanda and Natasha shared a moment of exhaustion and triumph, their breaths labored and their bodies battered from the intense battle. But their relief was short-lived, as their focus turned towards the reinforced door that separated them from you.
With a shared nod of persistence, they approached the door, and Wanda shattered the barrier with her powers, revealing your cell. The sight of you, fragile and weak, ignited a plethora of emotions within them.
As they reunited with you, tears of joy streamed down Wanda's face. She quickly scooped you into her arms, holding you tightly, apologizing profusely, and promising to protect you from any harm. You clung to her as tightly as you could, still slightly out of it from all of the physical torment you've been through but her presence was enough to soothe you. Beside her, Natasha's eyes filled with unshed tears, a silent testament to their shared triumph and unyielding love for you. You were so happy to see Wanda, feeling like you could finally relax again in her arms.
In that moment, as they held you close, Wanda knew that she owed a debt of gratitude to Natasha. She had been her guiding light, her unwavering support, throughout the harrowing fight to get you back. They had fought side by side, risking everything for the sake of their family.
Once they were safely out of the base and back onto the jet, Wanda looked at Natasha, her voice filled with love and gratitude. "Nat, you've been my rock through all of this. I-I really couldn't have done it without you.” she said sincerely as you layed asleep in her lap, “Thank you for always being there, for fighting alongside me, and for reminding me of the strength we have together."
Natasha's eyes softened, a smile tugging at the corners of her lips as she gently puts her arm around Wanda, "Wanda, we're a team. We always have been, and always will be. Y/N is our family, and we'll do whatever it takes to keep her safe."
Natasha's words hung in the air, a powerful reminder of their shared commitment to you and maybe even each other. Wanda met Natasha's gaze, her heart pounding in her chest as the intensity of the moment settled between them. There was a noticeable connection, a current of unspoken emotions that surged between them, binding them even closer together.
In that charged moment, Wanda's hesitation melted away. She leaned in without another thought, her lips finding Natasha's in a gentle and tender kiss. It was a kiss that held years of unspoken feelings, a culmination of shared experiences, and the promise of a future filled with love and support. The world seemed to fade away, leaving only the two of them in that moment of intimacy and vulnerability.
Once Wanda's inner anxiety caught up to her, she abruptly pulled away, "I-I'm sorry," she blurted out so afraid that she had just ruined one of the best things in her life.
Natasha's fingers brushed against Wanda's cheek, her touch gentle and reassuring, guiding her to meet her gaze "Wanda," she whispered, her voice a soft murmur that sent shivers down Wanda's spine. "I've been waiting for this moment for a long time."
Wanda smiled, a mixture of emotions flooding her senses – happiness, relief, and a deep sense of rightness. "Me too."
Their lips met again, this time with a hunger born of years of suppressed emotions. The kiss was deeper, and more passionate, as if they were pouring all their unspoken words and desires into the connection between them. It was a kiss that spoke of understanding, acceptance, and the promise of a love that had always been there, just waiting to be acknowledged.
As they pulled away, their foreheads still resting against each other, Wanda felt a sense of completeness that she had never experienced before. She had found not only a partner in Natasha but a kindred spirit, someone who understood the complexities of her heart and the depth of her emotions. And in that moment, as they sat in the aftermath of their kiss, Wanda knew that their journey together was just beginning and for the first time in her life, she felt excited to see what her future would hold with her chosen family.

Once you all returned to the safety of the Avengers compound, the atmosphere was a mixture of relief, exhaustion, and an overwhelming sense of triumph. They had faced down Hydra, rescued you, and emerged from the battle victorious. But the emotional toll of the ordeal was palpable, especially for you who had endured the trauma of being captured by the enemy. It took about a week once you arrived home to be discharged from medical.
Wanda and Natasha’s first priority was ensuring your physical and emotional well-being. They took their time comforting you, understanding that the scars of the experience would take time to heal. As much as they wanted to explore this new chapter in their own relationship, they both agreed that you came first. Once things felt normal again, Nat already had a special date planned in her head.
Until then, Wanda used her powers to create a warm and comforting environment, conjuring a soothing atmosphere that helped you feel at ease. You spent hours in the living area, surrounded by blankets and soft lighting, engaging in gentle activities that would help you transition back to a sense of normalcy. You played games, shared stories, and simply enjoyed each other's company.
However, the effects of the traumatizing experience couldn't be ignored. your sleep became troubled by nightmares again, and both Wanda and Natasha tried to take turns staying by your side, offering comfort and security during the dark hours, but you only wanted Wanda. It was hard for you to look at Nat the same after she kidnapped you. Even though you knew it wasn’t actually her, you were still having a hard time feeling comfortable with her.
This gutted Natasha, every time you shied away from her or asked for Wanda instead. She was worried that she had lost you forever and things would never go back to normal, but Wanda was there to assure her that it would just take you some time.
As days turned into weeks, the wounds of the past began to mend. With their loving guidance, your smiles returned, your laughter grew more genuine, and the light in your eyes rekindled. You engaged in activities that brought joy, like exploring the compound's gardens, conducting science experiments with Peter, and even embarking on imaginative adventures that only a child's mind could conceive.
One night after a long day with Wanda, the three of you had decided to watch a movie before bed and instead of sitting on the end next to Wanda, you climbed in the middle of Wanda and Nat, snuggling up to them while the movie played. That small action meant the world to Natasha, as she could finally see things were getting back to normal.

Rainy Scenarios with SKZ (sfw)
8 short scenarios for each member
mentioning rain and storms, frustration and annoyance, showers together without explicit description, the sea, frogs
only bullet points
wc: 1419
Chan
• Watched you leaving the room when you were starting to get upset.
• He didn't know why and what happened, if something happened, but he had to time to console you.
• Slowly making his way to each room closer to the front door spying through each window that offers him a view of you.
• Takes an umbrella with him when he finally exited and tries to close the final door as quite as possible behind him, because despite wanting to be in reach for when you might start disliking being alone in the cold, he wanted to give you space and not disturb your peace.
• Leaned against the house wall as he watches you jumping into the puddles of the pavement, crouching down to let your hand wander through the water on the ground and shaking of remaining droplets by spinning, seemingly welcoming the fresh water from above.
• Smiled warmly when you noticed him, but signaled you to keep going if you wanted to.
• Surprised when you ran towards him, telling him that you feel better, proceeding to ask if he needed to let go of annoying thoughts.
• He just couldn't stop smiling, proud of seeing you taking care of yourself so ambiguously.
• Let you lead him into the rain, leaving the umbrella leaning against the wall.
• Spinning like a fairy himself.
• When he was finally drenched, he'd hug you, lift you for a shared spin.
• Would do a battle of who can dance the silliest, most extravagant moves to shake off the water in their clothes, well aware that it was impossible when it was pouring like this.
• Would imitate the moves in tiny when he went to take a warm shower with you, not able to stop laughing with you.
Minho
• Was on an evening walk with you when it was freezing outside.
• Would be looking out for cats, when it started raining.
• His deminor quickly changed and he hoped to see no cats, that they were all safe at a warmer place.
• With his worries, he unconsciously held your hand tighter and tucked you closer towards him.
• He looked at you and found you looking up with your mouth opened, trying to catch the falling water that was almost in the frozen state of snow.
• Watched you curiously and shielded your moth with his free hand to annoy you.
• Eventually, joined you, trying to catch snowflakes either with his mouth or his hand.
• It became a challenge of who would catch more flakes on the way home, running, jumping, awkwardly spinning.
• Minho had to stop his own hunt every ten seconds, because he found you too adorable to watch, also kinda worried you might run into someone.
• Denied that you won when you entered the building, but eventually doodled you a jeuremi snowflake that he handed you as an award.
• Gave you a bottle of water, because he knew you mainly started chasing the snow, because you were thirsty.
Changbin
• The second it started raining when he was outside the restaurant with you, he opened the umbrella and made sure to shield you from the drops.
• Didn't expect to immediately switch the side you were walking next to him.
• He switched the side he was holding the umbrella accordingly, but got annoyed when you kept moving around him.
• Changbin grew both angry and confused, ready to confront you. He was tired, okay?
• Stopped in his tracks, facing you to tell you to please stop, but you just switched sides again.
• He dropped the umbrella in front of him in frustration.
• Was surprised when you lifted it up again, gently taking it out of his hand and holding it above you two, continuing to walk.
• Changbin relaxed and let you led the way, huddling closer to you and under the umbrella.
Hyunjin
• A picnic ended with the start of rain, making him hurry in packing everything up.
• He handed you the basket, while he folded the blanket you were sitting on moments ago, stressed out, because he thought the rain ruined the day, he planned with immense dedication.
• When he turned around to take the basket from you, he found you kneeling down in front of him, a ring made out of daisies presented to him.
• 'Will you dance with me before we leave?', you asked and Hyunjin grasped and squeezed in joy, throwing his head back in laughters.
• He pulled you pack up, let you put the flower ring onto his pinky and started dancing with you on the grass.
• The rain got heavier, drenching your both's clothes, but it just made Hyunjin push you closer against him, seeking warmth.
• On the way home, the clouds opened up and you two walked in the fresh phase of sunlight, clothes drying right there.
Jisung
• He missed the train and it started raining.
• You were out in the city, not knowing Jisung was there as well, and you both ran into each other at the train station.
• 'What?!'; 'You here?'!; 'Fucking train!'. You were just exchanging exclamations, flabbergasted about the fact that you accidently ran into eachother.
• It started raining while waiting for the next train, and you made a game out of counting the raindrops.
• Holding the hand out from under the roof, the one who reaches 10 raindrops on one hand first, wins.
• 10 got to boring soon, so you stocked up to 20, then 50 then 100 and then the next train was already there and you playfully used the eother's shirt to wipe your hands, ending up with mutual wet fabric.
Felix
• He was too lazy to get rid of the makeup on his face.
• You noticed the rain and suggested an evenkng walk and to your surprise, he actually joined you instead of gaming beyond tiredness.
• You 'forgot' take an umbrella with you and within 5 minutes, his face was a raindrop itself, make up running down his cheeks.
• He just stared at you in annoyance, realising that this was your plan all along, so he chased you and when he finally caught you, made you sit down in a puddle in front of the building of his apartment.
• Both wet, you went back inside and he showered you with warm water and gentle scented shampoo, so you don't end up sick, while you gently removed his make up and gave him a whole skin care procedure.
• In the end, he really didn't have to do anything, but enjoying you taking care of him.
Seungmin
• Went to the beach with you, a relaxing evening nature trip, and sat down in a hut in the sand with the view of the water, while it was heavily raining and storming.
• Gave you his warm hoodie and jacket to wear beforehand, but he forgot his gloves himself.
• Stuffed his hands inside the jacket you were wearing, because it was his after all, he reasoned.
• It would get too cold agter all and you started doing workout exercises in the safety of the little hut.
• There was not enough space for a proper execusion, so you were rather hinting that you were doing jumping jacks.
• Seungmin lied down on the bench and proceeded on doing situps.
• You wanted to motivate him to do more when he wanted to stop, but had to scream due to the loud sounds of wind and rain.
• Seungmin yelled back in in frustration and you both ended up yelling and laughing.
• You realized that it felt quite reliving, so you wandered outside and closer to the water, screaming all worries out into the darkness and into the sea.
Jeongin
• He went on a shopping trip with you.
• He didn't think the rain would be bothering since you were maknly inside stores anyway, but whenever you guys left one to walk to the next one, the rain indeed bothered Jeongin.
• That was until he found raincoats in a frog design, originally for children, but who cares.
• He bought two and threw away the idea of shopping, making you wear one coat, before you stepped outside again.
• He said that he wanted to go home and when you agreed, to his liking even happily instead of disappointed, he was thrilled.
• Every puddle became the perfect spot for a photoshoot and he collected picture after picture of you in the green raincoat on his phone.
• Eventually, you switched it up and started playing Pentagon's 'Naughty Boy', animating Jeongin to dance in his frog coat, regardless if he knew the original choreography or needed to improvise.

The ending had come quicker than anyone expected. The epidemics and endemics and pandemics of the years past had given false confidence to everyone. We survived the last thing, the news reporters had said, gray building beneath their eyes, and we can survive this. Behind them images of towns being devoured played.
Bodies can decompose in as little as nine days. The first to go is the soft tissue: the eyes, the tongue, the soft flesh of the cheeks. When bacteria and insects are introduced, the flesh breaks down faster. Bones take longer - sometimes years to fully wear away into the dust that collects underfoot. But these things - whatever turned them kept them covered in a thin layer of adipocere to protect them from the elements. They kept shuffling along long past the time when they should have reverted back to a primordial soup where they lay.
But they still decomposed. The trick was to stay ahead of them, away from the gnashing teeth that transmitted the virus, away from the hands and feet that never seemed to tire. So few people could. Whole towns and cities were decimated, felled beneath the hordes of horror that ambled slowly past, swallowed up by the feet that didn’t stop moving until they wore themselves down to stubs, which were them pulled forward by hands and knees that never tired.
But yours did. The familiar path towards the north was more overgrown this year than in the past. For a few years, there had been wary companions, eyes that lingered until the snow and frost rolled in to freeze the Biters where they stood. But as the years wanned on the crowd grew smaller and smaller until you only caught hints of others moving north: horse prints, trash left behind, the occasional Biter left decomposing in the bushes.
This year there was nothing. Either you had moved too early or there was no one left. The latter is too terrifying, so you push it away and think about whatever groups may wander through here after you.
The woods loom tall above you, the snow that fell earlier in the morning just barely dusting the branches above your head. None of it had reached the leaves that are too waterlogged from recent rains to crunch beneath your feet. A blister is rubbing itself raw at your ankle; you know that if you don’t stop to treat it, it will be unbearable tomorrow, but you brush the thought off. You need to reach the marker before nightfall.
The markers had appeared between one trip north and your trip back down.
West Village - 20km
The first year it had appeared left the group you were with in a tizzy. The group had fractured down the middle. If all of you found each other, how hard was it to think that a larger group had finally banned together? Civilization needed to rebuild eventually.
You didn’t trust the shaky scrawl that printed the words, so you had been with the group that refused to go. The next year there was another marker tacked to the first.
Body snatchers. Beware.
It was amazing to you: how well rumors could start and spread without phones or the internet. For months, every person you and your group came across would give the same warning, and ask you all the same questions. Have you seen the body snatchers? Are you the body snatchers?
Humans turned cannabolids. Farms where people were forced to reproduce. Spits with babies roasting above the fire. You wanted to think that it was the stuff of fiction.
In the third year, there was another argument. The group cleaved in half again when the promise of civilization reared its head. Your group had divided again at the markers, disappearing into the thick woods.
Almost no one survived the winter that year. You’d held the hands of all the dying and covered them under a thick blanket of snow before dividing their possessions up between the remainder of the group. In the end, there were just three of you. And when the winter rolled away you all broke apart, whatever ties that held you all together broken by the cold.
The next year you were the only one in your camp.
The markers had become a sort of prayer to you, that one day you’d meet someone else on the road - some scream and shout that there were others out there even if you were too wary to speak to them.
But it’s been two years - the crude paint of the West Village sign fading, the body snatchers warning falling to the earth unceremoniously. The wood started to rot.
And you were utterly alone. Around you, the sound of nature getting ready for the winter fills in the ever-present silence that usually surrounds you. It’s been weeks since you’d last seen a person: a lone traveler moving in the opposite direction as you. And you’d hid from them, worried that they were the sort of feral people turned into when they were alone for too long - a body snatcher. Worried that you were that kind of feral.
You know the markers when you approach them like your body’s memorized the number of steps it takes to reach them. Your chest thumps as you approach the spot where they should be nailed to a tree, growing taller into the air each year. Your boots falter against the wet leaves as you approach the place.
The markers have been repainted. Or at least the West Village one has. This time it’s nailed to a post in the ground; you bend down to inspect the dirt around the post. It’s packed underneath a thick layer of loam - whoever put it up must have put it up much earlier in the year. The thought sends a shiver down your spine. You wonder if any members of your former group are still there.
For half a second, you think about following the arrow, but before the thought can fully form in your head, you let your feet carry you forward on the path. Just ahead is the rest area you’ve always used. Your tree, one with branches high enough that the only things who can see you are the birds whose nests you disturb, erupts from the ground ahead of you.
You climb up like you were taught; throwing your rope onto the first branch you can physically reach and lash it to yourself. It’s more difficult to climb the tree with your pack and bow, but you don’t want to risk leaving it behind for anyone who may come through after you. When you reach the point where the rope reaches the tree, you pull yourself onto the branch. The blister on your ankle is screaming, but you don’t pause until your hammock is secure and your harness is wrapped around you. The cool wind cuts through the thin fabric of the hammock, but it’s not too cold as you peel back your socks to reveal an angry raw spot crawling across your ankle.
Too tired to do much more, you slide your other boot off, tying them together and then to your pack. The gentle sway of the trees makes your eyelids heavy, and you let yourself drift off into the first good night's sleep you’ve had in a while.
Tumblr media
The bitter cold wakes you up, the wind moving your hammock back and forth gently. The darkness spins above you, clouds backlit by the moon. Not for the first time you think about how easy it used to be, curled up with another warm body beneath the thick blankets - how easy it was to switch on the percolator in the morning and wrap your hands around a warm cup of coffee, how easy -
You press the heel of your hands into your eyes and try to press away the thoughts that are racing through your brain. Remembering the before drives people crazy; you’ve seen how it can eat people up and you refuse to let it eat at you. So you pull your thermal blanket closer around yourself and try to get some sleep.
But the sun rises earlier than you expected and extra sleep never comes.
It doesn’t take long for you to pack what little you have back in your pack and descend back down. At the bottom you dig out the little bit of jerky you still have saved from the summer months; it’s disgusting, but it’s enough to push you forward to the next place.
You walk the entire time with your bow in your hand, waiting for some animal to run out in front of you and meet its mark, but the forest is silent today as you push towards the next stop in your journey north, a small nameless village secluded away from the rest of civilization - just good enough to sleep in for the night.
The sun has just started to sink below the treeline when the village finally springs into view. The blister on your ankle has popped, and you think you can feel blood rushing into your sock, but you don’t dare stop and check; you don’t want the scent of fresh blood to attract any Biters that may be hidden away for now. Your fingers cramp around the bow and your stomach growls. You’d picked a smooth rock up from the ground hours earlier and popped it into your mouth to try and trick yourself into thinking you were eating something, but it hadn’t worked. If anything it made your hunger worse.
There was salvation coming - on your second year coming through here you’d snuck off from the group and buried a cache. Each year you did your best not to touch it unless it was to refill something inside of it, but this year you knew you’d have to empty it.
You crunch over tire tracks that crisscross over each other on the main road into the village; they’re dry enough that you know whoever managed to scrape up enough gas to drive in and out was gone, but the thought of someone driving up on you made you nervous, and make your steps quicken. If people were driving through here then you needed to be gone before sunlight tomorrow.
Weary, you push yourself towards the back half of the village to a little two-story you know well. It had been the same house your group, and then yourself, slept in each year on your way to the north camp; in the back, beneath an overturned chair that was slowly rotting with time, your little cache was stored.
You shoulder your way through the half-rotted back gate and freeze. The chair is tossed to the side, rusted parts puzzle pieced across the ground. And directly where your cache had been buried is a hole, smoothed over from time and rain.
You could cry if you had any water left in you to cry. So instead you walk numbly into the house - habit making you click the lock on the door even though it’s long since stopped working. The same thick dust that was here last year is still across the floor, so thick your steps don’t even disturb it. You pass through the living area and up the steps. On the landing, you don’t pause - to the left of you is the nursery that’s always been empty. The first few times you’d stopped here the sight of the broken-down white crib and sage walls made something ache inside of you, and you’d learned not to look. It’s better to just let things alone and try to stifle your imagination.
The attic ladder swings down with ease and you test your weight on the rungs before climbing up - any broken bones and you may as well just shoot yourself where you lay. It creaks ominously beneath you but keeps as you clamber through the hole. You let yourself collapse on the floor beside the ladder after pulling it up, and wrapping a rope around the ladder to keep anyone from pulling it down in the night. All at once, hunger and exhaustion pull you down towards the floor.
You’ll have to shoot something tomorrow and check the well for fresh water. There are still to many miles before you make it north enough to be safe for the winter, and you won’t make it without water and food.
You try to distract yourself from the cramping of hunger and how little water is left in your jug by peeling your boots off. As you’d thought, the blister had split and bled, but thankfully your sock had caught most of it.
You clean up the best you can in the dusty light filtering in from the little window that looks out the back garden and wonder who could have known the cache was there. An old group member who spotted you checking it in the past? Or was it a lucky guess, someone who came through after you and spotted the freshly disturbed dirt and came to the right inference?
You try to tell yourself it doesn’t matter as you pull your thermal blanket from your pack and lay down, but you can’t quite convince yourself of that lie.

K appreciates nothing more than these blissfully warm moments, waking up with you laid half on top of him, weighing him down like a… what was it you’d called it? Ah yes, a comfort blanket. And comfort, it most certainly was.
At first he’d likened being close to you with realising the sensation of snow against his skin was actually kind of pleasant if he paid attention to it. Both filled him with a soothing sort of wonder after an initial period of apprehension. The kind of feeling one might experience upon discovering there is more to life and being able to start actually experiencing and enjoying it.
But the longer this went on – that is, you, staying – the more it began to feel like something else that K couldn’t quite place. Over time, you’d helped him recognise that the new, satisfying feeling he was being faced with was called home. Feeling at home. He liked the sound of that. It sounded permanent. And safe.
And he does feel safe with you. He feels safe to explore who he is, rather than what he was expected to be. He feels safe sleeping with you pressed to him in only his underwear, otherwise exposed, yet waking up calm and relaxed as rain beats down against his windows, distorting the neon glow from the city outside that lights up his room far more than the dull glow of morning sun. He wishes these moments could last forever, and in some ways, he supposes, they do.
There were other feelings you’d helped him to fully grasp too, of course. Some of them were difficult to sit with, and K had been glad to put a name to them and to know he wasn’t alone in experiencing them, that you were there to support him. And some were rather more… physical. Thrilling. He was exceptionally glad you were there to help him explore those feelings too.
And sometimes, all these intense and newly tangible feelings combine into a rush of emotions and sensations and it’s the most alive K has ever felt.
This morning, he feels alive, too. And he feels content.
He’d slept as well as ever with you draped over him, his arms resting comfortably around your torso with one hand up in your hair, fingertips stroking soothing circles against your scalp as you fell asleep first and then, as your breathing slowed to a steady snore, he fell too.
He has no intention of rushing to do anything today, or of thinking ahead to what might need to be done. For now, K just wants to enjoy you. He absentmindedly begins to drag those affectionate fingertips in gentle patterns over your skin, unknowingly leaving shivers in their wake.
When you eventually stir against his chest, your fingernails scrape pleasantly at his sides – he feels alive, he thinks again – and you shift yourself to look up at him with a soft smile, he feels his heart beat just a little faster in his chest and his lips curl into a smile, too. He all but stops breathing when, without a word, you pull yourself up to press your lips to his, beginning what feels like a blissful eternity of slow, languid kisses and tender touches.
At some unknown point, his limbs and yours tangle, and your fingers find their way up to comb through his hair, too. You couldn’t be very much closer; K’s whole world spins and reduces to just this bed, just you, and him.
Something else K appreciates more than he could say is how there is so little need for words between the two of you. Especially since you’ve become a regular fixture in his life, he needs you more than he dares to ask. More than he dares to believe he was meant for. He tries not to think about that.
You understand him, you see, and he’s not sure if that’s unusual or not; whether other people in love (another new experience for him that he isn’t entirely sure he fully grasps yet) just get one another like that without a necessity for constant explanations. But he likes it because it only adds to that feeling of home, of being safe, and, he supposes, of being wanted.
When you kiss him, quick and chaste or intense and passionate or somewhere in between, his stomach seems to flip. Butterflies, you’d called it. You’d said it would probably subside over time and to enjoy it while it lasted, but it never did subside. Not yet anyway.
Your current kissing, although never reducing in intensity, slows gradually to an almost stop. In honesty, you’re still sleepy and not yet ready to face the day, but not tired enough to lie completely still either. And you can never resist him with his hair slightly mussed from sleep and that coy but loved up sparkle in his eyes.
Your lips break apart and you find yourselves face to face on one shared pillow that smells like him — lightly industrial like he carries the air of the city with him, a subtle hint of rain, and musk from the heat of your bodies pressed together while you slept. You take a deep breath to savour him while you’re laid here, just feeling one another’s hot breath against your damp, kiss-swollen lips.
K’s eyes slip closed as you lay tangled together and he feels a pang of embarrassment at the familiar heat pooling in his lower belly. He isn’t sure if you intended this to turn into anything more, and whilst he was truly and completely lost in the pure intimacy of it all, sometimes, he finds, he can’t quite control his arousal. You’ve assured him that it’s perfectly normal plenty of times, but he still feels his face heat up each time he recognises the signs.
You press forward and join your lips to his once again, with a little more vigour than before. Still, it’s semi-weightless and playful, and he feels your lips curl into a smirk against his.
He doesn’t close his eyes, just furrows his brow as concern begins to edge into the periphery of his conscience, ready to consume him. His cock stiffens some more against his will, too, and deep down he knows he can’t actually will his erection away. Especially not with you so close and relishing in him the way you do, lavishing him with affection.
You slide your lips to his jaw, and his eyes flick downward, almost suspicious, trying to follow your movements despite being mostly out of his field of vision, but they finally slip shut again when you move lower and suck lightly against the pulse point in his throat while your hand glides down from his shoulder, tingling over his bare arm and dropping to rest on the soft contour of his waist.
You shuffle yourself further down, beneath the duvet, just the top of your head exposed to him now as you circle a nipple with the tip of your tongue and, feeling his otherwise slow and steady breath catch in his chest, you smile up at him from beneath the quilt, biting your lip. Anticipation, and a question. Sheepishly, K nods, and you slide yourself lower still, hearing a quiet little, ‘Oh,’ escape his throat as you disappear beneath the covers.
It’s warm under here, and you feel the pull of sleep tugging at your consciousness, but you’ve no intention of succumbing to it. Instead you push his hips to position him on his back and settle between his thighs. It's an easy manoeuvre; muscle memory by now, but even so he’s trembling slightly, just like the first time. You can picture his face, burning with desire and uncertainty as to why you’d want to do this with him.
As your fingers curl around the elastic of his plain grey underwear, your eyes are drawn to the small luminous patch of blue that’s formed at the tip of his bulge, leaking beautifully through the thin fabric.
You’d never seen a replicants’ cum before K. He'd blushed profusely when you’d praised him for how pretty it was that first time you brought him off with your hand, pulling your sticky, wet palm out of his trousers with delight and awe written all over your face. When he caught his breath he ashamedly told you it’s a substance called Luminescum. A flavourless, harmless lubricant secreted during sexual encounters and ejaculated at the climax. Although all replicants are built with the ability to produce Luminescum, few ever actually use that ability – aside from pleasure models, of course.
You remember that night with a smile, planning to tell him how pretty it is again later. Maybe you’ll see if he’s got more than one orgasm in him this morning so you can stroke him to another release, talk him through his oversensitive pleasure and see that handsome blush colouring his cheeks again as his eyes squeeze shut and his body shakes through another release he doesn’t think he deserves.
But for now you lazily mouth at his length over the fabric in no hurry at all, taking your time just as you had when you’d made out in almost slow motion just minutes ago. And as much as K is on the same wavelength this morning, he can’t stop his hips bucking up in response to your warm tongue, or his breath turning heavy at the thrill running through him, or his cheeks feeling hot at how eager to please him you always are.
Pulling his underwear down, you clean up his pretty neon precum quickly with your tongue. Despite its impressive glow and colour it really does taste of relatively little. Slightly synthetic is the only way you can think to describe it, but you can never get enough all the same, because it’s him.
You hear him whimper as your palm slides down his length, muffled slightly by the duvet, and you feel him searching for you over it, fingers strong enough to tear the fabric if he wanted to. The thought causes a fresh wave of heat to rush to your core. He’s always so gentle when he touches you, so careful and tender, but he can fuck like a rabid animal when you ask for it, too; can make your toes curl with the snapping of his hips and his low growls and possessive, grabbing fingers.
You lick a warm, firm stripe from the base of his cock to the tip, eliciting another thick pump of that impressive blue, and then take him into your mouth, moaning around him as you suck, slow and steady.
K is feeling far from slow and steady above the covers, however, and he’s thankful you can’t see his face from where you are because he’s a mess; hair stuck to his sweaty forehead, cheeks flushed, mouth agape. He's sure you’d tell him he looks beautiful just like you always do, but it doesn’t stop embarrassment making his head spin. And he knows you can hear him gasping and humming and letting out choked little groans which only adds to the heat spreading over his cheeks.
He’s completely lost in a haze of pleasure until your tongue flicks so deliciously over his tip, and again, and again, before swallowing him back down, and as incredibly sensitive to your touch as he usually is, he just can’t hold off any longer.
He feels his muscles begin to tense and his hips, rolling in time with your movements, stutter, and with a desperate whine, he cums, lukewarm neon spilling down your eager throat as he writhes in the blissful agony of his release above you.
Devouring every last drop of his tasteless, harmless, gorgeous Luminescum, you tuck his softening cock back into his stained, glowing underwear with care, joining him back on the pillow where you immediately let out an involuntary moan at how gorgeously fucked out he looks, his palm still poised at his mouth where he’d bitten down on his knuckles at the height of his pleasure.
He averts his gaze when his eyes flutter open, timid under the heat of your gaze, and for the hundredth time you’re glad he’s not a pleasure model, because where would the fun be if he wasn’t so needy and receptive to you?
‘Good morning,’ you mutter sleepily, lips glowing with a tinge of neon blue that makes his heart race.
He simply curls back into the warmth of your embrace without a word, your arms wrapping around him once again.
Safe and warm and sated. Home.
