Kiss Me After Midnight
Rating: Mature Word Count: 773 Tags/Content Warnings: Chuuya X Fem!Reader, Alcohol Consumption, gets a leeeettle spicy, but generally pretty fluffy (unless y'all end up wanting a second part)
A/N: I just... wanna kiss him all the time...
Tumblr media
When it comes to Chuuya’s alcohol tolerance, there is a razor thin margin for error between sober and passed out. And yet, you somehow managed to nail it every time you are the one pouring his drinks, keeping him pleasantly buzzed the whole night, (which couldn’t possibly have anything to do with the fact he was around you.)
On this particular night, he stayed well after his guests had left. The lights in the bar had come on, and you were doing the necessary cleaning and counting that came with this time of the night. You didn’t mind his company, and it was his bar after all. Eventually, you cracked open a drink for yourself, untucking a wadded up bill from your bra and slipping it into the till. (Not that Chuuya would have cared, since it was you.) Its probably what a portion of your tips would have gone to anyway, so you didn’t see the harm.
You plopped down next to Chuuya on one of the long leather club couches, and talked back and forth for what felt like hours, laughing and giggling, working up a buzz of your own.
At one point during the night, you thought you caught his gaze linger just a little too long. The booze dressed your tongue and you decided to press him for it,
“Careful boss, if you look at me like that, I might get the wrong idea…”
“You wouldn’t be wrong.” He said.
The words hung in the air like a drag from a cigarette. You took them in, inhaled them, before you spoke again, “sir?”
The polished leather creaked as he turned to you, and said your name with the weight of a star behind it, “can I kiss you?”
Stunned. You were completely and utterly stunned. You tried to convince yourself the warmth spreading through your cheeks was the alcohol now racing with your blood through your body. His crystal eyes, glossy but clear, fixed on you expectantly. At length you gave a short nod, and Chuuya leaned in.
This was nothing like the drunk kisses you’d been half off before, all teeth and tongue and sticky with flavored vodka and syrup.
This was something else. Something seeking, exploratory, reverent and holy. The tip of his tongue traced your mouth, from your Cupid’s bow to the pout of your bottom lip, he entreated your lips to part. You obliged. He slipped easily past your teeth, running along the roof of your mouth, idling with your own speechless tongue. It was something that rendered your core molten. As soon as he pulled back, you had to blink again, several times, to uncross your eyes, and the only conclusion your spirit and kiss addled brain could cling to was
Jesus fuck he was a good kisser…
This blush had nothing to do with booze. Perhaps what you did next did, or maybe you were caught up in the moment, but you found yourself swinging your leg over your bosses lap to straddle him, and, with what felt like practiced ease, his hands came to rest at the crease of your thighs.
You cupped the sides of his face, breath mingled between you, before you leapt across the gap with what you were sure was your own poor imitation of what he had done to you.
You felt his palms slide up your hips, over your belly, coming to rest on your ribs, thumbs swiping across the pliant flesh of your breasts. Your skin arced despite the dense layers of padding and fabric between you and his touch, and without thought, you ground down against the growing hardness in his lap.
He released your lips with a gasp, deft fingers flying down to grip your hips again.
“We shouldn’t do this….” he said, “You’re drunk.”
“So are you…” you breathed into the narrowing space between the two of you.
“We shouldn’t…” he whispered across the gap.
shouldn’t… Not ‘can’t’, shouldn’t…
A breathless chuckle bubbled up from your belly, and you rested your elbows on his shoulders, arms flung around his neck, over the back of the couch, and pressing your tits oh so enticingly against him.
“Are you sure you’re some big, dangerous mafioso?” You teased, tipping his hat forward over his face.
It was his turn to laugh, flicking his hat up with gloved fingers,
“What’s that supposed to mean?” He grinned.
He looked up at you, his eyes alight with blue flame, hot enough to burn the place down, you both inside, leaving little more than ash.
“Because you’re so sweet it’s embarrassing.” You exhaled, and dove for his lips again.

i have a question due to a thought that has been bouncing around in my head for awhile. do u think that diluc runs warm? when he finishes inside of you do you think he grips the headboard of the bed and only when he lets go of it you catch burn marks on the oak frame. when he tugs at his cock futilely and thinks of you does steam release from his clenched teeth as if he was in some rock of ice rather than the room on the 2nd floor of angel’s share?
doesn’t it make you wonder how hot diluc runs for you?
hrgrhr. hrgrh god the thought of his breath being so hot that it steams when he's fucking his fist to the thought of you. oh my.
not sfw, minors dni. gn reader.
(send me a genshin kink thought/thirst for elucidation and drabbles)
Tumblr media
Diluc's hands on you feel like fire.
You'd thought, at first, that this was simply because you had ascribed such meaning to them; that your crush was so utterly hopeless and all-consuming that every mere brush of his fingers over the back of your own felt as though flames were erupting along your skin. You'd always heard that Pyro users ran warm, but . . . you'd assumed that to mean a few degrees hotter, less likely to run a fever, perhaps with better endurance to those few times a year that - if it were not for the blessing of Barbatos's gentle winds - Monstadt grew almost too hot to do anything within its borders.
As it turns out, this was a misgiving; for Diluc runs hotter than you could ever imagine, and there is nowhere that it is more apparent than when the two of you are overcome with need for one another.
Diluc wore his gloves the first few times he fucked you; bent you over the shabby little bed in the stayover room at Angel's Share and dug his fingers into the plush of your hips, his hips rocking into you as you mewled and whimpered and begged him to go harder as all of your fantasies made themselves yielding, needy flesh. Even then, as his clothed body pressed close to your own back, you'd felt the haze of warmth emanating from him - but you, too, were sweating. You too were pleasantly flushed and needling with heat and hot hot hot all over.
His mouth had been hot, the first time he’d knelt between your thighs and lapped at you with wide, adoring eyes and a hunger that made you feel weak at the knees.  His tongue had felt like liquid fire, but . . . you had merely chalked that up to your own desire. His hands, still gloved, had kept you prostrate for him even as the muscles in them twitched and shuddered and you squirmed in overheated, messy pleasure, covered fingertips digging into soft skin.
You didn't realise why he left his gloves on so often until you surprised him one night in his study wearing nothing but an apron you'd pilfered from the stacks of new laundering when Adelinde wasn't looking.
Your knock had been timid, and Diluc had assumed that you were indeed just one of the quieter maids - and then, you'd stepped into the room clad in almost nothing and breathily said;
"Master Diluc, is there absolutely anything I can assist you with?"
He'd been holding a letter in one hand, clearly just sealed, inspecting it to make sure the address had been properly and clearly written with no margin for error - and then, he'd looked up from the cream parchment and the dark red wax seal and his mouth had fallen open. A soft, choked noise had escaped his throat - his eyes had gone all dark and blown, surprise making his spine grow taut and his posture stiff--
And the letter had smouldered into ash between his bare fingers.
(And although, the next morning, you have to apply cooling ointment to several patches of your bare skin - hips, wrists, inner thighs - you cannot help but think it was worth it, and you make a note to ask Adelinde to ensure that the medicine cabinet’s supply of it never runs low).

as i was saying
cassian andor x gn!reader - part of latch
an: Oh man. this is the first fic i’ve ever written or published. I’ve been reading fic since i was like 13. thank you to the majesty of andor for pushing me over the edge. interaction is welcome. a good song w the vibe of this fic is the title - "as i was saying" by jack johnson. just yearning.
done my absolute best to keep it as gender neutral and descriptionless as possible but let me know if there are slip ups Please. also i saw on the google that cassian's sister is called kerri. idc if thats not canon i think it's cute so i've adopted it here
wc: 2.5k words which i feel insane about. unbeta'd but i read it 5000 times out of pure anxiety.
rating: no warnings, but i’m an 18+ blog so minors? skedaddle. YEARNING. fluff and gentleness and some character exploration and a tiny bit of angst. hand holding 👀👀 and two small mentions of a scar from a burn. no use of y/n.
—————
There is something about Yavin 4 that reminds Cassian of his homeworld. He tries not to consider their similarities too often. He tries not to consider unproductive things at all - there is too much to do, and he is best at his work when he is in perpetual motion.
The air is thicker on Yavin than it was on Kenari. The ancient temples bear no resemblance to the wooden lean-tos and houses he spent those first years of his life in.
But every once in a while, something in the lush green, the smell of the damp soil, the low cry of a whisper-bird will jog Cassian’s memory and render him immobile for a minute.
He tries to remember his sister - Kerri - remembers how tiny she was when she was born, how long her hair grew and how soft it was. He can conjure parts of her in his mind, a glimpse of her big black eyes, the feel of her hand in his. The way her voice sounded when she giggled and called his name. Kassa.
It has been over two decades since he last saw her.
Cassian gives up trying to remember pretty quickly, because a little part of him worries that if he tries too hard to recall her in her entirety, he will force out the few memories he has left. He loved her fiercely and he always will.
But there is work to do.
This morning is not going too badly - He managed to scrounge enough caf from the dregs of two canisters in the kitchen on base. The meeting with Senator Pamlo and General Draven was brief enough, if a little frustrating. He’s leading a training session in a couple hours and has an obscene amount of administrative work to get through, so he starts moving again.
Cassian is looking for K-2 in the east corner of the upper hangar to ask about a 3-rotation-long gap in the travel log when he hears a laugh. It starts soft, musical, then grows into an unabashed cackle. It darts and echoes around the ships in the hangar. Then, in a gleeful voice:
“K, I have a feeling Cassian wouldn’t want you to tell me that.”
He knows that voice. He knows that laugh. Cassian’s steps don’t falter, but it’s a close thing. Something like the burning sensation he felt when he got a little too close to the business end of an X-wing sears through his abdomen. He’s half rifling through his recent memories to figure out what on earth K-2 could be telling you, half trying to think of something unaffected and alluring to say to you once he rounds the corner of this hulking GR-75 that he knows you’ve been working on lately.
“Well, he should stop embarrassing himself on missions.”
Another laugh. “Humans have a margin for error, unlike your faultless programming - don’t hold your breath.”
Cassian speaks as you come into view. “K doesn’t have lungs, so I’m not sure he’d be able to do that anyway.”
You turn and gasp a little – in shock, recognition – and there is a pause, during which Cassian is struck dumb by the joy in your eyes. Then your familiar beaming smile takes over your face, crinkling your nose and half-closing your eyes. You’re crouched down, your coveralls smeared with grease, surrounded by the innards of a shield generator. You wave, and Cassian only just remembers to raise a hand in greeting as he approaches.
“Speak of the man and he shall appear. To what do I owe the pleasure?” You ask, standing up and scrubbing your hands clean with a rag in your pocket.
Cassian runs a hand through his hair so he doesn’t do something embarrassing like reach out and help you up.
“I was looking for K, but it seems like he’s been out ruining my reputation,” he tries instead.
K-2 turns just his head to Cassian, and gestures at him with a hydrospanner he must be holding for you. "You did that yourself. Levels of respect for you are lower than they were last quarter.”
You let out a short bark of a laugh. “What? K, you don’t really keep track of that, do you?”
“Do you want an assessment of the drop in percentages?”
“You’re joking,” you say, incredulous.
“I am not,” K states, but there is a humorous lilt in his artificial voice.
Cassian huffs. “K-2 -”
“My strength is data, Cassian, it would be wise not to interrupt-“
“Nevermind that – what was he telling you?”
There is a mischievous glint in your eyes. “Just a little something about a faux-pas with a Chiss contact.”
Cassian and K-2 have an intense, eye-contact based silent conversation, which is impressive for a man with a considerable poker face and a droid with lightbulbs for eyes.
Cassian loses. He looks over at you and your grease-stained hands. He meets your eyes. They’re still bright, somehow, in this overcast weather.
Maybe not such a loss, then.
“How was I supposed to know a handshake was too intimate for greeting a stranger?”
You raise your eyebrows. “You could have researched. Unless you think you’re above that, Captain Andor?”
Cassian flails and can’t find anything interesting to respond with. A silence stretches out between you.
You start to shrink back into yourself, and you fiddle with the fastenings of your coveralls. It’s clear you feel you’ve overstepped. “Sorry. I’m just giving you a hard time. It’s an honest mistake; my brother made a similar one when we were growing up.”
This is one of the many things about you that Cassian cannot understand, but feels honoured to experience. You give information about yourself, your past, your feelings quite freely. Cassian desperately wishes he could have the same openness with you. He wants, more than most things, for you to know him.
But he has lost too many people by getting personal, and there is work to do.
You interpret his silence for a lack of interest, and begin to turn away. “Sorry, Captain, I got carried away. You looked like you were on a mission. Did you need to speak to K-2?”
You’re closing up before his eyes, and he hates it. Hates being responsible for dimming the light that radiates out of you.
“No! Please, I have nowhere to be until 1300. What did your brother do?”
There’s a tiny grateful smile playing on your lips.
“You’re sure?”
“Yes. K, can you write the secondary report for that recon trip to Kijimi last week? General Draven wanted to see it.”
It’s a transparent ploy to get you alone, but it seems that K-2 is feeling lenient. He places the hydrospanner he was holding for you on the wing of the GR-75 and leaves without embarrassing Cassian any further.
You sit down on an empty crate and pat a box opposite you. Cassian sits, and his brain alerts him to the fact that if he moved a little, his and your knees would touch.
“So, my brother. We grew up in a fairly reclusive… tribe? Village? A small community, and, turns out, a pretty distinct culture from other parts of the world.”
“You grew up on Onderon, right?”
You look thrilled that Cassian remembers. He can’t help but smile.
“Yes! Anyway, we have this way of greeting, this gesture that is completely normal to us. It’s a sign of deep respect. One day, we head into civilisation for a meeting between a bunch of villages in our hemisphere. None of us get along, plus it’s wartime, so it’s really tense. The chairperson for the meeting is this beautiful, statuesque woman. My brother decides then and there that he just has to meet her, so he runs up to the chairperson in the middle of this very important meeting, takes her hand and does our greeting.
“In our culture? Perfectly acceptable, if badly timed. In her culture, leaders like her are not to be touched on ceremonial days like that. They do special rituals beforehand to prepare people to speak for their village. She had to step down for the day. Not to mention my brother was seen to be raised poorly because of his tactlessness, which reflected terribly on our community as a whole. We got kicked out. He got the scolding of his life when we got home, but he talked about how amazing she was for days after.”
You grin - there is pain in recalling the memory, but Cassian feels the joy in your voice as you recount it. He laughs, and it surprises him.
He remembers the early days of living with Maarva and Clem, the language barrier. The quotidian things Cassian had to learn to keep up in Ferrix, like comms, or how to electronically lock the door. It was hard; the loss of Kerri was still fresh, he missed his home like a lung. But there were glimpses - the exasperated fondness in Clem’s eyes when he patched Cassian up after a tussle with a neighbour, Maarva’s wink when she’d sneak him sweets behind Clem’s back, the first time Bix smiled at him.
He wants to tell you these things. He wants you to know him.
Instead, he takes a steadying breath and asks, “How old were you both?”
Your head tilts upwards as you try to remember, and Cassian is entranced by the curve of your neck.
“Oh, he would have been seven, or eight? Old enough to know better. I was four, I think.”
“What’s the custom? What could possibly deserve that punishment?”
You stare at a smudge on the leg of your coveralls, and shrug. “It’s nothing ridiculous, it’s just… relatively intimate.”
Cassian can’t form any response to that. You look into his eyes. Then your eyes slowly travel down his neck, shoulders, and arms, until they stop at his hands that are folded in his lap. He burns under your intent gaze.
“Turn to me. Give me your hand.”
Cassian swivels, your knees touch his. He gingerly offers his left hand, palm facing down. You take it in both of yours. You close your eyes.
Cassian feels like he is falling through space as you move his hand up to your forehead. The heel of his hand fits in the top of the bridge of your nose perfectly. Then you move his hand down, so the tip of your nose touches the bottom of his palm. Then, with a hint of a smile, you move the heel of his hand to your lips, and press a long, chaste kiss to his calloused skin. Your eyebrows furrow a little. Finally, you bring his three middle fingers to your lips, and kiss them too.
You open your eyes and gaze into his. You bow your head, maintaining eye contact, then you place his hand back on his thigh.
Cassian feels like his face is about the temperature of the Yavin system’s sun. He can hear his heartbeat pounding in his ears. He stares at you, dumbfounded.
You snake your arms around your abdomen and tuck your chin into your shoulder. You’re not looking at him anymore. “So…Yep. That’s the…that’s how we greet people.”
You uncross your arms and pick at your fingernails, staring resolutely at the dusty ground. The sun peeks out from the overcast sky, and casts a shadow of your eyelashes onto your cheek. He knows he should say something; make sure you know you shouldn’t be embarrassed, but he's paralysed by how much he wants you to do it again.
The clouds roll in again, and the shadow on your cheek is gone.
You shift - his silence has made you self-conscious again. You flash him a quick apologetic smile, stand up, and start moving back to your work.
Cassian lunges forward and grabs your hand. You turn around, eyes wide. He hopes you can’t feel his racing pulse. He pulls you toward him gently, puts your hand in both of his. He studies it, the callouses where your palm meets each of your fingers, the scar that curls around your index and middle fingers.
“How did you get this?” He murmurs.
You breathe in like you’ve been winded. “What?”
“This scar. How did you get it?”
Your hand is shaking just slightly as you answer back quietly, “I dropped an arc welder last year. Instinctively tried to catch it with my other hand. Didn’t go too well.”
Before he can come to his senses, Cassian moves your hand to his forehead and closes his eyes. He presses the heel of your palm to the bridge and then the tip of his nose. He stops, opens his eyes and looks up. You’re looking at him with an intensity he wouldn’t be able to name if he tried. He stays looking at you, watching for any sign of discomfort. He doesn’t see any, so he presses a gentle kiss to your palm. He stays there and closes his eyes again, inhales the scent of metal, sweat, and engine oil. It’s not particularly pleasant, it isn’t like the flowers that bloom every once in a while deep in Yavin’s forests, but it’s you, and that’s all Cassian wants.
He hums and moves your fingers to his lips, where he kisses the scars on your fingers. Your breath hitches, barely audible.
He looks into your eyes, bows his head, and lets go of your hand. Your hand stays suspended in the air while you stare at it.
“I-”
“You-”
You wring your hands together. “Sorry. You talk.”
Cassian stands, and realises a second too late that he is very much in your personal space. Your noses almost touch. He takes a step back, and the moment you both just inhabited has gone. His mind is moving more coherently, at the cost of his chest feeling hollow.
“You said it was a sign of respect. I wanted to - ah. Just…thank you for telling me. About your brother.”
You smile politely; a little shyer than before. “I - I’m sure you’re busy. I’m sorry for rambling. But thank you for listening. And for… I haven’t been greeted in that way in a long time. So. Thank you.”
You start to dart around, grabbing tools, looking haphazardly for parts. You avoid looking at Cassian altogether.
He wants to go back to fifteen seconds ago, when he held your hand in his. When there was some warm, open thing flowing between the two of you, whatever it was. As you sidle past Cassian to reach a servodriver, he gently places his hand on your shoulder.
“Don’t apologise. Please. It’s… it was nice.”
You smile timidly, and nod. “Alright.”
Cassian drops his hand. You start moving. “I should get back to work.”
Cassian clears his throat. “Me too.”
Neither of you move.
You smile at the ground, laugh quietly. There is something whimsical in your lack of subtlety. Cassian chuckles as well. You make eye contact and giggle for a couple seconds like you're sharing an inside joke. It subsides, and you stand in silence.
You wave at him, awkwardly, because he's still standing quite close to you.
“I’ll see you around, Cass.”
Cassian’s heart soars, but he manages to respond with a breezy “See you.”
As he walks away, Cassian hears you humming some song he doesn’t recognise.
I’ll see you around, Cass.
For now, there is work to do. Cassian feels that he might just have the energy to do it.
He thinks he’ll tell you about Maarva next time.

Hi!! for "yet another writing ask": 12, 21, and 36?
hiiii ♥️
12. If you write in more than one language, what’s the difference?
well. writing in spanish is easier and i'm faster. i think i'm also a better writer, though i feel like the distance between what i can do in english and in spanish is growing shorter the more i practice (DUH).
another difference is that i feel taht while english as a language is slightly more plastic because of the way it works (i love how you can "verb" pretty much anything, for example), spanish has more potential when it comes to describing stuff and making it stick.
21. Can you accurately predict how long your fics are going to be? If you can, what’s your secret?
yeah! not always, but that's usually me being in denial. i usually outline longer stuff because my brain needs the structure. so it kind of goes like this:
no outline -> short-ish fic, probably under 5k. might get to 10k, but it doesn't usually happen.
outline -> over 10k For Sure. i usually make a list of scenes and/or chapters, and each scene is usually 1-2k, each chapter being at least 5k words long.
this means that while sometimes things get out of hand, i usually can guess at how long something will be before i finish it, and i usually get it right (there's a 1-2k error margin)
36. How do you come up with fic titles? What’s the one you’re most proud of?
it depends! sometimes i do what everyone else does and i borrow something from a song or a poem. for my long something-inspired AUs i usually use something from the original work i'm playing with (a room with a view is from the e m forster's novel, and half-agony, half-hope is from austen's persuasion).
but i'm ngl the ones i like best are the ones that i come up with on my own? they usually reflect something about the story (its theme, etc). i really really love the vanishing summer, proof of life, death and a kindness, and the one from my next long fic (i haven't started writing it yet but it already has a title i love, so that's a good sign lmao) (the title is the shortest night and it's going to be a kenfetti horror fic. i give it around 50k) (famous last words)

I freaked one of the floor nurses out at work today by means of growing up In Da Nort, Yanno.
I was coming back from moving my car out of the back 40, and had just basically ran out there in a gap between people to triage, so just in my scrubs, and they were headed out to their car.
Them: "Girl it is freezing out here what are you doing out here without a coat?!"
Me: "eh, it's probably mid 50s, low 50 to high 40s with that wind. Hardly freezing!"
Them: "no, it's gotta be colder than that." (Looks at wrist, presumably at smartwatch) (looks at me incredulously) "it's 53 degrees, 48 realfeel."
Me: *shrugs* "within margin of error, at least"
Them: "you had to have looked that up before."
Me: "nah. Take a breath through your nose, take a deep breath through your mouth, notice how bare skin feels, extrapolate from there. Skin's quite chilly despite walking a bit, but no coughing from a deep breath and no sharpness in the nose breathing in, so it's definitely above freezing, but below 60 bc that's decent t-shirt walking weather. It's a little breezy, take a couple degrees off for that."
Them: ...
Them: "That is the worst thing i've heard all day. Where are you from? I'm sure it's...nice? I never want to go there."

natalie dormer, cis woman, she/her, 39 — dear all nations, DOROTHEA HȦKANSDOTTER has crossed the city borders to edinburgh to the sound of NFWMB by HOZIER. the QUEEN of SWEDEN is known to be IN FAVOR OF making peace. SHE reminds me of THE CURVE OF THE LIPS AS A MOUTH FORMS A GRIN and AN UNENDING FIRE FUELING ONES AMBITION however did you know that SHE HAS ALWAYS THOUGHT OF HERSELF AS DESTINED FOR GREATNESS AND WILL DO ALL SHE CAN TO ACHIEVE IT?
Tumblr media
As a child you are half wild. You run freely, coming home with muddy hems and scrapes on your palms that only cause your mother to scold you. By your adolecense you have learned to turn her out. She is bitter, you think, and your father spineless to her. She rules his estate with an iron fist, counting every last krona, tallying the price of each seed the farmers planted in the fields. There’s always enough money to go around, always enough for a new bolt of silk when she sees fit.
Mothers and daughters- it is a tale as old as time itself. The constant push and pull, give and take. You love your mother, you hate your mother. She is everything you will be and nothing you wish to be.
She raises you to be a lady- you fight it for years. You steal books, return them with notes in the margins, pages missing, dirt on the spine. Each time you are scolded you claim innocence, pointing to your brother. Each time your mother sees through it.
You are nearing your sixteenth year when you notice it. There is power in a woman's smile, in the bat of her eyes, the way she walks. That's when you begin to understand your mother's lessons. Men, she has told you, may find their power in swords and blood but women must find other ways.
You grow out of the coltish gait of girlhood, you become poised as you learn courtesy, you study the women around you. You hold your head high, you walk straight, you curtsy low.
The time comes, after years and years- all that reading, all that watching, the games of court, it all put to the test. Whispers become real.
You make sure there is a plan, and a fall back plain, every single thing accounted for- you will win or you will die, and all you care for will be put to the sword as well. There is no time for error. No time for cowardice.
It works- your husband becomes king, you beside him as his queen. There is no guilt for the bloodshed, no doubt that this is what was meant to be. You have always been destined for great things.

FAQ: Who is The Colonel?
Tumblr media
If you've been on the main blog page and not just mobile, I'm sure you've seen the banner up top as well as the blog description, which leads to the obvious question:
Who is The Colonel, exactly?
Well, he's the architect, to a great degree, behind the polycule I RP, and the only character that I write that isn't actually my own.
TLDR: I RP as Jade Curtiss from Tales of the Abyss (a once-popular JRPG from the Tales Of series). There's a lot of odd magic things in his setting that ultimately mess with the fabric of reality, so I don't think that it's a stretch to say it's possible for him to be dropoped somewhere on another plane if someone fucks with magic in just the right way.
With that said, his personal plot is deeply involved with his desire to go "back home" and survive in the universe he's landed himself in long enough to do so. He's done a good job of the latter, but so far, nothing he's researched has worked... well, not yet at least.
While Jade does have a playful side, it's usually to keep others at bay. Underneath the facade of social versatility lies a man whose trust is hard-won. Although he has painstakingly learned the value of others inhabiting the world alongside him, that doesn't mean he has to lie to himself about how competent they typically are. He is the sort of person whom many consider to be their friend, but does not consider many others to be his friend in turn.
Thus, the Garden.
As much as he would like to be an isolationist, that's no way to live. it's not conducive to good mental health, and if he grows to be unable to trust his own mind while he's working towards his goals, all would be lost (so far as he's concerned, anyway).
This blog is called "Smooth Geometry" because the members of the polycule jokingly refer to their group as "The Circle", a play on the phrase "circle of friends". But Jade prefers to think of them as either a petri dish (a "successful" experiment of his own design), or a garden.
The fact is that he vetted and put each of them through the ringer to ...mold them, in a sense. To direct their growth.
Jade would rather not make new friends unintentionally, and having this group satisfy his social (or other) needs severely limits the amount of bullshit or unexpected drama he has to handle. My personal headcanon is that he most certainly is a person with anti-social personality disorder; he's made his mistakes regarding socializing in the past, and gotten to the point where he's figured things out. His coping mechanisms are set, and they aren't the most destructive they could be. Having a specific group of people that he's emotionally involved in both reduces the outside drama he has to invest in (becaues he can't completely avoid it, lol), and gives him a controlled environment within which to indulge in his emotions so far as his personal interest.
Jade was able to make friends even in his source canon, after all. He has a clear grasp for interactions with others and what they entail/what others expect. Trial and error pay off, sometimes!
Anyways, he's gone through quite a bit, and suffered quite a bit more once arriving in this universe during The Great Reveal. He's a soldier and a survivor though, and has plenty of tools in his arsenal, and thus was able to build himself into a cushier life than most. Jade has in fact made a comfortable space for himself here, but that doesn't mean he's given up on potentially getting back home.
The Circle, his polycule, is full of people he loves (or would like to grow to love) in one way or another, but his priorities are still set neatly in order. They are quite carefully picked and cultivated flowers, so far as he's concerned, and he's managed to arrange (or is in the process of arranging) his garden into a peaceful place for himself, bloom by bloom. Jade would never argue that he's a good man, ever, but he can be a consistent partner if nothing else; that's better than most others by a wide margin, he thinks. Does he deserve it? Likely not. But he worked/is working hard to get these people and relationships in juuuuust the right places, and he's going to enjoy the convenience of that as he pleases.

I have come to the following conclusion:
I am not allowed to estimate the length of any of my LiuShen fanfics. I seem to be literally incapable of it.
Even my four seasons story (Hundred Winters Grove) almost became more than four chapters, because I could not help myself. It did become something like double the estimated word count. And this was after I had originally thought I might be able to contain it in a single longish oneshot.
I'm normally fairly good at estimating how long a story will be, did you know? Sure, there's a margin of error either way, but I usually have a fairly good guess a chapter or two in, and that margin of error shrinks with each chapter.
LiuShen? It does the opposite.
(Behind the cut I try to rant entertainingly about my current project.)
This is what it's been like for The Guardian Ghost and the Bookish Fairy so far.
Original thought: How about a 4+1 oneshot of a ghost Liu Qingge protecting Shen Qingqiu? Here is a list of the four times he can protect SQQ. Okay, no, 5. Because that'd be funny. Okay, a 5+1 longish oneshot for my fake birthday! Perfect! I'll just skate quickly across the scenes and focus on the funny, cute, or romantic moments and done. Gosh, having this list is going to make it so much easier!
Next: No, it's taken over 1.5k words to just for Liu Qingge's qi deviation scene. We're looking at a multi-chapter for sure. Three chapters, then? Friendly thoughts (since he knows it's not the original SQQ), then attraction, and then resolution? Okay, I'll just map out the chapters for that and... outline complete. Now I may resume writing.
Then: This chapter is running a little long. I'll break this one into two parts. So it'll be four chapters. That'll cover the entirety of August, which is great, TBH. I should have a good idea of where I am in Cultivate by the time the last chapter posts.
Yesterday: ...how is my outline now at six chapters? How. I am running out of ways to title the chapters since my previous systems have broken. FFS, whatever, as long as it's vaguely the right idea go for it. At this rate, I'm going to have to add the tag "slow burn" to my tags draft. I refuse to tag this 5+1 because that idea is dead by now. Everything is out of control. Characters who were basically meant to be walk-on roles have entire scenes now. Everything is on fire. Dogs and cats living together - MASS HYSTERIA.
...on the plus side, I'm enjoying the story.
It's not nearly as funny as intended (scenes originally intended to be less than 500 words to reach a punchline are now treated more seriously or altered to be more than a goof), but it has its moments.
And, as I said, characters meant to be walk-on roles the equivalent of Guard 3 now have scenes.
Luo Binghe now merits his own tag mentions (Gray Lotus Luò Bīnghé & No Vinegar - just to confirm that he's not a bitter love rival in this fic... though maybe 'No Vinegar' isn't entirely accurate, just it's not Binghe who suffers from it). Shang Qinghua has the biggest role in this fic than he has in any of my fics so far. Perhaps put together. He'll go in the characters list. Liu Mingyan may also merit being tagged in the characters list...
TBH, it's a much better fic for it, but I despair of myself. This is exactly why Cultivate will be a monster. (But probably a monster that will get me chapters to post all through November while I do NaNoWriMo for a different story.)
I'm not in as much pain so I've been able to spend more time at the keyboard, which is useful because the wordcount keeps growing and the deadline moves ever-closer. And I do hate posting fics where I haven't finished them first. I'm currently on-track to finish the story by the end of the month, but possibly only if I continue to write ~3.5k+ a day this weekend. (At least I still have a week between the end of the month and posting day, just in case.)
PS: The scene that justified the Grey Lotus Binghe tag? I'm rather sad readers have to wait for that one.

Behind the Umbrellas: Marginality as Joyful Resistance
Final Queer Video
When we first talked about the video project, I thought of Parasol Patrol, a non-profit founded by Eli Bazan and Pasha Ripley in 2019. I wanted to show how Parasol Patrol creates a queer space in the midst of a visual culture filled with hate and violence aimed at LGBTQ children. The Barker and Scheele (2016) graphic novel informed my goals.
1. I wanted to show one type of queer activism (p. 51). As queer people of color, Eli and Pasha are uniquely able to address the threats facing queer children, including queer children of color.
2. Barker and Scheele describe “how queer theory has engaged with popular culture…” (p. 6) and given the increasingly violent actions directed at trans people and at drag events, I wanted to show how a local organization could resist the hate targeting LGBTQ folx.
3. Barker and Scheele say, “Queer activism is a form of sexuality/gender activism that opposes assimilationist agendas of trying to show how ‘normal’ LG(BT) people are. Instead it celebrates difference and diversity…” (p. 15). Pasha often says, “We’re here because of the hate groups. We’re not here for them.” Parasol Patrol carves out a space in the midst of violent hate that doesn’t try to change LGBTQIA children—it celebrates them. I wanted to show this joy.
4. Most importantly, I wanted to make queer media about queer people. So I focused on how Parasol Patrol creates space for youth to grow into powerful adults. Parasol is really about queer elders modeling community care for queer youth. This is our genealogy and I want to document it.
5. As a secondary goal, I wanted to create something Parasol Patrol can potentially use in its marketing because yay capitalism and the Nonprofit Industrial Complex.
I had good access to Eli, Pasha, and the rest of the Parasol Patrol regulars. I’ve been a Patroller since their 3rd month, so I knew getting footage and photos wouldn’t be a problem. I also felt pretty sure I could show the change in atmosphere when participants move from the hate group side of the venue to the protected queer-friendly side behind the umbrellas. I questioned how much of the hate I should show, and I’m still not sure I balanced that right.
I had some other problems. I’ve never made a movie, so in terms of technology, I started at zero. Mia provided some helpful guidance, and the links on the module helped with editing. I also tend to be pretty wordy (ha!) so my first proposal was enormous. I needed to cut the scope down.
I had some tech issues, all user error, but I finally got a first rough draft posted. Moss watched it before I submitted it to Canvas. Their feedback basically boiled down to “what does Parasol Patrol even do?” but said in a very nice way. I reworked the intro, but after submitting the 2nd version, I still needed to clarify some things, rethink some quotes, and work on my ever-lagging tech skills (note to self: film in landscape next time). This is when I added voice over, bullying my husband into being the narrator. He agreed because he’s scared of me I think.
Unique helped me figure out how to script something that made sense without having to redo the whole video. She answered tech questions. She also gave me snacks and tea, both of which gave me enough energy to work on the video when the cold hit.
I sent the 3rd draft to Mia, she gave more feedback, and I changed roughly 1/3 of the video. I also added some different images about recent events.
While the assignment was for a 5 minute video, mine goes over that. The credits begin at 5 minutes 25 seconds, so that’s where the for-a-grade project ends. But. Because I wanted Parasol to be able to use the video, and because I adore the owner of Second Star to the Right Bookstore (she always gives us food when we patrol there), I added a Marvel-Studios style post credit clip. Honestly, in my eyes, Eli and Pasha and the rest of the patrollers are superheroes, and Dea has been a long-time knowledge-keeper and child-protector, so it seems very apropos.

Verbal Messages in Mexico
The official language of Mexico is Spanish, with around 93.8% of the Mexican population speaking only Spanish and around 5% also speaking an indigenous language (Statista). The most used indigenous languages are Nahuatl and Maya which are endangered because of the marginalization of indigenous groups.
Lingua franca refers to any language that is widely used to communicate among speakers of other languages (Dictionary). Using English as a lingua franca in Mexico will allow you to communicate effectively but only in certain areas. Overall, not a lot of Mexicans speak English with only 12% understanding it and 4% being fluent (How Widely Spoken). For those who are only visiting tourist areas, speaking only English is not likely to cause any communication issues as this is where most English-speaking Mexicans are located. For those who journey outside of tourist or widely populated areas, speaking Spanish to some degree is likely to go a long way as the locals might not understand you. Traveling with an interpreter is also an option to ensure that few misunderstandings take place.
I know quite a few common Spanish phrases. I think a wide range of Americans have been exposed to some commonly used Spanish terms whether it be from movies, media, or hearing people around you speak the language. I am also learning Spanish on a popular language-learning app and find it more efficient than the 3 years I studied it in high school. Knowing these words and several others before you go to Mexico is very important because if an emergency should arise, you would be able to communicate to the majority of the population what you need. Another major reason is to show respect. If you are visiting Mexico and are able to introduce yourself in Spanish I am sure it will come off polite or at least humorous if your pronunciation is off. If someone comes up to you speaking Spanish, being able to say you don’t understand them in their language is a quick way of ensuring they know you don’t speak the language. They might switch over to English and communicate using whatever vocabulary they know. Just knowing a few phrases and words used by the country you are visiting is essential is ensuring your safety and demonstrating cultural competence.
As technology advances so do the methods in which we interpret different languages. I tested Google Translate as a method with a short story written in Spanish called El pájaro y la ballena (The Bird and The Whale). The translation of this story was impressive. The only error I noticed was with gender pronouns as they referred to the whale with both she/he. It might be an easy children’s story, and a very beautiful one, still I was surprised that it translated so well because when I would use Google Translate during my Spanish course it would have a completely different answer from what was written in our books. Many translation technologies have their errors, but I think they serve a meaningful purpose in building a bridge across cultures.
I loved learning about how language influences our view of reality. As someone who has recently realized they know very little about other cultures, this idea adds on another layer to understanding another worldview. A quote from the textbook that stood out to me was that “worlds in which different societies live are distinct worlds, not merely the same world with different labels attached” (Samovar, 2017). When I first read this, I imagined every country as its own planet. When we visit these places, even if we know the language and cultural customs, the way in which its citizens think and perceive reality is inherently different from our own views. I love studying psychology and attempting to grasp why people behave the way they do. To ponder the idea that billions of other people on this planet experience emotions and thoughts differently from what I have learned is eye-opening on a deeply personal level. I hope to grow in knowledge of this concept and eventually learn another language to possess another soul.

Grow Your Own Organic Vegetables Easily And Affordably
Welcome to the wonderful world of organic gardening! Whether you have a backyard, a balcony, or just a sunny windowsill, growing your own vegetables organically is not only a rewarding hobby but also a sustainable and cost-effective way to ensure a fresh supply of nutritious produce. In this article, we will take you through the essential steps and tips to help you become a successful organic gardener without breaking the bank.
1. Start Small, Dream Big
Before you dig up your entire backyard in a fit of enthusiasm, it's important to start small and gradually expand your garden. Begin with a few easy-to-grow vegetables like tomatoes, lettuce, or herbs. This way, you can learn the basics of organic gardening without overwhelming yourself.
Remember, Rome wasn't built in a day, and your flourishing vegetable garden won't be either. Gardening is a journey of trial and error, so embrace the process and enjoy the lessons it teaches you.
2. Choose Your Spot Wisely
When it comes to gardening, location is everything. Look for a spot in your yard or balcony that receives at least six hours of direct sunlight daily. Vegetables need sunlight to grow and thrive, so ensure your chosen area isn't blocked by tall buildings or trees.
Additionally, make sure the soil in your selected spot is well-draining and rich in organic matter. You can improve soil quality by adding compost, leaf mulch, or well-rotted manure. Remember, healthy soil equals healthy plants!
3. Embrace Nature's Pest Control
One of the main advantages of organic gardening is avoiding the use of harmful pesticides. Instead, encourage beneficial insects like ladybugs, bees, and praying mantises, which naturally control pests in your garden. Consider planting flowers like marigolds and lavender that attract these insect allies.
If pests still become an issue, try making natural pest repellents from ingredients like garlic, neem oil, or hot pepper spray. Plus, don't forget the power of handpicking unwanted visitors!
4. Water Wisely, Not Wastefully
Water is crucial for the growth of your vegetables, but it's important to use it wisely. Instead of overhead watering, which can encourage diseases, opt for drip irrigation or a soaker hose to provide water directly to the plants' roots.
Another great way to conserve water is by collecting rainwater in barrels or using greywater from your home. Not only will this help the environment, but it will also save you money on your water bill.
5. Compost, Compost, Compost
Composting is the lifeblood of organic gardening. It not only reduces kitchen waste but also creates nutrient-rich soil for your plants. Start a compost bin or pile in your garden by adding fruit and vegetable scraps, coffee grounds, leaves, and yard trimmings. Avoid adding meat, dairy, or oily products, as they can attract pests.
Regularly turning and watering your compost will speed up the decomposition process. Before you know it, you'll have black gold – a nutrient-dense compost – to feed your hungry veggies!
6. Get Creative with Containers
If you lack garden space, don't fret! Container gardening is a fantastic alternative that allows you to grow vegetables in pots, buckets, or even old tires. Be sure to choose containers with drainage holes and fill them with a high-quality organic potting mix.
Experiment with vertical gardening by using trellises or hanging baskets to save space and maximize your harvest. You'll be amazed at the variety of vegetables that can thrive in containers, from cherry tomatoes to peppers and even small root crops like carrots.
7. Share the Gardening Love
Organic gardening is not just about growing food – it's also about building a community. Share your gardening knowledge, surplus produce, and seeds with friends, neighbors, or local gardening groups. Not only will you make new connections, but you'll also contribute to the collective effort of promoting sustainable, healthy living.
Additionally, don't forget to involve children in the process. Gardening is a fantastic way to educate kids about where food comes from and instill a love for nature and the environment.
8. Enjoy the Fruits (and Vegetables) of Your Labor
As your plants grow and flourish, be sure to take a moment to appreciate the beauty and satisfaction of organic gardening. Harvest your vegetables when they are ripe, and don't be afraid to experiment with new recipes using your homegrown produce.
Remember, organic gardening is a journey, and each season brings new challenges and discoveries. Keep learning, stay curious, and enjoy the endless benefits of growing your own organic vegetables – it's an adventure that will nourish both your body and soul!
The Final Seedling of Wisdom
So, dear aspiring organic gardener, it's time to grab your gardening gloves, put on your sun hat, and dig into the world of organic vegetable gardening. Starting small, choosing the right location, embracing nature, conserving water, composting, container gardening, sharing, and enjoying the fruits of your labor are all essential steps on this green journey.
Remember, growing your own organic vegetables is not only about saving money or having a bountiful harvest – it's also about connecting with nature, being mindful of what you consume, and promoting a healthier planet.
So go forth, sow the seeds of change, and watch your garden blossom – both literally and metaphorically!

4 Signs Start-Ups and Small Businesses Require an Outsourced CFO
One of the most crucial activities, business finance management, if done efficiently, immensely contributes to the growth of a business. Incorrect financial inputs on quantities, costs, margins, inventory, cash flows etc. can adversely influence a company’s market share, access to the capital and eventually the profitability of the business. Hence, a company must have skilled and experienced business finance management executives, who can proficiently keep a track of all its finances and prepare error-free financial statements, which are a reliable source of information for investors, creditors, lenders, and other stakeholders. Besides, strategic financial planning helps businesses to ensure their expediency and the right allocation of funds by providing a clear idea of what they are currently doing and where they are headed towards. Imperative for any type of business, appropriate finance management helps entrepreneurs to decipher the growth opportunities and threats, and take expansion decisions accordingly. But, for small businesses or start-ups, which are often tight on budget, hiring in-house finance executives and CFOs (Chief Financial Officers) generally turns out to be expensive. Hence, many small to medium-sized companies and start-ups prefer to outsource their finance-related activities to third-party finance management agencies or an individual external finance expert, commonly known as ‘outsourced CFO’, with high experience level and qualification, rather than hiring a full-time in-house CFO. But, how to understand when is the right time to get an outsourced CFO? 4 Signs a business requires an outsourced CFO: It is unable to record accurate financial data on time. A business generally has multiple bills to pay. Hence, in-house finance executives or start-ups or small business owners with inadequate experience in finance management often make mistakes while recording copious finance data. As inaccurate data doesn’t give a clear idea of the current financial condition of a business, entrepreneurs usually find it difficult to make any emergency purchase decision, even if they need to urgently buy new equipment. This is because they cannot figure out how the sudden capital outlay might affect the coming month’s cash flow. An outsourced CFO makes sure the recorded data is accurate and the financial statements are provided on time. As a result, the outsourcers can make confident financial decisions, without being worried about cash flow issues. It is facing cash flow issues. In the case of start-ups and small businesses, generally, the owners manage to create cash flow projections and budgets single handedly, in the initial phase. But, as a business grows and the supply chain gets erratic, various unanticipated variables often pop up and put the company in financial turmoil. The rapid growth of a company signifies that it is experiencing high demand for its products or services. But this increased demand often leads to operational inefficiency, which requires a huge amount to get fixed. As a result, the company faces a cash flow crunch to meet the growing market demand. An outsourced CFO, due to its expertise in finance management, can effortlessly tackle such a situation by keeping a track of the cash inflow and outflow of the business. This allows the outsourcer to efficiently handle the growth phase without worrying about cash flow issues. It is unable to integrate financial inputs with the business plan. Financial data immensely help business owners to understand their current financial situations and accurately forecast their growth in the coming years. Hence, it is quite crucial for strategic business plans to include metrics and definitive financial data to precisely explain the vision of the company. As business strategies are often about calculated resource allocation, financial inputs are imperative. Hence, companies, especially start- ups, which do not have ample funds to hire an experienced and highly-qualified in- house finance manager, get an outsourced CFO, who can provide them with all the necessary metrics. It does not have enough funds to update its outdated accounting practices. With the rapid advancement of technology, accounting practices are also getting amended. The advent of cloud-based accounting makes sure the one using it is compliant with all the legal and industry requirements. However, switching to the latest accounting practice and buying software often turns out to be expensive for small companies. But outsourced CFOs are often equipped with cutting-edge software and updated on the latest accounting practice.

Battle Ships Round 4 Results
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pie charts
94 votes! You guys are awesome!
Let's dive deeper into the results below
Once again, here's a breakdown of votes by favorite ship.
NOTE: When I say “[SHIP NAME] shippers” or “[SHIP NAME] fans”, I refer to the people who took part in this specific round and chose [SHIP NAME] as their favorite ship.
Firstly, I wanted to comment on how active Rayllum shippers were this round! 47 people or half of total voters!
Tumblr media
There were more Ruthari shippers, too (14), yet Viravos and Janaya numbers doesn't seem to grow. Also, 4 Virrow shippers and 3 Claaravos.
Tumblr media
No surprises here.
Tumblr media
Some Rayllum fans, understandably, found it hard to choose between two faves, while most other shippers seem to prefer Ruthari. Although some Viravos and Janaya shippers do like both ships.
Tumblr media
I expected Harrai to win but not by this much! Admittedly, there's a number of people who like both ships but in this fandom canon ships always always win against noncanon ones, which we can see depicted in the table below:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Another expected result with unexpected proportions. Clauderry seemed like an popular newcomer among canon ships. However, Janaya is part of the big three and has had a much larger impact on the fandom as a whole over the years.
Tumblr media
It's interesting how proportionally, Viravos shippers seem the most likely to pick Clauderry. What I mean is, it was picked by 12% of Rayllum shippers, 14% of Ruthari shippers and 23% of Viravos shippers. I'm not counting Virrow shippers because their margin of error is 49%. It's possible than while many shippers like Clauderry, Janaya is still many people's favorite, especially when it comes to Rayllum and Ruthari shippers. More Rayllum shippers chose the "I like both" when their own ship went against Ruthari than they did here, when Clauderry went against Janaya. Claaravos shippers are known to vote against rival ships.
Tumblr media
I'll be honest, I didn't know who would win, since both are canon background ships, but I guess Lain and Tiadrin are Rayla's parents (and still alive). Notice how we get the biggest number of people who voted "I don't care" so far this round. In fact, it's going to be the second biggest.
Tumblr media
Virrow shippers seem to be the only ones preferring the Queens of Duren, while Viravos and Janaya shippers don't show a strong preference either way. Ruthari shippers' votes absolutely make sense since Rutahri and Laidrin are friends. So do the Rayllum shippers' votes.
Tumblr media
After Viravos lost to Corpeli by a hair split last round, I was sure we'd see a closer match between Viravos and Grazi. However, it seems Grazi isn't as popular. In addition, a quarter of people either don't care about either ship ir don't like them altogether.
Tumblr media
Rayllum and Janaya shippers seem split between the two, while Ruthari shippers are showing a slight preference towards Grazi. Virrow shippers are, as always, in solidarity with Viravos shippers and Claaravos once again vote against their rival.
Tumblr media
Another category where I expected a closer match. They got the biggest number of people who don't like either ship, too!
Tumblr media
Rayllum shippers are split between both choices and disliking both as well. Ruthari and Claaravos also don't show a strong preference. However, Viravos once again voted in solidarity with Virrow and Janaya voted against their rival.
Tumblr media
Here it is - the biggest number of "I don't care" voters this round :D despite that, Ezranya still managed to win with a big difference.
Tumblr media
While most shippers don't seem to show a clear preference, the big three - Rayllum, Ruthari and Janaya - prefer Ezranya. It's a very strong preference in Rayllum's case, too!
Tumblr media
Finally, poor Claaravos can never catch a break. They were beaten by Avibeia, a ship that, until now, lost every battle due to irrelevance. And they were beaten by a huge difference in votes even with almost a third of the voters either not caring about or disliking both ships.
Tumblr media
The only ship without a clear preference is Viravos. The big three clearly favos Avibeia, while Virrow shippers prefer Claaravos.
Alright, that was it for this round. Next stop - the finale!

Web Scraping Amazon Data: The Perks for Amazon Dealers
As an Amazon dealer, you're bound to be inundated with requests from customers to provide them with specific information about the products they want to purchase. You may even receive emails or phone calls from prospective buyers asking you questions like what size shoe does this come in?
Or how many colours are available in this garment? Now, while you could take time out of your day to personally look up these answers yourself, wouldn't it be much easier and more cost-effective if you had access to amazon scraper tool that scrapes the product page for all the pertinent information about that product?
1: Save time by using web scraping
Amazon scraping is a great way to save time if you're looking to automate your Amazon business. There are many different Amazon scraper tools on the market, each with its own features and pricing models. When you use one of these programs, it becomes possible to quickly find profitable products without wasting any time scanning through thousands of pages. Amazon scrapers can help you find items that have a higher profit margin and reduce the amount of work that is needed in order to sell them. They also make it easier to track your inventory and update prices automatically, so you don't have to spend hours doing this manually.
2: Get more accurate data than what is provided by Amazon
An Amazon scraper will provide you with more accurate data than what is provided by Amazon. When you use a scraper, you can scrape reviews and prices from other websites to get a more accurate description of the product. This information will be more useful in your business decision-making process. Web scraping can also help you find out about products before they're released on Amazon. In addition, it allows you to do competitive analysis on products that are not yet available on Amazon, as well as identify trends in the industry.
3: Excel at keyword research with web scraping
If you use a scraper, you can get all the keywords that people are searching for on any given day. This is important because it allows you to take advantage of the words people are using to search.
For example, if someone is looking for blue shoes, you might want to make sure that your store has some blue shoes in stock. You might also want to see what other colours they're looking at on the page. (This will give you a sense of what colors they're likely not interested in.)
4: Make your buying decisions based on full historical data
Another important feature of a scraper is the ability to see how a particular item has been selling in the past. The historical tab on a scraper will give you sales data for any product going back as far as you want (usually around three years). You can then use this information to make buying decisions. For example, say you wanted to buy new widgets but were uncertain about their demand. You could look at how well certain similar products have sold over time and use that information as part of your decision-making process.
5: Visualize your business over time
It is important to always have a vision for your business. We know that our business will grow and experience many changes in the future. It is important to visualize what you want your company to look like five years from now. If you can't see it, how will you get there? You should create a timeline, so you know what steps need to be taken in order to reach your goals.
6: Avoid missing out on valuable opportunities due to human error
While human error can be a frustrating thing, it can also be an opportunity. If you're not going through your listings on a regular basis, you may miss out on opportunities to improve the quality of your product offerings. Let's say that one day you notice that someone has left a negative review about your product with some constructive feedback about how to improve it. If you don't get notified about the review, then there's no way for you to address the concern in order to make things right.
