anyway but okay so!!!! very excited to share this!!!! this has been in the works since september but my picky ass finally found an adequate amount of songs so here it is!!!!!! my jotakak playlist (:

track list nd why i picked the songs that i did under the break!

1. the predatory wasp of the palisades is out to get us! by sufjan stevens i chose this song because it’s all about internalized homophobia and being in love with your best friend as a kid which RLLY resonates w jotakak imo. esp cause in the song, stevens’ friend ends up leaving abruptly, leaving stevens to wonder about what couldve blossomed if they had stuck together and worked through the difficulties together, which JOTARO....THAT IS JOTARO-CORE esp cause kak also “leaves” (dies). so this song was a v obvious choice for me and in fact this song is what inspired me to create this playlist in the first place

2. we are beautiful, we are doomed by los campesinos! this song is abt being in love with someone but you both have ur issues so it’s kind of a mess. considering jotaro and kakyoin’s (to point it quite frankly) trauma and the fact that both of them do jack shit to try and cope with it healthily, this song DEFINITELY fits them. esp cause this song mentions physical fighting and the imagery that goes with it (”he got his teeth fixed/im gonna break them”, “i’ve got a fist on fire”, etc) and the entirety of the bridge/last verse rlly gives me these two’s vibes so! ya (:

3. love love love by of monsters and men this song is the singer feeling like shes completely unworthy of being loved by this important person in her life, particularly because she has NO idea how to show affection and love the (for lack of better word) “acceptable” way, or any way at all really. this REALLY has jotaro vibes cause he is one repressed motherfucker and as we see the entirety of his story, jotaro is full of love he loves so much it’s just he has no idea how to properly express it cause he’s scared essentially. but that didn’t stop people from loving him, in this case, that being kakyoin. hhhhHHh

4. ribs by lorde this song is about being scared of growing up but due to the lyrics being written the way they are, i kinda spin the interpretation of it to be the fear jotaro and kakyoin had on the crusade to egypt, as they were the youngest and didnt know if they’d make it back and everything is just incredibly overwhelming there is so much going on all the time those 50 days. i can do a full analysis on why but that would be kinda long LMAO. for now let’s leave it at they have a very Unique fear of growing up but it still fits with the lyrics. particularly the last bit of the song with the “youre the only friend i need” verses,,,makes me think of these two...

5. can i call you tonight? by dayglow i interpret this song to be about trying to figure out what, exactly, your feelings are for this very specific and important person in your life. since jotaro and kakyoin r both repressed and also suckers of internalized homophobia, i think they fit that theme very well. particularly with the whole “i feel like we’re close, but maybe we’re not actually? what are we?” theme going on in the lyrics, this whole song makes me think of jotaro and kakyoin figuring out their intense and sudden (cause again only 50 days but also, those 50 days had So Much going on) feelings for each other. also the “now i’m no longer alone” line in the chorus HHHHHHH that’s them

6. la la la love song by toshinobu kubota ft naomi campbell SO I KNOW THIS SONG IS KINDA JUST FLUFF but we need some light-hearted moments in this thing hjgg;. ALSO toshinobu kubota is canonically jotaro’s favorite musician so i wanted to reference that and this was my fav love song of his that i’ve found so far so (: also the “you are my shining star” line,,,heh

7. truce by twenty one pilots so this song is very soft. it’s about tending to wounds and taking a moment before continuing to push on. it makes me think abt jotaro and kakyoin taking care of each other on the journey (for example the lovers arc/n’doul fight). also the whole “stay alive, stay alive for me/you will die, but now your life is free/take pride in what is sure to die” makes me go fucking nuts that is. that fits these two to a T fuck

8. this side of paradise by coyote theory this song has big “two lonely people are in love with each other for the first time” vibes and OHHHHHHHHHH THAT’S JOTAKAK.... there are a lot of little lines that make me specifically think abt these two, such as “love so strong it makes me feel weak” (jotaro-core...), “if you’re lonely come be lonely with me”, “i’ll be yours if you’ll be mine” (wanting some security while ur in love for the first time is common but especially for these two i think it works spectacularly) but yea this song as a whole is just...ohhh them. theyre in lvoe HK;FNJFL

9. i saw you in a dream by the japanese house EVERY. SINGLE. LINE. OF THIS SONG IS POST-EGYPT JOTARO. EVERY SINGLE LINE. and the ghost the singer talks about seeing? they hadnt changed at all? they were such a pretty vision, a perfect hallucination? BRUH... just listen i could do a whole analysis on this song it all just fits jotaro mourning kakyoin throughout the years so so so so well it makes me feel nuts holy shit i just. literally every line. every line fits i am not joking. i cried when i first heard this song LMAO

10. video games by the young professionals SO LMAO obviously kakyoin’s epic gamer moves are being referenced but beyond that i interpret this song to just be the fun parts of being in love esp when ur young (backed up with the “kissing in the blue dark” and the “watching all our friends fall” lines). also the chorus just makes me want to cry cause just, happy jotakak moments PLEASE. “the world was built for two only worth living if somebody is loving you, and baby now you do” THEYRE NOT ALONE ANYMORE THEY FOUDN EACH OTHER IM GONAN WAILLLLLLL oh my god. im nuts theynkjNJKNJF also “i heard that you like the bad girls” please. these two shitty teenagers

11. ikanaide by sohta ft. yuki kaai this song is abt not wanting someone u love to leave u cause youll miss them obviously but also ur scared of how the time will change you and if it’ll make you unrecognizable eventually. big post-egypt jotaro vibes 😔 especially cause one part of the chorus translates to “i shouldnt cry, i shouldnt cry, but the truth is i want to say dont go” and im jus like OHHHHH NO IT’S JOTARO FINDING OUT KAKYOIN DIED jkfnNKJFNJDhkld

12. therefore you and me by eve ALRIGHT. god this song is one hell of a doozy. i interpret this song to mean being sincerely in love but youre in the wrong place/wrong time. considering the uh Whole Situation in part 3 there were definitely better times to fall in love for these two. jotaro and kakyoin try to be happy w the moments they do have (i think the second verse in particular adds to this sentiment what with the selfish ghosts part) but they want a better environment understandably so theyre also just kinda ignoring things until they can properly care for a relationship. but well...who knows if theyll live to make it to that better environment ):

13. mayonaka no door/stay with me by miki matsubara this song is a v sweet sentiment abt like “it’s not just heat of the moment!! i do care about u a lot!!” and asking the person u have feelings for to stick around. big kakyoin and jotaro vibes as it would be easy to call what they have a fling considering how relatively short of a timeframe they had but i genuinely think their relationship was deeper than just that and this song nicely reflects such. “jotaro and i will share a room cause we’re both students” fuckin head ass

14. a thousand years by sting oh sting.... so since sting is kakyoin’s favorite musician canonically i had to add one of his songs here as well but beyond just that i do think this song fits them!! it kinda gives me big “if not in this life, then the next” vibes which is a big uhhh thing for jotakak. they may be doomed to tragedy but the moments they have together make the tragedy worth enduring ironically i feel like this song is mostly from jotaro’s pov considering i dont think he ever completely got over kakyoin and this song def has that kinda sentiment but hey it fits them...

15. mr loverman by ricky montgomery SO FUNNY STORY i actually REALLY. REALLY didnt wanna add this song at first cause i felt it wouldve been...idk too cliche? i guess? and i was ALL kinds of picky when choosing songs for this playlist HOWEVER. eventually i relistened to it and read the lyrics while thinking specifically abt jotakak and it actually rlly does fit quite well KJDFN; another jotaro mourning song ): it’s not just the chorus tho the whole song fits jotaro immediately post-egypt but also i feel like some time around part 4 this sentiment would come back to him cause Yknow. Gays In Morioh and the mess of his family life back in america. it just aches for him cause while he’s happy josuke is happy he wishes he couldve had that for him and kakyoin too but yea jus ... them

16. you by petit biscuit an instrumental?? in a ship playlist?? yes that’s right much like mr loverman i was hesitant to put this song in cause it’s harder to justify since i dont rlly know much abt music (and not to b controversial but interpreting lyrics and interpreting music r two different things) however i really think the vibes of this song fit jotakak. it’s got a somber melody but the keys of the piano are high which im taking to mean “light in the dark” which. jotaro and kakyoin (along w the rest of the crusaders) were each other’s lights in the dark. also the ending samples a conference/lecture talking about space flight and like. star platinum. space symbolism. jotaro. yeah

17. saturn by sleeping at last MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM. this song is all about losing someone very close and important to you, but reflecting on the good they brought into your life rather than the pain of losing them. this song also has HEAVY space imagery which stardust crusaders is absolutely chalk fucking full of so also it’s a very philosophical song and considering that jotaro and kakyoin are both Nerds and both got a nice view of the stars/space in the desert with each other, im sure they had conversations similar to the one highlighted in the song. i think it’s a good note to end the playlist on cause kakyoin is dead and jotaro is the survivor but it’s not a mourning song so much as jotaro taking the love he had for kakyoin and pushing forward with it allll th way into part 6

but yeah that’s the tracklist! i might add or take away a song or two but this is mostly it (: hope yall enjoy!

so as u kno from his app he owns a patisserie, it’s his lil babey and he is very dedicated to his craft and makin sure all his ideas for the place and the baked goods he sells are like rlly quirky and avant-garde. like he is so passionate about it u dont even KNOW, he tries to make sure most of the stuff on his menu is something like fun and new u wouldn’t get at just any old patisserie or cafe and that it’s super varied and also kinda aesthetic af? the place is very like trendy. it’s called patisserie d’elysian cause ya know he’s an extra biTCHH and proud.

he has three pupperino’s. all as adorable as each other, snickerdoodle is his golden lab and often ppl shorten it down to snickers, butterscotch is his dapple daschund pup, shortens the name to scotchie often. toulouse is his fancy toy poodle boi, shortens the name down as toto. if u are on the shortened name basis with his pups then u can consider urself one of his close pals.

he’s actually adopted by his aunt but she raised him like she was his mother so that is what he considers her, she’s on his mother’s side but they are half-siblings. in terms of first name reasoning as well she just liked eunha as a name and didn’t even think about how it is traditionally for a female, she liked that it meant gift from heaven so it stuck. his father is still around, he’s just quite elderly so it felt like a better living situation for him to be raised primarily by his auntie. unfortunately his mother has passed on but no tragic story, she just went peacefully in old age.

he dyes his hair quite often, it’s currently like a really pastel blue with black streaks consistently throughout like lil ones so it looks super cool. but he’s also had it be a more electric blue, lilac, and a duck egg kinda faded silvery blue. it’s naturally dark brunette. has brown eyes kind of a hazel hue.

his style is kinda androgynous ig?? he just lives for soft retro fashion, lots of color in his wardrobe but also lots of tapered short and t-shirt fits frequented, sweater vests, rolled up jeans, high skater boi socks, soft jumpers with shirts, shirts in bright colours or satiny texture worn over plain white t-shirts, cardigans, pastel denim jackets, jeans with printed patterns on like clouds, flowers etc, favors yellow and blues. sometimes does eye makeup, occasionally wears heels bc he’s a baddie or super heeled boots/chunky shoes.

obsessed with music, can play violin and guitar. he’s a big mitski and rina sawayama fanatic, likes anything that sounds peaceful or calming or has like a good fun vibe to it. also likes the trademark gay icons like carly rae jepsen, lorde, etc. he’s not ashamed. obsessed with mamma mia movies. but also likes rap which is rlly funny cause its like the bad bitch female rappers only and like he’ll listen to it while arranging his sock drawer or making his bed or something ajdjdj it’s like hype anthems for being a baddie and a hoe and he’s just doing his night sleepy routine adkfkf.

showers, blankets, music, baked goods especially bagels are his happy places.

his cousin actually owns a florists so he has flowers just littering his apartment like a lot and it just looks like he has ten million suitors from the late eighteenth century attempting to court him but no all these flowers are from him to him or worse from his aunt djfjg she sends him some for valentines every valentines, pls help him, pls send him flowers.

studies nutritional science and he fucken hates it. do not ask him shit cause he doesn’t KNOW OKAY? he doesn’t understand it either. he took it because he needed something to go alongside the passion for baking that was a real ‘qualification’/job so that is the only reason he’s doing it. no point doing a baking degree after all when he’s already a baker with a business, he’s super young still he gotta keep his prospects open. so YAH. he’d rather be doing culinary arts but eh. nutritional science sounded better and more logic based. the real miracle is he still gets top grades all the time even tho he spends his life like wtf am i even doing is this even legit akdkdk. school is the worst thing in the world for him watch his mood instantly deflate the second its brought up.

despite being a quixotic, he’s a lil afraid of intimacy. like oh god does he love it, those small touches and acts of affection u kno? the subtle things that normally go unnoticed, eye contact, brushing of hands, linking of little fingers, rubbing a thumb, kissing eyelids or foreheads or palms or shoulders in little gentle pecks, back massages and rubs or finger tracing patterns absent-minded, shoulder massages, laying your head on someone’s shoulder or on their lap, knocking knees together, exchanging a small glance only the two of you get before bursting into laughter, smiling into kisses, napping together, having blankets placed over you warm and fresh, or towels put ready like it, someone making you something they know you like a lot. that’s his sHIT. but like he’s terrified still, someone skimming their fingers on his skin makes his breath hitch like he’s a scandalized and alarmingly aroused victorian woman sjdjd. he’s literally still a virgin, he hasn’t even had his first kiss okay my baby is delicate be gentle with him akdkd but he still LIKES PASSION AIGHT kfkf.

does not enjoy turning in assignments bc he is scared he’ll fail, avoids looking at his grades for weeks after they’re released and hates knowing that they’re out.

cannot dance, dances often. collects vintage stuff esp clothes and mostly sweaters. likes midnight trips to corner stores and fields where he can just lay and look at the stars. makes friends rlly easily but has super bad performance anxiety. cannot ever have a messy room like even the tiniest bit messy. even like clothes being stacked on a chair instead of away.

bakes peanut butter, banana and choc chip muffins (they r called monkey bites normally) whenever he’s super stressed. if u want to cheer him up when he’s anxious or stressed then u should give him french lavender honey, chia seeds and caramelized pear on toast/bagel. it is his comfort food. he fancii when he needs a pick me up. treat urself and all that.

oh gosh,, i mean. ghosts? yes. cryptids? probably. fae/nature spirits/mythical beings? undecided. i’d like to believe in as much magic as possible, but the only thing im firmly convinced about is ghosts (altho not all ghost stories. i thought i was haunted fr a long time but turns out it was wind gettin thru my window. so.)

Writing my thots on divus characters in the vague hope of getting slep

Divus spoilers go watch th show!!!!!!

I dont like james i dont think this is a hot take or anything like. Even if hes totally 1000% a good guy i still hate him for how he treats canis and im glad she mind controlled his ass she oughtta a lot sooner!!!! I hope we get to see more of her powers soon i feel like she could be super duper powerdul and it could lead to some cool twists!!!! I think alex is dumb as a brick god bless but still loveable. Like. U just gotta root for him. Penny is sweet but idk if i really like her character!! Like as personal taste obv shes just like. Tooooooo sweet i feel like shes gona snap!!! Idk im curious to see what happens. I think jolenes design is so so super adorable!!! I really hope she can get some more characterizatiion and doesnt end up being a vapid side character bcs i think shes so cool?? She n pyrus aint a good match tho imo hes too closed off for her to deal w!!! That being said. I like pyrus mayb bcs his personality reminds me of my favorite boy. Which is like. Loveable but can b so frustrating just speak your emotions straight out god bless. So yes perhaps hits close to home but i think hes one of my favs. I think felicia is so cute!! Like u wanna pat her head or sth shes jus a lil detective!!!!! I really like how she seems to be handling things in a smart and measured way for the most part instead of rushing in. She isnt too trusting of ppl which i feel like some people could be like how could she not trust her own family? But thats just smarts!!!!!! Respec also i think her and pyrus are cute together. Like a rational mystery solving duo. I also rlly like how you can rlly clearly see the effects of abusive/neglectful parenting on pyrus idek if its intentional or if im reading into it but i feel like its a subtle n realistic depiction of how esp masc ppl respond to abuse n same w his brother and their relationship. I really like when something has more subtle depictions of life with trauma bcs its just closer to what i experience!!!! Altho i definatley think kayos response to trauma, altho a lot less understated, is relatable with me too bcs th anger when a flashback is triggered also shes a badass i cannot wait for her to unleash pure chaos on the world!!! And i like vulpini!! I feel like she doesbt have a whole lot of depth of character bcs shes really lighthearted n fun!! So i definatley would like to see more of her backstory/personality beyond being chill!!! Like i thibk seeing her get serious and use her powers for sth high stakes would b soooo cool!!! I like how shes also sorta a bit of an airhead hehe her and kayo are so cute together!! Th polar opposite gfs!!! Im super duper excited to learn more about mortus felis like if there was an episode dedicated to pyrus telling th spooky stories his family been telling us! To give like. Small hints abt what goin on!! I have a feeling mortus felis isnt the truuuuue bad guy. Like underneath it all he has noble intentions or sth im so curious tho!!!!

Anyways. Longform hyperfixation ramble done for now :3 either way, i think its super cool to see how much effort abd thought go into this!! I like. Never see shortform stop motion animation and it works so well? Despite th limitations of using dolls n them only having one eexpression, there are some palpable tone shifts and idek how she does it!! lee jooheon is fucking perfect to me okay? like as monbebes, we always talk abt his stage charisma and stuff, but honestly? jooheon owns the stage, the way he raps, the way he moves with the music, is so utterly raw, it’s like he’s pouring his everything into the music. the way he spits out the words, does the little lilts in tone, growls out the fading bits, jooheon becomes the music, like he is the song. this isn’t even because he likes the song or smth, jooheon just has such a strong passion, a driving energy, it’s like everything he does up there on the stage is bc he loves it and he wants to do it jooheon becomes the song because he doesn’t know how to do anything but

furthermore i would like to bring a new item of discussion to the table as an unpopular opinion: jooheon is not 2 ppl–soft offstage, charismatic on stage. in fact, they are both amplified aspects of lee jooheon.

ok okay hear me out. look, lee jooheon is different than jooheon of mx, right? okay so lee jooheon is actually rlly sweet, but slightly more reserved than jooheon of mx. and you can argue w me on this, but my man and i literally have the same fucking birthday so fuck off i Get Him (im joking i promise im not a bitch). okay so moving on, here’s what i mean: he plays the whole role of the cutie, the lil adorable fluffball, but jooheon isnt a huge fan of physical affection unless you’re close with him and That right there is lee jooheon not jooheon of mx. literally he would only let minhyuk actually cuddle him as of recent–jooheon fucking loves it when minhyuk hugs him or cuddles him. and im not saying he outright rejects hugs or affection, but he really only initiates this when he’s completely comfortable with you, like wholly and fully is close with you. however, he’s been getting closer and closer with the members and now he’s comfortable with even kihyun hugging him. but see, his affection is interesting, bc it’s like he doesn’t necessarily like it, but he knows what helps his members out. when changkyun’s nervous, or a lil fidgety, jooheon is quick to put his arms around him, to rest his head on changkyun’s shoulder. jooheon picks up quickly on people and their personalities, which then helps him figure out what he has to do to help them when they’re upset.

my point is, jooheon amplifies the cuteness, the fluffiness bc he’s trying to become a better version of himself. the jooheon we see offstage is actually an amplified aspect of lee jooheon, just like the jooheon on stage is an amplified version of lee jooheon’s passion. jooheon of mx embodies the raw passion lee jooheon has, the energy, the drive, everything he loves. so the jooheon of mx we see is actually the parts of lee jooheon that he amplifies! so what im trying to say is that jooheon is actually giving us his real personality through joohoen of mx. this sounds fucking weird and also like i spend wayyyy too much time analyzing him, but the thing is, we never realize that when we get jooheon of mx, he’s actually feeding us his favorite parts of lee jooheon, the boy who just really fuckin loves music and is sweet beyond words. jooheon of mx is lee jooheon, but the parts that he wants us to see, the parts he knows will make us happy.

jooheon is so completely selfless, like everything he does is just to make people happy. the cuteness we get? bc he knows it’ll make us happy. the hugs he gives the members? makes em happy. the way he carefully cheers on each of the member? good loRD hes so fucking good at that. lee jooheon is KING of soft compliments, of “wow! u hit that high note really well!” to kihyun when they’re reacting to their stages and kihyun looks nervous (boy always looks so stressed abt his lines – breathe baby, breathe) or “ooh, have you been working out?” when he sees hoseok walkin around in tighter shirts or telling changkyun ”brooo ur flow” like it’s all second nature to him, it’s like an extension of who he is. that is lee jooheon transitioning and bleeding into jooheon of mx.

okok also! i love the way jooheon doesn’t pit himself against anyone! like kihyun also does this really well!! they get better bc they want to get better for themselves! when he practices (think back to no mercy) he doesnt think “oh wow, i need to be better than X person” he critiques himself, he anazlyzes each and everything he does, down to the little noises he makes, the way he breathes during certain parts. jooheon doesnt think that he should get better because someone is catching up to him. he gets better because he feels like he is his own competition. this is something thats like hecka clear in no mercy, like when he won that recording thing w hyorin and san e and l i t e r al l y aced the recording in one go, but my bby was like nah i think i can do better. jooheon flourishes under praise, but he doesnt end it there. he doesnt think that just bc he’s been praised he can stop–no, his mind immediately jumps forward, he’s already moving onto wow how can i be even better, how do i continue to get praised. his mind is so interesting, like the satisfaction that comes with being praised is immediately overridden, by the need to get better so that the praise continues.

also when he gets praised his face does this rlly cute thing where he baiscally tries to do a humble smile, but he’s so happy that someone complimented him taht he gets this strain on his faCE AND HE LOOKS SO FUCKING HAPPY! also when he smiles, like genuinely, and his upper lip curls just a bit over his teeth and the dimples pop out (aka my home) and his eyes scrunch shut!! beauty!! also the way he laughs!! when jooheon thinks something is really funny, he laughs in high pitched hiccups with lil choked off noises. when he’s giggling, it’s lower pitched with a sort of warmth to it, but my favorite laugh is when he’s with his fans and someone says or does smth. like jooheon LIGHTS THE FUCK UP for his fans im not even joking hes so beautiful im sobbing i love him

FUCK yall. Heres some things that *i* have 2 say. @ morgan : i love u so much !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! U literally deserve every good thing in this entire world. You are so loving and bubbly and positive that it is Infuriating to me that you have to face any hardship whatsoever. You dont deserve that, but you are strong enough to push through it and to make the most of any bad situation, and im SO excited for your future and the amazing things you will accomolish. Youve been my best bud for like ??????? 12 years almost ??????? How badass is that !!!!!!! U are the one bitch on this planet that i truly can tell everything. Nothing on this blog would suprise ir shock u, like a bitch knows whats up bc. God i rlly truly can 100 percent relax in ur company. SOMETIMES i still worry abt dumb shit but then i tell u anyway and it works out ok. Im mad greatful for that. Even with my other besties, i think id go mad without u and our friendship. But regardless ! This person directly and immediately impacts my emotional state. And rn its you !!! Which sucks a LOT. Bc even outside of my shitty "favorite person" thing, you are very important to me, and your friendship is so important to me. But i havent figured out how to negate or counter the whole fp experience, and so whenever u do anything... that i could interpret as disinterest or disgust or like anything negative, it has a 50/50 chance if sending me into a panic, sometimes a full fledged anxiety attack ! And whenever you show interest or affection or anything positive, it beyond makes my day. And thats. Like weird ? And it sucks even more for you, because if you realized how strongly just the tiniest thing can fuck me up, you wouldnt even want to talk 2 me. You would distance yourself to save urself from the stress and me from the whatever this is. But i know that my brain would just pick someone else as soon as you abandon me, so i have to just keep in my head and to myself until the fp thing moves on, or u abandon me anyway, or whatever. Bc i dont want to lose our friendship. And its ok !! But it makes our friendship more complicated on my end.
