TF One Theory - Why do the Waves stand with Starscream?
Tumblr media
So I was thinking about this screenshot and to me, there's one very obvious reason why this shot is the way that it is:
At this point in time, Starscream leads the revolution. There's no Megatron to cause beef between the trio. They pull in the same direction.
Okay so take everything here with a huge chunk of salt, we don't know how and why the war has started and neither do we know what the whole deal with the Con insignia is, but what we do know is that D-16/Megatron wears it the entire movie, discovers a helmet with the same shape and that there's a war going on even before Orion and D-16 have any chance of starting it. A war without insignia, mind you.
This screenshot heavily implies that the war (or at least a war) has started without Megatron and instead, his three angels are the leading figures with Starscream on the throne - but why would the Waves serve him?
First of all, the easiest explanation: Soundwave cares more about their goal than he does about their leader.
In previous versions, it has been established that Soundwave is willing to serve any Decepticon leader as long as he believes in them and that they will make the Decepticons succeed. From Marvel to the various cartoons and comics, he has rarely ever taken command and usually was right by the side of whoever barked the loudest: be it Megatron, Starscream, Shockwave, Ratbat or Galvatron (to name the most prominent examples). He's often seen to favor Megatron in comparison to others, but he's willing to replace him too if he doesn't see any future with him leading them to victory. See these examples from US Marvel G1 where he helped Shockwave destroy Megatron after he went insane and IDW1, where he allied himself with Galvatron, hoping to achieve peace:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Keep in mind that both of these examples were reactions to Megatron's failures. In the Marvel version Megatron went insane after Optimus died and was incapable of leadership, in IDW1 Megatron defected to the Autobots and denounced the Decepticon cause.
In early Prime, Soundwave kept Screamer in check, however he did not contest his leadership as he later did with Airachnid. He saw Starscream as a realistic alternative or at least a temporary solution while Megatron was out of order. Once again, him following someone else was directly caused by his previous leader's inability to continue doing so.
Soundwave's loyalty is to the cause.
But what about Shockwave?
Shockwave is traditionally shown to stand in direct contrast to the others. While in Cyberverse his dispute with Soundwave is played as a joke and his disloyalty to Megatron is merely hinted at, in the comic runs he is just as treacherous as Starscream and while he's not being as obvious with it, he definitely has the intention to ursurp the Decepticon throne or more. In the Aligned continuity (specifically the Exodus novel) it is mentioned that he provoked a war between Tarn, his city, and Vos, Starscream's seeker city, to not only eradicate the seekers but also to get in Megatron's favor and prove that he is the superior second-in-command. In the Prime cartoon later on, they have an active rivalry. Starscream is constantly being pushed back, and, most notably, is the only one to trigger Shockwave's emotions. Shockwave emotes with his antennae, showing irritation and annoyance with Starscream and even openly threatens him with physical violence.
Tumblr media
However as is the case with Soundwave, Shockwave is seen to be willing to work alongside Starscream if necessary. During the End of Prime, we see Shockwave grab Starscream and flee to Cybertron together, where they also collaborated on reviving Project Predacon for Predacons Rising. Shockwave is easily capable of killing Starscream, he could also just left him with the Autobots after Megatron's end, but he didn't. He saw more logic in sticking together. He saw use in him. Curious, it almost seems like these two can get along once there's nobody to suck up to anymore, doesn't it?
G1 also has some very interesting Shockwave moments that lead me to believe that TF One is gonna lean heavily on the G1 characterizations for Starscream and Shockwave (and most likely Soundwave, too) OR make Megatron the reason for the rivalry to even bloom.
During Countdown for Extinction, Starscream makes Shockwave believe that Megatron is dead. Shockwave, blindly loyal in this version, shows distress and despair, however he allows himself to be pushed to the side by Starscream and do as he wishes (until he realizes that Megatron is still very much alive). In The Revenge of Bruticus, Starscream and Shockwave are also seen working together out of necessity, giving us this glorious screenshot.
Tumblr media
But all of these examples are taken under the circumstance that Megatron is a key figure. "Megatron" doesn't exist yet in TF: One - so why is Starscream the leader? Who put him in charge?
We don't know the reason for the war / the purpose of the revolution yet. We know that transformation isn't a given in this version (yet) and we know that freedom is not what it seems. D-16, B-127, Orion Pax and Elita-1 are all seeking freedom and this is what not only gets them their T-Cogs but also the ability to explore a world that's completely different from the city they know.
We know that Iacon exists - so perhaps other major cities we know, such as Kaon, Tarn and, most importantly, Vos, could be a topic and possible locations in the movie. My first thought was that maybe the revolution of this timeline started in Vos, in the Seeker capital, and it was Starscream who started it, given that in multiple version he leads the city-state.
Because think about it: What is the perfect symbol of freedom if not wings, if not the ability to fly? Even the damn throne looks like it has wings!
We've seen quite the amount of seekers in the trailer too, seekers that are able to fly and to transform. Seekers that are identifiable.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
These two are somewhat getting focused in the trailer, possibly Skywarp and Nova Storm (like in Earthspark), the second might even be Sunstorm (if Hasbro even remembers he exists).
At another point in the trailer we also see a winged corpse in the foreground. I have a feeling that transformation and especially transforming to fly is going to be an important aspect in the war here.
Tumblr media
The amount of fliers heavily implies that we are perhaps right in Vos, the center of attention, and that is why Starscream is in charge. We are, quite literally, in his realm, on his turf. He is the most powerful one around because he knows his way around the city and he can fly and maybe he also has the political power needed to engage in a large-scale conflict like the one we saw. We've seen him as a politician before, as a good one too.
Whether it's with his words or his actions, he convinced the Waves to follow him and they deemed it the most logical choice to follow him to achieve their goals - whatever these may be.
Probably Megatron will be the one to rally everyone under the same banner, establish the Decepticon insignia and potentially sow the seed for the rivalry between his three commanders, becoming the ideal symbol, both a leader and the figurehead of his revolution.
I almost wish for the tables to be turned and him snatching leadership from Starscream, but I think it's more likely that the dynamic will naturally develop...or be forced on him with some good old abuse, we know Megatron. I wouldn't be surprised to see him beat Starscream up and the Waves realize that maybe following the strongest wouldn't be a terrible idea.
But yeah! That was my interpretation/analysis of that one specific frame. I'm really hyped about this movie, in case you can't tell lol.
Lemme know what you think and if you got something to add, feel free to sneak into my ask box and leave your two cents!

Hallo! Yandere Poly TFP Soundwave and Shockwave Romantic Pls?
TFP Yandere Poly Shockwave and Soundwave X Reader
whoops much longer than I meant it to be-
You had been working with the Decepticons for some time. You knew that they despised humans, but they at least respected you- unlike a lot of people on Earth.
You often had a hard time expressing your emotions and often came off rude or cold. You were actually a very emotional and caring person- but no one ever tried to get past your cold-seeming exterior. That is, until you met Soundwave.
He was trying to hack into your computers because the Vehicons believed you had something on the Autobots. Soundwave was shocked when he couldn’t hack into your computers remotely, so he went to attempt in person.
You walked into your huge garage to see him standing there. He noticed you immediately and snatched you up off of the ground. Instead of the fear he expected, he was met with a blank stare. He tilted his head curiously at you.
“Yeah, good luck hacking that buddy. You’re not the first to try and you won’t be the last.”
Soundwave felt that his pride was threatened so he held onto you as he continued his work. He was instantly frustrated to find that you were right- he couldn’t get in. Somehow, this small human’s technology and code bested his Cybertronians. He placed you on the ground and pointed at the computer.
“What are you looking for?” You popped the gum in your mouth. Soundwave showed pictures of the Autobots and their alt-modes. “Oh. Those guys. Yeah, I don’t have much on them. I don’t care enough to bother.”
Normally you humans were so nosy- the amount of humans he has had to kill being in the hundreds. He watched as you typed in a few things that he recorded for future use. You pulled up the few images on the Autobots.
“There. You’re free to use the files, but make sure to shut the door behind yourself, thanks.”
He was dumbfounded as you walked back through your garage door to the kitchen.
When Soundwave went back to the Nemesis, he couldn’t stop thinking of you. While he always got his work done on time, Megatron still noticed his distracted state.
“Soundwave, has something been bothering you?” The silent mech shook his head only to be met with a scowl. “I’ve known you for over six million stellar cycles. You cannot lie to me.”
Soundwave’s shoulders slumped as he replayed the interaction between the two of you. “You couldn’t access it?” Megatron looked on with a mix of curiosity and confusion. “That’s… unusual.”
Soundwave looked down in shame. He was supposed to be the one who could get into anything. The one who was Megatron’s most trusted and reliable ally.
“Bring me this human.” Megatron ordered.
Shockwave heard about the human through the ‘grapevine’. He was ordered to make arrangements for the human’s stay. He did so, although begrudgingly. He’d much rather have been working on the Predacon Project.
It was a few days later when Soundwave came to grab you. You were watering your garden as he transformed in front of you. You looked up again at him with the same expression you had when you first met. Instead of just snatching you up, he offered you a hand which you stepped quickly onto. The next thing you knew you were on a giant alien spacecraft.
“So you’re the infamous human that beat Soundwave’s hacking skills.” Megatron looked at you from your position on Soundwave’s shoulder.
“I guess so. I didn’t think it was a big deal.”
Megatron studied the straight-to-the-point human. You were unusual-even by his standards. “How would you like a place among our ranks?” Megatron offered.
“I mean, yeah I guess. I’m not doing anything after 3PM everyday anyway.”
With that, you began visiting the Nemesis everyday from 3PM-12AM. You would often sleep on the Nemesis when you got your work done early- and Megatron couldn’t be more pleased with you as you strengthened their encryptions and even listened in on the Autobot’s transmissions.
Soundwave and you had become closer too, with him making it a point to ferry you to and from work everyday. Whenever anyone badmouthed you or threatened you he was there to loom over them threateningly.
Shockwave kept hearing of you, and how ‘helpful and intelligent’ you were from Megatron and some Vehicons. He was irritated- how could anyone from your species be that useful? He’d studied and experimented on many humans, and all had base intelligence of a primitive species. He had eventually had enough, and stormed in to see what the fuss was all about.
You were sitting at your computer that had been so graciously gifted to you by Megatron when you heard the door slide open. “Soundwave, can you grab me that big USB you gave me? I wanted to do a data transfer.”
“A data transfer?” Shockwave echoed. You turned to him with a nod.
“Yeah. I updated all this set of files with stronger encryption.” Shockwave looked over to your computer. He was impressed. For a human, you were pretty interesting. You both had eventually grown a mutual respect for each other over science. You would often banter back and forth, when something he had said made you laugh.
Hearing your laugh shocked both Shockwave and Soundwave who was watching through the cameras. That sound was like music to their ears and they tried to get you to laugh more. Whenever they managed to get you to laugh, Soundwave would secretly record it.
Soundwave and Shockwave (who hated each other even before you came into the picture) began competing to see who could make you laugh more.
Over the course of a few months, you went through all of their files and put heavy encryption on everything. You also made them a code that would do it for them, and another code that could pick up on transmissions. You informed Megatron that you’d be going back to your normal schedule, but he could call on you anytime that he needed you.
Because he knew that you were a person of your word and you had more than proven your loyalty, you were allowed that privilege of leaving until he yet again called upon you. He assured you that when he conquered Earth, you would be given a life of luxury. You figured you’d see Shockwave and Soundwave again, so you hadn’t bothered saying goodbye.
Shockwave and Soundwave found out when they were on the bridge together with Megatron. Megatron had offhandedly brought it up, and both of them looked at him in shock.
“My lord, is that wise?” Shockwave raced his words out. “The autobots could capture them.”
Megatron looked at Shockwave. “You seem almost concerned, Shockwave.” He noticed Soundwave’s tentacles swaying- something he often did in irritation. “Ah, I see. You both want the human. Because you are both my most loyal Decepticons, I’ll allow it- but hear this. No harm can come to this human. They may have future use.”
When Megatron waved them off, Soundwave left to get you while Shockwave made small repairs to your living space. You weren’t that shocked to see Soundwave there, except when he grabbed you without your consent. You were pretty much quiet the entire trip back to the Nemesis where Shockwave explained you’d be staying with them indefinitely.
“You know you’re going to have to buy me food, clothes, and toiletries, right?”
“We have more than enough.” Shockwave gestured to the semi-trucks that had been stolen.
You shrugged.  “Alright, at least I don’t have to go to work anymore.”
And you’ll never have to do any job for a human ever again- because you were never leaving this ship. Not that you wanted to. Shockwave and Soundwave got you anything you wanted.

[ Alright, here’s the second post to my Deep Sea AU! ]
[ this one is separately just about the Kinito Crew, just some basic info about em! PS: this post is gonna be RLLY long, and before I rlly get to them, I just wanna talk about some basic stuff! ]
I recommend to read this post before diving into those there’s some important base info about this AU in it: LINK
/// like before, slight mention of violence and Manipulation, nothing major, but just incase! :)
Now for this crew, what are they, they are a type of Mermaid/Siren species, mixed in whit other types of Sea/Water based life, they are around double as big as a normal human [let’s say average human being 5 feet tall].
They are very prone to attack humans, most of the time they would attack small ships to boats that would just be out at sea, they aren’t much afraid to come close to humans, so even small boats on the shore aren’t safe, this was one of the reasons why the company had to capture them.
——————
They have siren like powers, where they can potentially manipulate humans to do what they tell them to, it can either be done over the eye‘s or voice!
Voice manipulation: based around the „singing“ I rather want to use something based on the idea of „Binarual Beats“ which a normal human can’t hear, but can have an impact on the brain.
Here they have sertain soundwaves in their voices, that when telling someone to do something for them, they have an incredible strong impact, not rlly like hypnosis cause the person is still awake and aware, but feels more like „if I don’t do this my heads gonna explode“.
For this, the company has developed special ear buds, which allows the wearer to hear, but it kills and Sound waves which could have a negative impact on the brain.
Eye manipulation: this one rarely gets used by them, for this, let’s use kinito as an example, needs to keep full eye contact for a while, which then can put the affected in a type of trance, or if done shortly, can again have affect on the brain. [which can causea panic like feeling]
Just like before, the company came up which glasses/contact lenses, which keeps someone from being put into a trace.
Workers are required to wear both at all times when handling anyone from the crew, so sayd worker is aware of his surroundings at all times and doesn’t get distracted!
Now let’s get a bit more into these three!
But before I start, I wanna say I had to ignore real biology a bit, mainly because I’m making mermaids here, and this plays in the Sea, if I would make kinito fully and axolotl, he would not sieving in such salty waters, so while all of them still have parts of their original species, they are still mainly mermaid like creatures! Okay let’s go!
——————
Kinito
Species: Part Axolotl Sea creature
Size: 11 feet tall
Specific ability: extremely quick, glows under fluorescent light.
Kinito is a good in between Sam and Jade, Thinks before he act‘s, but still has quite the short temper when he doesn’t get what he wants, but will put up an act to have a better chance to get his way!
Tumblr media
—————
Jade
Species: Part Jellyfish Sea Creature
Size: 9 feet tall
Specific ability: can glow in the dark, tentacle can stink and paralyze victim.
Jade is the calmest of the group, thinks before she act‘s which even in her scared up state kept her out of a lot of trouble, she‘s more quiet, and in captivity only attacks when she feel threatened, that doesn’t mean she’s gonna be nice…
Tumblr media
—————
Sam
Species: part Anemone Sea creature
Size: 10 feet tall
Specific ability: tentacles can sting and paralyze victim, strongest of the three.
While naturally being more layed back, Sam is VERY aggressive towards humans, and will straight up just attack out of the blue, mostly being kept back my Jade.
Tumblr media
[ okay that’s it for now, hopefully get to have some time to work on this AU a bit more! ]
[ See ya!^^ ]

Optimus Prime
Optimus Prime decided to give a speech of the human population on Television. A speech about hope and the personal heroism of the various humans he knew. That the bravery and sacrifice by the humans he knew for an alien race was admirable and praiseworthy.
He told the world that out of all the humans he has met, none inspires him more than you. Your selflessness and willingness to help the Cybertronians left a massive impression on him about your species.
Halfway through the speech, he picked you up, and placed you on his shoulder. Making sure to not lose your balance, you sat close to his face, and felt the Autobot leader’s voice rumble through your body.
As Optimus continued his speech, you stroked his shoulder and face, and the cameras definitely saw what you were doing. Optimus knew what you were doing, but he had no intention of stopping it. It was part of his plan to show that if a human’s heart can open up to a Cybertronian, anything is possible.
At the end of the speech, when everyone in attendance was applauding, you kissed Optimus on the side of his face. And again, the cameras caught everything in full view. You didn’t care what the rest of humanity thought, Optimus was the love of your life.
The following day, headlines all across the world said something about you and Optimus Prime’s relationship. While some were excoriating the idea of a human dating an alien robot, some were much more empathetic to the idea.
Bumblebee
One night you were out of town with Bumblebee, travelling from your small town to the Autobot base for an important briefing on Decepticon plans. In the middle of the night, you stopped at a gas station to use their bathroom and grab a snack.
While Bumblebee was parked outside, a robber came into the store and grabbed a hold of you, pointing a gun to your head, and demanded that the person behind the register give them the money, or you would die.
Bumblebee noticed this almost immediately and transformed before ripping the front and roof of the gas station off. Before the robber could react, Bumblebee knocked him away from you, and picked him up by the throat with his index finger and thumb.
Bumblebee threatened the criminal, saying that if it weren’t for his affiliation with the Autobots, he would crush his head like a grape. He even threatened the robber with his plasma cannon and told him to give one good reason why he shouldn’t turn him into a red mist.
Looking down at you Bumblebee dropped the robber outside and told him to run, before he changed his mind and decided to kill him for threatening his significant other like that. Bumblebee transformed back into a Camaro, and you two got out of there fast.
The next day, the security footage and audio were released and put on the news. Soon it spread to almost all of the major news networks on the planet. While Optimus understood why Bumblebee chose to protect you the way he did, he disapproved of his choice of violence.
Megatron
Megatron usually kept your relationship a secret from even his own allies. He didn’t want them to think he was an unfit leader for having a soft spot for a human that was originally a captive.
This changed one day when government agents from the FBI had arrested you and brought you in for questioning, as they believed that you were a collaborator for the Decepticons, which would classify as treason against the United States.
Megatron flew into a blinding rage when he learned of your capture. Using intel from Soundwave, he gathered every Decepticon he could muster and went into a full-scale assault on the FBI building you were being held in. He told the Decepticons to leave no survivors besides you.
Soundwave sent Rumble and Frenzy into the building to locate you, and within a few minutes, the Mini-Cons had found you. Breaking you free, they took you outside and back to Lord Megatron. Once you were safe with him, he ordered the Decepticons to level the building and kill anyone in their way.
He then flew you to the tallest building in the city, making it clear to everyone that he existed. He screamed to the people in the city that if anyone had the audacity to take or harm his lover, they would face the full wrath of the Decepticons.
Afterwards, the world stood mortified that one of their own species would align with the faction that wished to overthrow Earth’s governments and make the human race subservient to them. You scoffed when you learned of this. Megatron didn’t want to hurt or kill anyone unless they were a threat to him, the Decepticon cause, or you.
Starscream
One day you were on a mission with other military fighter pilots over hostile territory. Your mission was to destroy an enemy airfield so that the advancing ground forces could advance without having to worry about enemy air cover.
As you and the other pilots were advancing on the airfield, suddenly Starscream’s RWR started beeping in a high-low tone, indicating that something was tracking you with radar.
You and the other pilots were unnerved by this, and you began to panic when the RWR beep got even more aggressive, signaling that a missile was fired at you. Immediately you pulled hard and deployed flares to try to evade the missile.
Despite your best efforts, as well as Starscream’s, the missile connected, forcing Starscream out of his alt-mode and you ejected, with him catching you midair. Your squadron saw this and were shocked, the enemy was more shocked when Starscream landed at the airfield.
As Starscream clutched you, he began destroying and killing every person at the enemy airbase. How dare they try to kill you, and how dare they even attempt to damage him! Video footage was released of the incident on the internet and the world saw you and Starscream in full view.
A military investigative board questioned you for hours, but with a lack of any tangible evidence, they couldn’t discharge you. However, after the situation, many other military members called you a traitor to your own species for aligning with the Decepticons.

Anyway, just wrote it
When Soundwave and Starscream break free from GHOSTs facilities, Soundwave wants nothing more than to make Megatron suffer for his betrayal to the Decepticon cause. Starscream on the other hand, broken down and no longer the same due to his experimentation and torture, has a new perspective.
Megatron may have turned his back on the Decepticons, but that does not mean the others are not worth saving. Perhaps it is not vengeance Soundwave needs, but rather liberation and new direction.
__
“Come on.” Starscream’s hands were shaking as he reached down toward Soundwave, but though the injured mech was able to stand up on his own. The explosion from the breakout had indeed made contact with his frame, but not enough to hurt him. After all, he was not the one who had been subjected to years of torture and experimentation. That was Starscream.
Starscream took a step back as Soundwave stood and dusted himself off. He ex-vented quietly, looking around the scenery.
“We need to go and find shelter.” Starscream’s shaky voice echoed through the background. “We’re free, but if those agents find us, they’ll kill us. Especially us.” He added toward the end.
Soundwave said nothing. He simply gazed out toward the endless valley ahead of them, silently pondering.
For a moment, Starscream was silent as well. He still ached from experiments done previously, but he turned a foot away from Soundwave, and gazed back toward the hidden entrance they’d escaped from. He ex-vented, wings drooping.
“I…” he began. “The others.”
Soundwave turned to face him. “They’re probably going to be treated worse after this.”
“Not if we can help them.” Starscream shook his head. “We were Decepticon High command for a reason, we…we can’t just leave them.”
To anyone else, such character change would have been strange. Starscream was in the past self serving, crawling up from nothing and joining the ranks of the Deceptions was for both power and liberation. His past of abuse and mistreatment made him cold, and mostly distant to those who weren't his siblings or Megatron. Now however, after his ordeals and trials things were different, much different.
“Negative. It should be Megatron’s duty to save the people he led into a pointless war.” Soundwave spoke, malice tied in his tune. “But he is not here, rather, colluding with the Autobots and the humans while we starve and endure torture and pain.”
Starscream closed his eyes, as if he knew where this was going, as if he always knew where this was going. “Soundwave–”
“And you–” Soundwave took a step forward toward Starscream. “Have endured the most. The most humiliation through the years. You joined our cause after your abuse by Sentinel Prime, only to be abandoned here. We were all abandoned. How is he able to be free when we are not?”
Starscream shook his head, optics threatening to spill from his eyes. “We don’t have time to talk about that…to think about him. Our people are dying, they are suffering Soundwave! We have to do something–”
“We should kill him first–destroy that family he cares so much about.”
Now the two stood once again in silence. Starscream still trembled, but he managed to stand taller; the expression on his face changed ever so slightly. Tears poured from his optics out of both pain, anger, sadness and acceptance. Soundwave stood still, his emotions unreadable.
“And then what?” Starscream asked. “GHOST is on our tails again. Regardless of how you feel about him….he is apart of them, he is not…he is not ours anymore Soundwave. I…I know that’s hard to hear.”
Soundwave let out a low, angry growl at those words, and Starscream knew he had to be careful. Soundwave was a gladiator, second to Megatron. Despite their predicament now, Megatron was always kind to Starscream. He had indeed, seen him beat the ever living daylights out of others however he was never a victim to the end of his fists when they served together. Megatron was also more reserved; he wouldn’t beat to kill, simply to intimidate and gain information. That wasn’t him anymore however.  Soundwave was a wild card and would mercilessly kill and torture his enemies with fists and weapons. Sometimes Megatron had to stop him, and had to re-work Soundwave’s anger on himself.
Starscream could tell how angry Soundwave was now, and it was not smart to get in between him and his anger, but he had to do something.
“I know you loved him be…because I loved him too. But we have to stop, we have to let him go!”
“He made his choice, and we're making ours. He...he did what he had to do to survive! That has nothing to do with us now!” Starscream shouted. “Our people need us! We need to find the Nemesis, it has crashed here somewhere - GHOST has been looking we can find it before they do! Then we need to fix the groundbridge and go back…I don’t know….we need to leave and help our people. Megatron is not apart of this anymore, it is just us and we have to be leaders–please Soundwave I can’t…I can’t do this–”
Starscream quietly yelped in pain and grimacing he fell to the floor. The anger that Soundwave felt in that moment seemed to dissipate albeit temporarily. He knelt down and held Starscream close, cradling him almost.
“What is it?” He asked tenderly.
“My body…it hurts…some of the poison GHOST injected in me it…”
Soundwave remained silent and still held Starscream as tight as he could without hurting him. He scanned his internal systems and indeed saw an unknown fluid taking over his structure. However, Starscream’s body was easily fighting it off, that is what caused the most pain.
However, as Soundwave looked he saw…something else. Something pulsating near his spark…if it was even his spark. Something blue, powering through his system and wires, preventing GHOST and their poison from hurting him.
It was the Allspark. Soundwave had speculated Starscream had absorbed it years ago, that is why his eyes were blue. However, he never knew it was true. That is what was keeping him alive and keeping him safe.
Soundwave would ensure it stayed that way.
“They won’t hurt you again, no one will hurt you again.” Soundwave said, quietly.
“I’ll be fine,” Starscream spoke softly, looking into Soundwave’s visor. “Promise me you will help me save the others. Promise me. And we will lead the Decepticons off this planet and to freedom.” Starscream gasped as another wave of pain coursed through him. “Promise me that…that you won’t hurt Megatron or the humans he cares about.”
Soundwave looked away shamefully. “I cannot produce an adequate response. I will, however, help you save the Decepticons and we will lead them together. Megatron has left us, but we still have work to do.”
Starscream shut his optics and nodded.

01:00 - that was a dumb question.
01:14 - Optimus saying Wheeljack in a questioning tone is cuter than I expected.
01:34 - Arcee gets it.
01:36 - HE DIDN’T DENY IT, THEY ARE GAY FOR EACH OTHER!
01:52 - how does.. how does Soundwave have access to full body scans of the Autobots?
02:10 - and here we have waisted potential.
~intro~
03:27 - reference to previous episode nice.
03:45 - smart protocol.
03:55 - mmmm s u r e
04:05 - I don’t know how I feel about Bee so silent.
04:57 - go off, queen
06:12 - ✨Jackie✨
06:20 - so Arcee and Bee were useless.
06:35 - I want to punch her so bad. I’ll consider easing up on the Miko slander if someone can give me a good reason as to why she’s such a pain.
06:45 - hah. He looks so short compared to Optimus.
06:52 - I will never get over Optimus’s formality.
06:53 - I Don’t know why I haven’t mentioned it before, but I really like the way the metal actually has a reflection on it.
07:11 - Optimus randomly gets very expressive here, it’s adorable, but kinda sad considering that he’s not talking to the real Wheeljack
07:24 - sexy walk cycles
08:35 - Beautiful scenery ruined by MIKO.
08:48 - I used to be on a netball team with this girl that would throw passes really violently that the rest of the team would be scared to catch it (she caused my fingers to jar multiple times) - it just reminded me of that.
08:55 - SHH BEE BE(E)ING CUTE TIME.
Tumblr media
Look at hiiiiim
Actually, look at this scene.
There’s something so precious about Bee sitting on the floor, tapping his knees to the music, while right beside him Ratchet’s working.
08:57 - they’re throwing a circular object at each other, Jack. Take a while guess.
08:58 - Lobbing? Seriously? They were throwing it at each other’s stomachs. Lobs are high passes. I know, I know, they’re saying it’s a Cybertronian thing, but I’m nitpicking.
09:13 - I f o r g o t this part was in here! Raf dancing like a god and Bee’s head popping into frame like a giraffe.
Tumblr media
09:17 - Shh… I love it.
Tumblr media
09:19 - The moment Bee makes a sound, Ratchet stops what he’s doing to watch.
09:21 - Precious af.
09:25 - Jack’s obviously jealous of the way the two dance otherwise he wouldn’t have changed the subject, prove me wrong.
09:30 - I refuse to believe that. (Not to mention they’re not partying.)
09:34 - Raf and Bee dancing as the ball flies past is unexpectedly funny.
09:35 - that ball was gonna hit the ground.. how did it fly up??
09:37 - quick reaction time from Ratchet, goddamn.
09:38 - the wheels on his elbows were spinning as he moved and started to calm down.
09:39 - I’m surprised he didn’t threaten to kill them. I would’ve.
09:43 - I dunno why, but I really like the animation during this specific line. I think it’s because it’s slightly exaggerated so you can tell he’s annoyed, but it’s kinda comedic too.
09:57 - Ratchet feelin proud of himself at that moment. *Cri* look at hiiim
Tumblr media
10:08 - not suspicious at all.
10:42 - This story telling part is weirdly pretty to watch.
11:10 - These two looking fiiiine.
Tumblr media
11:13 - how long did it take y’all to realise that the laugh Bee just did was his equivalent to a full body laugh? I’ll tell ya, I only just realised.
11:26 - Bulkhead’s double take when he realised Wheeljack wasn’t paying attention.
11:31 - translation: *concerned boyfriend noises*
12:00 - I’m not the only one that feels uncomfortable from how that line was delivered, right?
12:32 - Reaction image right here.
Tumblr media
12:40 - Both of them looking up at Bulkhead is so cute I caaaan’t.
12:42 - Bee just in the corner. Also translation = *skeptical boyfriend nosies*
12:59 - When you say that their legs could kill.
13:46 - So no red flags going off for Miko? Seriously?
14:17 - Now appreciating the way the bots look down.
14:57 - the way his eyes moved
15:02 - live ratchet reaction.
15:11 - Mmm exaggerated movements, my love
15:18 - that has the energy of that one friend stealing a cookie.
15:25 - after all this time.. ALL THIS FUCKING TIME I REALISE THAT IT WASN’T JUST HIS LOWER JAW?!
Tumblr media
15:29 - ratchet: 😯
Tumblr media
16:29 - there was quite some buildup for that reaction.
17:57 - Gaaah
18:11 - Wheeljack needs some self help books, huh?
18:44 - rude.
19:44 - And he’s dead. Wasted potential.
19:51 - Another beautiful scene.
19:54 - what’d I tell ya? He’s jealous. Can’t dance nearly as well as Raf and Bee.
20:02 - hell yes.
20:10 - He’s so tall
20:32 - fuckin w h a t ?
20:36 - HE’S DOING IT AGAAAAAIN! FUCK OPTIMUS LOOKIN CUTE JUST BECAUSE HE’S VISIBLE HAPPY.
20:44 - Boyfriends.
21:14 - that… sounded weirdly sexual, right?
Mmmmm that was Con Job.
It was pretty alright, not a favourite ep of mine, but I’d rewatch it in a binge.

Okay, how would Breakdown react to the Predacons (also would he change sides in your story like they were planning originally?)
First thing's first: I'm so sorry it took so long for me to get around to this, i've been hyper-stressed lately because of a family emergency. (Missing family member that I grew up with...) Hopefully this makes up for it.
Tumblr media
In Transformers Prime: Seeking Salvation, Breakdown's role in the story is that of a supporting character, albeit a very important one.
♧ He survives the war here, and starts a family (Please don't get mad KOBD fans...but his S/O isn't KO here. Please don't kill me.) as he works a job he loves: a blacksmith. Despite his rough exterior and seemingly bovine attitude to those who judge by look, he is an incredibly creative mech who wants nothing more than to share that with the world.
♧ Here, Breakdown doesn't switch sides, but restores the Decepticons back to their original cause: ending classism and the functionist regime. He and the vehicons successfully manage to overpower the forces of the Nemesis in a planned mass coup, causing other cons who may not agree (Starscream, Megatron, Soundwave, maybe Shockwave?) To either step/stand down or flee.
♧ Most chose to flee. Megatron was wise to choose to stand down, knowing he was outnumbered and completely surrounded from all sides by those who used to fear him. Megatron would eventually disappear for a long time, not being seen until he eventually shows himself again to fend against Overlord.
♧ Breakdown is also a dear friend to Moonstriker, and Wildbreak attends the Iacon Academy alongside Starseeker, Fathom (You'll learn about Fathom soon), And twin predacons named Rough and Tumble. They're all good friends.
♧ Being friends with the new Predacon Queen has its perks. They often have long conversations together when Breakdown isn't busy helping with The Cybertronian Security and Safety Administration. He's a military mech who smiths weapons should anything or anyone threaten New Cybertron.
♧ Moon's practically an aunt to Wildbreak, watching him when his mother and father are busy. Any close friend of Moon's is family to her. Breakdown feels the same.

Number 23?
This ask game
Chaos Timelime, after the Survey Corps are informed about who Soundwave is.
——————-
Mikasa found herself wincing as she popped her shoulder into place in the infirmary. She didn’t want to tell anyone about her wound and decided to take care of it in private. It was better this way. The last thing the Survey Corps needed to worry about was another soldier down.
Mikasa rubbed her shoulder, reflecting back on earlier that day. When Sasha screamed to take cover, she didn’t expect to see another Cybertronian. And there was a possibility this one was spying on them for who knows how long. The bird the Cybertronian had caused her to dislocate her shoulder, and it was a miracle that she had mustered the willpower along with Levi to clip the bird, causing to to limp back to its owner. Soundwave: Megatron’s most trusted follower during the war, was now going to do everything in his power to destroy them all to get back at Megatron. Was the island going to pay for Megatron’s mistake?
Mikasa stood up from the bed, ready to leave the infirmary and go to the kitchen to get something cold for her shoulder. She opened the door and paused when she saw Megatron’s holoform looking down at her.
“I…I thought-,”
“Did they hurt you?” Megatron demanded.
“Did who?”
“Did Soundwave and Lazerbeak hurt you?” Megatron demanded, “I noticed the attack during the fight and you’ve been limping.”
“…it’s my shoulder,” Mikasa relented, “I popped it back in. It should be fine now.”
“Then rest,” Megatron ordered, “You’ll be needed at full strength to combat Soundwave.”
“…why didn’t you confirm that he wouldn’t be a threat?” Mikasa asked.
Megatron rolled his eyes. “I had my own issues to worry about at the time-,”
“You left him,” Mikasa reasoned, “You left your most loyal follower-!”
“To end my war!” Megatron yelled, “Do not twist my actions-!”
“Your actions might destroy my home!” Mikasa shot back, “You broke his trust, and he might kill us to get to you! What will you do then?! Will you abandon us then too?! When we need you most, will you abandon us?!”
Mikasa realized her mistake at her outburst and quickly covered her mouth. She was weak right now. She couldn’t fight at full strength. She genuinely expected Megatron to attack or threaten her, but he merely sighed in contempt and defeat.
“I have my own reasons for staying here, and you know that,” Megatron explained calmly, “But Soundwave is one of my errors that I need to rectify. I will ensure the island’s safety until Soundwave is eliminated.”
“…how can I trust you on that?” Mikasa demanded.
“…you can’t,” Megatron replied, “And you have no reason to. The only thing I can ask of you is that you do.”
Mikasa wasn’t satisfied with the answer. “I’m going to the kitchen.”
Mikasa moved passed Megatron and made her way down the hall.
“I…never meant to bring trouble to your doorstep,” Megatron proclaimed.
“That’s all you seem to do,” Mikasa declared in anger.
“…then when this is over, I will no longer bring trouble to your doorstep,” Megatron declared.
Before Mikasa could question what Megatron meant, he was gone.
(Jazz Hands Drama. Megatron and Mikasa’s dynamic would definitely be negatively affected by Soundwave’s appearance. I can tell you that much. Again, you are more than welcome to ask from the prompt above.)

What do you love about Prince Olympius from Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue? (I ask out of curiosity since you mentioned on here on your Tumblr that you find him hot and always thought he had a pretty face; I’m not saying this to be mean though, again, I’m just asking out of curiosity) 😈🐲❤️🔥😍🥰😘❤️‍🔥
Oh my God, that's a really nice question and a really long post.
So, first of all, I think he's hot and has a pretty face. He has a nice physique and his fins are really beautiful. And some nice green eyes actually. They're so beautiful to look at. I love those thunderbolts he has on his face. They give him the punk rock-ish look and he looks like he's wearing eyeliner for some reason but honestly, I don't give a shit cuz I love it.
Tumblr media
He looks really hot here *nosebleed* (There is a reason why this image of him is my Twitter profile picture)
Anyway, he's entertaining and really fascinating as a character once you pay attention to him. I mean, think about it. Why is he so pissed at Diabolico for example? Is it because he tried to kill him when he was an infant or because he was threatened by his power? (I think the former is true and tbh, it makes sense. Of course you would be mad at someone trying to kill you because they felt threatened by your power despite the fact that you haven't done anything to them. He's probably traumatised by that. And honestly, can you blame him tho?) Another thing is the facial expressions he makes. They kind of contrast Vypra. As if Vypra trying to act like a human, it fails miserably but he doesn't have to try to act like a human, because well, he naturally acts like a human, despite being a demon. They really add up to his character. I also feel sorry for him because his life is crap if you think about it (no one respects him, he was forced to grow up and got aged up, his mom is abusive towards him, Diabolico tried to kill him etc.) I view him as an unintentionally sympathetic and unintentionally tragic.
Another thing I love is his voice. I love the metallic tone of his voice. It reminds me of G1 Soundwave for some reason. But in Trakeena's Revenge, it was very aesthetically pleasing too.
In conclusion, I love him. (I will make a long ass post about him and him alone, analysis and whatnot)

@slientsounds
In his shaking servos, he gently cradled Laserbeak. He didn't show it, but he was frantic. Soundwave was barely hanging on to dear life himself but his mind was only on his deployer's well being.
Ratchet was, once again, faced with a hard decision. The choice between healer and protector, another challenge of being a caregiver and a soldier, of being compassionate and overthinking all circumstances.
He would not have hesitated to attend both of them when he was younger. He would not have have taken the time to try to weigh the lives of those around him, the potential dangers of healing them.
Soundwave was the backstut of the Decepticons for eons. He could have ran everything if he had ever wished to without Megatron. He could have rallied any remaining or returning Decepticons with little trouble, if he wanted to retaliate after everything that had occurred.
Ratchet did not understand continuing to follow someone who had clearly lost sight of their foundations, but he could comprehend being loyal to the only friend who had known you the longest, who knew more about you than anyone else ever would. Even when you disagreed with them.
But, Ratchet also knew that Soundwave had still shown mission priorities over needless violence, honor over slaughter. If he had wanted to, he could have killed the children, he had the opportunities to kill multiple Autobots, he could have even killed him (not that he enjoyed being electrocuted and abducted instead, but the lack of murderous tendency was nonetheless noteworthy).
If he helped Soundwave and Laserbeak, would it show peaceful intentions, and the desire to move past war? Would Soundwave accept that? Or would he only be restoring health to a powerful, threatening pair?
So many thoughts within the span of moments.
Ratchet made his decision, and slowly opened his hands. He did not take Laserbeak away, but he positioned himself close enough to hold the minicon if Soundwave consented.
"I don't want to harm either of you. You know I can help you, if you allow it."

What I appreciate about Transformers Prime episode 20 is the shot of Starscream landing on the ground after flying from the Decepticon ship down to Earth. He lands on his two feet and there is a loud sound because he is a big heavy machine. You can see how before the landing he shifts from his aircraft mode to his two-legged mode in the air and it's just 👌👌 It's so cool. There has been other scenes like that, but I always love to see it again 👏❤ Then there's the moment in the start of the episode when Starscream is talking to Soundwave about his role on the Decepticons and afterwards thanks Soundwave for listening 🥺 I don't know if he has ulterior motives for Soundwave in that moment, but in that moment it feels like Starscream is honestly appreciating Soundwave despite the fact that Soundwave is loyal to Megatron and it's very touching 💕
I have to mention the moment in the start of the episode, when Starscream is explaining himself to Megatron with Arachnid present. I love how the characters interact with each other in that scene. Starscream especially shines during that scene. I love how he wrings his hands. The way he later compliments himself in front of Arachnid when they are alone on Earth is great 😄❤ I love his personality and how his brain works. He is a great character and I'm so happy this series exists. I imagine that this episode was centered around the topic that Starscream had to go out and do the things that happened during this episode to pick himself up again after what happened in episode 19. In the start of this episode it feels like Starscream has given up. He is in a crisis, he feels defeated, he isn't trying to be the new Decepticon leader anymore but has decided to serve Megatron. In the end of the episode, after he has gotten to damage Arcee, he feels better. He has picked himself up and is ready to serve only himself once more. That kind of emotional journey is really cool to see 👏❤
During the fight between Starscream and Arcee in this episode I got to see more Starscream looking like a big machine who can kill you, especially when he was talking about how weak Cliffjumper was. In that moment he is circling Arcee while Arcee is circling him, and he is grinning evilly and looking big and dangerous, his metallic chest looking strong and his long arms looking malicious and ready to hurt you. He looks so dangerous holy sh**. A thing that shocked me was how Starscream had two "personalities" during this episode: a pathetic one and a malicious one and how quickly he was able to switch between the two. Afterwards I watched again the moments of him and I came to a conclusion that he is feeling threatened because of the way Megatron has threatened to end his life lately and that's why he is able to switch so quickly between the two "personalities": because he is feeling a bit tense and scared all the time in the back of his mind. It may not be in front of his mind, but I imagine that he is able to quickly find the reasons for acting small and pathetic when he needs to. Maybe he has always been able to do this. Other moment that I thought was cool was how Starscream attempts to scare Arcee so that she wouldn't kill him in the end of their fight. He put on his most pathetic face and told Arcee to kill him before Megatron does, trying to make her scared of how he showing these tragic emotions so openly. Arcee wasn't affected and was going to kill him anyway. That made Starscream really scared and made him quickly beg for mercy. I loved how Arcee didn't kill him in the end because she couldn't do it while Bumblebee was watching.

A Dream of Summer Rain (Chapter 1: A Job that Slowly Kills You)
CW: Mental illness, alcoholism, violence.
Read up to Chapter 25 here!
Available for purchase in ebook format here!
Ice and starlight and blood and death exploded inside her mind, forcing her back into the waking world, into the light she’d struggled so long to hide from.
Lacy’s eyes tore open. She’d had that dream again, and once again her sheets reeked of dry sweat, and her face contorted as the odor assaulted her. She groaned- she didn’t have enough quarters for laundry this week, so she’d have to either scrub these by hand or live with the stench for another seven days. She tossed them off her body and regretted it immediately as the glacial morning cold of early March in Michigan collided with her. The rhythm of rain outside threatened to lull her back to sleep, so she threw herself out of bed. She landed on the floor and pushed off the ground, stumbled forward around the garden of gears and cogs and springs and sprockets that bloomed on her bedroom floor.
Danny’s door was open and his room was empty: he’d already left for work. Lacy went into the bathroom, looked at herself in the mirror: diminutive, emaciated, and pallid. She hadn’t shaved in weeks, and her beard covered the entire bottom half of her face before merging with the growth on her neck and chest and everywhere else. Her brown eyes were heavy with exhaustion, weighed down by massive bags, while her brown hair was a cacophony of bedhead. She stripped, turned on the shower, and climbed in before the water had grown hot. She scrubbed herself until her skin stung, then climbed out and stared into the mirror with renewed loathing.
Danny had slid the day’s call-list under her door before he left for work. Lacy looked at it, flipped it over and groaned when she saw it was double-sided. She sat down at her desk, at her massive pile of half-assembled radios and the single rolo-dial telephone that sat atop it all, beneath the cross nailed to her wall- a gift from her old CCD teacher Drew, God rest his soul- and a Detroit Red Wings championship pennant, a gift from her best friend Danny. She loved ‘em, but she couldn’t bring herself to watch a game yet this whole season- the fuckin’ GM had no idea what he was doing. He was all about skill players, which meant the whole team was made of punk-ass bitches. Hadn’t been a brawl this whole season! Unbelievable.
On the floor of her room, Lacy had five fully-intact radios that she’d built herself from spare parts. She turned on all five of them, fiddled with them until she settled on a rock station, a pop station, a country station, a hip hop station, and a jazz station respectively. She sat down at her desk, closed her eyes, and let the spark in her heart warm. She reached a distinct mental finger towards each respective radio, listening until she heard the different soundwaves at the most basic, distinctive level. She twitched her fingers, one at a time, and the radios changed volumes without the dials even having to be turned. She overlaid the different radio waves on top of each other, and when she was finished, she’d crafted a layered tapestry of music, each level distinct but flowing into its neighbors, five discordant songs weaved into a single symphony. She’d only been able to stack two layers atop each other when she’d first started this, but she’d managed five a few months back and was now able to do so consistently. The denser the sound-cocoon got, the more comfortable it was. Lacy liked sound. You couldn’t see it. She didn’t have to see herself when dealing with it.
She picked up the phone, dialed the first number. “Hi, my name’s Liam O’Sullivan, calling from Woodrow Knives- would you like to purchase some knives?”
They did not. They never did. Danny usually had more luck with door-to-door sales. He’d gotten her this job when they’d first moved in together, and she was grateful for it, but it did mean having to talk to… People. Ugh. But hey, at least she got to play with the knives. That was certainly a plus. And so, she dialed the next number and asked the questions, twirling a carving knife between her fingers like a pen.
“I, uh,” the woman’s voice on the other end said. Lacy envied the woman’s sweet voice; it was the opposite of her own gruff snarl. “Sorry, do you hear something in the background?”
Lacy twitched her fingers, and the musical tapestry decreased its density. “No.”
“Oh, well, never mind. Who did you say you were?”
“Liam O’Sullivan, calling from Woodrow Knives.”
“No you didn’t.”
“Yes, I did.”
“No, no, you said your name was Lacy.”
Lacy’s already-pale face blanched paper-white. “That’s not true.”
“No, I’m sure you said your name was Lacy. And I thought that was an unusual name for a young man-”
Lacy slammed the phone into the receiver. She spent the next twenty minutes staring at a blank spot on the wall directly ahead of her, listening to her music, until finally she picked back up her phone and dialed the next number. She made sure she said her name was Liam that time, the words ashes in her mouth.
The day went by, and she ran down the list until she was done. Once she was finished, she cleaned the house from top to bottom, same as she always did while Danny was at work. As long as everything else was spotless it didn’t matter if her room was a mess.
After that, she resumed what she’d been doing before passing out the previous night: fixing the old radio she’d picked up at the shop two months ago. An old man named Harry had sold it to her from the back of his mobile home and had said it was broken beyond repair, at which point Lacy accepted the challenge. She picked up her screwdriver and opened it up and, fanning her spark again, channeled the tiniest bit of lighting and gave it a burst of power. She put it back together and then reached inside again with her magic, attempting to coax noise out of it. She felt radio waves around her and bound them to the box, and a new layer was added to her tapestry. It was reggae music- not her personal favorite, but she could see the appeal. She cupped the radio on both sides, but then a spark shot out of her hands and the music turned to static. “No nonono-FUCK!” she said, slapping the box with her left hand.
The static shot up and down in its pitch, and then it ceased altogether and left a cavity of silence in its place. Then, after another moment, a familiar voice came through and said, “Why did God topple the Tower of Babel?” “... D-Drew?” she said in a tiny whisper.
“Why did it have to fall?” Drew said.
Lacy’s eyes bulged and her fingers spread wide and stiffened. She wrapped her hands around the radio and gripped tight.
The reggae music returned.
Lacy slammed her head onto her desk and groaned.
She spent the next three hours repeatedly disassembling and reassembling the radio, attempting to retrieve the voice. She shut off all her other music so that she could give it her entire focus, so that her ears would only have one thing to decipher for once. She hated having to concentrate, hated having to dwell within and utilize her conscious mind for this long, but sometimes life asked you to do deeply unpleasant things.
After a while, she heard a knocking on her door. “Hm?” Lacy grunted.
“Lacy, your food is outside your door,” Danny said. He’d made dinner for her again- that was nice of him.
“Thanks,” Lacy said.
“You gonna actually eat it this time?”
“Yeah.”
“You said that last time.”
“Yeah.”
“When was the last time you ate?”
“Yeah.”
“Oh for fuck’s sake,” Danny said. “Lacy, you said you’d start eating at least once a day consistently. I’m leaving this outside. You better goddamn eat it.”
Lacy went back to work. A couple of hours later, her stomach growled, and she got up and retrieved the chicken salad sandwich Danny had left for her. She stood up, ate half of it, then put it down on the plate in the hallway and closed the door again. She could finish it later.
She sat down at her radio and began disassembling it for the twentieth time that day when her ears twitched. She heard something. Something outside. Something approaching the bungalow at an alarming rate from the swath of woods behind it.
She grabbed a knife she’d hidden under her bed a few months back, after the attacks had started getting more regular. It was a kitchen knife, meant for chopping meat. Hopefully that wouldn’t be necessary. Cold, fresh air forced itself down her lungs for the first time all day as she stepped outside. All the worlds’ noise came flooding in at once, and she stopped short and closed her eyes and winced as she adjusted. After a few moments breathing, listening, she opened her eyes and went around to the backyard. It was fenced in, a square lot of about twenty yards of grass. The forest began behind it, an ocean of beech trees standing tall and verdant. Heavy gray clouds clung to the sky and blocked out the moon and the stars, and a cold moisture was thick and palpable in the air. Their one-story house, made of brick and cement, sat on the outskirts of Grand Rapids, a half-hour north of town by car. The next nearest house was a half-mile up the dirt road through the forest, while further north simply revealed further and further wilderness.
Out from the forest, descending from the north, came a man with slate-gray skin and blood-red eyes, fangs spilling out a bloody maw, claws hacking wildly at the air as he ran forward.
A ghoul.
Lacy’s eyes went wide. That was why she hadn’t heard a heartbeat- only footsteps. Her own heartbeat’s thunder filled her ears, her mind, her soul. She desperately groped for breath, reaching for strength. Ten years of self-taught training: this was the point of it all. She fanned the ember in her heart, let the energy gather within her, then released it.
Sound diminished in the surrounding area, descending into a claustrophobic silence. Heat and pressure built up in her arm, surging and pulsating with an exhilarating strength. Lightning hurdled from her palm towards the ghoul and struck it, the rancid aroma of dead flesh aflame congesting the cold, damp night.
Lacy watched the monster burn. They were getting more frequent in their attacks. It used to be once every month or two, but ever since she’d turned twenty-one back in December they’d been coming at least once a week.
Lacy stood over the fire, her right arm limp as it often was after she’d wielded a full-on lightning bolt. With her left hand, she snapped her fingers, and the sound came crashing back into the world.
She grabbed a shovel from the garage and dug a grave. It probably wasn’t necessary- the ghoul’s flesh burned like paper, and all that remained at the end were silver ashes accented with violet flecks. Still, better safe than sorry. She buried the kill deep in the ground, and then she went back inside and crawled into bed, offering a prayer thanking God for helping her survive yet another ordinary day.
***
Danny woke up on the floor with his head throbbing, his blankets strewn about after another night tossing and turning. That was certainly irritating- he was pretty sure he’d drunk enough before bed to not have any nightmares. Have to try harder tonight, then. An extra shot or two couldn’t hurt.
He fumbled for his cellphone on his nightstand, hitting the alarm button on the screen to silence the horrible shrill sound. He scrolled through his phone, the light from the screen illuminating his overstuffed bookshelf filled with door stopper fantasy novels.
Five new text messages from Mom, all nagging him about his contributions to the company that he’d promised would be handled by the end of the fiscal quarter. She was expecting a call that night. Lovely.
He dragged himself into the bathroom, leaving a trail of water around the sink as he washed his face and trimmed his beard, and another puddle on the floor after he showered.
Ten new messages from his older sister, all about how she was gonna come and see him soon, but how it was going to be a surprise. He clenched his jaw. He’d have to arrange something to keep busy with, avoid dealing with her- put in a few minutes facetime and then get to ignore her most of the next year.
He dressed himself in a red button-down and khakis, then went into the kitchen and made himself steak and eggs and a cup of black coffee. He poured a whisky shot into the black, then downed a gulp, and suddenly the world seemed much more manageable.
One new message from Dad. It was about the idea they’d discussed for the business moving forward, something that had first crawled out of the recesses of Danny’s mind when he was seventeen. Danny stared at it for twenty minutes, and when he’d finished his Irish Coffee, he texted a ‘y’ in response. An abyss in his stomach bellowed that was a terrible idea, but what was done was done.
He had another Irish Coffee, then he knocked on Lacy’s door. “You alive in there, Lace?”
“Yeah, I’m fine,” she called. “Just getting to work on today’s calls.”
“You ate yesterday?” “Yes, Danny, I ate yesterday.” “You’ll eat again today?” “Yes, Danny, I’ll eat again today.” “Just making sure. I’m heading out. See you later.” “Bye.”
He left behind his best friend, whom he rarely ever got to hang out with anymore, whom he rarely ever saw leave her bedroom anymore. She’d just retreated further and further into herself since they’d moved here. Maybe it’d been a mistake, but they’d both needed to get far away from their hometown, and Grand Rapids was all they could afford on the money they earned from Woodrow Knives.
House to house. Door to door. Business to business. Selling knives. The day rolled by, as it always did, one action after another propelling him closer and closer to his next serving of liquid relief. He drove his truck through the rain and made his sales quotas, and as the day faded into evening he passed a church named for Saint Matthias.
He went inside and climbed into the confessional booth. He heard the priest sit down on the other side.
And Danny said nothing.
He sat there for thirty minutes before the priest simply left.
Danny crawled out of the church, the rain drenching him as he skulked to his car. When he got home, Lacy was still in her room, five different genres of music pouring out from the gaps in her closed door.
His phone buzzed. It was Mom.
He’d already dealt with Dad today. Just this once, he let himself ignore Mom’s call. He went into the liquor cabinet and brought a bottle with him into his room.
It was all a pleasurably miserable slush of sounds and sights and sensations after that.
***
“Hi. Gwen. Alcoholic,” Gwen said, the circle of chairs expanding on both sides around her. They sat in the basement of Saint Mattias’ church, lamps placed in the four corners brightening the cramped space above the navy blue carpet. Paintings of scenes from the Old Testament decorated the walls: The Parting of the Red Sea, Jonah and the Whale, the Tower of Babel.
“Hi Gwen,” the group said collectively.
Like every meeting she’d been to, they were a varied bunch. All ages, ethnicities, genders. They were united by their eyes, their shared looks of frustration and bitterness and hope. They were all here together, and they were all here to listen.
“It’s been five years, three months, one week, and two days since I last drank,” Gwen continued, repeatedly wringing her hands together as she spoke. “It’s been a month since I’ve last been to a meeting. Figured I shouldn’t stretch that any longer- I was already starting to get the urge again. I guess I’ve been feeling lately like I don’t deserve anything, because even after all these years I still feel the urge. And things have been… Going better lately. My boyfriend, we’ve been long distance for a bit now, but… I think things are getting serious. Really serious. ‘I think he’s looking at rings’ level-serious. And I’m… I’m thrilled that’s what he’s doing. Thrilled he wants to spend his life with me. But I’m still wondering if I remotely deserve it. Deserve him. We dated for years while I got worse and worse, until finally it… Finally I torpedoed our relationship. My drinking was always a sticking point… He’s a good Mormon boy, never touched a drop in his life. What he saw in me I’ve never been clear on. But I got clean… I wanted to get clean. And I went to apologize to him, and he pointed me towards a rehab facility. And when I got out, we started working together again, started getting close again… And it just happened. I didn’t think I deserved to have him as a friend, let alone a partner. I’ve screwed up so many things in my life, so many relationships, romantic and otherwise. And I’m still just left wondering when I’m gonna wake up from this beautiful dream where I have an amazing man who loves me and I’ll find myself back in the nightmare I inevitably make for myself wherever I go. That’s it… I’m done.”
The meeting went by too quickly. She put a few dollars in the donation box, then stepped outside. Back in the real world again, in the cold night air of the Michigan spring. She went into the parking lot outside the church and stood in front of her silver Prius, leaning against the car and tying her shoulder-length golden blonde hair into a ponytail and lighting a filtered cigarette. The smoke mixed with the smell of petrichor, swirling around her beneath the canopy of stars. She checked her phone. New message from Quentin- that brave, beautiful man was working a job in North Dakota with Joshua and Isabella. They were a hell of a team. Gwen had ridden with them the past few months, but life had guided her elsewhere, towards unfinished business.
Step Nine, as it were. No, not ‘as it were.’ Step Nine, plain and simple. Making amends to the people she’d let down because of her drinking.
When the final car cleared out of the church parking lot, and the streets were clear, Gwen stubbed out her cigarette and tapped a hand to her chest. A storm of cosmic power brewed in her chest, and a glowing white sphere of burning light, no bigger than a basketball, emerged from her heart. Her Star. Her Destiny.
Her body resonated with its heavenly song, her joints aching less, her hunger diminishing, her exhaustion dissipating. The Star shot off towards the north, and Gwen hopped into her car and followed it.
***
Two nights in a row. That was not normal. And definitely not good.
Lacy stuck out her palm and tried to hurl lightning, but produced only sparks. For the third time in the last month. “Shit!”
She tried something else she’d been working on- channeling the lightning through the knife itself, holding the charge. She focused, fanned the spark in her heart, channeled. The blade crackled with blue lightning… Only for it to immediately peter out.
“SHIT!”
The ghoul jumped over the fence and continued its charge. She stood her ground and brandished her knife, and to her surprise the wind around her began to shift and rise in cold, sharp turns. It flowed around her skin, in between her hairs and over the sensitive flesh. The ghoul leapt at her, and became trapped in the swirling tempest. Lacy stared as the ghoul’s claw stopped less than an inch from her face, as the ghoul struggled against the bonds. The ghoul snarled. There was a cadence to the snarling, a rhythm, an annunciation- he was probably saying something, or trying to but couldn’t. His mouth was overstuffed with sharp fangs, his face elongated and his slate-like skin chipped and flaky. His face almost looked like it was falling off even as the creature tried to clamp its jaws around her throat. Above her, there was a humming, a throbbing from the sky itself. As if the stars themselves, reaching for the earth with their memories of light, bled their souls upon the world.
Except one was not a memory. One floated directly above the world, and when it saw Lacy and sensed her doing magic, it descended from the sky to find her. Blue starlight, fresh and new, reaching for her. The small sphere, barely bigger than her head, settled five feet above her, and offered her its light.
Dread and anxiety festered deep inside Lacy’s stomach, a fundamental rejection of the starlight that occurred each and every time it was offered to her, and the wind slackened. The ghoul broke free and pounced onto her, pinning her to the ground, and Lacy plunged her knife into his shoulder.
The ghoul cried in pain and fell back… But then yanked the knife from his shoulder. The stainless-steel blade gleamed with black blood, and he wiped the flat on his tongue.
“SHIT!” Lacy screamed.
The ghoul brandished a feral smile. He was definitely saying something, but it was lost in his hideous rage and hunger.
Lacy threw wild punches at the ghoul, flailing her arms in a desperate attempt to create distance between the two of them as she scrambled off the ground. She needed distance, and she needed to find a weak spot to focus her attack on. The ghoul swatted her hands away with his claws, scratching her arms and drawing blood. Finally, he grabbed hold of both her hands and loomed over Lacy, fangs closing in on her face. Lacy’s fear-induced paralysis reached a totality, saturating every fiber of her being as if liquid nitrogen flowed through her veins.
A rustling shook the beech trees as footsteps carried a new heartbeat into the fray. New, and yet familiar. Lacy heard the words and the voice for the second time in her life: “Toter engel.”
The forest darkened a half-shade. Lacy’s small blue star hesitated, as if no longer sure of where to go, as if its map had been stolen mid-journey. It stopped, confused, before returning to the night sky.
An angel of white light seared the black night, charging forth from the forest and slamming into the ghoul. The ghoul dropped dead on top of Lacy, and she howled in confusion and fear. She rolled out from under the ghoul and pawed at herself, desperately trying to remove the stain of the monster’s fingerprints. The cuts on her hands and forearms stung, and crimson droplets fell from her skin and onto the ground. Finally, when she laid flat on her back, she opened her eyes and looked up to find a familiar face.
It was the woman from ten years ago, the night Drew died. Her hair, now golden blonde rather than white, had grown out to shoulder length, and her face bore the weight of a decade gone by. She wore a black leather jacket over a white top and blue jeans and brown boots, and she had a thin horizontal scar underneath her right eye. “Hello again,” Gwen said, breathing heavily. “Do you remember me?”
“Yeah,” Lacy spat. “I do.”
“It’s Liam, right? Liam O’Sullivan?”
“Yes,” Lacy lied, clawing at her terrible mass of facial wool.
“It’s been a while.”
“It has. Why are you here?” Lacy asked.
Gwen offered her a hand up, and Lacy ignored it and pushed herself off of the ground.
Gwen blinked, and her outstretched hand retreated. “I was tracking this ghoul and it wound up here.”
“Seems… Likely,” Lacy said. What are you doing here? There’s no way this is a coincidence, not with the attacks getting more and more frequent, she thought.
“Well, it might be more complicated than that.”
Clearly. “In what regard?”
“How much time do you have?”
Lacy’s gaze tore away from Gwen as she folded her arms over her chest. “Not enough.”
Gwen cocked an eyebrow. “Well, if you’d like, I can explain on the way.”
“On the way to what?”
“Training. You still wanna be a monster hunter?”
For a second, a nostalgic sense of escape echoed through her brain, long-neglected synapses firing in the process. Once, this looked like the only way out of the dark. But now…  “No,” Lacy said. “No, I don’t think so.”
Gwen blinked again. “Are you sure? You seemed pretty eager last time.”
What the fuck is wrong with this woman? She shows up after a decade and acts like I’m still in the exact same spot. Lacy thought. “Yeah. I’m sure. Are there gonna be more of these things around here?”
Gwen put her hands in her pocket. “Maybe.”
“Maybe?”
“I’m gonna stick around here for a bit, make sure they don’t.”
“Okay,” Lacy said. “Now please leave.”
Gwen squinted. “Hell of a thanks for saving your life.”
“Well, I didn’t ask you to.”
“Yeah, you seemed like you had it under control there.”
“Doesn’t matter!” Lacy said. “You’ll get rid of this thing’s body?”
“Yeah, I can handle it,” Gwen said flatly. “Guess that’s my job around here.”
“Guess so,” Lacy said as she turned around and went back inside. The door collapsed behind her, shutting Gwen out as Lacy tried not to think about her, tried not to picture what she did next. Tried not to listen to the sound of Gwen hauling the body away into the forest, of it burning in a pyre contained only by the bounds of Gwen’s magic. Tried not to listen to the world outside as it raged on without her; tried not to listen to the hideous screeching of all the things that wanted to kill her. She crawled into the shower and let herself soak until the hot water ran down, and then she dragged herself into bed, said her ‘Our Father’ and her ‘Hail Mary’, and fell asleep.

Cursed Bond
Chapter 19
---------------
After a couple of days passed, Arcee finally started waking up. She winced when she felt pain shooting through her aching body, "Ugh, blasted Starscream."
"You're lucky he missed your spark," Knockout spoke as he checked her over to make sure everything was functioning properly.
"Is Starscream still here?"
"No, he left the ship when Megatron brought you here."
"Figures, he's a sneaky bastard."
"Yeah. Hopefully, the next second in command will be better," Knockout smirked.
"Who's the next second in command?"
"Airachnid, sadly."
Arcee rolled her optics, "She's no better. The sooner I can get off the ship and back to my team the better. Airachnid will most likely use her new role to try even harder to kill me off."
"Not if you stay close to Megatron, besides I don't think she'll even try anything for a while," the red mech said as he looked at her.
"Yeah, Megatron got her too scared for the moment, but eventually the fear will wear off and she'll try again."
Arcee was right and she was lucky that Soundwave was by her side, but neither he nor Megatron could be with Arcee all the time. She would be safer with the Autobots.
"Airachnid is lucky Lord Megatron didn't give her another beating after the second attempt on your life, I think he forgot with everything that happened with Unicron and all," Breakdown stated.
"Or he figured she got a good enough beating from Soundwave. Either way, he won't let her go unpunished if she tries again."
"How long have I been out?" Arcee asked as she slowly sat up.
"A couple of days."
Venting out a sigh she wondered if she could try to get Optimus off the ship.
"Lay back down, you're still injured," Knockout told her as the door opens and Megatron comes in. Laying back down she looked at Megatron, she could tell something was bothering him.
"You're awake. How are you feeling?" Megatron inquired as he walked up to her.
"I'm alright, thank you. How's Orion?"
"He's doing good."
Arcee nodded and tried to think of a way to get Optimus back to the others.
"When can she come out of med-bay?" Megatron asked Knockout.
"I would like for her to stay for a few more days, just to be safe," Knockout replied, "An explosion like that is serious and she does have a bit of damage, though not life-threatening thankfully," he added.
"Next time I see Starscream I'm gonna tear him apart," Megatron said with a low growl.
"Make sure you save a piece of him for me," Arcee huffed but she had a small smile on her face.
"Will do."
Knockout smiled, glad that the two were starting to get along.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After a couple of days, the Autobots found a Space Bridge they could use to get to Cybertron, thanks to Starscream. They were getting Jack and Wheeljack ready to go, "Alright, we should be all set," Ratchet says as he begins opening up a Ground Bridge to the destination where the 'Cons' Space Bridge is.
"Man, I wish I was going," Miko pouted.
"I wish Jack wasn't going. I just hope he'll be ok," June stated, she was worried about her son going to another planet.
"Don't worry, I'll make sure he gets back home safely," Wheeljack promised, he understood the worry Mrs. Darby had. It was the same thing with Halogen and Arcee. June just nods as she watches her son leave with the 'Bots through the Ground Bridge.
The 'Bots get to the location and take down the drones that were there. Ratchet runs over to the computer and opens up the Space Bridge. Taking a deep breath Jack looked back before walking through the Space Bridge, Wheeljack close behind him.
"Alright, they're through. Let's keep a look out for any 'Cons that may call in or something, no doubt we'll get a call from them since they won't be hearing from the drones here," Ratchet says as he looks back at the dead drones.
"Got it," Bulkhead replied.
"Ratchet, did Jack and Wheeljack make it through?" Fowler asked over the comm.
"Yes, now all we have to do is wait and keep the Decepticons from coming here," Ratchet replied with a hint of worry.
Fowler looked over to June who had a worried look on her face, "Ok," he then said.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jack looked around his new surroundings, he was in awe that he was on Cybertron, "This is incredible."
But Wheeljack looked a bit sad, "Yeah, but this isn't how the planet is supposed to look. It used to look a lot better."
"What was it like before?" Jack asked when he noticed the sad look.
"It was beautiful, buildings were upright, high into the sky. Everything looked nice and shiny, the streets were filled with Cybertronians going wherever they had to go. This planet was so beautiful and so full of life and now it's this, all due to the war."
Jack looked around again, hearing Wheeljack explain this made him remember when Bulkhead told them the story about him and Arcee, "Is there a way to get it back to normal?"
"So far we got no way to restore it, but we're still looking."
Jack nodded and looked around again, "So where is this key anyway?"
"Just below Kaon," Wheeljack replied before he transformed.
Getting in Jack sat in silence while Wheeljack drove, watching the dead planet zoom by. He wished Arcee was back with them. Wheeljack was feeling the same. Driving through Cybertron made him think back to when he spent time with Arcee, "We'll get her back, somehow," Jack spoke up after a while, "And Optimus."
"Yes, we will kid."
After a while, they made it to the location of the key and headed inside. But before they got in they were attacked by an Insecticon who were at the entrance. The Insecticon jumped on Wheeljack and he just rolled and flipped the Insecticon over before tossing him to the side. Jack ran for the nearest cover he could find and watched the fight, "Jack, get in there and get the Matrix!" Wheeljack shouted to him as he held back the Insecticon. With a nod Jack ran inside the building, he hoped that he wouldn't get lost.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"How are you doing?" Megatron asked Arcee when he entered the med-bay.
"I'm alright, other than being sore," she shrugged.
"That's good. I have been thinking over stuff and I had thought if it wasn't for your father inviting me to have Energon with you two as a way of trying to get me on the side of the High Council we wouldn't have met and I wouldn't have fallen in love with you."
Arcee let out a soft sigh, she missed her father every day, "I guess."
"Bet you miss him a lot."
"I do, every day."
I wonder if she knows. "Did you hear about how he died?"
She closed her optics, still able to remember every detail, "I didn't have to hear how he died!" She spoke with a venomous tone as she opens her optics and glared at the warlord, "I saw what you did to him!"
Megatron's optics went wide, "You saw?" She was in the house? How did I not know she was still in the house?
"Yes, I saw," she growled with narrow optics. I may be on the mend but as soon as I'm healed I will take your spark myself.
"Well, he shouldn't have gone back on his word. If he didn't go back on his word you wouldn't be in this situation now."
"Then you shouldn't have attacked the High Council," she countered.
"They were doing wrong on the planet and had the nerve to refuse me the title of Prime."
Arcee turned her helm away so she wouldn't have to look at him, "And look at what happened, Cybertron is gone."
"I'm also sad that we lost our home planet and I want it back just as much as you do, but what's done is done."
Arcee let out an angry sigh, unsure of who she should be mad at. All she really wanted was to be with Wheeljack. Just then a drone came running in, "My lord, the drones at the sight of the Space Bridge isn't reporting in like they're supposed to. We believe something is wrong."
Megatron looked to Arcee, who refused to look at him, before letting out a sigh, "I'll be right there," he told the drone.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ratchet, Bulkhead, and Bumblebee was waiting for word from Wheeljack when a Ground Bridge opened up and Megatron walked through, "Just as I figured, the Autobots are trying to get their leader back. Well, no matter what you try you won't get him back."
"We need to keep Megatron busy until Jack gets back with the Matrix," Ratchet told the Autobots as he transformed his servo into his scalpel.
"The Matrix? I see. Judging that the Wrecker Wheeljack isn't with you I'd say he's with the kid."
The three remaining Autobots charged, praying they could buy Jack and Wheeljack some time.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jack was getting the Matrix when the Insecticon came flying through the passageway. Jack got the idea to send the scraplets at it, which was chowing down on the Matrix loader. The scraplets disposed of the Insecticon and Jack got the Matrix when it was done, he then headed out to meet up with Wheeljack. Once they meet up the two head back, "Ok guys, we got the Matrix, we need a Ground Bridge," Wheeljack called Ratchet.
But there was no response as they all were taken down by Megatron.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Arcee got up off the berth in med-bay. This was her chance to help Optimus get back to the others and be the Prime again.
As she slowly made her way to the archives, Orion was ambushed by the two drones that were guarding him. Orion was blocking their attacks when suddenly his servos transformed into his guns and he fired at them, killing them both. Arcee walks in and Orion looks at her, "I have guns?"
"Yeah," she smiled as she helped him up.
"How are you feeling?" He asked as he got up.
"I'm alright, I'll be even better once we get you off this ship."
"Why do I have guns?" He asked as he followed her to the Ground Bridge control room.
"You had them installed when you became Optimus Prime, to help fight in the war," Arcee explained as she opened the door to the Ground Bridge control room.
"Oh, I see."
Arcee opened up a Ground Bridge to the location of the Space Bridge where everyone was and she and Orion walked through.

The Return Of A Lost Friend Part 6
Meanwhile on the Nemesis, Megatron was enraged about what happened as the others just watched on from a fair distance to not get caught with their leader's temper.
"RAHHHHHHH!!! The Dark Energon was within my grasp! Until that little human pest destroyed it and not only that but she was able to bring back life to a dead Cybertronian! How is it possible?!" Megatron growled angrily as he let out a roar of frustration. Everything was going smoothly but that human girl destroyed his plans to get more energon.
"Well..., my liege, to... to be honest... I have no idea. You see, the legends say that the Sword of Creation has unknown powers. Maybe reviving Cybertronians is one of these powers." Knock Out said sheepishly since he read something about the sword that he saw the human girl used but he only got a threatening glare from Megatron.
"Instead of telling me what I know, you should tell me what I don't know!" Megatron yelled at him since he knows what the legend states of the sword of creation or sword of Primus but he just didn't understand why and how.
Soundwave walk towards the computer and replayed what happened at the battle moments ago and showed Megatron and the others what happened earlier when Emily grabbed the Dark Energon shard and they took notice that she seemed to be in so much pain as they noticed that her optic-eye were an eerie purple.
"Hey check it out." Breakdown watched the footage curiously and couldn't help but shiver at the sight of the eerie purple color and the aura surrounding the girl. It all just seemed so dark to the feeling.
"Hmm... oddly weird. Energon could cause negative effects on human biology and yet this little human girl was able to grab it." Knock Out informed since he found it strange how the little human was able to grab the shard and not get any symptoms from even touching it since he knows that humans and Energon don't go well together.
"So why was she acting like that?" Airachnid grew interested in the footage as she watched how the human girl was trying to fight for control as if fighting someone.
"That's a total mystery." Knock Out agreed with Airachnid since they don't know how or why.
"Or maybe it's not. It seems that this human girl could not control the power of Dark Energon. If we had some, we could use it to control her." Megatron observed the footage closely and took down the information on what he was seeing.
"Too bad the Dark Energon was destroyed." Breakdown reminded them since they didn't get one measly shard.
"Speaking of which. Where is Starscream?" Airachnid asked as she noticed the absence of the seeker.
"He's checking the mine. To think that is because of this massive brute that my Finnish got ruined. I mean look at that." Knock Out complained as he noticed that his paint job was ruined again as he sent Breakdown a glare.
"Well next time try to hit an Autobot instead of me." Breakdown sneered at him as he could still feel the pain from getting hit by Knock Out instead of him hitting Bulkhead.
"Oh, please. None of you could hit an Autobot." Airachnid told them smugly since she was able to hit Arcee and injured her.
"Oh really? Look who's talking. You were able to hurt the Autobot called Arcee and yet you failed to kill her." Knock Out sneered at her as she sneered back with an angered hiss.
"Perhaps I can remedy this situation by taking care of you!" Airachnid hissed angrily as she was ready to take Knock Out down as Knock Out sneered at her.
"You just try it!" This escalated to a full blown argument as Dreadwing and Soundwave just watched on in amusement and this made Megatron more pissed off as he turned around and growled loudly.
"ENOUGH! I will not tolerate your childish bickering inside my ship!" This caused the arguing trio to stop instantly but were sending each other death glares.
"Forgive us, Lord Megatron." Airachnid apologized as she sent a glare to Knock Out who glared back while Dreadwing shook his head at them before turning to Megatron.
"Lord Megatron." Dreadwing called as he took notice that Megatron was calming down slightly.
"What is it, Dreadwing?" Megatron asked curiously as he turned to the other seeker.
"I received Starscream's report from the mine and I think you should see what he found." This made them all curious and interested as they all went to the lab to see what Starscream found.
They arrived there and noticed the dimmed crystal on the table and they knew that it was Dark Energon but it was a faded purple color as this confused them. How can there still be Dark Energon? The explosion blew the whole place up.
"A Dark Energon crystal?" Megatron asked curiously as Starscream entered right after they entered.
"How is it possible? Nothing could've survived that explosion." Knock Out said as he took a closer look and noticed that it was faded and didn't give out that bad vibe.
"Apparently Dark Energon can. It's prodigious to see how this very rare form of Energon survived but it's completely useless. If you look at it, it's completely drained as if-" Starscream started only to be cut off by what happened next.
The Dark Energon crystal starts glowing and Megatron's own Dark Energon shard is pulsating as if it activated the dormant crystal as the shard started to regain its power which shocked them all.
"This... cannot be." Starscream looked shocked as he took hold of the shard and noticed that it was now a dark energon shard as Megatron started to laugh by the turn of events.
"Hahahahaha. It appears that this Dark Energon shard has been activated by my very will." Megatron smirked evilly as he was starting to like what will happen if they gather more.
"Quite impressive, my liege." Knock Out was surprised by this but was liking it slowly as Megatron turned to the seeker.
"Starscream, go back to the mine and bring back more of these crystals. Breakdown will accompany you." Megatron ordered as the seeker just bowed down as Breakdown nodded.
"Yes, master." Starscream complied as Megatron turned to Knockout to give him instructions.
"Knock Out, I want you to examine this Dark Energon sample and try to explore weaponry possibilities." Megatron handed the shard to Knock Out who took it carefully in his servos and was careful not to break it.
"Right away, my liege." Knock Out went to where his equipment was to start the research as Starscream started heading out to prepare the orders given to him.
"I'll prepare our mining team for the task." Starscream said as Airachnid decided to taunt him.
"I hope you will have learned how to kill an Autobot by the time you get back." Airachnid taunted him and caused Starscream to growl at her before he left with Breakdown following to start the mining process.
Dreadwing approached Megatron since he was curious about what he had in mind for the Dark Energon that will regain its power.
"Lord Megatron, if I may ask. What good could Dark Energon provide us?" Megatron turns to him as Dreadwing can see that he was formulating a plan for their newest target.
"A lot of good and perhaps maybe give us control of a certain asset that belongs to the Autobots." Megatron said as he started to think of the things he can do using Dark Energon to control Emily.
Meanwhile back at the Autobots base, Arcee's status was stabilized as Cliffjumper was being checked from head to pede by Ratchet, the kids were talking about the fact that Emily's sword brought back Cliffjumper from the dead as they still couldn't believe it.
"I can't believe that a sword was able to bring back Cliffjumper." Miko said as she was sitting on the couch as Emily was leaning against the railing with her hands in her pockets.
"Me neither. I bet Arcee won't believe it either when she wakes up." Jack said as he thought on how Arcee would react to seeing her once dead partner was alive.
"She's gonna think that she might be dreaming or dead." Raf smiled as Emily just giggled at the thought before they looked up to see that Wheeljack went up to them.
"Hey speaking of the dead. I've gotta go back there and find my ship." Wheeljack remembered that his ship was back at the mines and had to retrieve it as Bulkhead came up.
"I'll go with you." Bumblebee beeped and they knew that he wanted to come along as well to help as Smokescreen nodded and joined in.
"Me too. You might need some help." Smokescreen said as Bulkhead patted his back.
"Sure thing, kid. Ratchet, can you open the bridge?" They turn to Ratchet expectantly but he just waves his servo at them without turning away from what he was doing.
"Can't you see I'm busy?" Ratchet told them as Bulkhead rubbed the back of his helm sheepishly.
"Oh right." Bulkhead laughed sheepishly as the others gave him a look while smirking as Raf put the coordinates to the mine.
"I'll do it. Opening the ground bridge now." Raf said as he pressed the final key and the ground bridge went online.
Wheeljack walked up to Emily who looked up to him curiously.
"Well, it was nice meeting you, girl. If you ever need some shooting tips, I might take some time off to show you some tricks." He gave her a grin as she grinned back. Maybe someone with expertise in handling the plasma cannons might help her get a good aim.
"I'll think about it. Be careful out there, guys." She nodded before turning serious since she sensed that the cons didn't leave the place yet.
"We'll be alright. See you later, kids." Wheeljack turned to the others who waved to them as the foursome all ran to the portal and disappeared through it before Miko replayed what Wheeljack said. What did he mean by Emily needing shooting tips? She didn't have a gun, right?
"Uh... what did Wheeljack mean with shooting tips?" Miko turns to Emily in confusion and she almost facepalms for forgetting to tell them.
"Oh right. I totally forgot." She said sheepishly as she outstretched her left arm and it transformed into her plasma cannon much to their shock.
"Whoa! You have guns?" Jack asked in amazement as he saw that it looks powerful and will pack quite a punch.
"Amazing." Raf said as he pushed back his glasses.
"Sweet." Miko fished out her phone from her pocket and took a picture as Ratchet turned to them and had to warn Emily to be careful with her new weapons. Seeing Emily using a sword is one thing but her having plasma cannons was another.
"Be careful with those things. They're dangerous." Ratchet warned them as Emily looked at him in confusion.
"Come on, Ratchet, there's no need to worry. I've got it all under control." Emily said but it seemed that she proved herself wrong as Emily accidentally shot out a plasma shot straight at Ratchet's toolbox and it scattered the tools on the ground.
"I needed that!" Ratchet gave Emily a stern and scolding look as she laughed sheepishly and nervously as Ratchet picked up his scattered tools back.
"Oops sorry." She apologized as she turned her cannon back into her hand.
"I'll just put them down." She rubs the back of her head as the others snickered while Cliffjumper approaches them. After seeing what happened, he knew that Emily was a powerful one.
"Haha. Same old Ratchet. Glad to see that some things haven't since I was..." He trailed off as Emily knew exactly what he was gonna say.
"Must have been hard to be back huh?" She asked solemnly as he nodded as he looked around the base and noted small changes but that's all.
"Yeah... I don't remember much except that Starscream made a hole in my chest. And then it all went black... I also remember joining the Allspark but then nothing." Cliffjumper explained as Ratchet approached. He couldn't stay mad at Emily since it was an accident but she would definitely need a lesson for handling those plasma cannons of hers.
"Yes, well... It's best for you not to know. The best thing for you now is to rest. There'll be plenty of time for catching up." Cliffjumper knew he was right but before they could move, Arcee was starting to stir, signifying that she was waking up from her slight stasis.
"Hey look. Arcee is starting to wake up." Emily noted with relief as they went to see Arcee is indeed waking up as Ratchet went to check on her before he uses his light to see if she's alright.
"Are you feeling okay, Arcee?" Ratchet asked her as she opened her optics slowly.
"It still hurts. But I'll live." Arcee said but winced slightly at her wound. Before she could even utter another word, a familiar voice made her freeze knowing who the voice belonged to.
"Good to hear." Cliffjumper said in relief as Arcee turned to him slowly with wide optics. Was this for real? Is Cliffjumper alive and standing before her?
"It's been a while." Cliffjumper laugh softly as Arcee was still in shock.
"Cliffjumper? I must be dreaming or under a Cortical Psychic Patch." Arcee sat up while shaking her head as she didn't believe it.
"I can assure you, Arcee. This is very real. Cliffjumper is back." Ratchet told her as she looked shocked by what he meant and she looked at the mech before her and was still shocked to see that her old partner before Jack is alive and back.
"Is it really you?" Arcee whispered softly as she tried to keep her composure in check but she was failing.
"Of course it's me. I know it comes as a shock but-" he was cut off by Arcee giving him an upset glare as the others didn't expect that kind of reaction from her but they understand why.
"What were you thinking, Cliffjumper?! Facing the enemy on your own like that?! Do you have any idea of what we've been through?! Of what I've been through...?" Arcee whispered the last parts as Cliffjumper felt his spark break by hearing how broken and sad she was. She already lost Tailgate and just seeing him alive and back just throws her off.
Everyone remained quiet as they watched what was going on as they knew that Arcee was upset with Cliffjumper for not having back up and leaving Arcee all alone.
"Arcee, I-" Cliffjumper started but was cut off again as Arcee rushed toward him and gave him a hug as lubricant started to fall down her optics as he was taken aback but let her.
"I'm glad to have you back." Arcee whispered as her voice shook as they could clearly tell that she was trying to hold back tears. She can't stay mad forever as she was just happy and glad to have the mech she grew close to was back. That's all that matters for now.
Cliffjumper sighed softly before hugging Arcee back as he felt bad for leaving her just like that. The others watch on as the two hug happily as Miko wipes a small tear from her eyes while Jack smiled as he was happy for his partner as Raf and Ratchet smiled at the sight while Emily kept her emotions in check but had a soft smile at the sight of Arcee being happy again.
"I'm sorry for what happened. It's good to be back." He whispered softly as Arcee started to calm down but she was still confused about one thing as she pulled away from the hug.
"But I don't get it. How were you able to come back?" Arcee asked in confusion as Cliffjumper shrugged since he didn't know.
"To be honest. I don't know." Cliffjumper turned to Ratchet who shook his head since he didn't know either.
"Don't ask me because I don't know either." Emily cleared her throat as they looked at her as she looked up to them.
"It's thanks to me. It would seem that my sword had the power to bring Cliffjumper back. I just need to put it in his spark chamber and... there he is." Emily finished her explanation as she gestured to the now alive Cliffjumper as he smiled thankfully at her.
Arcee then approaches Emily before getting down on one knee and let's her climb on her servo to give her a hug as Emily smiles up at Arcee who smiles back.
"I can never thank you enough for this." Arcee brought Emily to where her Spark is as Emily patted her chest plate as she smiled up to her as Cliffjumper looked at them with curiosity.
"I'm glad I was able to help a friend. Speaking of friends." The two pulled away as Arcee lowered her servo to the floor as Jack approach the femme when Emily got off.
"Hey, Arcee. Good to see you're okay." Jack smiled up to her as she smiled back.
"You should know better not to worry about me." Arcee told him as Jack just chuckled. Same old Arcee.
"Is that guy your new partner?" Cliffjumper asked as he saw how the two interacted.
"Yeah. He's also my friend." Arcee nodded as Cliffjumper kneeled down to look at Jack closely.
"So... you've been having Arcee's back while I was gone?" He asked him curiously as Jack nodded as he turned to him.
"You might say that." Jack said before Emily remembered something.
"Oh now that I think about it. I've got something for you, CliffJumper." Cliffjumper turns to her as she walks toward him.
Emily reached inside for her pocket before grabbing something from it inside it and opened her hands to show what it was. It was Cliffjumper's broken horn. After getting it from her pocket, she showed it to him as he looked surprised before he patted the side of his helm and took notice of the missing horn.
"Consider it a welcome back gift." She smiled up at him and he couldn't help but smile back.
"Thanks, kid." He smiled at her as she smiled up more.
"Call me, Emily." She introduced herself as Cliffjumper nodded before he kneeled down and accepted his missing horn back as he stood up.
"Thanks, Emily. I would love to have my two horns." He turned to Ratchet as the medic nodded as he turned his servo into a welder.
"Hold still then." Cliffjumper sat down as Ratchet aligned it before making sure that it was okay before reattaching the broken horn back on Cliffjumper's helm. After a few minutes, he was done as he stood back and nodded to Cliffjumper.
"There. It is good as new." Ratchet put the welding back where it belongs before going back to the computer to resume his work before the whole mine incident.
"Thanks, Ratchet. If anyone wants to go for a ride." Cliffjumper said before turning to the kids with a grin as they got curious.
Cliffjumper then transformed into his vehicle form and ignited his engine before opening the doors and they smiled excitedly at the prospect of riding Cliffjumper in his vehicle form.
"Come on in." Cliffjumper told them as the trio ran up to get in to start the fun.
"Whoa... nice." Raf said as he got in the back seat.
"So awesome." Miko grinned excitedly as Arcee just smiled at them.
"You'll have to go without me, guys." She said as Cliffjumper was disappointed by this but understood.
"Too bad. It's been a while since we went out together." That came out wrong as Jack, Miko, Raf and Emily looked surprised and confused by this and Ratchet had to hold back a laugh by their reaction.
"Together? Were you two dating or something?" If Cliffjumper was still in his robot form, he would have the same blue hue on his faceplates like Arcee as she averted her gaze with her faceplate a soft pink color.
"No. Just go." Arcee went to her berth room to recharge and to avoid further embarrassment by the idea of her and Cliffjumper being mates but it sounds like a nice idea to think.
"Come on, guys. You coming, Emily?" Jack laughed at Arcee's reaction before turning to Emily expectantly for her to join but she shook her head with a smile.
"You guys go ahead. I need to check my motorcycle." She pointed to her motorcycle by the sidelines as Jack nodded in understanding.
"Okay." He nodded as she nodded back before he got inside CliffJumper on the front seat so that way it would look like he's driving and they took off with the kids whooping in joy and delight.
After watching them go, Emily started checking her motorcycle for any damage as she started thinking back at what happened at the mines. She took out some small rocks that got in slightly in the engine of her motorcycle and she guessed that it would need to be cleaned later on.
"What a load of rocks." She muttered to herself as she wiped her cheek but got slight grime on it. She heard footsteps and glanced up to see that Optimus came in as he walked up towards her and stopped while looking at her curiously.
"Do you need help?" He asked her curiously and it caused her to blush when she caught herself staring for a bit since she got lost in his optics.
"Optimus,... oh, uh,... well..." She stuttered slightly as he raised an optic ridge at her curiously as she shook her head to clear her mind while making the blush go away slightly.
"Yeah, I could use some help." She admitted as she saw that a rock got lodged in the front wheel of her motorcycle.
She started to tug on it but it wouldn't budge a bit but it was stuck good.
"Come on." She gritted her teeth as she kept tugging it but it didn't help.
She laughs sheepishly as she looks up to Optimus who chuckled warmly before Optimus grabs the rock to help Emily. They both removed some rocks that got in the base and they were done after a few minutes.
"Oh thanks. That should be enough for now. Cliffjumper surely loves to have his horn back." She smiled up to him as she dusted the seat of her motorcycle as he smiled back.
"A very generous thought coming from you." He told her as she tucked a piece of her hair behind her ear.
"Thanks, Optimus. Are you okay?" She thanked him before looking him over to be sure that he wasn't hurt badly by their battle.
"Yes it's just that I was asking myself how were you doing?" He asked her as he looked at her optic-eye which was an interesting color.
"I'm doing okay. I gotta admit today was kind of... hectic. You know, with the Dark Energon and everything." She sighed softly since she remembered how she felt after grabbing the shard.
"I saw how the shard was trying to control you." He told her as he was worried and concerned moments ago as he couldn't get the way she looked at them when she was fighting the influence of the Dark Energon shard that was trying to put her thought out of his processor. She looked so scared back then and he got scared that he might lose her to something.
"Yeah... it was... scary. I started hearing a voice telling me to take the shard and use it. I believe that this voice called himself Unicron or something. Whatever it was, I'm glad I got rid of the shard." She shuddered slightly at the memory of it. It just made her feel sick and uneasy like she almost lost a part of herself to the darkness.
"Today you have shown great courage and great strength. And you were able to perform that not even a Prime could do. There is more to you than meets the eye." He told her before he patted her head with his digit before he got up for a drive to clear his processor of what happened as she smiled as she watched him go before checking her bike again.
While Emily was checking her bike, She wondered what Optimus meant with what he said as she looked confused and wondered what he meant by them. She accomplished something that not even a Prime can do? That was something.
"What did Optimus mean with that? Mm... ah well. Guess I won't figure out the answer today. Time to go catch the others." She said in confusion but she shook her thoughts away before grabbing her helmet.
She got on her motorcycle while putting on her helmet before turning on her engine as she revved up the ignition before turning to Ratchet who was watching her as she smiled at him.
"See you later, Ratchet." She waved to him as he nodded back before going back to his work.
"Yes, yes." Ratchet waved back before she made her engine roar with life and left the base and quickly caught up with the others.
Meanwhile Bulkhead, Smokescreen, Wheeljack and Bumblebee were inspecting the crash site of the Jackhammer as they found it and saw that it had a lot of damage and will be a few days before it's fixed.
"The Jackhammer took quite a hit. Let's try to fix this thing." Wheeljack said as he started to fix his ship as Bulkhead knew what he was going to do.
"Planning to leave soon, Jackie?" Bulkhead looked at him curiously as Wheeljack looked at him and nodded.
"You know me, Bulk. I like flying around." Wheeljack said as he continued fixing the Jackhammer.
"Can I go with you?" Smokescreen asked since he wanted to experience and learn more of his more experienced team mates.
"Sorry, rookie, I like working alone." Smokescreen sighed but understood.
"Ah man." Smokescreen pouted as Bumblebee beeped and comforted him before they all froze when they heard some weird noise. It sounded like drilling.
"You guys hear that?" Bulkhead asked as Wheeljack nodded as he recognized the sound anywhere.
"Sounds like a... Decepticon drill?" Wheeljack said in confusion. What are Decepticons doing back there? The place is not worth going back to... Right?
Bumblebee beeped as if telling them that they should check it out to make sure.
"Let's go check it out." Smokescreen said as they walked to the ledge and crouched down to check it and to their biggest surprise and shock they saw that Decepticons were still there and mining the whole place as gears like drills and crates were being played out.
"Are you guys seeing this?" Bulkhead whispered in shock as they stayed hidden and quiet to avoid getting caught.
"Yeah. It's weird." Wheeljack had to agree with Bulkhead. It's strange to see their enemies back at the same place where they battled.
Wheeljack watched each cons before noticing a certain seeker and wrecker as he motioned for the others to see.
"There's Starscream." Wheeljack said as they saw the cons as they were giving the workers orders to mine some kind of crystals.
"And Breakdown. Hmm... Something big is going on here." Bulkhead glanced at Bumblebee as he beeped quietly while shaking his head.
"Yeah, well, whatever it is, it's going down." Wheeljack was about to go for round 2 but Bulkhead stopped him before he could even jump down.
"Hold up, Jackie. We should call, Ratchet." Bulkhead said since this was a big thing and they need someone with enough knowledge to know what's going on.
"On it." Smokescreen said before he turned on his comm-link.
"Ratchet, come in."
Back at the base, Ratchet was just putting his tools away before he looked up and saw that Smokescreen was on and using his comm-link.
"Ratchet, come in. Do you hear me?" Ratchet approached the computer to answer.
"I hear you, Smokescreen. What is it?" Ratchet replied but he could hear faint sounds in the background.
"You might think it's crazy. But right now the cons are mining." Ratchet had to blink at this. Did Smokescreen say that the Decepticons were back at the mine they have been to and we're mining? But the whole place doesn't have anything worth mining unless some Dark Energon survived the explosion.
"In the mine we've been in? That's impossible. The explosion should've destroyed all the Energon in it. But since it's Dark Energon there is a possibility that it might've survived." Ratchet tried to think of why the cons would start mining again if the Dark Energon survived somehow.
Back at the mines, they kept watching the cons put faded and dimmed colored energon on the crates which gave them more confusion but were getting a bad feeling about why they needed it.
"Looks like it. Although it's weird. All the Dark Energon looks drained." Smokescreen said as he saw the crystal shards that were being loaded in the crates.
Back at the base, Ratchet was typing away at his computer as Smokescreen was keeping him updated on what's going on.
"What good would that be to the Decepticons?" Smokescreen asked curiously as Ratchet went into thoughts before telling them what he came up with.
"Hmm. The Dark Energon shard that was destroyed earlier acted like some sort of energy. Like a battery. Without another shard, this Dark Energon would be useless... Oh no... This is worse than I thought." Ratchet started to feel his Energon run cold as he started to realize why they were mining the dimmed Dark Energon but it can't be true. It just can't.
"What is it?" Smokescreen asked in concern through the comm-link since he heard what Ratchet said.
"I can't be sure yet. Be careful and make sure they don't see you." Ratchet told them as the four needed to get back before they were caught.
"Roger that. Smokescreen out." Smokescreen then hangs up and leaves Ratchet alone with his thoughts.
Back at the mines, the others look at Smokescreen since they heard the conversation.
"What did Ratchet say?" Bullhead asked as Smokescreen glanced at him.
"He's not sure. We should try to move the Jackhammer far from here." Smokescreen told them before gesturing to the Jackhammer and to move it someplace else so they won't get caught.
"I hate to run out from a fight." Wheeljack huffed in annoyance but Bulkhead gave him a look.
"But we have to." Bullhead told him sternly as Bumblebee beeped and whirred in agreement with Bulkhead
"Let's go." They all nodded before going towards the Jackhammer to try and move it someplace secluded so they won't be caught.
Meanwhile back at the base, Ratchet was asking himself what Megatron was planning with the Dark Energon.
"What could Megatron possibly be planning with that Dark Energon? Whatever it is, it can't be good." Ratchet said as he grew worried since he still couldn't get the way Emily was looking at them when she was trying to fight for control against someone out of his processor.
He just hopes that they can protect Emily before something bad or worse happens to her and he would blame himself for failing something that he vowed to do.
