hello! gladly, thank you!! (also i made 2 more so i’m gonna add them at the end! i hope that’s okay!)

so jade, she’s kinda our protag, i love her. she’s the granddaughter (sometimes daughter) of j. jonah jameson, and she’s a reporter like him! she’s a crusader, and she thinks everyone should the same level of information. she’s also peter parker’s bestie and always figures out he’s spider-man, and waits for him to tell her! Jade's not too close with her family outside of J Jonah, so she spends a lot of time with the parkers, and also sees aunt may as an aunt. she and harry Osborn always fight over who is Peters best friend (he has 2 hands). uhh, I think thats it, jade my beloved. Peter takes the photos and jade provides the words! oh, and jade is often the only person who can get a quote from Spidey!

John Jameson iiii, he goes by four! hes jades twin, and has zero interest in the family business. hes very undecided in life. he gets along with jade, and is pretty close to his mom! his relationship with j Jonah is a little strained, but they love each other. he has a big crush on mr. Peter Parker. science is his worst subject (its also jades. this fam can't do science). he and mj are very close! much like every spider-man character, he has a villain arc, as werewolf!

karis stark. ill be honest, she's kinda screwed up a bit by her parents. her mom kinda just dumped her with her dad, who doesn't have time for her. he changes a bit once she older, but its a little too late at that point. she's super smart and makes her own iron man-type suit, calling herself charis, trying to get the attention she never really got as a kid. this obviously isn't the right motivation for a hero, and it causes her to mess up and loose sight .. a lot. Spidey often has to clean up after. Jade is kinda mean tbh, but she almost let her die once, so.

riven thevar. I love she! okay so, she gets taken over by an alien (a symbioe maybe?) previous, she's a nice girl, kinda shy, and casually friends with the Spidey squad. she gets left out a bit sometimes, but their busy. till she gets taken over and wreaks absolute havoc for months as her new alter ego. we pick up with riven after, and we get to explore her in the wake of how she is/isnt responsible as she re-builds her life! (she isn responsible, but she feels like she is)

opal refre - okay! she's like, the evil jade. in the raimi trilogy, she has a talkshow, in TASM she has a radio show, in the mcu (my MCU) she's a tik Tok star with a podcast (this is hilarious to me!). she is determined to find out who Spidey is at any cost, and often helps ruin lives in the process (has gotten smaller criminals caught and accidentally doxxes ppl type stuff). all in the name of "journalistic integrity". jade absolutely hates her and its mutual.

Daisy (?) Von Doom Harkness

she's the kid of Victor Von doom, doesn't know, and the adoptive daughter of Agatha harkness. she is very smart, and excels at every subject, her fave being science. getting her powers is weird but she feels compelled to help ppl, so she makes a costume and immediately starts bothering spider-man. i also think she has a storyline abt trying to take the throne of latveria from her dad.

henry harkness

her adopted older brother! he doesn’t have powers, bur he is the son of amora the enchantress, so that puts a target on his back. he’s also really into science. he’s in college when they start in the mcu, and he often helps out! and keeps its a secret from daisy originally.

since we’re all talking abt how we feel abt the mcu rn, i just wanna say that infinity war was beyond good but somehow the russo’s just had to ruin it all in endgame. w/ nat dying to how everyone dealt w/ thor’s trauma (by making it into a joke) to steve’s character development (& peggy’s) being completely ruined, it just feels so weird when i rewatch it.... people on this app have done a better job rewriting endgame than the russo’s honestly. plus they should’ve totally let sharon & steve live together in infinity war bc that way it would make 10x more sense as to why she’s gonna be in tfatws w/ sam & bucky. if they established steve & sharon’s relationship (whether that be romantic or platonic) it would’ve made more sense why she’s gonna be teaming up w/ his friends he left behind.... ofc we’ll probably hear abt it in the show or something but i think it would’ve been a lot better to see her more in the movies beforehand:/

I agree I really liked infinity war! (although tbh I didn’t like thanos as a villain that much, his strength seemed to be very inconsistent)

the weirdest thing to me is how the russos and the other writers ruined their own movies??? like, as a star wars fan, I get how j.j. abrams ruined rian johnson’s movie by retconning the fuck out of it. but the people who ruined cap’s arc are the same people that wrote it in the first place!!! the people who wrote the line “the guy who wanted a family and kids never came out of the ice” and said in an interview “[in terms of steve’s arc] peggy carter is simply a woman that steve once kissed” are the same ones that wrote endgame!!!! like, what???

I was tagged in this meme by the awesomely rad @francisthegreat whom I’m lucky to have as my friend :) Also I’m sorry this is so late! I didn’t see you tag me until like yesterday, I had exams this week haha. This was very hard to make because I have a LOT of feelings.

Ten characters from ten fandoms:

This list is going in ascending order, meaning my very favorite faves will be last on the list.

10. Bill Cipher (Gravity Falls) First of all on this list is this asshole, gosh I have no idea why but there was a period of time where I absolutely loved Gravity Falls and I shipped with a human form with Dipper mostly because of the amazing art and some pretty complex fics written for the ship. It was a wild ride and honestly thinking about this phase of my life always makes me feel weird, like I liked him purely because I liked reading shippy fics starring him.

9. Pearl (Steven Universe) This one is kinda weird too? Idk man I absolutely love Pearl’s design and the way her character is written. I’m not in loop with the SU fandom because ugh it’s not a happy place to be but I absolutely love browsing art of her. I love how she’s such a broken character for a kids show! I used to read SU meta and they’d go on and on about how she’s a shit character, an asshole towards Amethyst and toxic. But tbh, I feel like she’s just a complex character that made bad choices at times, she’s trying to get better, she’s trying to cope with the loss of Rose someone she probably loved in more ways than one and how she felt Rose chose Greg over her, and now she’s gone. I mean, she just can’t let go and I think that’s very human.

8. Pitch Black (Rise of the Guardians) Alright but this fandom was the first one I’d ever been in once I started out in tumblr. It was very cool and leaves bittersweet memories tbh, I absolutely adored the art and fics this fandom churned out, I used to ship Pitch and Jack Frost. The thing about Pitch is the fact that the fandom practically merged the movie with the lore from the original Guardians of Childhood the movie is based on. In the book, Pitch has such a tragic backstory, his name was Kozmotis Pitchinier and he was the best general of the Golden Army. After capturing all fearlings, he was designated to guard the prison of their imprisonment , he was haunted by their whispers and pleading and his only solace was his daughter, of whom he kept a photograph of in a locket. But one day, sensing his weakness, the prisoners imitated her voice and hypnotized Kozmotis to believe she was being held inside with them. Frantic, he opened the doors to release her, but was instead possessed by ten thousand Fearlings.

Sorry for the long summary but I just want people to know more abt his backstory haha.

7. Loki (MCU) I didn’t really know about Loki until I watched Thor: The Dark World in the cinema and I was instantly in love despite this movie being the absolutely worst of all the MCU movies, which looking back I’d have to agree. Loki is yet another tragic character whom I’m sure everyone already knows about. I think Loki is a vulnerable character who tries to be good, wants to be good but he just can’t, or he tries and other people just won’t accept him. He’s a frost giant and those people are considered monsters, how can he not be bitter that he’s the very thing ha’s been indoctrinated to hate and fear. He is a very complex character that the MCU practically does not do enough justice mostly because he’s portrayed as a villain in the movies. But I wouldn’t consider him a villain, more like an antihero, nobody trusts him and he doesn’t think anybody can love him either. I’ve only read a bit of his comics and I gotta say Loki deserves so much more than what he gets.

6. Dr Strange (MCU) (I’m breaking the one character per fandom rule idc) I know a shit ton of people absolutely HATE Dr Strange, and for a variety of reasons too. They hate him because Benedict Cumberbatch plays him and hating on BC is practically the new edgy on tumblr. People think Dr Strange should have been played by an american asian and all that yada plus the ancient one being whitewashed. While I agree some aspects of Dr Strange is problematic, I think people need to give it more credit, at least watch it for the cool effects that the stupidly huge amount of people worked on. Also as an asian, I can guarantee you most people outside of America doesn’t give two shits about these controversies and movies should be a source of pleasure instead of thinking about all the negative shit only. Dr Strange deserves so much more, he’s an interesting and while he does share some qualities with Tony Stark, he’s his own character with his own issues. Plus his comics are very fun to read, come on, magic in the Marvel is such an awesome concept. Fuck you haters, I just wanna have a good time with the magic man.

5. Sherlcok Holmes (BBC Sherlock) This is also one of my earliest fandoms on tumblr. Sherlock season 4 absolutely ruined it with all the queer baiting and the shitty plot. But Sherlock had always left bittersweet memories for me too. Mostly because of the absolutely amazing and complex fics written for it, I will never understand how fic authors do it but Sherlock fics were amazing and I would gladly choose these fics over canon any time.

4. Asuka Langley Soryuu (Neon Genesis Evangelion) I have so many feelings about this bitch right here, honestly one of the most relate-able characters for me. Asuka is a very human character, she’s very proud and has emotional issues. She was considered the best of the best and was trained to be an Eva pilot since she was four because she’s a child genius. However she has a tragic backstory, her mother underwent some tests and became insane, believing that Asuka's doll was her daughter and refusing to acknowledge the real Asuka, referring to her as "that girl over there." She eventually commits suicide by hanging herself; Asuka found her body when she went to tell her the good news that she had been chosen to become an Eva pilot. She couldn’t let go that Shinji the main character was starting to become a better pilot than her despite training for months only. She suppresses a lot of her emotions and had unhealthy ways of coping. I just want her to be happy.

3. Edward Elric (Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood) Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood is what I would consider the holy grail of anime tbh. Edward is just about the most selfless person out there in the fictional world of anime. I love the fact that Ed and Al started their journey off with mildly selfish reasons that is to return their body parts whom they lost to in a deal with Truth to bring back their mom which ultimately failed. In the end, Edward is willing to lose his alchemy, the very things that defines him, that started this whole mess, that is the source of his joy and misery for the sake of gaining his brother’s body back instead of selfishly using the Philosopher’s stone that’s made using human souls. I just want this shorty to be happy and I’m glad he is with that satisfying end.

2. Hitsugaya Toshiro (Bleach) The reason this guy is ranked so high in my list is mostly because, he’s been there for me since I was a smol kid, I’ve had a crush on him ever since I was 10 and I could never let go. He’s the one fictional character whom I still fallback to every time things stagnant, I love reading fics about him, he’s just so cool! He’s a child genius with a sword that can shoot ice dragons. Plus he’s always written in such a complex way in fics, Kubo missed his fucking chance by not expanding more about his character in the manga, but clearly Kubo is incompetent when it comes to plot so whatever I guess.

1. Kylo Ren (Star Wars) The Star Wars fandom or specifically the Kylux subfandom is probably the happiest plave I’ve ever been in since forever. It’s the first time I’ve ever talked to anyone at all online, I only lurked around in other fandoms but Star Wars made me able to brave the fandom and talk to people in it, I’ve met so many amazing people and read amazing fics in it, it’s mostly due to the KRB discord chat that I’m still going strong with this fandom. I absolutely love Kylo Ren and can he please crush me between his thighs. The thing that attracted me to him besides his unconventionally attractive appearance is his emotional vulnerability. Kylo has been neglected by Leia and Han as a kid and sent away to jedi school with Luke, he’s been manipulated by Snoke as a kid and Leia and Han just don’t think they can take care of him properly, they’re afraid of him and always too busy with their work, Kylo wasn’t planned, the way their relationship worked just wasn’t ideal for child rearing, Kylo was left alone with Luke, unable to understand why his parents don’t want him anymore, how he was too emotional for the jedi way. While what Kylo did was not justifiable with all that murdering, it’s not a stretch to say that he was very mush a victim of circumstances too. I related to Kylo a lot as I’d been sort of neglected as a child too, both my parents were always busy with work and I only saw them during mealtimes and before bed.

Sorry for the long post ya’ll! I have so many emotions about fictional characters haha.

talk 2 us abt matt and claire blease

i am one of the og c/lairedevil shippers. i had watched 20 minutes of episode 2 before i was accidentally calling her claire murdock. obviously you don’t need cred to ship an angel with a garbage man, but i just want everyone to know i’ve been signed on since day fucking one

matt and claire begin on such different footing with each other than anyone else. she knew his face and what he did from the start, things he would have lied to her about (not entirely without good reason, frankly). at first he didn’t have the option of hiding from her, but he did choose to tell her his real name. trust like that is new to matt and it was precious.

how do i describe claire t/emple? she gets his measure so quickly, partly because she is just as angry and afraid and sick of doing nothing as he is (the torture tips she gives him the first night they meet, holy shit). she’s saved as many lives as he has, or more. and she doesn’t wrestle over questions about what’s the right thing to do, she just does it.

claire is almost the only person in the mcu who knows how to talk to him — too many people want him to give up his mission altogether, and he’s never going to. but she makes it clear to matt — so precisely, so compassionately — that she actually understands the core of him. the good, the bad. and she can separate them. but she isn’t there to give and give of herself until she’s empty. after enough of claire reaching out, matt has to reach back.

and he doesn’t. or hasn’t, in a long time. which is in-character for matt. but it so easily could have been written the other way, too?? after s1, matt was positioned as having wrestled with a lot of claire’s objections already. he was no longer close to “becoming what he hates”; he’d had that crisis of faith and we didn’t need to see it again. (ideally, we could have seen a matt who knows how easy it is to fall from grace, and therefore approached others… say, elektra… with more compassion.) he was still isolated, as he might always feel to some degree, but he didn’t have to end up worse than before. the defenders has, i think, brought him to a similar place again. i’ve written about this before — moving forward, canonically, matt could still do the work of meeting people wherever they’re still willing to meet him. if i were writing the next seasons, whatever other drama went down, he’d struggle through the process of rebuilding his relationships anyway, and come out stronger.

he would be friends with claire again, before anything else.

claire was the first person in this universe to know about his double life or, really, to understand why he did what he did. matt was her introduction to people with powers, fighting the good fight, and she has become the one constant across all of their worlds. in that context they are arguably one another’s most formative relationship. it should have been protected. it should be explored.

other details:

claire’s chilling laugh when she says “you want to know his name? ask him yourself.”

AND THEN HE TELLS HER

his terrifying turnaround time from beating the shit out of her kidnappers to tucking her under his chin and murmuring “i’m here. i have you.”

“feel my heart. what is it telling you?”

their goofy dumb smiles around each other (“you worried about me?” or “i’d probably want to punch people, too” you stUPID FLIRTERERS)

the painfully gentle kiss scene

their breakup scene before they really even stood a chance together, which always makes me think of siken — “sorry about the scene at the bottom of the stair well / and how i ruined everything by saying it out loud”

every single time matt has said “thank you, claire”

“thank you, claire… i know i keep saying it, and it probably doesn’t mean anything at this point, but… thank you”

“you know what it was. what it could have been.”

she kissed his forehead. she kissed his — goddamn forehead. how am i supposed to recover from that.

how even when she’s like “and here i was hoping my day would get worse,” she’s smiling at him

look, i think it's p obvious at this point if you've been following me for any amount of time that i don't ship st*cky. the fandom has completely ruined any possible interest i might've had for the pairing and there's rly no going back for me at this point. but i follow/am mutuals with quite a few st*cky shippers bc they're reasonable and i have no problems with seeing the eventual fanart or shippy gifset on my dash—i do follow those ppl after all so i know it's coming, and a lot of the content is rly beautiful from an artistic standpoint. but i still don't ship it. but here's what i don't do: i don't post every day abt how much i hate it, how i find mcu!steve an underdeveloped mess, how mcu!bucky is a helpless damsel etc. i may make the occasional post abt it but it's always in relation to smth the fandom has done e.g. claiming mcu!bucky is canonically flirting with steve with every interaction,'or that mcu!steve gagged when he kissed sharon, or that steve and sam don't have chemistry and should never be a couple and that sam should make way for bucky. it's never out of the blue, it's a response to either hate or any other ~problematic~ aspect of the rhetoric. but even when i do that, i don't tag the characters. i use asterisks, or the anti tags, bc i don't want fans/my followers to see the negativity. i don't spend my days sitting here writing essays abt how much i hate this or that character and how stupid the shippers are, even if i think it. it's just common courtesy. so what's the deal with anti sharon/staron ppl? i have never, in all of my years on tumblr, seen a character/ship get so much vitriol. it's actually insane. anti sharon/staron ppl have consistently, since civil war came out, flat out HARASSING the fans, hijacking content made by fans to criticize it, and creating anti-blogs with confessions that range from "i hate sharon bc steve belongs with bucky" to "sharon and her stans are literal nazis." and, no, that's not even an exaggeration. if anything, i'm being generous with my description. and then when i make my pro sharon/staron posts, *i'm* the one that has no chill, *i'm* the one that's too sensitive and should just lighten up, *i'm* the negative one. like, what's wrong with you people? i didn't even give a shit abt staron until i saw how unnecessarily hated it/sharon/emily was after the movie came out. so, really, you have yourselves to blame for me being so extra about it. the sharon/staron fandom is literally 1% of the mcu fandom on tumblr, and yet we're supposed to be quiet when the 99% have been badmouthing us for MONTHS? i'll never shut up. you brought this on yourselves.
