been cooking up a surge and amy (and, by extension, kit and cream) roleswap in ye olde noggin — transcription of the text and additional notes under the cut!
ROSE & RASCAL ( dangerous newcomers) —
These new enemies appeared on the scene without warning, and, for reasons yet unknown, are focused single-mindedly on killing Sonic and Tails! Could the mad Doctor Starline have anything to do with it? As if the murder attempts weren’t enough, Sonic can’t quite shake the feeling that Rose is vaguely familiar…
Amy (renamed Rose by Starline after rebuilding her) and Cream (renamed Rascal by Starline after rebuilding her) were relatively normal people before they were kidnapped and memory - wiped by Dr. Starline — and all for the purpose of replacing Sonic as the world's hero. Rose's existing strength was heavily augmented, making her outright superhuman; additionally, she can match Sonic's speed, making her a dangerous enemy indeed! Starline gave her the hammer as a "gift," and it weighs roughly three tons. Rascal was designed to be the agile to Rose's strong and, additionally, has a mental link with a chao - shaped drone that can assist her in attacks. Unknown to Starline, Amy and Sonic exchanged letters as children, though they never actually met.
SURGE & KIT ( old friends ) —
Heroes and longtime friends of Sonic; Surge met Sonic when both challenged Metal at Little Planet and they've been rivals and best friends since! Kit met Surge later and joined the group. Both want to help Sonic deal with Rose and Rascal, but they have different ideas of how to do it…
Surge and Kit are longtime friends of Sonic et al; Surge and Sonic may bicker like they hate each other, but underneath their playful rivalry is sincere affection for one another — they're besties! Kit's been one of the gang nearly as long. Surge has impressive speed at her disposal, but not to Sonic's extent; her primary strength is her innate manipulation of lightning! While Kit may not consider himself a companion, he can control water, and he and Tails worked together to build a technologically advanced backpack that that would ensure Kit always has water to work with. They don't know all the details about their friends' would-be copies, but they've made sure Sonic and Tails know they're there if either needs a hand. That being said, Kit really wants to see the newcomers saved, while Surge just wants them beaten by any means necessary.
Today has kind of sucked, so here is a snippet from Mezzo as proof it exists and one day other people will see it.

The injured merc shifts his leg and groans. “The warlord’s krogan are fucking insane. Jedore wanted an army. Instead she got these animals.”
Shepard is still as a stone and just as silent. In the old days, Garrus always relied on Alenko to predict what Shepard’s next move would be. If Alenko relaxed, Shiala was about to be upgraded from enemy to ally. If his hand went for his sidearm, Shepard was about to tell Helena Blake to get fucked.
But Alenko isn’t here.
“I’m here for Okeer. Where is he?”
“The warlord?” The merc laughs. It starts braver than it finishes. “You’re in Jedore’s house. She’s not letting you waltz in and take her krogan until she gets what she paid for.”
Shepard pulls his pistol so fast Garrus almost doesn’t register it, aims at the forehead of the second merc and pulls the trigger without breaking eye contact with his wounded partner. Lawson gasps. Even Jack jumps in surprise. The surviving companion recoils from the sight of shattered bone and greymatter as the body hits the ground.
“What the…what the fuck? What the fuck?”
“Do not make me ask you again.”
“Up,” the terrified merc says, pointing up the looming hulk of the stripped cruiser behind them. “He’s up there.”
Shepard holsters his pistol and glances at Garrus, ignoring both the merc and the corpse. “Come on. Let’s go.”
But the injured merc isn’t done making questionable decisions. He calls into his comm. “Jedore, we have intruders in quadrant six, intruders in quadrant—”
This time it’s Jack who does the honors. The second body thuds next to the first.
Garrus stares at the carnage, then at Shepard, who doesn’t even glance back. Shepard never looks back. Not after killing the thorian or freeing the rachni. Not after Virmire. It’s something Shepard has always been good at, but Garrus never learned.
do you think Kaneki might ever pray with Amon despite not being catholic himself? just sitting next to him mumbling the words as Amon says it because he likes to be with him
speaking of religion, what kind of faith do you think Kaneki would follow? I hc him as an atheist :) but I think you know more about religions than me lol
Ooooh I like that idea a lot actually I have So Many Thoughts (rubs my hands together evilly)
also this is just a sidenote but i know some people may be uncomfortable with religious discussion, so if you are lmk and i'll start tagging it
I feel like Amon hasn't prayed often in a while because of his past, but he may still on occasion (habit), and may get back into it properly after actually resolving his feelings with the past. At some point Kaneki starts to join him. He doesn't really know How to pray, especially since a lot of it is in silence, he probably just kneels there and silently wishes for safety for his friends, for strength and resolve, etc. etc. But when Amon starts saying the actual prayers out loud he just sits there and listens to him quietly saying them.
At some point Kaneki might start mumbling along with them, he vaguely knows some of the prayers and has heard Amon say them enough times to kind of know them. Amon is surprised when Kaneki starts doing that and it just kind of becomes a Thing; maybe Kaneki even asks Amon to tell him how to pray the rosary since he sees him doing that often as well (when the rosary is prayed in a group there's one person leading that says the first half of most of the prayers and the rest say the other half, and I think it would be interesting with them alternating like that)
While Kaneki isn't catholic himself he finds it reassuring, while it's unlikely to him that there's someone out there that'll actually grant his prayers it's a nice thought, y'know? It's also just very relaxing there, even if it was kind of awkward at first
I think he also finds the sound of Amon praying very relaxing *cough*
I also think Kaneki would be atheist, while he wouldn't completely deny the possibility of there being a god of some sort he also isn't really a follower of any particular belief system (note: ive actually been informed that there is a better term for this, agnostic, which is essentially being neutral lol). I think Amon would know this, and therefore doesn't really know why Kaneki chooses to pray with him despite this, but he figures that Kaneki does have a lot of things he would want to pray for, things he would want to seek forgiveness for, too, and he appreciates that Kaneki is willing to spend time with him like this anyway.
Could we get a continuation of the time travel/back in time au? I love the maiko setup!! (Ik i just sent in a different 5hc ask as well, but I sent some very scary emails today, so I’m rewarding myself :D)
Universe tag: #The whole Gaang wakes up a hundred years in the past verse
1. Mai's "siblings" don't tell her they even sent an offer of her hand off until the prospective groom has asked to meet her. So when her supposed sister bursts into her room one morning and tells her to start packing her meager possessions, because they found her a husband, Mai is horrified, she has no idea who they might have sold her to, and she is doing everything she can to come up with contingency plans to get out of this. Until of course her "sister" tells her that she's going to court. Mai can work with that.
2. Of course her plan is to go to court, and use the opportunity to assassinate Ozia, in a suicidal blaze of glory, which is both suitably dramatic, and would solve the problem of her having to actually deal with her intended husband. She wouldn't be around to have to worry about such things. So she and Ty Lee pack up and head to the capital, sharing a cramped one room cabin on a merchant ship, and Mai grits her teeth and doesn't scream as Ty Lee speculates about this new, and newly enobled, court soothsayer Mai is meeting to see if he will marry her. Ty Lee doesn't remember him from the history books. Mai doesn't care, okay? He is irrelevant to her plans.
3. And then they reach the capitol, and who is there at the dock, and trying not to look like an anxious little monkey-poodle puppy hoping his person is coming home soon? It's Zuko. Of course it's Zuko. He looks ridiculous, in court fashions that are a hundred years out of date, or in fact perfectly suited to the time period in which they find themselves, and when he sees Mai he lights up with relief and joy, and Mai feels a little bit like a character in a play as Ty Lee introduces her for appearences sake.
4. He escorts them to his new townhome, and breakfast is served, and then just like they always used to, Zuko contrives to send the servants away, and as soon as they're gone, with only Ty Lee around to witness, Mai sinks into Zuko's arms. It isn't about passion, or excitement, or even romance, but simply about exhaustion, and relief, and the complete trust that she can let down her guard, and rest here, with Zuko and Ty Lee. And Zuko just holds her for a few minutes, until she remembers that he would probably like to be held too, and she wraps her arms around him.
5. Before, Mai and Zuko were nowhere near talking about marriage. Sure, it was always somewhere in the background that Zuko was going to have to marry someone, because he was Firelord and he was going to have to make heirs, but they had only really just gotten back together. And now, they're stuck in this archaic dynastic betrothal, and sure, Zuko could refuse to marry her and send her home in disgrace, but really, they're going to get married to at least avoid having to get married to anybody else, and they both know it. They might as well get used to it.
6. Ty Lee would like out of the room so that she could stop being the third wheel. Anytime now.
Space-time shenanigans result in main canon He Xuan wandering into an AU where the fate swap didn’t happen.
He ascends as a civil god, and is doing quite well for himself, only his presence has unexpected ramifications for a few people
SWD can no longer save his brother via fate swap. He is not giving up obviously and will find another way no matter who he has to screw over (though HX would really really like it if he didn’t screw someone else over thank you very much), but in the meantime he is very much devoted to keeping his little brother safe and under control.
A necessity probably given that this little brother is an anxious mess afraid of his own shadow, with only shades of the bright determined Shi Qingxuan of the main timeline. He’s got all the comfort and wealth he could ever need and zero sense of confidence or independence.
Also different is the new civil god Ling Wen. She’s closed off and unpopular and may or may not be responsible for some sabotage He Xuan keeps encountering. Oh well it’s nothing to worry about. With dwindling followers she’s well on her way out anyway…
"Hey man, me and my friends were checking your vibe from across the room and they said your aura is rancid. Yeah sorry, we're going to have to kill you." - Barrett "Barry" Alabaster on a regular Tuesday
I am honestly still absolutely flabbergasted that those "Gorillaz without the rap" videos exist. Like bro I just don't think you like Gorillaz at that point.
Why's it when Miles accidentally pulls half of Gwen's hair out it's funny cuz he didn't do it on purpose which is the truth but when she opens the packaging of his toy she should burn in hell even though she didn't get the idea why he kept it in the box and wouldn't do it if she knew what was the reason????
I managed to fully finish storyboarding one of the bigger animatics (in terms of how much work will be going into the finished version) for the logan angst flashcard project and I actually feel a tiny bit accomplished for once 🥲
Uhh, to celebrate, have this blurry shot of one of the frames!
I usually don't like having a solid theory on a piece of media before it's finished because I don't want to get my hopes up too much, but at this point I can't ignore this.
More and more people are pointing out and realising that Miguel broke the dimension he was in because he purposely infiltrated a dimension he doesn't belong in and took the place of another version of him, thus fucking up the place and being the real anomaly. His presence there was what caused the dimension to implode.
The real lesson is: Don't fuck around in other people's dimension, NOT 'Don't mess up the 'canon' in your own dimension' but he doesn't realise this (whether purposely cus guilt or he truly doesn't realise it). You can't mess up your own dimension by going against canon. If that was the case, Miles' dimension would've imploded a long time ago if he 'wasn't supposed to be Spiderman' (and if he isn't supposed to be spiderman, then doesn't that mean he HAS no canon to even follow in the first place??). But it hasn't. Miles' dimension is perfectly fine before the Spot came in.
Obviously I have no idea how the next movie is gonna go, nor do they have to follow what a random person on the internet is saying, but this theory makes so much sense. I sincerely hope this will be revealed in Beyond The Spiderverse as the big plot realisation and I hope it will be mind blowing.
Idk if ur still doing the character asks but: thoughts on Negative 86?
I like some of what they did with her but I think she should’ve stayed evil. I’ve definitely said this before but they didn’t commit to the ‘evil opposites’ idea hard enough. I have a headcanon that she became the supreme leader of the DNK after Op Pool and they’re still evil. I would’ve liked for the dnk to come back in another episode cause I’d like to see all of the negatives interacting more
OH and I’d want to see a negative Mr Boss because I think his relationship with negative 86 would be interesting. Basing it off the positive counterpart’s the opposite would be negative Boss liking all kids except his own and I’m really intrigued by that idea
Me being me I have to mention that I’d like to see her and a negative 362. Mainly because the idea of negative 86 liking everyone else but hating negative 362 only is a bit funny to me
For people that enjoy my bookkeeping!verse series, I am planning on editing and revamping all of my previous chapters and posting it to Ao3. I understand that it's difficult following chaptered works on Tumblr, so hopefully that'll make updates easier to follow. I'll let you all know when it gets uploaded. ;v;b
