Anne with an E didn't invent feminism in the Anne of Green Gables series
I just saw a post on tumblr about how AWAE has feminism (as opposed to the original series, which apparently doesn't???) and my reply went past the word count, so here it is:
Firstly, I think that Anne is an incredibly well-done feminist character in her own right, and that's what offers her enduring popularity. She literally smacks a slate over the head of a boy who comments on her looks, publishes stories, is the first girl from Avonlea to go to Redmond, succeeds wildly at Queen's, is principal of a school, refuses to marry at all unless it's for love, etc. Moreover, she does all of this while being interested in fashion and typical 'girly' things, as well as remaining a flawed character who still feels completely real. She doesn't reject femininity, but she does as she pleases.
It's not like the books push sexism under the rug, either. The mathematics professor at Redmond "detested coeds, and had bitterly opposed their admission to Redmond". The older women of Avonlea don't particularly approve, either- Anne gets plenty of discouragement that Gilbert and Charlie Sloane never receive, and some even admit that they don't find it particularly proper for a girl to receive so much higher education. Specifically, she's told that she's only going to get married. Later in the books people inform her that she will never be married because she's "too particular" (Mrs. Harmon or Jane's mom), and that she should just settle as soon as she can. This is only in Anne of The Island alone, btw. In either the first or second book I think she even voices support for women being ministers, which isn't even a position to be taken for granted today.
There are loads of things I love about AWAE- Ka'kwet's storyline was amazing and added so smoothly, the casting is superb, etc. But they didn't introduce feminism to the series. In effect, I've also heard the argument that AWAE is less feminist. They take out so many of Anne's accomplishments at Redmond, as principal, actually getting published, etc. They remove her conviction on marrying for love. They end her story when she kisses Gilbert as if that's the end of all things lovable and Anne-related (although I know that's more the fault of Netflix than the directors). We never see the town's canonical reaction to going to Redmond, staying a single pringle for as long as she did, etc. In fact, quite the opposite, because the show kind of rushed Anne and Gilbert together, and as a result missed huge chunks of their friendship and romance. Again, not the fault of the directors, but I can only react to what we actually got... which is the removal of everything feminist about the original series. Yes, they added other points, but still...
Idk, I adore both but it still irks me when people say "if Anne was alive today/written more recently she'd be a huge feminist!!!". Yes, but she already was... in her own time. Anne-girl was a rebel from the start!
All hail Queen Anne 👑

Back on Bridgerton-based AUs with my OTPs from other fandoms; Seth and Kate!
It took me a minute to see it, but Simon and Daphane! I think what tripped me up is the Gecko's don't strike me as "of the ton" type but if I completely nix the whole wanted criminal aspect all together (except possibly now and again for the thrill?) then they fit.
Seth and Simon are surprisingly similar, in no small part because Daddy Issues.
Seth has decided he will never marry and pass on the family name to spite his old man. If the Gecko name is going to go on, than it'll be through Richie, whom dear old dad always claimed was a bastard anyways, so double whammy. It's probably not true, although Seth wouldn't blame his mom for sleeping around on her drunken, abusive, sad excuse of a husband, and Seth looks nothing like the former Lord Gecko himself (and quite a bit like one of the old stable masters,) but its the principal of the thing. Seth also had one disastrous marriage to a commoner, which was dissolved before the ink dried, because while they slept together plenty before and after getting married they didn't actually share a bed during the extremely short time they were legally bound. It was really more of an f-you to his father mixed with the thrill of the chase, but either way, Seth's sworn off the whole marriage and kids thing. But his reputation only does so much against a handsome pedigy and a promise of a wealthy life, and he's getting increasingly tired of the ton's mothers throwing their daughters at him. Or even the occasional daughter's dirty tricks to catch herself a husband.
Its Kate's debut season. (Side note: I don't know enough about titles and such outside of novels set in those times, but I see Jacob as a Vicar. I think that would make Kate eligible for the ton...at the very least she would be considered the daughter of a gentleman.) Kate is lovely and polite and well-bred, but her friendly nature and girl-next-door vibes have left her seen by most of the ton's eligible bachelors as just a friend. It's not that she doesn't have any suitors, but the ones who see her as more than just a friend or little sister type are rather... mature (Lord Oculto), inappropriate (Lord Madrigal's blatant offer to make her his mistress coupled with a scathing insult to her lower station and Lord Brasa's downright creepy comparisons of her to his dead wife Amaru), or the gentleman's reputation proceeds him (everyone knows Lord Malvado lusts after Lady Kisa and is prone violent tempers and ungentlemanly actions towards women, and Lord Tanner has made it clear he only likes the barely of age girls and sees no reason to honor his vows, plus he's a horrible gambler and there's a certain question to his remaining funds.) Her childhood friend Kyle has made his offer to her clear, and if the worst should happen she will consider him, but what she wants above all else is options.
It doesn't take long for her and Seth come to an agreement; he will be seen courting her, thus making her appear more eligible to the younger men of the ton, and he will get a reprieve from the meddling match-making mothers for one damn season! Possibly two if he can nurse the broken heart look the following year.
I'm 100% skipping the whole consent-issue, baby making bit and leaving all the drama in the "pretend courtship starts to seem all to real" mixed with her father not exactly approving of Seth due to his crass language that he didn't bother to hide when he fist called on her and his rather tarnished reputation. Things still grow complicated though, when Seth and Kate do finally confess to the other that there are real feelings behind their actions, stumbling through the "what to do now," Seth having a rather drunken conversation with Richie about the vow he made to their father followed by Richard's oh so helpful "if you don't marry her I will" with a pointed look. Richie is perfectly happy living in sin with his own lover, so he probably wouldn't go through with it.... then again, he can be an annoyingly stubborn little shit, and Seth decides he can't risk it. Now to win over her father.
Kate may threaten to be caught in a compromising position with Seth if Jacob doesn't budge.

There is no fear in love
(Mafiafell Sans x Reader)
Chapter Four: Habitual Introduction
[Index | Previous | Next]
An elderly nun – likely in her seventies – sets a cake decorated with white icing and colourful, round sprinkles on the coffee table. Her habit seems a size too big, and her hand shakes as she grabs a knife. A few silver hairs have escaped her veil, falling flat on her forehead, and her brown skin shows a couple of darker spots across her exposed arms, her sleeves rolled up to her elbows. She makes each cut slow and precise, and once she's done, she takes a seat. Brown eyes stare directly at him while another nun busies herself with serving the slices.
“Well, isn't this perfect timing?” Sister Theresa – the one responsible for baking and cutting the cake – says, wrinkles showing near her eyes and mouth as she smiles at Frisk's mother. “You introduce us to a new friend… Right on your thirty-secondth birthday!” She then looks back at him. “What is your name, young man?” she asks, keeping her smile.
The youngest of the two already seems to notice just how uncomfortable Sans currently feels, as she bites back a wobbly smile of her own, just as he rubs behind his neck and avoids the older woman's gaze.
“...sans,” he replies, attempting a polite nod. “pleasure to meet you.”
“Fourteen years,” Sister Gabriel – the one setting slices down for each person to take – says, joining in with just as much merriment. “Quite a feat, don't you think so? She has contributed plenty to our convent since her family left her in our care seventeen years ago!”
The woman appears at least a decade younger than Sister Theresa. Hints of colour in her hair are part of the evidence that suggests her age, adding to that the simple jewellery she wears on her wrists and neck, plus the subtle makeup on her face. Salt and pepper locks can be seen behind her ears, and the reddish tint to her pale skin reveals she has been outside without any sunblock. The colours of her habit are far more vibrant, and contrary to the other nun's clothing being a size too big, this one looks a size too small, as the length of the skirt displays part of her legs. Her smile shows she doesn't seem bothered by the concerning amount of information she's provided in one go, much to the great displeasure visible on the other two women's expressions.
“...Gabriel,” Sister Theresa says, frowning, while Frisk's mother sighs in approval. “Please, control yourself.”
“Oh,” the one in question replies, placing a hand on her cheek. “But… Does it not feel like he already cares deeply for this place? He called yesterday, asking if Sister Magdalene was doing alright!”
“i only wanna know ‘bout the people frisk sees every day,” Sans states, against letting this drag on or having assumptions made about what he wants. “that's what i'm here for, and nothin’ else.”
“But you asked about Frisk, and how their mother was doing,” Gabriel insists, smiling wider. “Perhaps, you refuse to admit it, but… You are being motivated to worry about Frisk and Sister Magdalene, even if you are trying not to let that happen.”
“Either way, sir…” Sister Theresa frowns. “You have made it here, and that is what matters most. Could I ask what prompted you to return… apart from learning about who Frisk associates with?”
“they've been sick, so i brought this.”
Sans slips out a paper bag from the inside of his jacket, and he tries not to chuckle when he notices Frisk's mother seems just a little too curious about what that could be, her wide gaze following each movement he makes.
“What is this?” a new nun asks, appearing from behind him and taking the item from his hands. She looks at the heart-shaped locket she pulls out of the bag, suspicion clear in her gaze. “...A protective charm, perhaps?”
               “sorta like one, yeah.”
And – as if arriving in order of age – she seems to be the youngest of the three women he's greeted today, likely in her fifties. Black bangs decorate her forehead, and there's a mole at the left corner of her chin. Her clothing fits just right, and though her face shows maturity, there isn't a hint of a wrinkle anywhere around. The sharp scent of sterility hangs in the air as she stands before him, and blue gloves protect her hands. She has brown skin a shade darker than the first nun he'd met, along with eyes of a similar colour.
               “...I’ll be studying it, then.”
She secures the locket in a tight fist, slips it into her habit's pocket, and – finally – walks off to where the two oldest nuns are sitting.
“Are you married?” she asks, her question far too blunt for her to be looking so stern.
Caught off guard, Sans remains silent for a few seconds, until he processes his answer.
               “no, uh…”
He looks left, and he looks right.
All three nuns – minus the one he’d met before today – stare intently at him.
The one not staring at him seems busy with the tea leaves she's gone off to inspect, these dropped onto the coffee table with the arrival of the new nun.
So, he takes that as him needing to answer in a way that will keep the group interested, at least until the one responsible for dragging him into this messy introduction finishes doing whatever she's doing with those tea leaves she won't stop shuffling through.
“but i used to be,” Sans says, trying his best at a sad visage through the dimming of his irises, the lowering of his droopy gaze, and the deep fall of his usual grin. “she passed away two years ago, and that's why i wanna look after frisk a bit more, since they're like a siblin’ to my own kid.”
Heavy silence and worried expressions ensure things are already moving in his favour.
Though, he can't allow himself to let that show, no matter how his skull itches to be permitted a triumphant grin.
“and cuz the two of ‘em haven't been feelin’ well since they got to the surface… i've been wantin’ to ask sister magdalene if she can help me with the situation.”
Everyone's gazes turn toward the one he's mentioned.
In response, she slips the tea leaves into a bag, sits back down, grips the bag in her hands, and clenches it like it's her lifesaver.
“You know how to make monster medicine?” Sister Evelyn – seemingly the second youngest of the four Sisters present – asks, a frown on her face.
               “U- Um…”
At the sight of Sister Magdalene being unable to reply, Sans decides it's best to carry on with the act.
“she's been givin’ it a shot,” he intervenes, sitting up straighter and glancing at her side. “…ain’t that right?”
She meets his eye sockets, then nods – once, and slowly.
               “...Yes.”
A harrumph follows, and she fixes her posture before sparing another glimpse at him.
Then, she breathes deep, looks elsewhere, and closes her eyes.
“Very few hospitals accept monsters into their facilities, so I have been… trying to make up for that.”
Her chest rises and falls like a hammock against a soft wind.
“It- It doesn't feel right to do nothing, when I am aware I can do at least… something. Or anything.”
“Is it truly necessary for you to get involved with something so dangerous?” Evelyn intervenes, her sorrowful voice deepening. “You should let professionals deal with this issue.”
“Even if guilt stops me from living peacefully?” A glare forms on Magdalene’s expression. “Trying to help is better than not trying at all!”
“You aren't prepared enough for this, and you know it, Sister Magdalene.” Evelyn scoffs. “You would be better off facing a horde of hungry wolves than dealing with something so… reckless.”
               And then, she scowls.
Magdalene, contrarily, smiles and walks off to the monster's side, propping her hands gentle yet firm on his shoulders – the way she squeezes leading him to believe she wants him to follow along.
“Even if I'm not, Mister Serif and I made an agreement,” she says, leaning closer, until she's almost resting her chin on top of his skull, though she shows she knows better than to do something like that with a stranger. “He will offer me safety and resources, while I will use that to perform the needed experiments to make effective medicine for humans and monsters alike.”
Still, the closeness her actions bring reveals that not only is her heart thumping like it wishes to be set free, but that she wants this to end, judging by how much her hands tremble as she tries to let him go.
And it's at this precise moment that he's reminded of the day after he first met her, when he was in the garden with her, and when she confessed she believed he looked like trouble.
“If my research were found out by people who are in disagreement… then the trouble would not be as worrying as it would be, if I were to focus on both species, instead of just monsters.”
The idea of her being threatened by him brings about an uneasy feeling in his soul, like he can't figure out whether he wants that or not.
               “Our agreement…”
She had been the one to confront him first, after all.
And despite the reasons for her anger having a sound basis on her worry as a mother, that doesn't mean he isn't against entertaining the idea that he can act dangerous, just to mess with her.
“...Our agreement is beneficial for both of us. For everyone.”
So far, she hasn't mentioned to her Sisters what he  told her the day of Frisk's arrival.
Nor does he believe her Sisters had been witnesses of her angered outburst upon that revelation.
In their eyes, he's simply an odd monster man who had been kind and caring enough to bring Frisk back home safe and sound, and who she welcomed into the garden with open arms – excluding from that narration the part where she slammed him against a wall and shamed him for how blatant his confession had been.
“Where will you be making these… experiments?” Evelyn asks, after an extensive silence from everyone around, the sole thing to keep calm being the sound of water boiling close by and birds chirping in the distance.
“Here,” Frisk's mother replies, finally walking away from him to tend to the boiling water. “I won't be going anywhere,” she carries on, giggling. “...If that's what you're so worried about.”
The eldest of the two huffs while the other laughs again, the disclosure of Sister Evelyn's true intentions seeming to lighten the mood.
“With Frisk being the Monster Ambassador and their health not being the greatest, Mister Serif offered that solution, so that we can both… overcome certain obstacles.”
Her voice breaks at that last line.
“Surely, if you've… r- read the news since their arrival last week…”
Even from the distance she's at, Sans can still see how her body shakes as she picks up the boiling water and pours some into each cup she's set on the counter.
               “You've…”
She sets the empty pot on the stove, then grabs a pair of cups, only to set them back down on the counter.
“You've seen what they plan to do with my child… Don't you?”
And as he saw coming from a mile away, she slips in her actions and burns herself with the stovetop.
In response, she hardly flinches, wet eyes and a shaky smile divulging her primordial concerns.
“They will be taken for questioning,” Theresa says, a grey, grim look on her face. “So that we may understand their reasons for freeing monsters from the Underground, even though they were treated poorly?”
Seemingly fatigued, he sees Magdalene rest her back against a counter, slouch, and cover her face with her palms, nodding into them – once and firmly.
“That is what brings into my attention just who are we letting into our convent as of late…” Evelyn says, her disagreement returning. “Undoubtedly, if most monsters brought harm upon them, you must be no exception, Mister Serif.” A brisk pause arrives with a sigh. “And though I'm sure you must mean well, you have yet to repent for what you've done. Right now…”
Her trailing off is accompanied by her standing up and pointing a finger at him.
“You are the chief of sinners,” she says, anger manifesting in her eyes and tone. “Frankly said… You are a wolf dressed as a sheep, trying to make yourself fit into a rigid mould you cannot possibly ever force yourself into – no matter how much you try, and no matter how much you attempt to redeem yourself for it.” Another pause arrives. “And… That is without bringing into this how you treated Sister Magdalene the day after Frisk's arrival, with you yanking her rosary away and… exposing her the way you did, even after she offered you an apology you did not deserve, and even her friendship, despite your questionable background.”
She walks to the door and opens it, gesturing for him to pass through the frame, sunlight blinding his gaze.
“Do yourself a favour, sir, and leave while I am still feeling merciful.” She scoffs. “You can keep your agreement with Sister Magdalene, but I sincerely do not want you here. Bring her whatever resources she may require, but stay away from her and this place. We will protect her the way we always have.”

I'm going to go ahead and make another introduction because I'm trying to help myself and other new accounts gain followers! Most people call me Rose although my name currently is Lucifera, but I tend to change my name every couple of weeks.
Why, you ask? Well for one my thoughts and views about myself and the world are always changing, for the better and to help myself adapt to these new changes, I find it beneficial to change my name as well. I know this isn't common and it's very unheard of, but it works for me and I'm unapologetic about it.
I'm a gender outlaw (she/her, they them) sometimes I have phases where I question this so it may change from time to time, not because I'm trying to be harmful, but because I'm discovering things about myself every day and I'm always questioning.
I'm diagnosed with ADHD and I'm self-diagnosed with Autism. I know many people don't approve of self-diagnosing but I've done much research learning about autism and disabilities, in general, especially since my son is Autistic and nonverbal. The proof is there and plenty of family members knew before I discovered this fact for myself. I don't need a diagnosis for something I already know to be true. Not saying I won't get diagnosed in the far or near future, but I'm also not going to stress about it.
I'm finally myself fully, without masking! It's been a long 20 years, before coming to this point in my life but I'm no longer ashamed of being "socially awkward," I'm not ashamed of being Autistic and having ADHD.
For so long I put myself in a box, afraid of displeasing anyone, afraid to speak my mind, I was known for being overly kind but also a pushover. This pleased a lot of people especially adults who viewed me as a "good child!"
Looking back on this infuriates me. Why is it that children are only called "good" when they don't speak up about other children/teachers belittling or bullying them? Why is it that when a child tries to speak up about anything, they are seen as "bad" or "misbehaved?"
This is a subject I will discuss thoroughly in my next blog post but for now, back to the topic at hand.
The point is, I'm no longer a pushover, I have grown in spirit and mind. I no longer see myself as that weak, helpless little girl who struggled silently when someone harmed me either emotionally, or physically.
I am myself, I've learned that I'm very outgoing and I use this to my advantage to speak up for others who struggle with disabilities, mental illness, and the LGBTQIA+ community. I will not shove myself in the back of the box for anyone! I see my voice as a gift that's able to help defend those when people wrong them. I'm a voice for the betterment of all! I will not be silenced, any longer.
I'm open about everything that I am. Now that I mention it, I'm also pansexual, however, I also go by the term bisexual. This means I'm attracted to all genders, male, female, trans men and trans women, bigender, gender neutral, etc. There are other terms that describe me, but I can't remember what the proper wording is for them. So I won't go into all of that now.
This is just another little intro about who I am and what I do. Anyone who follows me, especially but not limited to, new accounts, I will follow back! I want to help boost others and be a good friend!

In Flowers in the Palace, how are Nie Mingjue and Lan Xichen viewed by the country as a whole?
Nie Mingjue publicly overthrew (aka murdered) Wen Ruohan with no warning whatsoever, so he has a reputation as a pretty bloodthirsty emperor. However, things began to change when he started making reparations to WRH's various victims and married Lan Xichen, since taking a respected scholar for his Empress was viewed as an act of sympathy for the common people. But at the same time, he outlawed political executions and acts of physical discipline towards servants, so most wealthier households either love or hate him, while the middle/laboring classes think favorably of him. However, the military/trade aspects of the country are all going strong, so none of his opponents have been brave and/or foolish enough to complain about him.
Similarly, LXC is a mixed bag with opinions about her differing between genders instead of between social classes. Virtually all of her male subjects have issues with a woman being so deeply involved with the government, and after she passed her first set of new laws about girls’ education and legal marriage ages for teens, there were no remaining political factions that didn’t have a problem with her. But unlike with NMJ, Lan Xichen is also widely feared. Lan Xichen has her own network of spies that report directly to her, and the entire country knows that these spies exist, though no one knows who they are--and furthermore, getting on her bad side is worse than directly aggravating the Emperor, so there have been multiple assassination attempts during her reign as Empress, though no one has tried to kill NMJ.

Hello 👀❤️
So... I don't know if this will work or not, but I thought why not, I send it in... And if you don't like it, that's completely fine ❤️🔥
I really like how you write the characters' mind... What they are thinking or how they act... I was thinking, maybe a new mechanic (Reader) at Ferrari (yes, it's a Niki Lauda fic, you know me❤️🔥) who is really shy, but very good at their job, and Niki likes them and he is an asshole with everyone (which is normal from him) EXCEPT with the Reader... And like... Maybe at first he doesn't realize this, but then he does, and gets all conflicted like why is he getting soft suddenly, out of nowhere... (It is obvious, but not for him)... I'm curious how you would see this, write this... The ending of this story is up to you ❤️❤️
Love you ❤️🔥👀

What Is This Feeling [Niki Lauda x Mechanic!Reader]
Word count: 2.5k Warnings: lot of swearing by our favourite Rat King Author’s note: Niki is quickly turning into my comfort character to unleash my sass, thank you for giving me the chance to write him!
Part 2
On your first day at Ferrari nobody took you seriously, but to be a mechanic wasn’t exactly typing letters, it was not a place where somebody high up in the ranks would set a lover to give her some benefit and a free pay check.
You didn’t talk a lot, you stood your ground from the moment you put hands on any part of the car, but you weren’t exactly the chatty type and, being the only woman, it took you time to be allowed to the after work beer, to the birthdays and all the balancing that came with a good team spirit.
In a world full of bias about women, you were spared thanks to your abilities and knowledge. Or maybe, because the mechanics team had someone bigger to fight: Niki Lauda.
To work with him was thrilling, but stressful.
He would walk in at any hour of the day, break some egos, pile up an amount of changes that to make a brand new car would be a faster option.
You sat on the floor beside the baby, yes baby was the car, it wasn’t like you had to stay on the floor, there were more than plenty working stations, but it felt more comfortable for you: it gave you the chance to stand and look at things from afar, you were in need to touch, to understand, to put things together. It was your skill, but also your curse, because it was hard to gain yourself a space on the floor in such a fast paced environment like the one at Ferrari. You were working on the ignition when he stormed inside, the soft chats died fast and the noise of the radio was the only thing left, but he didn’t seem to mind the effect he had on people.
In a couple of long steps he was in front of one of your colleagues.
“What is this?” The man looked down to his sandwich like it was self explanatory, but the following silence brought him to answer “my lunch”
“Nice” Niki said, his lips curling downward in a very sarcastic amusement “well, take your lunch out of my garage because I don’t want your crumbles in my engine” he hissed picking the crumbles that effectively fell on the working table and sprinkling them like salt on the man’s face.
The man frowned and left to eat outside and avoid to punch him as Niki proceeded to his next victim.
“And you call this a design development? I call this dog shit”
“If this is a well done job, I’d better retire already before I get your good job to crack my skull open”
“Just begin again, don’t even ask”
“Are you sure you don’t work for McLaren? Because by the quality of your work I am starting to wonder”
One after the other all your colleagues fell under the axe of Niki’s commentary.
Nobody was spared, it was a butchery.
“So? What is this?”
You looked up at him as he towered over you, Satan himself would be less scary, and probably less attractive, to your eyes. His standing figure with rebel curls and his Ray-ban glasses in his left hand, the polo shirt under the fancy jacket, even his bad character gave him the edge so many men more conventionally attractive lack.
“I am working on the ignition” you said as he bent down crouching beside you as you showed him, his cologne filling your nostrils like the best smell your nose ever encountered.
“Okay, in what way?” He asked resting his elbows on his knees.
You gulped softly “Well, I am trying to experiment if I change this in here” and you pointed to a section in particular “maybe the car will have a better performance at the beginning of the race”
“Have you considered that it could over work the battery?”
“I did, but I wanted to see if I make here something like this” and you took a little tube showing how you lace it around the section “if I use this to push the cooler to work into this part as well, we might avoid over heating”
He listened touching his chin with the edge of his glasses thoughtfully.
“Give it a try”
He just said standing up.
Your colleagues looked at you shaking their heads as he turned around and everybody looked down to their tasks again, so then he left.
______________________________________________________________________ This wasn’t the first time, he wasn’t letting you do things he didn’t approve, but he always listened to you, he advised you, and the harshest thing he said was probably “I think you’re not looking at the bigger picture”
Nobody commented on it and beside some joke here and there, the little preference he had over you seemed to pass unnoticed mostly by him.
“You know, you really need a girlfriend” Clay, the other driver of the Ferrari alongside him, said during some tests.
Niki looked at him.
“Why? Do I look like one that has to fuck a woman to be fine?”
He laughed as Niki was always so overaggressive “No, but you treat everyone like bullshit beside the new girl, so you either can be an asshole only with men or your seduction technique needs a real check”
He frowned, eyebrows furrowing together as his lips parted in disbelief
“You nuts”
“Maybe, but I haven’t heard you complain about her as much as you complain about the rest of the world”
He shook his head “You are just letting you Italian genes getting your head stupid”
Clay laughed at him nodding knowingly “Sure, sure” he patted harshly on Niki’s back knowing how much he hated to be patted around like that as he moved to talk to one of the mechanics working on his car.
Niki crossed his arms resting against the wall of the garage, his eyes instinctively looking for your figure finding you to one of the working table writing down some notes over the changes applied while looking at the projects.
His eyes dropping on your ass like it was the first time he checked it, realising it wasn’t the first time he mentally noted it.
Well, he couldn’t really say you were unattractive, or not his type, or a good mechanic.
His thought process was suddenly interrupted as Clay himself approached you and you moved on side showing him the papers you were just writing on.
He nodded and said something to you, his hand casually resting on the small of your back making Niki’s jaw almost snap for how much he was gritting his teeth.
You shuffled on side avoiding the touch with a casual smile, but Clay kept talking to you and from afar Niki saw him say something and wave his pointed finger between himself and you. You shook your head and smiled turning down whatever he just offered with all the politeness you had, Niki pursued his lips slightly in amusement for his best girl’s behaviour.
Wait a second. Best girl?
He glared at Clay that smirked at him from afar, a big ‘I knew it’ smirk on his lips.
Niki bit the inside of his cheek not liking it.
He was with you like with everybody else, what the hell.
Niki ignored you all day, when you showed him something he himself requested to be shown, he shuffled away, when you handed him something he was looking for, he looked for it somewhere else, he just wasn’t meeting your eyes and hell and thunderstorm fell upon anyone that even tried to engage a talk with him on that day.
“I can’t with your boyfriend anymore, I swear” one of your colleagues muttered to you.
“He is not my boyfriend”
He looked at you “Then he’d better be soon, maybe he’ll chill out”
“Are you even paid to stand and do nothing?” Niki shouted from afar and you two parted ways faster than two kids smuggling candies during class. ______________________________________________________________________
The next day was the judgment day for all the changes done on the car, your nerves were cracking as Niki arrived in his driving suit and your eyes immediately snapped a mental photo on his figure.
Did you ever went home wishing to have his company? Yes.
Did you ever wondered if he was so aggressive ever in the intimate times? Way too much.
Did you have any chance? Probably no.
You let out a big sigh as your colleagues reassured you “Hey, if it doesn’t work we either get rid of the rat or have some more time to work on it” he joked but you didn’t feel any better.
Niki looked up as he noticed your worried look, your lips nibbling down on your lips, your foot tapping rhythmically and nervously, the sudden instinct to lean his hand on that waist of yours, to rest his leg beside yours to make it stop that nerve wracking dance, to forbid your lips any more damage not caused by him.
All of that crowded his mind and he growled tiredly.
Stupid Clay, with his stupid theories.
He finished getting ready and put on his helmet settling down in his spot rolling his shoulders back, he needed to focus.
The head mechanic came over him repeating all the changes and just annoying the hell out of him, he is not always around the car only to check you out.
“When you're done telling me what I know, tell me something I don’t, I beg you”
The head mechanic did a big effort not to spit into his face and just left him waving his arms in the air.
You touched on your forehead nervously, if you failed it would show in the timings or maybe the car won’t even start.
You looked at him, seconds before he pulled down the dark lid of his helmet, his dark eyes so focused a shiver creeped over you.
You gasped as the signal was given and the car started.
Your fingers finding their way to your mouth as you nibbled your skin.
The car was fast, that was sure, you leaned beside the head mechanic that was taking the time. You breathed heavily, your mind going through all the changes you did, all the small settlements, the little details.
An eternal list that kept repeating itself.
Then the question as he was halfway through the leap, what if you disappointed him?
What if he asked you to be sent away?
Then you looked down to the chronometer, he was already almost two seconds earlier than usual.
A smile started to grow on you, the excitement filling your veins.
The sound of the engine roaring beautifully, you made it!
Then it happened, some smoke raised up to the sky, one of the wheels snapped, the breath died in your throat.
The car flexed on side but Niki controlled it and guided it against the sandy side of the track that slowed it down until it stopped.
“He was breaking his record” the head mechanic sighed “now he is just going to break our balls”
Niki moved out of the car throwing his helmet on the ground pushing off roughly anyone that tried to help him or check if he was hurt, some of the mechanics moving to the tow truck to recollect the car, Niki moving past you, his face tense and his posture of someone ready to snap some necks. You didn’t see him for the rest of the day, nobody talked about him, nobody mentioned anything as the storm will fall on all of the team the next day.
Now it was the head mechanic to face it for all of you.
______________________________________________________________________
That night you stayed over time, the other colleagues told you to just go home, to not let the thing sink of you, to look at it with fresh eyes and all those circumstantial phrases people gift you when they try to cheer you up.
As always on the floor, you had now the chance to spread the pieces out, collect them into branches of types and use. You pulled closer your notebook writing down the ideas and things to remember to check, the image of Niki almost crashing gutting you even if you soon realised it wasn’t your change that set off the wheel, but it was part of the cause, the car was now too powerful and the stress on the suspensions was deadly.
You yawned lightly pulling a catalogue of replacements parts trying to find the best mix you could manage, but you surely had to make up something about it. You didn’t expect to solve the problem or to find the solution for everything with a creative twist, but to, at least, plan a sequence of possibilities to present to your chief the next day.
A hand slowly leaning a mug of steaming coffee beside you.
You looked up to find Niki there, another cup in his hand, those messy curls calling to be touched, his impeccable style always winning you over with a dark turtleneck and his tweed jacket.
“Found the problem?” He asked sharply as always.
He was surprised to see you there, he spent the rest of the afternoon after the malfunction with the head mechanic and some of the administrators as he needed a solution in time for the upcoming race.
So he decided he couldn’t trust their promises and reassurances, but take the matter in his own hand, for a change. But when he arrived he saw the lights still on and you there. He was almost tempted to leave, it wasn’t a good moment to screw things with one of his most talented mechanics.
But you, again, were so into it, you looked so beautiful with your working jumpsuit and the hair messed up nibbling on that pen like it was a matter of life and death.
He couldn’t just let you stay so beautiful and alone, who knows who could approach you.
You nodded “I think so” you said showing him the piece, he leaned his head on side studying it
“May I?”
You nodded as he took off his blazer before joining you on the floor, he crossed his legs, your knees touching as he stole those papers from your hand.
“Signal to the administration this night shift, or they won’t ever pay you” he muttered without looking away from the papers.
You smirked “I know, but it is more a matter of principle than money, I didn’t like the heart attack you gave me today”
You were surprised by your own words, maybe it was because you really were over caffeinated or just realising how it was the first time you were alone and how you felt comfortable around him. No, not comfort, it was trust, you trusted him.
He looked up from the papers up at you, he didn’t replied to your comment straightaway, he let it sink in, he let your presence sink in.
A one-sides smirk appeared on his lips

May I request h/c's (separately) of yandere Abbaccio, Narancia, Melone and Joleyne who stalk this random citizen and start to take a liking to them but their victi- dArling legit doesn't give a shit and when they see them stalking them and are just like "oh it's that weirdo again" or "I'm aware that you're in my house, just don't eat my snacks". Thank you for your time and sorry if it's too specific lol -⌖
Yandere! Melone
Pay him mind or not this man can’t take a hint (or at least refuses to), and your lack of caring whether Melone comes or goes just makes things worse.
He sees your indifference as an open invitation, the man will often pop up wherever you go out to eat at often if he gets the gist of your schedule. Often makes sure you sit right across from him and of course he already ordered what you usually ask for.
Will make some rather lewd comments when it’s just you and him, and he’s rather persistent in how good you’d look in certain clothing. There’s some touching your arms, like poking and prodding type deal as he describes the fabric and how heavenly it would likely feel on your skin.
Honestly the more he does to you, there’s a good chance you might get used to his unbelievable dense nonsense in trying to woo you. Which is fine for him he loves a game of pursuit.
Most people would think one would get bored of somebody after their lack of caring, in Melone’s case he just becomes emboldened. As he tries to push something that isn’t there. It’ll become pretty obvious when he starts buying you things couples would for each other.
Even with his lack of sense in properly romancing someone, he can be fairly observant of your body language if you allow him to be around that much. He has a copy of the key to your house too at that point, it’s pretty much open season for the man with invasiveness.
Doesn’t hesitate to sit close to you while you’re watching something, nothing too dramatic surprisingly other then yours and his thighs touching. Though he finds other ways to inexplicably invade your personal space.
Insistently wants to feed you whatever desserts he decides to buy or make for you. He’ll even bargain to leave you alone for a small amount of time in exchange. A worthy trade in his mind for he sees you more than any kind of friend or acquaintance.
Yandere! Jolyne Kujo
This woman is passionate as can be and certainly won’t betray you in any capacity. She sees her stalking as extra measures to protect you in a way you might not understand. It does make her laugh a bit whenever you simply tell her to not eat your snacks whenever she crashes around your place.
Overall though she definitely wants to avoid aloofness as much as possible, Jolyne already had a hard time with Jotaro and how distant he was with her. And not knowing the reason for the longest time didn’t help either. So she seeks to bond and maybe make something more out of being around you.
She gets pretty friendly, she might twirl some of your hair around her finger and let it slide down while talking to you. Or she sits on your counter right in front of you depending what mood she’s in.
Her particular thing is getting in close quarters with you in some capacity. Maybe you’re getting ready in the bathroom, she’ll quickly be ready there for you to help prepare for the day ahead.
Shopping is another way she decidedly gets time with you, she knows plenty about shampoo and body soap whether it be for men or women. Lipstick? Panties, boxers, dress shirts or dresses, she seems to delve into picking something you like quickly. Everytime you happen to go with her recommendation Jolyne beams with pride.
Often you’ll find her laying on your bed whenever you get home, asking how your day was. As if she didn’t happen to break into your house with little or no warning. The way her eyes look at you almost expecting and begging makes it difficult not to answer. Even if you don’t at first however she finds a way to coax a conversation out of you.
She loves resting her head on your shoulder or putting her arms around your waist. If she can’t do either of those she’s usually trying to intertwine your hand with her own.
The young woman also isn’t hesitant in leaving you some rather passionate letters. It might be with a small gift or something or it’s placed somewhere in your room if she has to do other things.
Yandere! Narancia Ghirga
This teen is practically a lost puppy, he seems to try and seek your approval for some reason. Even though you probably didn’t do much to warrant such admiration. He just saw you as someone to do something with when no one else could before drowning in an obsessive search.
He asks you an abundant amount of random questions just to get you to keep your mind on him. He gets pretty pissy at whoever decides to barge in and interrupt your conversation even if such a thing didn’t happen.
Narancia doesn’t mind hanging outside your place for a couple hours if you’re not home. He just kind of hovers around the place, looking for a sign of a vehicle you ride or drive in or seeing you in the distance if you walked. It gets people talking but he quickly dissuades that gossip with quite a few sharp tongued insults.
Peaks in your windows several times as well, occasionally he does get paranoid that you’re inside but are refusing to let him in. But after a little while he might realize you’re actually out and pace around your property once more.
If he happens to see you out on the streets of Naples, there’s no doubt he’d run toward you to greet you. Or he’ll usually browse somewhere to get you something he believes you might like.
There are times that he’s thoughtlessly in your kitchen looking for something to munch on. But it’s not like you mind right? Honestly he might restock some or your groceries just to be somewhat helpful. it’s likely just to help see him in a positive light even if he did pick the lock to your door to get in. It’s the thought that counts in his head
Yandere! Leone Abbacchio
Abbacchio is finicky with his deep interest with you, it most likely came after some sort of favor you did for him. Even just a quick check on his well-being helped a bit. So he ends up tailing you every time you walk home from work. If you go home any different way he tries to find out how. You’ll usually be questioned of course.
Whether you say much to him doesn’t matter as Abbacchio simply wants to drink in your presence. Just the way you confidently hold yourself up through your life keeps him going.
Though this doesn’t mean he will keep space with everything you do, often the man will do his best to separate you from those he doesn’t approve of. Even if he has to use underhanded means to do so.
Often replays moments in recent conversation that you have been in to himself. Occasionally Abbacchio acts like you’re saying these things to him.
The man internalizes your aloof behavior, and consistently thinks about how you should look at him. What things do you not tell him? What have you said that had been out of his hearing? He didn’t deserve answers but his obsessive nature tediously gnaws at him.
When he gets brazen in his jealousy he doesn’t hesitate to just take you away from the situation that you were involved in. And honestly he would likely end up locking you in your own room given enough time to set up locks while you were gone. Sure you may have not cared about that particular scene but he did.

[AO3] [WATTPAD]
The rest of the morning was spent getting dressed and ready for their day to begin. Rise only had a few of the more cliched touristy things in mind, since she had been planning it out with the whole of the Investigation Team — such as whale watching, or hitting up Okinawa World. Even though none of them were old enough to drink their fabled "snake liquor", they were all for exploring the caves that ran beneath the theme park.
When Ai had asked if she wanted her to return the favour, Rise declined. The truth was that while she desperately wanted to sate her urges, she knew they were both feeling a little out of sorts from all their exploration so far — which was why she thought the downtime would be good. Now they could sort through their feelings while sightseeing, and come back to it several hours later, hopefully having gained some kind of wisdom along the way.
Though there was one small problem…
"Will you stop that?" Ai hissed as she and Rise lingered toward the back of the group climbing the steps to the historical Shuri Castle. Yukiko was definitely the one most interested, but the others didn't mind seeing the notable sites.
"Stop whaaat?"
"Stop trying to grab me by the balls. I tried to tell you, it's not a toy!"
Pursing her lips, she pulled her closer to whisper in her ear, "It's my toy. I'm having a lot of fun with it." But then she dropped back with a giggle. "And we both know that if you didn't want me to, you'd try harder to stop me. But all you have to say is 'You need to stop' again and I'll know you're serious."
Ai pursed her lips… but said nothing. Perfect. She had a feeling she was enjoying the attention, even if not the specific form it took. "Dumb bitch," she said yet again.
"You love meeeeee," she cooed with a grin and a little bounce as they reached the top, leaning over to rest her head against her shoulder. Even though she decided not to grab for her unmentionables anymore, she wasn't going to leave her alone.
"Okay, you two," Yosuke sighed irritably as he laced his fingers behind his head. "I know you two have this whole weird 'bet' going, or whatever it is, but do you have to rub it in for the rest of us who don't have anybody? Like, look at Yukiko and Chie and Naoto; they don't have boyfriends! You're gonna make 'em feel bad, too!"
Apparently, he had thought appealing to their solidarity with other women would be more effective than pleading his own case. But Rise just giggled, because she saw the look Yukiko and Chie shared. Naoto was as stoic as ever… but she thought she noticed Kanji blushing. That would make perfect sense, those two — she just had no evidence they were also a thing.
Poor Yosuke. No chance at love unless Narukami came back, or he decided to give in to-
"WHAT A PRETTY CASTLE!" Teddie burst out in a gushy tone of voice, lacing his fingers together next to his own face as he stared up at the doorways. "Ohhh, can we live here? Pleeeeaaaase?!"
"No," Yosuke sighed very tiredly with no hesitation whatsoever. "And I thought I reminded you a whole damn five minutes ago to keep it down!"
Rise was laughing at that reprimand when her cell phone went off, making much more noise than Teddie ever had been. Holding up a finger, she stepped a little further away from the group to take it.
"Yes?"
"Miss Kujikawa."
After a brief second of surprise, she managed to breathe, "Minoru-chan! What's… I mean, hey!"
Minoru Inoue's stoic voice returned over the earpiece of her phone as she turned away from the group. "I have been trying to call you all morning. Is there an issue with your cell phone carrier? Would you like me to look into the cause of-"
"No, no, it's… it's fine." This was inconvenient, but she wanted to get it out of the way as quickly as possible. "So what's up? I'm out with friends, we're on vacation."
"Yes, about that… I'm going to send you a couple of images. Tell me if you notice anything."
So she pulled the phone back in order to check the screen. Sure enough, within seconds the images were coming in via text, and when they finally loaded…
"O-oh, you saw those!" she laughed as lightly as she could manage despite the way her heart began pounding in her throat. So many pictures! Each one featured her and it behara laughing together, walking hand in hand, arguing… only one or two showed anything that could be construed as romantic, but all of them could have been explained away as friendship if one tried hard enough. "Yep, all according to plan. It's fine! They're fine, don't… don't worry about 'em!"
"Which 'plan' was this? Certainly nothing approved by the label."
"Something I thought of on the spur of the moment. It's so easy for an idol to fade into the background, isn't it? Well… here's me, finding a way to stand out! It'll be great — you'll see!"
"There are already a lot of polarising comments on the message boards," Inoue went on, and Rise found herself glancing around to make sure nobody else could hear her. A couple of her friends — including Ai — were glancing over at her to make sure everything was alright, but they were far enough away they probably didn't catch a word. "Everyone is very invested — for both positive and negative reasons."
"See? It's working!"
"No, you misunderstand, Miss Kujikawa. The label is uncomfortable with your career taking this direction. They're considering severing their association with you."
Rise felt her blood chill in her veins. "They're gonna fire me? Because… I'm dating a girl?" She had considered adding a 'maybe' in there, but decided against it. That wasn't how she wanted to move forward with her life.
"They're considering it. There's no real official position on these matters, but businessmen tend to be more conservative. Even if they like the idea of flash and attention-seeking behaviour because it typically only helps a celebrity's visibility, if it's the wrong kind of visibility, it could eventually reflect poorly on the label itself."
"That's not fair," she immediately shot back. And then her higher reasoning skills kicked back in. "And they already know what a moneymaker my voice and my looks are, that I know how to work it. I'm cute, and I know how to be cute."
"The label wants you to be cute and available," he stressed. "They understand that most of our idols will marry eventually, but they hope to get as many men lusting after the idea of being your boyfriend for as long as possible."
"They're delusional."
"Yes, they are. But that's where the money is."
Sighing, she found a nearby pillar and leaned back against it as she thought about the entirety of the situation. Tried to weigh her options. "Well… okay, so I can ride the scandal for a while, can't I? Like, there hasn't been a lesbian idol. Not that I remember."
"Don't you think there's a reason why you can't remember? Because they aren't encouraged to be out publicly. And if they can't conduct that business in private, then the labels have no use for them."
Anger was starting to overtake her anxiety. "That 'business', huh? Maybe it's not any of their business."
"Of course it is. An idol in this country? Literally every aspect of your personal life reflects on your profession, colours public opinion. You know this as well as I do."
"Well… I don't care. Like, if they really want to cut me loose, they can go ahead, but I think they would really be shooting themselves in the foot if they don't see how this plays out first."
"They're already on point of doing that, Miss. You're already essentially 'retired' and trying to make a comeback. If there were going to be a homosexuality scandal, it would be ideally placed for when you're already riding high on the charts, or are on a slight decline — and even then, it's still very risky. So you should really start thinking about whether or not you want this comeback at all."
"Now you're starting to piss me off," she snapped. "This isn't a 'scandal' or a 'business' or any of that stuff! This is my life! Isn't the whole point for me to be entertaining? I can do that and be with a woman at the same time!" She heard him start to interrupt, but she pushed ahead, "Maybe it's about time Japan had an openly queer pop star, because there sure as hell aren't enough of us! So you can shut the fuck up until you have something a little less caveman to say!"
And she hung up on him. Deep down, she knew she was being unfair to Minoru; he was just trying to do his job, and seeing everything through that public relations lense. But she hated the fact that they were trying to tell her she couldn't even date the woman she wanted to date. Nevermind that she was serious about it, and they all thought this was either a publicity stunt, or just some random person she wanted to hold hands with for five seconds before throwing her away. Everything in the world of light music was so immaterial. She wasn't even sure she really was gay or bisexual or whichever label fit her; why did it have to be so important to everyone when it didn't even affect them?
Looking over at Ai was enough to reassure her that she had done the right thing. Even though she wasn't even paying attention to her at the moment, just looking around the brightly-coloured interior of the castle, she was still just as gorgeous as ever — and she was a woman. The only woman Rise had ever found herself thinking about as not just attractive, but as someone she was attracted to. Every time she tried to examine that and figure out if it was a fluke, she just found herself falling yet harder for the stunning upperclassman. Who wouldn't be? Plenty of boys wanted to be with her, so it was understandable.
Because at least some small part of her was lesbian. Maybe more than a small one.
As she stowed her phone, she took a look at Chie and Yukiko. Chie was cute in a playful, carefree way, and Yukiko was so elegant. Could she be into them? No, not really; she had never thought about them that way in the past and wasn't too inclined to start now. Though if she were to choose…
That was interesting. Her brain instantly whispered, "It would be Yukiko," and she didn't even understand the reason. Was she into girlier girls?! Turning her attention to Chie, she knew she was also appealing in a different way, but something about that extra-feminine… maybe it was because she associated that with Ai now. She and Yukiko were both very put together, even if Yukiko took a simpler approach to her dress and makeup and hair; more traditional.
Weird thoughts. Shaking her head out, she jogged to catch up with the group, putting on a happy face.
"What was that shit all about?" Kanji asked idly.
"Nothing," she said with a big smile, trying to put her best foot forward. "What about you guys? What's this all about?"
After a brief pause, Chie said, "It's… a castle…?"
"Well, um, yes, but are we all having fun? Come on, get excited — we're in Okinawa! Away from our parents and school and all that dumb stuff! Let's have FUN!"
Nobody could argue with that.
                                                ~ o ~
Only once they were at lunch did Ai catch up to her and confront her on trying to hide her true feelings about that phone call. After she had related the entirety of the conversation, Ai looked like she would throw her soba and chanpuru at the wall; she even threatened to pick it up and do that very thing.
"Shhh, stop that," Rise half-snickered. "It's not that big a deal."
"It is to me! That fucking asshole thinks he can push you around and tell you who to be?!"
"I know! It's so gross, and invasive, and… I just don't think it's very nice for the label to be breathing down my neck so much!"
Ai sighed as she stirred her noodles distractedly, posture slumping. "But you'd probably better think about doing as they say."
"Huh?"
"Well, you have your entire future to think about, right? I don't want to be the one holding you back. They're gross, but they're probably also just reading the room. They know what it takes to get you where you want to be, and… I ain't it."
A flash of anger welled up within Rise as she picked at her rafute. "No. You're what I need because you're my friend and you make me happy."
"Friend, huh? You do that with all your friends?" When Rise opened her mouth, she held up her hand, chopsticks still between her fingers. "Just messing with you."
"Shut UP, oh my GOD." Then they both laughed very briefly before Rise felt another sigh coming on. "Honestly, I think they're wrong about this. I've checked the online spaces myself, too — don't they think I have? Don't they think I'm better at it than those old crusty guys are?!"
"Tell them, girl!"
"Are you two okay over there?" Chie asked with a little laugh.
"NO!" they both answered, only making both tables laugh. There hadn't been enough space at any one table at the restaurant they found, so most of them ended up at the big one. Ai had volunteered the two of them to take another small one nearby — and Rise now realised the reason was this interrogation.
"Anyway, if they don't want me on the label anymore, that's that. I can find a way to pursue music without them."
Mouth full, Ai just nodded and pointed her chopsticks at her for a second until she swallowed. "YES. The internet is here and it's queer, and they're old guard who are going to die out. Viral videos are really starting to become a big part of how artists get noticed. YouTube and Niconico and stuff. Who even cares about TV anymore?"
"A lot of people," Rise sighed resignedly. "Especially in rural areas — which will also be the same people who don't want to see me dating a woman. Just not kids our age as much as we used to."
"Well… okay, yeah, that's true."
"It's okay, though. The future isn't for old people, it's for us. Me being who I am, dating who I want to date, is part of pushing forward, y'know? Not that I want to be some big activist… I don't know enough about that stuff. Not as much as you probably do. But I'm not going to hide who I am just because some old people tell me I have to; I've done enough of that for a lifetime. Now I just want to figure out the real Rise and love her, and show the world who she is."
Though she had finished and gone back to eating a moment later, waiting for Ai to respond, she never did. So eventually she glanced up to see her simply smiling across the table at her, elbows leaning on its surface as her mascara-laden eyelashes fluttered a little.
"What?"
"Nothing. Just proud of what a bitch you can be when you need to."
"Huh?! I'm not a bitch!"
"It's a compliment, dumbass. Bitches get shit done."
"Oh. Well, um… thank you?"
Ai chuckled at her for a moment, prompting Rise to kick her under the table. Then they both started flicking tiny bits of food at each other from across the tabletop until Yosuke asked what the hell they were doing, prompting a loud peal of laughter from them both. Even though at the time, Rise was mostly worried about her career and whether or not she was making the right steps, she would forever look back on that as a glorious moment she had shared with Ai Ebihara. With her girlfriend.

interesting I was wondering what you thought of this; my moms is a huge advocate for women getting their education and not entirely depending on a man. however she is worried with the rise of female doctors, because where I'm from even though it's sort of sexist but pople send their daughter into medical fields (doctors, pharmacist, dentist or nurse) because it is known that job has the most job security and people don't trust men to have their daughter financially depended on ->
-> so if women do actually go into medical school or pharmacy or dentistry, they still graduate fairly young 23/25 and get married (hopefully to another doctor they met in college), majority of them never specialize even (or even work) and the ones who do specialize in family medicine because it’s short and easy. so you see even though people want a job thats good for their daughter, they don’t want them to go the whole mile in order to take care of the kids. That’s an interesting discussion, so I’d like to thank you for bringing it up. It’s a hard question, with no easy or definite answer. On a wider level, medicine is a vocational degree. And whilst there are no rules or laws in place about who should study medicine, we could argue that people have an ethical duty to at least consider if they want to do it. Because if too many people who don’t want to actually be doctors take up all the places, you’ll end up with no actual doctors, and lots of people disappearing off with their state-funded education. Now, in reality, people have all sorts of different reasons for studying medicine then not staying in it. Some were kind of forced into it by their parents, or pressured into it by their school, and it took them a while to realise that clinical medicine is just not for them. Sometimes even people who went into it with their eyes open, genuinely feeling they want to do medicine can realise halfway through that it’s just not for them. And a small number do the degree because they can, and they know it’s a good qualification, and they hope to go into banking afterwards or earn their Mrs degree or something else entirely. Now, I personally believe it’s ethically better if you only start studying medicine if you actually have some interest in it. You may not guarantee that you will stay in medicine, but there’s absolutely no point in going in knowing it’s not what you want to do. Because medicine is stressful, and hard, and you’ll get so much more out of university if you pick something you really want to do. And if you want to go into banking or consulting etc, you can do just as well going to a prestigious university and studying a subject you actually like, as if you did medicine. The reason why things are complicated, is because in my experience, many people who genuinely passionately wanted to do medicine also drop out. And from the outside, you’d never be able to tell. And going back to the people who are pressured by their parents; I don’t think it’s fair to be harsh on them, either, given how big an impact your parent’s views and approval can have on your life when you are 17. I can completely understand why some of my peers  went that way. I’m happy to report that when hese people get a bit older, they have more independence and a chance to work out what works for them. And when they find themselves a stable, decent job in the field they actually love it’s much easier for their parents to accept they don’t want to be doctors. Because I think that a lot of the traditional parents are coming from a place of love when they advise their children about their future. Most want their children to have more stable lives, and less hardships than they did. Most parents hope their children will find stable, well paying work which will allow them financial security and independence (and protect them against hardship), and medicine being a job with that reputation, (and a decent amount of social cachet) is desirable to many people for that reason. Unfortunately, medicine is also stressful, involves moving around, way too many exams, being sued, and generally has lots of bad points that the public don’t really consider enough, because they focus on the ‘good side’.I can see why your mum is concerned; although there are more women (which is good), there’s also a culture surrounding female education that means that it’s important, but only until you can get married and have kids, after which you’re expected to focus only on this. And your mum (and others) worry that there may be lots of women in med school, but if most of them end up leaving medicine, then what’s the point? And what do you do if you end up with fewer doctors because they all leave? And I can see that concern, and I think it mirrors some of the concerns people have here (though here the concern is usually about women doctors working part-time, or all genders leaving). You cleverly mention what the parents want for the girls who study medicine. But the exciting thing is, those girls will have opinions of their own about what they want to do. And with each generation, they will get bolder, more determined, and have more opportunities and choice, because of the efforts of those that went before them. I remember one of my female lecturers talking about her mother, who was a female consultant in a time when that was more unusual, and some of the difficulties she faced. She shared this in an ancient lecture theatre, which now contains more women than men; something its founders would likely never have imagined! Progress happens, it just works differently in different places.Even of those girls whose parents advise leaving medicine, some of them will still stay in medicine. And if they are supported, that number will be higher. Some need more support; from their partner, from their community, and from their family. It’s tough, because what that situation needs is much slower and harder to achieve: a cultural shift that goes beyond valuing women’s education because it grants them the opportunity to get a husband, but recognising that it grants her even more: independence, satisfaction in her life, the chance to make a difference. And when that follows, society can work on the next step, which is understanding that women and men, everyone needs a manageable work-life balance. And that by allowing workers to be more flexible we will lose less of them to child-rearing or illness etc. Now, I think most countries still have far to go on this front; even those countries that are good at giving lip-service to women working in respected or traditionally male fields, often don’t take enough steps to make sure women coming back after maternity leave, looking after kids, or looking after a sick relative are supported enough. And many sysyems don’t do enough to support people who need to go part time, whether for their health, or family reasons. On the other hand, I can see why people want to spend time with their kids; that’s something that happens here, too. And it’s not just women, either. Our male peers also want to be more involved in their childrens’ lives. Our generation is more likely to take advantage of shared parental leave so that dads can spend time with their babies, too. Some of my male colleagues have also complained that they feel they spend more time with other people’s kids than their own. I’ve seen plenty of my male peers stress over work-life balance and seeing enough of their children. Medicine is time consuming,  and many of us wonder if we are getting the balance right. So I can see why the parents you describe would want their kids to take the easy route; nobody wants to see their kid go through more difficulty than they have to. Even though it’s rather presumptive of parents to decide what’s best for their grown-up children, it can still be hard for parents to realise where the boundaries are, particularly if you’re in a culture where the older generation is meant to be consulted as an authority. My culture is similar, and my relatives give their opinions so freely, I imagine it would horrify my English friends! Nevertheless, the younger generation have to choose what is best for them, as much as they can.Even here in the UK, we are getting more doctors working part time (both male and female, but often female), in order to spend more time with their kids. It was always expected (according to my middle aged medical family friends) that if doctors got married, one of them would go part time or go into GP so that the other could focus on their career whilst the first partner was more stable in their children’s lives. And you’ll find it easy to guess which gender that role usually fell to! Women. Because even until recently (and arguably even now), it’s still seen as wrong for a woman to be quite as committed to her career as a man is expected to be. And if the family unit have to sacrifice career progression for the sake of family, it’s still expected for the woman to be the one doing it. Part of it is direct pressure from family, friends and work, but much of it is cultural; if we’re surrounded by these ideas then as we grow up, we teach boys that their career is paramount, whilst we teach girls that family should be the only thing that matters. But things are changing; many of my male colleagues spend almost as much time as my female colleagues talking about their plans for family, and how they plan to balance things. And many of my female colleagues have set themselves high career goals regardless of where they stand on having kids. But, even if we get to the point where men and women are equally likely to stay home with the kids or go part time, we will still have to adapt our workforce around the fact that people will want a better work-life balance; we can’t just pretend we are still in the ‘good old days’ when women stayed home, and men worked silly shifts at work, and could afford to because their wives basically did everything else for them. People rarely live like this now; both men and women (and everyone in between) have a lot more on their plate than they used to. And you know what? The ‘good old days’ were never that good; many of our peers are the kids of medics who worked under unforgiving rotas. Ask a doctor’s kid from those days how much they saw their dads or mums, and many will tell you hat they hope to do parenting very differently. If I had to summarise it, It’d be this: I don’t think girls should be pressured into going to med school for a Mrs degree, (or that boys should be pressured into being doctors, either), but the factors surrounding why parents value educaiton but value their daughters looking after the children far more, are complex and rooted in culture. Cultures can and do change, but it takes time, and it takes people trying new things for others to see that it’s not so bad after all.

Hi~ I just found your blog ad I love it! If you don't mind me asking, what are your thoughts on the role Kevan played in Cersei's walk of shame and his thoughts during it? I understand that he likely couldn't have helped her in any way, but his thoughts on her during it really rubbed me the wrong way =( Also how do you think Cersei will feel about his death? And finally, If Tywin could somehow see beyond the grave and witness the walk of shame, do you think his opinion on Kevan would change?
Hi! Thank you!
It seems that the idea of the walk of atonement came up during Kevan’s meeting with the High Sparrow, shortly after Cersei confessed some of her crimes:
“I have spoken with His High Holiness. He will not release you until you have atoned for your sins.”“I have confessed.”“Atoned, I said. Before the city. A walk—”“No.” She knew what her uncle was about to say, and she did not want to hear it. (Cersei I, ADWD)
It’s possible that Kevan really couldn’t do anything about it and wouldn’t dare to openly oppose the Faith, but later he talks about it as if he had an active role in it:
“Whatever Cersei may have done, she is still a daughter of the Rock, of mine own blood. I will not let her die a traitor’s death, but I have made sure to draw her fangs. All her guards have been dismissed and replaced with my own men. In place of her former ladies-in-waiting, she will henceforth be attended by a septa and three novices selected by the High Septon. She is to have no further voice in the governance of the realm, nor in Tommen’s education. I mean to return her to Casterly Rock after the trial and see that she remains there. Let that suffice.” The rest he left unsaid. Cersei was soiled goods now, her power at an end. Every baker’s boy and beggar in the city had seen her in her shame and every tart and tanner from Flea Bottom to Pisswater Bend had gazed upon her nakedness, their eager eyes crawling over her breasts and belly and woman’s parts. No queen could expect to rule again after that. In gold and silk and emeralds Cersei had been a queen, the next thing to a goddess; naked, she was only human, an aging woman with stretch marks on her belly and teats that had begun to sag… as the shrews in the crowds had been glad to point out to their husbands and lovers. Better to live shamed than die proud, Ser Kevan told himself. “My niece will make no further mischief,” he promised Mace Tyrell. (Epilogue, ADWD)
“I have made sure to draw her fangs”. Is it a coincidence that Cersei receives the same punishment that Tywin inflicted on Tytos’ mistress, which Kevan remembers vividly?
I have no reason to feel guilty, Ser Kevan told himself. Tywin would understand that, surely. It was his daughter who brought shame down on our name, not I. What I did I did for the good of House Lannister. It was not as if his brother had never done the same. In their father’s final years, after their mother’s passing, their sire had taken the comely daughter of a candlemaker as mistress. […] Tytos Lannister’s ear was between his lady’s legs. She had even taken to wearing their mother’s jewels. Until the day their lord father’s heart had burst in his chest as he was ascending a steep flight of steps to her bed, that is. All the self-seekers who had named themselves her friends and cultivated her favor had abandoned her quickly enough when Tywin had her stripped naked and paraded through Lannisport to the docks, like a common whore. Though no man laid a hand on her, that walk spelled the end of her power. Surely Tywin would never have dreamed that same fate awaited his own golden daughter. “It had to be,” Ser Kevan muttered over the last of his wine. His High Holiness had to be appeased. Tommen needed the Faith behind him in the battles to come. And Cersei… the golden child had grown into a vain, foolish, greedy woman. Left to rule, she would have ruined Tommen as she had Joffrey. (Epilogue, ADWD)
Why would Kevan feel guilty if it was ALL the High Sparrow’s doing? Also:
Cersei was soiled goods now, her power at an end.
that walk spelled the end of her power.
AT THE VERY LEAST, Kevan washed his hands clean. But, in my opinion, once the High Sparrow made it clear that he wasn’t going to release Cersei until she had publicly “atoned”, it was Kevan who came up with the idea of the WoS, drawing inspiration from Tywin’s punishment of Tytos’ mistress, firmly convinced that he was acting in the realm’s, in Tommen’s, and even in Cersei’s best interest. The fact that Cersei was currently locked in a cell like a rat was an outrageous insult to house Lannister and to the crown, and made the young king look weak, so he had to get her out of it some way. But at the same time Cersei needed to be put in her place, stripped of all her weapons and permanently removed from power. The WoS killed two birds with one stone. (for the record, Kevan isn’t wrong to believe that Cersei is a 100% terrible ruler and a danger to herself and to Tommen. He also had plenty of reasons to resent her on a personal level, for what she did to Lancel and for the titles she denied him out of spite. But fairly sympathetic motivations aside, if he really is behind the concept of the WoS, he chose a disgustingly misogynistic way to deal with her.)
If Tywin could somehow see beyond the grave and witness the walk of shame, do you think his opinion on Kevan would change?
as we see in the passage above, Kevan is tormented by the thought of What Would Tywin Think of him. He tells himself he had every reason to act the way he acted, and wouldn’t Tywin do the same anyway? Didn’t he use the exact same punishment before? Didn’t he also publicly punish and humiliate Tyrion? But the problem with Tywin is that he had such MASSIVE double standards. Women who behave like harlots need to be crushed, ten times so if they embarrass house Lannister. But not if they’re Lannisters themselves, because a Lannister is always > everything else. Except Tyrion. Tyrion needs to be punished every day of his life, BUT NOT BY OTHER PEOPLE, because we don’t want to look weak, GOD FORBID.
Kevan tries to convince himself that Tywin would approve, but Tywin followed no rational logic and was always a huge self serving hypocrite about this sort of things (not that Kevan seems to be any better, as far as hypocrisy goes). The main problem with Cersei’s WoS is that FROM THE OUTSIDE, actually from every perspective, it’s the Faith who inflicts that punishment. It looks like the High Sparrow brought house Lannister to its knees, and Tywin would #rage against that. Kevan thinks he took a page from his brother’s book, and the irony is HE TOTALLY DID, but unfortunately this means that he let Cersei, his own niece, the daughter Tywin worked so hard to make queen, be turned into a laughingstock in front of the population of King’s Landing. And who benefits from that? In the eyes of everyone that counts, not Tommen the boy king, not Kevan the lackluster Lannister, not Jaime who is somewhere in the Riverlands doing fuck knows what, but the Tyrells. I think Tywin’s rolling in his grave, to be honest.
how do you think Cersei will feel about his death?
Conflicted, perhaps oddly pleased (Kevan is her uncle, and yet he didn’t lift a finger for her) but mostly terrified, confused, under attack. More scared than ever, thus more dangerous and more determined to get her payback and destroy her enemies. Kevan’s death is another sign that someone is targeting the Lannisters, one by one, and Cersei’s getting increasingly paranoid and not without cause. Varys made sure to use a crossbow, so she will blame either Tyrion (she tried to blame on him what happened to Myrcella too, even though it made zero sense), or the Tyrells, but likely both. That’s what Varys is counting on.

So... Sera being unpopular is sexist, but you admitted you don't like her either... so are you calling yourself a sexist then?
Alrighty I hope you’re sitting down because boy howdy do I have a rant for you!
Why I dislike Sera as a person, not a character
As a writer (like many on here) I have an interesting relationship when it comes to my feelings for a story, it’s characters, and my own morality. That means, I am perfectly capable of being incredibly approving of, fascinated by, or even adore a character who’s morality is very different from my own.
This is very true for Sera. As a character, Sera is a complex thought provoking creature.
As an elf, one would expect her to have an understanding of why racism against elves is such a terrible thing, but she doesn’t. Instead of caring about elves and the struggles they face, she ignores and dismisses them as simply being “too elfy”. Which is a throw back to the people in our world today who are the ones effected by racism, but deny that it exists for “points” with their oppressors/to avoid being oppressed/don’t want to admit how oppression affects them.
She of course brings to our attention racial stereotypes, (her conversation about how most elves can’t actually shoot a bow), but again doesn’t seem to realize that those stereotypes can be harmful to other elves. (Say, an elf who can’t shoot worth a damn is brought along and given a bow and told to fight. Despite their protests that they can’t shoot one, they are dismissed and as a result people get hurt and killed and the elf is blamed for not helping. Even though they made it clear that they could not shoot, the fact that the stereotype was so reinforced in everyone else’s mind, they ignored that fact and it would be their fault people were hurt. Not the fault of the elf who couldn’t shoot in the first place and tried to prevent this from happening.)
This applies to when talking about the Dalish. Sera constantly refuses to understand them or their ways, or why city elves try to follow the old customs. Writing them off as simply ‘old’ and therefore not worth her time to learn or apply to her own life. She simply refuses to see how human oppression of elves truly affects elves and firmly believes that the only problem is the nobility and pride.
Even when supplied with firm proof that the elves have every reason to be “elfy”- as shown with the scroll about Red Crossing and the temple of mythal- she is steadfast in her denial of elven culture.
This makes her fascinating. It makes her a commentary that we should look into and ponder over our own actions and thought processes regarding race and oppression. I love her as a character because we get to see this young girl, hurt by a parental figure be allowed to grow into a young woman who still feels the affects of that. We get to see this young woman who is not shamed for her past and allowed to make mistakes because of it.
As a person though? Sera is a willfully ignorant prideful little shit who doesn’t want to admit that things are more complex than what she wants to believe. Why? Because she doesn’t want to admit she was ever wrong. I can understand why she feels this way, having been raised by an abusive human, but I was also raised by abusive racist, sexist, ableist, homophobic assholes and I will always fight for the rights of the oppressed groups these things hurt. Because I know better about how my privileges and the parts of me people are trying to oppress. Sera never learns how to be a better person and understand her own race better.
This mindset is one in the world today that we are all watching destroy our freedoms. I dislike Sera as a person because she is the exact kind of close-minded person that allows racism and other oppression to roam free, and at times even contribute to it, that I try to fight against.
Why Sera is Horrible LGBTA+ Representation
As I said on the confessions, Sera should not be considered good representation of a lesbian relationship. Why? Because she’s childish and manipulative and close minded.
That really should be enough, but let me go into explicit detail.
On the childishness of Sera, let’s talk about her prank pulling. I will say this, her prank pulling and hatred of the extreme magical bullshit going on was refreshing. It was so nice to see a character who was just an every day person getting caught up in things far beyond the natural world. Even more nice to see a gut busting girl who didn’t care what others thought of her and was solely herself and enjoyed bringing stuffy folk down to a more human level. The problem with this however? It plays into her utter denial of the elven gods and culture and to things outside of the “norm”- such as Cole. It plays into her prank pulling actually being cruel at times because of her lack of awareness for the suffering of others.
When she spoke to Cole, she referred to him as a ‘thing’. She never considered the possibility that someone so different from herself deserves recognition as a person- and that’s a shitty fucking thing to do. Cole may not have started out human, but he tried so hard to be kind and to help others, she, as somebody who was not normal herself and had faced dehumanizing treatment, should have known better. After Cole had proven time and time again that he did not deserve the awful treatment, she never changed from that hateful dismissing stance about him. (not that I saw anyway)
(Note; I also realize that Vivienne and Blackwall were not the nicest to Cole either, but I could write a ten page book on why Vivienne is a boss anyway because, at least, she avoided Cole and had some fucking class. Blackwall I just despise in general and I will always hate that creep)
When she pulled her pranks, she never considered the potential harm they could do. For example, making Cullen’s desk wobble? Amusing, definitely, had Cullen been a normal man. But Cullen is a recovering drug addict and a survivor of some rather extreme trauma, it’s obvious he suffers from severe PTSD. I’m positive that any “controlling” behavior he had towards his own personal desk space did stem from a need to control his surroundings after the terrible events he suffered. Her making the desk wobble could potentially cause a minor break for Cullen if it was a bad day for him. But she doesn’t take that into consideration, she only blows off Cullen as “too uptight” without seeming to understand. Like, there’s plenty of pranks you can pull on somebody that won’t have a negative effect on them. And what about the water bucket on Josie? Granted meeting with nobles is boring and annoying, but the Inquisition NEEDED their support. The Inquisition needed important allies so that they wouldn’t be attacked or turned against. She could have turned away potential allies just because she wanted to humiliate Josie. And Josie didn’t even deserve that! Josie (and Cullen!) worked so hard to keep the Inquisition from going under so that they could save the world. I didn’t see Sera consider these consequences and that bothers me to no end. Pranks are fun, but there is a time and place for the, and a way to do them. Sera didn’t do any of that. (She also put lizards in Solas bedroll- what if one bit him and it was poisonous? Would she have cared?)
And! She doesn’t take her relationship with the Inquisitor seriously at all at first! She writes off the Inquisitor’s interest and says she only wants fun. Somebody who’s only looking for a fling and basically says they do not want to have a relationship with you is not somebody who is ready for a relationship. Especially since later she basically tells the Inquisitor that they do have a relationship and that the Inquisitor can either choose to keep Sera by saying her entire culture is a lie, or lose Sera. What a terrible thing to ask somebody to do.
If someone who was barely a christian demanded that I give up my gods just because they didn’t believe in them, I would tell them to take a fucking hike off a cliff. A god you don’t even really believe is not more important than the gods I have devoted myself to. What you want and you believe should not matter more than what I want and believe. If you cannot respect my beliefs, then I have no respect for you and you clearly do not love me enough if you cannot respect my love for them. And, if you ask me to give up my gods for you, then what else will you ask of me? What else will I have to lose to satisfy you? This is the logic I apply to any and all relationships.
Again, while this makes for an interesting story and dynamic between the inquisitor and Sera- what does love mean between the two of them. In my rather hefty experience in the dating world, it sets up a platform for abuse and manipulation.
So let’s review; Sera doesn’t consider the consequences of her actions in relation to the thoughts, feelings, and needs of those she says she loves. Is that somebody we really want representing lesbians? As a (genderfluid/demi) girl who wants a relationship with a woman, Sera is not someone I want people to look at and think ‘oh, so that’s what women who like women are like’.
Especially when compared to literally ANY of the other women available for a lesbian romance. Or are they simple not up for considering because they’re bi in many cases? Are bi women who love women somehow less important to you? Think on that before you consider Sera as a good representation of a gay relationship please and thank you.
Character Critique VS Sexism
And now onto the main point you are so backwardly trying to be clever about.
When it comes right down to it, you can dislike a female character without it being sexist. For example, I dislike Sera, as a person, because, again, I find her childish, arrogant, and borderline abusive.
The reason such characters like Sera are generally unpopular does have a lot to do with sexism I will not deny that. And it has to do with having so few genuinely interesting female characters, that many will take whatever they can get. But not enough of them will. Many are still stuck in how wonderful and amazing the male characters are, that many females characters fall to the wayside. Sera is no exception. Because she is not an attractive male that they can ship with another attractive male, Sera is simply not going to have as many supporters as say, Dorian (whom I have an entire rant on why he’s good gay representation, but also cliched). That means they are going to be more critical of her flaws and failings, without taking into account why she is such a good character because sexism in the offline reality is so critical of women in the first place.
Sweeping statements of Sera being annoying “like all women” or writing her off as only childish without understanding her own problems with accepting herself because of her foster mother’s abuse, is sexist. I am capable of feeling sorry for Sera and wanting the best for her, while also understanding that she is not the only representation of all lesbians. Not everyone is capable of doing that yet. People, especially men, brain washed women, and younger folk, simply do not have the tools at their disposal (nor want them) to understand that Sera is simply one kind of woman and should be thought about more deeply.
And that doesn’t take into account how Sera is not a dynamic character. She just barely changes throughout the story line. She (along with others, and I have some major words to share with Bioware about the lack of character growth in their stories) remains the same childish, mildly manipulative, arrogant, brain washed racist and does learn any lessons from her time with the Inquisition. Her character, and her story line, I chalk up to male writers just, being honestly not very good writing female characters in general. She could have been an amazing character, a really amazing person, but all in all I feel she just falls flat on the things that truly matter to me as a person.
I could go on, but I would be repeating myself on this particular section.
So, TLDR; Your reach is not clever. If you had bothered to actually read my post you would have seen that I brought up legitimate points of criticism of Sera’s character- such as her deep set racism born of self loathing and brain washing, her manipulative and childish behavior and her lack of change through the story line. I’m not impressed by your salty attempt to make me look bad because you don’t like what I had to say about Sera.

Conversation
Opening up
Clare: smiled. “I hope that means it teaches stuff other than how to get a girl to sleep with you. Like how to treat women like human beings not sex objects. Of course I don’t think you need to be taught to respect women or about consent...but lots of boys do. Even our old principal the Shep had to take sensitivity training.” She mock gasped at Kota’s confession. “Unacceptable! It’s a dark toned fantasy with magic, dragons, and violent dynastic struggles among the realm's noble families for the Iron Throne. And it’s loosely based off real medieval European history. What’s not to love? We’re watching the first episode tonight. Please just give it a chance. I won’t make you watch more episodes if you don’t like it for some strange reason.” Clare gave Kota her best puppy dog eyes look. “Yeah. Connor gets that weird tofu crap from his sort of sister, Emma Nelson. So you’ve already done a survey?” She laughed. “We’ll make do. I like teriyaki chicken stir fry, rice and noodles, soup. Cauliflower soup is my favorite.” Clare named a few different types of food she could eat in Japan. “This trip just keeps getting better.” She proclaimed after Kota approved of date nights. It would be very nice to go out together on a regular basis with no friends or family tagging along. They’d still be spending plenty of time with Emi, Alli, Connor, Eli, K.C, Yohio, and the new friends they were going to make. “I won’t break up with you by kissing someone else.” Clare promised, scrunching up her nose. “Sounds like a really mean way to end a relationship. Even K.C. told me he wanted to break up before he ran off to makeout with Jenna. I don’t want to break up and I like your kisses best.” She squeezed his arm affectionately. “Thank you. There might be things I don’t recognize at all like meat dishes. Don’t let me eat shark either!” Clare nodded. “My parents will be impressed by your academic accomplishments. Winning them over completely is hard but not impossible. They love Alli, Adam, and Connor. K.C not so much. Eli not at all. Jenna they felt sorry for. Before she had a baby. Dad’s easier to get along with. Unfortunately, Mom is secretly in charge.” Her parents fought all the time now but Dad never came out the winner. Clare looked back and forth between Kota and Melanie curiously as the singer brought up a footballer player from school and Kota mentioned being busy during free periods. “No one became nasty about it?” She’d never witnessed anything extreme but Clare was often caught up with her own extracurriculars at school. “Awesome!” Clare told them after looking at the screencap of Jimmy Fallon. “Oh come on. It is.” She scoffed. As she got out of the car at the mall, Clare looked past Kota, staring at the boy. Did he go to Degrassi? She didn’t recognize him. What had he done to make Kota hate him so much? The boy looked harmless and the mention of Owen caused her to stiffen. Why was Kota standing up for the school bully? She didn’t understand any of this. Clare started to walk away with Kota and Melanie. The girls stopped soon as Kota did and Clare edged away from her boyfriend. She gave Melanie a confused look and motioned for the singer to stand out of the way with her. They heard every word of the argument and Clare was embarrassed. She NEVER thought she’d be grateful to see Owen but after he separated Kota and the boy from school, Clare decided Kota might have a better reason to be friends with Owen than she had to dislike him. “Yes, where do you want to go Melanie?” After Melanie decided, Clare turned back to Kota. “I want an explanation. Who IS that kid? What is going on?” She hissed in a whisper
Kota: sighed at Clare's question. "Sadly there's no class for that." he stated honestly. "Clare, I"m sorry, but I can't watch the episode with you tonight, I have a lot of stuff to do before the trip." he apologized. "I didn't really do a survey, it's just that they asked." he shrugged. "In Japan everything is made different. Teriyaki there is made with Sake, the alcohol is cooked out, but you can still taste it. We can have ramen too.. they top them with either a hard boiled egg or soft boiled, you can ask to leave it off and the ham comes in a whole slice off a ham you buy in the store for holidays." he said a little excitedly and kissed her cheek when she mentioned the trip getting better. "I'd hope you wouldn't leave me by kissing someone else." he laughed jokingly, he knew she was being honest and kissed her chastely. "I like your kisses most too." he smiled and laughed when she mentioned not letting her eat shark. "I don't eat shark and I won't let you eat cat, dog, turtle, sting ray, octopus, raw horse meat, fish sperm, or kimchi either. Unless you like fermented vegetables." he promised. "But I do like squid, fish, and other things you won't." he said honestly. "I'm glad I stand a chance. I mean I have a job too does that count?" he asked curiously. He looked at Clare when she asked about Todd. "He goes to our school, his name is Todd. He works on the yearbook, he takes pictures at the dances and school festivals for now." he said honestly and saw Anya walking towards him as they neared the mall. "You said I can talk to you, right?" she asked curiously. "Yea, but can we talk later?" he questioned motioning to Clare and Mel. "Can I stay over?" she asked. "I'll text my mom. You'll probably have to share a room with my sister." he said and texted his mom only for her to hug him. "By the way, Todd is in the parking lot. I almost beat the shit out of him." he admitted. "And you'll get charged with assault." she said. "I'm going to school with a fucking rapist and I can't hit him a few times?" he asked a bit sarcastic. "You can't sleep in your own room, I can't get the images out of my head. Every time I see him I want to beat the fuck out of him and Simpson just wants to ignore it because the cops won't do shit." he fumed. "They searched his house." Anya shrugged. "I'm going to get the pictures one way or another, I promise you that." he huffed as Anya walked off and he looked at Clare. "Yea, we're going to school with a known rapist and since the cops ignored it so Simpson is too. How do I know Todd raped her? She was completely drunk and I went to check on her since she told me she wasn't feeling well and was going to lay down in her room, I walked in to see Todd on top of her taking pictures as he raped her. I threw him against the wall and went to hit him, but Drew pulled me off of him as Owen called the cops. We can't find the pictures and without them there's no proof." he explained.

The point is that they want us to talk about a whole bunch of other things and we're doing actions that are going to encounter this but we haven't done them they're putting this right in people's face and today they're sending out units good size ones to go after people. And it's very upsetting that we don't have all our systems in place and we must do it today then we must hire tons of soldiers and troops and we must launch our conscription program or be damned and this is what I say we launched that now today or people are going to have to say I'm sorry we lost these people's son or daughter because we didn't do conscription on this date because that's what I'm telling you you're going to be saying sorry to me Thor Freya and Olympus. These assholes would not put me through this unless we were encouraging and allowing it to it's ridiculous it's so nasty and stupid and I tell you outright what's going to happen I was sitting around a thousand years from now and people are going to complain what happened we lost my son I don't know I told them to use conscription you know what's.... It is not funny at all it's these people interfering and we're launching it now it's ridiculous we should have a program here and we're going to launch that too and he's been demanding it over and over and over and he's our leader and he's always correct. We're going ahead with this plan here and we're going to take care of these knuckleheads they need to be beat up every few minutes and they're not and sending people in for retribution for the interruptions

DHS Issues National Terrorism Advisory System (NTAS) Bulletin
02/07/2022
U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY
Office of Public Affairs
DHS Issues National Terrorism Advisory System (NTAS) Bulletin
WASHINGTON – Today, Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro N. Mayorkas issued a National Terrorism Advisory System (NTAS) Bulletin regarding the continued heightened threat environment across the United States. This is the fifth NTAS Bulletin issued by the Department of Homeland Security since January 2021 and it replaces the current Bulletin that was set to expire tomorrow.

“DHS remains committed to proactively sharing timely information and intelligence about the evolving threat environment with the American public,” said Secretary Alejandro N. Mayorkas. “We also remain committed to working with our partners across every level of government and in the private sector to prevent all forms of terrorism and targeted violence, and to support law enforcement efforts to keep our communities safe. This NTAS Bulletin outlines the key factors that have increased the volatility, unpredictability, and complexity of the current threat environment, and highlights resources for individuals and communities to stay safe.”

The United States remains in a heightened threat environment fueled by several factors, including an online environment filled with false or misleading narratives and conspiracy theories, and other forms of mis- dis- and mal-information (MDM) introduced and/or amplified by foreign and domestic threat actors. These threat actors seek to exacerbate societal friction to sow discord and undermine public trust in government institutions to encourage unrest, which could potentially inspire acts of violence. Mass casualty attacks and other acts of targeted violence conducted by lone offenders and small groups acting in furtherance of ideological beliefs and/or personal grievances pose an ongoing threat to the nation.

While the conditions underlying the heightened threat landscape have not significantly changed over the last year, the convergence of the following factors has increased the volatility, unpredictability, and complexity of the threat environment: (1) the proliferation of false or misleading narratives, which sow discord or undermine public trust in U.S. government institutions; (2) continued calls for violence directed at U.S. critical infrastructure; soft targets and mass gatherings; faith-based institutions, such as churches, synagogues, and mosques; institutions of higher education; racial and religious minorities; government facilities and personnel, including law enforcement and the military; the media; and perceived ideological opponents; and (3) calls by foreign terrorist organizations for attacks on the United States based on recent events.

DHS and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) continue to share timely and actionable information and intelligence with the broadest audience possible. This includes sharing information and intelligence with our partners across every level of government and in the private sector. Under the Biden-Harris Administration, DHS is prioritizing combating all forms of terrorism and targeted violence, including through its efforts to support the first-ever National Strategy for Countering Domestic Terrorism. Since January 2021, DHS has taken several steps in this regard, including:
established a new domestic terrorism branch within DHS’s Office of Intelligence and Analysis dedicated to producing sound, timely intelligence needed to counter domestic terrorism-related threats;
launched the Center for Prevention Programs and Partnerships (CP3) to provide communities with resources and tools to help prevent individuals from radicalizing to violence;
designated domestic violent extremism as a “National Priority Area” within DHS’s Homeland Security Grant Program for the first time, resulting in at least $77 million being spent on preventing, preparing for, protecting against, and responding to related threats nationwide;
provided $180 million in funding to support target hardening and other physical security enhancements to non-profit organizations at high risk of terrorist attack through DHS’s Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP);
increased efforts to identify and evaluate MDM, including false or misleading narratives and conspiracy theories spread on social media and other online platforms, that endorse violence; and,
enhanced collaboration with public and private sector partners – including U.S. critical infrastructure owners and operators – to better protect our cyber and physical infrastructure and increase the Nation’s cybersecurity through the Department’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA).
DHS also has renewed its commitment to ensure that all efforts to combat domestic violent extremism are conducted in ways consistent with privacy protections, civil rights and civil liberties, and all applicable laws.

This NTAS Bulletin will expire on June 7, 2022. This NTAS Bulletin provides the public with information about the threat landscape facing the United States, how to stay safe, and resources and tools to help prevent an individual’s radicalization to violence. The public should report any suspicious activity or threats of violence to local law enforcement, FBI Field Offices, or a local Fusion Center.  Read the current NTAS Bulletin here.
