Color schemes start when summer ends.

Hey yall, Hope your week was productive and you got stuff done! My week was slightly busy but so so on the job front, im barely even applying anymore all the jobs seem the same and I aint that qualified so I guess I been feeling a little blah. Before we hop into discussion and agendas I just want to say that summer is officially over! *insert sad face here* I had a great ending to a summer with a 11 miles hike and mountain climb and ending on the jersey shore.(Wasnt enough fist pumping to my liking though).

Any ways todays scheduled programming is going to be on Color schemes and how to create different variations. Yay ! How fun! (Kinda), it is interesting to say the least. You can make varying colors off one color and even make a monochromatic scheme to make things blend nicely with each other. SO I routinely follow other designers (Dan Romero has some great insights about UX ). So alot of my insight is based off of them. So step 1 we pick a color right! (Vibrant and saturated are best). The we make a duplicate and change the color mode to HSB we play with the saturation between 5-10 and mess with the brightness to 95-100. Then we create an accent!! Duplicate AGAIN and increase the HUE value by 30-40 points, and the brightness by 5-10 points -- From there we have our 3 color scheme. Wow, much progress. 

Next I will go over creating the monochromatic scheme. Sounds yummy in a weird way. I’m weird. Anyways lets get started. So you’re locked into a project but only have one color to use and you don’t want to add any other hue. Well you aren’t crazy (maybe)  but as long as you have the right values you can make awesome visual layouts. Start with a color but lets try to avoid red, pink, dark blue, teal, yellow and orange. Basically everything -- but there is some leeway. Lets make a tint using our base color as reference. Change to HSB again and decrease saturation value by 20 and increase brightness by 6.

Now its time for the shades. Using your base color let’s make a new dark shade by setting the brightness value to 30 and make a regular shade by decreasing the brightness by 16. VOILA ! Finished as am I with todays lecture thingy.

Hay Kings from Iowa and surrounding states we need your help. Here in Iowa our state has gone overboard, To haul oversize loads of hay ,straw and stalks you need to have a permit for state roads, one for county roads (each county) and now cities can get in on it and make you get one for city streets. This has made it a nightmare to move hay within Iowa . Currently we have a bill going through the Iowa State House HSB 525 that would make hay, straw and stalk exempt for all oversize load permits in Iowa . These permits are the first thing the DOT asked for when you get pulled over. It's time for a change. These permits have nothing to do with safety it's nothing more than a way to stick it to farmers and truckers who are doing nothing more than moving hay around in order to put food on people plates.
