He feels bad, you know? For being kinda... overbearing about things he later realizes you can probably, most definitely handle.

He gasps when he notices you trying to re-light the burner on your gas stove, or nudges you aside with his hip and a nervous frown when the frying oil looks too hot and has already popped... twice.

He gets nervous watching you decorate your apartment; pestering you about letting him do the work of hammer-and-nailing, even while he's got you steadied with firms hands on the chair—or your waist.

And he always tries to pull the mop out of your hands, or the windex from your determined grip, voice tight and raw when he asks, "baby, are you sure you wanna handle that? I know you got a headache last time.”

He's honestly kind of a baby like that, hopping around on his feet watching you... which is funny when you consider that he only becomes that way in trying to treat you like a baby. But what are boyfriends for if not looking out for their partners? Much less one who it supposed to be a hero at his day job.

So he feels bad, yeah... and tries to make up for it, too.

He always notices on the days when you struggle to brush your hair. Maybe you woke up wrong or maybe you're just tired... but he's happy to push you down between his thighs to do the work of detangling by himself. He may have large hands, but they're always so gentle: knuckles soft on the knots, brush slow on the carefully sectioned curls.

When he’s busy, he makes time for you. Sitting you on his lap in the office, he will type up reports to the soft sound of your phone keyboard clicking, the rhythmic pants of your breath on his neck. He can’t focus entirely on you, but he’ll do what he can in the form of a reminder: I want you here. You make things better. Stay.

And he cuddles you... spending a good, long half hour making the bed nice for you by fluffing up your pillows and tucking you in real tight. He lays next to you, his expression hesitant, apologetic... and rubs his fingers across your belly, or smooths down the wisps of hair on your forehead.

He whispers. "Sorry. Sorry for being so... such a pain. You must be so sick of me, huh?"

Yet you’ve never felt more cared for.

About my tags

ok so tumblr is purging nsf-w related tags, so i thought I'd update my tagging system so my nsf-w posts can still be avoided without being purged, and i thought id take this opportunity to explain my tagging system in case anyone needs it

my new nsf-w tags are:

smut: anything centered around nsf-w themes

trans magnus smut: ex.plicit stuff involving trans magnus, especially if it features gra.phic mentions of ge.nitals and whatnot

dirty words: dont laugh at me it's the best i could come up with okay. a post that isnt necessarily nsf-w centered, but that features ex.plicit words, for those who dont like them in any context

dirty mention: again I'm doing my best. a post that isn't nsf-w centered, but that features mentions of nsf-w themes, which are not ex.plicit

dirty image: p0rn images obviously arent allowed and ive never been one to reblog them anyway, but when an image depicts sen.sual acts ill be tagging it as dirty image

other relevant tags are:

salt: for any post where I'm complaining about anything, for those of u who dont want negative content. if it's negative, it's tagged as salt

cursed: posts that are purposefully disgusting and might make ppl uncomfortable. dont want to see me saying ayyy jace papi? filter out this one

anti (thing/chatacter): me hating on any particular thing if u want to filter out something specific. if it's a character, i always put their full name

anti (thing/character) fandom: when im complaining about a fandom, not a thing. like i complain about the sh fandom sometimes, but it's not anti sh because obviously, i like sh. DISCLAIMER: im not saying everyone in a specific fandom is this or that, okay, only that it has a tendency to. again, i'm in the sh fandom, so are many ppl that i love. its a generalization to keep it short

discourse: for discourse of all sorts

societal issues: anything related to social speakings of any kind

(thing) tw: kinda doesnt need explaining but i put all my tws in that order. i tag the more obvious ones like gore and pr*gnancy but if u need me to tag something specific, lemme know and ill add to the tags

long post: a post that's too long and it's gonna be a bitch to scroll past, so i can save yall time

clown shit: posts that are just me and my friends being clowns in public and probably wont matter to other ppl lol

HOW TO FILTER OUT: i only use Tumblr on mobile so idk about PC, but go to ur blog > settings > general settings > filter and add whatever you want to filter out. done! you are free of whatever you don't want to see

    If you could please do me a favor: if you have anything that you need or want tagged (I’m going to say above and beyond the ‘usual’ in terms of like violence, gore, blood, incest, drug use, that type of thing) please either send me an ASK or reply here so that I can make a list / keep track of what I need to tag.  This can include romantic ships, specific imagery or descriptions, visual or text.  I cannot promise to ALWAYS remember but I will do my best and having a list of them gathered in one place will be very helpful for me.

Things I will not tag: self promos.  They are some players only way of finding new blogs and partners.  I don’t tag them unless it’s me spamming my self promos because I hate the idea of someone using that tag to block promos people work hard on honestly.  

However, I do try to tag the url of the advertised blog in case you have them blacklisted for some reason, just to double up on them not showing up on your dash.
