- i feel like he would read together with you. we all know he loves his non-fiction books, and i’m sure he wouldn’t mind showing a few to his lover. he adores it when he sits on the bed, his back against the headboard while you sit between his legs, all cozy and covered by the warmth of his blankets as he holds the book for you two to read. (though, dont be surprised if you get a smack on the head for being a slow reader)

- he likes observing you. actually, he loves it. every move you make is so graceful to him. your facial features are so beautiful to him, and trust me when i say every single one. he can’t help but gawk. when you’re busy doing something infront of him, he’ll stare at you, no words coming from him. but after a while, a silent ‘you’re pretty’ will slip out of his lips.

- when he gets you flowers, he always fusses over which ones to get. he starts looking up all the different symbolisms, and god forbid even one petal looks off. he can’t allow it, the bouquet needs to look its absolute best. (don’t let the faint blush on his cheeks go unnoticed when he hands you the flowers. its so endearing.)

- secretly adores it whenever you patch him up. there’s something so sweet about watching you take care of him, and even though he insists on doing everything himself, he’ll rather have you do it. however, he will never admit that. but the way you whisper a meek ‘sorry’ to him whenever he hisses as you clean his wound, and the way you make sure to be extra careful when wrapping his arm up with a bandage, it always gets him weak in the knees.

- his lack of words might seem like he’s not listening to you at times, though i can promise you, it’s quite the opposite. megumi is a quiet, yet attentive person. whenever you speak and talk to him about anything, he’ll make sure to remember small details you think he might forget about. hell, not even you remember most of the stuff you told him about.

- considering the previous headcanon, i also believe his gifts for you tend to be thoughtful. on your birthday, he’ll get you things that you randomly mentioned to him at some point. remember when you told him about that one keychain you saw in shop which you thought was simply the cutest thing ever? maybe not, but he did. and guess what? its on your desk, wrapped up with a little bow and a note next to it.

- he’s gentle when he needs to be. if you’re having a bad day, he makes sure his touch is as tender as it possibly can be. a hand on your cheek, his thumb stroking your skin as he looks into your eyes. he makes sure that his voice is extra soft, sweet little nothings being whispered to you. and he’s whispering because these words are only yours to hear, in the same way he’s also only yours to have.

- its subtle, but he hugs you tighter after missing you. his grip on you tightens just a little, and he squeezes you as if hes afraid you’ll slip out of his grasp forever once he lets you go.

- loves it when you show him all the stuff you bought while you were out shopping. its cute, really. him sitting there as you unpack your bag, proudly presenting him the new stuff you got yourself. for each item, you’ll get a small ‘pretty’ or ‘nice’ along with a nod from him, before you reach into your bag while grabbing the next. he adores the slight shimmer of excitement in your eyes as you show him the things. seeing you happy makes him feel at peace.

- not a fan of PDA, but will not let go of you in crowded places. his hand will either be on your shoulder, or his fingers will be laced with yours. he needs that extra sense of security that you’re still next to him.

- loves sleeping with you, you can consider yourself as his favourite plushie at this point. falling asleep is way easier for him when he has your warmth and scent next to him. you’re his source of contentment.

- the type to be embarrassed when you look at his childhood pictures. he’s cursing gojo under his breath for showing these to you, because now you can’t quit squealing over that one picture of little megumi standing next to his divine dog, telling him over and over how cute he was as a child. with a faint blush coating his cheeks, he’ll mutter ‘stop it’, but he knows very well his attempt to get you to stop will be futile.

- his kisses to you mostly go to your forehead. it fills you with both warmth and comfort, and he’s very much aware of that. the first time he did it, he was nervous, despite it not being visible on his facial expression. you could feel his hands faintly tremble as they held onto your shoulders. though now, it became frequent. he kisses your forehead to greet you, to say goodbye to you, to appreciate you, to calm you down, sometimes he does it for no reason at all.

- to be honest, megumi generally never expected to fall in love. he didn’t see himself as the type of person to ever rely on somebody, he knew his strength and he knew it well. but physical strength is far different from emotional strength, and to this day, it still slightly confuses him. he can’t fathom how one person is able to make him feel so fulfilled, but hey; he’s happy, you’re happy, that’s all that truly matters to him.

Quaritch relished in moments like these where he finally gets to spend time with you. Needless to say, since getting his avatar body, he never felt better, faster, and even playful. But god forbid the lessons he had to go through in getting used to this. But yada yada, all this, all that- it finally paid off as he now gets to spend more time with you.

However this one particular morning, he was enjoying having you huddled on top of him, one of his arm wrapped around you so you don't fall.

It was like that when suddenly he was staring at you, seconds after you've just given him a decent uppercut with your head as you looked at him with wide eyes, as if you saw a ghost. It looked like you've just got shaken up by one hell of a nightmare.

"The hell was that for?" He grumbles in his old grumpy manner with a 'What the fuck?' look at you, his usual scowl returning.

But this discovery had your mouth wide and a mischevious glint in your eyes as you gestured all over in excitement.

"What? You forgot to speak?" He snarkily replied.

Quaritch watched as you lay your head on his chest a few times, making sure you weren't hearing things.

Then he hears your laugh, he was starting to get annoyed at this point, with his chin slightly aching and with you looking like a crazed scientist.

"I can't believe- oh this is great." You finally speak, looking up at him with one of your smiles that had Miles' features softening.

"What's so great? Me?" He chuckles. Although nothing could prepare him for what you said.

"I didn’t know you guys could purr!"

Pause.

Miles' expression drops, blinking. "Huh?"

"You're purring!! I can't - oh this is amazing." You laugh, leaning your head against his chest to hear the low rumble emitting from it, giving you a warm and comfy feeling.

Miles' huge hand raises to carefully pry you off his chest and not to accidentally flung you across the room.

"Come again?" He asked.

"You don't know? I mean can't you feel it? Or is it like a - what do you call that again-" You look up in thought as he simply stared at you with a puzzled expression. You give up on trying to search for the word, turning your attention back on the avatar in front of you, whose tail was flicking in curiosity behind him, ears flicking.

"Okay, do you... Feel anything?" You ask.

Miles simply shakes his head no. You roll your eyes. "Come on, cooperate with me Miles." The way his name rolls off your tongue had him complying.

He takes a moment to feel what he was feeling. He felt happy, content even— but he wouldn't admit that. Still, he then registers the low rumbling coming from deep in his chest. It was roaring- like an engine if you will.

His brows furrowed, is that what it was?

He thought you wouldn't be able to hear that... Has he been doing that for a while? That's weird, he only notices it when he's with you but he rarely pays attention to it. So that's what got you acting like a crazed scientist.

Miles looks at you, and he swore the roaring in his chest got louder. He didn’t even knew the makers programmed them to be able to do that.

"So you are just a big cat after all." You teased as you watched his face contort into realization.

"No I ain't, pumpkin." He was not going to accept this.

"Just accept it Miles," smirking playfully at him. "I wonder... If the other recoms know that their commander's just a big huggable cat that purrs." You teased.

"Stop it." He glares at you.

"Would you look at that I'm on my way down to inform the others."

I got caught shoplifting a few weeks ago so Im gonna have a court proceeding (? if thats what you call it in english idk) in a couple hours and Im a little bit nervous but the shit I stole was only worth 7€ and it was my first time getting caught so I dont think it'll be too big of a deal. - this could already be canon but i think he rolls his r's all the god damn time

- He's actually very extremely good at cooking.. its as much of an art to him as music is and brings him great joy

- and part of the reason he's a good cook is that he grew up in & worked at a tavern! (he also was a bard there ofc) i wanna talk about it more sometime

- he had pretty humble origins contrary to popular belief.. he mingled with high-class society later in life and became rather famous, but he isn't as snobby as you'd think. maybe egocentric but never mean for no reason

- he was Zelda's music teacher! given he's well over a decade older than her, he taught her since she was a small child.. and you know what zelda called him her friend. and this is why he's pretty much welcome in the castle any time (and probly why he could so easily snatch the triforce). when it comes to teaching music he completely loses any bad attitude and is extremely nice and patient because he's enthusiastic about his student Getting It Right.. i think he'd just love being a teacher

- honestly i think in general he is very nice and patient to children. he's happy to show them how to play an instrument or will humor them with a magic trick.. he is not even a dad but he just has paternal instincts

- OH YES he's a magician-- not just like a sorcerer, but like a sleight-of-hand type magician.. he will show you fancy card tricks against your will

- maybe you thought i was joking when i depicted him as a vampire but i was not

- Since i pretend Vaati was the first "vampire" in LoZ universe, that extends to Octavo since they're implied to be related somehow (i believe he's straightup the reincarnation of vaati but ill get into that later). hes Not like a traditional vampire you know, he can still walk in the sun and doesnt need to eat blood, but i imagine LoZ vampires would entail something different.. as a vampire enthusiast i could go on about this forever, so if you want me to ramble more feel free to send another ask about it LOL

- but since vampirism was like, my earliest headcanon for Octavo, i had a funny little theory that the reason he even has a sleep spell was so he could cast it on people he didn't like so he could bite them. i imagine he would bite his critics since he's petty as hell (and also he bites on the arm instead of the neck because he is very chaste about it). i dont know if this is still a headcanon i'll keep for him but either way it makes me laugh

- one more thing about the vampirism.. remember how he uses fire magic in his fight? i think he studied pyromancy on purpose to raise his body temperature/keep himself warm bc he's naturally a bit cold blooded (going along with that he probably enjoys the heat of summer and spring while enjoying the aesthetics of fall and winter)

- octavo does have a cat and her name is Minuet or "Mina," as the necrodancer you better believe he will make his cat immortal as well as every other cat he finds, there are just a shit ton of them in the courtyard,

- i think he is autistic and/or adhd..music special interest given he is surrounding his life around it jjjzxc

- i think he’s bisexual since he’s purple

Conflict post that got too long and title doesn’t match the rest because I didn’t plan to write so much

Please be honest: Do you think Conflict is an angsty fanfiction?

Despite the amount of sadness, suicidal tendencies, ptsd, panic attacks and even implied incest; I can’t bring to think that Conflict is angst. It’s just the story of two flawed boys falling in love in their most vulnerable moments and learning how to know themselves as they get to know each other.

It might be because I know the whole story, though, unlike the readers who know the first arc only. I mean... it’s perfectly fine however you interprwt their story. It’s not like I’m mad. I’m just surprised when I see things like “this is so sad!” I mean, yes, Ray is not going through best time of his life, but I think it is honorable. It’s honorable that he is trying his best, despite the depression blowing his mind. It’s honorable that Norman is trying to be a little honest with himself despite the chaos he is living in. It’s honorable that Emma sticks with Ray through thick and thin. It’s just characters trying their best, I don’t think it should be needlessly tagged as “angst” because I don’t think I write them that way for the sole reason of sadness. Rather, there is something I want to tell— something I want all of my readers to see.

But I can’t blame anyone since I haven’t written 3/4 of the fanfic yet. I haven’t shown you even a bit of the path I’ve already decided and mentally written for Conflict. I actually wanted to write Conflict tonight, but due to personal reasons I’m not feeling my best and despite my efforts to write Shotgun, I couldn’t write shit, and it won’t be good for my mental health to be in fiction today. Today I need my science and my facts (I say today but it’s 2.40 am and maybe I should sleep).

So, basically, I want to just SHOW by writing instead of giving leaks and stuff, but...

But...

You have no idea how much braining it takes to write Conflict.

Sure, I’m not a professional writer and there may be many better, smarter stories out there, but to me, personally, I put my best into Conflict. I give it all I have. I give it all my experience and everything I’ve learned until age of 21. It is a very condensed, artistic way of me talking about my life and experiences and observations throughout a fictional universe where it is not directly my life, but a world I try to represent in balance. So— to me, ever since I started writing first chapter I treated Conflict like my first book, I mean, sure it is a fanfiction but I thought “I’d give it a try as a hobby and if it goes well— if i can stick to it determined and if I get nice feedback and if people like it, this will give me strength to write a real book!” and BOY I got SOOO MUCH MORE THAN I’D EVER EXPECT, I even got FANARTS and people messaging me or commenting how much they personally relate or how much the fic helped them to go through bad days or how much they’ve seen themselves in Ray or Norman’s situations, and when I read those messages I can’t help but think all of you deserve to see the way Conflict builds up. You deserve to see how many times Ray and Norman are challenged, by themselves, by each other, and by society, and you deserve to see how they respond to them, and you deserve to see how much and how little of a difference it can make to have two people really love each other. Anyway, I went off topic, I was saying that, to me Conflict is a story I’m giving all I have got as the person I am today.

Other fanfictions of mine are moreee easy to write because they don’t have sovmuch in depth characters or complex plots and they are just that, fanfictions, in which I write a ship. But Conflict, man, I treat it like my real novel— which is technically one to me, though a non-profit one dedicated to the manga that really challenged me, and I have no regrets writing it or making it a fanfic. Anyway! Thing is, given the fact that Conflict is heavy, content and chapter length wise, I can’t always get to write it. I could, if this was summer, but this is collehe time and even though I really want to get going, sometimes I need to save Conflict for another time when I’m more available. Me publishing easy to write things like Shotgun doesn’t mean I’m available for conflict. The mental energy they take is A LOT different.

But it’s not in a bad-different way! I love both my fics! I have no regret over time and dedication I have for Conflict! I just, don’t have the time for it all the time, which can’t be helped.

It’s 2.49 am now. I really want to write conflict. First draft of chapter 16 was written two months ago. The scene is completed as a draft. But that scene includes a terrible pstd & panic attack about Ray and I just... /sighs/ don’t really wanna get in mood for something so gloomy? I wanna write more cute stuff like their awkward date on Shotgun... but I really want to keep Conflict going. I guess I’m terrified that given how fragile my mental health is right now, the content of Conflict might make it worse. I’d still proud to have finished a chapter. But thinking about writing about Leslie’s loss and its effects on Ray makes me shiver, because that’s a topic I’m sensitive of and although I almost never get affected emotionally from the ficsbI write (for example, I dont cry writing sad smiles neither do I smile a lot at soft scenes, I’m usually neutral and I simply enjoy act of writing itself) but the 1% chance that Conflict’s content might fuck with my mental health.. as if one last trigger before a breakdown, makes me want to stay a few steps back from Conflict and just breathe.

But I also somehow feel like I’m really available to write Conflict. I don’t know. Why do I care so much about Conflict, you may ask, since it’s just a fanfiction.

I think that’s because Conflict is the first real thing I’ve done (along with many other achievements that exactly started on the same day, July 1) after I got out of depression. It proves me that I can create something— get it visualized— and having people respond to it makes me feel connected to world. Remember the scene I wrote about Ray’s detachment to Emma’s calls? I’ve never gotten physically unresponsive like that, but there were times depression made me detached and to me that’s the scariest part... feeling detached. I feel as if I don’t post a fic for too long (assuming I’m in mood to write), or if I don’t go out/go to school/go to gym for too long, if I don’t meet up my friends or reply back to my texts for too long, I may get detached. If I get detached, I’ll think of dark, terrible stuff. If I don’t return world easily, it may easily slide into a depressed day. Or two days. Before I get back. And those one or two days are scariest because I’ve lived a YEAR worth of them, continiously, and god forbid me or anyone experiencing that. It was terroble.

So when I don’t write even when I want to, I feel as if I might get depressed. Not emotionally. But rationally— be being unable to do things I want to do EVEN WHEN I HAVE TIME AND SOURCES AVAILABLE FOR THEM would build depression up. I sm not saying right sway. Anyway. That’s why I care about Conflict. That’s why I’m staying dedicated. Dedication prevents detachment. When I’m not detached, and thankfully having readers interacting to me, I feel— or prove— that my work is reaching someone. I exist. My ideas mean something. Even if it’s just fan base, ie friends— I consider y’all friends— I mean, we are still kids, right? Most of us are 16-25 and that ain’t even real adult to me, we are just friends befriending each ofher oe so I believe, so like, even if its just with friends it means a thing. It prevents detachment. When I’m not detached I’m motivated. When I’m motivated I want to live. When I want to live I go out and do things. When I go out and do things I get motivated again. When I’m motivated again I write again. When I write I’m not detached. The cycle continues, see? Of coursw, writing is just ONE way to prevent detachment. It itself can’t carry all burden. Same goes for me regularly going to classes, going to gym, meeting up or calling my friends, etc. I’ve learnt that the more places you put a bit of yourself in, less likely you are from detachment. And that’s good. Idk, that’s why comments are important to me. It’s too personal at this point but they really, really, really help me to stay in connect.

So I want to write, so I can be happy, and I can interact, and look at my published chapter, so I can be further motivated to do things tomorrow... but it’s now 3 am and, I, if I start now I won’t be done earlier than 4.30 am and it’ll be cold and I’ll be brain dead, so for my sake, it’s better if I sleep. Msybe studying a bit before sleep will prevent detachment as well. I usually don’t EVER get detached, I’m quite successful at holding myselfnon line, but that’s bc I am careful about triggers. So... not starting conflict will be the best decision.

I don’t know how much time I’ll have in sunday but I hope it will be enough for a chapter update.

If you’ve read so far, thank you, this post went out of hand— but I can comfortably talk about it now because I’m over it, and I’m trying to rationalize the fact that me consistently updating really makes me happy and excited and having fun instead of feeling detached and it’s important and I just love my story and I hope you all feel content and satisfied when you read Conflict’s final.

Okay, I'm looking to get a cockatiel. I've been looking into them for WEEKS now, but I still feel unprepared, and I really want to get some actual first-hand knowledge from a person. I'm really not sure what to ask specifically! ^^; Any tips you'd give me, this being my second bird--after a budgie--and my first cockatiel? THIS IS GONNA BE LONG

OKAY, HERE IS THE INFO I CAN GIVE YA FOR A COCKATIEL:

1) ALWAYS ADOPT. i know you see that cute birbo in the pet store window, but please, PLEASE, refrain from purchasing him.  there are currently THOUSANDS of homeless birds in north america alone that need you to be their guardian. i know you want to save that baby from the pet store, but doing so continues the cycle.  they’ll just replace him and the horror continues.

2) GET THE BIGGEST CAGE YOU CAN AFFORD! do not listen to what the pet store clerk says (lol i worked in a pet store and straight up i would discourage people from birds EVERYDAY and tell them to rescue and that none of our cages are big enough, and they listened and adopted and im surprised the boss didn’t find out and fire me HAHAHHA) i would go to a bird specialty store to find your cage - you want to make sure it is durable enough, the bar spacing is correct (for a cockatiel you want them no more than half an inch space, theyre little and you dont want them to get stuck!!) i suggest powder coated cages, they’re easiest to clean the poop out of!!!!

3) GOOD DIET IS SO IMPORTANT. STAY AWAY FROM SEED!!!! seed despite popular belief is not very good for them.  it causes fatty liver disease and can make them ill and shorten their lifespan. (rose is now put on milk thistle-it buffersthe liver, as from the shit sanctuary she was from… god knows what she ate so now im in the process of getting her liver spiffy clean!) a good PELLET DIET is SO, SO SO SO IMPORTANT. and dont be discouraged, it is very hard to change a birb from seed diet to pellet.  so you have to change it over gradually and honestly, it can take a year to get that done.  rose is picky as hell, but i found a pellet she likes which are the Zupreem fruit pellets.  they’re not the healthiest, but they’ll do as now she is eating by herself.  i used to have to hand feed her ALL THE TIME like the diva she is.

 Here is a list of good pellets!! (from best to ok)

- Goldenfeast Goldenobles (quinoa based instead of corn, i wanna change rose to this when she’s ready!!)

- Harrisons Fine High Potency (start with high potency and then go to adult formula - gives em the nutrients they need for switching. corn based, and not my fav but it is vet reccommended but id say goldenfeast is better as corn aint that great)

- Pretty Bird (fruity and like, kinda okay? its better than zupreem lmfao but its very sweet, and makes their poo colourful)

- Zupreem (available at most pet stores, comes in fruit, veggie, nut, and natural flavours. what Rose eats and its a pretty good food. i believe its corn and soy based, not the best, and there is sugar in it, but its a good starter for your bird as they will most likely eat it because its colourful and sweet!!! from having Rose on a pellet diet - her plumage looks AMAZING)

all those brands come in different size pellets, i would go with the SMALLEST as it is easier for them to eat, and if you mix it with seed it kinda blends in hehe

4) DON’T JUST FEED PELLETS. A birbos diet should be 80% pellets (give or take) and 20% fruits, veggies, grains, and good stuff!!!! making a chop is a good idea, and you can freeze it and take out some everyday for their breakfast/dinner!!! Rose is very picky, and a rescue may be too, but do some research on what good fresh foods are good for birds!!! rose’s fav are zuchinni, peppers, pasta, scrambled egg (shes obsessed with egg) and chinese snow pear!!!

5) LOTS OF TOYS, AND THINGS TO DO!!! PIMP out their cage with dope toys, various perches and material (AVOID SAND ONES, HURTS THEIR TOES. get natural wood, rope (if u know they wont shred and accidentally eat it) and various thicknesses!!!) and im not saying spend a fortune (whcih i have with rose omfg) undyed popsicle sticks are amazing, paper, toilet paper rolls, cardboard etc they LOVE. but also, a good store bought toy is nice too!!! but most you can make from home!! plus i have a store where i have handmade toys, ill be posting more selection too!!

6) BE PATIENT WITH THE BABY! they most likely won’t warm up to you RIGHT AWAY (i mean they might, depends on their personality!) so do not feel discouraged if they dont want to play or cuddle right away. and heck, they may not even like cuddles. they’re as much as individuals as we are as humans. rose is usually attached to my shoulder all day, but some days honestly she just plays by herself and doesn’t want me to play with her HAHAHA. when you bring them home, introduce them to their cage and let them hang inside and get used to it.  sit near them and chat and offer some millet and let them come to you.  its a whole new world for them, so allow them some time!!!

7) and the most controversial topic… TO CLIP OR NOT TO CLIP? okay, my two cents on clipping goes as written.  if it is safer for them in your house, please get their wings properly by an avian vet or an experienced staff memeber at a bird specialty store. clipping them incorrectly can cause balance issues and confidence issues and trust issues. NEVER CLIP THEM YOURSELF AS THEIR OWNER. THEYLL BE PISSED AF. and most likely scared of you. if your house is unsafe -ie people coming in and out, small space, lots of windows, forgetful people that leave windows open, PLEASE CLIP THEM. it will save their life and prevent any deadly accidents.

if you HAVE THE SPACE. and know that they will be safe, and you believe they will be okay, leave them flighted!! it is much easier i must say having smaller birds flighted as they won’t be as cramped in a house as a big bird would be.  Rose is flightless as she chews her flight feathers, but they are growing back.  and even if they all did, my place is way to small to allow her to fly properly so i would keep her clipped for her safety.  also, if there was an emergency - such as a fire - it is much easier to evacuate a flightless bird than a flighted one.  i have really bad ocd when it comes to impulsive thinking and i obsess over how i would get rose out in a fire all the time… so keep a pillow case by the cage, and if god forbid that happened, grab your baby, toss em in the pillow case (protects them from smoke inhalation) AND HIGH TALE THEE FUCK OUT OF THERE. and that would be easier if they are clipped… just food for thought.
