When you said the name was Ate(I think?) I immediately thought the Tagalog/Filipino word for older sister ngl
I don’t even speak that much Tagalog but that’s one of the main words I do know so it just shoved itself into my brain :,)
That's extremely interesting! I know NOTHING about Tagalog so thank you for sharing!
Ate's name is actually inspired from the greek goddess named.. well Ate. There were some things I enjoyed and wanted to make connections with.
The setting of the place Ate lives in is vaaguely greek inspired. Royal places and outfits after ancient greek stuff and common folk more after trad wear.

yes, someone has to leave first. this is a very old story. there is no other version of this story.
but also, a person who is so passionate about the things they care about that they burn for them completely falls in love with another person who has felt very alone for a long, long time, and loves them so deeply that it saves them both.

im starting to get into tarot cards and even bought my own deck. ive been using it every day and its weird that its pretty accurate with what ive been going through. though i know that tarot cards are vague and supposed to be relatable because of their vagueness. but still. weird how i keep getting cards that pertain to my life right now

I honestly and truly believe all good AUs should be a little “”””ooc”””” in the sense that good characterisation involves understanding that changes a characters backstory and circumstances will have an effect on how they respond to the world around them
Good characterisation isn’t about creating a perfect 1:1 canon replica it’s about understanding why a character is different in your work and about grounding the changes you do deliberately choose to make in canon character traits

on one hand I get why people talk about the vanity of the instagram age, but on the other one time St. Ignatius of Loyola got his leg shattered in battle and discovered upon recovery that he could no longer wear his favorite tight leather boots due to the way his leg had set and so decided to rebreak his leg without anesthesia because he was that determined to wear his fashionable boots again...what i'm trying to say is that this man might have existed before instagram, but at heart he was an influencer
