Fic Recs :)

I’ve been reading some insanely good fics lately and they all deserve so much attention. So much. 

I’m gonna make a few posts, each with recs for different fandoms and this is the first one. It’s gonna be recs for  Batman/DC fics, mainly Dick Grayson or Jason Todd centric because I love them

1. i’m falling (and there’s no net below) by nighttmr 

It’s an ongoing fic, at 14 chapters as of writing this and it’s brilliant. It’s a Court of Owls/ Spyral fic where Dick was kidnapped by the Court after returning from Spyral. It has an amazing relationship between Dick and Damian and it explores Bruce’s treatment of Dick and how that affected him, and how the Batfam will deal with it going forward. 10/10, I adore it

2. steady, steady, steady this heart of mine by noharlembeat

A Reverse Robins fic, where Damian suddenly finds himself with Dad feels when Bruce takes Dick in. There are some absolutely heartbreaking descriptions of Dick’s grief and Damian’s musings about his brothers, how ‘his father loved him but he didn’t particularly like Damian’ and how ‘Jason was always meant to be Bruce’s child in a way he wasn’t.’ It’s absolutely breathtaking and I love it to pieces.

3. Night at the (National History) Museum by @collectivefandomstuff

One of the funniest fics I have ever read! The Bat brothers have been roped into attending a gala and they come up with an increasingly elaborate plan to disrupt the gala and win their freedom. A hilarious take on high society dealings and a brilliant escape route are involved 

And last but most definitely not least, my favourite fic on the list

4. A Collision Of Masks by Movaz

In a world where Batman never joined the Justice League, the Young Justice team are sent to investigate the newest vigilante of Bludhaven, Nightwing, with the help of charismatic BPD detective, Dick Grayson

It’s a brilliant fic and it updates every Monday, though we’re getting a bonus chapter today which I’m super excited for! 

There’s an amazing sibling relationship between the Bat brothers and an interesting take on Artemis’ Gotham upbringing and how it affects her hero career. The miscommunication between the Team and Nightwing is at turns heartbreaking and hilarious and I love it so much. 

Bruce is not a very good parent in this and it does include physical/emotional abuse on his part towards his children so watch out for that.
