#i feel so lonely now bc i have no one to talk to sksksk #my sisters gets mad whenever i try to talk 2 mom and she just slammed doors nd got irritated at me #nd my mom is so stressed nd in a bad mood so she just got annoyed when i tried saying smth to her #so ig i should just vent to my bestfriend beloved diary confidant thats been here for me for 5yrs<3333 #anywayyy today was rough.. i woke up w a headache after 3hrs of sleep :(( #but still had to get up nd get ready nd eat boxed mashed potatoes for breakkyy 🤢🤮 (it's so gross after eating it everyday lol) #then w my hunchback nd achy stomach i went to school. it was frustrating bc ppl r so fkn rude #they bumped into me at the bus nd i had to sit like a weirdo caging my left stomach side from everyone. had to elbow some dumb fkn guy bc he #pressed his backpack into my side. so i had to basically push it away from me lol he thought i was so weird. but move tf away asshole?????? #got to school nd checked myself in the mirror nd i was so pale i look like absolute garbage its annoying :(( #it was next to insufferable to endure class bc my head hurt so bad (it was the worst part i think) nd i couldnt sit up straight so my back #hurt so bad too sksksks :< #but i managed to write a little but on my assignment #then i left a bit earlier bc i couldnt stand it anymore i was feeling so bad #wrnt to the library bc i had to return some books. could only carry two small ones tho so have to go back multiple times sksksk #felt soooo bad but ate some more disgusting mashed potatoes nd took a nap w an ice pack. took a migraine pill even if it upsets my stomach🤣 #now a few hours later i feel better physically #buuuuuut im so miserable im not even kidding #idc if it sound pathetic or fatty but genuinely that moment w a cup of coffee nd a small chocolate treat everyday makes me feel sm better #like im not kidding!!!!! it does a lot for my peace of mind sksksk T-T #im so miserable bc i cant eat anything still im so hungry :(( #and im weak. im pale. my skin's dry. it's itchy bc of malnutrition... i feel faint nd dizzy nd slow nd just not good at all #im so frustrated i hate this sm i wanna feel strong and healthy!! i dont wanna be constantly hungry. i wanna go to the gym nd go for walks #i wanna be able to sit up straight nd not get back pain!!! #i know i know it's only been 8 days since surgery and it takes time to heal i get it..... :( #but theres just too much going on and im so sick and tired of it all #mostly i just wanna be able to eat and feel strong bc i feel so weak nd i miss food so much sksksksk

a long shot i know, but if anybody happens to have a copy of the wall of storms (book 2 in the dandelion dynasty by ken liu) and is willing to send me a pic of two of the pages in chapter 7, please let me know!! the copy i got out from the library has a torn page, and though i can pretty much guess what's missing, it would be cool to put a note in there for the next person <3

One of the three independently-published books I recommended to my library has been approved, but for reasons best known to the collection management department, they will neither place it automatically on hold for me nor notify me when the book is added to the library catalog. I checked today and it has been added to the catalog - and already has a hold on it. The absolute gall of this other library patron.

#I am teasing - the patron has no way of knowing that someone requested it - but it doesn't seem fair to get it second after everything #On the flip side maybe that will teach them to listen to my recommendations ha! #I doubt it but I suppose it's good for there to be an immediate interest in the book #Valia vs. the library Collection Management Manager #They also don't even send you a notice when they make a decision about a request so you have to check back in manually until #a verdict has been returned

I have missed the vast majority of the "cozy horror" discourse and like, I'm fine with that because I don't really care all that much about publishing labels and subgenres. But like, I do believe in only using the broad labels if it applies. A book is not Romance (the genre) if it does not have a happily ever after/happily for now. A book is not Horror if it is not trying to be horrifying. Romantic and horrific plots and elements can be part of any story and any genre, but elements do not a genre make.

Anyways, disclaimer done, the point of this post is that as someone whose main genre is fantasy, I love reading about ghosts in non-horror stories. Give me more fucked up creatures and musings on personhood please.

oh kaku is absolutely joining galley-la. they try to make him stay after enies lobby and he's like "no let's go be proper government traitors and give everything we know to the revs and then i'll consider it" this argument ends with the other six deciding that they'll do that and then promptly dump kaku on the next ship to water 7 regardless of whether or not he agrees. if necessary, they are not above tying him up to get him there. if that doesn't work, they could always ask kuma.

(kaku absolutely wants to go back but he also, y'know, doesn't want to just ditch the rest of them. meanwhile, the rest of them are like "oh my god please just ditch us and go. live ur childhood dream. pls. at least one of us gets to.")

honestly, the first one to realize the in-laws is probably one of cp9. or nami. actually no wait it's probably nami. she catches onto the whole franky/robin thing quick and then just kind of has a moment where she just mentally points between them and starts laughing her ass off because oh god. it's funny on so many levels, at least partially because the former government assassin is going to be in-laws with the head of water seven's big gang.

having a bit of a shit day. going to read dnd books abt it.

#my reserved book (adulthood rites) is here and the trilogy anthology of the first Drizzt books are on their way as well #someone in the library has realized someone (me) is getting Louise Erdrich books out. i got out the sentence and returned it #so they put out plague of doves. i got that out and began reading it. they put out the roundhouse (ive already read that one) #and when they recognised i havent taken it they mustve gone for another because today i found the night watchmen! #which is a recent one by her and about her own grandfather #i also found tales from the yawning portal which i wanna go through cos forgotten realms #and baldurs gate descent into avernus which also forgotten realms #i was hoping to get waterdeep dragon heist but they didnt have it :( #they do have dungeon of the mad mage which is the sequel and i will take a look through but i doubt it will be for me #its essentially one giant dungeon crawl and i need a balance of roleplay/exploration/battle in my campaigns. esp as a dm #so i would have to heavily rework it if i wanted to run it. which sucks because im REALLY enjoying the waterdeep dragon heist #campaign arcane arcade did and knowing they wont follow it up with the sequel book because its so grindy is a shame. #god dragon heist is a fantastic adventure its tied for the campaign i want to run the most with icewind dale #i have icewind dale and its fucking AMAZING absolutely would recommend it #i started the arcane arcade campaign of it this morning and i am so jealous that they have the beedle and grimms set #i would fucking KILL for a beedle and grimms box set. look them up theyre sick as hell #like their platinum curse of strahd box? i dont have curse of strahd which makes me wish i had 500 usd to drop on it so bad GOD #anyway shit day with the jack news and i have period pain and chronic pain and took a hard fall walking to the library #but the books are helping me :)

my stepdad doesn't like the word obituary. why? well i can't be 100% certain because i asked no follow-up questions, but based on the way he relayed this information ("i don't like to use the word [lowers voice] oBITCHuary") i have a pretty good idea.

"we have to google meet" (as in, call each other on the Google Meet app) and "we have to google 'meat'" sound identical and i will interpret it as the latter regardless of how little sense that makes in context.

some drinking glasses have a little divot at the top of the handle into which my thumb fits perfectly!!!!!!!!

apparently when you find yourself at a branch of the library that's closing in three days for renovations, you should go ahead and check out all 11 books you have an eye on, because the computer will give you a due date SEVEN MONTHS INTO THE FUTURE. even though you could return the books at any other branch! jackpot.
