i still cannot follow the logic of when the actors in Cats have cat paws and when they have human hands and feet. because Judi Dench, I swear, has her own human hands the whole time (you can see her wedding ring!) but cat feet!

magical Mr. Mistoffoles had human feet while Tom Hooper fucking twirled him up into the air for... reasons... right at the end of his song. and skimbleshanks had not just human feet, but human tap shoes and also pants for some reason??? and bustopher jones has literal white spats over what appear to be dress shoes

which leads me to the other pressing costuming question: Idris Elba is horribly nude in Cats not just because he’s got a very noticable six-pack under the horrible cgi “fur” but because he wears a fur coat for most of it but then TAKES OFF THE COAT to dance?? I was saying to @kcrabb88 and @librarianladyx-- what does this mean?? Does it imply he’s some horrible sphinx cat that skinned another and is wearing its fur, “Silence of the Lambs” style??? Is that why everyone’s so horrified by Macavity? But if so... Judi Dench is ALSO wearing a fur coat the whole time??? Is she also wearing another cat????
