So what's the latest tum chapter about? I heard it's a tdbk chapter!!
Yes it is😊🏆🏆🥰💥🍰🧡💙🎉🥳
Very rough summary with already posted panels under the cut!⚠️
PLEASE DO NOT POST LINKS TO THIS POST ON SITES OUTSIDE OF TUMBLR AND DO NOT REPOST ANY OF IT ON TWITTER!
At Mineta's prompt, the class in the common room are talking about if Todoroki or Bakugou is stronger (Saying also that Bkg won the SF, but Todoroki at that time didn't seem serious, and in any case, they are wondering who is stronger as of now)
just as Todoroki and Bakugou walk in together
(Mineta even questions this, but Bakugou is like "nah, I just bumped into him 🤣)
Bakugou gets all fired up, goes into a rant about the Sport Festival and says that of course he's the stronger and will crush Todoroki
Iida then says that the class will help in trash clean up. It's traditionally a no-quirks challenge and Endeavor is the UA record holder (because All Might at his time got distracted talking to citizens).
Next day, during trash clean-up, we see Bakugou and Todoroki running around, lugging these absolutely giant trash collection bags compared to everyone else's normal sized bags, snatching garbage up real fast. Cementoss and Midnight are supervising, and they are wondering if this strategy will backfire and they'll pass out from carrying so much and going at such speed. But Bakugou and Todoroki are not slowing their pace, they are very motivated (and definitely having a blast competing)
Bakugou is all fired up because he wants to be No 1, no matter what is it they are competing in. Shoto is very motivated about beating his dad's record (because if he can't beat Endeavor's student self, how will he be able to surpass current Endeavor).
Some of their classmates (Mina, Kaminari, Mineta and Aoyama) are paying more attention to the TDBK competition than their surroundings, so they get captured by a villain whose quirk feeds on garbage.
Todoroki and Bakugou come face to face with the villain, realize what his quirk is and move as one:
Next, we see the villain defeated and their classmates freed.
Next, it's time to see the result of who collected the most waste.
Todoroki and Bakugou are dead last sharing the 19th spot (Ojirou is the winner, who kept collecting garbage, even when the others are distracted by watching TDBK's little competition).
We learn that Bakugou and Todoroki both burnt / blew up immediately the pile they collected when they realized that it made the villain stronger.
Ojirou says that they still deserve to be commended
And the others say that there are more important things than the school record (meaning their hearts being in the right place)
It ends in a wholesome group hug (with Bkg still grumping)
Notes:
It's a really wholesome chapter with cute art. I knew TUM wouldn't do a real SF rematch or decide who is the strongest between the two, so I expected something like this.
Still, it was cool to see Midnight and Cementoss back as "referees".
Also, it's all in good fun - even as they are competing, TDBK seem to just mostly have a blast, and it's good to see both of them being able to keep pace with each other and pushing each other in terms of strength, speed and endurance.
They both come at it from different angles, but in the end, they go for No 1. (And Shoto is giving a real fight this time).
We of course already knew that both Bakugou and Todoroki would absolutely prioritize others' safety over their silly competition at this stage of the story, still fun to see them share a single brain cell and take out the villain with ease.
Ojirou is truly best boy with a big heart and a huge sense of fairness.
Both of them being in the group hug makes me very happy - just shows how long they've come from the time they were both loners.

It’s the way Akk is slowly letting Ay in—the way Ay knows that Akk wants to be with him but struggles with how to deal with it. It’s the way Ay doesn’t hate him for it, or shame him, or guilt trip him. Because I swear I’ve seen this scenario play out before, but where a character in Ay’s position lashes out. The whole thing becomes very toxic.
Part of (if not the entirety of) the success of this show is that their relationship is built upon so much patience and understanding. Their fights are layered and based upon their own beliefs, but not about how they feel about each other. The fact that they are able to separate these two things is what a lot of other shows fail to do, in my opinion.

I'm re-reading TRT and was wondering if Jane still had the "brown teddy bear holding a plush crystal ball" from Foggy? From early on in the fic when she is saved by DD and in the hospital. These are the weird things I think about in fics that are long. The Chekhov's gun idea, not that the teddy is like a big plot point but ya know Jane actually having things that mean something to her in her life.
She does still have the bear from Foggy! It's indeed still one of the things she's slowly started collecting in New York that have meaning, that signify her living a real life with attachment and a home: the plush, the key, the mugs and the shirts, the photograph in a frame, impractical silk,
A lot of that has made its way over to her and Matt's place now, although a lot of stuff is still at her old apartment.
As for Chekhov's Gun... you're not wrong that I've sprinkled a ton of them around, and her stuff is a potential one. Becuase stuff, stuff, meaningful stuff.
Too much stuff?
Just enough?
How much of herself has been left as a clue?
We'll find out.
