It intrigues me how I see a lot of people equating Nimona and Ballister’s relationship to a father-daughter relationship when the story really isn’t about parental connection. This isn’t a story where one takes the other under the wing and acts as a mentor. (Arguably, they both take each other under their wings. They both teach each other new things and are vulnerable in different ways.) Yes of course we have the final scene which could be interpreted as a parental connection, but it could also be interpreted as friendship (or both). Im probably biased (I’m probably subconsciously viewing nimona and Ballister as me and some of my friends. We’ve had similar interactions), but I keep looking as this movie as them as friends, not parent-child
