I have never seen or read Naruto but in the one fight scene you've been posting about when Naruto grabs Sasuke by the collar to headbutt him I fully expected him to kiss Sasuke. Like I was legitimately surprised when he didn't do that.

Honestly, I'm a little confused as to why authors often ignore Kakashi's pain in fanfics when it comes to forgiving Obito. Okay, I'll clarify similarly in a moment.

Very often(sorry, actually always, I can't remember a fic where that wasn't) it's Obito who doesn't forgive Kakashi, it's Obito who insults Kakashi and humiliates Kakashi when Kakashi asks for forgiveness and for Obito to be there for him and live. Or something like that. I've never once seen Kakashi being the one who refuses to forgive Obito for all the shit he's done.

Yeah, it's part of Kakashi's character. In canon, Kakashi was pretty quick to accept the fact that Obito was alive all along and terrorizing the world, setting it up for endless dream and war. But I honestly think it was more due to the fact that Kakashi didn't have time to think and analyze the situation. For Obito didn't give him time to realize.

Yes, Kakashi has a guilt complex the size of Everest. But Kakashi is not Naruto. He doesn't forgive everything and everyone. I'm pretty sure Kakashi cried the first night after the war. Because his childhood friend had killed half of Kakashi's loved ones and was responsible for a huge mess. I want an inner conflict Kakashi who can let go of Obito, he can understand and accept Obito but not forgive. And he won't grovel to Obito to ask for him.

I really want a post war au with Obito alive, where Kakashi doesn't try on Naruto's skin and play forgiveness from the first second. He's been going to this for a very long time, with or without Obito.

Kakashi literally hasn't done a damn thing he should be apologizing for. Rin's death? Really? That's ridiculous. She killed herself using Kakashi. And it was all Madara and Zetsu's plan. I'm 100% sure that if Rin had saved herself at that point, she or Kakashi would have died anyway so that Obito would have gone over to the evil side. That's it, there's nothing there anymore for Obito to be mad at Kakashi about.

On the other side? Dude, that's fucking fucked up. Years of loneliness, the death of Minato and Kushina and Naruto's subsequent isolation, the village destroyed twice, the whole damn Uchiha clan(let's not forget that Itachi is Kakashi's kohai as well as Tenzo, and Sasuke is Kakashi's student/kid and what happened to them is 70% Obito's fault), Asuma(one of Kakashi's close friends), Neji(precious student of Kakashi's best friend), Jiraiya, the goddamn war and much, much, much more. Why the hell do the writers ignore all that when the kakaobi get together? Ignore the fact that Kakashi lost a lot because of Obito? Kakashi should be feeling emotions over this, guilt complex or not.

And Obito should have consequences for his actions, especially when they had the strongest impact on the one and only person most precious in Obito's life.

Sasuke saying that before —when he activated the Susanoo to shield them from the Tsukuyomi— he only saved Sakura and Kakashi because they were next to Naruto, not because he cares about them or what happens to them (or if they die, by the way). He says after Naruto calls him to save Kakashi and Sakura from falling into the lava and Sasuke tells him to look at what's in front of him instead, 'cause if one of them two gets killed then it's over for everyone.

Of course, Naruto calls it bullshit, implying Sasuke moved to save them without thinking, like when they were genins and Sasuke jumped in front of Naruto to protect him from Haku's attack. Sasuke didn't know what he did it at the moment ('cause he cared, 'cause he didn't want to see them hurt, 'cause they do matter to him).

In the manga we see him summoning a hawk to save himself from the fall, then hearing Naruto's call so Sasuke looks at where Kakashi and Sakura are. I know this 'cause he looks up and to his left / front, while Naruto is lower and to his right side. Then almost immediately he looks the other way and goes to save Naruto. It happens in a flash.

Sakura and Kakashi were in front of them at the time, but almost at the other side of the cave they were in, with Obito being closer to the wall of the cave. Kaguya is to Sasuke and Naruto's left, but to the right of Sakura, Kakashi and nearest to Obito. Since Naruto points later at Sakura and Kakashi with his right hand (not gonna show the panel in here but yeah), we know that he must had turned to Sasuke's direction.

Naruto must have turned again at some point, because he was falling with his belly down and looking at Sasuke, yet when he's caught by the summoning he is facing the other direction, at Kakashi and Sakura, not at Sasuke.

Which means that Sasuke could have made that on purpose so Naruto could see by himself that they were safe.

But the thing is, Sasuke describes what happened to Naruto perfectly, without looking back at them that much. In the blink of an eye Kakashi did all of that, Sasuke looked up and saw Kakashi doing it and turned around, knowing Kakashi got it and he needed to save Naruto (they didn't know yet that Naruto could levitate like Madara lol).

So when Naruto implies to him that he "moved to save them before he could think twice about it", it's because the panel confirms it. Naruto does Kakashi and Sakura the favor of implying it out loud more than he needed to and still leaving it vague enough as to not pressure Sasuke, 'cause neither Sakura or Kakashi were in the fight with Haku, so they wouldn't really know what Naruto is referring to here.

Naruto's smirk is because he knows that Sasuke knows that he knows.

Falling into Naruto Fandom again (but only for a moment, I escape unharmed) and two thoughts enlighten me:

• Jiraiya sucks.

I don't like him. He might even be a hero and shit and a savior for Konoha and all that crap, I don't remember much of him. But... he's creepy. He's weird. He's a perv.

He breaks women's privacy, he fucking weird about women. He can't even respect to the only woman he cares about (Tsunade). I don't know how he acted around the other women of the show like Sakura, Hinata and etc, but I remember CLEARLY he saying that Konan would be beautiful when she was older. He said that when she was a CHILD!! AND SHE WAS HIS STUDENT!! She might have been twelve at the time.

Also he left Naruto alone in the village, didn't he? After his birth. I don't care about Jiraiya's death, Naruto shouldn't have either (but he's too much of a moron and has abandonment issues to look past Jiraiya's actions)

• Sasuke shouldn't forgive Itachi.

Itachi is not a hero. Yeah he KiLeD HiS eNTirE CLaN to pRotecT Sasuke and all but... he killed his family, his friends, his relatives. To protect the village and its crap system. The village elders already treated the Uchiha like crap because of what they ancestor did YEARS AGO, and then he kills his entire family to protect that same system????

Good questions! (1 & 4 is gonna be long XD)

Before I answer #1 I want to do some background info: After Time Commander (Super-Sons villain) got humiliated & jailed by Jake, Mar’i & Nightwing (mar’i burned his outfit leaving him naked & Jake gave him a wedgie). He busted out after a week & went back in time to make sure the kids weren’t born by killing Nightwing. (Note: Nightwing & Starfire went on a honeymoon, so it’s just Jake & mar’i by themselves for a few days). Time Commander (John Starr) found a newly trained Robin roaming the streets for a test for Batman. But the kid was tougher than he looks, Starr had a sore jaw & a sore crotch & both fell into a portal going back to the future & he ran away to rethink strategy. Robin (Dick Grayson) tried to find him but instead found two twins fighting a group of thugs.

1: Mar’i & Jake were trying to solve the mysterious case of the Tally Mark Slasher (hint hint 😉) (also Jake was wearing a Robin outfit for the giggles) when they met Robin & realize that he was their dad when he was their age & tried their best not to mess up the timeline. So the three of them decided to help each other’s problems & send Robin back to the past. (Without revealing too much info about themselves) After a few hours kicking butt & interrogation thugs, they managed to find the killer himself, frozen in time: Victor Zsasz, & Time Commander himself stealing money (cause reasons XD) the three of them mange to stop Time Commander & put him in handcuffs for the cops. Before Robin leaves back to his time, he has something to ask:

Robin (Dick Grayson): How important is me being Robin?

Jake: really important! hundreds of sidekicks wouldn’t exist without your influence, & all thanks to you, we are able to live because of you, you gave everybody hope! You’re the heart of sidekicks.

Mar’i: yeah, what he said.

The three hugged before Robin goes back to the past…….Victor Zasasz was freed from time freeze & was in handcuffs, confused on why his pants were around his ankles, underwear pulled up from his butthole, & some childish drawings were on him; especially a Robin symbol on his chest. (*wipes sweats on forehead* darn I need a break XD)

2: Chris: Gohan, future trunks, gogeta, broly (dbz), Tokoyami, deku, shoto, Ochaco ( my hero academia), Obito, naruto, Kakashi, mintato, sasuke (Naruto)

Jon: Goku, (canon) goten, gotenks, gogeta, future trunks, hit. (DB) naruto (canon) sasuke, itachi, rock Lee (naruto) izuku, bakugo, all-might, shoto, (MHA) Luffy, ace, sabo, zoro, & chopper (one piece).

Jake: goku, gohan, vegito, cabba, broly. (Dbz) naruto, itachi, pain, (naruto) izuku, dabi, twice, all-might (MHA) luffy, sanji, chopper (One Piece).

3: yup XD & when Jai decided to use his speed full power he decides to taunt Chris either: pulling down his lower eyelid & sticks tongue out, gives the middle finger(s), show his bare butt & spanks it (maybe kisses his hand first) or saying meep meep! & speeds off leaving Chris in the dust.

4: yes, but as a one off villain, let me explain: I do like the idea of zod escaping from the Phantom Zone years later instead of a few days (great idea bud) but instead of joining zod because of his “background,” Chris was a sleeper agent (in my universe).

When space pirate Amalak (from new earth’s Superman comics) invades earth (when Chris was 12) to hunt down Kryptonians, he accidentally triggers Chris’s “sleeper agent code”: zod. (By telling Chris he looks just like him) days later, at night, Chris sneaks off to the fortress of solitude & frees zod & 30 other kryptonian criminals from the zone, kneeling to them.

The next day, zod & the criminals did an invasion in Metropolis. (As seen in the Last Son book) the superfamily (Clark, Kara, Karen, Kon, Jon 11, & krypto)the justice league, Young Titans, & the special police force with kryptonite weapons defends the city; The only kryptonians left were zod & Chris (Some were taken down non-lethally & the rest killed). After seeing NightStar gets trapped by broken buildings, Chris breaks free from his programming, & unleashed a power nobody ever seen before: Dark Phantom mode.

(In my universe, after a beaten by his dad, Chris was thrown outside the prison where he was born, slowly dying from the pain, when suddenly, a mystical blue dragon called NightWing (who created the zone in my universe; a myth) appeared out of nowhere & went into his body as pure energy to heal him & gave him unique abilities that needed to be unlocked somehow.)

Chris (in the present) with Superman, fought Zod (a less brutal version of the invincible vs conquest fight) & snaps zod’s neck (like man of steel) using his darkness powers to save Superman from being killed. Chris screamed in pain & sadness, being comforted by his “dad” Superman. A fe days later, Superman takes Chris in outer space saying you belong here, you belong. Then, they went back down to earth to their home in Hamilton county & did a big group hug with his “family.”

5: since they’re kids, probably between 8-10; on the feet, stomach, rib cage, & on the thighs when grabbed.

This is a surprisingly loaded question because I have so many and some of them span for almost 20 years now.

Also, as usual, disclaimer, since I've seen all the ship wars and holywars, THESE ARE ALL PERSONAL OPINION. PERSONAL OPINION ONLY.

In the past:

My first ship when I was 12 was Pain/Konan, and I think that was the first smut I've ever read like period. I was a big cheerleader of Hinata and Naruto/Hinata because I liked that Hinata just minded her business and stayed in her lane while everyone else was going thru shit (Team 8 had the best work-life balance, I think, they just clocked in and clocked out, no shenanigans). Obviously, Temari/Shikamaru and I loved Neiji/Tenten. I think as a kid these were like really fun dynamics. Once the anime reached the Akatsuki I was all over the Akatsuki LMAO.

But now, as a grown adult, I am almost 99% just KKHD, and Akatsuki ships are like the default absolute truth to me, but recently, I've been obsessed with more Naruto Yuri.

Love Ino/Sakura for that double-income spy who owns a secret flower shop/doctor dynamic; it's just nice. Like I am a firm believer that they could have solved their differences by scissoring or something. Also like, I think their backstory is like an insane missed opportunity (but what's written cannot be unwritten, so whatever) because these pages made me feel like I was reading some kind of josei backstory. Like, go ahead and read these pretending this is not from Naruto, and tell me where do u think this could be from.

Like "pussy from a girl who treats you like a small stupid animal (good until psychic damage hits)"

Like, I would be like, this is either a shoujo manga, or the next page is older Sakura crying in the kitchen with a photo of Ino or something, and then by the end of the story, they, like fuck in the field or something while Sakura is like "I can't believe my toxic female friend from school has 4 fingers up my pussy!", but this could just be projecting, but I still like the ship. On a serious note, Sakura being a crybaby who was picked on would have been a fun opportunity to play with her character and create more empathy for Naruto within her, but her role was more like tying the two characters together, which worked well, but lots of people were salty, but it pushed people to support her character more so it evens out.

Tsunade/Shizune is like my next super fave, especially after rewatching the Tsunade arc. Tsunade's character is just so well done when it comes to how people cope with grief by doing destructive things, I loved it; Kishimoto is fantastic at mature story beats like this weaved between magical ninja fights. But yeah I loved their dynamic like Shizune is essentially her attendant/pet girl/assistant who is extremely loyal to her, but also nagging in a way and also Shizune is just very animated and kinda dorky while Tsunade is a calm mommy- sorry a mature rich woman of status who needs to be taken care of (nearly blacked out writing this). Their back and forth is just chef kiss, too. Honestly, I think that's my favourite Naruto arc; the first part of Naruto is great when it comes to mundane details that I now have more appreciation for.

And obviously still love Temari/Shikamaru! I loved that Shikamaru was always very tsundere and going on about how much he hates girls, but deep down is actually like, "Me when a bad bitch tells me to do anything." it's a satisfying way to play with his "character flaw". Seeing him go soft on Temari was like a mini character arc within his already happening character arc during Sasuke's pursuit, like we saw him grow up twice, great stuff!

The entire chapter 235 is just an amazing growth for Shikamaru in elevating the like "men/women" way of thinking to like "what makes a person who they are" way of thinking I really love that. The character is also a great reminder for those afraid of failing btw.

Kakashi/Iruka is my fave, 50% from a historical standpoint; the fact that you can find Kakairu fanfic on Geocities from 2001, and I have some doujins in my collection that are more than 20 years old now is fascinating to me. Love how incredibly loyal the Japanese fans are to Iruka; these guys were holding onto hope for so many years till the Pain arc and then, boom, Studio Pierrot's final Naruto arc!!! It's just incredible fandom history. I love that kinda stuff, love the ship itself too, it's very homey to me, some of the legendary fic they had was fantastic, like entire book's length, incredibly loyal fans.

Boruto Endgame (Couple) Predictions

The one thing that annoys me more than anything when watching self proclaimed anime experts review episodes of Two Blue Vortex, is the constant assertion that Boruto and Sarada are end game.

Is it possible? Of course, but is it undeniably guaranteed? Absolutely not. I feel this way for many reasons, including the fact that Kishimoto really doesn't do romance.

It's for this reason that I want to list out and give rationale for 5 potentially Boruto endgame pairings that logically make sense.

Please keep in mind that at this point, Boruto hasn't actually expressed romantic interest in anyone.

Boruto x Sarada - In chapter 69, it was confirmed that Sarada Uchiha has feelings for Boruto. Also, Sarada's feelings for Boruto have been made obvious throughout the show. Boruto appears to be largely oblivious to these feelings. However, this pairing being endgame would actualize the Naruto x Sasuke pairing that some fans wanted and the Naruto x Sakura pairing that other fans wanted. The other thing about this pairing is that Sarada has now hugged Boruto at least twice. I know this gets many shippers excited, but... Sakura has also hugged Naruto multiple times. Sakura has hugged Naruto in front of Hinata multiple times. Sasuke and Naruto have even kissed twice. Umm... clearly these Naruto pairings weren't endgame, otherwise shipping Boruto x Sarada would be incestual. So yeah... I wouldn't get too hyped about Boruto x Sarada sharing hugs just yet. Playing the long game worked for Hinata. It could work for Sumire too.

Boruto x Mitsuki - In chapter 69, it was confirmed that Mitsuki has feelings for Boruto. Now, Boruto has also made it obvious that he has strong feelings for Mitsuki (even if it was only in the anime and are currently only platonic). When Mitsuki deserted the village to travel to the Hidden Stone Village, Boruto openly bragged about how strong his relationship with Mitsuki was. He even put his title of shinobi at risk. Not to mention that when Boruto and Sarada searched Mitsuki's bedroom, they found a picture of Boruto as the only personal artifact within the room. The pairing of Boruto x Mitsuki is a longtime coming and would likely have been orchestrated by Orochimaru from the beginning. Now, there's a lot of other reasons that I ship this ship as well. Until proven wrong, I do believe that Mitsuki is a descendant of Toneri (b/c they look exactly alike), and we all know that Toneri was obsessed with Hinata (Boruto's mom). Also, this ship would be the actualization of Jiraya x Orochimaru. Not to mention that even though Mitsuki is male, as the son of a nonbinary individual such as Orochimaru, it's not farfetched to think that the character of Mitsuki could be written as sexually queer.

Boruto x Sumire - In chapter 19, it was confirmed that Sumire has feelings for Boruto. I don't really have a ton to say about this ship honestly, because I'm not a big manga reader. I could talk about how Boruto saved Sumire from Mitsuki, but... that act seems like a very Naruto thing to do. Ultimately, Sumire has never spent a lot of time with Boruto... so yeah... They could end up together. I mean Naruto never spent a lot of time with Hinata, yet he married her. However, Sakura was in love with Sasuke, so Sakura was not a viable option for Naruto in the first place, and Sakura wasn't even nice to Naruto. The same cannot be said for Sarada or Mitsuki.

Boruto x Cho Cho - Okay, this one is farfetched, but it's not impossible. Do I think these two will end up together? Ha... don't make me laugh, absolutely not. However... Cho Cho thinks Kawaki is hot. In the anime, Cho Cho has demonstrated romantic interest in Kawaki and a revulsion towards Boruto. Why? Because, she thinks Kawaki is hot and Boruto is just her annoying classmate that she grew up with. Well guess what... now, she thinks Boruto is Kawaki and Kawaki is Boruto. Therefore, it would make sense to say that she thinks Boruto is hot and Kawaki is annoying now. I don't know how her feelings towards Boruto have been influenced now that she thinks he has murdered the hokage.

Boruto x Eida - Ironically, this is the only individual that Boruto has kind of expressed interest in. If Eida is still alive by the end of the series, there's a decent chance that Boruto and Eida could be endgame. I would actually assert that there's a better chance of Boruto x Eida being together than Boruto x Cho Cho and Boruto x Sumire. Now, you're probably wondering why I would say that? After all, Eida loves Kawaki and Eida didn't brainwash herself. Well, I believe that the only reason Eida wants to be with Kawaki is because Kawaki and Boruto are the only two people that can genuinely love Eida (that Eida knows of, technically Sarada and Sumire can as welll, so I guess those two could also be shipped with Eida). Shortly before the timeskip, Boruto asks Eida why she chose Kawaki and not him. She basically answers that Boruto is too young because he's 12. Well... Boruto is nearly 16 and he's only getting older, so I don't think that Boruto's age is going to be a problem anymore, but you know what I think will be a problem...? Kawaki's apathy towards Eida. In Ch.6, Eida tries to seek Kawaki's protection against the Shinju, and Kawaki doesn't give a flying fugdenugget. It is for this reason, that as Boruto gets older and Eida becomes more familiar with Boruto's kindness (remember she can see Boruto always), her romantic interest in Boruto will grow and deepen. Therefore, she could potentially be a future love interest like Sarada, Sumire, and Mitsuki are now.

What ship were you completely obsessed with as a teenager, but now you don't care about anymore?

Sasuke x Naruto lol. I absolutely LOVED this ship, wrote fic about, got into shipping wars, I was the absolutely worst kind of teenage obsessed with them ahahaha. I even met one of my longterm best friends though a Yahoo Groups ship forum for them aosidjaiod.

Now? I could care less lmaooooo. But I still hold fondness for the ship regardless.

My first ship was definitely Mamoru x Usagi in Sailor Moon! I still love them to this day 💖

Yami x Yugi was the first ship I wrote for. I think. It may have also been Lena x Cloud from Zoids New Century, I am UNCLEAR on the details and my ff.net account is lost to time lmao.

I have plenty of NOTPs, none in my current fandom though! I just...there are some ships whose fandoms have ruined the ship for me, so I try very hard to avoid and/or block. Liberally.

Dreamling! My beloved pet ship that I've written over 100k words (200k+ across all my Sandman ships) for and counting! 💖

I mean...not really? I've always been a multi-shipper at heart, you are going to be hard pressed to find me a ship where that particular combination is the only one I'll accept. I love the idea of an OTP, I just don't have one lmao.

Is there any couple that, to this day, that you are extremely mad about not getting into?

Not really, no. There's some fandoms I WISH I could get into, but either I didn't like the source material (sorry good omens fans, I tried twice D:) or I didn't really like the quality of fic in the fandom just due to characterization differences. But nothing I'm like upset I didn't get into before lol.

Is there any ship you used to dislike but now you think they're kind of interesting?

Hmmmmm, can't think of one no.

Oh lord, yeah probably. Cannot think of any off the top of my head, but there were some weird ships back in the day.

Ooooooo! Great question. I'm currently trying to think of the most outlandish thing and all I can think of now is that Tony the Tiger x The Grinch fanfic! 🤣

Probably Dreamling right now! That's mostly due to sheer volume compared to other Sandman ships though.

Feral 4 Feral, and/or Soft Idiots in Love. Sometimes both!

What do you absolutely hate in a ship?

In a ship dynamic? When miscommunication is treated as something romantic, instead of something that needs to be worked on. Also when crossing clearly set boundaries is considered romantic.

In a ship fandom? There's too much to list, but I think the big one is when a ship fandom considers their ship "better" than the other ships in the fandom. Even the canon ship lmao. It just takes away the fun of shipping!

Why I Ship BoruSumi

No hate

In Naruto, it was all about shipping. People love watching Naruto or other characters having romantic relationships with others and ship baits and it was exciting to see what would be end game. It was all about the fun. But a part of the fandom took that fun and made it a nightmare (NaruSaku/Sakura) fandom. They sent death threats to Masashi Kishimoto and the team to make NaruSaku canon and loved hating on any other character that interacted with Naruto, mostly Hinata Hyuga. But after the ending of Naruto, some of the fandom can’t seem to accept that. They moved onto the kids, hoping to live out their delusions through them (Boruto and Sarada). After Boruto the movie came out, most people speculated that they would be canon, and because the next gen wasn’t planned yet, they had no one else to pair Boruto up with, so that’s why there are a lot of blushing scenes.  

Now, BoruSumi is one of Boruto’s most popular ships, along with BoruSara. Here's why I ship BoruSumi:

Opposites:

Ever heard of the saying, “opposites attract”. Yeah, well, that’s true in this case. Most Naruto/Boruto couples are yin and yang. Yin being quiet, emotionless, and shy. Whereas yang is loud, obnoxious, and easily angered. Boruto was quickly ruled out as yang, whereas Sumire was ruled as yin. Boruto often pulled pranks and would shout and have random outbursts. Sumire was shown to be quiet and shy and scared whenever her class was having fall outs, which was easily shown in one episode where the class was having a girl VS boy battle. Even after her arc, she was still shown to be scared about other people and what they think of her and a shy and caring person:

Now, every Naruto/Boruto character get their personality from either their mother or father and Naruto and Sasuke got theirs from their mothers and married someone like their fathers (Hinata/Minato and Sakura/Fugaku). Even Itachi got Mikoto's personality and Izumi had Fugaku's (it was confirmed that Itachi loved her). It's only fair since Boruto inherited his father's personality that he marries someone like his mother, that being Sumire. Sarada, in contrast to what people think, actually inherited her mother's personality.

2. Treat each other differently:

Sumire is kind so she treats everyone equally, but she has confirmed her feelings towards Boruto twice, but this one's mostly pointed towards Boruto.

Chocho: Shouted at her, angry at her, called her a liar, etc:

Namida: He's barely had any interaction with her but she is a friend of his. But in this scene, he didn't have a direct conversation with her, but still wanted to help. But judging from his calmness, her wanting to not be a ninja didn't bug him much. He has also seen to tease her and Wasabi:

Sarada: He didn't see her as a normal girl and hated her guts, vice versa. But as the anime/manga went on, he became comfortable around her and saw her as only a teammate:

But with Sumire, he listens to her like she's his mom, which Sumire is technically the mom or big sister of the group:

3. He doesn't call her by her name:

People may think this is a con to the ship, but it's actually a pro. In Japan, calling someone by their title has shown to be respectful and calling people like how Boruto calls Kakashi, Konohamaru and Hanabi is shown to be disrespectful. Now, he probably thinks he's not close or not good enough to call her by her name. But he always respected her, more than I can say for Sarada and his own sensei. He only called her by her name once and that was when he had saved her from darkness, but it was also life-changing for him, meaning her name meant something to him. That was when Sumire started having feelings, too. 4. Jealousy: Sumire has shown jealous (the scene where Boruto was chasing Sarada on the boat in the Kiri arc), but it was barely displayed. Boruto, however was shown jealousy over her two times (probably even more but I haven't watched the whole show, just up to episode 232, but these are the scenes I can remember):

5. Boruto was worried for Sumire when she was in trouble:

In the last scene, Boruto was upset (and in the novel, he even cried for her) and blamed himself for her getting hurt.

6. Boruto blames himself for Sumire getting hurt:

In the novel (as mentioned earlier), Boruto cried for Sumire in the novel, but in the anime, it showed him as worried. It got so bad that Sarada had to drag him out. He then vowed to stop the guy who hurt her.

7. Those around Boruto seem to know he gets a bit overprotective of Sumire:

Shikadai:

He was worried about Boruto's reaction when Inojin said that Sumire might be transferring.

After Inojin opened his big mouth, Boruto instantly became angry and tried getting her back.

Mitsuki:

Mitsuki is a bit different because he doesn't know but he does, if that makes sense. It's obvious that Mitsuki likes Boruto (I'm pretty sure it's confirmed), so that technically makes Sumire his rival. But Mitsuki still seemed to know that whenever Sumire was involved, Boruto would act differently and rush over to her. He knew he acted differently around her. He even went as far to ask her about Boruto when she was in the hospital, all because he took Inojin's words out of context and assumed she liked him.

Naruto:

Boruto's own father seemed to know how much Boruto cared for her. Naruto probably realized this when Boruto asked him to use his Hokage title. You could see the realization on his face and the smile he gave him was a "I will, trust me" one (there is a pic, but I can't find it).

Hinata:

A mother knows her child best, right? Hinata had been in love with Naruto since childhood, so she knew about young love. She didn't know Sumire in person, but she knew that she was important to Boruto since he rarely ever asks anything from his father.

7. Boruto trusts Sumire:

Now, Boruto trusts all his comrades, but he trusted Sumire even after everything that she did and his trust in her was unbelievable. He put his life in her hands even though she tried to destroy his home and family. He even put faith in her and wanted to protect her and couldn't chose between her and the village.

8. Parallels:

KawaSumi is parallel with SasuHina (purple being mc's rival and lover, but Kawaki's and Sasuke's are leaning towards black, but at one point was purple) and BoruSara is parallel with SasuKari/NaruSaku.

10. Confessions:

Sumire has confessed her feelings like Hinata has.

11. Data book:

In Sumire's data book, it was confirmed that she loved Boruto, just like Hinata's and Sakura's confirmed their love to their respective partners.

But this is all my opinion and why I ship them. But if you ship BoruSara then that's fine. But these are my reasons for shipping this ship and I'm pretty sure it's canon because of the last point. I don't think that Ino or Karin's have confirmed their feelings for Sasuke when the series was going on. And I know Sarada's definitely hasn't. But ship your own ship.

Only time will tell, I guess. and the decisions for Kishi to decide and some rabid fans sending death threats to him to make their ship canon won't change his mind.

Honestly, I'm a little annoyed that we don't know about who Kakashi's mother is. Like, hey, he's one of the four human main characters. We know the parents of Sasuke, Sakura, and Naruto, we know Kakashi's father, but we don't know his mother. No name, no clan, no appearance. And that's a huge omission.

I have to say, I love Sakumo/Orochimaru and Sakumo/Kaguya. Each of these ships gives me a huge scope for ideas and aww. I love it. But at the same time, it makes me want to think of something more real and possible.

I have a theory that Kakashi's mother was a Senju. What do we even know about the fate of the Senju clan? Only that they all died during the two shinobi wars. Honestly, that seems a bit dubious to me. I think there were a few people who married people not from the Senju clan. Like, for example, Kakashi's mother in my theory.

The fact that the Senju clan is best known for their chakra control is what led me to this theory. Kakashi is known for that as well. Yeah, that doesn't mean that anyone with good control is a Senju, but I'm just saying it's very interesting.

Both Kakashi and Tsunade are the last members of their clans. It's very sad and wouldn't it be nice if they were related and were distant relatives? They both wouldn't be so lonely then.

I generally like the idea that Sakumo, Jiraiya, Orochimaru and Tsunade knew each other and even participated in some missions together. We're told in canon that Sakumo's power level can be compared to theirs, then why not?

Hence my au. Tsunade left the village sometime towards the end of the second shinobi war, didn't she? So, she, upon learning that Sakumo committed suicide, decides to gather Kakashi with her from the village. Because Kakashi remains her last living relative and she's not ready to lose him as well.

She arrives just as the villagers begin to poison and abuse him. His, Kakashi's, child, because of his father's "misbehavior". Tsunade sees that Kakashi is slowly starting to break down from the inside and darkness begins to appear in his heart. So she takes him away from that hell. She tells the hokage it's for training. She threatens if she has to. But she doesn't let Kakashi go and she doesn't give up. They leave the village and Kakashi travels the world with Tsunade and even learns things from her? Imagine Kakashi with a byakugo and a kimono, omg. That's beautiful.

This au becomes twice as interesting if it's also so (adored by me) time traveling. Imagine it's Kakashi(what age? Hmm, good question) traveling through time and he gets to the moment when he finds his father's body. Kakashi experiences the same nightmare again. He thinks back to what the future holds for him and how it could have been fixed. The obvious place to start is with Minato's team, but how? What is there to do?

Kakashi tries to make plans and at one point he receives an offer from Tsunade. Kakashi is shocked, he doesn't remember this last time. What was different then?

Kakashi at first thinks of refusing because he needs to save the world, he needs to save his near and dear ones, he has so much to do, but then.... Kakashi wonders if things wouldn't be easier if Kakashi just disappeared from Team Minato's life? It would change the story. There would be no Rin's crush on him, no Obito's jealousy and they would get a third teammate, much better than Kakashi. There won't be fights and problems. Kakashi isn't running away from his problems and troubles, he'll still find ways to deal with Zetsu, Madara and Danzo, but just away from Minato's team.

Kakashi thinks about it all night and comes to the decision that he accepts Tsunade's offer. After all, what in the life of Team Minato would his absence change? Maybe Rin and Obito will get together and there won't be a cannabi bridge mission, there won't be all that disaster in that form. Minato will be with them. It'll all be good, right?

That au can add a third layer to this one. A few months after Kakashi leaves the village, a certain little Uchiha Obito starts having strange dreams. In them, there's a team featuring an ash-haired boy and his childhood friend Rin. There is rivalry. There is blood and death and madness. There are red clouds and the moon. There is Kakashi, who Obito doesn't see in the village until the time of Team Minato. And then there is the time of Team Minato's formation and Obito wonders who is this third comrade of theirs and where is Kakashi?

I like the concept of Kakashi and Obito going 1+1 share when traveling through time. Because Obito wanted to see the future through their shared eye, so why wouldn't he see that very future while in the past? Their connection is beautiful. Will Obito get all his memories and his identity back? That's a good question.

Just saw some tumblr posts about the definition of heroine due to how it's defined depending on the medium. For manga and anime though, Heroine refers to the girl that the male MC is romantically involved with, particularly for the shonen genre, who also have admirable traits. For western media though, heroine means different.

Context, for both Naruto and Bleach, Hinata and Orihime are the heroines since both women are romantically involved with Naruto and Ichigo, their respective series' MCs. If applied in the western context, both women are primarily love interests and don't necessarily fit the definition of heroine.

That's why knowing the context and cultural differences is key to understand why character dynamics in manga and anime are different in western media. People seem to forget that both Bleach and Naruto are made by Japanese mangakas who insert part of their culture in their works. Naruto proposed to Hinata twice, one in Shippuden where he asked her to "shut up and follow me", to western sensibilities, this is nothing but to Japanese, that same statement is an informal and kinda impolite way of proposing marriage. Hence, it led to Hinata fainting since she thought Naruto is proposing marriage to her. In the Last, Naruto makes the proper and typical Japanese marriage proposal by saying to Hinata that he wanted to spend his life with her, till he or they die. That also seals the deal of them being an official couple together. Japanese men usually use roundabout statements when proposing marriage unlike in the west where men ask directly.

To end my statement, it is useless to argue with the definition of heroine since its meaning is different between cultures. You'll just end up going into circles since each side will claim they are right.

P.S. - I stopped myself from commenting about the issue of why Temari and Hinata are not wearing their husbands' clan crests while Sakura was wearing the Uchiha crest. To put it simply, people who marry into the clan don't wear the crest of the clan they marry into except if the clan head allows them to since the use of the clan crest is usually reserved to those born into the clan, like the kids. That's why the Uzumaki siblings, new gen Ino-Shika-Cho and Sarada have no problems with wearing it as they were born into it, their mothers and father (in Inojin's case) usually don't do it so Sakura is just the anomaly.

Yeah in Japan heroine is more for the MC's love interest were in the western media its for main female or females in the story.

Its a bit sad that so much can be lost in the translations due to the difference in culture like what Naruto said to Hinata where he basically asked her to marry him. Its even more annoying since Japanese aren't as open and subdued when it comes to showing love and romance compared to western countries leading to a lot of misunderstandings in the fandoms.

Hinata does have a necklace with the Uzumaki symbol though likely a gift from Naruto.

Sakura however clearly just put the clan symbol on everything to brag, it only shows how obsessed she is with Sasuke and sees him more as a trophy then a person.

A Little Parting Gift

Menma had never really gotten along with Sasuke. Sasuke was all the things Menma wasn’t. He was charming, amiable, popular, and naturally gifted. Furthermore, Sasuke had the support of his family. That was what got to Menma the most, because no matter how hard Menma worked, no matter what jutsus he mastered, no matter how much control over his Nine Tailed Fox he demonstrated, he could never be more than a precious child.

Everyone in the damned Hidden Leaf Village treated him like he had no place as a shinobi. He was deprived of his dignity, but it would all end soon. He scratched his scalp; it was itchy from the dye he used to change his appearance. He always liked the look of black on himself. The new color, outfit change, and fox mask he got from a matsuri a while back would make him unrecognizable. He took one final glance back at his empty living room; his mother and father were away on a mission. Then, he left it like he intended to leave it all.

If only it were so easy. It was near midnight and most of the village was asleep. He was mere steps from the border at the A-Un gate when he heard him, “Awfully late for someone to be lurking about. You wouldn’t be up to no good, would you? Sorry to pry, but I don’t think I’ve seen you around before. Are you passing through?”

It just had to be him, Sasuke Uchiha. His very presence made his skin crawl. Sasuke’s usual posse of girls wasn’t with him. This made him wary. What was he doing up then? Curiosity got the better of him. He donned his mask and then turned to face his rival. The wind caught in his black fur collared blue cloak.

“Ominous,” Sasuke hummed. “I’ll have you know my father runs the police force around here and my brother is in the Akatsuki. I’d think twice about causing trouble.”

Menma laughed, focusing on keeping the pitch of his voice lowered, “Oh yeah?” It occurred to him that Sasuke might be useful for once so his aura suddenly became heavy and his shadow style chakra flared.  “Y’know what? I don’t see either of them here.” He spread his arms wide and approached Sasuke. “In fact, all I see is an Uchiha runt– one who doesn’t even possess the mangekyo sharingan.”

“You sure seem to know a lot about me,” said Sasuke, feigning confidence. “But who exactly are you?”

“Wouldn’t you like to know?”

“Know your enemy, right?”

“It won’t matter soon enough. I’ve found a use for you.”

“Wait, what?”

The masked man levitated from the ground a bit and then, with blinding speed comparable to the Leaf’s Yellow Flash, he nearly teleported behind Sasuke. Before Sasuke could even think, “He’s fast!” Menma delivered a swift blow to the back of his neck, incapacitating him.

Sasuke woke to the clattering of gears and a blaring headache. He was tied to a post with some sort of sealing jutsu. He groaned, drawing the attention of this captor who was only a few meters away. “So, you’re finally awake?” Asked the masked man.

Sasuke now realized how serious this was. He tugged at his restraints, but they did not budge. “What’s going on? Where did you bring me?” He asked.

“This is The Training Cave. The very place Lord Jiraiya taught Minato Namikaze, The Yellow Flash,” Menma explained. Soon it would be his lair– a testament to how he would prove his worth and surpass his father. “It is also the place where I will gather up kekkei genkai. Just. Like. Yours.” With each word, he closed the distance between himself and Sasuke until he was crouched before him.

Eye to eye with this masked man, Sasuke felt fear creeping in on him, but stronger still, he sensed something. He knew him. He just needed more time to figure out who he was. “I thought my sharingan was worthless to you,” he prodded.

The masked man laughed again. Beneath his facade squeaked a slight falsetto, “That is true, but only if they remain as they are,” his tone darkened. “However, if I were to force you to awaken your mangekyo sharingan… heh you might be useful after all. I think I’d like one.”

Sasuke recoiled and croaked, “F-Force?”  His eyes were wide in disbelief. To force the awakening of an Uchiha’s sharingan to any degree meant serious emotional and/or physical distress.

“Yes,” uttered the masked man, poised to inflict his harm.

Sasuke winced, but when his kidnapper made no move, he gazed at him in confusion. There was nothing moral stopping Menma, but it occurred to him that he had his rival completely and utterly at his mercy for the first time. He wanted to do something extravagant.

Catching his fist in his hand, Menma decided. “You…… you like women, don’t you?” He asked.

Sasuke was even more confused by this. Of course he did. He surrounded himself with them for a reason. It was fun to talk to them and to feel like he was valued, but why would this masked man ask about that? “Uh yeah?” He answered weakly.

“Perfect,” Menma growled. Finally, there was something he could take from Sasuke for all those times he made him feel like all his efforts were for naught. “Then, I will be your partner. I will make you come for me.”

“What?” Sasuke gasped, but the masked man did not hesitate. In mere moments, he was perched on Sasuke’s lap. His gloved hands made quick work brushing aside Sasuke’s purple button up and reaching under his black V-neck to grab a hold of his nipples. Rubbing them between his fingers made Sasuke let out a breathy moan.

This was not the only effect Menma had on Sasuke. He could feel his captive stiffening beneath him, so he rolled his hips hard on top of him. “Already? Sas-uke-kun?”

Sasuke grimaced uncomfortably and moaned again– this time, shamefully. How could he allow a man to make him feel such things? He shut his eyes tight and held his breath. If he could just block the masked man out, then maybe he could pull through.

Menma was never one to quit though. Seeing what his rival intended to do, he acted quickly. Putting himself between Sasuke’s legs, he groped at the bulge in his forest green pants. When Sasuke didn’t react, Menma got more aggressive. He undid his pants, reached into his boxers, and pulled out his member, scoffing in annoyance. Of course, Sasuke was longer than he was. What didn’t he beat him at?

Menma pushed the vexing thought aside. He would beat him now. That much was certain. He began to stroke him– at first gently with fingers. Sasuke’s plan wasn’t working. If anything, the sensory and breath deprivation was only pushing him further into ecstasy. When he panted to catch his breath, he hardened more and Menma moved quicker.

Sasuke began to squirm. His legs squeezed around Menma’s and when he felt him slow down occasionally, he throbbed to meet his unrelenting fingertips. Menma leaned the mouth of his mask close to Sasuke’s ear. “You have no idea how good it feels to finally beat you. I am so sick of being underestimated. And when I’m done with you, it’ll be the rest of that damned Leaf Village. My father… The Kage…  And in time, the world will know the power of my amassed kekkei genkai. You can try to deny me, but like all the others who will try to stop me, you too will fail. They will come to acknowledge me. And you, Sasuke, will come for me!” His whisper worked up to a shrill yell and his hand from gentle stroking to pounding.

The voice was too familiar. “M-Menma?” Sasuke gasped, opening his eyes to see if he was right, but he couldn’t take it any longer. The tightness in his lower belly gathered and many of his muscles began to involuntarily contract. He came all over Menma’s glove and the belts that wrapped it.

Menma would’ve relished in this moment of Sasuke thrusting into his hand and the star pattern in his eyes if he hadn’t just been correctly identified. He sucked his teeth and stood up, grumbling, “You just had to stick your nose into a place it didn’t belong didn’t you…”

He would’ve killed him right then and taken his eyes if it weren’t for what Sasuke said next, “I’m so sorry, Menma. I-I didn’t know…” 

He really was annoying.

Instead, Menma clasped his hands together with the index and middle fingers raised to form the sign of the tiger and channel his chakra. “Just shuddup! I don’t need any of your stupid apologies!” He screamed, making no attempt to mask his voice anymore and slamming his open right hand onto the ground.  A bit of Sasuke’s seed spread from the site of impact and an eight-pronged seal continued further still until it encompassed Sasuke.

“W-what are you doing?”

“Suppress,” Menma choked out and Sasuke’s head fell limp. He carried him back to The Leaf and left him on a bench. He would wake up and remember nothing. 

Menma had never really gotten along with Sasuke. Sasuke was all the things Menma wasn’t, but Sasuke had shown him empathy. For that, Menma would let him live. He would find his sharingan elsewhere.

The Mershark & Mermaid - Part 6

The young sharkling stared at the fish before her unsure where to start. “If you don’t eat you won’t grow big and strong.” Her Papa said. Even so, Sarada had never eaten a fish before. The two were in Sasuke’s home, he lived down deep in a cave where no one could bother him. It seemed quite lonely but on the plus side, they didn’t have to worry about any unexpected intruders. “It’s staring at me…” The little mershark muttered poking it. Sasuke sighed and was about to give her his piece instead until the little sharkling disappeared and brought back a bunch of seaweed. “But that’s okay, I found this.” She said placing it in a ‘bowl.’ Well that was what the humans referred it to Sakura had told him. “Does Mama make you this?” 

“Yeah, it’s my favourite.” She grinned slurping away using her claws; unfortunately, seaweed wasn’t enough for a growing sharkling. “It’ll get easier… as you get older your instincts will kick in and you won’t hesitate but to go in for the kill.” Sarada had stopped eating at that, so… she was just going to attack innocent creatures for no reason? “Is this why everyone back home is afraid of me?” She may be young but wasn’t stupid. It was obvious how different, bigger even Sarada was than merfolks. They didn’t like her clearly but it never occurred to her that they could simply… be afraid. She only had a few close friends but would never want to hurt them. “We’re predators Sarada, and they’re the prey. That’s how the world works.” If she was going to survive as a sharkling, he had to toughen her up. Otherwise, she may as well live with Sakura and at this rate neither was a great option. “But you never ate Mama, so you’re a hipocrit, Papa.” This again. “I think you mean a hypocrite.” “That’s what I said, hipocrit,” Sasuke smirked amused, for someone who talks a lot it was adorable how she pronounced certain words wrong. And he was still getting used to being called ‘Papa.’ Papa, Papa, Papa. It was like she wouldn’t stop saying it, not that he could blame her. “But Sarada won’t eat fish, I will be a fish-free shark.” 

“You really think you can decide that.” “Yup!” Such confidence. “Finish your food,” was all he responded ruffling her hair, he'll let her be for now. Sarada pouted trying to sort out her small bang. “Yo Sasuke! You in there?” 

Suigetsu? Immediately Sasuke was on high alert, as was his daughter. Sasuke told her to remain quiet as he went out to get rid of his friend, only to find another two sharks waiting. Did something happen? “What is it? I’m busy.” “Yeah, yeah. You’d rather brood alone but this is urgent. Apparently, a mermaid was spotted near the area not too long ago.” Ah, most likely Sakura. She should be back home by now though. “And get this, Neji also met one. She was looking for some bracelet or something. I’m telling you Sasuke, they’re taking advantage of us. They think we’ve gone… soft…” He wasn’t like where this going. “What’s your point?” “My point is, the next intruder who comes in should get a warning, regardless if they’re friends with pinky or not. A bite, a scratch? We’re sharks Sasuke, they are food! You can’t keep expecting us to live like this!” “I couldn't care less if you want to go ahead and kill a mermaid but leave Sakura and her friends alone. That was the deal.” At this little Sarada had peeked out to see what was going on. There were three other sharks with her Papa. A white-haired male with a white tail, his fangs were big and scary. A red-haired female with a black tail which Sarada found to be mesmerising. It wasn’t every day she got to meet a fellow female shark and her Papa was right about them growing bigger. She was twice Mama’s size, did that mean she would grow as big as well? And finally, an orange-haired male who was slightly bigger than the other two but not like her Papa, with a purple tail. Despite the size, he gave off a calming aura. 

Sarada was both intrigued but also terrified. On one claw, she really wanted to meet them, as they were friends of Sasuke so surely they wouldn’t eat her right? However, Papa had told her strictly to stay inside and warned her about the dangers.

“They're mocking us, they know we won't touch them so they keep coming back. They need to be taught a lesson.” “I think you’re the one who’s getting cocky. Would you like a reminder of what I did with your tail?” “Sasuke...” Jugo could already feel the urge to kill coming from the Uchiha so got in between for the other shark's sake.

“I told you this was a bad idea,” Karin muttered to Suigetsu. “Papa you shouldn’t be threading your friends.” Sarada appeared beside him with a serious expression, once again mispronouncing her words. “Mama would not approve.” “I thought I told you to stay in the cave.” Despite the deadliness in his voice and anger, Sarada wasn't bothered, as if she was already used to it. All three sharks turned to the little sharkling who seemed remarkably like Sasuke, except for as long as they knew him Sasuke had shown no other interest besides the mermaid. “Who's she?” Suigetsu pointed to the sharkling confused. “Hi! I'm Sarada.” She was about to swim up and shake his claw but Sasuke pulled her back behind him. “Sarada.” He gave her a stern warning. 

“Sasuke... don't tell me she's...” Karin gave Sasuke a look already knowing the answer. “Shit Sasuke! Your family is going to kill her.” “Language Suigetsu!” Karin bonked him on the head and he rubbed the sore spot. “Oh come on! You can't think this is okay? I mean seriously a mermaid and mershark? It's unnatural. You could have any shark in the world Sasuke and you chose her. Even pink hair isn't natural for a mermaid.” “Hey!” Sarada swam up to Suigetsu frowning. “Mama is really pretty!” There! That will teach him and swam back beside her Papa. All whilst the white shark remained quiet, trying to process if that was meant to be a comeback. “She really taught you,” Karin smirked enjoying the baffled look on Suigetsu's face and the sharkling's smugness. “Oi, that wasn’t… don’t encourage her!” 

“I would appreciate it if you didn't insult my daughter's mother.” “Daughter's mother? So you two aren't...” Suigetsu made a motion with his arms and Sasuke twitched resisting the urge to punch him. Not in front of his daughter at least.

“I have no intention of starting such things with her again. You all keep your side of the bargain and I'll keep mine. You leave Sakura and her friends alone and I'll stay away from her.” Now Sarada was even more confused, didn't Papa say he would make it up to Mama or is he lying to protect her again? Gah, adults were so confusing. “Right.” Suigetsu didn't believe it. And neither did the other two, it was clear as day how he still harboured feelings towards the mermaid. Did they understand such feelings? Nope, but he was their friend and they only wanted what was best for him. “But is it really safe to keep her here Sasuke, your family... especially Madara? She wouldn't be safe, not mention Orochimaru.” “Karin's right, what if they find out about this Sakura?” Jugo asked, worried for the little one. She was too innocent for their world. “For now, we're sharing custody, Sarada only has to be here for as long as Sakura allows me. And if they do find out they don't have to know she's Sakura’s. As far as they're concerned she's from a random shark and by then Sarada will be a blood-thirsty-” he turned to look at his daughter only she was nowhere to be seen. Instead, they found her behind him touching a small fish's nose with her claw. “Boop! Now you boop me.” The small fish then booped its nose with hers. All four sweatdropped at the scene. 

“You are both screwed!” Suigetsu muttered, oh yes this plan was foolproof. Jugo was the first to snap out of it swimming and introducing himself to Sarada. The small fish didn't seem frightened either and happily swam around the two. 

“Do you like fishes too Mr Jugo?” Sarada's eyes sparkled with curiosity. “Uhh...” he wasn't sure how to respond without breaking her heart.

She knew it was too risky to swim all the way out here, but Tenten had successfully snuck out and needed to find out the truth. Whatever the Uchiha was hiding, she would get to the bottom of it, Sakura deserved some closure. But how to find such a shark? The Hyuga didn’t seem too happy when she was there last time, she could always pretend to lose her bracelet again if push comes to shove. “Last time we met was here?” She swam looking around. “Or was it here… great now I got myself lost!” And she was talking to herself.

Another bonus.

“Looking for someone?” A voice startled her and she almost threw her shell weapon at him. “Aaaah, don’t startle me!” “What do you want? I’d thought you would have learnt your lesson after last time.” As polite as always. “Neji Hyuga,” Tenten stated as if she didn’t hear what he said before. His eye twitched at such disrespect. “I challenge you to a game.” “A game?” What a ridiculous request. “Yes, if I win you have to answer all my questions. All of them!” “And if I win?”And if he wins… uh she didn’t think this through. “What’s in it for me?” 

What was in it for him? “Uh… I’ll do whatever you want? Including something really embarrassing, anything.” It’s not like she would lose to him anyway. With what Tenten had in mind. The mershark tsked before swimming away.

“Enough, I don't want to indulge and get involved with you.” Go figure. Guess she'll have to hit him where it really hurts. “So, you're afraid to lose?” “You wish.” 

“Hey, that's totally fine. I mean I did beat up four sharks myself when I was in my teens so I can understand why-” “Deal.” He wasn't going to let some mermaid push him about.
