You remembered the events of that day like it was yesterday. You felt off, you felt sick and Talia insisted you stay home. She was always worried about you, mainly because you were the only human one. Both of your sisters and your brother inherited the werewolf trait, but somehow you didn't.
Talia spent a great amount of time focused on you. She kept you by her side for most of the time and grew paranoid quickly. You remember smelling something on fire, and you remember everything around you burning. You were trapped, screaming and crying out for anyone, you could hear the cries of your family.
Laura dragged you out, holding you tightly before holding Derek. The two of them had just come back from school for the day. You had burn marks on your legs and your body.
They never disappeared or faded, instead, they remained a scar. You remember all the times Laura had to rush back to Beacon Hills or rush anywhere in the world. Being the alpha always came with a price. Derek was left to raise you, not that he ever minded. Talia always raised all of you to believe that family was the most important thing in the world, and no bond could ever replace that of a family.
You found yourself standing outside the Hale house, a place where you only saw last when you were barely eight. You were now 14, starting high school. Laura’s body was buried, while you stood in front of it, looking down. There were tears in your eyes as you tried to keep yourself together.
You always tried to hide any of your feelings, you didn't want your siblings or anyone to think you were weak because you were human, but that only made things worse. You taught yourself how to lie to a werewolf and how to hide your emotions.
“What are you doing out here?” you felt Derek’s hand on your shoulder as you jumped, wiping your face.
“Sorry, didn't mean to scare you,” he said.
You shook your head, before wrapping your arms around yourself.
“Have you found any lead on this?” you asked.
“Nothing in specific. But you don't need to worry about this,” Derek always tried to give you a normal life.
“I want to help,” you said.
“And I said no. Go to school.” you sighed, before nodding your head.
You sat in the car, putting your headphones on before he started driving.
---
“You can’t just go turning my friends into werewolves!” you tried to hold back your tears as you yelled at Derek.
“I know you’re upset, but-”
“I’m more than upset, Derek! Y-You always try to keep me out of all this supernatural crap, then you turn the only people that have even talked to me into werewolves!” you yelled.
“(Y/N), I told Isaac the truth about everything, and in the end, he made his decision. He was in a bad situation at home, and he wanted a change. I just helped him,” Derek kept his voice calm as you ran your fingers through your hair, frustrated.
Your heart was beating quickly, before you paused, feeling some sense of pain take over you. You felt like your heart was being ripped repeatedly from your chest as you found it hard to breathe.
“(Y/N),” Derek put his hand on your shoulder, looking at you worriedly as you tried to breathe.
“I-It hurts,” you cried shakily.
“Hold on,” he put his arms around you tightly, running to the hospital.
---
“It’s called Coronary artery disease. Our dad had it,” you looked down at the sheets of your bed, while Derek paced around your room.
“How do we heal it?” he asked.
“There’s no cure,” your eyes watered slightly before you wiped the tears away.
“Well what about medication?” he asked.
“Derek…” your voice was shaky as you looked up to him.
“Even with treatment, most people don't survive past the age of twenty. Dad was the exception,”  you said.
“How come there weren't any symptoms? Things like this don't just happen,” he said.
“Sometimes there are no symptoms, and even if there were… with everything going on I would’ve been too stressed to notice,” you said.
He sighed deeply, before walking next to you, holding your hand.
“We’re going to get through this,” he said softly.
“I don't understand why you can't just give me the bite,” you sniffled.
“(Y/N),” he started.
“All of this would go away if I was a werewolf,” you pointed out.
“I don't understand what's… (Y/N) if you’re already weak, the bite can kill you,” Derek started.
You shook your head, pulling your hand away from him.
“I’m not weak,” you spat.
“I didn't mean like that,” he said.
“Just go. Don’t you have to train Isaac or something? There's a full moon tonight,” you said.
“Yeah… get some rest,” he gave you a small hug, while you kept your gaze off of him. You knew he was giving you a pitiful look before he walked out of your room.
---
Your condition only got worse over the past few months. Your body was in pain anytime you tried to do anything. You always tried your hardest to keep it from Derek, but he could smell it, and so could Scott.
“(Y/N)!” Derek put his hands on either sides of your shoulders while you jumped, looking at him fearfully.
“Derek, it’s like 6 in the morning. What do you want?!” you whisper-yelled.
“(Y/N/N) just come downstairs with me. I have a surprise for you,” he said.
You sighed, before nodding, getting out of your bed.
You followed him downstairs as he held your hand. You froze, taking the last step from the stairs as you saw a woman pacing around in front of you.
“Cora,” your voice broke as her head shot up.
“Oh my god,” she ran to you, wrapping her arms around you tightly as you let out a shaky breath, before burying your head into her arms.
“I missed you so much,” she said softly.
“I-I missed you too. Where have you been? How are you here?” you began to bombard her with questions as she laughed softly, walking with you to the couch.
“Okay, here’s everything…”
---
You would never admit to anyone that you were scared to die. Everyone in your life was a werewolf, except for your dad. But you barely remembered him. You were only a baby when he passed.
Supernatural heaven and hell were much different from human heaven and hell, and you didn't know what to expect. You would want your family with you more than anything but you knew that wasn't going to be possible.
“What the hell is wrong with you?!” you exhaled shakily, while Derek continuously yelled at you.
You sat on the couch of the loft, your arms wrapped around yourself. You were freezing, your chest was aching, it felt like burning.
You kept your eyes on the floor, your tears at bay as Derek paced around.
“I cannot stress how unbelievably stupid you were,” you held in a wince, closing your eyes.
“I just wanted to help,” your voice was low, barely half of what it was.
You, Scott, and Stiles searched for the Nemeton, unable to find it. Deaton pointed out that one of the only ways it would be able to be found was for the three of you to sacrifice yourselves in place of Chris Argent, Melissa McCall, and Noah Stilinski.
It only made your condition worse. The pain intensified.
“You could have died, (Y/N),” he shouted.
“So what if I died?!” you yelled back, taking him by surprise.
“At least I would have done something when I died! I-Instead of being useless and weak I would have had a purpose!” you let your tears fall freely as you took a deep breath, rubbing your fingers through your hair frustratedly.
“You don't understand how it feels like to be the only human in a family of werewolves. You all have these powers and you all save people and help people. Everyone treats me and looks at me like I’m made of glass, like I can't do anything and I hate it. Our family died and I was trapped. I couldn't save any of them and Laura ended up dragging my ass out of the fire. She went around the country saving people and helping people. Y-You’re an alpha, Derek. You saved people, you saved Isaac. Everyone here relies on you to save them. Cora is… she always fights and she’s strong and she doesn't have all these stupid problems that makes it hard for her to even breathe,” you stopped yourself, sitting back on the couch before you wrapped your arms around your legs, putting your head on your legs as you curled up into a ball, shaking slightly.
You cried softly, while you felt Derek sit next to you, wrapping his arms around you.
“The reason I’m crazy protective over you is because you mean the world to me and Cora and we don't know what we’d do without you. Why didn't you tell me you were feeling like this?” he asked softly.
You shrugged, before resting your head on his shoulder.
“I’m tired,” your voice broke as he caressed your arm.
He kept holding you, while you laid in his lap. You closed your eyes, letting out a shaky breath as you fell asleep.
---
You began to fight, and you began to care what was happening to you. You started taking your medications, and you tried to keep as safe as you could. But it always felt like you were running the last stretch of your life, and things got much worse after they started getting better.
You were now 19, Derek decided that he wanted a break from going on missions and being a wolf. You left Beacon Hills with him, the two of you going around the country and seeing wonderful things. Occasionally he would let you help with small missions.
Everything seemed to be peaceful, everything was calm. You had an amazing time with Derek, you watched him get married to Braeden. You were more than happy to have her in your life.
“Cora sends her love,” Derek handed you an envelope from your older sister, while you frowned, opening it.
She sent you a picture of her with her new girlfriend. The two of them were in South America, and you saw a small caption.
I said yes
You let out a small laugh, smiling in joy at the card.
“When’s the wedding? Did she send a postcard instead of an actual letter?” you laughed.
“Yeah, you know how she is. The wedding is in January,” your smile fell slightly, while you nodded your head.
“Hey, you’re going to make it to that wedding,” he said, putting his hand on your shoulder.
“Yeah, I know. Come on, Braeden said that you guys have a date night,” you pulled on his arm as he sighed.
“If you need anything, call me, okay?” Derek said.
You nodded softly, a small smile on your face before you sat on your bed, turning on the TV.
---
“Why aren't you fighting anymore?” you heard Derek’s voice break as he held your hand tightly.
Cora stood on the other side of you, stroking your cheek.
“I’ve been fighting for years. It’s okay, Derek,” you said softly.
“No, it's not,” you heard Cora say.
“I’ve done everything I wanted to do,” you said.
And it was true. You watched both of your siblings get married, you watched them both start families. You saved people, and you knew you weren't alone. Not now and definitely not when you die. Everything would be okay.
“I don't want to lose you,” Derek said softly.
You stroked his cheek softly, feeling a tear slip down your face.
“If I’m ready to move on then you should be too,” you said.
“I love you guys,” you cried softly.
The two of them held your hands tightly, while you closed your eyes.
You let out a small exhale, letting go.
“We love you too, (Y/N),” Derek said softly.
Your body went limp, the tears falling down both of their faces as they looked down at your lifeless body.
“We love you.”

Mineta Being Disrespectful to (Y/N) HC Bakugou/Shinsou/Kirishima/Mirio
Tumblr media
Katsuki Bakugou:
Tumblr media
Bakugou is a very protective Of you
He loves everything about you like your skin regimen, your hair regimen, and everything you do to take care of yourself.
His secret guilty pleasure is doing facial routines with you and washing your hair. Don’t tell the other students shhh!
He also loves your taste in music, your taste in fashion, he also loves when you dance when you “think” you’re alone.
He also truly loves when you stand your ground against him and his crappy attitude. You shut everything down telling him that you are not the one to be a messed with, and tell him to check his attitude.
You are his queen, and a King should always protect his Queen.
So he basically walks with you everywhere, you only get your alone time when he’s off training.
When he walks with you, he holds your hand and he’s always close to you so other males realize that you are with him. He gives them glares, warning them and basically telling them “Don’t even try it.”
It seems like a Certain purple hair short monster didn’t get the picture.
When Mineta Approached you two in the hallway with a cocky smirk, you and Bakugou realize that you were about to hear some very offensive shit.
“Hey you Beautiful Curvy, Black, ThunderBolt! You know what they say: the blacker the berry, the sweeter the juice. Can I get the chance to test that theory?”
Your Face was in pure disgust.
(You know like in Anime their eyes are shadowed over and your lips were a straight line as the background is like a dark blue lol)
Like everything he said to you was so disrespectful that you couldn’t even think of a comeback.
Bakugou grabbed Mineta by the collar of his shirt and pulled him up to the level of his raging eyes.
“Why you 3ft little ingrate! Apologize!!!! Do it now or I will regret the day you were born!” Bakugou threatened.
Mineta, who was shaking in fear, begged for his life and pleaded to the blonde to not unleash his explosive wrath on him.
“Mineta.” You started. “If you ever step to me with that weak ass game or any other game you like to play, I will step on you neck as I pull out your purple orbs until you’re bleeding and probably won’t stop after. Do you hear me you sorry excuse for a hero?!”
Bakugou stared with wide, proud eyes at you. He never seen you like this, and he have to say that he loved it. The whimper that Mineta gave snapped the Blonde back to reality.
Bakugou slammed Mineta against the lockers, giving him the same glare that he gave earlier. “I still didn’t hear an apology.”
Mineta apologized repeatedly, but Bakugou’s grip only got tighter around the grape student. Upset that Mineta KNOWS you to are the rice and still tried to shoot his shot.
“Listen here you little failure of a human, you know (Y/N) are together and you still came up to her flirting. I can’t stand a lot of things you do but what I really hate is the fact that you had thee AUDACITY To do try. If you try this again, Class A will have 1 less student. Got it?!”
Mineta fearfully nodded before Bakugou rolled his ass down the hall like he was a bowling ball. Adding a tiny explosion for extra push.
“I’m so sorry Teddybear..” Bakugou sighed to you. “Don’t apologize Babe, you did nothing but protected me. Thank you for making that runt apologize to me.” You said.
“No problem, but that can we talk about that sexy, angry, dark side of you? I never seen that side of you and I wanna know have I been rubbing off on you?” Bakugou smirked.
You chuckled as you rolled your eyes, you lightly pushed him off you and started heading to lunch.
Hitoshi Shinsou:
Tumblr media
Shinsou has always been the laid back type, pretty chill and tamed. Like it’s kinda hard to piss him off.
But if you do want to piss him off, there are a few ways to do so.
Call him a villain because of his quirk. He hates when people misunderstand him and don’t want to try to understand, he will be highly pissed off.
And mess his beautiful (Y/N) A.K.A his Kitty Kat. He treasures the hell out of you, you’re his sunlight to his gloomy days. His sulking lessened when he met you.
He loves laying on your chest as you play in his hair. He loves to hear your heartbeat, he loves how soft and warm you feel. You’re like a dream to him, and hearing your heartbeat makes him realize you’re real.
His favorite pastime with you is letting you braid his hair as you two chat. He feel so lucky to have you.
So imagine how he felt when he was walking to meet you at your locker, and saw you and Mina there, looking creeped out by the short purple pervert.
“How you doing today you nesquik milky chocolate queen?” He said with such a cocky smile. Did he really think that was appropriate?
You and Mina scoffed and rolled your eyes. “Mineta, you better run.” Mina said as she saw your Boyfriend standing there.
Shinsou stood there with a death glare, fist cleaning hard, he was trying so hard not commit murder. How dare he say those to you, his Kitty Kay?! Oh he’s gonna pay.
“Hey Mineta, How’s your day?” Shinsou said in a happy voice.
“Oh it’s going-”
Got him.
“Beat yourself up.” Shinsou command.
While the graped fucker beat himself, and Mina watched and laughed. Shinsou came up to you, putting his arm around your waist, pulling you close. “Are you alright?” Shinsou asked you.
“Yeah, but I think you should stop him before he beat himself into a coma.” You said. “He’ll deserve it.” He said. “Agreed.” Mina said.
“Babe.” You said looking at him, he groaned. “Apologize to (Y/N).” Shinsou demanded Mineta.
“I apologize (Y/N).” Mineta said. “Punch yourself one more time.” Shinsou ordered with a smirk on his face. When the bell rang, Shinsou released his quirk.
Mineta was groaning in pain, Shinsou bent down to his eye level, and looked him dead in his swollen eyes.
His glare was scary, and cold. “Don’t you ever approach my girlfriend like that ever again if you want to continue breathing. Got that Grape Shrimp?” He muffed him then walked back towards you.
“I see I’m going to have to escort you to classes with this grape menace running around.” Shinsou said
“Shinsou that was funny! Can I get you to do that to some people for me?” Mina asked as she walked away with you two
Eijirou Kirishima:
Tumblr media
Just like Shinsou, He’s kinda hard to piss off. I mean just look at him! He’s always smiling. (Oh smiley Magee head ass! Ik I love Kiri.)
You and Kirishima was close, meaning you two had feelings that either one of you were afraid to admit. So y’all hang out a lot because y’all like being around each other.
He loves when he listens to your music. You always have the greatest songs from Beyoncé to Chance the Rapper.
Whenever you pass him in the halls or around the dorms, he’ll pause his conversation or whatever he’s doing to come talk to you
And you, always loved talking to him. You loved his fangs whenever he smiled. You two would shyly flirt and talk to each other, you can basically hear Bakugou’s eye rolls.
“JUST FUCKING ASK HER, YA’ PUSSY!” Bakugou yelled from behind. He was tired of Kirishima talking about asking you out but never had the guts to do so.
“Ignore him, so I was wondering-”
Then Mineta came up to ruin this beautiful conversation, like he literally came out of no where.
“Excuse me Kirishima but I have something to say to (Y/N). How you doing, you Hershey Kiss beauty?”
Oh no he didn’t.
“Boy you better come correct when it comes to me!” You held your hand up, about to slap him when Kirishima stopped you.
“Mineta, I’ve put up with your constant creepy hook up line but I refuse for you to hit on (Y/N) like that. It’s not manly at all! Now apologize to (Y/N)!”
“Or what? You’re going to hit me? That’s not like you. That wouldn’t be manly now would it?” Mineta mocked.
That hit a nerve for Kirishima, he took in a deep breath, looked at Bakugou, and signaled him to come over.
“Apologize or Else.” Kirishima said. Mineta, who is unaware of Bakugou being behind him, folded his arms and refused. “Or else what?”
“Or else I’m gonna stomp you into the ground and create grape jelly out of you. You fucking short creepy fuck.” Bakugou said as tiny explosions popped from his hands.
Mineta stood frozen, looking between the three of you guys terrified. “Well, She’s waiting.” Kirishima said.
“That’s not fair! She’s not even your girlfriend!” Mineta whined.
“She is now, and she still hasn’t got her apology!” Kirishima said pulling you close. Butterflies are just flapping in your stomach as he held you in such a protective and claiming way.
“B-But.” Mineta tried.
“Bakugou…” Kirishima said, ready to send his feral friend onto the Grape Trash.
“Fine! Fine! I’m so sorry (Y/N)! I will never do it again! Please don’t send Bakugou on me!” Mineta begged.
“(Y/N) do you accept?” Kirishima asked. Kirishima will sick Bakugou on him If you didn’t.
“I do, but I still want Bakugou to beat him up.” You said. Bakugou smiled wickedly as he started his attack on Mineta.
You and Kirishima started walking away, and you looked at the red head with a cheeky smirk. “So, where we going on our first date since we’re a couple now.”
Kirishima blushed hard, tripping on words, he rubbed the back of his neck. You thought it was so cute. You grabbed his hand, “Don’t worry, I’ll pick the date.”
“No, I’m the guy. So I should show you an amazing time. I think I already know a place.” Kirishima said grabbing your other hand.
Mirio Togata:
Tumblr media
The most powerful student in the school.
And he is your boyfriend. And the Best and sweetest boyfriend you could ask for!
Just like Kiri, he’s Smiley Magee! But because he’s so positive, I don’t see him getting angry…
More like Stern seriousness, and when he’s like that, you better take him seriously.
You and him have this game y’all play. Where he pops in randomly, through a wall, ceiling, floor, door to drop some words you probably need to hear.
He isn’t a stalker with it, it doesn’t bother. You think it’s fun, trying to predict where’s he’s going to come from.
He loves popping in on your down time when you just relaxing and being natural. Popping in when you’re watching a movie or tutorials. Helping you learn, while learning himself.
He is a master at putting on False eyelashes and he loves brushing your hair as you talk about your day.
He never invade your space and you get particularly bored when he’s not around. Be looking around, hoping he pops up.
Anyways, back to main thing. You think as a 3rd, certain first years wouldn’t have the balls to talk to you. But One Small Menace thought otherwise.
Here we have Minoru Mineta, trying to shoot his shot with you, not realizing it never even made it in the basket. Especially with the disrespectful pick up line he opened with.
You and your girls were stretching in the yard and when Mineta and Dennis came up to you girls. “ How you are doing! My black thunder beauty?”
You face went complete stale, even his friend knew that wasn’t a way you talk to you or any female period. And he thought he was cute with the nickname because your quirk is Sonic Thunder.
Next thing you know, you see a strong hand come from the ground and grabbed Mineta by the leg. You smiled, you knew that hand! Then instantly, Mirio pops up from the ground like a fucking daisy!
“Is this seriously how you talk to women? Also, you do know (Y/N) is my Girlfriend right?” Mirio asked as he held Mineta by the leg. Mineta started babbling and begging to be put down.
“I don’t like what you said to her, and I suggest you apologize before it really becomes a problem.” Mirio threatened. Then out a small bit of smite, he shook the little shrimp a couple of times.
“I-I-I’m sorry (Y/N)! I never meant to offend you! And please tell him to put me down!” Mineta begged you. You and Mirio had playful smirks on your faces. You two tortured him for a couple more minutes by shaking him, making him dizzy.
“Alright Miri, let the little shrimp go. I think he learned his lesson.” You smirked. As Mirio dropped him, Mineta was a bit Dizzy.
You thwacked him on the head, for your payback. It knocked him down, but not out. So he could still listen.
“You should never approach someone like that ever again, that is somebody’s daughter, somebody’s sister! Treat them like they are humans.” Mirio told him.
You and your friends got up and surrounded Mirio, thanking him. Then you wrapped your arms around him, planting a kiss on his lips, making him blush bashfully.
“You girls wanna hit up a restaurant? I’m pretty sure you want to forget this just happened.” Mirio asked once he cleared his throat, he had to regain strength because you make him so weak.
“Now you know I love me some food!” You beamed to him, he grabbed your hand, smiling back at you as you start telling him how much you missed him.

To Hell and Back
Chapter 18
Summary: Xisuma, Doc, Tango, Wels, and Evil X plan go to see Beef and try to figure out what the heck is going on. Also, for some reason, Xisuma’s a little more aggressive than any of them anticipated, even Doc.
Characters: Xisuma, Doc, Tango, Wels, Evil X, and Beef mention.
TW: A bit of violence in this chapter, mostly just punches to the face.
———————
The sight in front of Ex was….disturbing, for lack of a better word.
“Wels, what on Earth….” he thought aloud. The knight barely spared him a glance, too busy ignoring him while he caught his breath. Ex stepped aside from Wels and went to see who the other figure was.
The counterpart knew the knight to be one of the better behaved Hermits. He usually didn’t get too involved in a whole lot of mischief, at least not while Evil X lived there. To be honest, he didn’t visit Wels often. Only once or twice a few weeks back to ask about what Hels was like which the knight was all too happy to lay some dirt on him.
He was getting sidetracked again, like usual. He peered over and unsurprisingly to Ex, but still a horrid sight, was Tango laying in a fetal position with a very visibly broken elytra and it looked as if someone took a bat to his face repeatedly. He gasped at what’d happened but that only made him more fearful for what was going to happen next.
He snapped his gaze to Wels, taking a few steps away from him. He didn’t look like he planned to really kill anyone, Ex knew what that looked like from Hels. But still, he looked back and forth between the two, not wanting to be threatened. He had one life and Ex didn't plan on losing it now.
Though, his thoughts were interrupted by Wels exhaling shakily alongside a small whimper. “Tango….“ he muttered. He shot his head towards Ex fearfully. “I- I don’t know what happened!”
The knight only kept stammering while the counterpart fumbled to pull out his communicator. The last thing he wanted to do now was provoke the other into attacking again so with haste he contacted Xisuma. Wels only panicked further at the action.
“Did I do this?!” While Wels gestured, his eyes landed on the blade of the sword, dripping with an ugly crimson. They widened. “Oh, that’s….bad….”. He kept staring at it with worry. “That must’ve been what Beef meant,” he muttered to himself.
Ex sighed through his nose, the noise coming out more distorted thanks to his helmet. He glanced at Wels with concern, though the knight didn’t see more than his eyes that just looked like growling red orbs. “Well, at least you know what’s going on now.” As he pressed the send button, the knight stared helplessly.
Wels began flipping through ways to get out of this in his head. He could fly away and avoid confrontation. But he wasn’t a good flyer, nor a fast one, and Ex could probably catch up with him and slow him down just enough to never make it more than a hundred feet away from the building. Even then, having to discuss what’d happened was inevitable.
But why was he thinking of ways to escape it? He was a knight, he could take it for crying out loud. Besides, this was serious. Wels had no memory of what he did to Tango, nor did he really want to remember. He turned to the suffering demon and guilt flooded his brain. That was a one way ticket to no more trust if Wells knew anything about the topic. Though, knowing Tango, the demon probably knew it wasn’t Wels.
Maybe.
While Wels thought, Ex moved to check on Tango. The poor demon, despite his mostly unconscious state, still looked terrified and flinched away from Ex’s touch.
“Just me, can you hear me?” Weakly, Tango nodded with just barely a noise of confirmation. “Alright then. Well, I might as well kill you since you can respawn without all the damage.” The demon whined at the thought but again, nodded. Pulling out his own sword, Ex made sure to make it a quick process. One good deep stab later and Tango was no more than a puff of red smoke that dissipated into the air.
Getting up from his kneeling position, he turned to Wels who was surprisingly still where he was when Ex turned away. Good, at least he won’t kill him. That’s one less thing to worry about. With the buzz of his communicator, he pulled it from his pocket.
“Xisuma and Doc will be here in a couple minutes. They said I need to take all of your weapons and armor.”
Wordlessly, and to Ex’s full gratitude, Wels followed the directions. He didn’t have more than his tools to deal any real damage but he gave the evil hermit his elytra as well. There wasn’t much he was gonna get away with if he somehow tried anything else. He wasn’t even sure what’d happened before he was witnessing his friend bleeding on the ground. Once second, he was hugging Tango, the next minute, he was a few feet away from him with a bloody sword in hand.
Interrupted from his thoughts, he turned to the sound of more pairs of flapping wings. Like Evil Xisuma said, Xisuma and Doc landed at the edge of the roof, the creeper holding thick loops of rope and both in fully enchanted diamond armor. The two approached him slowly and hesitantly and that only made his stomach churn.
They had good reason though, he knew. If one of his friends did that to him, he’d be a little bit fearful, too.
“I’m not going to hurt anyone,” Wels bluntly stated. He ducked his head shamefully. “I don’t even know what happened.”
“Where’s Tango?” Xisuma asked. He didn’t reach for his sword, not yet. A glare from him was pointed towards Wels but he spoke softer than the knight would’ve expected, given the current situation.
“Evil Xisuma killed him,” he replied, not really meaning to make Evil X sound bad, but at least he was honest about it. The admin shot his head towards his counterpart who raised his hands in defense.
“He was seconds away from dying! I didn’t want him laying in his own blood!” Ex crossed his arms and glared at the knight as well. “Don’t try to pin this on me.”
With a huff, Xisuma turned his attention back to Doc. “Doc, tie him up, we’ll bring him to Beef and figure out what’s going on. Ex, go find Tango.” The admin was very uncharacteristically serious, but everyone in the little group knew for good reason, even Wels. Xisuma had the right to be angry at him.
Though technically, Xisuma didn’t know what Wels did in the first place. But he must’ve had a talk with Doc during the flight over and whatever Ex said on his communicator to bring them here might’ve played a part in it. Wels suddenly became curious about it. He hoped it wasn’t anything too harsh about him. Though, knowing Evil X, it probably was.
Doc took the rope and tied it around his arms a little too tight than what he would’ve liked. Around the wrists the ropes went and he was no longer able to move freely. Well, except for his legs but what was he going to do, jump off the building?
He would respawn though, and without the ropes. He could grab his gear and spare elytra and fly off and hide and kill whoever tried to come back at him.
Wels shook his head with a sad grimace, much to both Doc and Xisuma’s curiosity. Why was he thinking about escape plans? Killing the Hermits when they just wanted to be safe? The two eyed him carefully while his wrists dug around in the rope, not to much of his own knowledge. But slowly, darkness edged his vision.
Okay that definitely wasn’t right.
“Don’t be trying to escape now,” the admin grumbled.
Wels sighed. “I can’t help it.” He turned his head to Xisuma with a glare, the more aggressive side of himself reaching his actions once more. He squirmed harder and Doc grabbed his arms forcefully. “Don’t you think if you were tied up, you’d be trying to escape, too?”
Despite his initial annoyance, Xisuma sighed as well. “I would,” he stated quietly. Wels continued to thrash but to no avail. He stopped to catch his breath.
“Can’t believe I gave my sword to that annoying little bastard of a brother.” He snickered at the insult, making both men worry at the sudden aggression. Though, Xisuma’s worry dissipated at the insult to his brother and Wels was met with a gloved fist to his cheek.
He stepped right up to the knight’s face, Doc now wondering if it was such a good idea to have Xisuma here. Though, he wasn’t usually this aggressive, even to the Hermits, even if they were under control that wasn’t theirs. And even if they killed their friends with no actual reason than that they were angry at them. That in itself was worrying him, personally.
“Jeez Xisuma, calm down,” the creeper muttered.
The admin ignored his requests. “If you’ve got something to say you say it about me, understand?”
As Wels looked up again, Xisuma was met with red eyes and slitted pupils. He licked at his teeth with a grin, laughing while Xisuma stumbled backwards at the sight.
The knight fell to a chuckle, almost sounding like a growl. “Oh, I’ll keep that in mind you dense piece of shi-“
“We’re back!”
The trio turned to see Ex and Tango landing at the other edge of the rooftop, the demon following the counterpart slowly behind and also in fully enchanted diamond armor. He made a personal note not to meet Wels’s eyes. The knight snorted.
“Awe, what’s wrong Tango? Don’t wanna look at little ol’ me?” His slitted pupils thinned and thickened repeatedly to emphasize his question. “For a demon you’re one of the biggest cowards I’ve ever met. And I’ve met Ex, over here.” Again, the admin threw a punch at him.
“XISUMA!” The other three yelled.
“Keep talking and I’ll make you shut up myself.” Wels glared at him and Xisuma did just the same. “Go on, keep going.”
Again, Wels laughed, licking the inside of his cheek on the other side of the new growing bruise. “What are you gonna do, ban me? You’d never ban me, would you, Xisuma? I’m one of your best fr-“
“ARGH YOU-“ Xisuma pulled his arm back to prepare another punch but Ex caught his hand and held it there, moving to pull Xisuma away from Wels while the knight laughed.
“Xisuma, stop! You’re hurting him!” Ex turned his brother to face him. “That’s not Wels, Xisuma.” The counterpart looked towards Doc. “Just put something in his mouth, would ya?”
Tango approached the brothers. “X, are you sure you wanna go there too? What is with you today?!”
Xisuma sighed in Ex’s grip defeatedly, not feeling like answering Tango’s question. Doc waited for his instructions, Ex waited for him to be well enough to let go of, Tango was too visibly worried, and Wels just made his mind spiral. The spiraling apparently was a little too literal whough when the admin fell forwards a bit against his counterpart in a daze.
Well that wasn’t what he intended to do to figure this out.
Doc grimaced but took charge anyways to save Xisuma the trouble. Pulling Wels into one arm, he pulled some will from his inventory, just happening to be there from earlier projects and stuffed it into the knight’s mouth. He put Wels on the ground, keeping him there with his knee while the other squirmed. Grabbing another piece of wool, he tied around Wels’s face to hold it in there. Swiftly, he pulled him from the floor and the knight quickly fell silent when only garbled words came out from behind the cloth. He growled at all of them.
The creeper decided he would bring Wels to Beef, and Tango and Ex would make sure Xisuma was okay, seeing as he hadn’t left his odd daze. With the OK from the other two, Doc lifted off with the knight slung over his shoulder.
Tango and Ex, on the other hand, were not so confident.
“Suma, you alright, man?” asked Tango.
“Need to sit…” the admin mumbled. In seconds, the three were sitting on the roof. “Jus’ overwhelmed is all,” he added.
Tango patted him on the back lightly. “Alright, just making sure.”
They let a few seconds pass, giving the admin some space to think and breathe. “I hit him.” Xisuma said suddenly, balling his hands into fists in frustration. “I hit him, guys. I hit him because he wasn’t himself.”
Tango scoffed, recalling his chase earlier with Wels. “He honestly deserved that,” he replied instinctively. Though he really hadn’t meant it but he was certainly angry about it.
Xisuma sat up quickly. “He did not! He had no control over that!”
The demon rolled his eyes. “How do you know that?! He’s been fishy all day! Nobody heard from him for days and I pestered him to come over with trades! He came over because I said I had iron!”
Xisuma was about to say more but he realized that he really wasn’t aware of what was happening in the first place before now and he really couldn’t assume he knew what was going on. He sighed. “I didn’t-“
The demon gestured wildly as he spoke, interrupting him. “And when he came he set up the worst trades and threatened to kill me when I said they were bad trades! And then proceeded to try to kill me!”
“Tango!” The demon stopped. “I didn’t know. I’m sorry for assuming I’m just- argh!” It seemed as if the admin was going to pull out his hair but he was met with the thick metal of the helmet. He pulled on that instead much to their concern. “I’m sorry, I didn’t know, but that wasn’t him. And I just….don’t want to lose him, guys. I want him to get help. I don’t know what’s been happening or what will happen but I can’t afford to lose more Hermits.”
Xisuma must’ve started talking to himself at the last sentence, more or less to reassure himself. Tango glanced at Ex who shared the same concerned expression. To keep him from being further overwhelmed, they nodded at each other to wordlessly agree to not ask about it. Though, it seemed obvious by briefly widened eyes behind his visor that he realized what he had said. But with their wordless reactions, he decided not to continue.
Tango pulled Xisuma’s hands away from his helmet gently and held them in his lap. “It’ll be alright. He’ll get better.” Really, the demon should’ve apologized himself but he let it be. He squeezed the admin’s hands to reassure him further and Xisuma squeezed back as well. To his right, Ex gave him a half hug, to which Xisuma smiled softly at.
He then remembered that Doc needed their assistance.
“Okay,” he exhaled. “Let’s go help them then.”

"Hey, Ellie?" Lil called out as they were walking into their kitchen.
"Hi, Lil, what's up?" Ellie asked as she put another bowl into the dishwasher.
"Wondering if I can help you."
Ellie looked out at the others sitting around Lil's living room table, yelling at the board game.
"Had enough of that?" She asked pointing to the chaos.
Lil didn't even bother nodding, they just continued to stare at Ellie who eventually smiled in return.
"Well, you can help me decorate because that's the last thing to do at this point."
"I'm not good at cake decorating."
"You don't need to be with the yule log actually. Wash your hands real quick and then you can help."
Lil quickly did as they were told and then stood next to Ellie, grateful to be in the room with the person closest to them in height. They for once didn't have to look up when she was talking.
"Ok, so the cake and the ganache are both cool enough to work with now, so you just need to slap it on top and then use this offset spatula to spread it around, ok."
Lil took the spatula, once again amazed that such a thing existed, and then did as Ellie said. Ellie smiled at them before going to the refrigerator and grabbing the tupperware bowl of meringue mushrooms she had made earlier in the day. She set it down on the island next to Lil before grabbing the small bowl she used for melting chocolate.
The melted mixed chocolate would be amazing with the decadence of the meringue. The milk chocolate would add a touch of sweetness to compliment the high percentage dark chocolate pieces, keeping it all from being overly sweet. Something everyone but Lil would notice.
"What are these?" Lil asked holding a white meringue cap in their fingers.
"Meringue mushroom. Or they will be once I put them together anyway."
"Both?"
"Yep, I made normal meringue and chocolate meringue for it. I like the look of both together, makes them look more like mushroom clusters to me."
Lil didn't say anything and instead just stood, waiting for Ellie to give them more instruction. She handed a fork over before pulling her melted chocolate from the microwave and sitting across from Lil at the island.
"Ok, now you just take the fork and make a bunch of lines thru the frosting. Then we have bark on the log."
Lil made an affirmative noise before doing as they were told. Ellie quickly worked thru the meringue mushrooms, attaching the stems to caps with a bit of the chocolate and setting them aside. Soon the two were done and then they went about adding the mushrooms to various spots on the log.
"This looks good," Lil said when they were done.
"It does. Now we just add a few cherries and raspberries and then a bit of powdered sugar on top and it's finished. It will probably need to cool in the fridge for a bit before-"
"FUCK YOUR MONOPOLY!"
Ellie and Lil turned to look at Melvin beginning his tirade, Maya sitting there looking smug. Why anyone went with her idea to play Bankrupt or Billionaire, no one knew but Melvin sure was suffering from the sounds of it.
"Well, let's finish decorating before Maya's fat head knocks your condo down 3 floors."
"I hear the ground floor units have cheaper rent anyway." Lil joked in response.
Ellie snickered at the remark before starting to pour some powdered sugar into the sugar shaker. Lil grabbed the container of bright red fruit from the fridge and handed it over. Working together they easily decorated the cake, Lil placed cherries underneath some of the mushroom clusters while Ellie had placed a few raspberries along the bottom.
Ellie then showed Lil how to put the powdered sugar on top with a shaker. They told her that their parents had always used the mesh strainer to do this part and was a little amazed at the shaker. Lil was constantly surprised at the gadgets that existed to help around the kitchen.
Altogether the yule log looked amazing and Lil salivated at the thought of getting a slice.
"NO FUCKING WAY!"
"THAT'S WHAT YOU GET, YOU FUCKING WHORE!"
"Say it again you little bitch! I'll knock you so hard you might get smart."
"You wanna go?"
"KNOCK! It off you two!" Sheb yelled and then lowered her voice. Most likely trying to get their attention without causing any more noise, for all the good it did her.
Ellie shook her head before turning back to Lil who was doing much the same. They shared a laugh before putting the cake in the freezer to chill for a while.
"Now we do the cleanup and by the time we're done it should be set."
"Cool."
The two listened to the incessant yelling of the others, Melvin and Maya ranting at each other, Sheb yelling at them to calm down and Delphon yelling at Melvin for trying to jump over the table. The normal sounds of family board game night when Maya was allowed to pick the game.
If the games didn't end with Lil winning with skill, or Delphon winning out of luck, then Maya won out of a slow and agonizing torture spree that drove the others to dramatic deaths.
It didn't take long for Lil and Ellie to clean up everything as they worked together. Ellie rinsed the bowls out, giving the melted chocolate one a quick scrub, before stacking them into the dishwasher. While Lil cleaned off the island and wiped the countertops down before getting out the plates and silverware.
"Game up!" Lil called, from the safety of the kitchen still. They hoped the others would at least put the board game away. Maybe they would all have to eat their cake around the pieces and possibly bloodshed if Melvin got out of Delphon's grip.
Ellie set the knife on the counter and told Lil to come back in for it after they set the plates down. She would bring in the cake after she took pictures of it for her social media. She quickly snapped a few, listening to Lil kick the game off the table so they could put the plates down, before grabbing the tray. Lil passed her as they came back into the kitchen, careful not to bump into the tray she was holding.
Sheb was in the games cabinet, most likely putting the game up while Delphon was sitting on the couch, looking far more exhausted than Ellie had ever seen before. Maya and Melvin were standing, arguing about who the real winner was in light of the game ending early.
"I was the winner, you wannabe punk, get over it," Maya said, giving him a push.
Melvin gave a push back, not seeing Delphon's legs were right behind Maya and Ellie knew what would happen before she could stop it. She twisted somewhat, hoping the cake would survive but as Maya fell back on top of her, Delphon reaching out to catch her and Melvin staring in shock, she knew the yule log was done for.
The two hit the floor with a thud and the cake hit the carpet with a splat.
"Oh my god, are you two ok?" Melvin asked as Delphon moved to pull Maya up.
"Yeah, I'm ok." She told them, letting Delphon manhandle her over to the sofa. "Ellie, you ok?"
When Ellie didn't answer Delphon quickly knelt down and looked to see if she was ok, constantly calling her name. Ellie laid there on Lil's plush carpet just staring at the remains of her hard work. The last 4 and a half hours of her life sat in a mess all along the carpet.
"Oh shit," Melvin said when he noticed.
"Come on Ellie, let's get you up," Delphon said, all but picking her up like a parent does a sleeping child, before setting her down on the couch near Maya.
"Well, that's bad," Sheb said, a bit of worry in her voice.
"You're telling me," Melvin grumbled, running a hand through his hair. "I hate cleaning Lil's carpet."
"I meant Lil, actually," Sheb whispered fearfully.
Everyone but Ellie turned to look at the kitchen's archway and saw Lil standing there, the large cake knife in their hand.
"Oh fuck."
"Lillen, let's put the knife back down," Del said, slowly approaching them. Hoping to convince them with his words or stop them from using it in the worst-case scenario.
Maya stood and walked behind him, trying to apologize while also using Del as a shield between her and Lil. She told them that she would go out right now and buy whatever dessert Lil wanted, as an apology and a replacement. Hearing those words made Ellie see red.
How dare Maya think she could just replace 4 hours of work! How dare she think any other dessert would be comparable to her fantastic if not damn near perfect brandy yule log! How dare she think she could just replace the fucking meringue mushrooms!
Before she could stop herself, Ellie grabbed one of the large and decorative throw pillows and hit Maya in the head as hard as she could, sending the other woman falling to the couch with a shout. Before Maya could say anything Ellie was beating her with the pillow, repeatedly hitting her and hitting her and hitting her. Maya all the while yelling at her to stop.
"That fucking hurts!"
"Well, it should! I spent 4 hours on that cake Maya Thornridge! 4 hours!"
"I'm sorry!"
"I used good brandy in that cake damnit! And now it's sitting on the fucking floor!"
Ellie ignored Maya's pleas and instead heard Melvin chuckling behind her. She swiftly swung around and hit him in the face as well, sending him tumbling back into a chair with a thud and an oof. He quickly raised his arms to protect himself from her onslaught of pillow pummeling, not even bothering to try and apologize.
"Don't you dare fucking laugh at her Melvin Craig! You're the one who pushed her! I don't care if she pushed you first! You pushed her on top of me and we lost 4 hours of fucking work and the good brandy I put in there and the good chocolate I used for the ganache and I bought real actual cherries to go on top and you! pushed! her!"
She punctuated her last words with particularly hard swings before running out of steam. Her arms hung low as she panted, her chest and shoulders heaving with each breath she took before she simply let the pillow go. It dropped atop the plates and silverware forgotten on the table, making a loud clacking noise as they bumped each other around. Ellie fell back onto the couch, the fight completely out of her.
Everyone looked at her in silence, amazed that so much anger had come from her when before they had barely heard her yell at someone, let alone pummel them with a pillow.
Lil looked at the knife in their hand before shrugging and turning around. "Guess we don't need this anymore."

The knocks at the door made you lift your head from the floor where you lay bleeding and sobbing. For the past hour, you kept slipping in and out of consciousness, every one of your limbs feeling heavy and tired. A hand lay securely across your still flat stomach.
You couldn’t bring yourself to lift as much as a finger to open the door. The police would have to break down the door. You could only make out the door being kicked down and few large figures dressed in what was definitely not police gear. A big man immediately crouched by your side when he saw you. Yousteel-blue able to see a pair of steel-blue eyes before everything blurred together again into darkness.
*
Your eyes blinked open, the white lights all around you taking a bit to adjust to. You try to pull your hands up to your face, but find them to be held down. You turn your head frantically to see your feet and hands strapped down. No no no no god please no. He’s back, he has you. Now you’ve done it. He’ll kill you this time. Tears streamed down your cheeks like waterfalls as your sobs shook you helplessly.
The door next to you opened and in walked in two men. One with a white lab coat, the other sporting a metal arm. “Hey hey woah. We’re not going to hurt you, we want to help you!” His hands reached out in front of him, you saw their eyes shift uncomfortably and fearfully down to your hands.
Following their gaze, you saw the blue glow surrounding your hands. Your breath grew desperate. Oh god, not again. The one with the metal arm stepped forward. “Please calm down. No one is going to hurt you, I promise.”
“Where am I? Who are you? Why am I here? Let me go!” Your words had turned to screams between cries.
“You’re in the med bay of the avengers compound. I’m Bucky. This is Bruce. We want to help you. We know you have powers, and we want to help you learn to control them.” You took a breath and calmed down a bit. “Can you tell us what happened?” You opened your mouth and closed it. ‘Don’t trust anyone.’ Said a little that little voice inside you, while another part of you bet everything that you should trust him.
Out of the corner of your eye, you saw him turn toward the other man and whisper something to him before they both walked out. He gave you one last lingering glance before they left.
You could have been lying there for what seemed like hours, but was only minutes. Your thoughts ran wild and you had no idea what to think. What would happen to you? What had you done? Would he come back to finish what he started?
Your scared eyes went to the door again as a young woman stepped in. She was cautious of her movements as she got closer to you. “Hi. I’m Wanda. I can remove those restraints, but I need you to promise me that you won’t freak out too much. It was just a precaution. We didn’t know how you’d react.” You nodded your head slowly. She mumbled an ‘Ok, great.’ and with a swish and flick of her wrist and glowing red energy, you were free. You sat up quicker than you should have despite the pain it brought.
“Y-you, y-y-you’re like me? I-I don’t understand. What’s happening? What happened to him? What happened to me?” Your hand shot to your abdomen; she saw the panic in your eyes.
“Your baby’s fine. Thankfully, we got you out of there on time to help you. We’re going to take care of you. We’ll explain everything once you’re a little better. We want to make sure you’ll be fully recovered before you get out of the med bay. Can you tell me what you remember?”
Her question made you turn away and hug yourself tightly. “Everything.” You whispered just loud enough for her to hear.
*
Everyone at the compound welcomed you warmly despite your guardedness. You could tell and appreciated how they tried to make you feel at home. Especially Bucky, Wanda, and Natasha. You didn’t know much about them or any of the avengers before meeting them. You didn’t know about most news or happenings, Travis just told you things he considered you needed to know, which in his eyes, was barely anything.
Wanda had asked you the first day what you remembered, and all you could say then was ‘Everything’. Unfortunately, that was the truth. Bucky, Nat, Wanda and you bonded gradually over your powers, your feelings, your training and eventually, you told them everything. Once you started, you couldn’t stop. You told them about how Travis was everything you could dream of at first. How once he made sure you couldn’t leave him, he showed his true colors. You told them about how you were raped. How you were beat until you could hardly move. How his words were like whips that hurt almost as much as the wounds he inflicted.
You found comfort in getting if off your shoulders. You grew to trust them; you all knew that everyone in the tightly-knit circle could understand each other's feelings and situations better than most. You still found it surprising that Bucky made it into that small circle, you knew everyone else was just as surprised. For some inexplicable reason, he made you feel safe.
You could manipulate space, matter, and energy with your powers like Wanda, and she saw training you to control them. You could protect yourself and your child now; you weren’t helpless and weak like Travis made you believe for so long. You were strong and powerful, with people on your side that you knew cared about your wellbeing.
That knowledge, as comforting as it was, couldn’t stop the nightmares that plagued some of your nights.
*
The car filled with the hilariously off key singing of you and your family. How they convinced you to take a week and a half off work for a road trip, you’d never know. All you knew was that you were glad to be with your family after going so long without seeing them.
With your mother being a successful surgeon, your father a scientist (specializing in god knows what), your younger brother David a professor, and you a nurse, none of you had much time or opportunity to visit each other.
“Dad, how long till we reach that hotel for the night? We gotta wake on time tomorrow.” You said once the song was over.
“Well, we’re still in the middle of nowhere. GPS says we’re two hours away. But really Y/N, what’s the rush? We can be a little late. Besides, the sun is just going down.”
You looked out the window with a playful huff and a grin. He was right, no reason to worry for nothing when you were supposed to be relaxed.
Headlights shone through from behind and you saw your parents exchange an anxious, almost scarred look. You had been the only car on the road for about an hour at that point, and it was just getting dark.
The black car caught up to yours and drove on directly beside the car even as your dad sped up. Their windows rolled down and the person on the passenger side took a gun out, taking aim, and shooting at the tires. All in a matter of seconds.
They shot at the window, thankfully your parents weren’t hit. You felt everything slow down. The screams of yourself and your family only a dull noise in comparison to the havoc around you as the car swerved violently and quickly.
You watched in slow motion as the huge tree ahead got closer and closer until you felt the crash. You shot forward but were pulled back abruptly by your seatbelt. Shards of glass shot every which way. Your vision was a blur.
Your eyes shot uselessly to your parents. Blood seeped and streamed from their cuts. Your mom was pressed against the dashboard, your dad against the wheel. His arm was extended out to her limply.
You used as much effort you could to see David. His eyes were fluttering shut and his head was hanging to the side. The left side of his face was bloodied and bruised, tears ran down his cheeks. You wanted nothing more in that moment than for all of it to be a twisted illusion.
You tried to call out to them, scream their names, yell for help, anything. But all that came from your lips was a faint whisper.
Your own pain and blood loss was making your vision even worse as your silent and weak sobs racked you. A large shadow through the bright headlights approached and ripped off the driver's seat door. You heard the groans of your father as he was dragged out behind the car. They opened the trunk.
“OPEN IT! NOW!” The menacing voice growled.
No answer came. “We have come VERY far for this. Did you really think Hydra would let you off that easy? That we wouldn’t find you? This is the last component.”
“You know what? I think we’ll have a great time killing your family if you don’t want to cooperate with us.” The doors swung open and you felt yourself be pulled out roughly. Your brother and mother were sat up by force beside you. Panicked words of protest came from your dad with cries and pleas. Your eyes looked to the side. There was no way your mother was still alive. A large man held her limp body up to a kneeling position by her neck and hair.
David’s eyes danced around before landing on you and mouthing an ‘I love you’. He knew what would happen. The bang of the shot filled the air and he fell back.
The man turned abruptly turned to your mother's body. He took aim again and shot repeatedly, merely for the effect. He turned to you. You would have welcomed death then, but he stopped and looked back to your dad. “So? You feeling more helpful now?”
He looked to you with an apologetic look. You watched as he punched in a code. “Go. To. Hell.” Curses came from the two men.
Loud beeps increasing as the gun went off one more time and your dad fell to the ground.
With one more long beep, the whole world seemed to stop. At first, all that happened was a small burst of blue energy and the light coming from the other car dimmed to nothing.
Then an explosion. The electric light cackled and extended to everything. The men were thrown back with such force that they hit trees and even through the chaos you heard the distinct shattering and breaking of a bone. Dead.
You were thrown in time with them, but you only landed in the clearing with a thud. You were consumed with the energy and your body and soul burned with it. You just saw it coursing around you despite it having subsided everywhere else before your eyes shut to blink.
When they opened again, you were on the hardwood floor of your old apartment that you shared with Travis.
He was standing above you with his hand still raised after hitting you.
As much as you wanted to get up, you stayed down. Maybe he’d calm down if you did. One good thing (pretty much the only good thing about carrying his child was that it had minimized how often he beat you. Significantly.
You hoped so much, laying there in front of him helplessly, that he would be satisfied with bashing your head against the table and throwing you to the floor. You wished yourself anywhere but there. You wished your child to be safe, to not be subjected to his cruelty, even before they were born.
Hugging yourself tightly, you curled into yourself as a kick landed against you. He leaned down and pulled you up against the all harshly, only to throw you again. You felt a sharp swift pain in your abdomen and all sense you had was lost.
Standing shakily, you looked at him with blood streaming down from your forehead and thoroughly busted lip. “No.” You stated. Travis laughed deeply.
“No? No what? I’ve been getting careless with your discipline, haven't I? And why should I keep being so? Not like the brat matters anyw-”
You cut him off, mustering up all your strength to toss a vase at his head with a shout. “You will not hurt my baby! You’ve hurt me for so long and I was stupid enough to not get out while I could. But I will not let you lay a finger on my child!” As the last words left your lips as a sharp yell, you felt an energy stream out of you uncontrollably. One that you’d only felt once before. A feeling you had tried to forget ever since.
You fell backward with a loud thud. Pure exhaustion overcame you but still, you pushed yourself up when you saw Travis getting up with a murderous rage burning in his eyes. “Now you’ve done it, you bitch.” His eyes traveled down to your still glowing hands. “You’re a fucking monster. You shouldn't be alive,  and neither should that baby.”
The fear in his eyes outshone the threats and you started stepping closer to him slowly. Too late to stop now. You were scared of yourself,  not knowing what was happening to you. He took a glass bottle and threw it at you, clearly thinking you didn't have it in you to do any more damage. Hearing the shatter, he grabbed another and slammed it against your head. The broken pieces cutting into you as you landed on the floor.
Travis was talking again but you couldn't make out the words he said, the ringing in your ears adding to the faintness you felt made it near impossible to listen or even just think.
He kicked you and you screamed as loud as you could. Perhaps someone would hear you. You were racked with power one more time before everything around you practically burst. Vases, mirrors, furniture and even Travis flew in every direction.
This time he didn't get up.
*
You woke in a cold sweat, your throat dry and burning from screaming. A hand took yours and another gripped your shoulder. A high shriek left you when your eyes met a pair of blue ones glimmering in the moonlight bleeding in through the blinds.
“Hey woah, woah, it's just me. I heard you screaming and I thought you might be in trouble.  I made Friday open the door for me.” You calmed down a bit when you heard his voice.
“Just a bad nightmare. More like memories actually.”
“Do you maybe wanna talk about it?  You know I'm always here to listen.” You stared at him a minute before nodding. Everything you'd tried to forget and move on from was resurfacing.  And he listened intently and patiently.  No one really knew the full story until him. You cried into his shoulder and effectively drenched his shirt in your tears but he only wrapped an arm around you and held you warmly.
Once your cries subsided and the tears streaming down your face had dried, Bucky shifted and stood. “You should get some sleep, iguess I'll get going now. Good-night Y/N, if you need anything, you know I'm just next door.”
He was almost at the door when your voice cut through the silence of the room with a “Wait!” You exclaimed all too quickly, instantly feeling your cheeks heat up. “Can you-uh-could you p-please stay? I-I um think it might help me sleep.” He nodded and walked back to your bed where he had been sitting just before. You folded back the covers, inviting him to lie down there. When he did he shifted comfortably to lay on his side facing you.
“Is this ok?” He whispered and you hummed an ‘mhmm’. And you stayed like that, just looking at each other until both of you fell asleep.
That kind of became the usual arrangement. He was like a warm blanket, helping you fall asleep and keeping nightmares far from your mind. He took care of you, and you liked it. Perhaps too much.
You’d never know what you did to deserve someone like him in your life. Someone who genuinely cared about you and did what he could to make you feel comfortable and safe. He brought laughter back into your life, and even in your short time at the compound, you felt content and healing slowly, bit by bit.
Movie nights, walks and runs around the compound and in parks with Bucky filled the empty space in your schedule. You had even started training together, and with his and Wanda’s help combined, you were getting quite good at controlling your powers and your skills increased steadily.
He was so kind and respectful to your boundaries but teasing and close at the same time. Whenever you felt down or anything like that, Bucky was there to listen, and when you needed space or time with the girls, he gave it to you. You didn’t deserve to have him in your life.
*
“I am going to be the best fucking aunt ever.” Nat proclaimed loudly in the middle of IKEA; much to the horror of the two mothers and kids in earshot.
“No. I am.” Wanda said curtly.
“First of all, chill. You'll both be the greatest aunts.  And second,  can you believe there are less than three months left!” A small smile decorated your face thinking about it. Even though it had only been about 5 months,  you knew your friends would always be with you.
“Hey Y/N/N check this out.“  Bucky called. When you all stood next to him, you could see the hero themed nursery display. Nat immediately went over to the Captain America things. Picking up a blanket and pillow,  she placed them next to a little Cap plushie. She pulled out her phone, took a picture, and sent it to the man himself, her boyfriend.
“Ahhh! Ooo I need thi-oh and that! And that!” You actually squealed and you went around picking things up. You dropped everything though when you saw the Winter Soldier plushie and the folded Winter soldier color themed blanket under it. One one side was soft smooth grey-blue and light blue stripes with a big red star in the center, the other side was a fluffy blue. “We are getting these!  It's perfect! Nat bring the pillow and the plushie please.”
She happily obliged.
On the way home, you made Bucky stop at a small playground that an ice cream shop was next to.
Turning with a grin as you held your (favorite flavor) ice cream, you walked to sit on a bench by the playground. As you licked away, you noticed two parents playing with their little boy. They laughed and ran around. They picked him up and spun him around playfully.  He ran up to the slide as to outrun them and slid down giggling.
But instead of stopping short and landing on his feet, he flew off and landed on the ground. His mother ran to him and pulled him to sit. Whimpers turned to little hiccups and wails as the woman examined his scraped knees. The man brought her a purse, from which she pulled a small tube of ointment and bandaids.
She spoke softly to him as she wiped his tears then kissed each scrape lovingly before applying the ointment and putting the bandaid on him. His father sat him on his shoulders and promised the boy an ice cream cone.
Next to you, your three friends must have not noticed your mood change. If they did, they gave no indication.
*
You sat on your bed, with you head in your hands, surrounded by the baby books you had already bought. You cried and sniffled quietly. A knock sounded from the door before in walked Bucky. “Doll, Guess wh-” You wiped your tears quickly, but not quick enough. “Y/N what's wrong? Are you ok?” He sat beside you and stroked your back.
“It’s just, I guess reality slapped me in the face today. Like, of course, I knew that this meant having a baby and raising them.” You said gesturing to your protruding stomach. “But I don't think I ever stopped to think about how hard it would be. I mean, I didn't think it would be easy but still. I guess I didn't want to think about it either.
“But seeing that couple and their kid, it-i don't know. I realized that I'm doing this alone. That I am going to be a single mother. So many parents do it… but can I? I don't know the first thing about being a mom! What if I mess them up? If I can't take care of them or protect them! Travis is in prison but what if he gets out or finds us?
“This is MY baby. But unfortunately, they're his too. And God, Is it too much to hope they don't look like him? What am I going to do?”
“Y/N, I know I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again. We are all here for you. Whenever you need us, and even when you don’t, we’re here for you. He has no right to this baby, he won’t get out anyway. We’ll make sure of it.
“You’ll be an amazing mother. I already know it. I’ve seen how you act and love. If your worry is being a single mom, than just don’t worry about that. Any man would be the luckiest bastard to be with you. Besides, if it’s any consolation, you have me.”
He gazed deeply, longingly, into your eyes, and you into his. He leaned closer to you, eyes flickering to your lips and back. You brain turned off, and you leaned in a little too. You looked down at his lips and just a second later, your eyes fluttered shut as his lips met yours gingerly.
His hand slipped to your neck and gently tilted your face more towards his. You couldn’t even process your thoughts, the only clear one was that you felt better than you had in a very long time. It felt like your lips were made to be on his.
You parted slowly, like neither of you wanted the moment to end. And in truth, you didn’t.
He was already looking at you when your eyes opened again to look at him. Only a few inches were between you. With a resigned and almost pained look on his face, he took a breath and sighed. Then, “I love you.”
It was said so softly that you weren’t even sure you heard it. But still, the words were on the tip of your tongue. Because you did. You, the broken woman they found months ago, had been falling for Bucky Barnes.
Your phone went off, breaking you out of your trance. “It’s Nat. I really should take this. I’ll talk to you later Bucky. And thank you.”
You knew Nat’s call wasn’t urgent, all she really wanted to tell you was that she got some Black Widow things for the baby. But you needed to get out of there.
As much as you wanted something with Bucky, it wasn’t the time. You should be focusing on your baby and your powers. Were you even ready to give your heart to someone again? Of course Bucky would never hurt you but still, you wondered. Besides, you would only hold him back. And you said it yourself, you didn’t deserve him; He’d be better off without you.
*
TWO MONTHS LATER
Avoiding Bucky turned into a whole job. Honestly you were tired of it but you couldn’t bear having to talk to him. If you were ever caught off guard, you quickly made up an excuse and waddled away.
You knew he worried about you and wanted to talk but you couldn't bring yourself to face him. The girls were split between sides but didn’t show it.
Days grew longer without him and you grew to the size of a moon.
The whole team, with the exception of Bucky, were gone on a mission and weren’t due back until at least tomorrow afternoon. Of course it could be longer though. So at the time, your room seemed like the safest place to stay. You passed the time sitting on your bed, with snacks or even full meals, books or Netflix. Anything to pass the time. Even just feeling your belly as your baby kicked and moved and just talking to them.
“Ugh I’m a planet! You’re getting so big and strong in there my star. I can’t wait to meet you.” You whispered smiling, so enthralled that you didn’t notice the knock at your door or when it opened.  Bucky was met with a soft sight that tugged at his heartstrings.
“Y/N?” He said softly, making you shoot up and almost fall off the bed. Your eyes were wide and you felt yourself slightly panic. So much for ignoring him. He saw your mouth open to speak and your legs unfold as you stand and start to walk away. “No. Wait, Don’t leave. Please. I just- I need- I want-.” He took a deep breath. “I’m just worried about you. You’ve been avoiding me for two months! You won’t even look at me! And I can’t stand it. Not anymore. Talk to me. Please?” His voice dimmed so it was barely audible. “I wasn’t lying when i said i loved you. Please don’t do this. Please don’t push me away anymore.”
He wore his feelings clearly on his features, no longer holding back anything. You could see the tears threatening to spill.
“Bucky I-I can’t do this. Not now. I’m sorry I’ve been avoiding you. But, You want me to be honest?” A nod. “I realized that I love you! That I want to be with you and to be happy, Okay? And then I realized that’s wrong. That I shouldn’t want that! You shouldn’t want this! All because It’s not just me anymore. I have a baby that i have to take care of and worry about. A baby that I love so much even though they haven’t been born yet. Hell, I don't even know if they’re a boy or a girl. I’m so worried about being enough for them, about being everything they need and giving them all they deserve. Raising them will be a big challenge but it’s one I’ve been getting ready for the past months.
“I won’t make you have to do it too though. Because if I do, sure it always starts out perfect, ya know? But then it’ll hit you that you actually don’t want the burden of me and a child that isn’t even yours! And you’ll want out. I don’t think I could take that. Because I’m not just fighting for myself anymore. I’m fighting for my child. And I’m also fighting for all the people who are going or have gone through things like I have.
“I don’t even know what to say anymore. I just know that you should be with someone you’ll be happy with, someone without so many problems. Not me. More than anything, I’m just scared. Scared of messing it all up. Scared of the fact that you have power over me that I thought and hoped I'd never give to anyone again.. Scared of getting hurt again.”
Your face was red and tears almost stung as they rolled down your cheeks like waterfalls. Your breathing was heavy and you hugged yourself through your sobs. Bucky stepped forward to you and wrapped his arms around you, his chin resting on the top of your head. Your tears soaked his shirt, and his sniffles filled your ears.
Still holding you close, Bucky moved you two to sit at the edge of the bed. Your sobs quieted and Bucky pulled away from you to look at you.
“Let me be there for you. Y/N I swear i love you, And believe it or not I love this baby too. From the moment I saw you, I’ve wanted to know you, and help you. These Past months I’ve fallen so hard for you. And call me crazy for it but I don’t know what I’d do without you here anymore. All i know is that i need you in my life more than you could need me. I will love you and help you as much as I possibly can. I can promise you I’ll never ever hurt you. I swear it. You’ve proven that you can protect yourself, but i’ll try damn hard anyway. You and the baby. If you let me. Please let me. Let me be with you and take care of you. You don’t have to do this alone.”
The sincerity in his eyes and the way he was caressing you made you want to push him away and reject him. But a voice inside you drowned out the thought and only screamed for you to let him in. “Ok.” Was all you said before you leaned in and kissed him before you could regret it.
You felt at home and peaceful for the few seconds your lips were joined together.
“Love is scary: it changes; it can go away. That’s the part of the risk. I guess I don’t want to be scared anymore. So let’s do this.”
**
4 years later
“Nova! Time to go! C’mon darling, get your sweater on.”
“I can’t find it mommy!” She yelled back from the living room.
“I got it.” Said Bucky as he walked in. He kissed you gently and went over to help Nova.
“Thank You daddy! Mommy hurry! We’re gonna be late.” She sassed standing at the door.
“Ok, Ok, I’m going. Remember i still have to carry your brother and sister.”
“Shit.” Bucky whispered. “Grant lost his shoe!” You groaned and waddled around looking for your two year olds shoe.
“You know what? We don’t have time for this. Just go get another pair and I’ll change them in the car. You grabbed your bag and ushered Nova out the door and into the car. Bucky came out a minute later with Grant. A couple minutes later, you were pulling out of your driveway and shortly after, you were pulling into Steve and Natasha’s.
“Hey Y/N! How’re Becca and Jamie today?” Natasha cooed as she went straight to crouching in front of your stomach once you walked in. Steve walked over to hug you and pick up his godson. “Nova, Wanna help me finish dinner?” Your daughter nodded emphatically. She loved her auntie Nat. That just left you and Bucky, Steve was taking Grant to their three year old boy Ethan. He helped you with your coat and stood in front of you. As close as he could with you once again pregnant belly in the way.
After Nova was born, (As Nova Phoebe Barnes), you quickly confirmed that Bucky was perfect. Everything (from her birth to the present) was 1000 times easier with him by your side. Without a doubt he was her father even if they didn’t share blood.
A month after Nova had turned one year old, Bucky and you were married. All doubts you ever had were long gone.
Though you were barely ever away from your baby girl except for the easiest of missions, you and Bucky managed to have little getaways every now and then when Nat and Steve agreed to babysitt. That’s how Grant David Barnes happened, conceived just four months after your wedding.
Through good times and bad, you both stuck to your vows, to each other, and to your little family.
Then just four months ago, you found out you were pregnant again. With twins.
Everyone teased you saying that you and Bucky couldn’t keep it in your pants and that you fucked like rabbits. Though partly true, let’s just say that super soldier sperm was powerful stuff. You enhancements didn’t help either.
Both your kids so far had tested positive for having you and Bucky’s abilities. But you didn’t need a test to prove that. All of ‘em kicked like kangaroos on steroids. Sometimes they’re playing and accidentally break things or hurt others without meaning to.
You’re training them to keep their powers under control slowly but surely. Never too early. Nova just learned to make tiny force fields. Her uncle Steve made sure she’s always safe though. It’s pep-talk central whenever she goes crazy or excited.
That’s how you got here. Happy at last, proud of the family you had built with the man you chose. You both still worked when you were needed but now you were only called for emergencies; for the next five months of your pregnancy and a few more after, you wouldn’t be called at all.
Bucky kissed you softly on the forehead, breaking you from your thoughts. “You okay?”
“Yeah, never better. Just thinking about how happy I am.” With a lingering kiss, you took his hand and led him to the dining room, where Nat and Nova were setting the table.
If anyone had told you five years ago that you'd be here, like this, you might have cried and rejected the idea. But now, seeing your family, you might cry for an entirely different reason.

Hey how about a bartender au!! Peter is working at a bar for some reason and Juno is a frequent customer...
“Sir, I’m not sure…” tried Ernest Walter asa client asked for his fourth glass of rather expensive, rather inebriatingwhiskey.
“It’s fine.” Sighed the client. “Vicky willput it on my tab.”
That was a weak excuse at best, anoutrageous lie at worse, but Ernest Walter was a mousy, nervous kid, new to thebusiness, and as much as he didn’t want to get fired by his new boss, he wouldalso have been terrified of angering the man currently standing only a counteraway from him.
“Are you sure…”
“Listen kid,” the tone of the stranger wasbrusque, but Peter could tell he was trying to look as unthreatening aspossible. “I promise you, Vicky knows me. Hell, even if she didn’t,she’d sooner come after me than after one of her own, no matter how new or hownaive they may be. Now, if you really want to, you can call Todd on me as soonas you give me my drink, but please. Please. Please. Give me. Mydrink.”
“O… okay.”
Ernest fumbled with the glass bottleseventually managing to give the man his dose, maybe even a bit more than that.
What could Peter say? He’d always been asucker for a beautiful face.
“Thank you.” Said the client, in a gratefulbreath, before downing a good half of the drink.
Peter had to admit to being impressed. Hewas himself notably terrible at handling his liquor, but the man had justthrown back his three and a half whiskey with no problem, and while his movementshad gotten slower, he didn’t seem to be nearly as wasted as Peter would haveexcepted anyone to be.
He would, of course, have loved tointerrogate this stranger, who seemed to be so totally out of place in VallesVicky’s establishment looking more like a common thug - with rough edges and anose crooked in a way that suggested it had been broken repeatedly - than thepolished clients Ernest Walter saw during the day. His cover wouldn’t have feltthat way, however, not yet, and Peter couldn’t afford to blow this up for onepretty face.
He caught sight of Todd across the room, coming back from the main public entrance. Ernest sent him a panicked glance, pointing a significative stare towards his scruffy client.
“Juno.” Todd said as he reached the bar.“Why are you here?”
“Hey Todd.” Juno said, glancing at Peterfrom the corner of his eyes. “Finished my job for Vicky. Figured I could checkout the perks before she sends me back.”
Peter carefully stayed focused on his work.He really hadn’t pegged Juno for one of Vicky’s men. If he’d had to guess, he’dhave thought him to be some kind of down on his luck good-doer. A cop maybe.Rough but ultimately kind, which, admittedly, seemed to be a rarity in HyperionCity.
But it meant Peter could now justify gainingmore information on him. If Juno really was working with Vicky, then maybe, he’dbe useful to gather the information Peter needed.
“You should go see her now,Juno.”
“Yeah yeah, sure. I will. Just let mefinish my drink and…”
Todd placed a huge hand down on Juno’sshoulder. It seemed to Peter that he was gripping him a bit tighter than was strictlynecessary.
The lady, getting more and more mysteriousby the second, sighed at that.
“Fine. Going… going…”
He put a bill down on the counter even ashe was dragged away.
“Thanks for the drinks, kid.”
Juno, Peter learned during his research, full name Juno Steel, was a former cop whose carreer had ended messily in a mysterious affair involving mafias, corruption, and worst of all, politics. Considering his previous record, though, it was entirely obvious that his demise was the result of a cover up, effective enough to attract Peter’s attention without revealing him much.
It seemed he worked with Vicky as a private investigator of sort, finding dirt on unpaying clients and grabby assholes, gathering informations on ennemies, and solving the right crimes at the right times to delete Valles Vicky’s concurrence.
He was, in a word, as clean as he could get away with while working for Vicky, and Peter couldn’t help but wonder how he’d ended up helping an art smugler of all things. From what snippet of conversation he’d managed to hear here and there - bringing Vicky her wine at just the right time, loitering around her door when he wouldn’t be missed, listening in through the tiny recording device he’d placed in the ventilation system - she liked Juno at least as much as he annoyed her. She kept yelling at him and threatening him, but from what he’d been able to gather, he was also an invaluable asset to her, and she trusted him with most of her business.
Juno was also, it seemed, incredibly paranoiac.
“So, what did you tell Vicky?”
Ernest looked up fearfully at Juno. The skittish bartender was, for the most part, reassured about the client’s character after a few weeks of not getting attacked doing his job, but Juno still cut an impressive figure, and Ernest was nothing if not impressionable.
“W… what?”
“Drop it, kid. This doesn’t work on me anymore. You’re always there when I come talk to her, and you may not look like it, but you listen to… just about everything I say, don’t you?” He leaned in, causing Ernest to take a cautious step back. “So, what do you say? Is this her way of making sure I’m not going to, I don’t know, betray her?”
He snatched the glass Enerst still hadn’t given him, studying the bartender with eyes, percing enough that Peter felt as though maybe he would be able to find him under the layers he’d carefully applied to his self.
It sent a shiver down his spine, cold and burning.
“You’re not a PI… I know those… A spy, maybe? But, why would you work for Vicky then…”
He took a gulp of his drink, still looking at Enerst through the distorted glass. The fretful man finally gathered himself enough to respond to the - frankly quite ridiculous - accusations.
“Sir, I think maybe you’ve had too…”
“Unless you’re not.”
“I… What?… Sir?”
“Unless you’re not. Working for her, that is.”
Enerst Walter was not entirely dumb, but he wasn’t the smartest tool in the box, either.
“I… am? Sir. I’m a bartender, you might have noticed.”
Peter, however, was following the conversation with interest. Juno was getting awfully close to figuring him out, and that would be a problem.
“What’s your name?”
The question was abrupt enough that even Peter was surprised.
“Me? I mean… It’s really none of your… business…”
Juno looked at him, unnervingly still. Ernest wasn’t a very courageous man.
“Um… Ernest. Ernest Walter.”
“Ernest Walter.” Juno repeated. “Right. And how long have you been working for Vicky?”
“Sir, I really don’t…”
“Humor me.”
Ernest was getting angry. To be fair, Peter thought, at this point most people would have been. Someone insisting you weren’t yourself tended to have that effect on people - Peter would know. But he wasn’t quite angry enough yet to forget that Juno Steel could very well resort to a violence he wasn’t ready to match.
“Three months.” He said through his teeth. “Now, if you will excuse me…”
“Sure. Wouldn’t want to put a wrench in your plans.” Juno winked and it was so incredibly smug it almost looked familiar to Peter’s eyes.
Peter was seriously starting to consider calling this whole long con thing off.
“Sir.” Enerst had come a long way. He’d gone from scared to annoyed to long suffering. “Are you following me?”
“Hello, Ernest.” Juno was insufferably chipper, and Enerst wanted to kick him. “I just thought I’d go to my meeting with Vicky on foot. Lovely weather today.”
Enerst made a show of glancing at the threatening clouds overhead.
“And you just happenned to be passing by my building, I take it.”
He didn’t bother to make it a question.
“Oh, you know… small world and all that.”
Juno was terrible at fake chitchat. Externally Ernest was rolling his eyes at the man, while internally Peter had to refrain from laughing at Juno’s very poor technique. The man had been - quite subtly he had to admit - following him for the past two weeks, and although Vicky now trusted him, constantly having a shadow had been a major pain in the ass.
“And I’m sure Vicky will be happy to learn that you’re keeping in form for your actual job.” Ernest’s sarcasm had still a long way to go, but it was steadily improving.
“Vicky will be happy not to be stabbed in the back.”
“Vicky trusts me.”
Juno snorted at that.
“Don’t feel too special kid, Vicky trusts everyone working for her. Doesn’t mean she should.”
“I” Ernest was starting to get fed up with the pseudo PI, and Peter was regretting then more than ever to have made him as stuffy as he was “am not a child, and Vicky has every reason to trust me!”
Juno stopped, and looked him dead in the eye. Ernest took a careful step back, and even Peter felt himself. Juno seemed like a good enough person, but he still had something of a dangerous lady underneath it all. A controlled violence that neither Ernest nor Peter really knew how to thread with.
“Your name isn’t Ernest Walter and I will find what you want from Vicky if it kills me.”
And before Ernest had any time to respond - before Peter had any time to respond - he stormed off. In seconds, Ernest was left alone in an empty street.
“No need to be so dramatic about it.”
This job really wasn’t going to go well was it.
