random dps headcanons

cameron's favorite flower is peonies (totally not projecting myself unto him there, nope), because they remind him of his grandmother's house — he goes there every summer for a bit, and helps her tend to her garden. he's surprisingly very good with plants and flowers, so he always keeps some in his dorm room.

charlie speaks french and none of the poets know when or why he learned it. he just randomly talk to them in french sometimes, knowing full well they can't understand him (actually, todd can, but he'll never admit to it — he has family in france, so he learnt the language a bit to be able to talk to his younger cousins)

pitts really likes to draw and paint, and his half of his dorm room is usually overtaken by canvases and a ton of half used (or completely empty) sketchbooks. he also always has paint on his clothes and gets reprimanded by teachers almost every day for it.

charlie is a hoarder. if he likes something, he'll get 10 of them. he has a ton of pretty notebooks (he keeps buying more even though he hasn't used the other ones), buys his favorite pen in 4 different colors twice and he collects mugs (the poets always bring him back a mug whenever they go on vacation somewhere).

todd has an impressive collection of teas (charlie has a different mug for each tea and each occasion). he keeps it all in one of those pretty tea storage box, under his bed, and always takes it with him to meetings (meeks usually brings the kettle).

neil doesn't know how to whistle, and he can't blow bubblegum either.

meeks writes a lot of poetry in his free time, but he never shows it to the other poets because he doesn't think it's good enough (it is tho). he writes it any and everywhere he can: corner of his maths notebook, scraps of paper laying around in his room, receipts from the bookstore,... one time, a sheet on which he's written one of his longest poems falls from his notebook when he leaves keating's class. keating reads it, thinks it's incredible, and the next time he asks for a poem as an assignment, he makes meeks read his outloud to the class and everyone is in awe of how good it is (POET MEEKS SUPREMACY).

knox's favorite colors are pink and green, but he never works up the courage to get, say, a pink sweater, or a pink pair of socks, so on his birthday, the poets gift him the softest pink sweater ever and a pair of pink and green argyle socks, which he cherishes more than anything. he never wears the sweater to class, but he usually puts it on for meetings, or just when he's chilling in his room.

neil doesn't like cheese (mostly because he doesn't like food that smells bad). he also doesn't like potatoes in soup because it makes his throat itchy. (yes i'm projecting my food pet peeves onto neil leave me alone) he has an obsession with yogurt though, and he keeps a stash of mcvities chocolate digestives in his room.

todd organises everything by size and color, from his socks to his books. he also organises anything that belongs to neil and that's visible (so his books on his shelves or desk, mostly) by size and color. neil usually mixes it up inadvertently when he's studying, so todd reorganises everything like, every two days.

Who do you think found out about Neil’s death first?

Do you think it was Charlie? Do you think one of the teachers woke him, whispered the news in his ear? That he was dumbfounded for the first time in his life, whispering that it wasn’t true, it couldn’t be true. That he started to cry because Neil, one of the few people who had always stood by him, was now gone from this Earth. 

And Cameron heard and woke up, and didn’t say a thing except drag him to his feet and bring him to Knox because your best friend is dead and people need to know. 

Did Knox wake from his latest dream about Chris to this living nightmare where Charlie, good old Charlie, was sobbing and trying to tell him through endless tears that Neil killed himself and what are we going to do without him and oh my god we need to tell the others. 

And next was Meeks and Pitts, who barely believed them, but Charlie was crying and Charlie never cries so it must be true. It’s Pitts who remembers that they need to tell Todd. They troop down the hallway, a morose little band, down to Neil’s-scratch that-Todd’s room to tell him that their golden boy is gone.

Do you think it was Charlie? I think it was Charlie.

DEAD POETS AND TATTOOS - HEADCANONS

Neil isn't a fan of needles, but he does have two (mostly because he's a sappy bastard, a sentimental fucker if you will)

They're both matching. One with Todd, one with Charlie.

The one he did with Todd is really sweet- it's red string on one finger each.

The one with Charlie is frog and toad driving on a bike with "fuck the police" written below. Neil has it on his arm.

They were drunk and thought it's a brilliant idea.

Neil kinda likes it though.

Todd collects quotes on his forearms.

Things Keating told them, poems, pretty words.

Along all of them, there's also a little God Of The Cave that Pitts doodled for him.

Don't tell Charlie, but he also has parts of Poetrusic.

When Charlie moved out and became independent adult, he got ADDICTED

His whole legs got covered in tats pretty quick - both by professionals and his friends with needles

Some are realistic, but they're mostly little drawings he fell in love with and impulsively got.

Only one of them got infected.

(Friends with needles being Chris and Stick.)

(They both have their own ways of making them.)

Chris got into it shortly after realizing she's hella gay. It was on her bucket list anyways.

Stick mostly likes hyperfocusing on making detailed art, so that seemed like a good idea. Cameron sometimes walks in on him stabbing his own leg. Richard wonders if he remembers to blink.

Stick has mostly flowers and small animals. Snails, frogs, bugs. He has a moth on his wrist that Cameron likes to draw little circles on when they lay in bed together, about to sleep.

Cameron doesn't have tattoos. He doesn't like things that are permanent. But he loves watching Stick doing them, dot after dot.

Knox is indecisive when it comes to tattoos. He stressed and overthought them so much, that in the end he only has two:

A daisy and a skeleton in an overgrown coffin-pond

"that's so pretentious" "well. I am also pretentious."

He loves those two tattoos to death though.

All of Meeks' tattoos are symmetrical. Not only in their shape, but he also does two at once. He felt weirdly lopsided when he only had it on one side.

They're mostly constructed of simple lines and shapes, but those make little masterpieces

Yes he's that bitch who has statue of David tattooed. Die mad about it.

On the flipside, Pitts prefers tattoos that are splashes of color.

They're like left brain and right brain.

Mr keating told them he also has tattoos. But he wears long sleeve and formal trousers all day every day so no one ever saw them yet.
