The Barnard Block - Andover - MA

The Barnard Block is a historic commercial block at 10–16 Main Street in the center of Andover, Massachusetts. The two story brick and stone building was built in 1910 for Henry Barnard, son and business partner of Jacob W. Barnard, a successful local shoemaker. This building was one of a number of family investments.

Tornado damage from Andover, Kansas (April 29, 2022). Look at the dirt splattered against the case too, not just the projectile that was blasted into it. And at the end of the 2-by-4, is that a metal plate from a roof joint or something? I don't know the vocabulary -- architects and builders, help me out here -- but that's what it looks like to me.

On Christmas Day, 1983, some 30 Southern Railway hood units have filled every available track in the small terminal at Andover, VA. The railroad is locked down for the holiday. It's very, very early in the era of Norfolk Southern, there isn't a single NS-painted unit in the group to pollute the scene.
