i need some tel au before i cry about this rough draft i need to write

🌙✨ –;; hooo buddy tel au. little two years out of college brad marchand, attempting to make it as a musician and doing the best he can with his high school guitar and open mics in the area, but ultimately lacking the recording equipment to take his stuff to the next level. ceo patrice, three times headlining forbes’ 30 under 30 list (until he turned 30, but he’s still remarkably private and no one knows much about him other than he’s damn beautiful and quite quite rich), who enjoys the finer things in life, but who also has a weak spot for fix-its. he doesn’t necessarily consider himself a sugar daddy; just someone with the funds and the means to help people along. people who want a hand up as opposed to a hand out, of course. they have to work for it. 

and brad’s unique. he’s got a unique style, a unique appearance, and patrice is bound to pick up someone new – he only just finished up the last one about six months ago. it’s time, and he has an understanding with his partner – this is something he has to do, he can’t just not. besides, it only lasts three to four months anyway. that’s nothing compared to a marriage of 10 years, and while getting married at 26 was certainly a forceful decision, he’s nothing if not a go getter. he gets what he wants and he wants brad. 

only…it doesn’t stop. brad takes the offered help, takes the offered space in his bed, takes his hands and mouth so well but it doesn’t stop. three months, four months, five months…eight months pass by and it doesn’t stop. patrice knows he’s in love with brad at this point, bringing him around the world as he travels for work, showing him the multitude of houses he and his partner own across the globe. sunlit italian fields, glowing french countryside villas, cozy forested lodges in finland; brad’s just too sweet to let him sit in that boston apartment by himself. patrice refuses, and he knows brad feels the same in the way they so easily fall back into their patterns even after days or weeks apart.

even though patrice doesn’t wear his wedding ring for reasons other than brad (those reasons being paparazzi and any journalist with a smartphone looking for some indication of why patrice bergeron hasn’t married anyone yet in his 36 years of life) he still knows he should probably say something. the weight of it is killing him, he wants both? why can’t he have both? 

he lays in bed next to his partner, staring out at the sky and trying to come up with a way to broach the subject, when he rolls over and says, “You love him. Don’t you?” and patrice nods, feeling caught, because he swore when they got married nothing was going to be a problem such as this. he swore that no matter how often he might stray with his wallet or his dick, his heart would always belong to the man who put that ring on his finger. the ring he cannot wear. he rolls over, fearing to lose it all – knowing the stress has been pushing brad further and further into himself, afraid to get in the way of an established relationship, and what kind of a burden is that to place on a 24 year old, even one he loves? – and instead he’s greeted with a gentle hand cupping his face. 

“I guess I have to meet him, then. Bring him to Naples. I can fly there after work next week.” patrice isn’t the only one to have been headlining 30 under 30 though that door closed four years ago for him. 

he clicks his tongue. “Don’t scare him. He’s shy, and young.” 

his partner raises a brow, barely lit by the moon. “Do you think I’m planning to scare him?”

“If you want me to leave him, I…” he wants to say he can but he knows he can’t. not now. maybe five months ago, but maybe even that’s a lie. maybe he fell in love as soon as he saw him in that bar. 

“Shh. Let me meet him first.” 

his husband is right; he should meet brad first before any decisions are made. they themselves have plenty of secrets – namely their marriage – that they keep from the world, and patrice has been open with his tendency to fall a little too invested with those he can help. he loves his husband, he really does. but he can’t choose between them anymore. the realization must show on his face, because tuukka makes a small noise and sits up, leaning over to press a gentle kiss to his lips, coaxing him to relax. 

they’ll be okay. and brad will be too. what’s the worst that could happen?

i dont care for the bruins really but those 3 put me on thin fucking ice i i just love it and i love that au it’s Some Good Fucking Food but like how awkward does that week start out for pat? how much does he want to scream and run away?? (thank im gonna scream but it’s fine lol)

🌙✨ –;; listen it starts out that way and then you just wind up with too many aus and you don’t know how you got here but you know you have a problem. regardless!

patrice is free to travel that week, and he tells brad as such, so they go to naples together. and patrice feels a little bad, manipulating brad in such a way, but brad really does love italy and he does love the way brad looks in the vineyard they frequent so why not take him and enjoy the week for what it is? it doesn’t help that brad flourishes in the outside, in nature, and there’s plenty more nature in naples than in boston. he looks happy, like he belongs, and patrice finds himself foolishly hoping for something he’s not sure he’ll get. but midway through the week, he tells brad that his partner is coming, and that pat wants the two of them to meet. 

(he leaves out that it’s because he’s fallen in love with him and his husband can see that in him.)

brad, naturally, is scared but knows he needed to do this eventually. he asks pat to describe his partner (and pat has never said ‘my husband’ or ‘my wife’ he just has said ‘partner’ so brad has no idea what to expect) and patrice says “I think it’s best for you two to meet in person. There’s not much I can say.” because he doesn’t know what to say, or if brad would recognize or say anything.  

the week comes to a close, and when brad wakes up the next morning something is off. the bed is empty and the smells of food are coming from downstairs. which is ridiculous, as he knows patrice doesn’t often cook and he himself isn’t awake, but then the door opens and patrice is holding a mug of coffee, and he tells brad to come downstairs in his own time but his partner is here. 

tuukka flew in from elsehwere in europe so he’s not terribly jetlagged or tired, if at all, and patrice is wearing his wedding ring again and he, for one, feels at home. he has his husband and his lover, which he knows is awfully greedy of him, but he can’t help it. he loves them both. but brad seems a bit shaken so he goes downstairs to where tuukka’s making crepes in a soft, well-worn white t-shirt and black joggers, and patrice leans up against him because he did miss his husband, so much. but he doesn’t know what he wants to do here. 

tuukka looks down at him and gives him this knowing look, tells him that he made this situation so he needs to settle down and let it play out, that he won’t do anything to hurt brad because if he means that much to patrice then he means that much to tuukka too. and patrice feels a little bit better, the anxieties of the week wearing away, though he does notice the way tuukka’s gaze lingers on the mark on his neck from brad two nights prior. he sips his coffee and is quiet because tuukka’s right, he did make this situation, even if tuukka is looking at him with dark eyes. 

(it should also be noted that in the course of their relationship, they’ve learned how to understand each other’s native tongue, though they cannot speak it. so when brad comes downstairs, there’s fluent quebecois french and finnish going back and forth, with both parties knowing what’s going on after years of study, though their speaking ability in the other’s language isn’t that great.)

(ngl not what i was going for but i like it!) i got some questions tho: who wears the pretty things in this relationship? who goes grocery shopping when they're all together? who loves the rain? who forces the others to watch a series on netflix? who is the most tactile? who shows their love more with actions than words? (also i kinda want to talk about the sacrifice au...)

💍– the one who wears the pretty things overall is definitely brad but the criteria changes. tuukka dresses him up as one would expect daddy’s boy to dress up, while patrice helps him get clothes that look more professional to further his image and career. patrice will dress up from time to time for his husband, though, if he’s feeling it

🛒– the one who goes grocery shopping is 100% tuukka; brad likes to go with him so he can not be completely helpless, but patrice doesn’t have the time for it and tuukka is rather particular about his ingredients

🌧– patrice loves the rain; it was raining the day he and tuukka got married, and while it was inside, after their one witness had left and the documents were all in order, they left the courthouse and kissed outside, in the rain, just because they could 

💻– netflix is definitely brad because he has the widest tastes for shows and he’s willing to try new things. often he finds a series or a show and then shows it to either tuukka or patrice, depending on who he thinks would enjoy it. pat, ironically, likes reality cooking shows, while tuukka likes things that make you think

👐🏻– none of them really are in public, though brad does get away with some things like hooking his fingers into tuukka’s belt loops, or occasionally getting patrice to put a hand on the small of his back. patrice is the most handsy in private, though, because he’s the most comfortable with the both of them and in the way his role changes, relative to who he is around

💗– i don’t think this comes as a surprise, but tuukka does more with his actions than with his words. it’s not that he doesn’t say how he feels, but he thinks and double thinks before he speaks. patrice has some of that too; it’s an effect of being such public figures who give speeches and lead meetings and who can’t be ‘off’ when it comes to their communication skills. but patrice is more likely to let that side go and physically express his affection, whereas tuukka will do actions to let his loves know he loves them

🌙✨ –;; he loses his cool rarely, but if he’s given someone several chances to do the right, correct, and proper thing, and they still haven’t – and not for a lack of direction or support, but general incompetence and unwillingness to seek that direction or support – he will lose it on them. now this can take several forms; he can still be polite about it but will, in essence, fire them in a gentle and polite way. or he goes all ‘scathing patrice’ and makes them wish they had never been born. 

he only raises his voice if the other person thinks they can fight back against him; otherwise it is a very controlled, purposefully low tone of voice that simply tears apart a person’s will to live and calls into question their very integrity as a person, much less as an employee in his company. he never gets physical with them but he has on a few occasions thrown a vase either as their closing the door or just over their shoulder if they’re back talking to him. 

now he doesn’t lose his cool often, but when he does….everyone knows about it. tuukka can often read it in his body language the next time he sees him, because patrice wears his heart on his sleeve (at least, to his husband) and he can tell when something is bothering him. he helps as best he can; brad too, though brad doesn’t get the whole business side of the problem, he just focuses on taking patrice’s mind off of things. 

yes!! they are good boys!! and they have a lot in common with each other, which they recognize. the closest members of the pantheon is probably a tie between juuse & pekka, hank & joel, and chara & stamkos. the married couple, the twins, and the old queens are truly a sight to behold when it comes to their dynamics.

fun fact about meetings: stamkos doesn’t like to come to them on time because he doesn’t like to be pinned into “small spaces” – which, when your domain is the sky, every space is a small space compared to that. so chara waits until literally every other god is present, then calls stamkos down, who doesn’t have a chair so much as he has a perch that he sits on for the duration of the meeting. last in, first out, that’s his motto when it comes to these things, and chara’s such an enabler that the rest of the gods are just like “really? really.” 

not so fun facts: the reason that pk and holtby had to put sid together was for two reasons. one; he was physically severely injured during the great disruption. one of the evil gods – the cloaked tyrant, god of one tyranny and domination, of the last ones standing that they hadn’t tracked down yet, and didn’t know where he was – showed up in sid’s domain, the hearts court. his domain resembles a court room, and in the middle is a giant golden scale (like lady justice has) and it balances the good and evil in all of the universe. 

i want to handle that scene in a very specific way but basically sid winds up fighting with the cloaked tyrant (not saying who is playing him but i will say that there’s four evil gods and they’re pretty much widely recognized as being pos in the league but i digress) and being shoved into these scales. the entire structure was temporarily shoved entirely to the evil side, meaning the entire universe’s alignment was temporarily thrown out of wack, and sid sustained a very….very bad head injury. 

pk and holtby were the ones to find him, and they, along with chara, were the ones to physically banish the cloaked tyrant and seal him away. 

two; during and after sid’s recovery from the attack, he was thrown into a moral dilemma. he was confused about what could be considered good and evil, as in war the scales are shifted. he had also firmly believed that by having gods to embody the evil parts of human life, they could somehow keep them in check; that only by embracing the evil could one embrace the good. but in the aftermath of this war, with two of his brothers killed and two sealed away, and his own body slowly recovering as the other gods helped to rebuild the very earth itself, he found himself worrying about what his very purpose was. 

it was a morose time, because he couldn’t do much. as civilizations grew and became more complex, the need for law, justice, truth, and order became relevant again, and he grew stronger. gods are strong only in response to their necessity in life; thus the ideological gods fight a balance of needing to remain relevant but also needing to encourage the humans to live their best lives. sidney was caught in that loop, and it took him a while to come back to full strength. 

he still shows signs of his past trauma; he rarely leaves the hearts court, and he is more prone to checking and double checking his decisions on his scales (replaced with hardier versions but still golden scales) before enacting them in the material plane/human world.

tag yourself i’m understanding québécois but not speaking it (learning french and listening to habs games is an interesting time lol) so like is brad actually awake enough to know what’s happening or what bc some mornings i’ll wake up at 9 and not know what’s going on until 11 but i hope brad is still a little sleep soft and tuukka gets the Softe and Pure ™ version at first lol

🌙✨ –;; brad wishes that he was sleep soft but the fear of meeting someone new is hitting him harder than any monster or 5 hour energy could hope to. it’s not just that he’s meeting someone new; brad loves meeting new people, he’s an extrovert, he’s a guy who thrives on attention and friendship. but he’s about to meet the person whose husband he’s been fucking for the past eight months and he can only wonder what kind of person has patrice bergeron for a husband. he goes downstairs fully expecting the worst, and is quite shocked at several things. 

patrice is married to another man, for starters. brad’s not sure why but he thought patrice had a wife instead of a husband, though he guesses now it makes sense why he’s been so dodgy about answering questions about who exactly his partner is

he’s european, which for all the properties brad has visited he doesn’t quite know why he didn’t put together that they were all more or less in western europe, even though patrice is canadian, something brad took some kind of innocent security in, for whatever reason

he’s tall. maybe it’s just that brad is shorter than most – something he’s very insecure about but he makes up for it with his personality – but he wasn’t expecting patrice to be shorter than his own husband

he’s thin, thinner than brad expected. he’s not someone who hits the gym constantly – that costs money he doesn’t have – but jogging is free and so are push ups and brad likes to keep active, and he’s pretty secure in how he looks. pat’s sculpted, which is completely unfair, but the shoulder blades poking out through the thin white material of his shirt isn’t what brad was expecting

they’re both speaking different languages, and they both seem to know what’s going on even though there’s not any words that are in common – at least, that brad can discern. he hasn’t had his coffee yet, and for all he knows they could be talking poorly about him. (they’re not; pat is reminding tuukka to “play nice” and tuukka is reminding patrice to “relax”, but brad doesn’t know that)

patrice looks at him, even though he’s nervous, with so much love and affection that brad can’t help but be made aware that he is the one who does not belong. not patrice’s husband, but brad. but when patrice turns to look at brad, his eyes keep the same soft, adoring quality, and that’s too much to analyze first thing in the morning 

patrice’s husband turns around and brad is once again struck by the fact that this man is not what he had expected at all, but he slides him a plate with crepes artfully made and folded, stuffed with strawberries, bananas, and nutella, with powdered sugar sprinkled over top. it’s almost exactly what brad likes to order when patrice takes him out to their favored french cafe. almost, until he’s given a mug of coffee complete with a saucer, and a small dish with orange slices spread like a flower. he doesn’t know how to interpret this gesture, but patrice has a matching plate on the island next to him, so maybe this is just how this man operates? 

it’s harder still to get a read on how this man is feeling – his face reads as neutral, but not in a negative way, but brad supposes that’s what happens when you feel like you have nothing to lose. he probably should have packed before he came downstairs, or at least moved his things from the master bedroom to the guest room, since now the actual married couple is reunited. 

patrice makes introductions as brad takes a sip of his coffee, and finds that it’s been made perfectly, even with the amount of sugar he normally adds. “Brad, this is my husband, Tuukka. Love, this is my Bradley.” 

that sentence has too much to handle first thing in the morning, so brad merely nods. he’s not expecting tuukka to say, “I see now why he stuck around. He’s cute.” his voice is lighter in english, his accent cradling the vowels differently, but he’s fluent with no hesitations. for what it’s worth, patrice is also blushing, but brad doesn’t know what to do, so he just cuts a corner of the crepe off and eats it. 

it’s fucking delicious.

i feel like these three have very different ways of lashing out like pat is cool and controlled, brad is very dramatic and violent depending on the situation, but tuukka is the worst bc u have no idea-he’s very calm and cool when he ruins ur life with calculated incidents//hi when have we had concise answers/asks i just wanna know but stammer is a big mood and honestly i’d b the same way like i gotta yeet it after a meeting but oh lord i hope someone is loving sid after all that he needs it jfc

🌙✨ –;; that’s basically it, like pat is a leo through and through, like a cat he will wait until the opportune moment and then it’s lights out. for brad, the taurus, he’s just going to make The Most of a scene, he’s hurting and pissed off and everyone needs to know. and for tuukka, who goes for the jugular without meaning to most days, those fine pisces emotional weapons are charged and ready and what that means is however he feels is what you’re going to get.

a hollow dismissal? a rage filled snipe with an office supply? bilingual undressing at decibels only f-22′s can reach when they take off? no one knows, least of all tuukka!! he confuses himself sometimes with his outbursts!! 

meanwhile patrice and brad hear about it afterwards and are like “…..babe-” and he’s immediately “i don’t know why i did it. i just did.” 

sid doesn’t trust many people after everything that’s gone down; the only ones that he would trust are a select handful of other gods (chara, holtby, pk, and pekka, to be precise). out of those gods, the only ones he would trust with his emotional well-being to the depth that one needs to in order to heal from an event that bad are holtby and pk, so those are the ones that help him through it. he doesn’t really need another being in his life. 

he doesn’t deal with change well, can you tell? 

he’s also watched how both pekka and juuse have changed after their courtship and marriage, and also how tuukka is changing the more he’s around patrice (and to a lesser extent, brad around torey but really it’s that’s more of watching torey aggressively pursue brad and brad not knowing what to do about it because a very pretty sprite is suddenly interested in him and he doesn’t know what to do at all) and he’s not sure he’s ready to change in that kind of a way. he has to be objective when it comes to the balance of things in the world; he can’t let emotions get in the way of that. 

besides; he has friends who care about him and a job he loves. what more could he want?

🌙✨ –;; well, they all have soft spots for boston; brad because he moved there on a whim andd then realized maybe it wasn’t the best place to start up a music career but why not he’s never done anything the easy way. and of course they all have soft spots for their respective homes (nova scotia, quebec, and finland). the favorites of each outside of that would be, i think, southern italy for tuukka (because of the wines) and switzerland for brad (because of the snowboarding; pat and tuukka have a timeshare there but they don’t actually have a house bc they don’t go there as frequently). 

brad probably wouldn’t say that he has a sugar daddy, and he (historically) hasn’t been afraid of casual sex/fwb situations, so people know that he’s getting some (if he tells them/if they notice) and some people (like the ones that patrice introduces brad to) know that brad somehow met patrice and pat has taken him briefly under his wing, but they don’t know that he’s sleeping with him since pat is kind of tender and soft with everyone. at least, that’s the assumption; they’ve never seen him lose his cool, but he has before. 

it’s memorable, every time.

stamkos and chara are the old queens of the pantheon because they are the eldest of the gods. humans searching for explanations of why the sky does what it does (the one thing they cannot touch, in contrast to the seas and earth) is one of the oldest questions. so when chara made that vessel, he made them with the intent to answer those questions. thus, stamkos becomes a harpy who controls and shapes the world’s skies. 

the reason not a lot of other people show up is that the entire first book takes place within the godly realm. so the only other beings that are there are the gods themselves, and occasionally their sprites. i might take the chance to throw some cameos in there as various sprites, but in the end the only sprites that will get any big screen time/roles would be brad and torey, but they kind of develop along the trajectory of all three books, and yes, there is a third one planned now because i just…can’t…..stop myself. 

pk and holtby do have an interesting relationship! their domains are do have a fair amount in common, leading to them working together relatively frequently, though they have some personal matters that have bonded them. 

number one; holtby is kind of like the resident therapist. he’s the go-to guy for emotional problems, and while the same rules as our human therapists don’t apply in the slightest, he gets the job done. he played a large role in helping pk after things kind of fell to shit between him and hank (yes…you read that right). holtby is there with a mug of tea and a shoulder to cry on, blankets to cuddle in, and any amount of advice you could ever need. he’s also the god of fertility though so if emotional release of another kind is what you seek, he’s also there for that too. so yes, everyone in the pantheon has, at some point or another, had sex with holtby, and it varies in flavors and moods too, but that’s for a separate post 👀

number two; he and pk helped to put sid back together (literally) after the great disruption which is….a colossal godly civil war that tore apart the pantheon and resulted in the reset of all of humanity as humans remember it. it was a dark, dark time, and it’s part of the reason tuukka flips shit when he gets a human sacrifice for the first time in thousands of years. 

so they’ve worked together in a lot of ways, and they have a pretty solid friendship. they sit next to each other in pantheon meetings which is really fun

give me all the alcohol imagery i love; this au seems like syrupy sweet while other ones would be sweet like chocolate bc chocolate can be on its own and it’s right there but syrup is in the background and paired nicely with some pancakes or waffles probably made before pat and brad get up and stumble to the kitchen after an interesting night of good steak among other things

tuukka and brad are the only ones confident in their cooking abilities, but brad can barely afford nice new groceries because he’s very much an opportunity person, so he’ll just eat out because he’d rather pay $12 for a collection of fast food snacks rather than actually get groceries, have to plan meals, and execute them. he does keep ramen and instant noodles on hand, and a couple of other snack foods that he can turn into a meal if he needs to, but he primarily relies on dates with patrice and the leftovers thereof to have any kind of actual food in his apartment. 

tuukka, of course, is interested in only the best of the best, and he gets those at higher end grocery stores and farmers markets ��� ah, the duality of man. so it’s really patrice who is the one who gets doted on when it comes to food; it’s not that he can’t cook entirely, he just doesn’t have much practice and he has no qualms going to a 5 star restaurant by himself to get whatever food he so chooses. he’s good at following directions though, so he can follow a recipe; tuukka freestyles quite often but it winds up really good, so. they let it happen.

tampa bay lightning 🌩⚡️- they kind of exhaust me, ngl. there’s something about winning all the time that’s kind of boring and yes i know it’s kind of petty but it’s like…there’s not a lot of thrill when it comes to the games? idk man it’s like, just kind of boring i guess? i know they did a lot for bish and stamkos is the only aquarius captain in the league but aside from that i don’t know all that much

carolina hurricanes 🌪- i think they’re cute, i have no idea who is on the team anymore since they traded jeff, eddie, and eric away. i honestly only watch them when they play the rangers bc i enjoy sibling rivalries but since jordan hasn’t been playing i really haven’t been interested haha

freddie anderson 👨🏻‍🦰🥅- everyone’s wet for his fucking thighs and i think i would be in that camp since he is a ginger and he’s a thicc boy but unfortunately he is a leaf and leafs fans make me nauseous so! that’s a fantasy that will probably never happen. if he ever gets traded to a team i like, i have no doubt i’d support him, but until that day comes….he’s just kinda meh

victor hedman 🧔🏻🏒- he’s hairy and tired and i honestly have no opinions about him. he looks like he could either be incredibly soft and sweet or is an absolute monster, we’ll have to see

carter hart 🧑🏻🥅- everyone is all over him too, he’s a young flyers goalie and that’s about all that i know. he’s up there with conor mcdavid and jack eichel as far as “everyone loves them and i guess its because they have good hockey but i really don’t get it” in my mental list of men, at least

patrice goes where his job tells him to, but he does have a soft spot for boston, since it’s where he met brad, and he does have a weak spot for london since it’s a nice meeting place for he and either of his loves. a lot of flights from north america to europe stop over in london and if they happen to schedule a couple days for a layover….well, he and his bed (and his shower, and his couch, and his walls) aren’t one(s) to complain 😉

the sacrifice au pretty much just has these people in it that i’m willing to say as of right now, i know that there’s one more main character that gets added but his presence is a bit of a spoiler so! that’s the full cast that you’re dealing with as of right now ✨

brad and tuukka just look at each other: oh no he’s cute; i know tuukka can cook but i hope they go out for lunch/dinner and run around naples like idiots and like i know patrice is v private but i still want them to b cute pls

🌙✨ –;; well, both patrice and tuukka are very private, and tuukka doesn’t really like going out for other meals when he could just cook them at home. he’s kind of a homebody – it’s not to say that he doesn’t leave, he just doesn’t really gravitate to that. patrice will take brad out for little outings and what not, like they have been, and it helps to decompress and answer a couple of questions and concerns, but the three of them aren’t going to be out and about in the public eye together, if ever. ( lets not forget brad is 12 years younger than patrice and 10 years younger than tuukka, so…it’s not just the fact that he’s a man that people would have issues with, if they were to go public with anything. )

brad also takes some time for himself to explore naples and anywhere else in italy he can get to within a day’s travel, call home, etc. he needs time on his own to evaluate what he’s doing, even if he’s aware that everything that he’s doing, wearing, seeing, experiencing is because of another man’s dime. and it’s also to give patrice and tuukka some time alone together because they didn’t see each other all that much both due to their work schedules and patrice spending time with brad. they need to talk out some things on their own end, and it’s nice to be with each other since it happens infrequently enough as it is. 

tuukka has a pretty mild reaction to brad, all things considered. it’s nice to put a face to the name and financial expenditures, and he seems like a decent person, and their meeting mattered quite a bit to patrice. he doesn’t give him the shovel talk or anything like that, but he does explain that the reason he wanted to meet him is because he matters a lot to patrice and makes him happy, and therefore he matters to tuukka as well. he’s not going to get in between them or what they have – he hasn’t for the past eight months, he’s not about to start now – but it is a step that needed to be said. he also tells brad that, should his arrangement ever end with patrice, he will still end up successful. pat always leaves a person better off than when he found them, even if it takes a while. but, he does conclude with a very serious note that brad, essentially, isn’t allowed to say anything to anyone about the fact that they are married. they keep their private life private, for a good reason. their industries don’t overlap all that often, and the world is more progressive now, but it’s simply easier to ignore public drama if the public knows nothing factual at all. 

they’ll be plenty cute in their own way, but this verse is kind of a quiet, smoldering kind of verse rather than one of lightheartedness – it’s certainly there, but it’s not the default, i guess is what i’m saying??
