A small aesthetic board I've made for one of my favourites:
Bellatrix Lestrange
Tumblr media
partly inspired by her character in this story
Some random HC's for her:
· the oldest of the three Black sisters
· top of her class in Hogwarts, absolutely adored potions classes
· wanted to be a Quidditch chaser until realized it was easier said than done, never became one, but is relatively good with a broom still
· parents forced her to learn violin, broke at least five of the instruments while learning. got punished for that and turned her protest into learning to play Irish songs in her spare time
· constant academic rivalry with Rodolphus Lestrange, hated him from the depth of her heart throughout school years
· her strongest bond in the family was with Andromeda, her leaving with Ted Tonks hurt on a whole new personal level
· issues, definition of a child grown up feeling like she is never enough. she was a firstborn and a girl and Cygnus Black was not fond of her for that
· her patronus was a panther, same as her animagi form (unregistered animagi, miss Black was a criminal already at Hogwarts)
· kind of envied Sirius for his freedom but would never admit it
· black tea is the drink that kept her alive through Hogwarts, one of the mix of smells Amortentia feels to her
· her and Rodolphus Lestrange was an arranged marriage, nobody cared that they hated each other, after Andromeda ran off the parents just wanted to get the girls settled as quick as possible
· the fact that they hated each other when they entered the marriage however does not mean that it stayed same way throughout their life. Especially not after Azkaban

Theitsa they are doing it again! Now they depict Andromeda as black African princess and people again in the comments are trying to debate it and make it again about color instead of ethnicity...😅
Literally no one is even questioning how problematic and rude it is to take a character from GREEK mythology and erasing it from it's ethnicity.
oooooof.......
Disclaimers:
>> No skintone is superior or "better" than others. This blog doesn't stand for that
>> Greek culture has space for all people
>> It would be equally inaccurate to present Andromeda with the appearance of a North European, like blue eyes and blonde
To the video:
>> The video misrepresented the location of Aethiopia (Andromeda was middle eastern, not South African! Andromeda is the mother of Persians, according to our mythology, who are... Asian!)
>> The video disregards all ancient Greek texts and depictions of Andromeda. I don't know how to say this but.... if you are speaking about myths from another culture, better respect the texts and the depictions of the culture. Regarding Greek culture, it is a cultural convention to follow our depictions.
>> The video creators probably based her depiction off Ovid's description which was 1) the only one of its kind saying Andromeda had dark skin 2) Racist af the way he wrote it 3) Ovid is a hack and misrepresented Greek myths a lot (people seriously discourage having Ovid as a source. He pulled many things out of his ass and ignored the actual Greek myths)
>> The channel that produced the video is Afrocentric in the negative sense of the word. The viewers themselves write blanket statements that are historically inaccurate, like "people forgot that all Egyptian dynasties were black except for the last dynasty which is the Ptelomaic dynasty", "The original Greeks are the Estruscians and Minoans who are Nubian Cushites" and "Greek mythology is full of Black people and they want to erase us from it", "The Greeks and black Africa were tight. They clearly got along without racism. They lived during a time when Africans were highly respected while Europeans ( other than Greeks) were feared and rejected as barbarians. Greek and Roman descriptions of other Europeans were frightening. Their descriptions of black Africans were filled with awe and respect."
I would be extremely happy if these statements were factually true - if our people had very close ties with African nations, if ancient Greeks spoke highly of Africans and didn't represent them stereotypically, etc - but it's not supported by archaeological evidence. To ignore the evidence is to spit to the effort and intelligence of generations of Greeks and xenoi who have gathered and continue to gather this evidence.
Let's not stand a lot to the more voyeuristic and fetishizing comments about "Black"* women. They speak for themselves. But may I stand on a while on other comments that reek of conspiracy theorist logic... "it's sad how blind people can be to Truth." and "That's why the jealousy to destroy and re-educate is so great. The Envy of the ancestors", "No wonder I was obsessed with so called Greek mythology because it’s our people not theirs."

Stop calling all historians and archaeologists worldwide hacks! Please, for the love of whatever you hold dear. They've been trying to uncover as much as they can! Greeks, Egyptians, and all sorts of people with all sorts of appearances are in this domain! It's not to their advantage to hide anything! Not worldwide! Not even in the US, to be honest. (The research there is exhaustive too, and biases don't stay covered for long)
The results not fitting your ideal image doesn't mean they are fake. Do I really need to explain how much, constant work archaeologists do, and how most of them strive to reach the truth as much as possible?? If there were depictions of Andromed as "Black"* and ancient Greek texts that supported it, and people were hiding them or destroying them, yes, then I would agree that something bad was going on. But that's just not the case!
Systemic oppression, racism, and biases in scientific domains are very real, don't get me wrong. But Andromeda's depiction has little to do with it. We have overwhelming archaeological evidence of how she looked, and it would be wrong to ignore them. Not only out of respect for the culture one is entertained by, but also because that's the objective reality.
Here you can find a huge detailed, exhaustive essay about the appearance and ethnicity of Andromeda, with sources and depictions. It is more empowering to have your facts straight than to believe appealing falsehoods.
* In quotation marks cause it's a slur in my language

What are your thoughts on Bella's relationship with her family, her sisters and parents? Do you agree that she was 'abused'? And who do you think she was the closest to?
No, I don't absolutely agree she was abused in any way. I think that notion comes from the misconception of what normality was like for an ancient family of dark wizards. You cannot expect from the Blacks a Weasley or a muggle beahivior.
Bella was born into a family of wolves, and wolves have their own culture and their own ways of treating their kind. If they showed teeth, that doesn't mean Bella registered it as abuse. She was a wolf with teeth of her own.
I actually think Bella was spoiled rotten by her family and even very loved, at least in the best way they knew how. Loving someone and understanding someone are two very different things, sometimes hindering each other. You can only love someone as you are able, and perhaps not in the way they would need, your own limitations heavy on the equation.
I think Bella was very loved by her family, even considered a reason of pride really, yet I don't think they could actually truly understand her - her vision, her dreams and needs, too unconventional and free for the kind of aristocracy she was born in.
Narcissa was much more the epitome of the "perfect pureblood daughter" on paper, yet I think everyone in the family still had a preference for Bella, even if she was in a constant personality clash with all the adults in her life.
That's why ultimately Voldemort became so important to her, he gave her true self life, her dreams wings. Voldemort freed her from the golden cage she was born in, actually giving her the keys to it. He helped her become who she had always felt destined to become.
As for family relations, I think Cygnus had a soft spot for Bella, but that he actually saw her more as he imagined her to be (the perfect, yet only there to be admired crown jewel of his house of stars) than as she truly was (a jewel yes, but a diamond, cutting through everything and weaponized), and I think this fact progressively made their relationship sink. The more Bella grew up and saw Voldemort as her fatherly figure, the more she did not fit that mental image anymore.
Regarding Druella, I imagine her really fond of Bella, but deep down equally scared for and of her. I think she saw who Bella was much more clearly than Cygnus, and even while wanting for her daughter what she couldn't have (emancipation from only being a lady at the arm of a powerful man), I don't think she actually ever accepted for it to become reality, or better, I don't think she thought it ultimately worth the risk. In fact I think she was the one that insisted Bella should marry into a powerful family and soon, perhaps hoping to shield her from the repercussions of the cause - not knowing the Lestranges were actually already under Bella in the DE hierarchy.
As for her sisters, I think Bella was very fond and protective of them just as much as she was loved by them, but again their fundamental differences and mindsets progressively set them emotionally apart.
I don't think Narcissa ever understood Bella's need for revolution and power, nor her admiration and then eventual love for Voldemort, things that she absolutely resented more and more. I think Narcissa saw Bella as the one who brought trouble into the perfection of her family, first in her childhood and then in her marriage and she never forgave her for it. I think her actions in the last book originated precisely from that. It wasn't only the action of a mother protecting her son, but also sly retribution towards both Vold and her sister for bringing so much terror and despair into her life.
Andromeda, on the other hand, more like Bella in both looks and character, originally idolized her, seeing her as her hero and role model, until she eventually realized just how far she had gone and how much her life would be inconvenienced by the war her sister had helped to start. I think Andromeda had always wanted to be just like Bella in theory, but lacked much of the actual qualities that made Bella such a spirited and fearless creature. I think Andromeda backed away at the first sight of hardship or horror. I'm absolutely convinced Andromeda run away with Ted more out of spite and to prove herself something, that she too could rebel and have her own life (albeit in a much more reserved and safe fashion), than out of love for Ted, or genuine disdain towards the cause. I have a real soft spot for Surrogate's characterization of Andromeda, I love her ruthlessness and badassery, the idea that everything happened because of and out of jealousy for Voldemort's place in Bella's heart, but I ultimately think that the real Andromeda's actions were in truth much more selfish and lacking depth. She probably was somehow jealous Bella was becoming the head of their family, angered no one was reining her in, permitting her to shake their lifestyle to the core and now even threatening the muggle pet that made her feel so superior and special. I think that made her snap.
Despite all of this, I'm convinced Bella never stopped deep down loving her sisters. That doesn't mean she wasn't conscious and outraged by their behaviour, though. I don't think Bella loved them blindly. Even while loving Voldemort blindly she still could discern clearly when he was absolutely wrong. It's a sign of great intelligence and presence of mind and spirit.
As for closeness, I actually think she was closest to Sirius. Of course their path split pretty rapidly after he run away and Bella became the embodiment of Voldemort's cause, but even years later, after Azkaban's hell and while duelling, you could see the fondness they still had for each other while they teased each other at the Department of Mysteries. Also, Bella clearly killed him by mistake.

Andromeda Tonks: The Healer and Researcher Making Waves in the Wizarding World
Hey, scandal seekers! Time for another dose of juicy gossip from The Enchanted Echo, the go-to source for all the dirt in the British wizarding world. And today, we've got a special treat for you – an inside look at the amazing Andromeda Tonks.
But first, let's answer the burning question on everyone's minds – who the heck is Andromeda Tonks? Well, let us tell you – she's a total boss. Born on October 28, 1952 into the elite Black family, Andromeda attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and was sorted into Slytherin house (because let's be real, who doesn't love a little ambition?). While at Hogwarts, Andromeda excelled academically and became a Prefect, Head Girl, and member of various clubs and organizations like the Slug Club, Runes Club, Astronomy Club, and Orchestra. Talk about a packed schedule!
But growing up wasn't always easy for Andromeda. As the second daughter of an heirless pureblood family, she was sometimes seen as a disappointment (can you believe it?). However, Andromeda had a close relationship with her older sister, Bellatrix, and developed a strong protective instinct for her younger sister, Narcissa, and her cousins Sirius and Regulus Black.
As the Wizarding War raged on, Andromeda stayed at Hogwarts and made the most of her time at the school. But as her family's views became more extreme, Andromeda started to question the pureblood ideology and eventually left her family to marry Ted Tonks, an alleged member of the Order of the Phoenix. Together, Andromeda and Ted have a young daughter and are known for their strong alliance with the Order.
Now, Ted Tonks is a bit of a mystery, with his involvement in the Order of the Phoenix being the subject of much speculation. Some say he's a key member of the Order, working tirelessly behind the scenes to fight against the forces of darkness. Others think he's just a supportive husband, standing by Andromeda's side as she fights for what she believes in. Whatever the truth is, one thing's for sure – Andromeda and Ted make an unstoppable team, and their love and support for each other is unwavering.
But enough about Ted – let's get back to Andromeda. As a talented and dedicated healer, Andromeda is known for her kindness and compassion towards her patients. She's worked tirelessly to improve the lives of those in the wizarding community, and her contributions to the field of healing have not gone unrecognized. In fact, one of her former patients, Mrs. Diggory, had this to say about Andromeda: "She was always so gentle and understanding, and she really took the time to listen to my concerns. I don't think I would have made it through my recovery without her support." In addition to her work as a healer, Andromeda is also actively involved in various research projects, always looking for ways to push the boundaries of magic and make a positive impact on the world.
Despite her pureblood upbringing and her family's reputation, Andromeda has always had a thirst for knowledge and a desire to understand the world around her. She was known for asking a lot of questions and seeking answers in the family library, always curious about what made her family and the wizarding world different from Muggles. It is this curiosity and her desire to make a difference in the world that have driven Andromeda to achieve success in both her personal and professional life.
However, Andromeda's journey hasn't always been smooth sailing. As a member of a pureblood family, she's faced criticism and discrimination from those who believe in the superiority of purebloods. But Andromeda has always stood firm in her beliefs and has never let the opinions of others deter her from pursuing her dreams. In fact, when asked about the criticism she has faced, Andromeda had this to say: "I may come from a pureblood family, but that doesn't define who I am. I believe in equality and justice for all, and I will always stand up for what I believe in."
Rumors and speculation have surrounded Andromeda for years. Some say that she is secretly working on a top-secret research project that could change the world of magic as we know it. Some even claim that she has discovered a way to extend the lifespan of magical creatures or that she is developing a potion to cure any and all ailments. While these rumors remain unverified, one thing is for sure – Andromeda's tireless pursuit of knowledge and understanding have made her a role model for many.
In addition to her professional achievements, Andromeda is also known for her strong alliance with the Order of the Phoenix. Alongside her husband Ted, Andromeda has been a key member of the organization, working tirelessly to fight against the forces of darkness. But not everyone is a fan of Andromeda's involvement with the Order – some say that she is putting herself and her family in danger by associating with them. Others believe that her pureblood upbringing and her family's reputation make her an unlikely ally of the Order.
Despite the criticism and discrimination she has faced, Andromeda has always stood firm in her beliefs and has never let the opinions of others deter her from pursuing her dreams. She is a beacon of hope and inspiration for those around her, and her determination to make a difference has earned her the respect and admiration of her peers. Andromeda Tonks is truly a remarkable woman, and her achievements and contributions to the wizarding world are truly impressive.
But it's not just Andromeda's professional life that has everyone talking. She's also known for being quite the social butterfly, frequently attending fancy events and hobnobbing with the elite of the wizarding world. Rumor has it that she's had a string of high-profile relationships, including a rumored fling with none other than Gilderoy Lockhart. Can you believe it?
But despite her social status and her pureblood pedigree, Andromeda is known for being down-to-earth and approachable. She's always been a beacon of hope and inspiration for those around her, and her determination to make a difference has earned her the respect and admiration of her peers.
So there you have it, dear readers – a closer look at the amazing Andromeda Tonks. Whether she's working as a healer, conducting research, or turning heads at the latest gala, Andromeda is truly a remarkable woman and an asset to the wizarding community. Keep an eye out for her at the next big event, and who knows – you might just get the chance to rub elbows with this fabulous witch.
So, is Andromeda Tonks the perfect woman? Some might say so. She's intelligent, successful, and beautiful – what more could you ask for? But don't let her perfection fool you – there's more to Andromeda than meets the eye. She's faced her fair share of challenges and hardships, and has come out on top every time. Whether she's working as a healer, pushing the boundaries of magic, or turning heads at a party, Andromeda Tonks is a force to be reckoned with.
She's always been a beacon of hope and inspiration for those around her, and her determination to make a difference has earned her the respect and admiration of her peers. Andromeda Tonks is truly a remarkable tireless pursuit of knowledge and understanding have made her a role model for many. It's no wonder that she is so well-respected and admired by her peers.
But Andromeda's journey hasn't always been easy. As a member of a pureblood family, she has faced criticism and discrimination from those who believe in the superiority of purebloods. Andromeda has always stood firm in her beliefs, however, and has never let the opinions of others deter her from pursuing her dreams.
In fact, Andromeda has always been a beacon of hope and inspiration for those around her, and her determination to make a difference has earned her the respect and admiration of her peers. Whether she's working as a healer, conducting research, or fighting against the forces of darkness, Andromeda always gives her all and never backs down from a challenge.
So, if you see Andromeda out and about in the wizarding world, don't be afraid to approach her and strike up a conversation. She's a kind and friendly person with a lot to share, and we're sure you'll find her just as fascinating as we do. Keep reading The Enchanted Echo for more updates on all the latest news and rumors in the wizarding world.

COD OC part 2 electric boogaloo 🫧 again I'm so sorry this is just another dump and I fear this one may be longer
My second OC has a name! He's called Damien Ashcroft, who goes by Crow. I like to attribute music to any stories I write or characters I come up with, similar to Bandito and My Blood for Bandito. I'm thinking of Time by Missio or Don't cry by Palaye Royale for him.
He's super tall, but more of a lean swimmer's build than burly or stocky. He has multiple piercings in his ears, a lip ring, and a tongue piercing. There is a nasty scar running from the bottom right of his jaw up through his bottom lip, which he covers up with a black face mask. He has 2 tattoos - one is ivy which wraps around his left hand and up his bicep, and a sleeve on his right arm of snakes and flowers, but like really delicate linework. He also wears a lot of rings, including both of his parents' wedding rings (indeed, tragic backstory hehe I love traumatising fictional characters). Damien prefers alt fashion, lots of chains etc, but he always wears a black turtleneck to cover his throat.
He's pretty unsettling, he has dead black eyes and a blank expression under his mask, so he's fully aware that he's pretty ominous and bordering on terrifying and he just sort of leans into it. He stares down cocky new recruits, keeps to himself, and resigns himself to being the scary quiet one of the group. In reality, he's honestly just a ball of anxiety and poor social skills. He's scared of getting too close to the 141 because he doesn't understand the emotions that come alongside it, he's just painfully shy and nervous. It also doesn't help that all of his previous superiors have been inconsiderate pieces of shit who didn't hesitate to scream at him for his 'insubordination' (more on that later) or even lay hands on him for it. So naturally he's pretty scared of Price and is very confused that he's actually very nice and even gentle.
He's called Crow because of his quiet, ominous nature, his foreboding presence, and his sniping talent (that's his specialisation). He also picks up the name 'Coffee' with the 141. It's more light-hearted, and refers to his over-reliance on coffee to stay awake through the day (night terrors because this sad lump has been put through the ringer). Some of the recruits who are a little cocky or scared of him call him 'bitter like coffee,' but they don't realise that he actually drinks his coffee with lots of sugar, milk, and even coffee syrups. Cinnamon and caramel are his favourites.
Crow was orphaned as a young teenager, I've not decided an exact age, but probably around 11-14. Both of his parents were member of the military and were KIA. He was left in the care of a not very nice uncle and did what he had to in order to survive, then enlisted as soon as he was old enough, both to honour his parents' legacy and get away from his uncle. He excelled quickly and found he had a natural talent with a sniper rifle, and was soon promoted to Sergeant. However, tragedy struck while on a high-stakes mission behind enemy lines. It was meant to be a simple recon mission, with him covering his team from afar while they secured an abandoned village for their Operation to use as a base. However, they were ambushed. Damien's entire team was killed, and he was seriously injured and beaten within an inch of his life before his throat was slit and he was left for dead. Although Crow survived, his throat sustained permanent damage, particularly his vocal chords, and it left him with a lot of difficulty speaking. Saying more than a few words is pretty painful and he has trouble actually getting much noise out so he usually stays silent. He was transferred a couple of times to teams with some quite shitty superiors, as mentioned above, who didn't take his silence too nicely.
I've actually started writing a little bit for Crow, and who knows, maybe one day I'll post it. He's just a lil' guy. He does write to two of my other OCs, Dobermann and Andromeda, every so often - Dobermann is his childhood friend and they both went through boot camp with Andromeda.
This is going to be a short response, but I love him. I love his facial scar and I need to know more about how he got the scar, please and thank you. Him, Andromeda, and Dobermann being friends heals the scars of my soul, are they chaotic friends? What type of friendship do they all have?
I must learn more.

I saw your post and I’m always down for more Andromione so:
Andromeda and Hermione tell Narcissa they are a couple.
fancy idea! thanks
Toujours Pur, my dear sister.
She had been sitting in a fine living room, breathing deeply, stress was over her. In the back of her head, she had been hearing over and over as her mother had been yelling to her. It was her last memory od her. Chandelier with candles, green walls and white carpet. Crystal chairs, ice-blue eyes looking directly at her.
“Andromeda.” The elegant woman said. Her name was a pleasant soft, an amazing assemblage of letters, which always had been associated with warm. But hearing her saying it, made her cold, she felt shivers all over her body. This did not sound like her name.
“Narcissa,” she responded, feeling more anxious than a moment before. She looked at the other woman in the room but it didn’t change the direction of the ice-blue eyes.
“She will make me go away the moment she sees you.” Andromeda had said in a disappointed voice with a sigh. She had looked her lover in the eyes, searching for any kind of help, understanding. She had taken her hand in hers, “I don’t want such a treat for you, my love.”
“She won’t see me.” Hermione had smiled with sadness and put a finger on the elder woman’s lips when she had wanted to say something. “She won’t even look at me. She won’t because I’m a muggle-born. For her, I don’t exist. There will be just you and her.”
“It has been what? Decades?” She said with a voice that could kill. Only years of living with her, helped her with keeping a straight face. “What brings you here after decades of running away, sister?” She could feel the irony of that word in the air around them.
Andromeda looked at Hermione once again and with a deep breath, turned her face to Narcissa’s direction. “Yo- our parents died a long time ago. When it happened, Bellatrix was in Azkaban. When it happened, I was still disowned. All of that made you,” she emphasized, “the head of The House of Black.” Now, she was looking at her with a newfound confidence. “The moment my husband died, the act of yo- our parents lost its power. This made you my head of house. And now, I need to speak to you as my head of house. Not my sister.” Oh, she tried, she so desperately tried to put in that word as much venom as she could. As much as Narcissa had done. But instead - it sounded like a longing, disappointing cry for help.
Narcissa gently raised an eyebrow, in a silent sign ordering her to continue. She felt her own fingernails digging into her skin every time Andromed on an accident, wanted to call their parents - Narcissa’s parents. It was like another cut in the heart - Andromeda didn’t even think of them as a family.
“I am a Black - and as a Black, a member of The Noble and Most Ancient House, I need my head of house’s acceptance on my union.” She looked at Hermione with a smile and gently took her hand, entwining their fingers together. She raised their hands. “I need you to accept her as my partner.”
For the first time, the ice-blue eyes looked at something else than Andromeda. Her cold gaze making Hermione want to disappear.
The first thing she noticed was her jawline. The features of her face were not noble, her posture and facial expression did not indicate years of being raised at banquets, under the tutelage of iron rules. Her hair - completely un-elegant, badly styled - only made her situation worse. And her clothes. A black suit instead of a colorful, lavish dress. She noticed she wasn’t a pureblood.
Narcissa smiled. But it wasn’t a pleasant smile and she didn’t even try to hide it. “Toujours Pur, my dear sister. Only you could disappoint your family two times the same way.” She stood up and walked up to them. Andromeda did the same in a second. She was taller than Narcissa but even Hermione could feel the aura of superiority of the youngest sister. She was killing her with her gaze for a long moment before she spoke up, “however...” She looked away with a visible sign of pain. “I have Bella. I have my eldest sister next to me. But it does not change the fact that I want my elder sister back.”
Hermione stood up and placed her hand on Andromeda’s back, seeing as she was slowly falling apart. “I lost everything. I was not as brave as you were. The war took with it the husband I have never wanted, the son I have loved the most, the world I have always known. I cannot lose something else.”
It was the first time when Narcissa had the chance to hear the voice of any Andromeda’s lover. “It doesn’t work like that. You’re not her family, Narcissa.” Hermione knew what she was doing, using her first name. The disrespect that elder woman felt. The desperate try to hide her hurt heart. “You have to earn the right to be called- considered as one. If you really want her in your life, try.” She looked at her with a challenging gaze. Andromeda tried to burn the feeling of hope that started to grow somewhere deep in her.
Narcissa looked at her with a numb eyes. On one hand, she wanted her sister back. After years of being scattered all over the world, she wanted her sisters close to herself. However, she did not want to have anything in common with a mudbl- muggle-born witch. It was almost unrealistic and she wanted to laugh at the thought of doing so.
“You will have the approval of the head of house.”

Mystery Solved?
Scott gets curious about Andromeda
Tagging: @melyaliz @lizartgurl @dilpickledd @speedypan @coffee-randomness
Read Earlier Parts Here
A/N Mentions of child neglect
Scott had to admit maybe he had taken things a little too far. But then again it had been a bit of an accident. He knew something was up with Andromeda however what he had discovered was not what he expected.
He knew her stories didn’t always line up like she was hiding something but he wasn't sure what. With his training he had thought the worse, she was somehow a spy sent to gather intel on them. Hey if he could be trained to be an X-men what would be the odds of her being a spy. Especially since she was so reluctant to talk about her parents, till he found out the truth.
The first hint of truth came when he accidentally spotted her at the mall during winter break. Jean had gone to visit her family but Scott still wanted to get her a present for when she was to return. It took him a while to realize who she was when she passed by him. She looked so… normal. Andromeda's face was free of makeup, her coat was simple yet it seemed old but her pants were loose instead of tight. He didn’t like it, it somehow just didn’t seem like her.
He didn’t mean to follow them that day but he couldn’t help but be a bit intrigued. Usually when he spotted her outside of school she was still in her usual style. Those dramatic lace shirts, the makeup that was always perfectly done, the ripped jeans or shorts. So he didn’t understand the sudden change. Then he noticed the other things, how she seemed to trail behind her family, how she kept her head down as if trying to hide herself. Then he noticed her parents how they seemed to ignore her yet would constantly put her little brother in their line of sight. Scott frowned as he saw them leave and something seemed off.
When they came back to school Scott noticed she was in a bit of a mood. Her usual teasing playful self was gone.
“Hey, how was your break?” Scott asked as he sat down next to her.
“Good.” She muttered as she doodled on her paper a little too aggressively.
“What did you do?” He asked.
“Nothing really.”
“Did you-“
“Class is starting.” She snapped, opening her book.
“Right.” He mumbled, glancing at her worriedly.
It took awhile for her to warm up to him again, for a second he feared she realized he was spying on them that day. Instead she blamed her mood on the weather claiming it always made her feel down when it was cold. He could tell she was telling the truth but he couldn’t help but feel like maybe there was something more to it.
The second hint came when they had to work on a project together. Scott couldn't help but notice how she frowned when the teacher gave the announcement. The project was going to be a big portion of their grade.
"We could work on it at your place." Scott said as they started discussing what to do.
"Could we maybe meet up at the library instead?" She asked, biting her lip nervously.
“Yeah sure.” Scott nodded. “Just let me know what time.”
When she finally got back to him on a time to meet up he was shocked to see she also had a small list on how to look.
“Just um just look presentable, not that you don't already, it's just…” She trailed off and sighed. “I’ll see you tonight.”
So he waited for her in front of the library just like she asked, smoothing down his favorite red polo making sure his clothes didn't have any wrinkles. He looked up and slowly realized that Andromeda was walking up to him with what he assumed was her mother and her little brother. She looked what would be deemed as normal, a simple soft blue shirt and loose jeans.
“Scott?” The woman said.
“Hello.” Scott said holding his hand out, she stared at him suspiciously.
“You are Andromeda's lab partner.”
“Yes.”
“And you are going to be working on a project together.”
“Yeah that’s the plan. The project is due at the end of the week and we want to get it done as soon as possible.” Scott said, smiling politely.
Her mother simply nodded and turned to the siblings. “One hour.”
Andromeda nodded and walked up to Scott, her brother staying close to her side. Once inside Andromeda seemed to relax.
"So you're Scott." Her little brother said.
"Yup, and I'm guessing your Adonis." Scott replied.
"I am." Adonis nodded and stared at him curiously. "What's with the shades?"
"Donnie." Andromeda scolded.
"No it's okay." Scott smiled. "I just have a really sensitive eye condition. I need the shades to help me see."
"Huh alright." Adonis said.
It wasn't till then that Scott realized Andromeda was the only person who never questioned him about his shades. Same like how he never really commented on the tattoo she had on her back. Like there was somehow a strange understanding about them.
"What's your favorite sport?" Adonis asked, breaking Scott's train of thought.
Scott didn't mind answering the random questions Adonis kept asking. He couldn't help but be reminded of his own little brother, wondering if he was still around would he have become friends with Adonis. Andromeda had settled on making their poster board trying to make it look as presentable as possible. Occasionally she would chime into the conversation adding her own questions when she would find something about him intriguing.
"Wait hold up, you live at that huge mansion that's by the woods?" Adonis asked.
"Yeah that's the one." Scott said.
"Huh I always wondered what that place was." Adonis wondered out loud.
“Maybe one day you two can come over.” Scott said.
"Yeah maybe." Adonis mumbled, Scott couldn't help but notice he shared the same look Andromeda would give him whenever he mentioned anything about meeting after school.
"How's it looking?" Andromeda asked, distracting him with the drawing she was working on for the poster board.
All the clues finally got into place the day they went on a field trip for their chemistry class.
When the teacher announced the upcoming trip Andromeda frowned just how she did the day the project had been announced. She was the only one who seemed to be interested and constantly held her hand up to ask questions though her questions were mainly about the time frame of the trip.
Still she was there a little out of breath but she had managed to catch the bus before it left. They hardly spoke as she fixed herself up, Scott noticing little things about how hastily her outfit seemed to have been thrown on. During the tour of the Science Museum they were visiting Andromeda took her notes but he couldn’t help but notice how she would check her watch every so often.
“Looking for your name?” Scott asked, they were currently taking a break in the small gift shop.
Andromeda smiled and let out a small scoff as she browsed through the beaker shaped keychains that had names etched into them.
“The day I find a keychain with my name on it will be the day pigs fly. No, my brother and I have a running joke, we either try to find our nicknames or we find the most ridiculous name that’s not ours. Oh look here’s yours.” She held up a small keychain and laughed. “It even matches your glasses.”
"I'm guessing by that you mean it's red." Scott said.
"Oh yeah." Andromeda paused. "Can you only see red through your shades?"
"Pretty much." Scott said watching as Andromeda turned her attention back to the names.
"That's gotta suck." Andromeda mumbled her eyebrow suddenly raising. "So they have Donatello but no Don or Donnie but they have Dawn with a-w."
“They have Donna.” Scott said as he scanned the names.
“Ohh yes, nice one.” Andromeda approved as she grabbed the key chain and flipped it over.
As a frown crossed her face Scott knew she probably wasn't going to buy it. He couldn’t help but notice her fingers moving like the way they did when she had to count. She slowly put it back.
“Are you not going to get it?” He asked carefully.
“Um not right now, maybe when we leave.” Andromeda said, making her way out of the shop.
During lunch Andromeda had hung back a bit making Scott pause to look at her.
“Why don't you go ahead? I wanna get a good look at the menu.” She said smiling though it didn’t really meet her eyes.
“Yeah sure.” Scott said, waking forward.
He glanced back every so often finding her off to the side counting her money. When it was Scott’s turn to order he looked back and saw that Andromeda was now standing in line.
“Could I actually place an order for someone else?” Scott asked after he finished ordering his food.
“Sure kid.” The woman as she finished typing his order.
“It’s for the girl in the black lace shirt.” Scott said placing her order and giving the cashier the money.
“You got it.” The lady said, barely glancing up.
Scott got his food and walked off to a table pulling out his sheet and double checking his answers.
“You didn't have to do that.” Andromeda said standing beside him holding a tray with the food he had ordered her.
“Do what?” He asked, trying to act innocent. Andromeda sighed as she sat down next to him.
“Why do you have to be such a golden boy?” Andromeda suddenly asked taking Scott off guard.
“I’m sorry what?”
“It's just… your just so…” Andromeda huffed. “I just don't get you Scott Summers. You act like this goody two shoes yet you have this weird air of mystery around you. You're polite yet I could count the amount of friends you have on one hand. And I just don't know what to think about you.”
“Funny.” Scott said, a little taken aback by the backhanded compliment. “I could say the same thing about you.”
"I… what?" Andromeda asked, looking at Scott confused.
“You have a kind heart Andromeda yet you have a tendency of hiding behind this tough girl act. And I see that you try to make friends but you tend to guard yourself before you can get hurt.” Scott said.
Andromeda looked down at her food taken off guard by his comment. She seemed to be thinking of something deeply and finally she sighed and looked up at him.
“My parents have always been a bit strict. But ever since I turned a certain age they sorta went overboard.” Andromeda frowned as she glanced down. “It was hard enough being the new girl in school, it was even harder when no one really wanted to put in the effort of being my friend… there’s a reason I’ve been so hesitant with you. You’re such a golden boy I feel like you wouldn’t want to do what it takes to be my friend.”
“I’m not that much of a golden boy.” Scott frowned and Andromeda raised an eyebrow. “You should at least give me a chance.”
“Alright Summers, you got a deal.” Andromeda said, holding her hand out for him to shake.
Scott smiled and shook it hoping that maybe now he’d really be able to get to know her.

Almost |tumblr|: That almost-kiss moment in ME1. (Now with an accompanying gif set!)
Objects in Motion |tumblr|: Mass Effect physics mean that hurling human bodies at a measurable fraction of the speed of light is possible, but not necessarily advisable.

Black is the New Orange |tumblr|: The fit of the uniform the Alliance gives her during her house arrest is right, but the color is wrong.

Non-specific Shepards
Heat Dissipation |tumblr|: It’s hot on the Normandy. A little too hot for Kaidan, much to Shepard’s delight.
Flare |Ao3|tumblr|: Kaidan has a biotic flare. (NSFW, shameless smut)
Thoughts of a Shooting Star |Ao3|tumblr|:  As Shepard drifts toward an uncertain fate over Alchera, her thoughts turn toward her last happy memories.

Additional information ––– –
Smoking Habit: None. Drugs: None. Alcohol: Yes.
Possible Hooks ––– –
A New Dragoon: For a few cycles Fayne had been enlisted into the Order of Dragoons with the good word of a member of House Dzemael. Though she is no longer part of the order, she is sure to have met a few new faces in Ishgard.
You look oddly familiar: Fayne has frequented a few local taverns to take the edge off the day of work. She is also a blossoming dancer and probably has been on a dance floor or two to strut her stuff.
What are you hunting?: Before the Order of Dragoons Fayne was often picking up hunt marks to make money. Both with the Grand Companies and the Centurio Clan (after her transformation to Au Ra).
I need an escort/something delivered: Fayne helps her husband run an FC with various mercenaries who can escort your caravan to it’s destination or make a simple delivery for you.
What I’m Looking For ––– –
Contacts and Friends!: I’m trying to broaden out a bit more and meet more people. I haven’t RPed with anyone new in a while. Feel free to message me if you ever want to chat or RP!
Shipping: Friendships, relationships, hateships, even mentors!
Adventures: Despite being a mother of (almost) two Fayne is not ready to be a stay at home mom. She has traveled far too much in her life and wants to continue to do so.
Family Friendly Fun: Because Fayne is a mother of (almost) two she is also learning how to be there for her children. I also have an alt I heavily RP with who is a mother of two (and more to come). So slice of life, diner and amusement park RPs are very okay!
Backstory: A portion of my characters back stories are left intentionally blank in case someone wants to take a roll in any said back stories.
OOC and Roleplaying Preferences ––– –
I have no issues RPing in or out of game. Keep in mind I do play on a PS4, so I do have some restrictions.
I prefer RPing in discord. It has it’s own advantages that in game does not, like creating private servers. If there’s ever a chance of group RP, I do find it easier to RP in discord.
I do work in retail, so I am usually home and ready to relax around 7 or 8 PM EST. But I do have discord on my phone, so I can be on discord even while I am away.
M/ERP: Both and all RP are fine with me!
