Hello! Sorry to bother, I was wondering if you used to run a tumblr profile named ange1fire. I remember it had an archive FULL of y2k gifs, but it seems like it got hacked/deleted and all the content is gone...One of the few archival efforts said main blog: jxdxs, and that redirected me to this profile.

Yes I did, sadly it got deleted :( I contacted tumblr to try and get it back but they wouldn't :/ ive got a lot of stuff from that blog on here tagged as #gca and #ggda and I also have another blog called @ozzfest-1999 that has a lot of stuff like that on there! rip ange1fire

where do u look for gifs?

Hi!

I look anywhere and everywhere! I first started collecting them about five years ago and simply haven't stopped... My best advice to anyone beginning to look for GIFs:

Use GifCities.org to discover GIFs dating from & before 2009 and learn how to navigate the Internet Archive and archived websites through it... GifCities is by far my favorite project of the Internet Archive's and I 100% recommend everyone take a peek at it, graphics hoarder or not... :)

Google Images has a fantastic feature where you can search for images by file type, color and transparency which I utilized a lot when I first began collecting graphics, especially as just one website can lead you to another which can lead you down a rabbit hole of sites, keeping me occupied for hours when I have time to kill... x) I strongly recommend utilizing the Google Translate browser extension for this as well...!!!

Join communities for graphics, design & related archival! I really wanna become a weirdcore creator myself, but how do u edit. Where do u get that old wordart style from and those 3d smileys, and everything. It would really help

the 3D smileys are avatars from an old chatroom service called "the palace" I make most of the text captions by myself (but there have been a couple rare cases where I've used online text gif generators) I also get some assets from gifcities.org and @ange1fire

The vast majority of my edits are made in GIMP image editor (which is free)

idk exactly how to explain my process in depth in a post like this but I hope was little I said here helps
