i love angel lore

this actually lines up well with what cas's canonical interest in bees represents at that point. bees being another order of angel, cas admiring them for their structure, their hierarchies, their closeness to god, and everyone with a job to do, during a time where cas feels like his every choice and action has led to disaster. he's desperate to be back "in the fold," to have a job and do it well. and bedlund saying here that angels are also the "closest to his missing God" also supports the idea that bees = a longing for heaven and order. honey!cas is cas at his lowest and most "helpless." he feels defeated, he wants things to be simple and easy again. this cas is perhaps looking for the guidance of that "missing God." he's searched desperately for god before, when he believed god had all the answers and would help them. following the bees, admiring them, wishing to be like them, ties into those themes of feeling helpless and looking for structure and purpose again, the kind of structure and purpose he found in heaven for millions of years. but observing the bees also twines with cas's love and admiration of earth and god's creations. it's a very cas way of longing for the familiarity of heaven. instead of just being like, "ah yes i miss heaven and it's structures" he goes and admires bees for those same attributes. (also imagine cas, in this broken defeated state, telling the bees of all his faults and trauma and regrets. the bees as angels being tuned into angel radio, receiving and relaying cas's confessions) anyway, bedlund saying bees are possibly another order of angels just !!! slams home the idea that cas is looking toward heaven at this time. and again that his interest in bees, while seemingly cute and wholesome on the surface, runs much deeper in ways that are often glossed over or not represented in fandom

since I'm in my posting hcs on main era: listen

imagine angel blades burn people who touch them, both mentally and physically, and kinda have a mind of their own and a direct line with their angel host so they're always connected. each specific blade for each specific angel and humans can't use them because one it's not a weapon for them their skin just be peeled right off their hand and mind fried a bit and two the blades just don't wanna because they are prideful.

and then on early seasons dean grabs cas' blade in a fight without thinking because quick quick that feathered fucks are gonna kill innocent people and nothing works on them so fuck it - and stabs one of the angels with it. and cas is just looking at him wide eyed because oh it liked dean and let him do that uh oh does that mean I like dean enough to let him get access to this part of me. and dean is like holy shit my hand is still with me does the blade (and cas?) like me or what. and the angels are like what the fuck.

Angel & Demon Headcanons.

Lucifer was once the angel of Love, bc while all other angels have a lot of responsibilities, none of the angels have been given the title of "Angel of love" Instead there is God who delivers love and is love... which actually would make the theory that "Lucifer was once the angel of Love" make more sense because he was the closest one to perfection, that being God, and no other love can compare to that of God. So no other love could compare to the Love of God, not even the angel said to be so. Yes I know Hanael/Anael is considered as the star of love, but that's actually in the Longfellow's work The Golden Legend. And while there is Mihr considered as an angel of friendship and love, he will be placed in Persian Lore.

ADDING ON onto the theory that Lucifer was once the angel of Love, it could also be used to explain Raphael's association with love too. At the beginning Lucifer was one of the chief angels, or at least powerful since he managed to instigate a third of the angels to fall, and after his fall there probably needed to be another angel that substituted his title and rank, which is why despite Rephael being considered as mostly a healer, he is also sometimes associated with other things like love and science.

For Raphael, I can't help but consider him as this geeky kind of angel that loves invetning things and screwing with the creation of physics, he is the sole reason why you need letters in math, he was probably present during the double slit experiment and thought "You know what would be a fun way to make >:)))"

On the other hand I think Raphael also loves his title as an(other) angel of Love. Considering his enemy is also the demon of lust Asmodeus, they are likely in a constant battle between whenever or not having kinks is good or bad.

Lucifer(fallen Satan) has not only daddy issues but also mommy issues. Although it would be cool to see Mary trying to handle Lucifer on his own, seeing that she is the most purest being, just like Eve once was. Flashbacks to that tree in the garden?

The personality of Azrael is either this happy go lucky kind of guide trying to help people accept death as much as they can until they reach the gates, or this tired and cold like angel whom for some reason is like a calm wave that will not try to elevate nor demoralize your mood, only walk with you as you begin to accept death.

Either way one definite trait that Azrael will seem to have is this aura of calming down others, letting your soul get over all the fears of life and send you into a waking slumber, the one you needed ever since you where born into the world.

There is this double duality which I really like about demons and angels that doesn't get talked about a lot. That regarding the more ancient books or the Old Testament, Angels and Demons aren't always just always doing good or bad things. Angels, at least in the book of Tobias and wth Abraham's visit by the angels can be seen to lie or misguide the people to think they are humans. In the book of Job they can even go against God's choices saying that those humans[Job] aren't what god thinks. If we include the Apocrypha then Enoch is an easy reference that they can be tempted or that even the Lord does not trust them.

Another temptation that is also shown is with Harut and Marut, two angels that decided to reveal the name of God back at their wives and get punished because of that. Meanwhile there are demons like Asmodeus who recite verses from the book of Moses in the Testament of Solomon, and even follow it to an extent, they can pass through heaven and earth, they can even love and come to regret, as the nephilim and watchers[fallen angels] have come to ask Enoch to help them, as seen during the fight of the watchers when God tells his angels to supress the watchers and see just how their beloved children will get killed in front of their eyes. Freaking twisted i know.

There are also the Ginns, mostly seen and made like evil entities, though they can also be good. Anyways it shows that there is no single duality for them, in the end the angels, despite doing bad things for god, they do it for god who is good, meanwhile as much as demons try to do good things, they will always be making bad things, and it isnt because they reject god, thats partly the case, its that their intentions will always be bad no matter the actions they make.

I absolutely love the idea that the Divine Comedy did— no, not that— I mean the concept of God taking care of Eden waiting for humans to come back one day. I'm crying, and taking this as headcanon. Imma just...

Supernatural / Lucifer Headcanons

I don't know if this has been done before but I can't get this out of my head so I wrote it down... 😈

If during Chuck's destruction of universes the Winchesters and their beloved angel were to be thrown into Lucifer's universe.... I can see this happening

Dan would call Chloe over at a crime scene, telling her that the FBI are here to take over the case. Confused - because this is nothing more special than other strange devil related cases she's worked on - she meets up with the FBI agents present.

One has a strangely cheap suit on (which she only knows because Lucfier comments on it) and one has a trenchcoat on. They don't look like FBI...

But they have badges (although one of them did show his upside down - apparently he's new)

She gets their supervisor's number but - oops - it doesn't work.

So... eventually... they have to come clean - especially when Castiel reveals that this 'Lucifer Morningstar' character in fact is an angel...

How they all get along:

Lucifer and Dean would hit it off right away

I mean, there would be some strange “this dude is so pretentious and self centered” vibes at first from Dean, but Lucifer’s jokes will reel Dean in. The two would consistently make fun of cases and people

They might even bond a bit over music. Not that I think Lucifer is into Dean’s music, but I think Lucifer would give the space for Dean to listen to his music on full blast at Lux (when it’s not open)

And I even think Lucifer and Dean would have a moment of singing together whilst Lucifer plays the piano 🤭😂 much to Sam’s embarrassment

Speaking of Sam…

Lucifer and Sam do not hit it off

I don’t know about you, but having been Lucifer’s vessel for the apocalypse and having spent who knows how long down in Hell being tortured in the cage, I wouldn't be super comfy around Lucifer either. Sam isn't keen on befriending the Devil.

Lucifer, however, takes this personally – of course – because yay, yet another human who believes him to be nothing but evil

So after a few cases and a lot of Sam brooding and being a little mean, Lucifer confronts the guy to defend his own image

And Sam yells tells him about it all; About the pain he suffered in the cage, about Lucifer using his body, about the consistent damage that has been done to Sam’s mind and soul since then – I mean, he lost his soul even.

And Lucifer, very sincerely because this guy is capable of the most genuine affection I’ve ever seen, apologises.

And Sam finally accepts the guy. Key word: Accept. He still doesn’t really like him. A bit like how Dan doesn’t, but also does – you know?

Sam and Dan become best buddies. They share their woes about having betrayed family and done bad things in their past whilst still being insanely devoted to doing the best they can for their family.

“I once slept with a demon and started the apocalypse” “lol, I once slept with all the angels’ mother” “that's rough, buddy” That sorta vibe.

Not to mention that I can truly see Dan and Sam pouring their hearts out over research. Chloe will help too, but she’ll be too distracted trying to keep Lucifer safe to stay too long in one spot XD

Dan would make an amazing Men of Letters initiate

Dean would consistently flirt with Chloe, earning Lucifer’s annoyance but considering the woman only reacts positively when it comes from Lucifer, he doesn’t mind – though there is definitely a therapy session with Linda at one point where he has to deal with his jealousy 😂

Chloe adopts Castiel into the family.

Trixie loves talking to Castiel who is a sweetheart to the little girl, and considering Castiel’s innocence, Chloe is quick to take him in too. She finds herself making snacks for both when Castiel is having a tea party with Trixie (Lucifer secretly adores this - mainly because he can make fun of his new sibling)

Castiel does not understand tea parties and wonders why he can’t taste the tea Trixie can taste – “there’s nothing in the cups” “you’re meant to imagine it” “oh… but why?”

Castiel and Lucifer become the cutest pair of siblings in the world – Lucifer makes fun of Castiel’s lack of human awareness (“Even Amenadiel knows not to mention angel blades around humans... mainly because it's an awful innuendo although I will, in fact, steal that for my next 'meeting' with the Britneys”).

In contrast, if someone dares to make fun of his baby sibling Castiel, Lucifer will freak out. He's a protective older brother. No touchie

(Dean and Lucifer bond over their overprotective nature... Oh, and Lucifer ships Destiel)

Amenadiel adores Castiel too. Obviously mainly because he finally isn’t the only angel (aside from Luci) to be down on Earth struggling to keep up with all their technology and new ways. But also because Amenadiel and Castiel bond over heavenly stuff :3

Sam starts therapy with Linda, who has to untangle the insane lore of the Winchesters’ universe. She’s the one that advices Sam to try and speak to Lucifer to get over his past trauma – because “Lucifer really isn’t so bad here… maybe it will help you” “I doubt it, doctor but… thanks.”

Dean point blank refuses therapy from Linda, though whenever she’s over for a drink or to help on a case, she’s always picking at his brain – “I’ve never met someone, aside from Lucifer, who needs therapy more than you” “Yeah, I’m special that way”

Lucifer and Amenadiel are both highly disturbed by the idea of possessing a body in order to walk the Earth. Of course, their mum did it, but they themselves would never want to. Maze is equally as disgusted and keeps prodding Castiel with questions about it – which at first are highly sexual

Oh, and btw, Maze and Castiel totally have a fling

Why? Idk. Same reason Meg and Cass did?

I probably have more thoughts but these were the first that came to mind – I would love nothing more but to write little snippets here and there… We’ll see if I ever do 👀 if you have any thoughts on these, or any more to add, my ask box is open!

What's my motivation here, boss?

Can you imagine Michael’s second set of instructions for Castiel’s Garrison?

Was it like:

- It’s been 30 years and who knows how many fallen brothers-in-arms, and the First Seal has been broken, but you need to keep besieging Hell to retrieve that specific soul. And, once you do, patch up its rotting carcass, stuff the soul back in and leave the whole thing inside a grave, from where it can maybe crawl back into the world that would kill it back repeatedly.

I mean, “we don’t question our orders” goes a long way, but angels are supposed to be obedient, not brain-dead, right?

No, seriously, I’ve written the rescue scene up to Castiel standing in Alastair’s torture chamber with Dean’s soul in hand, and no POV change is helping me to avoid the question of what possessed him to do all the above, instead of just taking it directly to Heaven *insert a facepalm pic I’m too lazy to find*

once again, spn is an incredibly jewish show. the portrayal of archangels as the top of the hierarchy is not based in christianity. archangels are practically nobodies in the christian hierarchy.
