TOG BIG BANG 2022

I am so honored to have been able to make art for @pinkninjapj for this year’s @oldguardbigbang!

She is the author of one of my absolute favorite fics and I couldn’t believe it when we were paired together. The cherry on top is that this mandalorian fusion is the perfect combo of two of my favorite things! I only hoped that I would be able to do her writing even just a shred of justice.

Summary: Joe and Nicky never got together back on Earth, and instead had a terse and somewhat playfully antagonistic relationship. Now they're in an entirely different galaxy, and Joe has sworn the Mandalorian Creed and kept his face covered for lifetimes. But when he picks up a strange green Child and swears to return him to his kind, who does he find but Nicky of kriffing Genova, training Jedi children in the Force. Meanwhile, Nicky is falling hard for the mysterious stoic warrior with a kid in tow. Who wouldn't? Does it count as a slow burn if you come in at the end of four thousands of years of enemies to frenemies?

I had the great pleasure of making art for the wonderful fic that @isabellehemlock wrote for the @oldguardbigbang!! I’m so happy you all can finally read it!

Summary: For his ten year reunion, Joe has returned to Newton in a bid to prove to his ex, Nicky, and to himself, that he's doing just fine with his life thank you very much. Nicky was the guy who had ended up being both his first love, and his first heartbreak, and as soon as he catches sight of him, Joe is flooded by memories and hurtful feelings - both from a haunted past, and of what could have been. Having booked himself into the only bed & breakfast available in the area for a week, Joe plans to grin and bear the nostalgia of a bittersweet filled past, in order to finally get the answers he deserved years earlier. • Due to a family emergency that changed his life forever, Nicky never left. He never meant to ghost Joe, but he also knew his dreams didn’t include the things Nicky was now responsible for, and the more time that had passed the harder it became to say anything - so he simply stopped all together. • It was the biggest regret of his life, but now he wonders if he can finally say all the things he should have said a decade ago ... which could bring them out of the regretted past, and into a bright future together. But will Joe stay beside him once he learns the truth?
