Imagine an angst fanfiction where the Justice League is put into an impossible situation where Superboy has to die in order to save the whole universe. Everyone is arguing about the ethics and what they should do. Dad Captain Marvel™ is absolutely against sacrificing Superboy or anyone but Superman thinks it's a necessary evil to save everything in the universe!

Okay I haven't watched the MCU in a while and honestly at this point all I care about is Bucky, Wanda, Loki and maybe Shangchi but I watched a summary of the baby Starlord episode and the Captain Carter episode of the new What-if (not really interested in watching the whole thing but Bucky's in it so yeah) and as a Cap girl who loves CATWS so much that it's one of my all-time favourite movie, what Marvel's doing to the whole Steve-Bucky-Peggy (that I've been having issues with since Endgame) is driving me insanely frustrated.

I fucking HATE it when people more or less lessen or ruin what was originally so well-written and performed in the original that serves to drive the character that led to them being so well loved

Like, stucky doesn't need to be queer romantic to be significant. (And I'm saying this as a Stucky shipper whose whole exposure to AO3 and Tumblr started with Stucky) It is a significant, important and heavy relationship REGARDLESS if it's platonic or romantic. Erasing that and forcefully making it Steggy doesn't work, drives the og audience away from Steggy and frankly, it's kind of homophobic

Also it's incredibly unfair that Steve's significance to Bucky remains while vice versa isn't, even though THAT'S ONE OF THE TWO DRIVING MOTIVATIONS OF ALL OF STEVE'S ACTIONS IN CACW. Are you really trying to convince me that a bond so deep that they've been inseparable all their lives since they were kids and well into their adulthood, is less significant, or is effective as a memory trigger (and I fucking studied the basic of memory recall) than the significant shorter Steggy romance? What the fuck????

I almost want to write a whole essay on the Steve-Bucky-Peggy relationship, but I currently have enough writing tasks (fics, emails, letters, essays) on my plate. I'll see if I wanna come back to it later.

You guys know about "The Boys" comics and how they did a side story of a fake Billy Batson where they made him a r*pist. WHAT THE FUCK!!!! You're telling me they made a kid into one of the most disgusting kinds of people in the world when he could have an incredibly unique perspective of the universe in "The Boys"!

I know the comics are meant to show the evil side of superheroes but that can be done in infinitely better ways! Like showing how Vought would react to a potentially powerful child supe, showing how the people closest to supes change in response to the powers, showing how complex figuring out new powers are (especially as a child), showing how power can turn the most innocent people in society evil, showing how others might seek to control or manipulate the child, showing how the child may unintentionally cause harm to themselves or others due to a lack of understanding of the consequences, showing him idealizing superheroes and finding out the truth in his adult form, showing ect…

Literally anything else would have been better but the writers decided they wanted a cheap shocking side story! If they do add Billy into the tv show then they better change the story or not add him at all because I will not stand for this bullshit!

Well, having recently seen Black Adam, I'm imagining that the only reason Teth would fight Marvel is ground him bc Teth hates the Wizards and Gods so much for choosing his son as their Champion and making him experience so much grief, and then they go and choose another child.

Meanwhile Billy is a feral gremlin child that refuses to go to bed or be grounded by anyone, and will fight tooth and nail. Teths greatest challenge isn't another Champion, it's Billy Batson's belligerent stubbornness.

Marc struggled, pushing his body off the floor, but Amber's foot hit his neck, forcing him down. He grit his teeth, trying to force either Steven or Jake to the front, but as hard as they all tried, they couldn't fight against her strength.

"Yknow... Maybe Harrow was right."

Amber's voice wasn't raised above a whisper as she said that. Marc turned his head, trying to rotate as his neck was pushed onto the ground. He saw the woman he once called his friend, his sidekick, now completely changed by grief. Her costume was all black now, lacking any of the bright yellows and oranges that her costume once had. The gold boots and gold 8-pointed star emblem was all that remained.

Her hair was loose and fluttered in the wind, alongside the long, black cape that she was wearing. Her arms were bare, glowing a bright gold with electricity. Her eyes were glowing gold, with permanent gold tearstains marking her cheeks.

"Maybe if he unleashed Ammit's justice on the world, none of this wouldn't have happened," She continued, her voice taunting now. "Because you would be dead. My father would still be alive. Billy would still be alive."

She leant down, her eyes still glowing, as Marc tried to bite back tears. He recognised what she was saying, and Steven was trying to push himself to the front to protect Marc from Amber's repetition of his mother's abuse. But Marc didn't let him.

He deserved this, he thought.

"I can't believe it, she was right." Amber continued, raising her hand as a blast of ionic energy began to form, aiming it directly at the back of Marc's head. The heat was almost comforting, in a way.

"It was all your fault."

trying to figure out character voices for my ocs and I think the one I have the clearest picture of rn is taituk. they speak…not quite stiffly maybe but definitely a tad formal. more connective words & full sentences than most people use when speaking. they’ve got the admirable habit of just letting silence fall until they’ve thought of the right thing to say, very little uhming or use of other filler words. they tend to be overly specific rather than vague—e.g., instead of saying something is rare or common, they might try to give a numeric indication of how rare or common it is. they talk quite slowly and quietly, but can make themself heard if so desired. absolutely hate shouting. they prefer to speak calmly, and if they’re in an emotional situation they will wait to compose themself until they know their voice will be level. because of this they can seem emotionless to the untrained eye, but they’re just good at hiding/repressing them lol
