VEGOILS-Palm oil eases on subdued demand, lower inventories cap decline KUALA LUMPUR, April 15 (Reuters) - Malaysian palm oil futures slipped on Monday, weighed down by lacklustre global demand although shrinking inventories in the world's second largest producer capped the fall in prices. The benchmark palm oil contract FCPOc3 for June delivery on the Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Exchange slid 5 ringgit, or 0.12%, to 4,277 ringgit ($895.71) a metric ton by the midday break. "Market got some support from resumption of Chinese palm oil buying on Friday but other destinations were lacking charm," said Anilkumar Bagani, research head of Mumbai-based vegetable oils broker Sunvin Group. Malaysia's palm oil stocks at theend of March fell 10.68% from the previous month to 1.71 million metric tons, the lowest in ten months, as a surge in exports overshadowed output, according to Malaysian Palm Oil Board data released on Monday. Crude palm oil production gained 10.57% to 1.39 million tons for the period, while palm oil exports ticked up 28.61% to 1.32 million tons, according to the data. Production in April will likely be smaller than March due to slower harvesting during the Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr holidays during the first half of the month, which would further deplete inventories, Bagani said. Cargo surveyors are also expected to release export estimates for April 1-15. Oil prices fell on Monday as market participants dialled back risk premiums following Iran's attack on Israel late on Saturday, which the Israeli government said caused limited damage. Weaker crude oil futures make palm a less attractive option for biodiesel feedstock. Dalian's most-active soyoil contract DBYcv1 rose 0.66% while its palm oil contract DCPcv1 lost 0.64%. Soyoil prices on the Chicago Board of Trade BOcv1 were up 0.59%. Palm oil is affected by price movements in related oils as they compete for a share in the global vegetable oils market. Palm oil may bounce to 4,326 ringgit per metric ton, as it stabilised around support of 4,242 ringgit, Reuters technical analyst Wang Tao said. ($1 = 4.7750 ringgit)

I have always been a good student – be it at school or college or work or life in general. There have been so many learnings at each of these stages by various people – my parents, my siblings, my teachers, my friends, my co-workers, my acquaintances, my family…everyone, each one of them have had a role to play in my learnings…each one of them has been my teacher, in one way or the other. While at school or college, it is about the academic learnings, the actual, the real learnings are from your own experiences – I have learnt compassion, problem solving, planning, communicating, proactiveness, staying grounded, humility, patience, gratitude, and above all, empathy towards people – all of these, while we have it in us, but they are enhanced or developed from the experiences and interactions you have had with so many people across different walks of life. What life teaches you through these exposures and ups and downs, no one else can! VEGOILS-Palm falls on soyoil weakness, focus on Malaysian stocks data MUMBAI/NEW DELHI, April 8 (Reuters) - Malaysian palm oil futures fell for the third straight day on Monday after hitting a year high last week, as losses in rival soybean oil prompted profit booking. The benchmark palm oil contract FCPOc3 for June delivery on the Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Exchange fell 33 ringgit, or 0.76%, to 4,310 ringgit ($906.60) a metric ton by the midday break. The contract hit a high of 4,443 ringgit last week. Falling stocks have lifted palm oil prices in recent weeks, but the rally has caused its premium over soybean and sunflower oil to rise, said a Mumbai-based dealer with a global trade house. "As a result, palm oil buyers are shifting to other oils. Prices need to come down to avoid a slowdown in demand and exports in the coming months," he said. India's palm oil imports fell to their lowest level in 10 months in March as buyers substituted it with cheaper sunflower oil. The market is now eagerly awaiting data on Malaysia's March exports, production and stock levels, said Anilkumar Bagani, head of Research from India-based Sunvin Group said. Malaysia's palm oil inventories are expected to have declined 6.65% from the prior month to an eight-month low of 1.79 million tons at the end of March, a Reuters survey showed on Thursday. The Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) is scheduled to release the data on April 15. Soyoil prices on the Chicago Board of Trade BOc2 fell 0.57%. Palm oil is affected by price movements in related oils as they compete for a share in the global vegetable oils market. Palm oil may slide further into a range of 4,274 ringgit to 4,294 ringgit per metric ton, due to the completion of a five-wave cycle from 3,745 ringgit. Oil prices fell more than $1 a barrel on Monday, with Brent sliding under $90, as Middle East tensions eased after Israel withdrew more soldiers from southern Gaza. ($1 = 4.7540 ringgit)
