The Illustrated Atlas Of Wonder-Evoking Animals

My graduation project is almost finished. Now I have to make the book irl instead of just a 3D mockup. (Which is gonna be the better part!)

I try not to worry about the fact, that we'll have to present it in front of all the teachers and the students that happen to pass by. At least I get to nerd out about animals and I can also talk about how the project went. :D We'll see how that goes.

The Avocado Drive Zoo by Earl Hamner

This is one of any number of books my parents got for me under the assumption that they feature animals heavily and so therefore I would like them; unfortunately this one only sort of transiently featured animals and I came away hating the author.

Philosophically fascinated by the kind of person who hates zoos but takes a dozen turtles from Virginia and decides to keep them in NYC. Which is just sort of the surface level of "guy who says he loves animals but only as a way to buffer his own ego" that we've got going on here.

Endless Forms: The Secret World of Wasps by Seirian Sumner

95% perfect! I love unloved animals, I love scientists whose passion overflows, I love the massive unknowns in the world where we just haven't bothered to find out. I now also love wasps, so success there.

I am less clear on why one chapter is written entirely as a dialogue between the author and Aristotle but okay. Everyone has their quirks.

Yesterday internet and phone services in Gaza went down, due to the heavy bombardments.

The voice of the people in palestine is being silenced in every way you can imagine.
