Despite literally not being able to do a cartwheel, I am a lover of gymnastics and acrobatic stunts… Freaking lost it every time this kid did an unnecessary flip (and felt bad for the animators lolllll). I wonder what the process of creating the character was, by the way, since he’s a recurring character that isn’t based on a pre-existing Tezuka star (unless he is?? Y’all can let me know). Seeing as I lack any real experience in the field, I used Tokyo Olympics footage as refs for all of these. Balance beam routines! It’s funny, I liked these drawings as sketches, then disliked them when inking, then went back to liking them at the end 😂 trust the process I guess

Recently saw an analysis thread regarding Yuji and Megumi's role in the narrative and I must confess, if Megumi's role is only to be saved then I'm going to have my villain origin story.

I personally think that the story is pushing for the opposite, but if Gege does pull this shit I will hate jjk so much. I just really do not like this route cause it objectifies Megumi in a way that he loses all sorts of agency as a character. I would expect a deuteragonist of a manga, no matter the need to subvert common tropes, to be treated with more care than this sad possibility.

Listen. It's a fair take. For all you know Gege does execute like that... he's unpredictable, right? And Maybe the way he executes makes it feel like "oh ok, this makes perfect sense 👌" but I agree with you... this will be our villain origin story. Happy to start coming up with villain team names if you're up for it.

There's a lot of people who agree with us that the story is pushing for the opposite, somehow we just don't garner 23k fucking likes 🥲. I guess too many people think Megumi is done for and Gege has not given us many reasons to think otherwise.

But I feel like there's a subset of hardcore Megumi fans that have been predicting his arc (including his corruption which manifested in the shape of getting possessed by Sukuna) for some time now... and we're all in agreement that his role is not to be saved like a damsel in distress.
