i love how fraught and complicated discourse around various utena characters ‘dying’ is when anthy is literally stabbed to death eternally by a million swords imbued with human hatred. and then utena gets stabbed to death by them also. like. ‘death’ is incredibly interesting in rgu because most of the time it’s this ambiguous figurative thing that has interesting implications re: ohtori as a closed-off world one can escape. we are all trapped in our coffins. mamiya is the only named character with a grave. nemuro memorial hall functions as one all the same. ruka is implied to have died in the hospital— was he dead all along? who was the boy we saw for these two episodes? is this dead boy the same boy, or is this just another coincidence from the shadow girls, cutting like a knife? it’s heavily implied that akio and anthy murder kanae by poisoning her, adding to the previous implication that they were poisoning mr ohtori too, but there are no perceptible consequences of this. kanae’s absence is not felt. she’s fed an apple slice. what happens to the bodies? we know what happened to the 100 boys, but what about everyone else? and so on and so forth. ‘death’ is a tricky thing in utena, i think it’s constantly functioning on figurative and literal levels in very different ways for very different purposes. dios died. dios was dying. dios didn’t die. he grew up. etc etc

REIKOOO MY BELOVEDDD
sorry I just really adore reiko so I drew this like two weeks ago on the Monday I got off from work right before doing taxes 🤧 so her eyes were rushed and I struggled lots with her feet and getas and skirt bcuz I couldn't find the right positioning and fabric texture and angles and I refused to look for references cuz I'm lazy but I think it ended up turning out really good she's so like rounded and tiny and squishy I love her so much she's like my favorite Tori drawing I've drawn so far ahhh also I did something new with her hair (and eyes but that's cuz I was rushing) like I made the hair more detailed and stuff and I like how it ended up looking Idk if I'll use it more often tho. ANYWAYSSS FEAST UR EYES ON THE GIRL FAILURE EVERRR

Why did they create such a useless character to show Cinder's backstory when Salem is literally right there AND the real question the audience wants answered???
Imagine if it had been Salem who stayed at the hotel and saw something of herself in the scrappy servant girl. She saw how the Madame treated little Cinder and offered a way out only if Cinder has the power to be useful to her. Maybe she put Cinder to a test of how far she was willing to go for freedom, or maybe Salem wanted something from the Madame that she wouldn't give so it was up to Cinder to provide
Either way, Salem gets a young disciple that's ruthlessly ambitious and easy to manipulate and Cinder gains the illusion of freedom under a new master

I'm also a fan of Eclipse as well, but my god lunar isn't being a manipulator with how he acts. sure he's a ass at times and a Mary Sue with the star powers being given to him but he isn't a villain.
also this other person saying Sun hurt Moon and switching things around about everything being sun's fault and that he was moon's abuser. which both are completely wrong
