The bee episode is so interesting to me, because it shows Akko responding in the same way to both Andrew and Diana's declarations of love

The episode for sure ends on a very strange vibe with their friends insisting on a possible romance between the two, and it does feel up to interpretation whether their responses are like, denial or genuine lack of interest but. It's a very clear lean in the Ankko direction rather than the Diakko one, which is strange because Andrew doesn't show up too much after this while Diana and Akko do grow undeniably closer

I've read somewhere that initally they were going to do an Ankko romance subplot but cut it for time, which does seem to align with the vibes here. At the same time I've also seen people say that there were people on staff that like Diakko and while I've never seen evidence, the way this episode treats the vaguest idea of it before they even become friends does make me feel like it could be true as well!

Anyway personally I don't know that I even have a preference? I feel like either one would be really fun and cute to see, but I'm also super chill with the show ending on an open ended note in terms of Akko's dating life- it wasn't like, never talked about, she has an interest in dating, and two possible LIs that would be a good match for her... And I'm perfectly fine with if that's all we ever get, even as fun as it would have been to see a romance subplot

It starts off as a one-sided crush on Flynn’s side, and later becomes mutual when Cali develops feelings for him in the Skylanders IDW spin-off comics, their romantic tension lasts for most of the franchise (five games, a chapter of a spin-off comic, and a few bits and pieces in the spin-off books and mobile games), so far they’ve never gotten together as the franchise is currently still in hiatus mode (says this while on extreme copium) I think we need to appreciate the tropes in Calynn: Opposites Attract, Tough Girl x Himbo, Smart x Dumb, “You’re stupid, I like that in a man” vibes all over this ship! Seven year old me didn’t see Cali calling Flynn her guy in the sky whilst Flynn looked at her with heart eyes to lose to some other pairing!

Very typical hetero-love-interest introduction, rival vibes, aloof rich boy & headstrong "commoner" girl, learning to see each other's point of view, she dresses up for the first time in the series to sneak into his party to try to talk to him. Just classic 'ugh they're clearly gonna get together' but... they don't. Nothing romantic is ever explicit, and by s2 they're friends and that's it. there's no discussion or drama. they're good friends. literally shocked me. apparently a guy and girl who fit a bunch of romantic tropes... can just be friends

(here's a draft I've had in my docs for a while, happy holidays to my fellow ankkos!)

Andrew walked into the room immediately seeing the woman struggling to do her hair and chuckled, pulling her in for a kiss on the nap of her neck, “Good morning” he whispered, voice colored in a fond tone. She yawned, before slowly tilting her head up to kiss him on the cheek, the both of them saying nothing as she pouted at her tangled hair and gave up on fixing herself up at the moment.

“Want me to do it?” His fingers lingered at her sides and a light red dusted over her face until she realized he was already taking up her hair tie.

Andrew was by far, better at doing her hair than she was. She smiled, conceding as he began to thread through her locks. His fingers gently brushed against her skin as she felt him gently pull her locks into a loose braid. It was her favorite hairstyle and she was glad he knew how to do it just right.

It must have been Diana that told him, she figured. They were neighbors anyways. The blonde was a bit frigid but she was bearable to say the least.

Andrew chuckled, nuzzling the back of her head after he finished the braid– making sure to not ruin her new braid. Once they finished getting dressed for their usual jobs, they sat down at their quaint wooden table for breakfast.

Her pomegranate colored eyes penetrated his figure, closely observing the love of her life.

After what seemed like a minute, Andrew looked back at her with a slight smile. To think the two of them came from completely different parts of the world.

If he could come back to the past and tell his past self about settling down with a very charming and goofy witch, Andrew knows he’d dubiously raise an eyebrow and deny that conversation. There were many times where he doubted the likelihood of their friendship but the businessman found it harder and harder to resist her offers, even if it was merely for an errand. And although he was still doubtful he deserved her after the way he treated her in the first place – he wasn’t a fool.

The adorable burst of red on her face whenever she talked to him, and the perk in her steps made him hope for something, making note of all the things she was fond of. It was all worth it as they continued to stay in limbo – until his hands shook with sweat as he took out a well crafted wand for Akko, asking her to be his girlfriend.

He could never forget the reaction he had received, chest lighter from the release of emotions as she hopped into his arms–new wand in her hand. That winter day had felt crisp, the wind turning their flushed faces even redder whilst the two held hands for company’s sake.

There was just something magical to her, even if she never had any magic in the first place.

Even now, he just simply couldn’t resist the charm of his beloved witch.

His face softened as she kissed his cheek one more time, before hurriedly running out the door to her place. Hopefully she didn’t forget anything– his eyes immediately picked up on the umbrella she had forgotten, laughing as he watched her disappear on her broom to work. Looks like he had to visit her for today.

Opinions about more lwa if another season spinoff etc etc

Imagian a chariot or charoix spinoff!!

Okay as much as I personally think that LWA did have a satisfying ending (saving the world, restoring magic, akko floating), I won't mind a season 2.

Maybe in S2 there will be more shenanigans with the gang being older. Or maybe an old and actually evil witch is gonna do something. Or, like in one of the lwa manga, there is another school (but not woodward fake). Whether it's evil or not, I don't mind either.

And I know that LWA is not romance focused but if they make Andrew and Akko together in S2 then I'd rather not have the season LOL. Maybe it sounds bitter from a Diakko shipper but I'd rather have besties4life than seeing Ankko canon.

About the charoix spinoff: I WANT THAT TOO. i want to see how Croix would research about Wagandea to help Chariot. And them just bonding in general. And maybe Croix genuinely warming up to the kids. It'll be cute methinks.
