Laura and Millie's friendship on The Dick Van Dyke Show was so incredible.

I always compare The Dick Van Dyke Show and I Love Lucy because I feel like TDVDS was the antithesis of I Love Lucy in some major ways. Something that was so iconic about I Love Lucy was that the friendship between Lucy and Ethel is considered the first really supportive friendship between two women on television. Typically plotlines pitted women against each other more. I Love Lucy tended to pit husband and wife against each other and it was the women against the men.

What TDVDS did though was truly incredible. They gave Laura and Millie and genuine, real, and supportive friendship while also not pitting Laura and Rob against each other. TDVDS rarely leaned into the women vs women or women vs men plotlines and I feel that gave TDVDS a timeless and real feel that holds up to this day.

That's not to say that Laura and Millie never have conflicts but I feel like the conflicts are rare and handled in a really good and respectful way.

Who is your favourite character in 2?

It used to be the Captain, but due to lot of factors, I now consider everyone to be my favourite character, especially as it is an ensemble show and each character bring something unique.

Who is your least favourite character in 1?

Huh. Is it wrong of me to say Kochanski? She worked as Lister's unattainable crush, but second half of season 7 and season 8 are not my favourites.

What's your favourite episode of 4?

It May Look Like a Walnut, hands down. That episode is a classic! I also love The Ghost of A. Chantz, because it really was spooky, especially for a show like that!

What is your favourite season of 5?

Considering that there is only one season (not for much longer, hehe), I'm gonna go with Season 1.

What's your favourite relationship in 3?

Charles and Jake are friendship goals but Gina and Holt are something else!

Who is your anti relationship in 2?

I am not a fan of Patcap and Kitmas.

How long have you watched 1?

I was introduced to Red Dwarf several years ago and while it took me a while to get used to it, it is now one of comfort shows and I watch it when I need something familiar and safe.

How did you become interested in 3?

After watching Parks and Rec, I was intrigued by another show by Mike Schur, watched the pilot, and couldn't stop watching!

Who is your favourite actor in 4?

Bar the main main characters, I love Jerry Paris and Ann Morgan Guilbert as Jerry and Millie. I really missed Jerry as a character when he stepped into the director's chair.

Which show do you prefer 1, 2 or 5?

As if I'm gonna choose! Especially as both 1 and 2 are my comfort TV shows!

Which show have you seen more episodes of 1 or 3?

I've seen ALL the episodes!!

If you could be anyone from 4, who would you be?

I've always loved Sally so much! Yes, she was always on husband hunt, but she was also independent, successful, funny, knowledgeable, and an amazing friend.

How would you kill off your favourite character in 5?

I couldn't kill off any of my favourite characters! And to be fair, most of them are Angels and Demons and therefore immortal!

Would a 3/4 crossover work?

They're in different decades, and I can't really see it, but Boyle would probably be a fan of Dick van Dyke Show.

Pair two characters in 1 that would make an unlikely, but strangely okay couple.

Lister and Rimmer are perhaps the most obvious ones, aren't they? You're the moonlight to my sun.

Overall, which show has the better cast, 3 or 5?

I may go for 5, because David Tennant and Michael Sheen came together for the first time in GO and created pure magic! Plus, Frances McDormand, Miranda Richardson, Michael McKean, Nick Offermam, John Hamm! The talent is endless!
