Annette going prematurely gray, 2020
For a number of years, this one-panel comic was my most popular tweet.
Please keep the jokes about hurting or hating Gilbert to a minimum. Even joking character hate makes me uncomfortable, and I do not believe there is a way for me to selectively mute the notes for a tumblr post.
Most other comments were commiserating about white hair so I would like to formally make known my stance: getting free silver highlights in your mid-20s makes you cool as hell.
Thanks again for reading my work!

My dad has REFUSES to call Olrox anything but Ollie since he saw the first episode
For example when little boy Belmont when running after Olrox appeared behind him my dad just yelled
“HERE COMES OLLIE!!!!”
“HES GONNA GETCHA”
With so much excitement
So when the ahem smexy after shot scene he just when “damn Ollie got some”

okay i wasn't completely sold on richter in the first few episodes, there just wasn't enough of him i don't think, but that moment in ep 4 of him saying "i'm a belmont, who's fucking next" immediately followed by olrox showing up and sending him into a full-fledged panic attack?? absolutely impeccable, i'm on board now. i love him. also the animation and depiction of said panic attack were very good

There’s something poetic about how so many ancient empires and kingdoms that thrived on the ‘natural order’ the vampires speak of, ultimately crumbled to dust. There’s something poetic about how shackles are often metal. And meanwhile we have Annette, who takes the dehumanizing, machine nature of metal (taken to a literal extent with the forgemaster machine), and reclaims it as something to turn against her oppressors, reforge it into something more meaningful, and ultimately reduce chains to just dust in the wind.

The way that Olrox’s heritage and romance completely recontextualized his character. We first meet him when he kills Julia, and that’s bad no matter how you look at it, right? Wrong. Julia is a white European who came to the Americas and killed Olrox’s Mohican lover. Olrox retaliated, which is bad, yes, but how else was he going to get justice? No government would ever try a vampire hunter for the murder of a vampire, and no government would prosecute a white woman for harming a Native American. People like her were committing a state-sanctioned genocide. Even the suggestion of legal justice is ridiculous on its face. Julia’s death was wrong in the sense that violence doesn’t solve violence, in the sense that revenge begets revenge, but that’s it IMO. Olrox didn’t go any further—he didn’t torture her, he didn’t kill her son, AFAIK he didn’t kill anyone else that day. The only time we see him kill another human is in France when he kills a European noblewoman, the exact kind of person who profited most from the violence inflicted on him and his people. What I’m saying is that I’m dead serious when I say Olrox did nothing wrong
