“Uno dei momenti più tristi della nostra vita é quando la porta della casa dei nonni si chiude per sempre. Una volta chiusa quella porta non ci saranno più i pomeriggi felici con zii, cugini, nipoti, genitori fratelli e sorelle. Ve lo ricordate?

Non era necessario andare al ristorante la domenica. Si andava a casa dei nonni. A Natale la nonna bucava l’ozono con le sue fritture mentre il nonno si dedicava all’arrosto facendo puntualmente bruciare la canna fumaria. La tavola era lunghissima e veniva apparecchiata nella stanza più grande. Adesso la casa è chiusa ed è rimasta soltanto la polvere. Un cartello vendesi. Nessuno la vuole quella casa.

È vecchia. Va ristrutturata. Costa troppo. Cazzo ne sapete di quanto vale la casa dei nonni. La casa dei nonni non ha un valore. E così passano gli anni. Non ci sono più regali da scartare. Frittate da mangiare. Verdure da pulire. Quando la casa dei nonni si chiude ci ritroviamo adulti senza capire quando abbiamo smesso di essere bambini. Certo per i nonni saremo sempre piccoli e indifesi. Sempre. I nonni avevano sempre il caffè pronto. La pasta. Il vino. Le caramelle..

Poi finisce tutto. Non ci sono più le canzoni. Non si fa più la pasta fatta in casa..... Siete andati via troppo presto porca miseria. Io volevo fare la salsa ancora una volta. Il mirto. Le chiacchiere. E il liquore all’alloro. Io volevo ancora accatastare la legna con te nonno, anzi grazie per avermelo insegnato. E grazie per gli insegnamenti sulla vita. E sulla campagna. E sul giardinaggio. Ora quando passo guardo quella casa e mi viene sempre l’abitudine di parcheggiare. E di buttare giù il campanello. E di sentire la nonna gridare che porco giuda non sono modi quelli.

Scusa nonna. Non suonerò più il campanello. Al massimo quando mi capiterà di pensarvi di nuovo, come ora, canterò una canzone. Quella preferita dal nonno. Un amore così grande.

When the grandparents 'house closes💔

“One of the saddest moments in our lives is when the door to our grandparents' house closes forever. Once that door closes there will be no more happy afternoons with uncles, cousins, nephews, parents, brothers and sisters. Do you remember it? There was no need to go to a restaurant on Sunday. We went to the grandparents' house. At Christmas, the grandmother pierced the ozone layer with her fried food while the grandfather dedicated himself to the roast by punctually burning the flue. The table was very long and was set in the largest room. Now the house is closed and only the dust is left. A for sale sign. Nobody wants that house. Is old. It needs to be refurbished. Costs too much. Fuck do you know what the grandparents' house is worth. Grandparents' house has no value. And so the years go by. There are no more presents to unwrap.

Omelettes to eat. Vegetables to clean. When the grandparents' house closes, we find ourselves adults without understanding when we stopped being children. Of course, for our grandparents we will always be small and helpless. Always. Grandparents always had coffee ready. The pasta. The wine. The candies.. Then it's all over. There are no more songs. Homemade pasta is no longer made..... You left too soon damn it. I wanted to make the sauce one more time. The myrtle. The chatter. And the laurel liqueur. I still wanted to stack wood with you grandpa, actually thanks for teaching me. And thanks for the teachings about life. And about the countryside. And about gardening. Now when I pass I look at that house and I always get used to parking. And to knock down the bell. And to hear the grandmother shouting that pig Judas are not those ways. Sorry grandma. I won't ring the bell again. At the latest when I think of you again, like now, I'll sing a song. Grandpa's favorite. Such a big love.

Favorite Thing About Them: She is a genuinelly sensitive, sweet, kind and empathetic person who has the ability to easily make friends and a competent performer in the fields of music and acting who greatly values team work rather than competing for attention with her colleagues.

Least Favorite Thing About Them: How the writers of the 2015 ABC sitcom the muppets. portrayed Janice as so over the top ditzy that she acted passive and with no opinions or desires of her own while the male characters Sam the Eagle, Floyd Pepper and Dr Teeth treated her as an object of dispute wich they were entitled to have as a romantic partner.

Unpopular Opinion: Her toddler design with open eyes and already big lips in 1984's Muppet Babies looks pretty unsetling. The illustrations for the Muppet Kids books reached a better natural look for a young Janice, with more subtle lipstick around her lips and her characteristic closed eyes.

Okay, Disney. Here’s my pitch: The Muppet Star Wars Trilogy. Remake the original three movies — Episodes IV - VI — and only those three, replacing all actors with Muppets except for the following.

Darth Vader: The main bad guy of any Muppet movie is always a human actor, so we shall keep this tradition. But the man in the suit must absolutely, unequivocally be Hayden Christensen. This is not up for debate. He’s earned it. Use that James Earl Jones AI for the voice if you want. (The Emperor should, of course, be portrayed by Pepe the King Prawn.)

Jabba the Hut: I think the absolutely funniest thing Disney could do in a Muppet Star Wars remake is get a big fat Irish guy to play Jabba the Hut. In fact, let’s keep it in the Star Wars family. Jabba should be played by Brendan Gleeson.

Yoda: He’s already kind of a Muppet, so we could keep him. But I think it would be much funnier if Yoda was played by a live action Frank Oz. Just regular human Frank Oz using his normal speaking voice, but still talking all backwards.

Muppet Cast Luke Skywalker: Piggy is obviously going to be Leia so Kermit should not be Luke. Luke should be played by Walter from the 2011 movie.

Princess Leia: Miss Piggy. Duh. Weren’t you just listening?

Han Solo: This is where we will cast Kermit.

Chewbacca: Fozzie Bear.

C-3PO & R2-D2: Bunsen & Beaker.

Obi-Wan Kenobi: Pops.

Grand Moff Tarkin: Sam the Eagle.

General Dodonna: Rowlf the Dog. We will also use him for General Rieekan in TESB and General Madine in ROTJ.

Highlights From My Great Con-junction Experience

Receiving autographs and having conversations with Lisa Maxwell, Stephen Garlick, Warrick Brownlow-Pike, Helena Smee, Louise Gold, and Victor Yerrid

Getting a picture taken with Louise Gold and a professional one with Lisa Maxwell. Both women were extremely lovely but Lisa was especially wonderful to interact with! She treated me like her best friend and was super super sweet 🥹 (pics with both are on my instagram @loyal.maudra)

Meeting Louise was amazing because she was part of the OG Muppet Show crew back in the 70s/80s before she worked on Dark Crystal, specifically as Annie Sue Pig (and I’m sure many more). It was sort of a dream come true as a lifelong Muppet/Jim Henson fan to receive an autograph and have a pic taken with someone from the original show!

Attending Cory Godbey’s Illustration Workshop where we learned how to draw a Mystic

Meeting @thanatasia (who I consider a dear friend) in person! We attended many of the panels together as well as the illustration workshop. She is the sweetest! 💕

Though I didn’t get anything signed or a pic, I had a quick convo with J.M. Lee about the books, he was very nice!

I did have more than one convo with Cory and Helena respectively, they were both so kind ❤️ Honestly talking to Cory was like talking to a friend, we even hugged before I left 😊

Warrick told me that Freckles does have an actual name!! He just forgets what it was 🙃

The cosplay competitions were amazing!! Seriously so much fun to watch! I will be posting clips on insta and my TikTok simply.cozz soon!

On the second day while I was up in the museum, LISA HENSON HERSELF WALKED IN!!! I didn’t talk to her bc I didn’t want to bother her while she was looking around (I could have gone to the Group Signing and spoken with her but I missed that 🤦🏻‍♀️) but to see her in person and be so close was absolutely surreal!!

FUN FACT: Before Sigourney Weaver, Lisa Maxwell was supposed to narrate the intro to ep. 1 of AoR as Kira, which she did record before they chose Weaver; this recording was sold at Lisa’s booth but I received one FOR FREE from her assistant because I guess I was special for some reason??? I haven’t listened to it yet bc it’s on a USB-type chip that goes into a computer but I can’t wait to hear KIRA’S VOICE as the Storyteller!! There were only like 50 of these chips in existence so yeah, I don’t know what I did to deserve one but 🫠🫠

At the closing ceremony we got to chant the Prophecy from the movie (when single shines the triple sun ect), it was honestly kind of emotional to see all these Dark Crystal fans and creators come together like that at this event 😭

Okay so we know Izzy is the human in the Muppet Movie. But if everyone was played by Muppets who would they be?

Stede is MISS PIGGY. I know, I know, you're expecting Kermit, but Miss Piggy is FABULOUS and FANCY until it is time to KARATE CHOP!!

Lucius is SCOOTER. he follows the boss around with a clip board and has 1 emotional intelligence. Sometimes thinks himself smarter and above the rest of the crew but always winds up joining in.

Roach is PEPE KING PRAWN. He's the cook. But mostly the vibe is right. And the EYES

The Swede is obviously THE SWEDISH CHEF. they even have a similar singing voice

Frenchie is RIZZO . he's wise cracking and little more down to earth....sometimes....but often manages to say the weirdest thing.

Buttons is GONZO. because he's batshit, and talks to his birds.

Karl is CAMILLA. (Karl's in the cast. )

Black Pete is UNCLE DEADLY out here trying to relive his glory days and thinking he's scarier than he is

Oluwande is FOZZY. he loves a good joke, but he has a big heart.

Wee John is SWEETUMS. mostly cause he big.

Jim is ANIMAL . No gender. Just violence.

Edward is KERMIT. him sane? He's sailing on the Revenge with the rest of them.

Fang and Ivan are STATLER AND WALDORF. they're just here to be a sassy ass double act.

Badminton (s) are SAM THE EAGLE, of course, a bit disgruntled to be playing British men.

Calico Jack is CRAZY HARRY. He's just here to blow shit up.

Mary is ANNIE SUE. yes I had to deep dive after saying "you know the pig? The pig who isn't Piggy and Piggy doesn't like her but she's nice?" For like five minutes. Anyway her name is Annie Sue and she's very NICE .

Doug is ROLF. I can't justify this but Rolf is cool and chill and the vibes are there.

Spanish Jackie is just....LESLIE JONES. She also has Human In the Muppet Movie vibes, but in a different way. She's the special guest star who is SUPER EXCITED TO BE IN THE MUPPET MOVIE and quickly descends to their level.

And Izzy of course, is just Con O'Neil, who has DEFINITELY wandered into the wrong set.

listen. that was a good post but here's the REAL muppet odyssey cast. gonzo and rizzo as homer/rizzo the rat is good. kermit as odysseus. miss piggy double cast as penelope and circe because i cannot resist the casting of miss piggy as circe. robin as telemachus. the gods are all human celebrities except for the muses who cameo as dr teeth and the electric mayhem. annie sue or that new girlfriend pig from the sitcom as calypso. sweetums as polyphemus. there's more. um. link hogthrob as one of the suitors.

Muppet movies I’d like

- an original movie that parodies tropes from mafia movies starring Kermit as a PI and Fozzie as his assistant getting tangled up with a few groups of mobsters, a mob of pigs led by Miss Piggy, a Mob of Dogs led by Rowlf with another dog muppet as a red herring leader due to Rowlfs laid back nature, and a third Mob of Rats run by an old Rat with Rizzo wanting to prove he’s best choice to take over and Pepe is his buddy helping him figure out how to prove it. The Electric Mayhem would be playing at every one of the different mobs clubs, Kermit would comment on this and Floyd would shrug and say “a gigs a gig”. Gonzo and a group of chickens would try and act as an up and coming mob and a threat to the others. They would not be but Gonzo would show up at the weirdest places and times for comedic effect but would prove important for the plot near the end. Maybe a trilogy.

- a Muppet Frankenstein remake, Dr. Bunsen Honeydew would be Doctor Frankenstein and Beaker would be the monster. Bunsen Honeystein would reflect on feeling lonely and wishing he had someone to do experiments with. So he’d create the Honeystein’s Monster, Beaker. After a montage of them doing experiments where Beaker always experiencing the negative effects he’d run away. Every new interaction he has also goes awry leading up to the villagers chasing him. Bunsen is able to catch up to them and explains Beaker is not malicious just very accident prone. Beaker would realize none of the experiments were set up to hurt him on purpose and that Bunsen truly does care about him. A misstep of Beakers would still cause the windmill to catch fire but everyone would be okay. The little girl with the flowers would either be Annie Sue or Janice but they wouldn’t die, but Beaker would run off before witnessing them surface in the river.

- A Muppet Remake of Dreamworks “Bee Movie”. The humans would mostly be Pigs with some other humanoid muppets mixed in. Miss Piggy would play that lady Vanessa, Link Hogthrob would be her boyfriend Ken, and obviously Kermit would play Barry B Benson. Now, either the whole thing would be revised to be something about Pigs and Frogs being unable to get along or something, or the plot would be the the exact same with the other bees played by new Bee puppets and Kermit playing the part of a bee completely straight, still being a frog but in a black and yellow striped sweater. That wild defence attorney would be played by Dr. Julius Strangepork because please picture him asking Kermit in his faux German accent if he’s Miss Piggy’s “little bedbug?” And Kermit giving us a real good scrunch face and a genuine “I don’t know what to say to that”. And Barry’s friend would also be someone, probably Fozzie, in a striped sweater, and instead of stinging the attorney in the courtroom he’d hit him with a rubber chicken or something. They would still call it a sting though.

-And Finally a series of Muppet Movies based on the Sherlock Holmes novels Starring Rowlf as Sherlock Holmes and Baskerville the Hound as Watson. This could also make a decent show tbh and is 100% based on this one sketch from The Muppet Show
