uh oh Annika’s rambling abt Panathir again, jeez louise‼️
(putting it under the cut bc it’s truly a ramble/thinking-out-loud type of thing after I went back thru my game notes)
doing some Panathir work & I’m VERY indecisive about how magically inclined he is. I’m looking back at the notes I had taken when he first appeared in the dnd game & he was like…very strong. like a true blue sorcerer.
however, this makes zero sense in my canon now bc Jax has zero magical ability, and they were both created and trained to be the same, which means they were both created to be dual-wielding melee warriors. like I think he could’ve honed some magical ability, but I don’t think it would be enough to be doing all the craziness he had done in the first encounter. man was like earth bending and shit LOL.
however however…it’s so fucking cool. like he kidnapped one of Jax’s friends and psychologically tortured him by like slowing down time and altering his reality and stuff, & he had set up his lair in the sewers with trap doors and invisible doors. and it was really fucking scary in the game. like he slowed down time and made it seem like the friend had been there for two weeks, but it was only like an hour in real time, and there was a scary ass moment where he was shaving the friend’s face with a knife very gently & me and all the players were sitting there like 😬‼️
but then again I did have him doing some really crazy rune and soul magic that I refuse to take out…but it also is very inherently nepherit since they do deal in minor soul magic already to switch bodies. but also the villains he’s working with are only using him bc they believe he is a necromancer…which he isn’t LOL. but I would assume he’s honed his magic more intently since then, right????
and if he can do all that psychological torture magic, part of me is like “well he wouldn’t use it on Jax bc he respects them and wants their genuine love” but another part is like “ok well he literally fried an entire family just to get Jax’s attention, so he’s not a particularly clear thinker” and also “if he’s already manipulating them, then it’s not particularly genuine love, eh?” but who’s to say he recognizes that. I don’t think he does.
it is tricky to adopt a character, esp one that was kinda made based on cool vibes LOL. like my partner did a lot of DM’ing on the fly in the moment and occasionally it would not add up; this happened often with Panathir imo LMAO (sorry to my dear partner). also technically I’m his third owner, but when he was first created for a one-shot by one of the players (hilariously the same one who was tortured by him later), he wasn’t intended to be a nepherit. he was just some guy & then my partner yoinked him and put him in the real game.
ALSO another weird fun fact is that he said his name was Burlin—the original name he was made with by that player—and at some point that I entirely missed like years later, my partner changed his name to Panathir & I have no idea why. like it’s better than Burlin, but idk why he changed it LOL. like i kinda know why he goes by Panathir in my canon (when the nepherits were free, they started choosing real names. some were based on their nepherit code, which is what Jax had done, but since they both shared a similar code [J4X-11 & J4X-115], Panathir went his own way [hashtag mgtow] and wanted to separate himself from that forced comparison). he’s a character of many names ig!

The Batman (2022) -  Review
Tumblr media
So, I finally got to watch The Batman as it came out on HBO Max and I want to give my general opinion on the movie. First I wanna say I really love the whole aesthetics of the movie, the scenery, the illumination and camera work of the scenes were all incredible and the movies soundtrack is just awesome. The action scenes are also incredible. This all makes watching this movie a very pleasing experience. I would even say it’s a work of art.
I will be talking about some spoilers bellow the cut, so beware if you haven’t seen the movie yet.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now into the characters. Beginning with the man himself, Bruce Wayne, or should I say, Mr. Vengeance? I think the more interesting thing about this version of Bruce is that there isn't really a distinction between his secret identity as the millionaire Bruce Wayne and his true self as The Batman. Bruce is still at the beginning of his career and not yet realized how much more he could do as not only Batman, but Bruce Wayne as well. Only at the end of the movie is when he starts to realize that, and I'm excited to see how the character will change in the next appearances. Another thing I loved about this Bruce is how they showed Batman not only as some terrifying guy who appear to beat criminals on alleys, but as a detective. Batman has always be a detective in the comics but we not always see that part of him on movies. Things are different this time. We see him working with the police, investigating crime scenes, interrogating suspects and so on. Robert Pattinson also do a awesome job portraying the character and all of that together makes this version of Batman one of the best yet and definitely my favorite one.
Tumblr media
Paul Dano’s The Riddler also impressed me. I love the parallel they make between him and Batman, with both of them applying their own kind of justice. I also never thought a redditor Batman villain would work so well. I think the way they make it appear as if Ed had discovered Bruce’s identity was really clever. And the revelation that he actually thought that Batman was on his side and working with him was great too. They also make a great job and showing that what is more dangerous in people like the Riddler isn't just what he is capable of doing himself, but actually what he inspires other people to do.
Tumblr media
Another character that also make a parallel with Bruce is Zoë Kravitz’s Selina Kyle. She’s also in a quest for justice/vengeance just like Bruce and Ed, and she has her own way of pursuing it. At first she only wanted to get her fathers money, not exactly to punish him, but because she thought that she deserved it. She only decides to kill her father when she discovers that he killed her friend Annika. I think that is a great way to show that while Ed pursues a more cruel vengeance and Bruce values justice more, Selina is kinda in the midle. Her view on justice appears to be more focused on herself at first, and she could easily be pushed to any of the other sides of justice. Looks like she grew up in the same orphanage as Ed too. Once again I think this is one of the best portrayals of the character yet, and definitely my favorite one. She also appears to be bissexual in this, like she has been in the comics for ages, what is also great.
Tumblr media
I also loved the relationship between the Batman and Jeffrey Wright’s Gordon. I always love to see the friendship of those two characters, and this time wasn’t different. His character also serves to show that not everyone in the GCPD was a bad person, even though almost every other cop in the movie was corrupt. just like real life. Their scenes makes the whole film feels like a cop movie, I’m no gonna lie.
Tumblr media
We can also see how strong is the fight for power and influence in Gotham, before The Batman and The Riddler, it would appear like that fight was between the criminals and the GCPD, but we actually learn that the GCPD was actually working for Carmine Falcone all along, that in fact was what makes the Riddler think he needed to expose the truth to everyone and the reason why he thought that Batman would appreciate what he was doing. The movie also makes we question if Bruce actually wasn't grateful for those corrupt people getting  killed, even if was just a little. We never actually get a real answer, but at the end of the movie he realizes what real justice is and what he actually need to become for the sake of Gotham. With the truth exposed and after everything that he has learned, Bruce will now have to fight to become a real influence in the city, both as Batman and Bruce Wayne, specially since now the control of the city is up for grabs, and we actually see some people that he might have to fight in the future for that control, like the Penguin and possible, the Joker. I can´t wait to see the future of this world and characters, and I hope this was just the beginning.

“all answers! I OKAY with Lukas” translation (part 1)
Annika: So! We didn’t change clothes!
Lukas: Heh, what?
Annika: It’s a few weeks later but we’re still wearing the same clothes. And hello guys and welcome to this video. I already announced a few weeks ago that there will be an extra video about transgender in regards to the series Druck which is also by funk, it’s linked in the description. Its 3rd season was about...
Lukas: ...Matteo, a gay boy who firstly has to accept the fact that he is homosexual himself, and then falls in love with David. But as he realizes that Matteo is very much interested in David, he distances himself because he’s transgender and doesn’t know how to deal with it.
Annika: And we’ll talk about a few scenes I picked out. It’s best if you watch the show first, it’s linked in the info box--
Lukas: There’ll be spoilers here...
Annika: Yeah, here will definitely be spoilers, just now, in fact. I think we should stop rambling now and begin!
Okay, in episode 25 David distances himself from Matteo because the point is drawing near that he has to come out as transgender sooner or later. Now I wanted to ask you if something like this happened to you in real life as well, i.e. that someone fell in love with you and you had to come out and it got worse because of that.
Lukas: Uhm, no, for me it was that if you’re trans -- this is my experience, I can only talk about my experience -- uhm, during that time where people start dating I had to spend a lot of time with myself, inevitably, because of puberty when things changed that made me not feel comfortable. Which is why during that time there was no place for a relationship or sexuality for me. And my first relationship was when I -- I wasn’t out, I wasn’t out to school -- but the relationship was from a youth club in Hamburg, a LGBT youth club, that’s where I met him and he was pansexual and then we were together. And yeah.
Annika: Yeah cool!
Lukas: But that was -- well, until now I never had this situation regarding a relationship where I really waited such a long time for it to get problematic, but I understand it very well; he came to school with the intention to just get through it, he was bullied at his old school... But I would advise everyone to be as open with it as you can, because at the end of the day you have to talk about it and if you’re really important to that person, then...
Annika: Yeah, I always tell men before they fall in love with me that I’m lesbian, so...
Lukas: Every man, really, right?
Annika: Yes it’s so exhausting!
Lukas: Hello, I’m lesbian, I know, I’m sorry.
Annika: Hello I’m lesbian!
Then there was also an iconic line in the show: “It’s not you, it’s me”
Lukas: Yes!
Annika: A classic, I’ve said it before, have you?
Lukas: Mh... Yeah.
(his phone rings)
Annika: Hey now! Mobile phones have to be turned off during class!
Lukas: My mom called.
Annika: Raise your hands if you said that line at some point. Nice.
Lukas: I think in that moment David says that as well...
Annika: But it’s so true!! I mean if you don’t have feelings for someone than it’s you yourself. Well, also it’s the other person because they’re not compatible with -- okay let’s move on.
So! Next thing I wrote down, episode 28, the outing.
Lukas: The outing. *dum dum dum*
Annika: I wrote this down because... Matteo, in that moment, was really overwhelmed by the information.
(cut to druck clip of David coming out)
Is that-- does that happen often, that people are really overwhelmed with the situation when you tell them that, yeah, I was a woman, I mean-- uh, that’s also reprehensible, isn’t it?
Lukas: Yeah yeah yeah, a woman, ah??
Annika: I mean physically!
Lukas: Physically!
Annika: Phew! It’s so hard, I’m sitting here and have to struggle...
Lukas: Me too, hello? Even I can say something transphobic. But, that’s the thing: when I say something transphobic it’s always like “No. He’s transgender, he can’t be transphobic, that’s complicated”.
For me it’s like that by now, yes. When you’re not passing, when people look at you and are still like... have to think about it then it’s mostly like... “okay, huh, what does that mean?”, which pronouns, which names and stuff, but by now, since I’m very passing fortunately--
Annika: Passing means you are,,,
Lukas: That you’ll be recognized as the gender you feel.
Annika: Learned something again.
Lukas: Exactly. These are the terms. And then it’s mostly just “Huh? Okay?”... But I honestly have to say that I don’t run around and say hey I’m trans when I meet someone.
Annika: Hey! Lesbian!
Lukas: Yeah, like that! Even a lot of the cast -- background info -- a lot of the cast, even when we were in the middle of filming, thought I’m cisgender. They didn’t know I’m trans.
Annika: Awesome. I also thought, I really would have liked to watch this without knowing that you’re a trans man. If I would’ve checked that or not. You can write in the comments how that was for you.
Lukas: Yeah, if one of you didn’t know that spoiler already.
Annika: Yeah, and now a general question that might be a bit emotional, but... does rejection happen often?
Lukas: Rejection... naturally there are friends that come and go. When I came out pubically, in school, there were a few people who distanced themselves but that was okay for me because I don’t need these kind of people...
Annika: I always say you can sort out your friends really well like this. If people stay with you despite that information -- this sounds so stupid -- because you’re still the same person as before, then they are real friends and people who are like “oh my gooood nooo byeee” then you can sort them out, that’s what I always say, which is why it isn’t a loss.
Lukas: Yeah, with transgender it’s always like, “are you someone else now?” but you’re still the same person, it’s just the gender that’s now right and the way you feel and how you want to be addressed as.
I had a job offer with children that was denied because I’m transgender. And that, that was... that hurt a little. But that was in the moment that they told me “can’t you work as female here?”
Annika: What?!
Lukas: I mean, “start working here, that’s almost the same, we also had lesbian people here” and I was like yeah. Cool.
Annika: What is that even-- What even is the difference???
Lukas: Yeah... they were like, “we’re afraid the parents might have a problem with this and that you’re confusing the children”, so these classic statements...
Annika: Oh my god... Every kid that I touch turns lesbian. It is contagious.
Lukas: It’s difficult.
But then I declined with thanks to work there as a girl.
Annika: A scene that I found beautiful is when Matteo talked to his flatmate and the flatmate just said “hey, what even is your problem with David being transgender? What do you like about him?” and this question was so nice, what do you like about him, because I think the same thing. I love that person not because they’re a woman but because the way they are. I mean, that she’s a woman is an influence, but... the person themselves is important. That’s what I wanted to say and that’s what I found beautiful.
(cut to druck clip of Matteo talking to Hans about David)
Lukas: And that is what you have to decide for yourself, to say, okay, can I imagine being with a trans man -- I can’t force anyone to be into me?
Annika: I can.
Lukas: But in the show it was nice for me to have Hans ask what is the important thing.
Annika: Then it comes to the big outing in school. Because the PE teacher doesn’t want to grade David as a man but as a woman.
(cut to druck clip of the coming out)
Lukas: You can’t say that it’s not unrealistic. It is realistic.
The problem with school is always grading and especially regarding PE, boys and girls are graded differently, and...
Annika: I always got so upset because I wanted to be graded the same way as boys, they’re not better than I am! But at high jump I was kinda glad that girls were graded differently...
Lukas: That scene is only on the phone’s display and we started to act this scene in the changing room and Neuhaus says to David “but that’d be so positive for you, you’re getting better grades then!”. Mr. Neuhaus in our story -- that was important for us and the actor -- he’s not just evil. He’s not doing this to make David feel bad but he wanted to help him actually. David reacts accordingly, he’s like uh no? and that’s what makes him mad, he has his plan and that didn’t work out. And with school it’s difficult, there are a lot of things that you have to be aware of. Before I was out I talked to my school for about a month what you can do, with names, on certifications and such, all of that has to do with your ID and burocracy, uh, pretty boring stuff. And toilets, for example, too. In one scene, David comes out of a toilet which is actually a toilet for the teachers. At my school I got the key for the disabled toilet, which is of course a bit... critical... transgender isn’t a disability. That wasn’t what that meant. It draws attention to you, which isn’t convenient but... you have to find solutions so that everyone can deal with it.
I think what you have to say is that the reactions of the students on that staircase are a first reaction. It’s not something where they group up because they’re standing there a bit like chickens on the roost and are like “okay. now you’re over. You’re out of this school”...
People react to a new information that they didn’t expect and that’s the big thing in that moment.
Annika: Especially at that age there’ll be big gossip.
Lukas: When I came out to my school, my classmates reacted really positively and were really nice and I don’t want anyone who’s transgender and watches this show to think this is what will happen, I mean you can also see in the following episodes that--
Annika: That everyone stand up for him because that’s something normal.
Lukas: Exactly.
Annika: Often it’s better to be self-confident, because then people think “okay, I won’t say anything then”. When they realize that you’re an easy target then they attack you.
Lukas: Right. You shouldn’t be ashamed of who you are or what makes you different but be proud because that’s what makes you to the person that you are.

Falling For You- An LGBTQ+ Story
Hey Loves!
I got this story idea not too long ago and wanted to know what people thought. So I wrote some of it. This is written in more of a oneshot format I’d love to know what you guys think of it. If people like it I’ll write more. I’m mostly just writing this to get feedback from people. If you love it, tell me. If you hate it, tell me. If you think it's the most mediocre thing you've ever read, tell me. Don’t worry about offending me or anything because I’m asking for it. I don't mind negative comments about the story itself, but comments about the LGBTQ+ community that are in any way, shape or form meant to attack people or to degrade them, those comments will not be tolerated and will be reported. This page is a safe place of love and acceptance, let’s keep it that way.
I cannot take all the credit for this story. I seriously need to thank my friends Annika (@neekpie/https://neekpie.tumblr.com/Go follow her) and Leo. They helped me to write and edit this story a lot and not crediting them would literally be a freaking crime. So thanks you guys. Go follow them, they're two of the coolest people I know.
Well I hope you enjoy reading this, don’t forget to comment and tell me what you think!
Thanks for reading this
When I open the door to go downstairs I can feel the world spinning under me. The all too familiar feeling that comes on before I have a not so subtle reboot. God only knows what’s triggering it this time. Is it too hot in the room? Am I slightly dehydrated? Is my glucose off? Is my body just being a jerk? All the questions go flowing through my mind like a river, but I can’t help but feel annoyed that I’m either going to faint again just like a few days ago or I feel like I’m about to faint yet again. Then I see her. The girl I can only describe as “Pretty Girl.” She was beautiful with mocha skin, kind eyes and height that sank far below most people’s. She walks. I walk. She comes up the stairs. We’re going to pass each other. She looks as beautiful as ever. Bangs pulled out of her face, headphones out for once which was a rare occurrence for her. Her chocolate eyes meet mine as I hold the door open for her and she quietly utters “Thanks,” as she’s about to walk through the door.
“You're wel-”
My eyes open to her hovering over me, eyes wide and staring directly into mine. “Oh my god. Are you okay?” She asks with a look of pure shock, she honestly looks terrified. I nod slightly, still feeling weak. “Come here,” She helps me sit up to sit against the wall. Her hand comes up and pushes a few loose strands of hair out of my face. I'm glad I just fainted, because if I hadn’t I would’ve said something stupid when she touched me. She pulled her water bottle out of the side pocket of her backpack “Here, drink some.”
“Thanks,” I whisper taking it and taking a couple small sips and handing it back to her.
“Are you okay?” She asks again putting the water bottle back in her bag, never quite breaking eye contact.
“I'm fine,” I say with a chuckle. “This happens all the time.”
“Really?” Her eyes grow even wider than before.
“Really.”
“We should go to the nurse anyway. I mean just in case.” My heart nearly stops when she says ‘we’.
“Yeah, guess so,” I laugh casually, hopefully letting her know that it’s okay, and that it's not as serious a situation as she thinks it is. “I didn't hit my head or anything, did I?” I ask as I stand up and push myself off the wall. She keeps a close eye while I do this, probably to make sure that I don't faint again or whatever.
“No, I don't think so,” she says. While she speaks, she looks at the floor around us as if she’s searching for something that I can't quite put my finger on.
“Okay good.” I smile. “Just wanted to make sure because I’ve done that before.” We pick up our bags and start toward the office. She opens the door this time.
“You have?”
“Like I said, I faint all the time. It's so annoying.” I over exaggerate the word annoying.
“Wow,” She laughs slightly, as if asking permission for it to be okay to laugh.
“Yeah. I had someone screaming ‘this girl is dead! This girl is DEAD’ once when it happened at the grocery store and I came to about 45 seconds after falling.” I laugh and shake my head at the memory.
“Wait, really?” She giggles.
“Yes! It was so ridiculous!” I exclaim.
“People are so dumb,” she shakes her head, she’s still laughing. She has a nice laugh. It’s cute. “I’m Adrianna by the way.” I knew that, but acted like I didn’t.
“Rosie.” She reaches out to shake my hand and I take it. It’s warm. Mine are freezing as always. They say when you touch the hands of someone special you feel a spark. I can tell you that statement is one hundred percent true, even as cheesy as it sounds, and that it’s worth the wait. She nearly jumps when she feels how cold my hand is.
“Sorry. They’re always cold.” I say apologetically.
“You don't need to apologize for what you can’t control.” She smiles and shakes her head. She rearranges our hands and interlaces our fingers and we walk silently to the nurse’s office together.
‘Dear God, why is she still holding my hand?’ I think as we approach the office. I never want to let go of her. I can’t help but notice that our hands fit perfectly together. Like puzzle pieces and her hand was the piece I didn’t know I was missing. I feel the blush seeping into my cheeks, I try to hide it, but I fail.
“Again Rosie?” Nurse Jacobs says when I walk in. (We’ve gotten pretty well acquainted at this point seeing as how I’m always here.) Adrianna drops my hand hastily.
“Yep. In the hallway by the steps.”
“Did you hit your head?” This is literally a dance. We do this every few days. Same thing. Every. Single. Time.
“I see you’ve brought Miss Adrianna with you?” She asks eyeing her. Her face turns a light pink and she looks down at her well worn dark orange converse high top and nods. I didn’t realize until now that she’s holding my book. I set my bag down and sit in the chair. Nurse Jacobs grabs a small device off her desk and clips it on my finger.
“Adrianna,” Nurse Jacobs says and Adrianna takes her eyes off of her shoes “you can go to class now, thank you for helping out.” She nods, sets my book down next to me, gives me a little smile and leaves without another word. She’s beautiful. The quiet beeping of the device pulls me from my thoughts and transfers my focus down to my finger. Itreads 72 as a pulse rate and a 90 for blood oxygen rate. Which is pretty decent. I run low on everything. “What was your BP this morning?” She asks scribbling the numbers in a notepad on her desk.
“97 over 64,” I say “Kinda low.”
“A little bit.” She sighs “You feeling okay now?”
“I'm good right now,” I answer, staring up at the ceiling.
“Okay, you can go back to class or lay down, it's your call.”
“I’ll just go to class, I feel just fine.” I stand up and pick up my bag and my book, wondering what class Adrianna went to.
“Just keep an eye on the levels, don't ignore them.”
“I won't I promise.” I grin. “Thanks.”
“Have a nice day, Rosie.”
“You too,” I say and push open the metal door to leave.
After dinner that night, I opened my book to where I left off last. A little shred of paper fell out and it said,
“(xxx) xxx-xxxx -Adrianna ❤️ :)”
The x’s at the end are a stand in for a phone number (in case you didn't get it) because I don’t want a random person in Connecticut or Utah or whatever to get calls from random people for no reason. Tell me what you think!
Thanks loves!

All I Ask of You Pt. 31
Tumblr media
“There’s only us, there’s only this, forget regret, or life is yours to miss” - “Another Day” from Rent
Pairing: Peter Parker x Reader
Word Count: 2.2k
Summary: Some solutions are finally popping up
Warnings: I can’t think of any???
A/N: So! This month is gonna be a trip and a half, so updates may be spotty because of my real life is getting busy. But I will do my best to keep up with everything. As always, the masterlist is in my bio!
It was easier said than done to come up with the proper web formula for Peter. Even with one of the biggest tech geniuses in the world, they were getting nowhere. Not that it surprised Annie, she had never been a genius when it came to science. Naturally, getting anything that would be somewhat helpful was nearly impossible.
Nearly.
“Come on, there has to be something that if she tried to push it apart, it would either not budge or would make things worse,” Tony said, starting to pace around the room.
Peter nodded, “Yeah, I know. It has to be something super weird and high tech though.”
“Why? I mean, can’t it be something so stupidly simple that you guys are overlooking it?” Annie asked, looking between the both of them before spinning around in an office chair for the umpteenth time that day.
Tony rolled his eyes, “You really think that I haven’t already thought of some pretty basic stuff? I’m an expert on this, and we have multiple people thinking about this.”
“Yeah, but even with two people who know a lot, we have nothing,” she pointed out.
Peter sighed, “Then do you have any ideas? They’re your powers, you should know what you’re limited to.”
“I know that if I shock an electrical socket that it causes a fire… you guys have to realize I’m not that smart when it comes to this stuff. I just run around and blast stuff all day. If you could drain all the energy out of the universe, then maybe that would do it,” she said, running a hand through her hair.
Peter paused, “What if the webbing just absorbed energy? No one would get hurt, but the energy would just keep being absorbed and it would be a trap.”
“But that sounds way too complicated. Do you have a formula for something like that?” Annie questioned.
Tony stopped walking, “We would figure it out. We might be on borrowed time, but we can sort this sort of thing out.”
“I don’t know… that seems too difficult. Like, I feel like it needs to be something that would do more than trap and that it could have a simpler concept than an ever-absorbing web fluid,” she replied, crossing her arms.
“Well then what do you think? You haven’t offered a single suggestion this whole time,” Tony said.
Annie huffed, “That’s what I’ve been thinking about. I mean, it’s kinda on the tip of my tongue… like, what if it’s something like… oh I got it!”
“What is it?” asked Peter.
Annie stood up and looked at them, “Okay, so, Peter, you remember environmental science when we were going through that one unit with the minerals in the ground and attraction and all that stuff, right?”
“Um… yeah, the geology one?”
“Yeah, that’s the word! Okay, and I’m gonna focus on that attraction thing for a hot minute. So you have magnets and they basically stay together because they’re attracted to each other, right?”
“Yeah…”
“Exactly, so when people started making bombs and Mr. Jackson got off track that one time and he told us that it wasn’t splitting things apart that caused the explosion, but it was the particles coming back together that did it.”
Tony nodded slowly, “Where were you going with this?”
“That’s what I’m getting to! If we make a magnetic web fluid and I tried to blast it, it would split apart only to come back together harder and then backfire, right?”
Peter’s eyes widened before rushing to Annie and picking her up, “Ann, that’s brilliant! This is… this is a great idea! We just gotta make it small and it’ll work great, right Mr. Stark?”
“It’s the only real idea we have, so it’s worth a try. I think it’ll work, though. That’s actually a good idea,” Tony agreed.
Peter kissed her on the forehead, “It’s a great idea, actually. He’s just a little surprised that you said something.”
“Hey, I can say some smart stuff every once in a while, give me a little credit,” Annie smirked.
Tony chuckled, “Just watch the PDA you two. Still don’t want any weird mutant babies running around when we get back to New York.”
“Yeah, ‘cause that’s totally possible,” Peter responded, rolling his eyes before setting Annie back down on the chair.
Aside from spending time with Peter and Tony while trying to work out what to do about Carnival, she had also been trying to figure out how she felt about having to see someone. It was something that she knew was supposed to be good. Obviously, she didn’t like having breakdowns or not being able to sleep, but she also didn’t like bringing it up too often.
She would end up talking about things that had already happened. Things that she felt like she should have been over by then. It was obvious that the world hadn’t ended. People weren’t out for her head and no one said anything about her superhero alter-ego being the cause of destruction or murder any longer.
It was something that shouldn’t have been bothering her. At the same time, what if getting help made her forget about all the things that happened? Annie couldn’t afford to forget about people like Greg or Tina. She wanted to move on, but some of the things that happened were things she needed to remember so she wouldn’t make the same mistakes. If she was going to do anything idiotic or impulsive, it needed to be in a new way. That way, she was at least showing that she was trying to improve herself. Though, it still felt like that was easier said than done.
Then there was the nagging feeling that the therapist lady was just going to tell someone exactly who she was. That she was going to get turned into the authorities and then she would be inevitably screwed over and then ruined. All because she couldn’t control her emotions for a few weeks.
Needless to say, Annie was starting to wish that she hadn’t said anything in the first place and that she could just go on with her day. Maybe she could just say that she wasn’t feeling too great and that she would just reschedule the appointment. That was still an option, wasn’t it?
However, it was starting to become clear during lunch that there was no way she would be able to get out of it. Which, Annie knew was a good thing, but she couldn’t help her hesitation. There were so many risks that she wasn’t so sure about taking. At the same time, no one there would make her do something if it was going to be too risky.
“Hey, Annie, you ready for your appointment?” Pepper asked once everyone was nearly done eating.
Annie shrugged, “I mean, I guess, I don’t really know.”
“It’s almost like you need a therapist because of your therapist already,” Harper noted, “But you need that.”
“I know, but… I just don’t talk to many people about this sort of thing. Thinking about it feels weird,” she explained.
Harper shrugged, “Yeah, well, it’ll feel less weird if you just go ahead and do it, you know?”
“They’re probably right,” Peter added, “You need this sort of thing, and I mean, you won’t really know about how this is gonna be until you try it.”
“Yeah, but that doesn’t make it less… I don’t know, weird, I guess? I don’t even know this lady, and I know that’s supposed to make things less biased or whatever, but it still feels weird? But we’ll see,” Annie said, sighing.
Still, despite her worries, she was right in front of a computer about to have a skype appointment. Maybe that was what really made things feel weird. When she thought about therapy, she always thought of a couch that she could lay down across and blabber about all her problems for an hour or so.
Instead, she sat at the dining room table in her cabin, knowing that she was not going to have the stereotypical therapy experience. Then again, what had she expected in the first place?
Just as her thoughts were starting to wander, she saw another face at the screen, “Hello, are you Annika Hardwick?”
“Um yeah, just call me Annie… and you’re um… sorry, it kinda slipped my mind.”
“Doctor Stevenson, but you can call me Hannah,” the woman replied.
Hannah looked like she was middle aged and good-natured. At least, she looked like she was a mom to a couple of kids or something of that nature. And Annie could already tell that she was reading into this just a little bit too much. Hopefully that wouldn’t mean that she was starting things off awkwardly.
Annie took a deep breath, “So um… I’ve never done anything like this before, I mean, I guess that’s kinda obvious, but… yeah, what do I talk about?”
“Well, I don’t want to make you talk about anything you’re uncomfortable with just yet. So, just tell me about yourself. Your basic life, no need to get into anything too gritty unless you want to,” she explained.
Annie nodded slowly, “Okay, well, I’m mainly a theater geek. Like, I love musicals and stuff a lot, and I’d say I’m pretty good at acting or whatever. I mean, I’m not going to Broadway right after high school, but I don’t suck either… you know?”
“It sounds like you’re really passionate about it. What else is there?”
“Well, let’s see… I have powers, I’m not totally sure where they came from, but I was a test tube baby so that’s probably part of it. I mean, I don’t know if you already knew about that or not, but I’m actually a superhero. Which, I mean, that’s normally pretty cool. Saving people’s good for the dopamine and whatnot, right?”
Dr. Stevenson nodded, “That would be correct, what do your relationships look like?”
“Oh, I have my best friend, Harper. They’re really cool and they make clothes for fun and wanna be a fashion designer later on. And then there’s my boyfriend, Peter. At least, I’m almost positive we’re official? Either way, he’s really sweet and helpful. You know, one of those people you just can’t help liking. And then there’s Ned, and he’s really awesome. Super geeky, but also really funny. We’re pretty close too. Actually, they’ve all been helpful with all the stuff that’s been going down.”
“So those are the people you’re not related to, what does your relationship with your parents look like?”
Annie pursed her lips, “Can I be super blunt about them?”
“Of course, they’re not here and I want to understand you so we can work together.”
“Okay, well then, for starters, my dad can choke. He’s an asshole, excuse my language, but it’s true. All he’s done is lie to me to justify his hypocritical behavior. So, we’re not on great terms at the moment, and I don’t care to fix it at the moment, honestly. And then there’s my mom, she’s a weird case. On one hand, she’s not the best by any means, but she’s better than my dad. So I mean, if they split up, which I’d bet money that they’re gonna do that before I graduate, I’d rather move in with my mom. Plus, she makes more money anyways,” Annie replied, running a hand through her hair.
Dr. Stevenson nodded slowly, “It sounds like things are tense at home, do they know you’re a superhero?”
“Oh, no! If that happened, I would be so screwed. Because then they’d end up finding out I committed arson twice, killed a dude, and was possibly in some weird way responsible for my ex’s death? But that’s a story for another session,” she said with a weak laugh.
It continued like that for some time. Annie would explain a chunk of her life while Dr. Stevenson appeared to understand and then would ask another question about the basics of her life. Sometimes it got a little bit off-track, but that didn’t truly matter. At least, it didn’t matter to Annie. There was plenty of time to get better.
“So, our session is nearly over, but I think that I have an idea for how to proceed with treatment,” Dr. Stevenson told her.
Annie blinked, “Um… alrighty, what is it? You’re not gonna make me take a bunch of pills or something, are you?”
“No, not at all. Actually, I want to try a different form of therapy. Have you ever heard of drama therapy?”
She shook her head, “Nope, but it sounds kinda self-explanatory. I just act my way through my problems, right?”
“Yes and no. It would end up looking more like roleplaying to help you think through coping mechanisms as well as solutions to your problems. And I’ve never tried this before, but I feel like this would be the most interactive plan that you would enjoy.”
Annie thought for a moment, “You know what? I think you’re right.”
Maybe therapy wasn’t going to be as painful as she thought it was going to be.

[Part One] [Part Two] [Part Three] [Part Four] [Part Five] [Part Six] [Part Seven]
Tumblr media
You rolled your eyes and took a giant sigh as you were once again dragged around the latest designer store the three Lady Leafs had pulled you into. Your feet hurt, your body ached, and you were developing a sharp migraine; the perfect condition for going on a shopping trip you wanted no part of.
While the girls had all collected a few shopping bags for themselves, your hands still remained vacant. The only thing you carried was your small purse that was slung over your shoulder. One reason for this being you honestly didn’t have the money, as you still had to save up for your next semester of school, and the second being you didn’t typically shop at any of the boutiques the others had been frolicking around.
“Ooh, this is cute babes,”
Your Y/E/C coloured eyes drifted to your left to see Madison holding up a turquoise patterned romper. You just shrugged in response causing the older girl to immediately frown as her shoulders slumped. She’d been trying to help you find something each time you went into a different store, and you applauded her for trying, but she hadn’t hit the jackpot yet.
Your preference of clothing differed greatly from not only Madison’s, but from both Alannah and Annika’s as well. You had a completely different figure then them. You were tall, and built a lot stockier then the rest of them. You held broad shoulders and your hips curved out much more, meaning your choices of outfits that made you feel at least somewhat comfortable were limited.
“How about this? I think you’d look good in this Y/N,”
Turning back to your right, Alannah was pointing towards a set of light wash overalls that had several rips and scuffs throughout. The pant legs ended about mid calf, which you admitted wasn’t so bad, but you still didn’t exactly like them. Your eyebrows shot up. She was kidding, right?
Laughing at your reaction, Alannah grabbed the article of clothing and strutted up to you. As she pushed the denim material into your hands, she nodded towards the nearby change room, urging you to try them on.
“Just trust me, besides they’ll look cute with Will’s shirt,” she explained, ushering to your Team Sweden shirsey your good friend had gifted to you only day’s before.
“But-,”
Raising her perfectly sculpted brows, Alannah sent you a look, as if she was daring you to refuse her. You sighed, not wanting to piss off the recent law school graduate, and begrudgingly stomped off towards the change rooms.
Flopping out of your sandals and slipping out of your jeans, you yanked on the overalls and pulled the straps over your shoulders. Tucking in the yellow shirt, and doing a double take, you pursed your lips as you stood in front of the door length mirror. You then did a few circles, making sure to inspect your full figure from front to back.
You were honestly surprised. You had initially thought the denim cloth would accentuate parts of your figure you wanted to keep hidden, but it didn’t. The overalls were shockingly very flattering.
“We’re waiting,”
Alannah’s voice snapped you out of your thoughts and you took a deep sigh. Hesitating, you firmed your lips together, before you finally opened the white painted door and stepped out in front of the girls.
Looking up, Madison immediately smiled and pressed her hands together, “oh my gosh, Y/N you look awesome!”
“See, look at that, Alannah was right for once,” Annika chuckled, while the older girl just shot Kasperi’s girlfriend a look.
“It really looks okay?” you asked, just wanting to make sure they weren’t just being polite.
“In all honesty Y/N, you look great,” Alannah confirmed, as she walked forward to place her hand on your shoulder in support, “and I mean that,”
Your lips curved upwards as you nodded. You appreciated her help.
“Finally, we got something for you!” Madison exclaimed, as she pumped her fist up in victory.
“Does that mean we can finally go back?” you questioned, hoping the answer would be yes.
“We still need to find you a bathing suit though,” Alannah laughed, “remember? We want to knock Auston off his high horse, and knock the socks off all the guys,”
Your eyes widened slightly. Oh boy. You didn’t realize she was being serious.
“Well except my guy,” Annika suddenly added, causing Alannah to roll her eyes.
After changing back into your normal outfit, you paid for your new overalls, slumping slightly when you realized the price.
Noticing your change in mood, Madison raised her eyebrow towards you as you punched in the pin of your debit card.
“Everything okay?” She asked, and you nodded, wanting her to forget about it.
As you took the bag the clerk had outstretched towards you, you thanked them and then headed out of the store, with Madison by your side. Annika and Alannah had decided to wait outside.
“Alright! Next stop, bikini’s!” Annika exclaimed, as she headed off towards the high-end swim suit store across the way.
“Bikini’s?” you questioned, your mind suddenly scrambling.
Madison just chuckled before you pushed you forward in the right direction, “oh, c’mon!”
You somehow found yourself carrying a Victoria’s Secret bag, along with your earlier purchase as you stepped out of Zach’s car and walked back towards the Brown cottage. It was now into the earlier afternoon and your lack of sleep from the night before was finally catching up to you. You’d spent way more money than you had wanted to, and you were perturbed with the entire situation. Overall, you were annoyed, grumpy, and most of all, just exhausted.
“Hey! Look who finally decided to show up!”
Looking up towards the deck, your lips curved upwards as both Will and Kasperi sent you a wave. Giving them a nod of acknowledgement, you stepped into the cottage and headed towards your bedroom. As soon as you walked in, you slammed the bedroom door shut and plopped down onto the large, plush bed.
Staring up at the ceiling, you let out a loud sigh. Closing your eyes tight, you willed for sleep, but that lasted a whole two minutes.
“Y/N,” William’s voice echoed through the wooden door and he rapped against it three times.
You groaned out, sitting up slightly. You finally stood when the Swedes’ constant knocking continued.
“What?” you questioned, as you raised an eyebrow towards your friend after you swung the door open.
The blonde smiled brightly towards you, “did you want to come down to the beach with me?”
“Uh,” you murmured, as you blinked twice. You then realized he was wearing his bright pink and yellow swim trunks.
“Kap’s gone off with Annika, and I don’t want to third wheel,” he sighed, rolling his eyes at the mention of his best friend.
“What about Connor? Or Zach?” you sighed, and Will shook his head, “girlfriends,”
“I’m kinda tired Will,” you admitted, causing the power forward to frown.
“Please, you can sleep when you’re dead. Let’s go Y/N,” Morgan’s voice suddenly cut in as he appeared behind William.
“But,”
“No buts, get changed Y/N, we’re going to go have some fun,” Morgan fought back and you sighed, before closing your bedroom door once again and putting your new bathing suit on.
It was a black one-piece suit, that cut out slightly on your sides and made your bust look incredibly better than your other suit. Fixing your pony tail, you placed on your baseball cap and quickly sprayed your sunscreen on. You then made sure to wrap your beach towel around your hips before you walked out of the room and met the two boys, who had still been standing outside your door.
“Well?” William then spoke as you stepped out. You stayed silent while Morgan rolled his eyes before he gripped your right wrist in his hand.
“Morgan!” you whined, complaining as you suddenly found yourself being pulled down the hall by the older blonde.
“Let’s go, Mitchy and Matts are waiting,” Morgan spoke, while William followed the both of you out towards the deck.
“Waiting for what?”
Drinking games was the appropriate answer to that question.
“Seriously?” you groaned, once you saw the awaiting game of beer pong set up on the far dock.
“Oh, lighten up, it’ll be fun,” Morgan said, elbowing you playfully.
“Mhmm, yeah sure,” you grumbled as you approached Auston and Mitch, the latter waving towards the three of you enthusiastically.
“It’s okay Y/N, you can be on my team,” Will promised, as he sent you a sweet smile.
Now the thing about beer pong with the boys was that they didn’t get to play too often, and that when they did, rules somewhat went out the window or they were created on the fly. So, as you bounced your first ping pong ball towards it’s awaiting solo cup, you immediately cried foul when Auston smacked it out of the air.
“What?! Since when can you do that?” you questioned, crossing your arms and sending him a look.
Auston sent you a smirk, “since last round babe, gotta keep up, remember?”
You were taken aback and your lips opened slightly in shock from Auston’s choice of words. Blinking, you realized Auston had never called you that before. Feeling your heart rate increase and your cheeks warm, you looked away quickly. Luckily, the screaming match between William, who was defending your team, and Auston and Mitch had distracted them. But Morgan hadn’t missed that. The rounds referee wagged his eyebrows at you suggestively, causing you to send him a warning glare.
Several rounds later, you found yourself once again facing Auston, but this time in a singles match. Aiming the white ping pong ball towards your second last cup, you pumped your fist when Auston was unable to smack it away and it landed safely in it’s home.
Rolling his eyes, Auston took his sip of beer and clicked his tongue. “She’s beating your ass Matts,” Mitch spoke, causing William to laugh from beside him.
“Shut it Mitchy,” Auston snipped back, as he gathered the white ball and prepared for his own shot. He wasn’t necessarily wrong though, you now only had one cup left, whereas Auston had four.
Another rule the boys loved to follow was that if your ball bounced off the table, whoever grabbed it first got to shoot, rather than just handing it back to your opponent. You weren’t overly fond of this rule because many fights and injuries had ensued from it. But when Auston’s ball fell off the side of the table, you immediately jumped towards the bouncing ping pong ball.
Just as you were about to grab it however, Auston slid into you, with his arms wrapping around your waist to try and pull you away. But as Auston tried to whip you around, he scrambled when he lost his footing, sending the both of you off the dock. You shrieked when you suddenly hit the cold lake water and plunged down deep.
Kicking your feet, you gasped once you reached the surface. The three boys standing on the dock above you were howling in laughter and you frowned. Looking over, you sent Auston a glare when he emerged from the water and promptly splashed him once he sent you a weak grin.
“Oh, c’mon babe! It was an accident,” Auston chuckled, while you just swam back to the beach, not wanting him to see your bright red face.
Hours later, you found yourself in your new outfit from earlier, sitting on the edge of the boat house with Connor, Mitch and Auston. The sun had gone down and the bright stars had finally made their appearance. Leaning back up against Connor, who had sat next to you, you stared up at the lit-up sky.
“See? What did I tell ya? Today wasn’t so bad huh? Better than yesterday at least?” Connor questioned, as he leaned down a bit to catch your gaze.
Leaning further into him, you just nodded as you tried to get comfortable, causing Connor to snicker quietly.
“Brownie, is there anymore beer?” Mitch’s voice suddenly asked in a whiny tone, causing you and your best friend to turn back to look at the younger boy.
“I think you’ve had enough Mitch,” You spoke first, while Connor followed, “You guys finished it off tonight, we’ll have to run back out tomorrow for another case,”
“Well this blows,” Mitch then sighed, before he chucked his empty beer can over the edge of the dock, the sound of it splashing into the lake soon there after.
“Mitch!” you complained, sending him an unimpressed look, while the other two boys sat around you rolled their eyes.
“What? It’s just an empty can Y/N, I’m sure people have thrown way worse,” Mitch shrugged before he stood up and raised his arms up to stretch.
“But that’s not the point,” you sighed, frowning. You couldn’t help but notice the frown Auston had sent you due to your words, but you just brushed it off.
“I’ll go get it,” Connor then sighed, standing up before he took his shirt off, but before he could jump into the lake, Mitch was suddenly tossed over the railing of the boat house, screaming as he went down.
Turning around wide eyed, you and Connor stared shocked towards Auston, who now standing, had presumably knocked Mitch over the edge. You gasped, before you scurried to the edge, to see if Mitch was okay. You then took a huge sigh of relief when Mitch had surfaced and was yelling profanities towards Auston.
“What the fuck dude?! You’re such a fucking asshole!” Mitch yelled at his friend, while Auston shrugged.
“Well you were the one who decided to throw the can into the lake, I just thought I’d help you retrieve it,” Auston replied nonchalantly, while Connor just shook his head before he grabbed one of the drying beach towels off the railing, assumingly going down to meet Mitch.
“Yeah okay, Auston. The next time she tells you to jump I hope you get hurt you fucking prick,” Mitch retorted, causing you to blink twice. What did he mean?
Connor just sent you a sad look before he addressed Auston, “You can’t do that Matts, he’s drank way too much and we’re lucky he didn’t get hurt or worse,” Connor quickly scolded as he ran by.
Auston waved him off and you sighed. Of course, there had to be some drama. You pursed your lips when you felt Auston take a seat right next to you where Connor had been sitting. You both sat in silence as you watched Connor approach Mitch, while the water-logged forward emerged from the water, beer can in tow. Passing him the towel, the two headed back up towards the cottage, effectively leaving you alone with Auston.
“So, long day huh?” Auston questioned, while you snorted.
“You’re not usually one for small talk Auston,” you pointed out, while the dark-haired boy sat next you sighed.
“I’m sorry about everything that’s happened this weekend, I know I kinda made it awkward,” Auston admitted and you sent him a coy smirk.
“Oh, so Auston Matthews can admit when he’s done something wrong,”
“Hey, don’t push it Y/N” Auston retorted, causing you to chuckle lightly.
“I know, I know. I wouldn’t expect anything less,” you spoke, before you leaned back to lay on the wooden boards to stare up at the sky.
Your lips curved upwards when Auston followed suit, allowing you to fall into a comfortable silence.
“So, I’ve been thinking of that question you asked me,”
Turning your head, you shot Auston a puzzling look, causing him to laugh. “About what I’m looking for,”
You rolled your eyes, “God Auston, that was like forever ago,”
“Yeah, I know, but I took it to heart, and I just wanted you to know that,” Auston replied, while you just nodded.
“I think I want a relationship,”
Blinking twice, you sat up slightly, leaning back on your arms while you sent him a look, “you want a relationship? Auston Matthews wants to be in a monogamous relationship?”
“Hey, don’t make it sound so shocking Y/N,” Auston sighed.
“Well it is! No offence,” you then fired back, while Auston sent you an unimpressed look.
“Do you really see me as that guy?”
“You mean the one who never settles down because he’s too busy picking up girls all the time? Well, yeah, but I don’t judge you for it,” You explained, “that’s just who you were when I met you, so it never made a difference to me,”
Auston sighed, “Well, I don’t want to be that guy anymore okay? Seeing all the guys and their relationships has just really opened my eyes lately. It just seems, nice. You know? Having someone to always text and come home to. Someone you miss on the road, someone you can take to team outings and events, it just seems so much better than what I’ve been doing,”
You nodded in understanding, “just make sure she’s not crazy, okay?”
Auston just laughed, before he playfully knocked into your side, prompting you to shove him back teasingly.
“You won’t have to worry Y/N, I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised,”
You hummed sarcastically, “Let’s hope,”
You both fell back into a comfortable silence, but on the inside your brain was screaming. Your heart was hurting at the thought of some girl becoming Auston’s girlfriend. You knew it was going to happen eventually, but you hoped you’d have more time to at least move on and try to find someone new.
“So, you really like the stars huh?”
Snapping out of your thoughts, you looked back at Auston before blinking, “uh yeah, I mean, we don’t really get to see them back home because of all the light pollution so I just try to enjoy them whenever I’m here.”
Auston nodded, and his lips curved upwards slightly while you looked back up at the sky, trying to calm your racing heart and throbbing head.
“You’re beautiful, you know that?”
Whirling your head to your left, your eyes stared wide towards Auston.
What?
Auston chuckled, shaking his head a little as he slid across the wood boards to lean right up against you. “Don’t look so surprised Y/N,”
You opened your mouth to reply, but you couldn’t find the right words to say. Your cheeks were warm, and your heart was now thumping out of your chest.
“Auston,” you sighed, looking away from him and leaning away.
“What? You are Y/N, you’re beautiful,” he said again, as he leaned forward and searched for your gaze, trying to get you to look him in the eyes.
“Stop,” you murmured, sliding back and pulling away from him. As you stood, Auston turned his frame to look towards you, a look of hurt flashing across his features.
“What’s wrong?” he asked, his voice softer than before.
Shaking your head, your crossed your arms against your chest, shielding yourself. “You’re drunk Auston,”
Sighing, Auston stood from his spot, causing you to take another step back. “So?” he shrugged, “I’m not lying,”
Whining, you shook your head again and stared down at your bare feet. “You’re not allowed to say that Auston,” you whimpered out, as you watched Auston’s feet journey towards you. Looking up, you finally met his honey brown eyes, and spoke again, your voice soft with defeat, “you can’t say that.”
Auston’s warm hand met your rosy cheek, and you uttered a gasp once you realized how close he had gotten to you. “Y/N, if today hadn’t made it clear, I really do like you, I mean, I think I’ve got feelings for you,”
Your eyes widened and you stepped away again. Auston suddenly looked hurt, as you unknowingly rejected him. The thought of Auston Matthews actually having feelings for you was something out of a fantasy, a dream. You couldn’t even fathom the idea. “No, no you don’t,”
“And why the hell not?” Auston questioned, his voice low. “Why can’t I like you? Why can’t I speak the truth?”
“Because it’s not true!” you screeched, feeling your emotions reach their peak, “you’re just playing with my head again!”
You gasped when Auston’s large grasp suddenly gripped onto your forearm, effectively holding you in place. He looked angry, insulted even. “You really think I’d do that to you? Play games? Mess with your feelings?”
“It wouldn’t be the first time,” you muttered, causing Auston’s shoulders to slump. “I’ve seen you toy with other girls’ feelings, and you’ve tricked me once or twice before, so why would this be any different?”
Letting out a long sigh, Auston’s hurt expression stared towards you with sorrow, “Why is it so hard for you to let me in? Why is it so hard for you to believe me?”
Feeling your chest tighten and your tears wet your bottom eyelashes, you stared towards the man you were desperately in love with, and told him what everyone had always told you. “I’m not the type of girl you go for Auston, and everybody knows that! And because, you’re you Auston, and I’m me. I’m just not good enough for you, and I’ll never be good enough for you.” You proclaimed, as your throat grew warm and became uncomfortably scratchy.
Pulling out of his grasp, you bolted towards the staircase that would lead you back down to the dock. But just as you were about to head down, Auston’s voice caught you, “No, I’m the one who’ll never be good enough for you,”
Hesitating slightly, you bit your lip as you once again looked up towards the illuminated night sky. This couldn’t be happening. You just couldn’t wrap your head around this.
“Why?” you suddenly asked, “why do you think that?”
You could hear the vulnerability in Auston’s voice as he spoke, “Because you’re just so, pure. You’re honest, and funny, and kind, and just everything I’ve never been. People love you Y/N, they gravitate towards you because you’re just so warm. And I’m, well, you know my reputation,”
Licking your lips, you slowly looked up to meet Auston’s eyes, “which is why I’ve always shied away from you Auston, I’m nothing like those other girls,”
“But that isn’t a bad thing! I’m trying to get you to see that! I don’t care if you’re not stick thin, and I don’t care that you’re not a party girl! Y/N, you’re the type of girl I’d want to take home to my family, the type of girl I’d want to settle down with. You’re not just some fling Y/N, you’re worth so much more than that,” Auston exclaimed, as he slowly made his way back up to you.
“This is just so much Aus,” you muttered, shaking your head as you felt Auston’s warm hands fall onto both of your shoulders.
“I know it is, and trust me, this was not how I pictured this conversation going, but I like you Y/N, and I know you might find that hard to believe, but just give me a shot. Please,” Auston begged.
Gulping, you nodded slightly, “just give me the rest of the weekend, okay?”
Auston sighed, seemingly accepting your request. But before you could back away, you gasped in surprise when you felt Auston’s lips brush up against yours.
It wasn’t a passionate kiss by any means. It was light and airy, almost as if a feather had been pressed up against your lips. You knew he was being gentle on purpose, so that he wouldn’t startle you. But you also knew he was doing this to reassure you that his feelings were real.
Closing your eyes slowly, you applied light pressure back, still feeling a bit unsure. Pulling away slowly, Auston then wrapped his arms around you tight, holding you in place and he rocked the both of you back and forth.
“I just wish you could see how beautiful you are Y/N, and see how much you’re loved,” Auston whispered, before he placed his lips onto the top of your head.
Deciding not to answer, you just buried yourself into Auston’s warm embrace, silently praying this moment would never have to end.

Auston Matthews #7
Anonymous said:I have an Auston request if you're willing to take it!! Auston is known for his playboy ways and he meets a girl via mutual friends, they hook up but keep talking after and he realizes that he actually really likes her but she's hesitant cause of his reputation. (It doesn't have to be smut cause of the hook up, you could probably start after they hook up you wanted)
Anonymous said:Auston Matthews imagine where the reader won't date him bc of his reputation but he gets drunk and she sees a different side of him??
A/N: oh how i love being able to get two requests done in one imagine :)) also i 100% got inspired by @jveseys auston imagine that i had recently reblogged, so you can thank her for getting my ass in gear and actually writing an auston imagine lol
Word Count: 2,759
Tumblr media
"Are you really going to sit here and pretend you didn't sleep with that hot piece of ass?" Your friend joked in a low voice. It took everything inside of you to not turn and smack her hard on the arm for her comment. Instead you settled for rolling your eyes and taking a sip through the straw of your vodka drink.
It had been only two whole weeks since you and Auston had hooked up. Fourteen whole days of you replaying the night in your mind. From the way he muffled his moans to his tightening grip on your hips as the sex came to an end - like literally. Best orgasm ever. Auston mentioned something along those lines too.
That night wasn't really supposed to end that way, you knew his reputation, he was a player and he knew it too. Hence the 'sexy' look he was giving some blonde at the bar. But one thing lead to another, you got kinda desperate after seeing an old hook up of yours with his new girl and after some petty grinding against Auston you ended up being him back to your place. Flash forward to tonight, two painful week later, and Kappy was still dragging you out to come out with his teammates.
"Would you shut up," you hissed to your friend as she eyed up Auston, "it was a one time thing," you grumbled under your breath as the blonde Auston was amusing threw her head back with laughter.
"As if," you friend huffed and finished off her drink quickly, "I know you've been getting yourself off to memories of that one time," she said.
"Shut up," you narrowed your eyes at her. She simply shrugged and gave you an innocent look before turning to the table beside us and throwing an arm around Willy - her favourite person during our nights out. She was still hoping for that one night with him.
As she wandered off with Willy to the bar and Annika and Kappy were in their own world beside you, you stared down at your phone. Opening snapchat, you noticed your streak with Auston at the little timer beside it. Your heart just about jumped out of your chest - stupid, you know. After holding back from rolling your eyes at yourself, you flipped the camera to yourself and somehow got the dog filter to show up with the help of flash and gave the camera a toothy grin before sending it to Auston.
After watching a couple snapchat stories, including Kappy's of him drunkly taking a video of him and Annika, you went off to Instagram. Despite the time, your selfie you had posted only half an hour ago was blowing up. Cue the confidence boost in three, two, one - refreshing the page you were ambushed with likes and comments. You smiled but it quickly fell as Auston's snapchat name popped up on top of your screen.
Tapping it, you opened the app and then the snap. For ten seconds, you were blessed with a dog selfie from that hot piece of ass - the caption across read 'vodka slim right?', before you could respond to tell him yes he was standing in front of you.
"Thanks," you said with a smile as he set your drink down in front of you.
"You're welcome," Auston nodded and took the seat across from you.
"Where's the blonde go?" You asked, the question slipping from your mouth before you could even think twice. Past hook ups didn't ask about present or future hook ups, it was like an unspoken rule.
Auston's lips turned up into a smirk - that same smirk you were familiar with from when he had your practically begging two weeks ago. It was a weak moment, but it worked out in your favour. "I'm sure she'll be back, I'll be sure to let her know one of us is interested in her," he joked.
Rolling your eyes, you sipped your drink before speaking up, "you looked pretty interested a minute ago over there," you said while pointing behind him where he once stood with the blonde.
"Guess I'm a pretty good actor," he shrugged and took a long swig of his beer.
"Guess so," you muttered under your breath.
It was only a single second of silence between you two. One you spent stirring the ice in your drink while Auston leaned forward towards you. Peering up through your lashes, you took in his smile - it was no longer than 'sexy' smirk but instead a boyish smile you were lucky enough to catch every now and then.
"Bet you'd rather be home in bed watching some crap TV show, huh?" He asked.
"One Tree Hill is not a crap TV show," you replied.
"Sure," Auston teased. You reached across the table and smacked his arm lightly. Of course you noticed how good his arms looks in the tight black tshirt he was wearing tonight.
You looked across the table and narrowed your eyes at the boy sitting across from you. He eyes were glassy, his cheeks just a little rosy and he flashed that boyish smile yet again. Auston was drunk. You recalled earlier, upon arriving at the club, when Willy slapped down his cash and bought him and Auston shots. Lots of shots. Now, here we sat with Auston drunk and you only slightly buzzed. You kinda liked it, you thought as a smirk curled up your lips.
"You're drunk," you stated while smiling at Auston. He shrugged in response.
"And you're not," he countered back. And of course, you shrugged back at him. "Drink up, get to my level, Y/N," he chuckled while pushing your drink towards you.
"I don't know if you can handle me at your level," you joked but took a sip of your drink anyways.
"I'm sure I can handle anything you throw my way," Auston said.
You inhaled and brought the glass up to your lips again, peering at Auston over the rim as his smile turned into a smirk. There were those painfully hot flashbacks yet again. Snapping out of it, you finished off the drink and placed it onto the table.
"Come, I'll buy you another," he said while standing up and finishing off his own drink.
"You brought the last one to me?" You said in a questioning tone while furrowing your brows together.
"Yeah, and that seat is forming to your ass," Auston said. Your mouth gaped open in shock as he grabbed your hand and pulled you out of the chair you had grown comfortable in. Auston chuckled, "I mean, it's a nice ass and all-"
You cut him off by smacking him on the chest and letting go of his hand to do so. Then you lead the way, purposely giving him a chance to see how nice your ass really was. Once you got to the bar, Auston was two steps behind you and waved over the bartender.
Auston ordered two vodka slims, causing you to think they were both for you but as they were placed in front of you two he took one for himself. You leaned back against the bar and smiled before sipping from the straw. Auston finished paying for the drink and looked over your way, pulling his brows together at the devious smile on your lips.
"What?"
"Beer before liquor, never been sicker," you sung out the rhyme.
Auston rolled his eyes, "that's a myth," he said.
"Sure, tell me that when your throwing up tomorrow," you teased.
"I will," he smirked and then drank more of his vodka.
All of a sudden the music remixed into your favourite song at the moment. You sipped more of your drink and just about spit it out as the song played throughout the club. Putting down your drink, you pointed up to the sky as if the speakers were right there.
"This is my favourite song," you stated excitedly.
Auston chuckled and then smiled, he put down his drink as well and then lazily grabbed onto your hand. "Then let's go dance," he said before leading the way.
"Wait, really, Auston," you groaned out as he made way through the crowd to get to the dance floor.
Auston completely ignored your grumbling and groans of him dragging you out to dance with him. It wasn't that you didn't want to dance, it was the fact you were somehow being sucked into his playboy ways yet again. You didn't want to get involved with a guy like him. Sure, he was sweet and you kinda liked his smile, but you knew his rep way too well. And that just wasn't really your type - okay, maybe it was some nights.
You swayed your hips to the music and danced along as the beat of the song picked up. Once the course took over and the DJ mixed it up some more you found yourself closing your eyes and twirling around on the dance floor as the music took over. Or maybe it was the liquor.
With your eyes closed and the rhythm of the music moving your hips you weren't even surprised as you felt those familiar rough hands find your hips. This was why you were complaining as Auston took you to the dance floor. You couldn't help but grind back onto him, which caused his fingertips to dig into the exposed skin of your mid drift.
"Mierda(Shit)," Auston grumbled from behind you. You had to take a deep breath at the sound of another language rolling off that tongue of his.
With a short sigh, you turned around and let your hands fall down his chest as your eyes locked on his, "no hablo español(I don't speak Spanish)," you said with a smirk. It was all you remembered from those high school classes.
"Gracias a Dios o estaría muerto(thank god or I'd be dead)," Auston replied. With his lips twitching up into that lovely smirk, you knew whatever he had said was a smartass comment.
"Look, you're hot, speaking Spanish and all," you paused and leaned more into him now, "but don't make any smartass comments to me, Matthews," you said.
Auston kept that smirk on his face, "bien," he said.
"I need another drink," you muttered loudly just as your favourite song was dying out into another top 40 mix.
Auston was following behind you, or so you thought. As you turned to look over your shoulder once you got to the bar you saw that the blonde had found him again. You stared and watched as Auston chuckled and then that 'sexy' look in his eyes flashed on again. Suddenly his eyes flickered off the blonde and found you, he raised a brow and before you could see anything else you turned back to the bar.
"Y/N," your friend grinned while she and Willy came up beside you.
"Hey, you guys seem a lot more drunk than when I last saw you," you stated. She giggled while Willy called over the bartender.
"I think Y/N needs some shots," your friend said, "Willy get her some shots," she ordered him while her hand toyed with his belt buckle. Classic.
But Willy listened and ordered you two tequila shots, despite you trying to decline them. Just as you were about to lift the first one to your lips, Auston appeared beside you - without the blonde, thankfully.
"Willy buying another round?" Auston asked.
"For me," you mumbled before downing the shot and then grabbing the second one and pouring it down your throat too. With the burn and disgust in your mouth, you grabbed a few sliced limes and began to suck on them, one by one till they were done.
Once you were finished and feeling a bit better - also feeling much more drunk immediately- you looked at Auston. He was watching you, a smile on his lips and a devious look in his eyes. One thing was for certain, this hot piece of ass wasn't Auston's tonight. You waved over the bartender and got yourself another drink to sip on before finding you way back to the table.
And those two tequila shots were how you ended up being practically carried to your apartment by none other than Spanish-speaking-hot-piece-of-ass-NHL-playboy, Auston Matthews. A roar of cheers played in your head at your thoughts. Then you were actually cheering as Auston opened your front door. You kicked off your shoes and flung yourself across the room onto the couch.
"Graceful," Auston chuckled.
"Oh shut it," you muttered at him.
"Oh you're grumpy now huh?" He teased while taking a seat beside you. You attempted to sit up but instead kept slouching. "Just a moment ago you were serenading me in the cab," he stated.
"Don't give me that stupid boyish smile," you said while pointing to his face where that perfect smile was. "I won't fall for it, it won't work on me," you added.
"¿Estás seguro?(You sure?)," Auston somehow managed to make the two Spanish words to sound so sexy you swore you needed to go change your panties right then and there.
You closed your eyes and let out a groan, long and whiny. Auston laughed at you but he stopped as you sat up and cocked a brow at him. As your eyes gazed into his, you firstly felt dizzy, but then you felt that lusting you had been feeling all these past fourteen days. Your heavy eyelids caused you to break the gaze and instead take in his body instead. Everything inside of you was telling you to jump onto him and do it all over again. But then there was that settle reminder of who you didn't want to get involved with.
"I'm tired," you blurted out.
Without a response from Auston you got up and walked down the hall to your open bedroom door. All over the floor was the tornado of getting ready, which you easily ignored and instead took off your pants and shirt before bending down to pick up a super oversized band tee. Then you were laying on top of some clothes and your comforter as the world started to spin.
In your haze of being drunk, you heard someone enter your room - obviously that someone was Auston. You hoped he'd get the message and sleep on the couch or maybe even cab home. But instead you heard some ruffling around before the bed dipped down beside you. Next came the cool feeling of one of your makeup wipes.
"Thank you," you mumbled as Auston wiped off your makeup.
"You're welcome," he said as your lips turned up into a smile. This was by far the sweetest thing any guy ever had done for you.
There was silence that fell over the room as he continued to wipe your face free of makeup. Then he tossed the wipe into the garbage and as he sat there in the silence you opened your eyes. Auston sat there, staring at you. A flutter of butterflies filled your stomach and you just kept on smiling.
"You know how I said I was a good actor earlier?" Auston asked.
"Yeah,"
"I've been acting around you mostly," he stated, suddenly confusing you now. Auston licked his lips and kept his eyes on you. "I've been acting as if I don't like you more than a friend, like as if even seeing your face in a snapchat for 10 seconds doesn't make me smile," Auston said in a soft voice.
Every playboy image you had of Auston washed away then. With his words you sobered up a little and grabbed ahold of his hand. You took a deep breath.
"I feel the same way," you admitted. The first time out loud and to yourself in all honesty. Auston's boyish smile came back as he laced your fingers together. "Stay the night," you said.
"Por supuesto bebé(of course baby)," Auston said. Then he stood up and turned off your lights, you heard him struggle to get out of his jeans - causing you to giggle and make fun of him - then he was sliding you under the covers and not hesitating to pull you into his warm body.
Finally your night finished the most perfect of ways. A soft, gentle, simple kiss from Auston's lips right on your temple. You smiled and shut your eyes, feeling content with how your night had surprisingly gone.

Daily Rikara Ramblings
Aww, Gauri looks so qyut. 😍😍😍😍
Aww, nah, my bby so sadddd. 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
Richa’s yapping is annoying me. Like gurl, stfu for a sec. Mausam ka taqazza kuch hai bhi ya nahi?
“bhagwan na kare hamare jaise kismet kisi ki bhi hi Richa!”
Poor Gauri. 😭😭😭😭😭
Srsly though, Omkie is garbage and doesn’t deserve our chirriya. 🗑️🗑️🗑️🗑️🗑️🗑️
That horrible, no good, terrible flashback is back ugh 😭
“Karwa chauth ka vrat rakha hai humne, woh bhi us pati k liye jo hamein patni tak nahi manta”
Stop feeling bad cause of that human pile of trash Gauri. He ain’t worth your tears or your fast. Throw him in the dustbin where he belongs 🚮🚮🚮🚮🚮
Oho, Omkie ki OTT entry. 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
Lol address bhi tadi dikha k pooch raha hai 😂😂
The voiceover is so weird  🤔🤔
Okay, but how bitch? Like I really want to know how you’re going to make it up to her. 😔😔😔😔😔
Awww, Queenie is sajhing dhajing. 😍😍
With tears in her eyes! 😭😭😭
She’s looking real pretty though. 😍😍😍
She took a bindi from what looked like a packet of white bindis and then put on a black one. 😐😐😐😐😐
Omkara ko pagdi banani aati hai? Mad Skills brah!! 👏👏👏👏
Why does Gauri have the same jewellery and those ropes thingies as Annika, and everyone else? Like, do people really prepare for karwachauth months in advance?
Lol, Shivika be so qt! 😍😍😍
Jhanvi and Gauri’s suit looks the same. But Jhanvi’s hotter? God, Jhanvi’s such a milf tbh 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤
Awww, Shivaay stole a kiss from Annika!! So QYUT!! 💝💞💞💞💞💞
Okay, but how are women even able to walk and talk and do all humanly things during karwa chauth? Like if I miss a single meal toh I end up feeling like Frankenstein’s monster. Kuch bhi khane ko chalega.
Oh man, Gauri recalling Omkara’s words makes me cry. 💔💔💔💔💔
Aagayi iski useless maa. I swear she’s the most useless character in IBverse. Is se bekar aur kaun hoga. 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
Ugh, he doesn’t deserve your love Gauri. Srsly, fuck him. 😡😡😡😡😡😡
God, why do these people just walk in andhera? Ab toh phones me bhi torches hoti hai. 🙄
Okay, if someone pulled that trick on me, I’d slap first and ask questions later.
Ngl, it is adorbs though. But I don’t like no surprises.
Yeh tanya bhi psycho lagti hai.
These rassis on Annika’s dress are annoying me. Like why?
Why doesn’t someone tell Annika who Shakira is already lmao.
Is it just me, or is Shivaay being extra adorable these days? Man, he be so QYUT!!!! 😍😍😍😍😍😍
Gauri’s mom has some weird ideas of Shubh and ashubh. 🙄🙄🙄🙄
Lmao, this is so cliched! 😂😂😂😂😂
Lol aa gaya Sardar Singh Oberoi. 😂😂
Dafuq, why is the editing all over the place in this show? 😓😓😓
Okay, not digging these channi wale parallels for RuVya too. Rudy doesn’t even deserve to lick Bhavya’s feet. Omkara doesn’t either, but god, at least there were no malicious life ruining actions there. At least not intentionally.
Also, dafuq kinda name is “Stilist”? Ew. No one karchaoed their brains here apparently!
Guys wtf, all the other couples are married! RuVya ain’t married, neither should they be. Like ever. Rudy’s the worstttt!! 😡😡😡😡😡😡
OMFG! Oh God. That role reversal thing I wanted is happening but with Shivika!!! Omg so qyyyuttttt. Now, I know why my friend said Shivika scenes were the best today lol. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
But tell me Omkara ne vrat rakkha hai ya nahi? 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Shivika’s cuteness is making me want to ship them over Rikara. Rikara bas angst hi angst hai. Ugh.
Don’t kill me pls, but I really don’t like “O, Jaana”. Rikara’s song is pretty much half the reason I ship them tbh. Such a soulful beautiful song. 💞💞💞💞💞
“Mujhe lagta hai Gauri mujhse bahut naraz hai, ise manana aasaan nahi hoga, muje mehnat karni padegi”
No shit, Sherlock. Like he really thinks she’s just naraz. Matlab hadd ho gayi. Koi normal person hota toh they’d have drowned in guilt thinking the wronged party hates them, but wow MahanKara still thinks she’s just naraz. Wow 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Like you didn’t spill coffee on her fave shirt Omkara, you basically called her a characterless adultress, and you still think woh bas naraaz hai? If Queenie didn’t love you so much toh she’d be hating your guts right baout now. 😡😡😡😡😡😡
Also, Sardar Singh Oberoi isn’t looking that bad. BUT HE STILL LOOKS LIKE OMKARA. Gauri would really have to be an oblivious idiot not to recognize him. Also, it’s so improbable, cause Gauri’s a legit chantomai, who fooled people into thinking she was a boy for months on end. She observes people and knows what makes them tick. So it wouldn’t make any sense if she failed to recognize her (badly in disguise) husband of 8 months. Pls God, I’m begging you, don’t pull RNBDJ shit on me plsss. If it made me hate fuckin srk and made me quit watching his movies, then I dunno if I’ll still be able to love Gauri anymore. 😧😧😧
Oh my god, yeh punjabi me bhi shuru ho gaya.😲😲😲 Bas kar yar, no one wants to hear your ghatiya shayri. Least of all Gauri. 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
Gauri’s like Dafuq!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂
“Dilpreet Singh” lmaowtf. Omkara you’re so lame, I’m dying. 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Omg call out to my faveeeee, Diljit Dosanjh 💓💓💓💓
Gauri’s like yeh kaun pagal hai. 😂😂😂😂
Lol, 2 mins bhi nahi hue and Gauri already recognized his voice. Yeah, SardarKara ain’t gon last long, thank fuck. 😌😌😌😌
He’s literally recounting all famous Sikh singers and being like meri awaaz sabse milti hai. wtf 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
“multipurpose aawaz”
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Gauri’s like yeh kaunse pagal khane se bhaag aya hai. Bua maa ne toh nahi bheja hai apne mental hospital se badla lene k liye? 😂😂😂😂😂
Oh my god, phir se iska main main shuru ho gaya. 🙄🙄🙄
Like, sardar ban ne k siva aur koi plan nahi tha? Such an amateur! 🙄🙄🙄
Oh god yeh mithai dekh k mujhe bhi bhook lag gayi and I don’t even like sweets. Ugh, I’m hungry af. 🤤🤤🤤🤤
Shivika’s cuteness is Goals though! 💓 💝💝💝
Wtf, is tanya going to commit suicide? Dafuq. Yeh Oberoi pagal khane me rehke ye bhi pagal ho gayi hai kya? Bitch, no guy is worth your life. Least of all this chooza.
Literally not interested in this bakwas though. But I’m guessing Abhay is the one who sent gundas to Gauri’s house? Lmao. Kya khichdi pak rahi hai? 😂😂😂😂😂
Aaj ka epi was legit bakwas besides Shivika cuteness. I hope we get some better shit tomo. 🙄🙄

adventures in washington day eins
we got up early-ish and went to school. it was a long bus ride to D.C. and i mostly listened to music the whole way, as did annika. once we got there, we had lunch on the steps of the lincoln memorial. i sat with annika and julian and i also walked around with both of them while they took pictures. after lunch we got a white house tour (!!!) and we had to go through TONS of security. a really funny moment that happened was that this kid seamus was like he went too forward in the line and. secret service guy chewed him out like "young man this isn't disney world this is the white house". me and annika and julian - who were on either side of me in line - laughed at that. i think this is gonna become a trip meme tbh. the white house was honestly pretty underwhelming...the rooms were small and kinda boring and we didn't see very much. at the end we saw this adorable squirrel that was like white and it deadass posed for people's cameras. also another thing that happened - julian was gonna talk to me except i had walked somewhere else because, you know, i wasn't gonna stay in the same place for very long unless i was in conversation - and he thought my friends libby and sabine were me and it was weird??? and he tried to explain it to me in english but i like didn't understand and then he refused to say it in german so yeah eventually he got his point across but it was awkward. then we checked into our youth hostel and got SIX WHOLE HOURS of free time. i ended up in a big group with a shit ton of germans - leander, melvin, philipp, annika, laura, caro, and ve - and one other american, harry. it was interesting because i can keep up with and speak german with the germans while every time they talked to harry they translated stuff in english. there was one point where we had ice cream and ve like complimented me on my german and it felt really nice???? i'm shit at compliments but ya it felt good. we walked around trying to find food for a g e s because caro wanted to find a supermarket and then harry's phone died and the germans didn't have wifi so we had to use my phone for like 12 different things and we walked like everywhere so eventually annika and i just gave up and got snack food from a subway next to the hostel and the others ended up going to a five guys anyway so what even was the point. i read my book alone in the room for a while while annika napped and then we went to the second floor of the hostel and some f the americans were messing around in the kitchen and then annika and ve and i watched eddie and julian play pool (i'll explain why he keeps being mentioned in a sec) and then we went downstairs and the boys showed up later and turns out julian is helt good at the bottle flipping thing it's RIDICULOUS and then we went to look at all the monuments. it was night so they all looked rlly cool and i was talking to julian at the washington one and this guy justus just walks up and starts taking pictures and i told him to leave and he asked if he was interrupting my romance?? so i yelled at him and told him i liked girls (which is true without me actually lying abt my sexuality) and he said "now i know i'm safe" he's a good kid just doesn't know social rules. anyway so then we went to the mlk memorial and we chatted by the water for the sum total of about five seconds and then he started taking pictures - this kid. like his insta is just his travel photos i swear. anyways then we went to the jefferson memorial and i took some pictures for him bc he has this shitty samsung phone and his phone camera is kinda shit and we talked about like differences in american vs german culture ig and it was nice until i said smth abt not liking tea and this german girl vicky starter talking to me abt tea and it was a little awkward but she's easy to talk to i guess. and THEN we went to the ww2 memorial and julian basically followed me around the whole time and when i asked why he said bc in the easiest to follow around which was nice i GUESS??? and then i was like on the verge of panicking later so i kinda removed myself. when we got back to the hostel marina libby danielle and i got to talking abt all sorts of random shit - family and gossip and school and our germans and last year - and libby said that julian probably likes me and/or is trying really hard to be my friend which is REALLY flattering bc i N E VE R get hardcore attention from irl people ever, platonic or romantic, and he's like a cool guy so it's like all ok whatever he's doing? and so we talked abt all sorts of other shit and somehow now it's 1:33 am and i'm writing and that's why this shit is so incoherent sorry

The Power Of Voodoo
Annika is pronounced On-ah-kah.
First fanfic with my OCS Dawn and Annika! They’re my favorites!
°°°°°°°°∆°°°°°°°°°
Lily and her friends walked down a hallway in the dungeon’s to head to potions class. The hallway was quiet as the four ladies made there way to the class room.
“Have you run into Potter today Lily?” Marlene asked.
“Not today, thank god!” Lily laughed.
“The poor boy tries so hard.” Annika smiled, adjusting her Canary yellow and black scarf to protect her from the draft that whooshed passed them.
“He’s gotta have to try a lot harder to meet Lily’s standards.” Dorcas nudged Annika.
“Hey! I deserve nothing more than the best! There’s nothing wrong with high standards!” Lily retorted.
“I wish I had half of your confidence Lily.” Annika smiled.
At the very end of the long hallway Sirius Black and James Potter listen to the indistinct chatter. Confident in his pranking skills James opted to leave the Marauder’s Map in the dorm. They were 100% sure the voices came from a laughing group of slytherins.
“Ready Pads?” James Asked.
“Ready Prongs.”
The girls laughed amongst themselves.
One of the last was very distinct and familiar to James.
“Oh shit! Lily!”
But it was too late.
After a few steps there was a loud click.
“What the-?” Marlene was cut off by an explosion of sludge that fell from the ceiling, covering half the hallway and the four students.
Sirius and James quickly made their way back to the Gryffindor common room. They jump to the portrait Breathing heavily
“Oh no! Oh no!” James begin to hyperventilate.
“What’s wrong guys?” Remus asked standing up to help James.
“We messed up Moony!” James said.
“We messed up bad!”
“How the hell could you mess up?! What did you do?!” Remus asked.
The portrait opened quickly and in came Lily, Marlene, Dorcas  and Annika, covered in black sludge.
“Potter!” Lily yelled.
The mushy haired boy ran up the stairs to the boys dormitory and put his best locking spells on the door.
“I take it we’ve discovered one culprit.” Marlene said angrily trying to comb some of the sludge out with her fingers.
“And which of you lot helped him?!” Lily demanded.
“I know you’re upset and we’re sorry.” Sirius very cautiously approached the girls.
Annika appeared to be holding back tears.
“What the hell were you trying to achieve?!” Dorcas yelled.
“It wasn’t meant for you it was meant for someone else. You just happen to be at the wrong place at the wrong time.” Sirius spoke calmly, hands held up in surrender.
“Oh, so now it’s our fault?!” Lily said.
“Yes! No! Shit!” Sirius brow furrowed in his confusion and panic.
Annika begin to sniffle. Her beautiful black braids with yellow ribbons weaved into them recovered in the nasty substance.
“My mother braids these for me you know.” She sniffed quietly.
“Once a year we sit down and she braids my hair. She tells me stories we talk and laugh.” Her voice was sad and quiet.
“She can’t use magic you know she does it the Muggle way.” Tears fell down her beautiful ebony face.
Marlene and Dorcas walked over attempted to console her.
“It’s okay Annika.” Marlene reassured.
“We can clean it up; it’ll be fine.”
“Bu-but, the ribbon’s all stained and crusty.” She stuttered.
“We’ll fix it Annika. Don’t worry.” Dorcas gave her a small smile as she padded the sad girl on the back.
The girls went to their room to clean up.
For the rest of the day Sirius and James thought of ways to try to make it up to them but none of their ideas seemed good enough.
A few weeks had passed after the incedint and the boys still had no clue what to do. Apologizing profusely simply got angry glares from Marlene, Dorcas, and Lily. Annika responded a little better with a ‘It’s okay. Accidents happen.’ Yet the boys were still very sorry.
One day in the courtyard the girls were sitting on the concrete benches in the middle. Annika walked up to the group with a box.
“I got you guys something! I hope you like them!” She said.
 "Annika! How sweet!“ Lily cheered.
Annika sat down the box and pulled out three felt dolls. Each doll looked like one of her friends.
"Oh wow! This is super neat!” Dorcas examined her brown haired doll.
“They’re Voodoo dolls!” Annika said.
“They’re not bound to you yet, but if you twist a straned of your hair into the stitching, it will be. If you take good care of her, dress her, talk to her, and treat her well, it will bring you good luck!”
“Where’s yours?” Lily asked
Annika shrugged.
“It’s bad luck to make one of yourself… I have always wanted one but I was afraid I wouldn’t take care of it well enough. Anyway! I made these too!”
She reached into the box again and pulled out some little clothes.
The girls talked and laughed while playing with their dolls when the Marauders made their way to the court yard.
“What cha got der Evans?” James asked, trying to hide his fear.
He’d knew he fucked up and was now preparing for the consequences.
“Won’t you like to know Potter!” She snubbed.
Marlene and Dorcas shot the boys dirty looks.
“Those are those voodoo doll things!” Peter realized.
“A who what?” Sirius asked.
“You bound them to a person. After that what you do to the doll affects the person physical.” Remus explained.
“It doesn’t really work… Does it?” James asked.
“We haven’t bound them yet!” Dorcas said to the girls.
They all three gently pulled a strand of hair and wove it into the stitching of the dolls.
Sirius flicked his wand at the dolls.
Sirius scoffed. “They don’t have any magic. They can’t do anything."
"They won’t Pads. Voodoo is a muggle practice.”
Dorcas pinched the arm of Marlene’s blonde doll while Marlene was turned to the boys.
“Ow!”
Dorcas looked at her in shock.
“Sorry Mar.” Dorcas said.
“Wait! They work!” Marlene smiled at Dorcas.
“No way!” James reached for Lily’s.
“Let me see.” James’s curiosity over shadowed his fear for a moment.
There had to be magic in these things.
“Hands off Potter! Get your own!”
James jumped back and lowered his head.
Annika gave a sickeningly sweet smile.
“Funny you would say that Lily.”
She reached into the box once again, pulling out four more dolls. These, however, had quite an accurate likeness to each Marauder.
“I made these too! I figured I’d keep them with me. Don’t worry though! I’ll take good care of them.”
Peter scoffed, trying to hide his nervousness.
“But they’re not bound to us! We’re sure as hell not going to- Ow!”
Lily, Marlene, and Dorcas snuck behind the four boys and pulled a hair from there heads. Sirius quickly swiped at Marlene’s hair.
“Ha! Like I’m gonna just let you pluck my gorgeous locks!” He smiled triumphantly until he felt a small pinch on his shoulder.
“Don’t have to Black! You shed like a dog!” Dorcas waved the strand of hair at him.
“Damn it!” He quietly cursed.
The girls carefully wond the hairs into the stitching of each doll, leaving to boys rubbing their heads.
“They’ll be safe with me. I don’t believe in using them for evil.” She smiled at the dolls and placed them back in the box and closed the lid.
A shiver shot through the boys’ spines, as if they were now surrounded by darkness.
“Please tell me you felt that.” Sirius whispered in James’s ear.
“'Fraid so mate… 'Fraid so.” They stared at the box with worried looks.
What have we done now.
“There’s no way those things really work! They have no magic! Like at all!” James paced the dorm.
Peter took a bite of his nails, a strange habit he tried to quit. As the nail bent between his teeth he pulled away and quickly stopped himself.
“Maybe we should just lay low. They obviously do something. We all felt that chill right?” Remus suggested. He was just as worried as they were.
Peter and Sirius agreed.
“No!” James protested. “There is no way she has that kind of power over us! Besides, this kind of thing is very bad. No way sweet little Annika Quirke would risk detention.” James pointed out.
“No way someone will ever control me like that!”
“And yet you plan to marry Evans.” Sirius quipped, not looking up from his ancient runes text book.
The rest of the boys laughed as James glared at them.
“Pads! How can you study at a time like this?!” James yelled.
Sirius shrugged. “I don’t know. I just feel the need to.” He turned the page and kept reading.
“Well I’m gonna fix this.” James nabbed his silvery cloak from his trunk. “Who’s with me!”
There was a long silence.
Peter eventually sighed and raised his hand.
“Alright! That Cajun princess is going down!”
“Haitian.” Remus said quietly. “She’s Haitian not Cajun.”
“Same difference.” James waved.
“Nope. Two totally different places.” Remus added.
“That’s actually kinda racist Prongs. How would you like it if some said India and… What’s similar to India?” Peter asked Remus.
Remus shrugged.
“Fine! Were ever she’s from, little miss perfect is gonna get it!” James said, still mad.
“And I’m not a racist… I’m just angry OK…” He mumbled.
Late that night Peter and James snuck through the halls of the castle to the Hufflepuff common room entrance.Peter hand to shush James the whole time, as he continued to whisper examples of how he’s not a racist.
Once there, James took off the cloak and his it away. No one in the school knew about the cloak except for the Marauders. They intended to keep it that way.
Earlier, James had convinced a fourth year, Joan Marcus, to help them by taking Peter and James’s dolls from Annika’s room. Joan had a crush on Peter and James promised to convince Peter to tutor her so she could just be around him.
The portrait swung open and Joan reached out, handing a small satchel to James.
James thanked her and she smiled at Peter.
“Tomorrow? At two in the library? Is that OK with you?” She whispered.
“Huh?” James nudged Peter’s said with his elbow.
“Ow! Uh, yeah, sure.” He whispered rubbing his sighed.
She winked at him as she shut the portrait.
Thank god the man was a heavy sleeper.
The two took the dolls and snuck back to their room.
“What was that about?!” Peter whispered angrily. “Did you whore me out?!”
With a mischievous smile James mimed 'a little’.
In the Gryffindor common room, students at playing wizard chess and doing homework. Due to it being the weekend the students seem to have quite a lot of free time. Most of them opting to study in the quiet library, Dorcas, Lily, and the Marauders we’re the only ones occupying the common room at that time.
The fat lady’s portrait slowly opened and an angry Annika stomped in, followed by Marlene who was holding Annika’s doll box.
“Where are they?!” Annika growled.
Everyone looked up at her in shock, some of them jumping from fright.
“Do you even realize how messed up it is to have these?! It’s kinda creepy.” James stood up and walked up to her.
“Wait the?! Did you grab mine too?! I told you to leave mine out of this!” Peter yelled.
James and Annika ignored him.
“You don’t know what you’re messing with! I’m using them to help you!” She said to James.
“Pffft! And how would that be?!” James rolled his eyes.
Annika unclenched her fists and took on a calm expression.
“Peter,” she started. “How’s your nail biting habit?”
Peter stared in shock.
“Better. Every time I bite then I feel like I get a mouth full of… Cotton.”
James froze.
“Yours has on tiny gloves…” He turned to Peter, his tone lower know.
“How’s your studies Sirius?” She asked.
He sat in silence for a moment.
“I feel more motivated to study I guess so… Good.”
“Yours was sitting on my open ancient runes text book. That was the one you struggled with right?”
Sirius nodded wide eyed from his spot on the couch, next to Remus.
“See!” She looked to James. “I’m helping! I would never use voodoo for bad.”
James turned to her, his face stern.
“It’s still not OK! It’s against our will! That’s bad on it’s own!”
She look at him with a calm face. Her and Marlene sat on the carpet in the middle of the roomMarlene open the box and pulled out Sirius’s Annika reached in and pulled out Remus’s. The two girls smiled at one another  and begin to use the dolls as puppets.
“Oh Sirius I really wish that James would listen to her.” Annika gave Remus a very low voice. “He obviously has no idea what he’s messing with.”
“Yes! Of course Remus.” Marlene used a very high pitched voice. “But you know James never listens to reason.”
Remus chuckled at the voices.
“I don’t sound like that!” Sirius protested, but still chuckling a little.
“She’s not causing any harm.” Doll Remus continued.
“Yes perhaps she could use her powers to help with something I’ve been struggling with.” Doll Sirius turned away dramatically.
“What are you saying Sirius?” Doll Remus took a step forward in concern.
“Isn’t it obvious! I’m in love with you!” Doll Sirius’s arms flailed as he turned back to Remus.
Laughter came from everyone except James, who was trying to keep a straight face.
“What the hell?!” Sirius laughed.
Annika took a moment to caught her breath before she continued.
“Sirius… I… Didn’t know…”
“Can’t you see! The way I’m shy around you. I actually listen to you. When you’re not looking… I can’t help but stare.”
Sirius nervously laughed along with the others.
“Sirius… I love you too…”
“Kiss me you fool!”
Laughter erupted through the room until Annika pushed Doll Remus’s face against Sirius’s doll’s.
Annika turned and looked at Remus with an evil smile.
The laughter died down as Remus seemed to be pushed to the back of the couch. His hand flew to his chest as if the wind had been knock out of him.
“You OK mate?” Sirius asked
Remus turned, breathless, lips parted, glazing lovingly into the other’s eyes. Without warning, he melded their lips together, grabbing Sirius’s face and pulling him on top of him. Sirius’s eyes flew open in shock, his open mouth being ravished by Remus’s lips.
The whole room went silent.
Marlene laughed and twisted the doll’s head to make it look like they were snogging.
At that, Sirius began to kiss back, with the addition of his tongue, and straddled Remus probably. Annika’s jaw dropped at the sight.
Sirius ran his hand down Remus’s body and squeezed his thigh.
“OK. That’s enough of that.” She said laughing.
They pulled the dolls away.
The boys broke up, both screaming with fear. They were both breathing heavy and quickly backed away from each other.
“Prongs…” Remus turned, eyes wide.
“Give her the damn dolls!”
James narrowed his eyes and rubbed his chin as he thought.
“Hmmmmm… I still don’t buy it.”
“We could go again.” Using a high squeaky voice Marlene held Sirius’s doll in front of her face.
“No!” Sirius and Remus yelled in unison.
James groaned. “Fine! I’ll get the dumb dolls.” He went upstairs to retrieve them.
Sirius and Remus looked at one another, faces beet red.
“I’m going to the library.” Remus quickly packed up and started for the exit.
“I’m going… Anywhere else.” With that Sirius left.
The boys left an awkward silence in their wake.
 °°°°°°°°∆°°°°°°°°
“There as got to be something here on Voodoo.” James said. He went to the library with Remus, Sirius, and Peter the day after the incident in the common room.
“Or you know, drop it.” Remus suggested angrily.
“I would prefer not being forced to snog Pads again.”
“Yeah.” Sirius piped up nervously.
James rolled his eyes and made his was to the library’s box of call cards.
“Accio voodoo!” he waved is wand at the box.
Three cards popped up, looking at each other questioningly and then to James.
“All of you please.” He held out his hand and the three cards stacked themselves on top of one another.
“Moony, Pads, you take Voodoo Shamanism and other frauds. Peter you get Who do Voodoo. I’ll take Voodoo: Muggle’s Magic.” James passed out the cards to his friends.
“All of these seem rather objective don’t you think?” Remus looked at Sirius questioningly.
Sirius Shrugged in response.
All of the books were easily found except for James's Voodoo: Muggle’s Magic. He scanned the shelve up and down for the book.
Nothing.
James pulls the call card out of his robes. “Where are you?”
The card slid from his hand and zoomed to the back of the library, spinning above the head of the student reading the book.
Dawn Bashir was taking notes from the book. She was so engrossed in its content, she didn’t notice the card spinning above her.
James knew Dawn from quidditch. She was Raven Claw’s beater. She had dark brown hair that fell to her shoulders. Her pale lavender eyes complimenting her pale skin. Dawn had always been shy but smart, common traits for a Raven Claw. However, she seemed to be a totally different person on the quidditch pitch.
She was out going, funny, and great to be around when in her element. Any other time however, she was as ordinary as they come.
“Hey Dawn!” James greeted with a smile.
She looked up at him startled. A faint smile grew on her face.
“Hey James.” Looked back down at her book after greeting him.
“What cha doing.” James quietly stood in front of her table.
“Research.” She said quickly.
“Oh… Are you almost finished with that book?” He asked as politely as possible.
She looked up at him quickly, seeming anxious and neverous.
She relaxed a little before she spoke.
“Oh! Uh… Yeah… Just uh… Give me a moment.” She quickly scribbled something down, packed up her things and walked quickly passed an approaching Sirius and Remus.
“What was that about?” Sirius ask, pointing back at the fleeting student.
“She’s a Raven Claw. Aren’t they all like that?” Peter asked standing next to the Remus.
“Never mind that.” James quickly sat down in front of the book and began flipping through the pages.
“There’s no specifics.” Remus sad after a hour of searching through the books.
“They’re all just about how fake it is.” Sirius pointed out.
“There as got to be something! I won’t let her win!” James fussed.
“Ask her.” Remus said sternly.
“If it bothers you so much, tell her to stop. She’s just upset and you’re not making it any better.”
James stared at the words in the book and sighed.
“You’re right.”
The boys walked to the common room. Lily, Annika, Marlene, and Medowes all sat on the couch doing work. Annika’s doll box was by her feet.
“Annika?” James said calmly. She smiled up at him.
“I… I uh… Could you please stop using the dolls? They make me very uncomfortable.”
She smiled. Remus nudged James with is elbow.
“Ow! And again… Sorry about the prank.”
“It’s OK.” She said. “Apology accepted. This has gone on for long enough.” She shifted and reached for the box.
Marlene snatched it from her hands.
“No! He mustn’t know our secret!” She said dramatically.
She opened the box and pulled out doll James.
“Marlene stop!” Annika shouted.
Marlene sat the doll on a table and picked up a heavy text book, holding it over the doll. She lifted it above her head and dropped it loudly on the doll.
“Ahhhhh!!!” James screamed as he awaited a crushing feeling…
Nothing happened.
Marlene burst into laughter, Dorcas joining in with a snicker
“What the?” James’ twitchy hands inspected his body.
“That wasn’t funny Mar!” Lily said half heatedly.
“It kinda was.” Dorcas smiled.
“Nothing happened!” James glared at the girls.
“Of course nothing happened.” Marlene rolled her eyes.
“They’re just dolls. We did this to get back at you guys.”
James looked at Annika, who stared at the ground. Shame occupied her normally cheery face.
“It wasn’t supposed to go that far.” She said.
“I came here to tell you it was a prank. I’m sorry guys.” Her voice was soft and low.
“But… But… Pete’s nails!” James pointed to his friends.
“We figured out of all of you, Pete would be the one that wouldn’t notice a tiny hex.” Dorcas smirked.
“And Pads and Moony?!” James asked.
The room filled with silence.
“I was in on it.” Remus broke shyly.
James turned in shock.
“I thought you would drop it, stupid thought though. You get carried away sometimes.” Remus scratched the back of his neck.
No one really noticed the panic on Sirius’s face before replacing it with a cool facade.
“I was in on it too.” He said quickly.
James looked around the room at his friends.
There was a hurt silence that broke into hysterical laughter.
“You girls got me good!” James laughed.
“I bet my face was priceless!” The others smiled back at him.
They were forgiven.
“You get one Quirke.” James smiled shaking her hand.
“I can’t take all of the credit.” She looked at the girls.
“Also it was my mother’s idea. We practice Hatian Voodoo. These dolls are more European. We figured they’d work to spook you.” She chuckled.
“Oh it did!” James laughed.
After all of the drama had been resolved, the girl went to bed, Peter and James snuck to the kitchen to get snakes, and Sirius a Remus went to the dorm the get ready for bed.
“I thought it was never going to stop.” Remus said, not looking up from his book.
“Yeah,” Sirius pulled his shirt on over his head. “I was started to get worried she just wasn’t going to tell him.” he chuckled.
“Yeah. Thought she had him when we snogged though… I also didn’t expect you to kiss me back.” Remus added.
Sirius looked back at his friends bowed head.
“Had to make it believable didn’t I? I was in on it you know?” Sirius smiled trying to hide his nervousness.
“No you weren’t.” Remus smiled back at him.
Sirius sallowed hard.
“I will attempt though. It was a pleasant surprise.” He said, before crawling to the end of his bed and reached for the cord to the curtains of his four post.
“Good night Pads.” He winked and closed the curtains.
Sirius grew a mischievous smile while staring at the closed curtains.
“If you wanna go again, just ask.” He whispered more to himself than anyone.
Remus quickly poked is head out of the curtain.
“Get your ass in here.”
°°°°°°°°∆°°°°°°°°
In the court yard the next day everyone sat out in the warm sun enjoying the nice weather.
Marlene talked to Lily as she braid Meadows’s hair. Peter talked to James who gave a confused look to Remus and Sirius.
“When did they get sooo… Close?”
Annika walked to the girls holding another box.
“Oh Merlin! No more boxes! My heart can’t take it.” James fell dramatically on to Peter.
Annika laughed. “No! Joan gave it to me this morning. She said it was in the common room and had my name in it.” She smiled.
Jane’s nudged Peter who, after being forced to tutor her, had grown quite fond of the fourth year.
Annika’s box was wrapped in shiny paper with the lid wrapped separately and had a big yellow bow on it. She sat down and took off the lid and pulled out a note.
She opened it and swirls of pink and yellow rolled straight up, taking the shape of butterflies and bursting into fireworks!
The group of friends stared at the sight. Annika’s face lit up. She turned to read the note.
“I tried hard to match your likeness. However, no form of magic could recreate your beauty. I know you always wanted one so I hope you like it.
- Your Secret Admirer
SShe smiled. Her breath caught as she looked at the doll that sat in the box. It emulated Annika in its likeness. Its yellow sun dress had designs of flowers and butterflies around the edge.
Annika was so in awe of the doll, she didn’t notice her friends shooting questioning looks at each other. All of them responded with a shake of their heads.
Remus caught a glimpse of something behind a pillar. Dark brown hair pushed into view by the breeze along with blue and copper robes.
Annika smiled lovingly at the doll, hugging it tight to her chest.
The on looker smiled and disappeared behind the pillar.
Dawn’s smile grew heart warmed as her back slid down the hard stone.
"She likes it! She really likes it!”

All I Ask of You Pt. 22
Tumblr media
“Congratulations. You have created a new kind of stupid. A ‘damage you can never undo’ kind of stupid.” - “Congratulations” from Hamilton
Pairing: Peter Parker x Female OC
Word Count: 2.8k
Summary: Some plot holes are filled up
Warnings: Rough writing maybe???
A/N: We’re getting to a new arc of plot so I would love to know everyone’s thoughts, don’t be afraid to talk to me!!!! Also, the masterlist of the series is in my bio due to the whole linking fiasco
The last day of school was more than welcome in Annie’s mind. After slogging through finals, she wasn’t sure if she was going to be able to make it. However, with the smallest amount of things sorted out, she couldn’t help feeling like things were getting put back into place. It wasn’t perfect and things were nothing like they used to be, but it was nice to still be around the people she had considered her friends.
MJ didn’t comment when she saw Annie talking to Peter and then Ned again. What was going through her mind, Annie was unsure. For all Annie knew, MJ was already completely aware of everything that happened. She was incredibly observant.
One last problem remained, Annie still needed to convince her parents to let her go across the country for what would likely end up being most of the summer. While she had a couple of ideas, a part of her was unsure if they would work.
“Hey… um, Annie? You there?” Peter asked, waving a hand in front of her face.
Annie blinked, sitting up, “Yep… yeah, um… how mad do you think Stark’s gonna be if I don’t go on that trip thing?”
“Wait… you’re going to? Pete, why didn’t you tell me?!” Ned exclaimed.
Annie shook her head, “Wait… you didn’t get the whole ‘I’ve been White Swan this whole time’ memo?”
“Nope. Peter, you owe me five bucks, though,” Ned said, smirking, “Anyways if you’re… then does that mean you… you doing okay?”
She shrugged, “Could be better, could be worse. But I really need to know.”
“Well… I don’t know. I think he said that he really needed you there. It’s kinda dangerous to have you over here,” Peter said before digging in his pockets, “Also, I think I’m broke right now, so you’re gonna have to wait, Ned.”
Annie rolled her eyes, “I can’t believe you two sometimes… but anyways, I’m just trying to figure out what I should do about it. Like, how should I go about getting my parents to agree… because there are a couple of ways I can go about this. You know, like, one very calm and convincing way and an underhanded, kind of rude way.”
“You’re gonna go with the rude way anyways, why try acting like you’re conflicted,” MJ said, leaning against the wall, “What’re you convincing them to do?”
Annie jumped a bit, “Oh, theatre camp. It’s all paid for, I just need them to agree.”
“Well, don’t have a whole mess like you did with Flash and you should be fine,” MJ replied, walking off.
It was true, if it didn’t blow up in her face, then Annie knew exactly what she had to do. She had a few convincing points that she had been holding onto mainly for the sake of hiding her superhero identity, and if she had to use the biggest one that would cause the most damage, she knew that she would have to use it at some point that day. No one else knew except for Ms. Salazar, her father, and now, herself.
There was no way her parents were going to agree to her going to Tahoe, and Annie was all too aware of that. How Peter and Ned were going, she had no clue. Peter wasn’t all that secretive or that great of a liar, if Aunt May knew, it wasn’t a surprise to her.
Then there was the fact that she wouldn’t get to see Harper until the end of the summer. Was that worth it? Sure, she would avoid Carnival for a couple months, but really that was only prolonging the inevitable. At the same time, it gave her an excuse to disappear and sort everything out that had happened. That was something she needed to do without her parents around and without the business of the city and seeing everything that was happening around her.
If nothing else, the last day went by smoothly, though she had to ensure that her plan wasn’t about to blow up in her face. She wasn’t going to have something like the Flash situation again. At the same time, there wasn’t any way for things to get much worse in her mind.
She’d already lost a friend, killed someone, almost completely destroyed her relationship with two of her closest friends, and almost got Peter killed. Not to mention that the villain she thought was on the backburner had popped up in the city she lived in. How much more unlucky could she be?
“Hey, Ms. Salazar, just wondering… you weren’t kidding or lying when you said my dad bribed you right?” Annie asked.
Ms. Salazar looked up and nodded slowly, “It was all true. Y-you’re not going to bring this up to anyone, right?”
“Now, that depends. Um… you see, you and my father are at fault, but you took the money-”
“Are you extorting me, Annika?”
Annie shrugged, “Depends on what you mean by extorting. I’m just stating facts, but out of curiosity… what’s the production for this upcoming year gonna be?”
“I don’t know that for sure yet, I still have to talk to the other teachers involved first. You wouldn’t really try to fire me, would you? I’m tenured,” Ms. Salazar stated.
Annie smirked, “That also depends on if you tell me what the production’s gonna be before everyone else knows. Look, you screwed me over throughout the whole production-”
“And you seemed fine then.”
“Well I decided your word of apology wasn’t enough. Here’s my email, thank you for your cooperation,” Annie replied with a sweet smile, leaving a sticky note on her teacher’s laptop screen.
Within a few moments the bell rang, and Annie walked out of the room with a small smile on her face. If she could get revenge on her teacher, she could convince her parents. She looked at Tony Stark’s contact information one last time. If she really wanted, she knew that there was a chance she could convince him to let her stay in New York.
Only, she didn’t want to stay in New York. What she would have to do is get Harper to meet up with all of them. If Ned got to tag along, it was only fair, and Tony hadn’t said no in the first place.
Peter caught up to Annie after school, “Hey, you good?”
“Never better, why?”
“You look like you’re about to commit mur- I shouldn’t joke about that… s-sorry, you look like you’re about to fight someone. Just… don’t do anything stupid,” Peter stammered, looking at her.
Annie chuckled, “Oh, no, what I’m doing is fucking genius. You want me going with you and Ned or not?”
“I do, but if you can’t figure something out without making things worse, we can work something out,” Peter insisted.
“No, I’m doing this my way. I’ve done a trial run, I’m at the best condition I can be to do some convincing.”
“Convincing or manipulating? Annie, I know you’ve been through a lot, but you shouldn’t take it out on your parents.”
Annie scoffed, “You weren’t there, were you? Right, you ditched me when things really went to shit, didn’t you? And I forgive you for that, but you don’t know what my life’s looked like since… everything. My parents watched me stay up until four in the morning on a school night. They let me go to school when I was throwing up out of anxiety. They left me alone when I was crying in my bedroom because I had no one. Whatever I end up saying to them, they deserve. Not everyone has a cool aunt like you do.”
“Okay… forget I said anything,” Peter said, looking at his shoes.
She shook her head, “Shit, Pete, I’m sorry… I just… it was hard, and it still is and… I shouldn’t take it out on you, that was the first problem, none of this is your fault.”
Peter turned around to pull her into a tight hug, “I-I know… but I don’t like that I left you alone when I kinda knew you weren’t doing great-”
“I was being a bitch. You had every right to ditch me for awhile. It’s okay, seriously,” Annie said, burying her face in the crook of his neck.
Even though they had only started talking again for not even a full day, Annie felt things were far better than they had been. They were doing more than just talking and a part of her was almost certain that Peter had the same complicated feelings she did. Only, she didn’t want to be with him if she was going to be irritable all the time.
Granted, it was between snapping or crying. She couldn’t do both and she didn’t want to cry because she knew once she started, she wasn’t going to stop.
Eventually Ned joined them and they headed back to their apartments just like nothing had happened. Well, except for Ned constantly asking Annie about her powers. It would have been annoying if it hadn’t been someone she liked talking to.
Of course, she had to get home at some point, and she was more than ready to talk to her parents. In her head while she was in the elevator to her floor, she was thinking over the points she was going to make.
Having one parent who was a lawyer and another who was a professor meant she had to outsmart them. Though, in that same line, Annie knew that she would have the element of surprise on her side. And maybe even added points of shock value if her mom didn’t know what was going on.
When she opened the door, she could tell her parents had been talking. The way they were suddenly sitting up so straight and still, almost as though they had been caught doing something they weren’t supposed to be.
“Aren’t you supposed to still be at school?” asked her mom.
Annie shook her head, “Nope. If you paid attention, you’d see it’s the last day of school. Meaning it’s summertime.”
“Now, don’t talk to your mom like that, she’s very busy,” her dad responded.
Annie set her bag down before sitting in the comfy chair across from her parents, “You’re one to talk… but never mind that. I have some super awesome news for you guys!” “Which is?” her mom prompted.
Annie sighed a bit, getting the words in her head again, “Well, you see, it just so happens that Peter works with Tony Stark, you know Stark Industries type of Tony Stark, and he loved seeing me play as Maria in West Side Story, claimed I had loads of potential. And you know what the best part is? Well, you see, he kind of offered to have me go to a prestigious theatre camp for most of the summer over in Tahoe.”
“Annika Clarissa Hardwick, we do not have the money that can be spent by you going to a camp for what’s going to be a hobby for you. End of discussion,” her dad snapped.
Annie nodded slowly, “Hm… is it really though? I wasn’t all the way done, you see, I told him that you don’t have any value for the fine arts despite claiming theatre would help to build my character. And you know what that amazing man said? He said that he would take care of all the expenses. Food, transportation, the camp, everything. You just need to say yes.”
“No. We can’t steal his money-”
“Carter, he’s a multi-billionaire. He could likely pay for everyone in that school to go and still have more than enough money to take care of himself. I don’t see why not,” her mom said with a shrug.
Her dad’s nostrils flared a small bit, “I will not have anyone feeding her information that she can ever be an actress.”
“Really? Do you mean that, Dad?” Annie asked, sitting up.
He nodded, “Yes, it’s impractical.”
“Okay, riddle me this: I got the lead role in a musical production where my teacher hated me and tried to prove my incompetence. She liked others better, and it was obvious. So… why did she give me the role at the end of the day? It’s a funny little thing, isn’t it?” Annie inquired, starting to stand up.
Her dad shifted a bit, “You must’ve gotten lucky. She’s not the only teacher casting.”
“Right. Maybe that was the case. I would have bought that if Ms. Salazar hadn’t apologized for her behavior. And then she said she only picked me because you bribed her, Dad. Now, excuse my language, but why the fuck would you bribe her like that if you wanted me to give up acting?”
“Wait. You what?! Carter! You did what?” her mom exclaimed, looking at her husband.
He sighed, “She wasn’t supposed to say. And it was just a high school production and I wanted to make things right after telling you about your birth. It was wrong and I have learned from my mistake.”
“But she’s getting an opportunity. If you didn’t want her to have it, then you should have thought of that before rigging her audition,” her mom replied, shaking her head.
His gaze hardened, “You’re not going. You’re probably lying about the whole camp so you can run off and do whatever you want.”
“Actually, let me call the man himself. He’ll clear everything right up for you,” Annie said, taking out her phone to call Tony.
All she could do was hope that he remembered that he promised to go along with whatever she came up with. And she waited with the phone on speaker as the dial tone rang out into the quiet living room.
“Stark Industries, Tony Stark speaking. Miss Hardwick, what can I do for you?”
Annie smirked, “It’s true that you said you were willing to pay for the acting camp over in Tahoe, correct? My parents were doubting the situation and are shocked.”
“Yes, of course, everything will be covered. You will leave to travel in a couple days and come back towards the end of August,” Tony explained, leaving Annie to hide her relief that he was playing along.
Her dad looked like his eyes were about to pop out of his head, while her mom’s jaw dropped, “We will take the opportunity! Thank you so much, Mr. Stark.”
“Anytime, your daughter is an amazing actress. Is that all?”
“Yep, thanks Mr. Stark, goodbye!” Annie said before hanging up the phone.
The room was silent for another moment, “You can’t just let her leave.”
“Why not? You guys keep me out of your situation so much so that you don’t pay me any mind. You won’t notice I’m gone,” Annie replied, looking at her dad.
Her mom sighed, “Carter, we need time to sort out our marriage too. We don’t want her over here having to deal with that. It’s for the best.”
“I’ll go pack my bags,” Annie said, walking to her bedroom and closing the door.
When she picked up her phone, she called up Tony again, hearing him pick up, “Hey, thanks for playing along.”
“This is some serious stuff, I’d be willing to say I was taking you to a church retreat if that’s what it took,” Tony replied.
“Either way… we’re leaving in a couple of days then? My friend… they won’t be here by then. Can’t we wait? They’re the closest thing to a sidekick I have,” Annie pleaded.
Tony sighed, “I told you, I’ll see what I can do.”
With that conversation at an end, Annie put her headphones in once she got irritated with hearing half of what her parents were saying. Their voices didn’t raise, but the occasional word standing out got to be too much for her, so she eventually started listening to some music.
Though, if she had listened harder, she could have heard what was being said.
“Elsa, you can’t seriously think that she’ll ever make it out there,” Carter Hardwick said, rubbing his eyes.
“I don’t get a say in that, clearly. You have done so much behind my back when you said you wouldn’t. And you keep talking about divorce like it’s the only way-”
“It is. We’re making this place toxic for her.”
“But staying apart won’t fix much either. So you know what? I’m going to prove that I love our daughter more than anything else. And you’ll have to deal with the fact that she is intelligent and witty, and you will let her take any opportunities given to her. Whether we’re living together or not, I don’t care that we adopted her. She is our kid and I won’t let her be deprived,” Elsa said, her lips in a thin line.
Annie didn’t hear what was said, rather she stuck to messaging Peter and Harper. She didn’t want to end up listening in on something she wouldn’t want to hear.
