If Duck's love language is food, what if he "confesses" by making Red's favorite? ❤️

finally done having to do actual work at my job instead of dicking around on the internet so!!!! Let's get to these asks!!!!

Duck making Red his favorite food as a way to confess that he's in love with him has me screaming and crying and kicking my legs in the air rn. We already know Duck's favorite is curry, but what we have to figure out is what RED'S favorite food is!

For a deliciously angsty possibility I'd like to suggest that it's Shepherd's Pie, and he started making it while getting ready for Duck's funeral because he was dissociating and attempting to perform a familiar task that's comforting to him >:)

Imagine: Duck and Red in the kitchen, Duck cooking, Red keeping him company at the table, Green and Yellow playing in the living room, windows open, twilight drifting in on the breeze. Red watching the news, completely absorbed in some report about the rising prices of petrol or some other old man interest (they don't drive idk what he's so upset about) bitching to Duck about how ridiculous the cabinet is acting this election cycle, met only with silence. So he turns to look at what Duck's doing (because that old fart never passes up a chance to talk politics) and is greeted by the sight of him gently placing the most beautiful Shepherd's Pie Red has ever seen on the table in front of him.

And Red looks into his eyes and all he can make out is a mix of nervous apprehension and the most naked look of love the bird has ever directed at him. And the last time Red smelled Shepherd's pie he was stood in this kitchen, Yellow by his side, the boy completely unaware of the consequences that day was going to hold for him, laughing and singing with Red. Remembers standing in his tight suit, sweating, awkward and put-out, watching a small coffin lower itself down into the earth. Yellow sitting in his chair, slowly coming to the realization that the Other One isn't coming out of the hole. The mourners, Stain, Duck, and the Other Duck, and then just the one, gripping a filthy shovel. Yellow stood in a familiar blue overcoat, grinning from ear-to-ear, sneakers scuffing blood across the hardwood.

A familiar green face shines back at him now, in the present, nervously picking at a feather on his arm. Sliding the pie closer, beak twisted into a neutral position. And Red can't force words out around the lump in his throat, can barely breath around it, but he can reach out, grasping at the hand picking feathers, and squeezes it three times, hard, pouring every word he can't bring himself to say into it, forever grateful to Green for introducing the practice to their family.

And they sit, holding hands, eating the Shepherd's Pie, enjoying each other's silent company. Happy to sit, to eat, to soak in the silence, together. Until Green and Yellow barge in, demanding to be fed as well. And doesn't it just make the moment sweeter? Red thinks so. And he's never felt farther away from that hole in the ground until now, sitting at the table, surrounded by his clump. Green hand in his grip squeezing out a deliberate I-LOVE-YOU

He squeezes back, just as slow.

Hi this is a very random question with probs no answer but I wanted to see your opinions on it. Who do you think is castor and pollux’s mother/other parent? (Mr D’s kids not the actual mythological figures lol) Cause the main options that me and my friends came up with is that either they were someone who some how came to the camp (specifically not a camper but idk how’d they’d get there) Or they were a camper. Either way Mr D isn’t supposed to leave the camp, so how can he have kids?

(I’m not asking if you think they’re a specific character more so who would their other parent be if that makes sense lol)

So one of the established things in the canon of how deities work - at least the Greco-Roman deities - in PJO is that they can inhabit multiple spaces at once, which is very interesting. We’ve seen this a couple of times in varying forms (less so as the series goes on), in fact primarily from Dionysus. The best moment I can think of off the top of my head in-series that explains this is in TLO, where Percy talks to Dionysus while Dionysus is at a party and he explains how he can manifest at least partially present in either a physical or non-physical form in places relevant to his aspects - in this case, revelry. Mr. D, as camp director, is almost entirely present and locked to CHB, but he is capable of also partially not being there, because he does still have godly duties to attend to in bits and pieces in places where his aspects are present. So, theoretically, we can presume a situation such as that is how Dionysus had Pollux and Castor. (This also plays into my personal headcanons about demigods being primarily born of specific epithets of their parents - as presumably the partial-presence thing would result in only specific aspects of that deity being present to specific things - resulting in a specific range of potential powers depending on which epithet they’re born from, i.e.: Meg being born from an older form of Demeter.)

Though I do also like your idea of Castor and Pollux’s mortal parent potentially being a mortal who visited camp, because we actually have a couple of different routes you could go with that. First is obviously, parent of an existing demigod at CHB, which is kind of a really funny option to me because this means Castor and Pollux potentially have (or had) an older half-sibling with a different godly parent. That also actually fits the myth of the original Castor and Pollux well because depending on the version of the myth they actually had separate fathers despite being twins (or, also depending on myth, actually quadruplets with twin sisters Helen of Troy and Clytemnestra). Heck, if we want to go more in on the myth paralleling, maybe Castor and Pollux are quadruplets and have or had twin sisters in camp in a different cabin, and their parent had come to camp before actually having their kids to get advice beforehand from Chiron. I actually really like that headcanon now. Dang.

Other options are the “mortal ended up in camp not knowing anything about demigods” routes - and we have two potential routes I can see for this. One being the Lost Pizza Guy™ route of “A deity purposefully summoned a random mortal to camp for Reasons and let them in,” second is actually acknowledging that CHB is, to mortals who cannot see through the mist, disguised as a strawberry farm that is publicly known and theoretically occasionally receives mortal visitors (by accident or on purpose) which is also interesting because in TOA we’re actually told that CHB is surrounded by other farms. Maybe it was people from a neighboring farm visiting, or mortals who wanted to tour and/or go strawberry picking, both of which do actually align with Dionysus’ aspects as an agricultural deity, which is also potentially pretty cute cause that implies Castor and Pollux’s mortal family is most likely local and that Castor and Pollux might have grown up around camp if not actually lived right next to it.

Anyways, options abound! Thank you for leading me down this train of thought because now I have significantly more Castor & Pollux thoughts and they’re all very cute. These are all delightful options.

i  feel  like  electro  would  be  the  MOST  OBVIOUS  choice  —  but  ren  is  (  despite what he may claim to the contrary  )  fully  capable  of  using  it  still.  the  electro  he  wielded  as  scaramouche  stemmed  from  his  internal  power  source;  he  was  more  or  less  drawing from the  energy  produced  by  his  own  battery  as  a  weapon  —  which  was  fine  in  smaller  bursts,  but  did  genuinely  HARM HIM  the  more  of  it  that  he  used.  (  he  simply  didn't  care,  because  his  body  could  eventually  repair  itself  from  anything.  )  technically  speaking,  ren  still  very  much  has  that  same  power  source  inside  him  and  there's  nothing  physically  stopping  him  anymore;  the  wounds  he  sustained  from  tearing  himself  free  from  the  robot  have  long  regenerated.  he  just  tries  to  rely  solely  on  his  anemo  these  days  because  he  sees  electro  as  an  extension  of  his  mother  —  as  well  as  the  enhanced  strength  he  gained  from  the  fatui's  experiments.  even  in  a  situation  where  he  was  gifted  a  second  vision,  which  by  all  means  should  technically  be  unaffiliated  with  either,  he  would  probably  be  unable  to  bring  himself  to  use  it  for  the  same  reasons.

as  far  as  other  elements  go,  i  don't  think  he  holds  any  particularly  STRONG  feelings  about  them.  certainly  not  enough  to  specifically  go  out  of  his  way  to  wield  them.  much  like  how  he  associates  electro  with  his  mother  and  the  fatui,  i  think  ren  subconsciously  associates  anemo  with  himself.  for  all  that  he  tries  to  act  cynical  about  visions  and  deride  the  idea  of  divine  favor,  it's  painfully  obvious  that  he  does  treasure  his  own  quite  dearly.  he  doesn't  want  any  other  element,  and  i  think  he  would  prefer  it  if  he  didn't  NEED  THEM  either.

so  obviously  his  choice  would  be  anemo  —  but  rather  than  just  having  it  HANDED  OVER  to  him,  he  would  want  to  acquire  it  for  an  actual  reason.  it  has  to  have  meaning.  it  has  to  mark  a  great  accomplishment,  a  step  forward  in  his  personal  growth.  i  doubt  he  would  actually  SAY  THAT;  power  is  power  and  he  realistically  isn't  going  to  turn  his  nose  up  at  the  option  to  accumulate  even  more. ( seemingly without any notable drawbacks whatsoever. )  but  his  current  vision  is  important  to  him  because  it  symbolizes  his  desire  to  embrace  the  sins  of  the  past.  something  that  just  gets  spontaneously  dropped  in  his  lap  wouldn't  be  nearly  as  significant in his eyes,  as  useful  as  DOUBLING  what  he's  currently  capable  of  would  certainly  be.  he  wants  to  earn  it.

There are multiple universes across the multiverse that signed the Peace Treaty and Alliances… one of them was actually SGX2 Universe. Where it’s a Decepticon and Autobots are all power hungry and all, but the whole thing was resolved into one Empire because MegaOp fell in love and tied the knot and rule together with a iron fist.

Everyone is toxic but genuinely love their partners and only care about their partners and by chance, the sparklings they had to make the new generation.

MirageHound: Hound decided to settle down and Mirage threw himself at him, he loves the attention and does wound up caring for his obsessive and touch starved mate. Mirage is trying to talk him into starting family and Hound is considering it… low and behold, a fun night that does lead to Mirage getting sparked and he’s cool with it.

JazzProwl: Are perfectly happy together, they had their… lover spats during the war but they talked things out and fell more in love with each other than before. They are actually expecting their first sparkling too. Jazz is carrying as Prowl continues to work and manipulate for power, while being a devoted sire and mate.

RatchetDrift: Still perfectly in love and happy… but here’s the thing, they have an accidental sparkling that the wound of caring for. It’s not RatchetDrifts but DriftPerceptor’s that Drift begrudgingly carried after a one night stand from the pair’s open relationship… he still isn’t wound of sparklings but like how possessive he is of Ratchet and their happiness, the same thing goes to this hissy and angry ball of joy he has.

Rodimus x Ultra Magnus: A fun night stand that got them expecting a sparkling, their no strings attached relationship wound up forcing them to work things out ti falling in love and getting hitched. Rodimus hates carrying though, it’s so boring! But oddly enough, he and Magnus immediately got attached to the sparkling they have as Ultra Magnus, the fiercest warrior and proud sire plots got de throw MegaOp so he and Rodimus’ creation could rule cybertron.

Blaster x Soundwave: Are honestly vibing. They were rivals during the war and started flirting mid way to arguing into lovers quarrels only to profess their devotions and settle down. They had multiple children and were perfectly happy together, both taking turns in carrying since they had so many children.

Are some of the key couples who are actually happy together.

I guess even evil people can find love and meaningful relationships!

Lesley is living for the drama. She's in that fucking attic with wine and maybe a nip of sherry and tea and popcorn just watching the Red/Duck thing like a telenovela. Yellow and Green are both her favorites still, but she's like VERY amused with the romance subplot. She tells Roy about it during thier little catchups, since he's probably been excommunicated from the wall and is now just wandering the newly spacious outside world like bigfoot.

Eventually she'd pop in a queen bed, just for the drama. Cackling like a witch when Red valiantly volunteers to sleep on the sofa. She watches him toss and turn for a few hours until he crawls back to the bedroom and promises Duck he'll sleep on his own side and won't bother him or anything and Duck's just like Shut the fuck up and get over here. And they fall asleep on separate sides and wake up snuggling.

OHH I love rambling about my OCs, so indulge me for a moment.

I have a few PJO OCs, but my favourite is a daughter of Hermes and she's just. A silly little girly who's a little bit fucked up. I'm talking full on tragic backstory up to and including the dead mom.

She's not that powerful, but she can find money almost anywhere that she looks, and she's very persuasive when it comes to getting what she wants.

She also used to be a Hunter of Artemis just because I think that Artemis would totally see this bastard child sleeping in a pile trash and recruit her.

Yeah, it's a little cliché and cringe or whatever, but it's not like I'm going to post the 11000 (and counting) words of a fic I've written about her. This is basically for my pure enjoyment.

HELL YES she sounds delightful i love her. Also again cringe culture is dead. We thrive. Making things for pure enjoyment is the goal. I don’t think she sounds cliché at all though personally.

omg don't apologize!! (and also tumblr is SUCH a weird ass website, do not ever be scared to ask why things are the way they are)

the purpose of the queue, generally, is just a way to have a ""consistent stream of content"" posting for the people who follow you when you're away from tumblr. not everyone uses it! it's more of a habit than anything. i've been using a queue for like...ten years (gulp) but at this point it's more out of habit than anything else.

#i used it more when i was a big dctv blog! but technically my tag is still from back when i was a (gulp x2) mcu blog #it also helps when im posting like a maniac in a MOOD bc i can queue stuff i like/see on my dash without interrupting the current flow #ask reply #Anonymous

First things first, hi :D. I'm mildly confused. Mostly because I'm the furthest thing from popular I can be. Most of the updates I do both on ao3 and here, I do, screaming into the void with little to zero feedback. So I didn't really realize people are actually waiting for requesting anything from me. That said, I regularly reblog prompt list for people to choose from. Right now I can only write X-Men (might be able to throw the occasional MCU char in the timeline until Winter Soldier in), and of course, brain's more likely to compute with my standard pairings.
